Great app.. Everything on the app makes it easy to operate as well as understand easily. The only problem is we can't view news which are broadcasted from Doha. Once when they never had broadcasted from the US, they left the broadcast from Doha on the net. Now after they started the US broadcast they don't let us view the Doha version. I hope they'll let us view the Doha once they leave US. Altogether I wouldn't want them to leave. Give yourself some more time. Hopefully your viewership will increase, you are leaving the battlefield of broadcasters when the elections are nearly at the doorstep and your viewership could go off the roofs.

Good news for most part very biased on Israeli Palestinian conflict. It’s great for the most part it’s very biased on the Palestinian side going as far as supporting terrorism take all that info with a grain of salt other than that it’s a pretty good news source

EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED!!. Can't watch live steam from the US?!! I got this app when streaming from the US was available. I loved it. It was the best app had. The older version was amazing. Why change it?! I am giving this app one star for the sole reason of the live streaming being taken away from the app and website!!! How come I can stream Al-Jazeera Arabic all the way from the Middle East and streaming is not available from the UK?! It makes no sense. The whole reason I downloaded the app in the first place was so that I could stream the channel. Please add streaming from the US! Al-Jazeera America is ok compared to Al-Jazeera English. I liked Al-Jazeera English much better. I watch Al-Jazeera America regularly, but have always enjoyed being able to watch Al-Jazeera English (in fact I started watching Al-Jazeera English first and still prefer it). I enjoyed watching it to get a European perspective. Please provide live streaming to the US again!! Us Americans are starving for REAL news. If live streaming is not reintroduced I will delete the app, just like I did the Al-Jazeera America app (no point in having that one either since their is no live streaming). The whole reason I downloaded the app in the first place was so I could I stream the the channel. If streaming continues to not be allowed from my location their is no point in the app taking up valuable memory on my smart phone.

Not as unbiased as I once thought. For a long time I appreciated Al Jazeera, feeling that it really was as unbiased as it claimed to be. Now I peruse the news stories and find that it is so biased and full of agenda that I feel like they are no longer giving us the real scoop on issues. Don't get me wrong, the iPhone app and the Apple Watch app are really well laid-out and easy to use, but that doesn't make up for what is blatantly skewed reporting. Most every story now, I'm finding, should bear the label of "Opinion" because there is nothing objective about it. Whomever is in charge of approving the stories put out should really take a step back, put their personal opinions aside, and remember their promise to the readers that they would present both sides of the story in a fair manner, free of biases. I guess I'm back to looking for a more objective news outlet to keep informed of world events. Thank you for the work you do, Al Jazeera, but it is time to find someone who does it better.

Downgrade. Interesting articles - latest app version is so horrible, I can't be bothered to use anymore. Visually a messed-up mashup of images with some titles that leave you guessing if it's an article you might be interested in. Really just a pain to sort through. Not clear - trying to be slick in appearance but achieves nothing but a frustrated experience - in addition, the latest version you can not read the stories once in the NY subway system whereas the previous version was easy to do so. What an awful new version of this app.

World wide journalism on full display. Al Jazeera (AJ English) has continually shown itself to be the epitome and standard for integrity in the broadcasting of “citizen-led” journalism throughout the world. There are many stories that would never ‘see the light of day’ were it not for AJ English. As we have seen in recent years, the active attacks on investigative journalism has led to both government suppression of freedom of thought and beliefs, and the will of the people being heard and listened to. The people have a voice in AJ English and that voice speaks for the betterment of all mankind.

Pages are jumpy.. I’m trying to read the article, the pages jump up and down when I’m trying to scroll up on the page. But like just now when I was looking at these comments that other people had left the page was scrolling smoothly the way it should. But the actual articles that you’ve got for some reason or jumping up and down when I try to scroll up.

My go to for all things in and near the Mideast. I am so thankful for this app and news organization. Too many "News" organizations don't get it and these journalists are putting their lives on the line to get the truth out! When the Arab Spring occurred they were brilliant by using blog methods because so much was fluid on the ground. They made it clear what was and wasn't vetted. But it made those facing the changes and dangers able to get word out in real time. We are still in an unsafe period and it falls to each of us to get informed so that we can help educate people to the terrible conditions, genocide and human rights abuses that are a daily part of life in too many places. AJ News thank you from the bottom of my heart and keep up the great and important work you manage to do daily and sometimes by the minute!

The News I Want but Don't Get. Here's the deal. Al Jazeera went off the air here in the States a little while ago. Unfortunately they were one of the few stations offering unbiased (or as close to unbiased) news you could possibly get, but they're no longer on TV. They do have an app though, which seemed great at first, until I noticed a fair bit of quirks. Most have worked themselves out, except for one BIG one; the apps logs me out every time I exit or leave the app. It's incredibly inconvenient and it prevents me from getting news updates on the fly. I'm satisfied with everything else, but I find myself using the app less and less because of this bug. If it can be fixed (and there are no additional issues to deal with), then I'll be one happy camper. Otherwise, I'm content knowing that I can still get quality news through this app even though I can no longer watch it on the tele.

Love the opinion articles but they recycle old articles that were false.. Example: opened app today and an article on the home screen says 'ryan lochete robbed by gun point in rio'. That was 9 days ago and, as we all know, it was a false report. Regardless, they've got it on the home page as if it is news and are continuing to spread the false info. They also carry reports for years ago. The longest I've seen is 39 months. That's no longer news, its historical archive. I like the different takes from western media but I wish it gave more current news.

Best news option: but needs to self-critique. Still some of the best most prestigious and trustworthy journalism, opinion, and news. Great non US-tainted perspectives that you won't find elsewhere. Unfortunately though, as of late Al Jazeera has been mimicking other outlet's front page coverage of NKorea, trump tweets and some other far more preposterous fear tactics. I hope Jazeera will take step back towards privileging other people's stories on front page, I know it can.

