Pretty cool app but.... I live near Seattle and in the winter I love to track the lengthening of the days as spring approaches. This app has all of the cool features to do that. My complaint is that this app can't determine my location. Other apps (Weather Channel, Google Maps) don't have a problem finding my location. Every time I open it I have to fix the location to get the right times. If the location issue was solved I'd give it 5 stars.

Great Tool for Photographers. I use this Ap for knowing when the sun rises and sets wherever I travel in the world. It has the ability to inform you of many aspects of lighting that are important for photography. This is a very useful tool. I use it all the time wherever I am. Even to set the lighting timer in my home outdoor lights. 👍👏😎

Seize the Day(light)!. I really enjoy this app. It is accurate, easy to use, and attractive. I particularly like the way it shows you what percentage of daylight remains: because the number will change while you watch, this app is a terrific reminder to get out there and enjoy the light while it lasts. (It does the same for nighttime, too, which can be a tremendous comfort when it feels like the Midwestern winter darkness will never end -- this app shows the steady approach of the new sunrise.). Thanks for a terrific product!

Very good, but not great - yet.. This is a very good app but it needs a few more features: The automatic location finder is very helpful, however It would be very helpful to search for other locations by name of city rather than by manually locating it on the tiny map. Also saving multiple locations as favorites would really help. This would allow for future planning of photo shoots at various locations much simpler. Then, I would rate this Excellent & five stars, especially for a $2 app.

Very useful.. I absolutely love this application. Knowing how much daylight is left, both in hours and in percentages, keeps me focused on making the best use of my time. As an astronomy student and as someone obsessed with time and date, I love that this tells me how much time I have until significant days like the solstices and equinoxes. Usage is very simple. Just open the app and the information is there. I find myself checking it a lot. Which brings me to my one complaint about the app: this app needs to be connected to the internet to work. I understand that to give the most accurate time, it needs to know my precise location. That's a problem for me because I'm running this on my iPod Touch, and I'm not always in a location with wifi access. I would love it if you could make this app work offline, using data from the last location it was able to track (and maybe just have it display somewhere that times may be sightly inaccurate until it is connected. An approximate time should be fine, especially for those of us who don't travel a lot during the day). Another feature I'd like to see is how much time until the sun reaches the meridian, the highest point it will reach during the day (For those who don't know, it's not always exactly at noon). An option to change the background would be cool too. Keep up the good work!

Great for planning. This old lady combines light information with the weather forecast to choose the best time to walk my dog. The dog is my exercise enforcer until I feel safe at the gym.

I love this App!. I feed deer 10 minutes before sunset and 10 after sunrise. The deer always know when that will be. So i use this app to be on time.

Great app!. I use this regularly. I do have one request: When I'm in another time zone, it's a bit confusing to know the event times. So, can you list the event times in local zone times? E.g. If I'm in Chicago and I'm checking the sunset time in LA where I'll be traveling tomorrow, it shows 10:05 pm. In LA, it's really 8:05 pm. Thanks

Silly fun hobby. I look everyday to see how much sunlight there is and make sure I get at least a few minutes of time outside during the day. Wish it had moon info too.

Not what I wanted. This app should give sunrise/sunset times in the local time of the location in question, not my current time zone, very frustrating.

Very useful. I use this app every day to help me determine my take-off time. I have to be at locations when there is enough light to see but these locations are not usually determined until about 2 to 3 hours before sunrise. This app allows me to select a location, then tells me when first light is there. Using this information, I can determine when to take-off.

Wonderful App!. This app is easy to use, provides necessary information at a glance, and is invaluable in planning my activities outside. It is especially helpful for deciding whether I need to dress with reflective clothing and lights when walking the dog. I also love that the times of first light, sunrise, sunset and last light are accurate for every location in which I might possibly find myself.

Straight forward and easy. Sunrise and sunset times for your current location on whatever date you choose: If that's what you want, and you want it in an easy and straight forward manner, then this app is for you. (If you're looking for something more complex or robust, then you'll have to look elsewhere. This app is not intended for astronomers.) A good app.

Stopped working. All I get for the sunrise and sunset page are 4 lines of “No Event”. I used to enjoy this app and checked it each day.

