Good app, but unreliable. I’m a very closed off person but I suffer from mental health issues so I use this app to get things off my chest and to just write, or type, it all out I guess. I like the app and it’s a good concept but it’s pretty unreliable and crashes often. There’s times where I’m really struggling and it helps sometimes just to write what I’m thinking even if no ones actually reading it but it’s down a lot. The servers are always unresponsive and I know other users struggle with it too. It’s just unreliable because it doesn’t work a good 40% of the time, I don’t use it everyday or anything and maybe it’s the time I go on it cause it’s usually at night when I need help. I like the concept and actually really helpful but I wish it actually worked 100% of the time!!

Great app, but constant bugs...one in particular. I feel like vent is a work in progress. The community is very supportive and focused on the social aspect of social media, rather than popularity, like mainstream apps such as twitter or instagram. However, there are several bugs that keep the app from being top-notch. But the vent team is very receptive to feedback and takes users' words into account, which is very good. The one "bug" that I find very problematic as of now is that for whatever reason, all of my in-app purchases I spent on unlocking limited edition emotions were completely erased. All of the emotions I've previously purchased...about $12 worth...I have to purchase again. I'm hoping that the vent team will see my complaint soon and address it, and I'm not sure if anyone else is having this problem. Overall though, I'd say that if you look past the bugs, the app is very great and unlike any other social media you will use. It's my prime place to post because I truly feel I can be myself.

Good Concept, Bad Execution. I personally used vent since 2015 and I loved it for a long time. It’s gotten to a point though where I think, while the idea is nice, I don’t think there’s any way of redeeming it. I believe that Vent is a way for people to put off fixing their problems to instead whine and post about it to receive validation without doing anything to help themselves. The app encourages this kind of behavior immensely. The community is toxic, damaging, and hurtful to people, and treats new users poorly for not following certain unwritten rules; the best example is seeing new users get yelled at and blocked for not “interacting with vent user x’s bio account before following.” These are not rules, these are social norms on the app the community becomes absolutely deranged about. I appreciate the staff and all they do, I just don’t think there’s any way to salvage this app. It was a good idea and had a good run and maybe even has some potential, but I think it’s about time to admit it isn’t helpful and call it quits soon.

Bugs and Unhelpful Staff. I never write reviews for apps but this time I felt like I had to. First off, the app has quite a few bugs. For example, every time I open a new message, the reply box will suddenly disappear and I have to close and re open the app before I can reply. Secondly, my account was banned for about 12 hours because they claimed my photo was inappropriate. It was a sexy photo but not revealing at all, so I checked their “community guidelines” to make sure that I wasn’t in violation of any of them and I didn’t find anything that supported their claim since there was no nudity or even cleavage and nothing suggestive about my pose. I then very politely emailed the support team to ask that the ban be lifted since there was nothing in their rules that said I couldn’t use that as my photo. I also said that I would of course never use a similar photo again, but I didn’t feel that it was right for me to be banned since there was no way for me to know that using that photo would get me into trouble. When someone finally got back to me they essentially told me that I was on a “timeout” and that I should chose a better photo next time. It all felt very condescending and unhelpful.

Saved my life. I will never forget this community for as long as I live. I’ve been on the app for about 6 years now and a lot has changed within myself and the world since this all began. This has been my go to app ever since I was 12 years old and it’s crazy how far we’ve all come, I’m about to be 20 this month (shocking I know) I am very grateful that I had the opportunity to make friends and heal through the Vent app. The creators of this app are really heaven sent. Vent has the potential to be better. I'm not even sure Jamie or the team checks these apple reviews but here are a few things I'd like to see in the future: -Ability to delete comments, not just with bouncer mode. There are too many people leaving rude and toxic comments -NO upvoting or downvoting comments, this will just be a tool for harassment -Ability to see who is following you back without having to go through their entire following list -Time travel through your vents like you could in the past -Ability to login with usernames again. I can no longer log into several accounts because I don't know the emails

Lifesaving but TalkLife Destroyed it. This app came a long way. It has saved my life, given me a new family, and helped me get by on my worst days. This app and community was amazing after a while. Now, TalkLife has bought it out and phenomenally mucked it up. They had an already set revenue source and tanked it, with no concern for the literal lives that depend on it. When I say that TalkLife really “mucked” it up, please know that I mean with an “F.” I will get by without this app somehow, but I cannot imagine the thousands who will not. TalkLife has lied and hurt all of the Vent community by shutting it down under false pretenses. The least you could have done was be honest and give us all a heads up so we had time to find other alternatives. Or you could have helped us to find alternatives. Or you could have done your jobs and not tanked the “competitor’s” app that you decided to absorb. You could have built a better business model if money was truly the only factor. So many things as a responsible, trustworthy, successful company you could have done. I’ll be boycotting TalkLife until I’m dead.

Trigger-happy Staff. I have had an account on vent for over a year, which I used every few months. Today, I attempted to log onto the app, just to see that my account was deleted. I attempted to log in on a different account, only to be told that I was put in a so called “naughty corner,” aka device banned. I never made a single nsfw post, posted about any sort of gore or harm, made a callout post, etc. I had three accounts, which is about the same as many other people I saw and I did all have uses for. I did not receive a single warning from the Vent staff before I was banned. I did not receive a single email when I was banned. I only realized when I attempted to log into the app this morning in a fragile mental state, as I was planning to use it to vent. The app told me to contact support, but provides no way to contact the support team. I reviewed the community guidelines after I was banned, and couldn’t find a single one that I was violating. This app is ridiculous. Don’t bother downloading Vent, because the staff will ban you when you need help with your mental health the most.

Pretty darn perfect.. I absolutely love Vent! I use it as a diary and vent how I’m feeling or if I just want to get something off my chest. It’s great to have a community of people there to support you. I’ve chosen to stay completely anonymous on Vent but you don’t have to unless you want! The only downside to Vent is, I wish they would actually look at the feed directed towards them, to help make the community larger. They’re always adding in new emotions, but lately they’ve been tacking on an emoji with it and personally I think it looks horrendous. I feel like they should add the same emotions without the emojis. Because some of the emojis just don’t even fit with the emotion and the emotion was the whole point in the beginning anyhow. I feel like they put out whatever emotions they want and not what the audience is asking for, that’s why I didn’t give this review 5 stars.

the best social media app. Vent has been a safe haven to me for a couple of years and I feel as if it's finally time to leave a review. First and foremost, the staff is extremely accommodating & listens to community needs. I've never had an issue that the vent staff hasn't attempted to resolve & they're always open to app suggestions. Secondly, the user-base is very inclusive. You're bound to meet people on here that share your interests, with an abundance of groups. The lgbt community on here is also very sizable & I've come to meet many amazing people! If you're down to give support, be supported, or generally just discuss your interests, I'd most definitely recommend Vent.

I've had this app for years. This app has been my safe spots for literal years it's gone through everything with me. All the good bad and in between quite literally and has been one of the most supportive spaces i've had. Being able to chart my progress throughout all these years and see my growth has been amazing and I honestly don't know what or where i'd be if I hadn't been able to freely express myself in my best and worst moments.

Love the concept, but it doesn’t always work. When I first downloaded this app, I left a really bad review because the app didn’t work at all. They’ve since put out an update which fixed that issue, but there still are usually weekly crashes. The app is really good about putting out updates to address those, I just wish they didn’t happen in the first place. Other than that, I adore vent. It’s a great place to let your feelings out and feel like you’re not alone. For someone like me who doesn’t have anyone to vent to, this app is a god sent.

Useless turned Everything. I had lots of complications just getting my account set up on this app and initially deleted it on my iPad, but it remained unused on my iPhone. I stared at the little icon after a pivotal moment in my life where I had to stay strong, but all I wanted to do was scream as loud as I could on the highest mountain top... Or I guess a pillow would suffice. Either way, I tried to log in after an iOS update one last time and suddenly I was in. Right now this is one of the most exciting new apps I’ve seen since GetGlue or TVTime. No, ‘Vent’ doesn’t center around media... But there’s a closeness in the community that echoes the strength of the original GetGlue, but with the supportive feel of TVTime. ‘Vent’ allows me to connect with people going through similar issues, and even narrows that lot down with similar interests. Groups are great, the users are there to build you up, and if you have something tough going on in your life; if you’re battling personal demons; or you just need an outlet to react off that pesky first emotion that hits you in the gut... This is the best kept secret in the App Store. Shhhhhh, lets keep it that way by putting our all into making the vision the developers came up with a reality... TOGETHER.