This is true journalism. Since Al Jazeera closed its broadcast news in the US, this app has become a reliable substitute to the largely skewed domestic propaganda. I have been pleasantly surprised by the balanced approach with which Al Jazeera presents world coverage of the news. They are not swayed by national, religious or other parochial interests, a standard that even the world's purported democratic leader finds difficult to attain. It is little wonder they are hated by Arab and Western countries alike, especially countries whose hypocritical actions frequently place them in AJ's crosshairs. Keep reporting the news and we will keep reading and sharing them.

Excellent news source. AJE is one of the few true news sources available. As an American our ‘news’ is mostly opinion and/or surface level news with much gossip and fluff. AJE reports and gives in-depth coverage. As for the opinion pieces I like that I can get coverage of the Middle East that isn’t pro-Israeli position. In the US main stream media coverage of Israel is always slanted to favor Israel and Palestinian voices aren’t heard at all.

BRING BACK THIS APP!!. The new app is so bad it's unusable. Bring back the one!

NON-fake News for thinkers seeking equal justice!. In a time when we are told that up is down; that black is white; that lies are truth; that fiction is fact; that wrong and might is really right, just because...; and, that if you don’t agree, you should just disappear, or you will be disappeared, it is refreshing, while painful, to read and see reality. Thank you!

Awesome.. No other source but here. Unfortunately all other media outlets are too America biased. At least I know they’re slant. They aren’t bought and paid for by companies. It’s a hell of a lot easier to see a slant here,because of obvious pro Arab views. With American tv I have to sit and watch uncontrollably awful commercials selling “don’t pee on yourself pharmaceuticals”, or corporate journalism. One day we will learn though. Hopefully. That way I can receive American news again. once the news corporations turn back into journalism, I’ll watch them all. But until then I’d rather know the slant and not some companies bottom line. Thanks to podcasts like joe rogan, dribble will turn to adult and we will learn integrity. Hope.

Real news. Western mediua let us down. I am a white 65 year old midwestern mom. Gazans deserve the support of all of us. NPR, CBS, CNN, all of them got this shockingly wrong. So now I get my news from Al Jazeera.

excellent app. excellent news source.. This is a truly stellar app from a superb news source. As an American I appreciate access to world news; Al Jazeera provides content unmatched by any other news app I have used, and I use several. The only gripe I have is being unable to select words to look up definitions. Also, I have issues with crashes at times but issue seems to resolve itself. Still a five star app in my opinion.

World news. I work a lot, so I barely even have time to watch or listen to the news in the U.S. (i wouldn't even want to with Trump in office.) When I do get the chance, however, I love that this app can give me news from Africa, to Europe, to Asia, to Mexico/Canada, and back! I appreciate the notifications of new News on my lock screen of the reality of the rest of the world.!

I can catch some stuff on cnn late night and all we get over and over is the gorilla thing and the presidential crap. Just the facts - no agenda. Absolutely the most fact-based new source I’ve found. AlJazeera provides world-wide coverage that seems to get pushed so far to the back (although I only use my iPad to read the news) that I just don’t find them. The app is easier to use than the web page, so it is definitely worth it. I really can’t imagine why I didn’t think of this sooner. AlJazeera, keep it up!

App crashes. The iPhone app crashes while opening. It’s been long time but don’t see any improvement.

Better than NYT Now for news. I go to Al Jazeera for my news more than even the NY Times. They have greater breadth and depth without any fluff filler. And I find out the good news as well as the bad. I used to use Al Jazeera America before they folded. I'm very sad that we Americans couldn't support them. I'm glad there's the English version to go to now. My only complaint with this app is that there isn't a way (that I can find) to sort by most recent—they're just jumbled up together, an article from 16 days ago next to one posted 3 hours ago.

Great, In-depth coverage. I count on a lot more than US news to give me a thorough view of the world. I learn and depend on you for excellent Middle-Eastern, Asian, African and US coverage. In a very short time, you have excelled in covering both major news and important and very interesting stories globally. Your recent story about women struggling financially in Myanmar made me cry! Nothing about the social turnmoil. I was drawn to Aljazeera for their analysis of facts and fair reporting. However as a French national living abroad, I cannot express enough my disappointment as nothing appears in any media or Aljazeera about the social yellow vest movement or the recent social uprise there last 5 weeks in France that is consuming the country at all levels of the society. Once again it shows the complete boycott of it by all media. How can a population of 65 million struggling with their current Président Macron and it’s government be ignored unless that Lexus like all others is being bought and managed by big corporations friends of Pdt Macron? Very sad. #nomorefreepress!

Amazing Unbiased truthful reporting. Apart from the HQ being based outside the Anglo-American sphere of influence, this news station simply speaks truth to power despite constant bombardment (its headquarters and journalists where literally attacked) from dictatorial regiems. Don’t listen to those you say this is fake news. Just give it a try. As an African I find it the best most current most objective news source that does not contain any ulterior motives. The app could have a nicer UI but apart from that even the app is of a high standard.

Follow the money.. Got that right! For your edification the deal between the news media and Bill Clinton in 1996 was the beginning of the love affair. The networks were afraid that they wouldn’t get there share of the new available frequencies that the FCC was splitting up at the time. The Clintons needed air time and at that time were next to broke. The Clintons promised the Networks special consideration after the election for air time. The deal was struck and we got Clinton. The networks got more than their share of the best new available frequencies. It’s the best example of selling political favors ever. Thanks for asking the question!

