Needs free trials. Idc if i have to pay a subscription because thats what i expected but theres no option to start a free trial so the only way to use it is to pay. Why would I pay without knowing what to expect??

Best one. I LOVE THIS ONE IT HELPED WITH ACCENT AND BETTER THAN DUOLINGO. Duolingo teaches me how to say “silver hair” or “feet” and has bots that’s why you guys should do this app instead I love app soooo much omg.

Very glitchy!. This app is very glitchy. It often stopped, didn’t read my voice even in a silent room and the phone close to my face. The instructions would change languages and it gave random feedback. Cancelled after the first day. Really disappointed

Stuck behind a pay wall. Cannot even try without having to go through a paywall.

Cuts off all the time. The ai will just stop mid conversation and won’t respond. You have to end the call and it won’t update any of that progress. Not worth the money.

Scam. I signed up for the free trial assuming I could cancel if needed. However, the subscription did not appear on Apple and there is no way to cancel in app. I deleted the app, thinking that would stop the app from charging me. IT STILL CHARGED ME. Also the actual functionality of the app is just not good. It doesn’t even work as advertised.

Most chaotic learning app. It’s pure chaos. There was no guide or explanation, first thing out of the gate “how do you think say, I wake up” - I have no idea, that’s why I got the app. There’s also no text on screen to read and follow and the AI feels like it’s talking non stop. It’s almost nauseating. Now I know why they don’t offer a free trial, no one would get through it… asking for a full refund.

Has potential. Could be a great app to learn languages if it wasn’t buggy. The instructor’s voice constantly fades or disappears before they finish instructions/questions, and the app consistently thinks I’m trying to speak when I’m not. A shame you have to purchase a subscription before being able to try it.

Glitchy. After 5-6 mins it just stops working and repeats the same phrases, sometimes the sound doesn’t come out or it won’t pick up what you are saying, the conversation typically doesn’t flow very well.

great but some fixes. Having visual words on what to say would help and to not move so fast also having other activities instead of just throwing words at you to remember. Also after 9 minutes it stops working

Not worth it. As the title says

Don’t waste your money. every time I go back to the app, it starts from scratch as if I’m talking to the bot for the first time. It teaches me the same thing every time. And I have to lead the conversation. The boy sometimes stays silent until I exit. There is no level placement test, so it’s teaching me basics even tho I keep telling it I’m level B1, and everytime it inteoduces itself again. So frustrating.

uhm, it was mid. the app will stop responding when it can’t understand you and you just go silent bro. I was trying to talk to them but it was silent. After that, they can’t evaluate them once you end the call. No performance record and you have to start all over again. One turn-off is there is no organized study plan, it just a role play and you can ask whatever you want. For fun and a bit of learning in down time would be a yes but for long term learning is probably no.

Great idea, terrible execution. The chatbot constantly cuts you off before you’re finished saying something and cannot properly hear you. It glitches a lot. It asks you to say something three times and it lets you say it one or one and a half times before talking again. To make matters worse, it asked what my favourite Mexican street food was and I said “Elote” and it said “¡Tacos, excelente!” I’m a no sabo kid so my pronunciation is not THAT bad to say the least. It’s actually laughable. Great idea though.

There is no trial period. Be warned.. First of all, there is no trial period. You have to pay up front. This was my first mistake. I paid for a whole quarter thinking it would be something I’d love. So the AI is not helpful in learning a new language. I’m not sure what I was expecting but it wasn’t this. I was hoping that it would be more like having a teacher. In actuality it is just having conversation. You don’t really learn the language, you just parrot phrases. The AI often tries to end the lesson prematurely and I have to get it to continue.

Love but crashes. Probably the best language tutor experience I’ve had so far. I’m glad to have found this app but sadly it crashes and sometimes when I move onto my next lesson, there’s no longer audio. My assumption is this can be a buck fix. I would give it five stars if so.