BUGS GALORE. I’ve used Vent for a few years now and mostly I use it like an introverted version of Twitter. I log on, make a few posts, then log off for a few days. I don’t really interact with the community. There’s a lot of strange people, to say the least. And if people aren’t claiming to be reincarnations of literal angels or serial killers, you have people arguing with you over your emotions or telling you not to enjoy certain fictional characters more than them. Aside from this, the app is almost completely broken and has been for months now. You usually get log in errors, errors saying there are connection issues whenever you try to navigate the app, half of the time your posts double post, etc. It’s frustrating for me, someone that hardly uses the app, so I can’t imagine how people whose entire social lives are on this app have been effected. I still use it but it aggravates me to no end and I would not recommend it to anyone.

Great App. The app is good. The community can be nice. There’s a lot of drama but I feel like the Vent Team does the work needed to make the app a safe place to be. Their work does not go unnoticed or unappreciated. My issue is with vent angel. I want to support the app but the perks don’t work as intended. I can’t edit emotion reactions to non angel sets nor do highlights appear on my vents. Those were the features I was most excited for. Nonetheless, I continue to love the little things that vent does for its community such as the vent emotion set. This is the place to be if you need support or need to vent!

Anarcho-communist breeding ground. If you are socialist, anarchist, misandrist or just straight up hate America you will love this app. If you do not fall under one of these categories you will become increasingly disdainful and frustrated with this community because of their intolerance of criticism and self expression. App is filled with anti-capitalist, anti-american “activists” who enjoy harassing, reporting and banning users that disagree with them ideologically. You get kicked off the groups if you try to point out this issue because it supposedly causes “drama” and is against the app’s guidelines. This problem seems to be getting worse the larger the user base becomes. This is an interesting concept, but the result has been a complete failure of a community.

app has issues. i actually quite liked Vent a few years back when i first started using it, but now that i’ve returned in the past year it seems like the app is nothing like it was before. it doesn’t feel like much of a safe space anymore, what with all the accusations and outrage against the Vent Team for silencing users and failing to protect them from others, failing to fix bugs that’ve been present for months now, and now with the Legacy Set controversy. i hardly use this app only when i need it and i don’t follow other people, but these accusations are very serious and there’s a huge lack of communication on Vent’s part, especially for bugs. so join this app if you want to constantly have service unavailable errors and more when you attempt to do anything and have no answers as to why these bugs have not been fixed for months. 🙂

Great but broken. I’ve been with this app since 2015 after a friend showed it to me (funny that I haven’t seen her use it in years).I’ve seen this place grow and change and develop over time. I really enjoy this app not only for it being a diary of sorts, but also the amount of people I’ve met. I’ve made a lot of friends here and I am grateful to be able to connect to people through here. With that being said this app still needs work. Lately I’ve noticed that it’s more broken than it has ever been in the past. This app has errors that appear when it doesn’t process something. More often than not I feel that I get more errors, my posts don’t want to send, my interactions with peoples posts will undo itself, and sometimes the app will shut down for hours. I’m not a developer and I will never claim to be, but for the years I’ve been on I would expect this app to get better not worse. I don’t hate the app and I don’t mean to come off as nitpicking. I consider this app to be my virtual home and have a ton of loyalty to it. I just want to see this things fixed.

Unusable in it’s current state— not recommended until it gets an update to solve constant errors. I’ve used this app for 5-6 years now. It’s a really great app, but lately it’s been almost unusable. They decided to add advertisements after all this time, which doesn’t bother me that much, but they added it during a time where the app is CONSTANTLY giving errors. I start the app up? “Unexpected Error” and I have to press retry. Check my notification tab? “Service unavailable”. Use the search feature? Same thing. I wanna vent? ERROR. Same thing for commenting. Literally every single feature gives you an error now. It takes so long to load everything as well. It’s not my internet bc I’ve tried using cellular data and had the same results, and other people using the app have the same problem. I absolutely loved this app before this but it’s just unusable and frustrating to use now. I’m so embarrassed that I recommended this app to a friend right before all this started. Oh also, the errors started *after* advertisements were added into the app. What a coincidence.

Purchases not available. I’ve used Vent for about 5years now and have bought at least 10 “emotion packs”, but when I opened the app today those were all locked to me and the only payment option was “unlock all” for 2.99/month. This wouldn’t be unreasonable, but I’ve lost access to at least ~$20 worth of content that I had previously purchased with absolutely no warning or notification. (March 2021) Update Dec 2021: 9 months later and i still don’t have access to the emotion packs I bought previously. The fact that this sort of thing wasn’t accounted for when vent switched to a subscription based model is ridiculous.

Occupies too much storage space.. I enjoy this app and have met many nice people who I now call very close friends on it. The only reason I’m giving it one star is because it takes up a ton of space, more than many of the apps on my phone combined (even games). I find it hard to have this app downloaded and still be able to use some of my other favorite apps because it really does dominate my storage space. I have a 32GB phone and this app takes up 22GB of that. It’s rather ridiculous, inconvenient even, that I constantly have to delete and re-download this app if I want to take photos on a trip, or play a new game. I wish there was a way for the developers of this app to slim it down some so it doesn’t take such a toll on space.

Great App BUT BUG. I love this app! I actually do. It feels like a place to just vent out without thinking of getting followers or fame . I love the groups aspect a lot bc it’s not spaces to go too . It helped me allow myself to express myself more which I’ve had problems with . I keep an actual diary now! With this app and i used to be worried that somone may get my phone but now with the passcode thing , i don’t have to worry 😊😊. BUT i keep getting these error messages and service not available messages . Sooo yea, i think vent is experiencing some issues bc it’s not my internet , i would check but see that any other app that uses internet worked just fine .

Useful and helpful every day 👍. I love how I can choose what emotion I am feeling and write it in a diary. It records the day and time I wrote it and I can look back on how I felt during different days. I just wish they had off-line mode, it would have helped a lot when I was on my vacation and didn’t have Internet. And you meet some pretty nice people on there. I hope this app never goes away or disappears. Thank you Vent, keep up the great work. I love your app. It really helps me a lot when I need to write down how I am feeling or something that happened. 🙂❤️

Good app, hate the implementation of emojis.. I use this app as a place to literally vent my feelings. My profile is private and I only use it when I feel like I need to get something off my chest but I don’t necessarily want to talk to anyone about it. The app works fine the way I use it and I’ve been really happy with it so far. The only thing I don’t like about the new redesign is the emojis on the emotion screen when you post. They feel juvenile. I also don’t always find that the emoji’s interpretation match what I’m feeling. I wish you could turn them off. Otherwise great app. It helps me out on rough days.

Update this app is good, however…. I have been harassed on this app and I’ve been flashed by a woman and a man wanted to video chat me, also there are people out there promoting suicide to tell them to “kill themselves” I flagged it luckily. But here is my main issue about this, people can make multiple accounts on here to bully or harass a person on here if they wanted to and that’s not ok for someone to do that. It’s sickening how some people would want to fight one of another whether they are trans or cis or whatever they are. And people need to respect each other on what other believe in and step off if they don’t like the topic. That’s all I have to say about the cons about the app.