Reasonable for international news, bold opinion pieces. I read the AJ seeking a more international slant from regional news sources. For instance, during the US 2020 presidential election their articles were not optimistic about the projections, and they turned out to be right while the NYT ate it’s own hat. AJ journalists seem to inherently get a lot of hate without good cause — I’ve come to find that levels their reporting. Perhaps some people are turned off by their opinion pieces, but that’s what they are, Op-Eds! They make me think even if I don’t agree. As for the app, it could use some attention, but I’m glad it’s available.

No Issues with Al Jazeera; just the app.. This news, never biased and always globally mindful, provides concise yet detailed glances at almost anything you could want to know of current events from anywhere. The app design interface proves solid, but AJ definitely must make an investment in updates. Those of us who love AJ are already loyal, but the lack of "wow-factor" in the app's workings could loose prospective new readership.

Says I'm not on the internet!. Update May 24, 2015: Maybe there is something behind Al Jazeera's refusal to live-stream its content in the U.S. Guess how many billion dollars of military hardware Qatar buys from the U.S. military-industrial complex. Meanwhile, RT, one of the few alternatives to Al Jazeera, is plagued with bugs: infuriatingly frequent crashes and buffering delays. Now, I don't believe in conspiracy theories, but... Update March 3, 2015: It's still lousy: when I click on live streaming I get this message: "Content not available from your location." Well, I'm in Florida; I wonder just what "location" I should go to in order to watch Al Jazeera English on my iPhone; maybe I should go to Qatar, where the studios are located. Al Jazeera America is still rubbish, too: just articles gleaned from elsewhere on the internet. Zero stars before and zero stars now. Completely worthless! Previous review: Something is wrong with this app: when I try to access the content, a message says that I'm not on the internet! I can't access any content at all. Then I downloaded the Aljazeera America app, but it's not worth the trouble; it's just a bunch of articles that you can access on lots of news aggregators elsewhere from Yahoo News to Business Insider to Flipboard: no original content, no streaming either audio or video. Don't waste your time.

Thoughtful, professional. After being so disgusted with typical mainstream media in the U.S., I decided to give AlJazeera a try-a third party perspective if you will. And it’s been such a breath of fresh air. I so appreciate getting thorough stories on current events without the rhetoric. Editorials are where they belong-in the editorial section, and even with those, I appreciate the viewpoints. I appreciate the global news coverage and stories to get me out of this self-centered political hell we find ourselves in here in the U.S. Thank you for your coverage that reiterates the U.S. is not the center of the universe no matter how much the politicians would have us believe so. Two thumbs up! Keep up the great work!

A viable option for news.... So, noone cares of you are white. ANYWAY, it is a technically superior app that makes it easy and efficient to watch live news and connect to different sectors of al Jazeera English. They obviously have their own biases (there's no major news outlet on earth that doesn't) but the fact that AJ tries to report news from all over the world and from various communities and experiences in the form of the typical news format, news specials and documentaries makes them stand apart.

Unbiased, raw, and educating. As an American, it’s difficult to find an unbiased, raw, and real journalistic approach that features life as it is in the rest of the world. This is what REAL news looks like- honest coverage of topics most Americans have remained blissfully unaware of or ignorant to. Always enlightening; highlighting the struggles, trials, and tribulations of peoples in turmoil with un-scathing honesty. AJ America undoubtedly outshines media outlets such as Faux news, CNN, and NBC news. It’s a broad spectrum international news site that will open your eyes to world atrocities spanning the entirety of the globe.

My new favorite news app. AlJazeera has long been my favorite news source, but I ignored them this past year because their old iOS app wasn't up to par. This new app is everything I hoped for though! The super condensed listing of of news articles makes navigating through more content faster and easier. I can dive into content across categories much quicker!

Issues?. What issues? I was curious to see that issues stemming from lack of content to inability to access the audio or video stream were not present. The app categorizes news sections succinctly and displays enough headlines on one page to get a good sense of current news. Further, a reviewers contention that Al Jazeera has been bought out does not seem evident at all.

Thank You. Been there with you since Al Gore days, sad when US tv ended. The Keyboard Warriors piece was well put, reminded me of further back with all the fascists and colonizers urging the need for persecution of the Vietnamese for desiring self-determination. Keep up the fair work, everything has an agenda but yours at least doesn’t try to jump us in a back alley like our home-grown products!

Fast, accurate, least biased. I have tried a myriad of sources for my news, but they have all been opinionated. Aljazeera has also got one of the most impressive turnarounds for finding and reporting news stories as they occur. Still take some articles with a grain of salt, if they show bias, which isn’t often, it’s very slight and it’s left leaning. Of course that’s not including their opinion articles, but those are clearly labeled. Aljazeera also covers a variety of different world issues which makes them consistently interesting, there’s always something written about one my interests. PS: I did wish in their opinion articles they would include some slightly more conservative ideas, especially regarding Israel. If they already offer those, I been able to sort through the stories to find any.

How to watch in AMERICA. I know if you click on this to read this that you were utterly upset that they stop the English version a couple years ago and even more upset that the American version is gone as well if you want to watch this in the USAA you need to download a proxy to change your IP address to look as if you're in a different country let's say Canada then you'll be able to watch it cyber ghost for cpu and cellphone is a good one to try out also I heard kodi was pretty good to

Great journalism, terrible app. Al Jazeera is quite possibly one of the top news outlets on this planet. Journalism that isn't at the expense of authenticity to protect American interests is at a premium these days. That said, the UI is terrible with this app. I've never seen an app that is so buggy and tricky to page down. Scrolling up is smooth, but in order to scroll down, you have to continually lift your finger and press back down to scroll. I'm a fast reader, like many people are, and it's important to have a way to scroll down quickly to be able to read at the pace we normally read. Otherwise, it just becomes tedious and thus easier to read in a browser. Fix this, and I'll happily change to 5 stars. Five stars for the journalism. Negative stars for the app.