Everything I Need. This app gives me great information that's quite handy for me as a jogger and photographer. I've recently discovered that any app that uses GPS for positioning does not work unless you have General/Network/Enable 3G/Cellular Data/Data Roaming, all in the ON position. Reason? Because Apple needs to monitor and or control application(s) by using Location Services to do so. Apple's bug up the ying/yang. Bottom Line: IF YOU DON'T HAVE CELL SERVICES YOU CAN'T GET GPS POSITIONING TO WORK TO ESTABLISH YOUR CURRENT POSTION.

Bought but wish I hadn't.. Bought the app because it LOOKED like it would be worthwhile. WRONG. Firstlight, Sunrise, Sunset, Last Light, all the data that I was looking for fails to be provided - just empty fields. Hopeless as this is the fundamental objective of the App (or is that taking money for nothing). Would like a refund. Suggest you don't bother buying this app until it can deliver what it promises.

Handy little thing. I like to know sunpaths and this App keeps me easily in touch with the solstices and equinoxes for planning building placements, solar equipment and gardens. I've had no problems with it.

Great simple app. Great simple app that has two simple screens of sun rises and equinoxes/ solstices. A small grip - the app cannot auto rotate to landscape. I hope this very simple feature will be enabled soon.

One of the best apps of its kind. The information is presented in an easy to read fashion, and is one of the most accurate apps of its kind, if you ever needed to know the exact details of the solar cycle then this app is what you need.

Just the app I needed!. I am uncomfortable driving when it is dark out (poor depth perception), so this app is perfect for me. I use it all the time - especially in winter when it gets dark early.

Nice. I really like the total day as opposed to hours between sunrise and sunset - really useful for running and biking. Possible improvement: Data for multiple locations - so I can laugh at those folks in Sweden ( just kidding).

Suits me to a tee. Is exactly what I needed. I am very pleased. Love the easy and quick to read interface. Especially like the rotating feature of the pertinent data list - the next event, chronologically speaking, automatically moves to the top of the list each time an event passes, so the time of the next event is always just a very quick glance away.

Easy in-touch-with-the-natural-world app. It's the first thing I look at in the morning to orient myself -- very quickly, since I usually get up in the dark. Pleasant, simple, and sets the perspective.

Unique & helpful App. Very helpful to know exactly how much light you have left in the day for walks, driving, etc. Works in any location, gives you sunrise/ sunset but more importantly the time of last light. Gave it 4 stars because they could bling it out a bit so you could save locations, compare one location to another on the same screen, etc.

Great app for us sunlight nuts. Allows both a GPS position as well as a specifically chosen location. Gives countdown to equinoxes, solstices. My ONLY gripe is that it shows total overall light, but doesn't give you actual solar day and night (ie, an official tally of official sunlight). Seems like that could be added for us hardcore folk wanting precision. Otherwise, best sunlight app out there

Perfect App! Just what I wanted!. This app is great! Just the right amount of info - clean and easy to view - no clutter - and extremely accurate. Works Fine. Must be getting older thing, I'm super interested now days more in time, when is the sun coming up, when is it going down, what time is it. Super Time geek, how many hours are in the nighttime, how much of the night is complete. App works fine no problems.

Great App. I love this App. It is accurate and I have have had no problems with it crashing. I particularly love it in the late winter/early spring when I am desperate for the sun to rise as I catch the train at 6 am. I can use the App to predict when that first sunrise will occur.

Location Forgetting. Please update the app to retain location. I do not want to constantly have the app track my location. Why can't I use a zipcode? Why can't it retain my location when I use it. Every other app I use can remember my location data or zip.

love it. I love the ability to quickly and easily see when the sun will set so I know if I have time for a walk/run before dark. I also like being able to watch the daytime hours get longer after Dec 21st. Great app. Easy to use and accurate.

Simple & Awesome. Never stalls, never fails. I use it to know what is the earliest I can walk my dog in the morning without it being pitch black outside the entire time. Maybe it's silly but to me it's worth every penny. Great no frills app.

Don't waste your money. As another reviewer pointed out, location search is only map based, no city search. This just presents a very simplistic screen of basic information. No time series graph or other visual improvement of the data that I would expect in a paid app. Very disappointed.

Very helpful. Does what it's supposed to - lets me know when the sun is going to rise and set. I love the Last Light feature so I know when it will be fully dark; also, the future projections are great!