NSFW VENTERS BEWARE. This app claims to be okay with sexual post content as long as it’s tagged properly, but that is a very flimsy lie. They have cracked down harder and harder on venters who post nsfw content. Make no mistake, Vent is slowly banning nsfw content outright. There are already truly excellent tools in place which, used properly, can ensure no user ever sees nsfw content if they don’t want to. HOWEVER the vent team has recently become known for “pausing” accounts (locking users out) for hours or days with a vague claim of content or tagging violation, when no such violation ever occurred. I have seen this happen and experienced it myself several times. (EDIT: they also frequently lock the account for MUCH longer than they say they will. I know of cases when a “one hour” lockout exceeded 6 hours, and a “one day” lockout became 3 days. It’s blatant power abuse, something very wrong is happening with the management team.) If you think you will ever want to vent about your sexuality because you don’t feel safe talking about it elsewhere, DON’T make the mistake of thinking that Vent is a safe place to do so. It is not.

minor bugs yet annoying ones. the app will sometimes crash when responding to a private message, as well as just having bugs with messages in general, the bugs i’ve seen have been: - the crashing mentioned earlier - old messages will read as new, occurs every time closing and reopening the app. - some messages aren’t visible, although notifications are: id receive notifications from messages, check that conversation and have nothing, but when checking on my other phone i had seen the messages, even responding to the messages do not make the message appear. other than these bugs the app performs great ! and i’ve only had issues with these bugs within the last few months, the app community is very kind and organized, and i’ve not come across or experienced and other issues with the app itself or the community. keep up the good work !!

Lovely idea but horrible execution.. I’ve had a Vent account since 2015 and have been using it consistently since 2016. I LOVE the people I’ve met on it and have maintained friendships with several for years. However, the app is horribly buggy. My phone notifications haven’t worked for probably a year. The search function hasn’t worked for months. Currently the app will display an error when I try to post, even though it apparently lets the post go through anyway, so I always double-post and then have to go back and delete the second one. The app’s functionality is limited. There is no way to share pictures. You can’t format posts besides using italics (and that feature doesn’t work all the time.) The app’s userbase skews young (teens and early 20’s) and liberal, so if that bothers you take that into account. It really says something about how good the community is that I keep using Vent, because with any other app I would have left long ago.

Banned for actually being myself.. The app is hypocritical. I got harassed/attacked by at least 20-24 people for actually being myself, as the app suggests, consistently, for about 2-3 hours. Then I got banned, these people constantly posting messages on my posts saying things like #this #this #this. Or something like that. But it was mostly directed at like trying to tell the devs or whatever to ban me. And If you read the dev responses to some of the reviews on here you’ll actually see the devs are hypocrites. They claim “safe for everyone”. It can’t be safe for “everyone” if they ban certain people they personally do not like. So this app is not “safe for everyone” if they ban certain people they personally don’t like. It seems to be more of a manipulation tactic honestly. This app is full of corrupt devs. And they all are disgusting human beings. I can’t believe I’m even calling them human to be honest. But yeah the app feels very unsafe actually. It feels as if your in a war zone always having to tiptoe everywhere around people. Fearing you’ll be psychologically attacked for actually being “yourself”. You are not allowed to be yourself. This app is corrupt, hypocrites, and they lie. Never seen something so disgusting that tries to act as if it’s so innocent and pure that it protects everyone bwahahahaha.

Great app, but still have issues. I have been on this app since early 2015, and love the function and most of the community on it. I have made friendships that are now 2+ years and going strong, but the app could be better. First off, I have daily issues with my message notifications from within the app. I have my phone notifications disabled, but when the app is open it shows I have several new messages to open. When I click on the “unopened messages,” there is no new response. Also once I have gone through all “unopened” and exit messages, that number notification stays on the top right corner no matter what. Another issue I have more frustration with is that I cannot gift emotions. I have an iPhone 6s and am trying to gift to another user whom I have been mutuals with for over two years. When I click Confirm, it says “unknown product identifier” And does not let me confirm my purchase whatsoever. Although it will not let me gift the Candy emotion set, it has allowed me to purchase emotions for myself. This recent update was supposed to fix bugs, but I have been having these issues for the longest time. I have also commented on vents posted by this app’s Tech-Guy, and he replied to me with a “solution” that did not work. I explained the messaging issue more thoroughly and he did not respond again. I love this app and it’s purpose but am getting fairly frustrated because I cannot do simple things this app claims to have allowed in the most recent update.

Ad Placement Ruin User Experience. I really enjoy this app and have spent actual money on it in the past, but the recent update causes an ad to pop up after every time you post something. It really is ruining the user experience for me and makes me less likely to open and use the app as intended. I’d rather have to pay a little more for sets than have an ad I can’t close for about five seconds pop up after Every Single Thing I Post. If you have to have ads why can’t you do them every five or so posts? That way you can still get ad revenue and not make for a frustrating user experience. The last thing I want when I’m venting is to be sold things 👆

App is temperamental, at least for iOS. I had my account for three years now, and for the most part up to about a year ago it was amazing. New friends, groups to create and manage and new cute emotions- with the option to pay for those, of course. So I did. $3 a month. No big deal. Until the glitches happened. At first they were baby glitches that could be fixed with minor troubleshooting, but now the app will not open and when it decides to open it closes itself. Email after email and all the troubleshooting (removing/adding the app back on, signing out/signing in if it lets you open it to do so, updating your phone) in the world doesn’t fix this issue. So, if you’re planning to use Vent on iOS anytime soon watch out for this glitch. I currently check mine on a Samsung tablet.

Terrible staff, buggy app.. Vent staff will suspend or ban you for falsely made reports, are inconsistent with their rulings which just confuses users more as some people can say whatever they want even bigoted or toxic comments, harass others, and not get banned while others get banned at even the slightest mention of something unseemly. They use their own personal bias and vendettas as the base for whether or not a post will get taken down and when deciding whether or not a user will be banned/suspended. It makes me wonder why any of these incompetent fools are still employed. They need to fully replace their staff with people who can actually agree on a set of rules and stick to them instead of bringing their personal feelings into the rulings. They also rarely implement features users ask for and instead mess up and change things we never asked for. They're also terrible at preventing ban evading as I've seen banned people come back and make several new accounts in a day. This app would be wonderful under a different, actually intelligent staff.

Essential. I've used Vent since 2015. It's a place to vent and receive instant support at any moment, and especially the moments that you need it most. Much of the time when I feel like I have nobody to talk to, I hop on this app and write out my feelings. Once you press send, people from the vent community usually "hug" your post, and let me tell you, sometimes a virtual hug feels just as real. Knowing that somebody feels the same way that you feel is helpful too. Many times people will comment their support. I love the vent community and this app is one of the most essential apps on my phone. It helps me keep my sanity.

Use any other app if you need to vent.. This app is terrible and the developers and staff are worse. There are so many paid features which are enticing to children and others using this app. The staff exploits children, takes their or their family's money, and then gives it away. They let people buy usernames that are considered "inactive" (not logging in for a short period of time), and then will turn around and sell it to someone else as soon as they possibly can, essentially taking your money and giving you nothing in return in the long run even though it was promised to you. People are hacked constantly and have usernames, etc. taken from them and pawned off, and yet the staff does nothing about it. They do not care about their userbase. They only care about exploiting them and taking their money. There are pedophiles on the app which they do nothing about and instead ban users who didn't violate their ToS in the first place. Turn to any other app, or a journal, to vent your feelings. Do not use this one.

Love using it but man, is it buggy. I’ve been a user since 2016 so it’s been my digital diary for all the ups and downs of my life. But recently, it’s been super buggy as there’s a plethora of errors. I can’t use the search bar, I can’t look at my own profile and I can’t even post vents. And on top of that, some of the newly released emotion sets haven’t been on my stuff, even tho I have subscription where I have access to all of them. It’s been like this for a week now and even reinstalling doesn’t help and I’ve emailed them twice but there’s been no response so far I would love to hop back into this app because it’s been there for everything that’s happen in my life (good and bad) and to see it just basically giving me errors after errors to keep me (and plenty of others) from doing anything makes me super upset, especially since it’s the only social media app that I frequent to. I love how everything is set but I’m not going to be able to enjoy it if it continues to be like this. Please fix these errors soon! It’s so frustrating to see it go down this way 💔

Confused... Help?. So I have tried to sign up. I have finished everything until I got to the date of birth. It has you put in your date of birth, but it won’t let me. This app is for 17+, and I am 17. But it won’t let me put a date past May 13, 2002??? I was born in 2002 but way after May. Why is it doing this??? Is May 13 the latest date that is allowed? Please help! If I need to wait a few more months, that’s cool, I can wait. But I just need to know if that’s what I have to do. Please and thank you! I do believe this will be a great app, so I’m going to give three stars, for now. (I’ll change it later since I have to put a star review to post this)

Doesn't feel like a safe space sometimes. Never really feel safe sharing stuff. People just complain about how sad you are like this is twitter or instagram or something. They want you to post nothing but jokes and #relatable posts. They want you to lie and it made my situation worse, to the point where I left and attempted. It's still as judgy and cliquey as any social app, just most of the cliques aren't super mean. Pretty people sometimes get more attention and help, than the people venting about ending their own lives. I've even had people insult me for venting about my self harm (the post was tagged ofc).