Almost great again, live streaming not restored - so lame.. I've been an AJE user for several years. I used to watch for hours daily. Stellar news source on multiple levels. I wish AJE would restore last thing that they had ruined, limited, in their service for the US audience - live streaming. It's ridiculous not to have it!!!! Videos and articles are great for in-depth, prepared material, but NOTHING replaces live coverage of the parts of the world we have no access to otherwise from the US. AJ has missed the marks so widely it's a wonder they survived. AJ America? It was more US news, which we never wanted or needed. Obviously. You cut us off from AJE completely. And it all failed. Fortunately we now have access to AJE again, except for live steaming. C'MON PEOPLE!!!

Chris Ackerman. I used to get 24/7 live coverage at eastafro on the internet. I virtually watched the channel all the time. Then due to whatever legal reasons "livestreaming" in the USA is no longer aired. Now I watch other world news channels. Al Jazeera is by far the best I've found! I hope it will become available again in the USA. I signed up for your weekly newsletter. In the letter please give broadcasting updates on this issue. What I've come to expect from Al Jazeera. A great source for well-written, thorough, and captivating articles that Al Jazeera and its contributors provide free to its users. Subjects are organized in a way that is easy to navigate and the widget puts forward interesting headlines in a way that's similar to apple's news app. Unbiased and factual journalism is much appreciated and the wide breadth of topics keeps me using this app during my free time. Thank you so much to Al Jazeera for this service and their hard work/dedication to reporting as it should be.

Thank you for all that you are.... I use 4 apps for news and this is my favorite one in many ways. Your news is raw and reality. I can select topics, or countries, or skim top stories. It has helped me avoid America’s news almost entirely and I get real facts out of you about everyone instead of the selfish naive land of America. Thank you for all that you are... Keep improving and being the voice we need. Even my friends are starting to use this app often. If you like this app download the SCMP app (South China Morning Post) as well. I use NPR and The Atlantic as well for more sophisticated topics about the US.

Needs an update. All of a sudden my news isn't updating on other news sections, such as in 'Central & South Asia.' It was working fine about a week or so ago. Another thing is that for us U.S. folks, we can't watch videos/watch live without connecting to a VPN. For those interested, you can download TunnelBear and your problem will be solved. Although, it would be best if we didn't have to do this every time we wanted to watch something on the app. Regardless, I still give it 5/5 stars because Al Jazeera is still better than American news.

Aljazerra provides truthful non opinionated news.. As a USA born Syrian heritage Muslim, I look to Aljazerra for accurate truthful news that is not found in the USA. I served in the US military in both Iraq and Afghanistan and was bombarded by propaganda that it became humorous to read the garbage the troops were provided by our USA news organizations. Thanks to Aljazerra I can read an article not having to question the veracity of the writer.

Incredible Improvements. I followed the old Al Jazeera app because they had consistent coverage. Though their articles often have bias opinions, seeing another side of an issue promotes understanding. That all being said, one thing that frustrates me with the old application was its poor writing (automatic translation function error it seemed?) and an equally unappealing user interface. I was thrilled when I saw an update for Al Jazeera and upon opening the app, I couldn't have been happier. Beautiful UI and equally concise and direct writing.

No commercials. Best way to go.. CNN is for libs. Fox is for conservatives. Aljazeera is for Muslims, and their content is much denser and thicker than fox or CNN. Fox and CNN are mostly shallow content and commercials every 30 seconds. Aljazeera is the best I've found for news so far.

Most Fact Based News Source. I was searching for “ real news” and found Al Jeezera news App. It’s now my only News Source. I’ve found it to be the only in biased new source available. I’ve seen complaints that a person/ persons can not choose which news they wish to read/ hear. I think these people are missing the whole reason why AlJeezera news is so important!! It gives us the fact based in biased news that’s happening all around the world and not just in one sector of the news. If you don’t want real revelant news this is not the station for you.

Hard to scroll down. There seems to be an issue where it is hard to scroll down - scroll down as with any other app and it bounces around and then scrolls up. Scrolling up is smooth though. Makes it hard to read articles.

Investigative journalism appreciated. So good to see investigative journalism with stories far and wide. Our local news channels seem to just copy each other these days and sometimes feels like they get their news from Google. We only hear mostly local news and covid stories and with lockdowns it is easy to become complacent and forget other countries have so many other things to contend with in addition to covid so we really love your channel and I love clicking thru to the app … your investigative news stories and brave and talented jouros are much appreciated.

Too many intrusive ads. The advertisements distract from the fine journalism

Slow and poor navigation. Even when the app doesn't freeze it is painfully slow and does not allow for the easy navigation that the old version allowed The content is also fairly questionable - when a news article cites an Al Jazeera news person as a quote - seems like a circular reference to me. Also, there is such a limited amount of content - for a global news source like Al Jazeera, this is pretty pathetic. Don't bother with this app

Great info, app needs updating. App has become very hard to scroll through over the past month. Jumps all over the place as you try to scroll through a story

English Language Barrier. Ladies/Gents, I live in Australia and I like to read Aljazera news. Editors use Shakespeare language. I don’t think ordinary people who make high per cent of your news readers enjoy reading complex word article. Use simple language to attract more readers. Example I read Trump article and I came across word “ affront” which means insult. Hope my suggestion goes to higher management to adopt soft language approach to your readers n audiences. Freezes my phone. I have narrowed it down to this app that causes my iPhone to freeze after using. It freezes up for few minutes every time I open. I really want to read news with Al Jazeera perspective but it is almost too annoying to go into. Wish this could be fixed

Video problem. Doesn't allow me to watch videos now

No audio, has been fixed. Is AJ streaming in HD now? I wish there was a way to reduce the bandwidth the stream uses. Audio channel is kicked out and I need to lip read. And no, phone is not muted Ok. A day later, the visual stream is blocky/pixelated but sound is back! Thank you to whom ever helped out here. Speeds where I live rarely get above 80kB/sec Thanks for such a great news centre

Listen live is gone 😭. Please return listen live as it doesn't use as much data as the live video. So disappointed & wish you had said you removed listen live in the update description.