Not so good experience. The app does not have free trial or anything and making me pay the package immediately. The A.I chat box cuts me when I speak, even more terrible experience when they don’t have the in-app assistance and non refundable if I purchase with Apple pay. I emailed to have the support but receive no response. Although the app teaches the actual language and works pretty fast, the rest is terrible because I can’t even log into my apple account on a different device. Not recommend to nay of my family or friends.

Actually helps you speak the language. Most apps just teach you to read and write but LingoTok focuses on actual conversation which is what you really need. The voice practice is invaluable for building confidence. Learning Italian and I can already have basic conversations with native speakers. Sometimes there's a delay when the AI responds but it's not too bad.

Very glitchy and doesn’t tech. I got this app after seeing several ads on social media and honestly, I thought it would be helpful but first they’ll ask/tell you how to pronounce something and then it’ll just expect you to know other stuff. For example, when you type numbers into the custom format, they’ll ask you how to say 123 while also telling you how to say 123 but then I’ll ask you OK now how do you say 20… When it didn’t teach you how to say 20… Teuida is MUCH better

this is what language learning should be. as someone with social anxiety the idea of talking to real tutors terrified me. this lets me practice speaking without the judgment. i can mess up, sound stupid, and the AI just keeps going. my mandarin is actually improving and i never thought id say that. only cọmplaint is i wish sessions were longer

Finally an app that makes me SPEAK. Every other app: tap tap tap read read read This app: actually opens your mouth and talks Revolutionary concept honestly. Yes the AI voice isnt perfect but its good enough. My Korean speaking confidence has skyrocketed. The conversational scenarios feel realistic too - ordering coffee, asking for directions, etc.

Warning. I have read a few of these reviews and a few people are having the exact same problem I am having. Can’t set up the account, always taking me back to the subscription page after I’ve completed it , can’t sign in because My Account had not been created?? I almost uninstalled and reinstalled but decided to read reviews first thank goodness! Had I read the reviews before I started, I could’ve avoided so much trouble.

Do not download. It makes you go through more than 20 screens process to sign up, provide information just to find that you have a roadblock to pay for the free trial or to give your information for the free trial without even testing the app. They don't deserve a penny because they're making people download, go through all this process, leave their information and then they force you into this payment roadblock. You can't ask people for money without even probing your value proposition. Delete.

Poor customer service. My issues is trying to cancel/ deactivate my account. The only way to do it is by emailing the company which I have. The email states they’ll reply back within 72 business hours. It’s been more than 72 business hours and still no confirmation that my account has been cancelled/deactivated. They don’t provide any other form of communication other than email. This is very frustrating and poor customer service!

Not worth it.. Great idea, terrible execution as others have stated. It literally cuts you off, and sometimes when you’re answering it just…times out or something. It hears you but doesn’t respond. And it expects you to know words already, and doesn’t show you any of the language as you speak. If you already know a language, it may be a good study partner for conversation purposes only but it isn’t worth the money spent. Fix the bugs and execution and you’ll have something good.

To many glitches. This has so many glitches, it will stop hearing you. it will randomly start loading. It goes so fast and It doesn’t even let you process the word that is teaching you. The screen goes black every so often I have to keep tapping it or I will lose the progress and we’ll have to start my daily routine over again. She cut you off every time or does not understand what you’re saying. I pay $50. Three months this is totally unacceptable. They should be a free trial. I guess now I know why there’s none.

Sneaky and doesn't let you cancel subscriptions. I tried to go on my settings to cancel the subscription and out of all the subscriptions I had this one wouldn't pop up I even went through all of the apps I used to have with subscriptions and it still didn't show up I tried to redownload it and sign into the account but since I used passkey it wouldn't let me do the same so now my card keeps getting charged for something I don't even want and I'm scared to even put money on that card because it might try and take it

Better than my $40/hr tutor honestly. My cọmpany is relocating me to Madrid in 3 months. Been doing twice-weekly sessions with a human tutor but I only get to actually SPEAK for maybe 15 min per hour. Rest is grammar explanations and exercises. LingoTok is pure speaking practice which is what I actually need. Using both now but honestly considering dropping the human.