I love it but....... I love using vent. I finally have a place where I can get all of my thoughts and feeling out there without feeling like I’m being judged. The only thing I hate ( mainly the reason why I’m not giving it 5 stars) is because it’s always some type of technical issue that for some reason seems like it’s never going to be fixed. It gets annoying at times...especially when I’m trying to open the app and it takes forever to do so. I keep having to refresh or open and close the app just for it to finally open. Like I said it does get annoying but I overlook it because I love this app.

very disappointed. I am quite disappointed in this app. When I have tried registering, it has said that my email was taken. Keep in mind that I had 5 emails and NONE of them work. I then later on used my friend’s email and hers didn’t work either saying it was taken... I am so frustrated because I can’t even get to experience the app without any of the email working. I even made a brand new one and it said it was taken. This really should be fixed where you’re able to verify your email once you make an account because it’s just so annoying how someone somehow steals your email. I hope you respond back on how I can properly register an account without it saying my email was taken.

New to this whole thing. I’ve only had it for about 12 hrs. A very good friend of mine mentioned this app to me. I can create my own profile and go to different groups and tags. This app is all about emotions and how you feel in the moment. Literally how are you feeling, every single emotion you can think of is on there. Then you just type away and it’s public, so ppl from ard the world can just comment or relate to you. & they can listen to you and follow you. I really am impressed with this app so far, & I enjoy about writing or typing my feelings out and getting other ppls input or knowing I’m not alone. I completely recommend the app! I love it (:

For anyone who wants to vent to anyone listening. This app is amazing, it’s really helped out a lot. When I have anything I want to share that I don’t want to be judged for (based on my past experiences) I post it there and people will give me virtual hugs and listen to me or give me advice. It’s a wonderful place and I’ve met numerous friends there who are all incredible people! Most importantly, I found the love of my life—my soulmate on this app! Really appreciate this app.. This app is really the only place I feel comfortable posting whatever I feel like. I feel safe posting whatever is on my mind on vent without having to worry about who will see. I really appreciate the work the founders/team of vent put in and continue to put in to keep the app up and accessible to us. It really means a lot to me and I’m sure other users, that the people in charge of the app care about the users.

Unqualified Staff. The app itself is ok, but only that. It’s features are limited and annoying, but the worst part of the app is the unhelpful staff. I’ve had my account locked TWICE for “adult content,” even though both instances either had them tagged properly as per the requirements, or NO adult content whatsoever. When I emailed them, I got nothing but automated emails with BROKEN LINKS. Compare this to the way I’ve been hassled with auto-following bots and other users degrading me for my sexuality! I have received no real help in my years using this platform, especially in concerns to my own safety, and I’m very upset with the actions taken by the “staff.” This app would be made so much better if they were fired and replaced with people who are actually qualified. Hell, a bunch of preteens on any given social media platform could do better than the “staff” currently employed. This is a disgusting display of unprofessionalism, and I hope this is resolved as soon as possible.

Great app but there's one big bug. I recently joined vent about a week ago and I truly love the app and how you can join groups and listen in on others but the app will not key em verify my account through email. I have clicked the verify button so many times I can't even count but it won't send the email. What makes this issue stranger is I get updates about other things related to the app from 'The Vent App' but I won't receiver the verify email which makes it not possible for me to listen to other people, interact with any vents, or invite people. I know this is not just a problem with my phone because I had another friend download the app and they have the same problem. Other than this huge issue I love the app.

It is a connecting app. 10 times out of 10 a person on the app can relate with your post 100%. This app can be used as a personal diary or journal, or it can be used as a app to post updated information. Let’s all support each other and spread awareness and love through this amazing app.

0 support. Ive had Vent for years and enjoyed it a lot. Never had a problem until recently. Will most likely delete and not come back. A user was targeting my boyfriend in a call-out post. Telling people to report his account for reasons completely made up. Also decided that to get back at my boyfriend, he would try to “steal me away.” He followed my account and started making mean comments on my posts. After reporting his account and posts numerous times, I resorted to asking for help in reporting said user. I included an image of the mean comments he’d been making on my posts. I came back to the app an hour later and found that my account had been suspended. I learned from a friend that the user who had been attacking me and others was still active and facing no consequences.

Irresponsible, rude, and nepotistic staff. Long story short, I’ve filed an intent to sue. I’ve spent large sums supporting Vent for 5 years. Only to get a spit in the face by staff. They are very ‘amazing’ liars too. Instead of actually working with you about any issue or situation on the app they prefer to delete, suspend or ban you. They now close tickets without answering them if they feel like they don’t want to deal with you. Don’t get this app, no one cares about you here, especially not staff, this app ruins mental health rather than promoting it. Don’t waste your time or money here. Hopefully we can get this app removed off AppStore & Google Play Store. I’m serving them now, and if within 30 days they do not respond to the email with the legal document, and get back to me with the settlement, then court it is. Wish us luck, because I’m tired of all of us having to deal with their negligence, and not having the power to do anything about it.

Was a legend. I loved this app! It was my own personal diary and I don’t want it to go :(. All I suggest is for it to have the time travel option again and to be able to click on an emotion to see how many times/ the past version of way you could tap on “nostalgic (for example)” to see what posts you associated with that emotion. I love this app so much and have been using it for 7+ years, I really really hope they bring this action back. I really do love this app so much but it feels like a whole new UI being used. Nothing wrong with advancing/ revamping, I just wish they didn’t delete the best aspects of this legendary app. Good job vent team though on keeping the app up!

used as a standard socmed. i and other people in my social sphere use vent as a social media platform, so i have no idea if vent works as a mental health app. however as a social media app, it does quite well. i particularly appreciate that you can post to "mutuals only", and i find the reaction buttons to posts really fun. generally it is really easy to curate your experience on vent if you know how to use the block button. as with the internet at large, there are some weirdos and jerks on Vent, but their block button actually works (unlike Sup lol!) in terms of critique, i find the new vent app design personally unappealing, but also unintuitive. if i were a new user i may easily feel overwhelmed by the multitude of features that aren't really explained to the user in an easily readable form. i also do just think the new vent app looks ugly; sorry. it sincerely is so clunky and boxy.

??? Doesn’t work. Expected content and wifi problems? Huh?. Wifi is fine. Idk what expected content means, I haven’t done anything different. Tried posting, same thing happens so I reinstalled and I gotta log in but the same thing happens. So yeah now I can’t even see other posts. It’s making me wanna cry actually. I needed to get it out. I was loving the app before these bugs came along.

Great app + some suggestions. This is really one of my favourite apps on my iPod the other being tumblr. It's just such an overwhelming feeling being able to talk about anything with strangers who don't judge you and actually care about you. Some suggestions though, add more emotions because sometimes when I want to post something I can't find the right emotion an that deters me from writing about it. But more importantly add a personal messaging system. I want a way to communicate to some of these people who help me.

Amazing and Helpful. I love Vent so much. It's so helpful and the community is so nice mostly. I just wish they'd remove the Popular section because I think it takes away from the meaning of the app. A lot of Venters who aren't "popular" are missing out on support for serious things while these "popular" people are getting soooo much support. I think this feature should be removed to make it a lot more even. Apart from that though, everything works well except a few crashes, and it's super easy to use.

Great app!. This app is fantastic. The community of users are very friendly and supportive, but it's also important to thank the staff. The staff of this app are very attentive to the needs of their users. They fix any bugs as soon as possible, and they generally try to respond to people who have suggestions for the app, often implanting popular suggestions. I have absolutely no issues with this app. It's wonderful.