Great app. It's great app with great news to keep track of news around the world but I think it's time that an update to fit iPhone 5 screen to be released

Dark mode. It would be great to have a dark mode, I often read in bed late at night and would much rather apps have dark modes. I don’t use your app much because of this.

Issues. I love this app read news from all across the globe. However off late there seems to be some issue with the app. While you are reading a news and try to scroll down the news doesn’t scroll down and even if it does it’s not smooth but in jerks. I have an iPhone 12 and have deleted and reinstalled the app with the issue still persisting. I am not sure if the problem is just with my phone or with the app in general. If the developers can look into this, it will be much appreciated.

Failing to scroll … 👎. After updating my latest iOS, to 15.1 I can no longer scroll any item. When attempting to scroll, the initial display refuses to scroll and it starts being jittery, flicking rapidly up and down. I have found this app quite useful in the past, however I’ll now place it my departure lounge, where, if this issue is still happening after one month, the app will be deleted.

Simple interface. Loads quickly. Love it.. Simple and informative presentation of articles. Compared to some other news apps I like the speed of AJ. It has one minor error - as it opens I get a message to "try again". Then it opens a second later without my doing anything.

Terrible, poor, slow, disappointment. Always freezes, you think they would fix the many bugs by now, why do they even bother having an app, watch the life stream on you tube instead and save the memory in your device

Good app but no video. Good news source but a lot of the videos on the newsstream don't have audio!?

Is COVID 19 over?. I have just logged into searching for world updates on the COVID situation from a different perspective. I could not find a single story. Sorry am I missing something?

Live function troublesome. There used to be the odd problem with the live function freezing from time to time but now it freezes quickly and often plus it accelerates through video and then the sound stops. Just unusable in its current form sadly. Please bring back earlier versions!

Great for middle east and Western newa. One issue is the fonts are too small, needs an option to increase size.

Unable to highlight words or phrases when wanting to clarify the meaning of a term or phrase. Please allow the user to highlight a word or words to search their meaning allowing to make sense of the article without leaving the app. Other than that good app with good information on important topics. Too glitchy and. I wish your app was as good as your tv service - the app is really glitchy even when simply scrolling or sound doesn’t play when watching videos and news isn’t uploaded regularly or quickly enough. Please spend a bit of money to improve the app so that it is in line with other agencies such as the Guardian because I’d like to read your news more often (but your making it really difficult)

Functional app with good news / UI. The app works fine, no real issues - not much more to ask for from a news app. Can read stories and save topics etc.

Slow videos. Your videos are almost impossible to view. They take such a long time to download that unless you have spare time to sit and wait for them, you cannot play them. Almost every time I try to play one of the videos I end up giving up. Even when they do play, they keep stopping constantly to catch up with the download. I’m not technical but other news site have a far more acceptable technique for playing their videos.

No sound. Getting used to the layout but for some reason when I play the videos .. There is no sound!!!

Freezes. About once a month the app fails to open. And the only thing you can do is delete the app and reinstall it. More than a year has gone by, and yet it still freezes once a month when trying to open it. Over a year and they still haven’t fixed this bug??!!

Too Bright. Excellent journalism, among the best. But this is a review of the app, not of the news. The app is glaringly white, bright, consuming battery and crying for a dark-mode. I’d be on it a lot more often if there were a choice between light and dark. As it is, I think it far too bright, even garish. Apart from that, excellent

Complain and compliment. This app has been working pretty good until last week since then it’s been freezing and cant scroll down or up I think western media not liking it anymore and got somebody to make this app go through malfunction…keep up Al Jazeera god help and bless you…

Canadian Truckers Protest. I am disappointed at your article because you are parroting the Main Street media. I was using your articles for a broader view of the world, not main stream. It is obvious from this article you are not polling the people that are actually there and participating. I have friends that travelled from Sarnia to be part of the protest and they are on Facebook reporting the real action, not the Liberal $600 million paid for journalism we see now all over the world. Shame on you and your methods of reporting the news in Canada!

Scrolling is horrible. Ever since the latest update it has become jittery when trying to scroll reading articles. As soon as you touch the screen or try to scroll up or down you end up several paragraphs away! They need to fix this for a better reading experience.

Like it but constantly have to reinstall. I check your site with along with AP and Reuters and BBC and CNN and CBC daily and I love your content and perspective but your ap keeps freezing and I have to delete and reinstall. I’ve had to do it at least six times now and I’m on the verge of giving up.

Crash on iPhone 8?. The app no longer functions since the iO update. Deleted the app; reinstalled and nothing. I’ll try again next month.

Influence from the West. Al Jazeera has big influence based on western media. They do not give the news as is, they simply try to play a western media narrative.

New to app. On my iPad it only works on horizontal, won’t go to vertical when I hold iPad on vertical.

Discontinued. This app no longer functions; if you try to open it, the only available page is pushing you to get their new app, which unfortunately feels like a downgrade in every way. Don’t know why they haven’t updated any of the information on this store page to reflect the discontinued status of this version.

Worth reading daily. The news is well researched, presents the detail in a clear and concise manner and I trust their integrity. Well done!

Difficulty. I have an admittedly aging iPhone 6s+. It is difficult to watch videos - the ads come on 1st, of course. The hang up/freeze after 8-10 seconds (each story/article is the same). It remains difficult to watch, as the news feed runs out of data or freezes altogether, again. I enjoy the journalistic style - but the technical matters discourage me from coming back to it. Have let it rest now for more than a year. Still the same problems, despite a different mobile phone.