Doesn’t hear you properly.. I was saying the phrases correctly, but immediately as I said them the words typed up were German? And I got them “wrong” because of it. Edit: I tried reloading the app, ie closing it from the background. The conversation started with no sound from the AI making it impossible to know how the word is meant to be pronounced. I didn’t have an option for the “free trial” so I’ve paid 50$ for an app that works when it wants to.

Oh em god. So i downloaded this cuz i want to learn Japanese and im only 14 i dont have 50 bucks to pay to use ai so i was gonna use it without the subscription. Google and the description too i think both said that you dont have to pay to be able to use the app at all but it wont go off th screen to pay like let me talk to an ai teaching me Japanese without paying 50 bucks or let me actually be able to do sm without paying.

First time. This is my first time using this app. I want to say, so far, everything seems great! I am completely blind and use VoiceOver; this app seems accessible so far. This makes me very happy. As far as my experience with Sara, I am requesting that she slows down when she's introducing a new word. She speaks them with a normal inflection and speed; I have to constantly ask her to repeat the word and slowly.

charged me $50 but didn’t let me create my account. I was excited to use this app but I lost 50 dollars and nothing is working. I can’t log into the app to stop my subscription and my Apple account says I don’t have a subscription with the app. I then tried to go back into the app and it makes me have to pay again. I looked at my purchase history on Apple and it says it was all free while on my card it says 50 dollar charge because my 4 day free trial ended. I didn’t even get to use it!!

SCAM!!!. I signed up for a 3-day free trial and was told I could cancel anytime through settings. However, when I tried to cancel before the deadline, there was no clear option available. I was still charged after the trial ended. Customer support was unhelpful and did not resolve the issue. The cancellation process is misleading and not transparent. Users should be able to easily manage or cancel subscriptions without confusion. I would not recommend this app based on my experience.

No. Stick to Duolingo. This app isn’t good.. when you start a lesson, first of all the pronunciation is horrible from both “ai teachers” and they talk way too much in between which for me messes me up with pronunciation. It needs to be more flawless and smooth back-and-forth.. whereas instead it will ask you to say a word, but then it will carry on about how good you’re doing instead of just letting you talk and focus on the lesson. Add much rather prefer a real person to teach or to just go back to Duolingo. Zero stars

Trying to steal my money. I genuinely was so excited for this app seemed pretty cool. So I got it in pretty sure it showed me an option of paying to continue then i started using it wasn’t really working out didn’t really like it. So i deleted the app and cancelled my subscription 2 months passing by keep getting charges from the app mind you I canceled my subscription so i downloaded the app again then the account i use to pay for it didn’t work ig so i made a new account i keep getting charged try calling my bank nothing worked

Attempted third party charge. I attempted to cancel the 3 day trial and they made it very difficult. Now I have to get a new card as I keep getting charges I never authorized as I don’t use this app. Didn’t use it outside of the first 2 days. I attempted to cancel on the 2nd day because it thinks by speaking to you in the language you want to learn is how you’ll learn. It doesn’t make sense. Then it’s like “oh you got a 60% on this. Do better next time” I’m like how do I do better if the app isn’t trying to help TEACH? It’s not helpful to me whatsoever.

Very fun. Just started today I’m currently learning Mandarin and she made it so fun. You’ve probably seen those TikTok‘s where the people are crying and stuff. It’s literally an AI that listens to your voice not the text that your voice produces, but how you pronounce it and stuff which makes the pronouncing part really easy/fun. In Mandarin It’s all about pronunciation so this is amazing.

Bugs. I would be able to rate this a five star if it weren’t for Alex and Sarah not speaking when I call them. Also, when I end the lesson, it takes to long to show me the results of how I did so sometimes I have to restart the app. Please fix this LingoTok, it would be appreciated. Thank you

AI just as delusional as the others. As an intermediate (former fluent) speaker with perfect pronunciation from a lifetime of bilingual experience, the AI seems to “mishear” very often. Causing user frustration as well as inaccurate progress tracking. Why pay for a program that isn’t quite up to par? Especially at that price point, there’s lots of other apps, and even hiring a teacher online would be cheaper in the long term since you’d reach results faster.