Good app when you find the right people. I’m having an issue though, my posts keep disappearing from my Feed. It started happening as soon as I turned off boosted posts. They’re still on my profile and they’re still getting seen in Most Recent, sometimes at least.

Great app. I love it. It lets you vent problems, fears and insecurities to a welcoming and supportive community of truely amazing and inspiring people.

The safest community I've found so far. No app or site or forum is perfect, but Vent works pretty hard to make a safe place. AND they are very accessible to their community. If you tag them in a post with a question, I've never seen them not reply. They're active, caring, and they've built a place that people listen, build each other up, support each other, and we can easily block people who are hateful and harmful to ourselves others. 10/10, definitely recommend this app. It's good to get things off your chest in a healthy way sometimes.

Vent is a useful app. Definitely useful, good platform to vent and get things off your chest on an anonymous platform. If you are of extreme poor mental health, they do offer to hide triggering content posted by other users, which I believe you can customise on top of the regular options. However if you are of extreme poor mental health, take care of scrolling through the feed as it does consist of others emotions and feelings, take care in not taking anything on board if you can’t handle that. ❤️

Great app, yet.... I have been using this app since it came out, but lately when I've been trying to use it, it's taking 4 squillion years to load nothing. I have tried deleting the app, and have even gone to the point of creating a new profile... Please fix this! I love using this app and I can't think of a better app to use to take your mind off things.

Great App. i love using vent! i don’t like talking about my feelings but vent is completely anonymous and makes me feel safe and comfortable. I feel like I’m able to get what i’m thinking out in a nonjudgmental zone. it’s easy to use and pretty well organised. There’s a good selection of emotions and feelings that just keeps growing. Highly recommendable.

Good intentions but I didn’t like it. 1) it was kinda ambiguous on how you’re supposed to get listeners. Like do you just wait till someone requests? I got one request (a whole two days after I downloaded the app) and I vented to them AND THEY DIDNT EVEN REPLY and then a few days later they weren’t on my listener’s list anymore ?? do yall know how hurtful that is ?? 1a) it was kinda hurtful seeing “You have no listeners” when ur going thru a hard time 2) Very glitchy and has internet connection issues Honestly you’ll have an easier time venting on reddit or something

doesn’t work. i have tried numerous times with different emails to verify myself so i can vent and interact with other people but even after the application say i’m verified through the email link in the app it still denies it. i’m very displeased and frustrated with your app please fix it

vent is life vent is love. this app is my favourite app. It gives you the freedom to air what you're thinking, and allows people to know what you're feeling. sometimes it's hard to tell those u care about what's happening in your head and so u can listen to them on vent. even just strangers, I have a small group of people I don't know what they look like but I care for them. definitely worth a try :)

Vent is bae. I spend all my free time on vent. it's my go to when I'm sad, happy, stressed, angry etc.. whatever comes to my my mind when I'm feeling emotional I just open vent and express it.. I instantly feel better and what's more amazing is how sweet, kind, caring and supportive other users are.. It's not like Facebook where people roll their eyes, judge or make fun of you for having feelings.. It's not a place for funny tumblr or twitter jokes.. It's a place of comfort for people from all walks of life including gender/sexuality/mental health and race.. thank you for existing vent.. you're without a doubt a community that's a home away from home.. a family that care.. Where I don't feel isolated or neglected.. plus it's such a pretty vibrant place to hang out ✨💕

DOWNLOAD IT!. I love this app soooo much! It's the only place I can stay anonymous and vent. I've only been on it for like 30 mins and just love it. I used to vent on a private Twitter account but it's really nice to know that there are people who actually read your posts and can favourite it or send you a hug ☺️ Would definitely recommend Vent for those who have bottled up feelings, emotions and thoughts!

New update massive downgrade. There is no way to choose where old posts are posted to in the new update. We used to be able to, for example, change posts from public to diary now we can’t? Please fix this or explain how to do it. It’s also unnecessarily difficult to navigate and some of us DO NOT want our ages default shown to the public. Again please fix.

It’s good but lacking. I love the app but there is no website version of the app I can use plus the messaging feature doesn’t work for me AT ALL.

The community is a family and although sometimes we have difficulties, we get that past us and continue venting and helping each other. Helpful it frustrating. This is my first time using Vent since I was 15. Many updates! Very useful and ethical. However, I don’t know if there’s a glitch bc I have the app on my iPad AND iphone? Switching devices logs me out every time :/ very frustrating to type my password during episodes. Other than that, highly recommend as a mood tracking app and wellness centre <3

On point.. I have so many things to say, vent is an amazing app and I am glad that I downloaded it 5months ago. It feels good to let all your positivity and negativity out when you have nobody to turn to in real life. People actually listen to you and some even give you advice which is great. I like it how there is many emotions. Plus the new update is great, starting to get use to it! The best social network I’ve signed up and downloaded.. ‘Venting' is something I haven’t been able to do for a very long time; it doesn’t help that people in other social medias don’t encourage being able say your feelings/opinions online. Vent is a very, VERY helpful app that literally lets you vent all those pent up feeling be it good or bad. It helps encourage users to actually express their feelings in a healthy way. The community in Vent are so encouraging, helpful and friendly it’s different from what users in other social medias are like. The ‘hugs’ I receive when I post something that dampens my mood helps so much. The ‘omg’ or the ‘lol’ when I post something weird or something even remotely funny, cheers me up. Since downloading this app it has helped me deal with life just a little bit better. :) On a side note: I was wondering if the creators of Vent be able to add a passcode lock on it. As a ‘security’ for when we lend our phone to someone and we get a notification.

I love this app but this is getting ridiculous. I love this app more than anything but honestly this seriously needs to get fixed. Firstly it on more than one occasion won't let me get into saying my internet connection is down or something? Even though it's totally fine. I've tried everything to get back into it but nothing works. And don't get me started on my messages. Keeps saying I have 1 or more unread messages even though there is none and sometimes it crashes quite regularly. This is just getting ridiculous. Please fix this.

It's really good, just needs some changes. It is a really good app for staying anonymous and to vent anything you need to get off your chest at anytime. Would just be nice if there could be better response options along with more emotion options, maybe such as "helpless" "lost" "scared/forlorn" "frantic" "paranoid" "neurotic" "bored" and any other people could come up with. :) but it's amazing and you should get it.

Terrible. Great app to connect with people, yet so many glitches and the worst moderators I’ve ever encountered on an app. You get “temporarily” banned for saying ‘good for you’ to someone yet if people write racist, sexist, or bullying comments, nothing ever happens. It’s a joke. I’ll probably get my account removed just for posting this. It’s a disgusting app that makes Tinder look like a dream. Don’t waste your time with this trash. Update: sure enough, my account was removed without any explanation or evidence. Seriously, don’t waste your time with this app. Talk to a person in real life if you’re struggling or find a different app with actual adults with a backbone as moderators, rather than sensitive little children. One of my most used apps to date. This app was just a blessing to me because I haven't been able to get things off my chest for a very very long time, and I am able to connect with others who have experienced the same things I have and are able to be there for me and understand in a way I feel other people can't do. The whole atmosphere is just beautiful and so accepting. The only problem I've had so far is with the new update, as when I try to click on it on my Ipad 2, is stays on the logo but then crashes out no matter how many times I try. Pls pls pls fix this, thank you.

Great!. vent is a fantastic app that's concept is amazing and so empathetic. it really helps me to talk about my emotions. however, there are so many bugs that really need to be fixed. lack of connection when my internet is fine, constant crashing, the graphics being all over the place at times – sometimes it's a more stressful app to operate than relaxing. please fix these problems as soon as possible! thank you so much to the vent team. you guys are so lovely, and work so hard!! keep it up!!!

Good idea, has issues. I love this app. It’s a good idea and a fairly unique format. The people are generally pleasant. However… it’s absolutely full of bugs. Often the reaction button have persistence issues. Push notifications don’t work. Basically the whole app has been down for the last two days. It’s wonderful when it works. But it spends too much time not quite working. Edit: app was down for almost five days. Has since been largely fixed. Bugs are much improved, at least for the moment. Notifications are still functionally nonexistent.