Scrolling Issues. Scrolling in main page works fine. Once you open any article, it’s very difficult to scroll down and have to swipe very fast multi times. Problem started a while ago, and with many updates still no improvement. Please fix.

I Iike Al Jazeera but the app is bad !!!. I really like Al Jazeera and the quality of news the have. But the app itself can be very unstable sometimes. I just had to delete it and reinstall it cause the app had accumulated 3.3gb of documents and data even though the size of the app is 131mb. How is that even possible. And then you consider the last version of the app was updated 2months ago.. seriously C'mon guys. You can do much better The app isn’t optimized for the iPhone 12 Pro Max. And even with the latest update the app is still unstable. This is very sad considering Al Jazeera is owned by people who have enough money to give their users a better app

No Search function. Wait ... what? There is search functionality in this app. Am I the only one that likes to search for specific topics?

Videos don’t have sound. On iPhone XR here and videos will play without sound.

Old version vs new version. I really like the news coverage and ease of use of the older version of AJ English app, both on my iPad and iPhone. I find the new version on my iPad to be unresponsive at times and becomes hung, or stuck, in a live news portion of the app. I see no way to back out of the section I’m in. Deborah

Be careful what you believe. Al Jazeera has sided with Hamas and is very one sided on what they report about Israel and the conflict in the Middle East. Hamas has been using Al Jazeera as an asset to provoke Israel and the U.S. and to falsify what is really going on.

Scrolling problem. There is a defect in the software of the current iPhone app. It is necessary to use 2 fingers to scroll up or down within news stories (but not on the main page). It has been like this for several months. I use an iPhone 10 with iOS 15.2.

No news is bad news. I just downloaded it, opened it, and am greeted with blank pages. I was hoping for more. Something like news...

No video sound. Used to love this app. I would put the live video on as I got ready in the morning. But this year, after ads were added to the videos, neither the app on my iPhone or iPad emit sound in any of the apps videos or live feed. I decided to delete the app and just watch the YouTube live feed. It sucks though and I wish they would fix this bug.

Links to articles are screwed up. The links to read the full stories are all over the place. Couldn’t read a single article.

Garbage new. If your looking for one sided views this is the news for you. If your looking for new with intelligent points look else where.

Type hard to read. Your light font choice and light grey font colour makes it very difficult to read your app. Lots of eye strain... Please consider reviewing other news feed apps, they are much easier to read. (Black and stronger font family).

At one time I thought Aljazeera was a breath of fresh air. Not Anymore.. After reading your articles on the Canadian "Freedom Convoy", either you are full of Crap, or your only news source for Canada is the CBC. No, the convoy is not full of White Supremacists, etc. etc. etc. It just really about Truckers who after two years of essential service don’t want to be mandated the vaccine. Obviously the vast majority of Canadians feel the same way, looking at their HUGE support. I feel bad that I didn’t know you were bought and sold like the rest of the mainstream media, I was hoping for a little better since you live halfway around the world from us.

Love the content but the scrolling is awful. The content is great. However, the scrolling logic is very bad making it jump back up frequently. You need to do very short swipe up’s to drag the article up and read more. If you go longer it inverts the direction making you scroll towards the top of the page.

Adsterra is the most preferred ad network for those looking for an alternative to AdSense. Adsterra is the ideal choice for new sites with low daily traffic. In order to advertise on the site in Adsterra, like other ad networks, a certain traffic limit, domain age, etc. is required. There are no strict rules. Sign up!

Needs a few changes. A good app with decent navigation, but the iPhone's social options aren't good. There needs to be a "copy link to article" feature in addition to mail, FB, and tweet, for those of us who prefer to use Gmail instead Apple Mail or want to message a link instead of just tweet or post to Facebook. Otherwise, an excellent app for reading. No comments on live stream or live radio as I have not tried those.

Relevant news!. A lot of American TV like CNN, Fox is just propaganda these days; all of their anchors and people interviewed are clearly acting and staged. Including CNN, which doesn't go a single hour without talking about banning guns. Al Jazeera is one of the most dependable news stations you can watch. Quit watching mainstream media and you may actually learn a thing or two!

Best news app by far. Incredibly well-designed and feature packed. Very efficient use of space. Biggest features are Live video and audio news streams, offline article viewing, search and the ability to submit your own news videos and photos (which is great for covering citizen revolutions and wars). Plus Al Jazeera's excellent journalism ties it all together.

Great content, poor scrolling functionality. While I love the content, there seems to be an issue with my ability to scroll up and down as I read through content. I don’t have this issue with other apps, so I have to assume it’s contained to just this app. To scroll up and down, I need to use 2 fingers on the page. One finger is not smooth enough.

RIP Aljazeera. I’ve been watching Aljazeera for over a decade now and it was the only daily news broadcast that I was interested in watching regularly. Until today. I commend Qatar for withstanding the attack (blockade) by Saudi Arabia for as long as it did to maintain and preserve Aljazeera’s independence and true news coverage. But alas it seems that pressure has come to bear fruit and it is undeniable the negotiations out of that crisis required Qatar to sacrifice the very thing that made me a regular watcher of Aljazeera. Every show now holds the same US state department line that the US media corporations put out on the daily and I have no interest in subjecting myself to that any more than I have to. Goodbye Aljazeera, you were great while you were great.

True Journalism. Unbiased and straightforward journalism. The reporting of events unfolding in Turkey have been spot on! No political sugar coating- just straight forward reporting. Al Jazeera has been taken off American news waves because of this. This is the only app I can trust to get the whole picture. And if big brother has me on the radar because if this....Up theirs!