Does the job nicely.. Nothing complicated here. Just useful. Wondering how early you can start hiking in the Sierras in August? Whether it’s dark yet in Hong Kong? What time you and your friend can watch the sunset? This is the app that will tell you what you need to know for any date in any part of the world.

Dependable. It has always worked for me. Well laid out. The photo in the background is almost as good as one of mine would be. That was a hint of a suggestion to the developers. But I do really like this app. The only problem is I keep breaking into song each time I open it ;-D

Mathematician and computer science.. Excellent. Using map for locations Is simple. Accuracy plus or minus On map scales has little effect on sunset time and other app data. The money of a few dollars is never the issue. Not one app for free has ever pleased me. Programming And all that goes into an app is tedious work. I do appreciate the efforts of app creators and their Artistic presentations. Woo Hoo!. Useful, very useful. I hike, bike, ski, traipse, and so forth. I participate in our planet's weather. How long is the night, I ask? When is first light? Last light? Happy St Patrick's Day! When light and dark are just about evened up. Yay! I give a big 5 stars to this app! Of course, you can only see the stars when it's dark.

Decent tool. Functionality is decent. It could stand to have a better way to scroll forward/search to see future sunrise/sunset dates and times; a little annoying to manually hit a once fwd right arrow or once left back arrow. Otherwise, serves its purpose.

Easy to use. This does everything I want except that all information for other locations is calculated in terms of your own time zone. Still, I use it daily at home and it gives me exactly the info I need.

Sunrise and sunset app. This app is great especially for photography and fishing! Really beats waiting for the news to give you sunrise and sunsets. I especially like the twilight times as well. I use this app all the time.

Perfect. Does exactly what I wanted: give amount of light or darkness left in a day or night in hours and percents. I browsed through many "sunrise sunset" apps and installed a few, and none of them display this info the way i want or at all Not overly complex, but not too simple. Definitely worth $0.99.

Badly flawed. I just purchased this app and concluded it wasn't worth the money. First, you must identify locations by finding them on a map. You can't enter a location by name. Second, and more important, the sunrise and sunset times are given based on your current location, not based on the times in the location searched. I when searching Phoenix from Eastern Time, it showed sunset of 8:12 pm, when the correct sunset was 6:12 pm. If you want to know the sunrise and sunset times in the location being searched, this app doesn't help you unless you're in the time zone being searched.

No unpopulated areas. This app works well for populated areas, so for practical purposes it's very useful and easy to use. However it doesn't work for sparsely populated areas like Greenland or Antarctica, so if you're curious what sunrise times are in random parts of the world you might be disappointed. Also I wish you could search for locations by name rather than having to use the map.

Simple App that does what it says.. This is a simple, uncomplicated app that reliably does what it says. As a cyclist who is trying to squeeze in training rides in the winter, it really helps to know just how much daylight I'll have in a day.

Just what I was looking for. This app is great for planning outdoor activities only second to a good weather app. Since I ride bikes a lot it's great knowing how much light I will have left. And the ability to look ahead is nice.

Perfect app!!!. Very simple to use and does exactly what it says. I do an hour commute every Friday night and Sunday night so now I know when I can arrive before dark! Besides that, I use this app every day to plan what I'm doing and when. Worth the $1.99 which is why it's much better than those free versions.

Does Almost Everything I Want.. It does what it is designed for better than other apps in this category. What would be a cool add in would be an alarm that would signal your choice of either sunset or sunrise.

Nice program, I guess the one suggestion I would have is maybe put something in that would allow one to enter other locations perhaps addresses and also the ability to have different dates throughout the years so one could look up see what date the sunrise and sunset on? Or anytime the future?

Slightly off. Sunrise/sunset times are a couple minutes off each day. If I'm paying for an app then the data should be on point, not in the ballpark. Please correct.

Fine for where I am at the time. Haven't used them often or recently, but believe it has options for other dates in that location or other locations on that date, but don't know that one can check other locations on other dates.

Perfect. Indispensable. As a photographer I use this all the time to know exactly when the sun sets or rises. During a shoot I may refer to it several times just to keep track of the minutes available for shooting or prep. I have several apps that do the same but use this one because its dead simple.

Does just what I wanted.. It tells me when fist light, last light, sunup, and sundown is any where any day from now to whenever I need it in the future. As a hunter it's critical information that has to be right... and it always is!!