Slightly unfair. It’s a nice place to let out some steam or meet other people that perhaps are feeling the same but I don’t think it’s fair to disable or delete accounts who share feelings that may be sexual. If people can talk about suicide, I don’t see why speaking about sexual experiences or feelings is wrong.

Vent NEEDS to add the creation of being able to delete DMs/messages with a swipe to the left and for us to be able to read our messages with previous mutuals who aren’t anymore and are private. It makes no sense why we can’t read messages from private accounts we don’t follow anymore.

they deleted account no refund. i had purchased every single emotion pack AND had full vent angel status and you people deleted my account. your "warning" email went to spam and now my stuff is all gone and support refuses to help.

Updated review. I’ve had an active account for years now and have used this app primarily as a personal type of therapy. My account was suspended for using the word mast*****ion stating I “exposed others to sexual content without their consent”. I think this is a bit of a far stretch and made me feel uncomfortable with myself when I was only expressing my personal thoughts and feelings freely, on my own personal profile/page. To add to that, this comment was not directed to anyone. Will not use this app again and will find an alternative after this. Very disappointed. I don’t need to feel shame for venting to NO ONE on an app. Content is constantly being monitored and censored and that doesn’t sit right with me more then stumbling across a sexually suggestive word.

The app is no longer functional, so why is it still in the AppStore?. It needs to be removed from the AppStore. Many users are confused when they try to download Vent and cannot use it whatsoever. I miss Vent but it needs to be taken down immediately as it is not a functioning app anymore! To those having issues, check their Twitter where they explained 2 months ago they are shutting it down but NEVER removed it from the store. Disappointing behaviour!

long time vent user. this app goes through many face lifts so i have to reduce points for that, however the premise of the app remains the same and for that, its a very helpful app; despite sometimes being a lil confusing due to remodeling and such. definitely more pros than cons, very helpful and welcoming community. some folks fail to read bios but eh, thats not the apps nor devs faults. good app overall

Not the way it used to be. The app was amazing and really relieving when there WASNT an annual charge. Back to when this app was 100% free, and all you had to do was post and wait to get support and help from others.

helpful. i got this app so i didnt have to bother my friends about all my problems and it’s actually really helpful. the only thing i’d suggest is a feature where you can lock the app so it’s more private.

dysfunctional at best. i love the users on the app & the posting features are unique and fun. the staff is absolutely the downfall here, the app is a buggy mess. the response time to issues is atrocious and there hasnt been an ios update in almost a year now. yes other social media apps are a nightmare but at least they are functional.

Best app for mental health. Vent has been amazing for my mental health. I’ve been using this app for 4 years, met all my most amazing friends on here. I love that it’s user friendly, and you get to customize your posts. Groups are fun too, but I post mostly just for my friends to see.

So many pedos on here. Downloaded this app around the age of 11-12 and got heavily groomed on this app by grown adults. I can only blame the app so much, however there is little protection for children and many nsfw posts on here. I wouldn’t recommend this app to anyone under the age of 18.

I hate the new update. This used to be one of my fave apps to let things out that I couldn’t share to my friends and family, but since this update, not only is my old groups gone, but I can’t even log into my old accounts!!!! 😤😤

Huge appreciation.. I this help has helped me vent and hear from people around the world giving you different perspective on life. The app it’s self is horribly designed and made. Remodel and remove the constant lag.

used to be great, not anymore. this app is really going downhill! constant error messages, they’re taking away features left right and centre, and now they’ve added pop up advertisements every time you post!

Normally 5 stars but…. So I’ve had this app since it was first made like years ago. It was crucial in helping me vent my thoughts and feelings about things going on in my life, and on occasion (in the right spaces) helped me discover my sexuality as a young woman. Vent was pretty much a saving grace for me for a long time. My issue? … I took a pause from vent for a few years because my life took a turn for the better and I was finding that I didn’t need the app as much. But I discovered eventually I really needed that space again… but I came back to find I had been logged out of my account without my permission (which I can understand happens sometimes with updates) but I was really upset to find that my years of journalling and progress and even my Angel wings, were all but deleted because I was considered “inactive”. It’s really unfortunate that they didn’t even warn me via email that they were going to delete my account. I understand the need to cut down on spam accounts and inactive accounts. But like… I had YEARS of progress in there. Like it would have been nice to be consulted first. The upside was that when I made my new account, all my purchases were restored despite having a new account which I really appreciated (but that might just be a Apple Store thing). Either way an amazing app. Just disappointed that I got deleted.

Good App. Love it, just wish it was more appealing on the eyes.

The Re-Launch made it worse. I loved this app so much, there wasn’t anything else like it. I loved the people I met there, the communities, they way people shaped it to become what it is now. However, the change that they made to the app is just one I can’t rlly get into. I don’t like the style, the layout, I miss the old EVERYTHING from Vent, now I hardly use it cuz it just feels bad. It’s such a damn shame, I was so happy when they said they weren’t taking it down but now it’s just bad, I don’t like the way it is anymore. The other vent-like apps are all the same too. Makes me so upset honestly..

Can’t get my email to work in this app. It says that I need to verify my email to do anything... I tried to verify it but it won’t send me a verification code... it says that there is an error... I don’t know why it couldn’t send me a code and without that, I can’t use the app properly which means I will have to delete it... can you fix this????

Will always be one of my favourite apps!. The bugs have been spotty the past couple years but I know they are working on fixing it, their customer service lately has been 1000/10 and it’s been a breeze working with them to get things fixed! I’ve had this app for 5+ years and I don’t think there has been a day I haven’t been on. It’s a great positive community and it really has helped me through so much!

Not working for me. Tried it once I wrote out a vent people requested to listen but I cannot except them without confirming my email in the email settings. The address is correct I must have sent the email 10x but it’s not in any of my folders. Upsetting when you can’t get support because the app won’t send you the confirmation email it’s supposed to

Irritated. I just downloaded this app I was told about it that you can talk about what your going through it’s true. But you don’t get real advice most of the people on here just talk about wanting to kill their self. It’s too much to read that type of stuff I been through so reading that I don’t want to take in cause people should appreciate life there’s some that have to fight to live because of illnesses that got no cure. But these people just want kill their self just because their lonely I’m always lonely but come on I don’t suggest this app I’m deleting it today I’m done

It's a great app with few flaws.. I've been using vent for about two years and made great friends through it. But the latest update with the groups was a hit and a miss. The groups were a great idea but if you delete a group and try to make a new one it'll say you have exceeded your group limit. I only have one group up and whenever I try to make a new group it says that. It's a shame because otherwise this would be an amazing app!

Night mode and minor issues. I’ve had this app for a really long time and it’s really great. I’ve loved seeing it improve over time but? I just wish iPhone users could enable night mode as well. :( There’s also the issues that often times it was say I have unread messages and it’ll be on old messages that I’ve already oppened. Aside from that it’s a very lovely app!

Keep Getting Banned. I have gotten banned at least 10 times for posting “NSFW” content without tagging it properly. I don’t post not safe for work content, it’s not my thing. Vent seems to be hypersensitive to people posting words like “sex” or “boob” and those words don’t have to be sexual depending on the context they’re used in. This app is rated 17+ but they’re afraid of their users seeing the word boob? Seriously? I’ve had to make a backup account because I have no idea when they’re going to ban me for no reason.

Mental health growth. I normally don’t have very many friends I can vent to. But VENT is the place where I can go to just put my feelings out there. It’s very therapeutic for me especially because I like to write out how I feel. It has definitely helped me in my darkest days. Not to mention most of the people using this app as well are pretty kind.

"Just now" issue. I've been using Vent since December 2014 and I love the app. The only problem I've been having is all posts say "Just now" as to when they were posted. I tried deleting and redownloading the app, tried restarting my phone, restarting the app, it still happens every time. I was hoping it might have been a common issue so it would be fixed in the next update but the app is completely up to date and it still has the issue. :/ It's been around 3 or 4 weeks that I've had this problem.

Recommend to Everyone. I honestly love this app, far more than I ever expected. I have never felt so appreciated and understood. Everyone on this app is seriously so friendly. I remember the first time anyone said "I'm here for you" broke me into tears. It was so inspiring to know someone is out there right now reading what I wrote and can empathize with me. I would recommend this over and over again.