Sleek, simple, and straight to the point. This app is simple but humble in its format, and the content of the new is covers is very well written. The text is easy to see, and the colors help rear the reader in on the important stuff, the content. It's easy on the eyes, and offers multiple stories that will catch your eyes. If you'd like content on the Middle East, this is your app.

Indispensable World News. Where else can you get comprehensive coverage of world news on all continents? News not filtered though the bias of American partisan politics. You will find the reporting surprisingly objective and even compassionate. Thorough coverage, not sound bytes. Video stories. Hey, you can't beat it.

Straight and to the point!. I like that news is covered and reported with higher level substance. Where many other agencies gloss over news, AJ gets in and provides greater details. I also like the Global coverage. We work, invest and live globally, and it's important to know what happened, where it happened, and why it's happening. Now if we could just get Al Jazeera America back on Live TV, or Satellite Radio, that would be awesome.

Why commercials now. Why would you mess would a great app by adding commercials when u have to watch live news?! That’s so stupid it’s Turing me and lots of people off. People have A.D.D. We lose interest waiting for the commercials to be over with. Remove the 30 second commercials from live news tv or I’m deleting this app. You’re becoming like cnn. Be like yourself or France 24. News I trust!!!. Refreshing in the age of left and right and corporate corruption. AJE is one of the few places I can find facts without a political or corporate/corrupt agenda. They’re not perfect... don’t need them to be. Great programs interesting prospective and stories I have never heard before. Champions for humanity

Good alternative, glitchy app. I like getting a different perspective on the world, and Al Jazeera does that will little political bias. I do want to say though that the app is a little glitchy with the actual articles. The main page scrolls ok, but the articles kind of jerk and jump around as you scroll down.

Great!. Sounds like most people liked the prev version better (I can't compare) but like this app just fine! I like that the articles are short and concise (or maybe just feel shorter and easier to read on my phone). It's easy for me to catch up on some quality new reporting by an amazing group!

Is this even compatible with 3GS?. Tried to open this, and it's not downloading any of the content. I get just the section labels on the frontpage and nothing on any other pages. It also seems to not be recognizing my internet connectivity (no other apps are having a problem). This app needs serious work, imo. What was wrong with the old AJE app? UPDATE: For some reason, this app doesn't work on one particular wireless network, which is the one I was on when I wrote the original review. It works just fine on 3G or any other wireless I've tried.

A different perspective. The app technically works fine on iPhone 5, also worked fine on 4S. Absolutely no problems. As for the content - it's a different perspective the. US or Europe based media. An interesting read for sure even of the perspective doesn't agree with you. The one star off is for the Egypt situation in July 2013 - they are more pro-Morsi (and Islamic Brotherhood) biased then Fox News is towards the different option!

Excellent. Excellent. It's similar to their Blackberry app. Now instead of a Livestation app, there's an official Al Jazeera English app where you can get both live streaming audio and/or video, but also video clips and news stories in a great design.

Will not allow casting to other devices. I don’t know why they don’t allow the ability to cast using blue tooth to optional device screens. We have multiple tv’s not hooked to the internet or without fire sticks like in the kitchen we would like to cast too. But no joy here. Am I missing something? Otherwise their coverage on topics seems very bias free and timely. Also they report on subject matter important to the world scene that traditional networks ignore.

Fix your app. Love the news feed, but hate the app. Articles are “sticky” and scrolling through an article is no easy task. Videos keep randomly popping up during article reads. When I actually want to watch a video, half the time there is no sound, and the other half the video doesn’t look. Love the news feed, absolutely hate the UI. Please fix.

Great news. Few suggestions.. Love the news, love the coverage and the over all functionality of the app. But I do have a few things I would like to see happen. Allowing your live content to be accessed in the US, allowing me to copy the link of the article I'm reading directly onto my clipboard, and an option to increase the total number of articles on the front page.

Great journalism. I rarely write reviews for applications, but this one deserves one. I have been using the app for a month and I comfortably say this is th best news source out there. In a time where media cares more about getting clicks than delivering information, Al Jazeera seems to be the only ones sticking to their guns and inform their users about the world. Thank you.

Another source.. I personally like to gather my information from various sources around the world. I take nothing as gospel especially big corporate media. Anytime I am thinking about the Middle East and its problems I like to bring in input from here. Various writers submit here and Algazera does state they do not necessarily represent their stance. They just present the article, you make up your own mind.

Finally - someone that just wants to report the news. Increasingly frustrated w constant editorializing from both the left and right leaning news I finally found a source that presents all sides and gives actual information instead of propaganda - thanks AJ keep up the good work

Biased and not objectives. They are always biased towards one view and us the viewers who decide based on all available TRUE and COMPLETE information and not Aljazeera. They are suppose to bring the true, unbiased and complete picture instead of just taking a specific point of view and try to support it by all means. News is worthless of it's biased and based on un-known sources, their pictures and video footage also doesn't reflect the story behind it which proves that many things are just made up.

Better than all US news outlets. And your documentaries are brilliant, international news coverage is excellent. And there are still many more stories to be told, keep up the good work

Frustrating and slow, limited content. Would like to like this but I cannot search for a story, cannot view stories by category, cannot see all stories in a given category, and the feed I get is different from what I get on the web. So this app effectively censors stuff. Videos load audio way before picture, often you don't get a picture, NOT good for research, very disappointed.

Brilliant. Ready for it to come to the US!. Amazing news source. Thorough and still to the point. My number one app definitely and the one I most frequently go to. Break away from US news and give this a try. You won't be disappointed. So glad they're making a US station.

Smooth App, Great Journalism. The coverage of international events provided by Al Jazeera is just what journalism should be: unadulterated facts. The app performs very well, and articles can be shared with other apps quite easily. The only area for improvement I have noticed is the inability of the user to select an individual word to find its definition. This is great news in a great format!