Trash, scam. Spent $6.99 for a week, immediately regret in less than an hour. It only has voice features. It interrupts you. Bugs out and will restart and go over the same words in the same call or it will just simply not reply to you at all. Their pronunciation is bad. I pronounce something how a native would say it and it tells me my pronunciation is wrong. One call, it even started with instructions in my target language and I had to remind it my settings were for English instructions. Don’t waste your money.

Great. It's a wonderful way to be humbled, get on-demand speaking practice without the embarassment in front of a person. My favorite part is that it's very engaging, customizable, and caters to your life. When it asked for my favorite dessert in French, I gave the English version, and then it translated it to "tarte a citron vert" which is key lime pie.

Doesn’t work half the time. The AI voice doesn’t work half the time and I have to keep restarting the app and even when I try to speak to the app without the AI voice halftime, it stops in the middle of the lesson. It’s really frustrating because I don’t even have the free version. I have been paying for this app. And the app troubleshooting button at the bottom does not even let you submit a report to fix a bug so therefore I have to leave a bad review

Using this daily for spanish. So I do a 15 min session every morning with my coffee. It's becọme my favorite part of my routine. The AI feels like a patient teacher who never gets tired of my mistakes. I've tried language exchange apps with real people and the pressure was too much. This is perfect for me. FEATURE REQUEST: please add ability to save/bookmark conversations so I can review what I learned!

Dumb subscription. I was only here for a free trial, but apparently they manage my subscription on their website, and doesn’t mention it anywhere else, not even on their own app. And I wasn’t late on cancellation either, it said I was running on free subscription on their app, and I was confused, because I knew I had a free trial. and I couldn’t find it on the apple subscription, or their app subscription either. And turns out they specifically monitor only through their websites, and now I have to pay 20$.

Wow AMAZED. saw an add on fb and it was so funny, gave it a try the same day and i love it. I love how natural it sounds. When I first started it lagged a bit, the words (closed captions) weren’t the same as what was said by Sarah. But she’s chill now i just had to exit the app and open it again.

It’s trying to take my money. I’ve seen a lot of ads about this on tiktok so I wanted to give it a try. They had a free trial so i decided to do that just to test if I really wanted to spend 50 DOLLARS on this app. I tested it out for a few minutes and found out I wasn’t the biggest fan so i canceled my subscription right away. Tell me why I cant download ANY apps because it’s saying I owe this app 54 DOLLARS I don’t have that type of money right now. So what am I supposed to do? When I know FOR SURE that I canceled this dang subscription??? And when I try to contact the support team it takes me to a PDF Tutor, this app is a scam!!!!

wish i had this in high school. Took 4 years of Spanish in high school and graduated basically unable to speak. All those conjugation worksheets and reading exercises but zero actual conversation practice. Using this now at 28 and learning faster than I ever did in school. Speaking is a skill you have to practice by... speaking. Revolutionary concept apparently lol

I’ve canceled twice now. I hate to be one of those people but I’ve already canceled the subscription twice now and you guys still keep sending me charges to pay the $50. You sent me a payment after I already deleted the app and then I went to the website you sent me after I activated my account I canceled my subscription. I just now had to do the same thing again by activating my account clicking the button to not cancel the subscription then go back and then cancel it once more. Please stop trying to take my money. Is it free or not? (please fix this!). SO… When Me and my daughter were trying to get into the app I was like “oh this is so nice!” and the app was giving us this survey on our goal and why we’re learning it. Then! My child left to go to the bathroom, and I helped her with her “signature“ then the app said we need to pay- I was like but this is free why am I paying?? So…. MORAL OF THE STORY: Try not to trust things you just see without proof.