Bugs make it bad. I used to love this app in 2015 and had an extensive account where I posted everything. I deleted the app after about 2 years but I recently downloaded it again to look at my old vents. I found my old account but I could only see like 5 of the vents before a glitch or bug prevented the screen from scrolling any further. I would love to use this app again and look at my old vents but I unfortunately can’t right now until the system gets fixed.

Worst App & Staff on any app I've used. I was a user for over six years and now I'm banned from the app for an incident staff won't even explain and 'moderators' staff has hired are sharing information to users on the app. Things that they even say would breach privacy! But there's no way I can even tell staff since they blocked my emails after saying apparently I harass and create hate groups! I'm a nb disabled person. I don't create hate groups. Not to mention the fact the app barely works, the staff could work at least!

Saving individual emotions?. great app! but i was wondering if at some point there could be a function where u can save or hide individual emotions? because i know that there are SEVERAL emotions that i wont ever use but i have to have the whole pack cause theres one i would, so its not so confusing/frustrating to find the ones i will use itd be neat if we could hide the ones we dont want like we're able to hide whole packs.

Awesome. This app is great, easy to navigate and nice to look at (on iOS at least). There is a lot of lovely people and the groups feature is one of the best updates so far. I’ve bought several emotion packs, too, they are cute. I just wish IOS had night time mode already :))) then maybe I’d use this app even more. How hard is it to make the background and text inverted? Like, come on, folks.

Liked the old vent better. I liked the look of the old vent better, but I recognize the difficulties the team went through to keep it online. Hopefully some changes in the future will make it closer to the way it felt before

Soooo. I really want to use this app, and put in MY ACTUAL BIRTHDAY, which is coming up in a bit, BUT I guess you have to be at least, what 18? Yeah that’s bs. People under that age need help too. Now, you might be saying “ oh, why not just wait until you turn 18?” Yeah, well if I don’t get these feelings out now, I’m not gonna make it to 18, sorry to break it to you. There might be a reason behind this, but honestly, I don’t care. I didn’t see anywhere where it said that you have to be at least 18 to join on here. MAKE IT CLEAR that you need be to 18 or older to have this. There are people who are under the age of 18 who need help too. Please reconsider that and make for underaged people too.

Has been getting worse :/. I’ve had this app for quite a few years and have loved it very much, but recently, it’s been lagging a lot. It doesn’t send me notifications anymore, and the performance is slow no matter how good or bad the connection is. I really don’t want to delete the app, I really hope it gets to improve.

Awesome. Suggestions: fix dm bug, allow viewing feed in listening mode only (no groups). Amazing app and invention. Please fix the bug in the dms where if you’re in the dms, and then you click their profile to view their bio and stuff, and then you click the back button, the typing box for the keyboard disappears Also, would be very nice to customize your feed where you only see posts from people you’re listening to without the groups, or the groups without people you’re listening to. It’s too tiring to manually mute 15 groups and unmute just to see who you are listening to, etc. Please add non-intrusive ads if it helps you get developers to fix these bugs. Ads that show up like a banner

Amazing app. I love the format when it comes to posting, you can just type away and let it all out or say whatever’s on your mind. The little emotion things are cool because I feel it’s a good way to spark something to come out when I want to start writing. Definitely an app that’s worth a try.

Great but has issues. I have been using this app ever since I was in middle school (I’m in my 20’s now) and I remember when this app used to be great and has very few issues and I just absolutely loved it. But now not so much. Half the time I can’t even open the app without getting an error message of some sort and it’s pretty disappointing how much this app has been going downhill and neglected. It still serves its purpose but not as well as if used to.

Really liked it, but stopped loading.. I click on the app to open it and I get an error. I’ve tried redownloading it, but it continues to not load. This has been going on for weeks. At first it was great! The search bar didn’t work, but I found ways to join groups, connect, follow and even potential made friends. There’s no notifications for messages. If your scrolling through a group, you have to completely leave it and then go and check messages. I enjoyed being able to express some frustration and happy emotions with others! Sad it stopped working.

Your app needs some changes. If someone is shown in your activity notifications and you block them they should disappear entirely off of the app from your point of view INCLUDING off of the activity feed. You should not be able to see anything from that person. Notifications of said person should be deleted automatically. Hell there should even be an option to manually delete notifications on the activity feed. How nobody thought this up is beyond me but it DEFINITELY should be a thing! YOU SHOULDNT HAVE TO CONSTANTLY SEE SOMEONE YOU HAVE AN ISSUE WITH AFTER YOU BLOCK THEM!!!!!!

THANK YOU. This app is so perfect for me I’ve always struggled in talking to people but this is a very safe and open place. I’m not very open so it’s scary but this app is helping me branch out. I’m also finding people in this app who are able to help. Fair warning though there are some perverts on here so be careful like you should on any site. UPDATE: Recently it has upgraded to 17+ so I can no Longer access the app and I think it should be available for people of all ages

Block feature. The purpose of blocking someone and deleting their comment is so you don’t have to see anything from them ever again. Yet, all comments live on in Activity. And if you don’t have a lot of activity, it’s hard for it to move out of sight. On twitter, once you mute/block someone their tweets disappear from the timeline right away. I really think Vent should get on this and complete the user’s ability to protect their self from people who leave toxic comments for fun.

It’s good to be back.. As a fan and user of the older versions, I definitely enjoyed those. I’m getting used to the new layout, but I’m overjoyed to see that the core functions are still the same. Still makes me feel safe after all these years :)

Overall pretty good. This app is very helpful when I’m feeling down. I can freely vent about anything and have people who are there for me. The only downside is having to pay for some of the extra moods. Though the free moods are just good enough, I could use the more elaborate ones. All in all I do recommend this app for anyone who is constantly needing to vent but has no one to listen to them.

Really great but could use some more features. I just wanted to suggest a few things for the apps, maybe add a way to find groups you’ll like with a hashtag system. so that way you won’t have to search for one particular group but find groups with different interests you’re looking for? Also maybe be able to post vents into multiple places at once? for instance post to a ground but also to the public or mutuals?

Great app for anonymous venting. It’s very helpful to have a place like vent where you can express yourself openly and talk about the things you don’t really get to say with people you know in person. The anonymity makes it safe, and the community creates an accepting and supportive environment. Perfect for when you’re really going through it and need people to talk to.

Bullies and Stans. I have been here since 2015, I am a dedicated member and I love the way Vent allows me a platform. Suddenly I’m getting called a fat whale, horrible named, and targeted because people decided to move over from twitter. I understand not all of them are like that, but they keep making more accounts and doing the same thing. Please do something.

Great app!. I’ve had this app for about two and a half years, and I love it with my whole heart. It’s a fantastic app to just let your feelings go and not have to worry about people knowing who you are, unless you don’t mind giving out your name of course. Me and my friend would use this app to let out feelings and it kind of made our bond stronger ??? I’ve also made tons of friends ! There are so many nice people on this app and it’s totally worth using !

¯\_(ツ)_/¯. i have been using this app since its early days. the community is unfortunately filled with toxic people and people who are simply cruel and unwilling to listen. there are definitely some great groups and friendships to be made here but you'll have to wade through an ocean of terrible people who will constantly bully and harass you. as for the app itself, the design is clearly flawed. the concept is incredible but the app has too many bugs to count. as of right now, i can't even OPEN the app. i wish i didn't have to give you guys 2 stars because this app really does mean a lot to me!!

Needed this. I downloaded the app maybe a year ago and broke my phone forgot about my account until about a week ago. I downloaded it again and all my stuff was still there and honestly I forgot how amazing it was to be able to say how I feel and have people understand or at least know that they are there. There are so many people that read it, react, and or comment, it’s just a great feeling to know that I’m not alone and it’s because of this app.