Finally!. I am someone who abhors reading or watching news because I can’t trust what’s reported. Now I am checking Al Jazeera every day because it seems factual and unbiased. Thank you. Finally I can get something of an accurate picture of world news.

Solid Program. Good and honest news program! Content is excellent. Technically, it could be better. I would like to see dark mode incorporated, more and better user settings, and to see screen rotation work correctly (especially a problem on iPad and iPadOS). That being said, I use the app almost every day.

Ok but something interesting... Try to look at the terms and conditions or the privacy policy through the application. It won’t work when every other aspect of the application works perfectly. What exactly are they trying to hide? I believe this is the best company to get unbiased news for the world, but why doesn’t that part of the application work? Also, I am unable to contact support help via the app..

Great service ... one improvement. I agree with all the positive reviews of the network and the importance of its existence and availability. It's also great to have the "listen" option again. As a visually impaired user, it makes more sense to use it this way. Can we fix it so it doesn't kick me off the stream after so long? Thanks.

Limited but very good. Probably the the best quality reporting available with fast loading. However, the options for choice of topics is very limited unlike Flipboard. Obiviously based on in house reporters, it would at times be immeasurably improved with attributed précis from say The Economist, and other reputable sources.

Well balanced reporting. And the app is great too. I love how their reporting focuses on the common person. Edit August 23, 2013: news reporting is as great as always, but they've disabled live streaming in the US because AJ is now on cable and satellite. Very bad decision in my opinion. Cable and satellite are great for many, but for us "cord cutters," please restore the video streaming!

Best free news app. Hands down the best news app. Design is excellent, navigation is seamless, and content is top notch. With Al Jazeera you just get the news. You don't have to worry about being inundated with moronic sports news or Fluffington Post style shallow hype. Just in depth, solid news from a global perspective.

Glitchy. While an excellent source of journalism, this app is horribly glitchy; good luck scrolling as the screen instead bounces around. You have to “flip” the screen and cannot smooth-scroll, which causes parts of articles to dart out of view. It seems to prioritize advertisement-centering instead of readability. Really wish it worked properly as I would love to be able to read the articles in their entirety.

News-Press outside of USA gives new perspective. As a US born citizen, I have seen my news sources become increasingly left / liberal or right / conservative. It is refreshing to have a new source of significant news media. I also appreciate the global aspect of news that ties present US activity to the larger picture.

Not loading at all. The latest version (to this date) is not loading..the loading screen appears on launch but thats it...it animates until the screen is turned off..it is sometimes possible to view a news by tapping on the notification but the main app is not loading..this had happened before in some older versions but update fixed it then... why this happens time to time???? AJ is my top pick for news..please fix this and ensure this won’t happen in the future..btw i want to give you 5 stars..

World news. I work a lot, so I barely even have time to watch or listen to the news in the U.S. (i wouldn't even want to with Trump in office.) When I do get the chance, however, I love that this app can give me news from Africa, to Europe, to Asia, to Mexico/Canada, and back! I appreciate the notifications of new News on my lock screen of the reality of the rest of the world.!

Best yet. On wifi this app has been amazing. Love that the special programs are now available to watch at my leisure. I have used apps from other news sources with consistant dissapointment, and this app everything I want to enjoy from Al Jazzera.

Fast, on the ground true digital media access. Al Jazeera’s fast and live presentation of news is noteworthy, admirable. I think it provides voice to the voiceless, often marginalized people and victims of aggression. This the Hallmark of al-jazeera. To my mind the true journalism.

My rating. AJ is good source of news from a different perspective. No more biased than other news outlets. That be said, AJ should not be your only source of news. This is true of all news sources, never trust a single source Sometimes they have news not covered in USA because news was not about USA

Reliable and Unbiased. As an American, this is the only news source that I currently trust in our political climate. Americans are not often given news reports about the goings on across the world, and the reports we receive for domestic matters and slanted by corporate and billionaire interest. Thank you Al Jazeera for promoting truth and accuracy in journalism in a time where it is not fashionable to do so.

Jaundiced eye. While some reporting has been exceptional and offering broader coverage than other media sources, a lot of the perspectives are pro islam / muslim for the most part. It is unfortunate that muslims are not able to portray truths about their own ‘brothers’ except when they are in direct conflict then too the treatment is light. Ironically a vast majority of the islamic world have turned a blind eye to the massive chinese oppression of the uighurs! You would have though by now they would have all banded together and invoked a jihad to save their brothers?

Difficult to scroll. Recently I think they made an update to change content type from text to image and it makes it very difficult to scroll news and kind of annoying. Please fix it. Easy 5 stars otherwise- huge fan of news quality and broad coverage across globe!

great network and news source, disappointing app. I don't understand! A great news system like Al Jazeera would be expected to have at least a semi-decent app to go along with it. It seems as if it hasn't been updated properly in a long time, and for the ~3 years I've had it on and off it never changes. Reading is difficult, formatting in the articles themselves is messy and distracting. I would hope it would be improved...

Great to see non western viewpoints BUT !!!!. But would like to be able to comment on some of the things that are said. The problem is most of the reporting is generally bias although,I don't always agree I generally enjoy diverse opinions but would love to be able to make comments. Otherwise outstanding to see other people's opinions.

Great app. This is a great app, so much better than the other news apps. Unbiased content and easy to use layout. The one feature I would like to see added is the ability to text my friends links to the articles.

Great reporting...mediocre display. Al Jazeera is by far one of the most reliable unbiased news sources in the world. The app is also clean and runs smoothly without any glitches. However, the default horizontal view of the app on the iPad is annoying. The consumer should have the option of viewing the stories horizontally or vertically. Please fix this.