Good app but not as many language choices as other apps. I am trying to learn Farsi (Persian), but unfortunately the app doesn’t offer that language at the moment. Other than that, the app is fun and easy to use if you are interested in learning one of the other languages they offer.

Will not cancel my subscription!. I am extremely disappointed with my experience involving LingoTalk and the way this issue has been handled through Apple. I attempted to cancel the free three-day subscription before it ended, yet I was still charged. I emailed multiple times prior to the trial expiration and received no response. There was no assistance, no confirmation, and no effort made to address my cancellation request. The lack of communication and customer support is very concerning. My father is also extremely upset about the situation, especially given that I am a minor who was using this app. The overall experience has been frustrating and disappointing due to the failure to respond and resolve the issue appropriately. I would strongly advise others to be cautious and ensure that cancellation requests are clearly confirmed, as customer service has been unresponsive in my case.

No option to cancel subscription??. I keep trying to reach out to support to help cancel my subscription but no one has responded. The app won’t let me manage my billing, and even on my phone under the usual app subscriptions, this app is not showing up on the list. All emails I send go unanswered or otherwise bounce back. No website or customer support. Bad app. Needing to go through my bank as I see a pending charge after what was supposed to be a free trial. Don’t fall for this scam!!!

Can’t get past the first onboarding screen. The first screen that comes up on both my iPhone and also when I tried to download it on my MacBook asks me to “select your language tutor” with a button that says “next” but is unable to be clicked (I’m assuming until you select a language), but there are no language options or any other text for that matter to be selected on the screen. So essentially there’s no way to move forward or use the app on either Apple device platform.

Needs Work. Struggles to connect, not as fluid as could be especially compared to other AI platforms. Non-traditional learning methods and platform, which does have his advantages. Advertisements were funny, but the program is still pretty rough. Struggles to connect at times, and treats it like a phone call, causing other phone calls to possibly not go through. Had a few calls that were not pushed through due to the app.

Worse experience. I tried to use this app and it made me pay a free trial to use it and there was no other way to use it so I had to use it and had to pay 20$ for the monthly but it said I can cancel whenever and would notify me before my trial ends. I tried canceling before hand because I just find the app fit for me but there was no option to cancel and it didn't show in my settings or anything. I deleted the app and it's still making payments to my card and I still have no way of canceling!!

Very poorly written and not worth even 1 dollar. This app is horrific. It’s poorly written half of the features don’t even work and it’s not even set up to help you learn the language. It literally just tells you how to pronounce something and then expects you to say it back. The app also expects you to know words in the language that you’re trying to learn already for example, the app will ask you “how do you say menu?”I don’t know how to say menu because you haven’t taught me yet. This app is trash.

Not for serious learners. Very frustrating to use. It teaches you about 2 words a session with no practice. When you insist that the tutor practice more with you, you get like one more prompt. There are some nice things about this app, including the report after the session and being able to have language instruction in any language you choose, but useless for practicing for more than a couple of minutes.

Has the potential needs work don’t spend your money. Makes you subscribe immediately, sadly I did the long one 😂 it has a lot of potential but the bugs are ridiculous and I only have been doing it for like 20 min max. Ai will “type” something but speak something differently a lot so I don’t know what do even say or do half the time. You will ask clearly for more advanced in my case Spanish and it sticks with teaching “hola” even if you are speaking at a more advanced level.

Not really worth it. The app is good with pronunciation and conversation , however if you don’t know anything about the language before hand it is very difficult to memorize what your learning with how fast it moves on and expects you to just know . It does bug out but it returns to how it was before. Google Translate is almost the same thing but this is more advanced I hope to see this improve as I did pay for the quarterly (on accident)

Korean Casual Bot is Incorrect :(. The more casual korean tutor bot, “Sarah” is absolutely sending people offffff D: the pronounciation of 떡볶이 it INSISTS is correct is insane and it has an extremely strong american accent. I’m just getting started with the app, and the other bot Alex seems to be totally normal but I don’t like that immediately based on what little knowledge I have that one of the bots was so completely wrong. Brings up my cautions about AI in general…