Tolerant to the point of intolerance. Vent app is a “safe space” for too many of its users, allowing self-admitted pedophiles and neo-nazis on their platform and ironically banning anyone who says anything about feeling unsafe. I had this app as a minor and was regularly harassed by older men and women making sexual advances, and Vent did nothing no matter how many times I reported those users, sometimes actually suspending me. It could have been great with even halfway decent oversight, but the developers simply don’t care and regularly ban people who criticize their app or way of running it (even polite criticism). Vent is more concerned with keeping a larger user base than actually keeping their users safe and protecting the purpose they claim their app is for. Only certain groups of people can safely “vent” and unfortunately those protected groups contain pedophiles and nazis rather than kids who need it

Creepy creepers and hard to reach staff. I think this app is for creeps I’ve only Had it for about two weeks and immediately there was someone deeming me creepy things talking about how they could see me and that they were jerking off to me it was really creepy tried to report them but I couldn’t reach staff members and it was very annoying. I know I can’t blame an app for other people’s actions but should still be able to notify someone or at least report the page and it was really hard to do that. I will continue to use the app and see if anything changes but for now it’s one star for me

very disappointed. I am quite disappointed in this app. When I have tried registering, it has said that my email was taken. Keep in mind that I had 5 emails and NONE of them work. I then later on used my friend’s email and hers didn’t work either saying it was taken... I am so frustrated because I can’t even get to experience the app without any of the email working. I even made a brand new one and it said it was taken. This really should be fixed where you’re able to verify your email once you make an account because it’s just so annoying how someone somehow steals your email. I hope you respond back on how I can properly register an account without it saying my email was taken.

Changes everything. It may take you a while to gain traction in the app, but it changed everything for me. I’m the type to not express anything, and just be stoic all around. This app allows me to say what I want to say, without any sort of judgement. I recommend it to nearly everyone I meet. It changed my game And I might change yours.

Allows Nazi Sympathizers and Adults That Date Minors. This app's staff is so incompetent when it comes to the reporting system. They only care about getting money and when you report people making nazi jokes, defending neo-nazis who post antisemitic garbage, and adults who like to groom minors, they don't do anything. However, if you try calling out this toxic part of the community to protect people, they delete you. I will be reporting this app to Apple and Google to have it removed because it's just full of Nazi sympathizers and harmful adults having sexually charged conversations with minors and it's not the safe space it advertises.

Was a Great app before, now not so much.. This app has way too many issues. It wasn’t always like this but now there always a loading issue/ error and it takes awhile to even get my vent to post. Been using it so much less since for that very reason. Made many friends on this app and it felt like my safe space for awhile but probably won’t be using it anymore once I find something similar that actually WORKS and doesn’t have constant bugs/ loading issues/ errors.

A TRUE LIFESAVER. At least for me personally, Vent has been extremely helpful. I was skeptical at first and I was hesitant to try it, but once I joined it was like a huge weight was lifted. Vent is a place to talk to others who are going through what you are, it’s a way to express yourself in a non judgmental place. I’ve made many friends from Vent and I recommend it to anyone who feels like they need to talk.

I understand they have the choice to purchase specific things of the app, but I feel as if it should be completely free for people who may need whatever the app has to offer. Great App. I have been using this app for a very long time, and I have never once been dissatisfied with it. They have added so many features recently that really increase the interface too, and work with the community with what we want. The staff are very polite and respond very quickly. I love this app and would recommend it greatly.

Sadly Busted. I love this app, but there are so many error codes and loading issues now, it’s unreal. What’s funny is that the app didn’t have these problems at this scale five years ago...how do you DOWNGRADE an app??? Now that there’s paid emotions (yeah, you pay to feel things) you’d think the extra income would go towards fixing these bugs, but it doesn’t seem like it. If you’re just looking for a diary app that still feels like someone is listening to you, this app is great for that. Just be aware that you might not be able to load other people’s vents, and you might have to tap ‘post’ an extra ten times before it goes through.

It’s what you make of it. Like anything else in this world you have to make the most of it and put the effort in but the team behind this app really cares. The information is good and helpful. This could make all of our lives a little easier. My new favorite social

I love this app, I would always use tumblr for the same idea of this app but I have to many ppl i know which I wouldn’t allow me to vent freely but now I can I love the whole layout of this app too! Only additional feedback is allowing a cover photo on your profile instead of just having a solid color would be awesome

It’s a good idea but the community’s pretty bad. The whole idea is great, the emotion packs and their names, the interactions, the way the profiles are layed out, that’s all great, but what isn’t really great is the community. You could be dog piled and told to be banned because you made a post about liking chocolate over mint flavored ice cream, you could very easily be ridiculed because you didn’t get some of the things people are saying. Most of the users are incredibly toxic, and I don’t say that much. They’re all always looking one for little mistake you make in a post or comment to then attack you for and again dog pile you and even send you death threats. In short, bad toxic community, good app layout I wish there was a separate sort of app with the same layout it with different people, so I could go hang out with the nicer more understanding people, while the very toxic sheep/zombie/follower whatever you want to call them keep attacking and piling random people for saying one tiny thing wrong.

iOs App Extremely Slow and Often Doesn’t Work. I’m new to vent and pay for a subscription. Sometimes I can’t vent at all even after restarting the app. Specifically when I press the vent button the app will open the window but I can’t type and it loads and loads and loads. I think that I should be able to post without waiting endlessly for the app. Otherwise I really find it fun and like it.

Messaging. It’s great for the most part just wish I could delete messages without soft blocking people. I hate a full inbox it feels messy and if I haven’t spoken to someone in awhile I’d like to just delete the message. It’s even harder bc I can’t softblock deleted accounts but the messages are still there. It’s very cluttered. Other than that love the app, been using it for years.

An amazing self care tool!. I have used vent on and off for years. It is very therapeutic because there is no real way to find people you know in real life, and the majority of users are very positive and t just feels good to have strangers listen. Also, the private diary feature is a great way to track things that are either too personal or just too frequent to post publicly. I use it to record my dreams. This is a fantastic app!

Silenced, can only vent to myself. Ihad my account deleted after a year of no use and now i can’teven reach out to their support. I feel unable to vent, silenced,and chockholded. “I just wrote how i am really bothered to have my account deleted when i need it most. And then i try to submit feedback and that is not allowed either. It’s like you’re joking and doing the opposite of what your app is for to let me express my pain. It’s really notokay to destroy people permanently after just a year break and then 2 weeksntoice.”

My Virtual Diary. I don’t know how I went so long without knowing about this app, but my friend recommended it to me and it’s become a safe haven. I get a lot of therapy venting my feelings on social media, but I don’t actively use it so vent has turned into my diary in stead of Twitter. Super cool, you can meet a lot of really interesting people, and there are so many who are supportive if you’re struggling. Would definitely recommend.

Bugs + Staff = Terrible App. I have been on this app since 2016. In this time i’ve witnessed countless bugs, countless innapropriate staff comments/actions, and countless exploitation. The bugs make this app nearly unusable. Your techguy has done nearly nothing to fix these issues, theres constant double posting, sometimes it wont even post, etc etc. Everything is broken and it’s hard to even use the app. Either fire techguy and replace him or make him sit down and do his job. Staff does no better though. People with criticism over staff are suspended, people who aren’t even breaking RULES are suspended. Staff suspends whoever speaks out against them like some sort of social media dictatorship. I’ve seen it countless times from my friends. They also wont allow “name dropping” which in most cases is us trying to warn about abusers or pedophiles, in which the running joke is now “pedophiles and abusers come to vent! you’re protected here!” Don’t bother with this app until serious changes are made.

ok. people don’t actually care about you on this app. and I think the whole follower and likes count also diminishes the idea of self worth and feeling like what you feel actually matters.. I feel like it shouldnt be about the followers or the likes it should be about people sharing how they feel without judgment. Ive also come across some rude and judgmental people on this app and it doesn’t help. This shouldn’t be like social media with a follower count, I think that adds to the stress more than anything. The concept is cool but it isn’t that effective in reducing the stress in my opinion.

So good. Honestly I was SO skeptical about this app. But it really has improved my life at home. I used to get in fights with my parents all the time over things that bugged me but now it’s like I have a community who understands and isn’t biased. The diary feature is great because it allows you to write things but not share them publicly. There’s really nothing on here that I don’t like. 14/10 recommend :)!
