Awesome app. BiggMike here, as a professional content creator, digital designer for years, this is the tool I must have. I’ve been battling ALS since 2012. I can no longer walk, talk, use my hands or even breathe on my own. This tool is my one and only tool to communicate with the world. You can even download your voice banking software. great app but cannot hide edit button. I sure do wish they would update with a function to hide the settings/edit button. I work with so many kids who would like to use this app, but in order to hide the settings/edit button someone has to go into guided access, circle the settings button to lock it out, then start guided access. This has to be done each time the app is reopened - this Does NOT facilitate independent communication! A user should be able to use the app outside of guided access with the settings button being able to be disabled elsewhere.

What a huge and costly disappointment. Twitter integration is useless as it cannot be used in scan mode. Must have someone switch to Settings, change to direct mode, switch back to app, find msg in history then tweet. After entering credentials I get: "Whoa there! The request token for this page is invalid. It may have already been used, or expired because it is too old. Please go back to the site or application that sent you here and try again; it was probably just a mistake." Emailing a msg just causes a crash. No ability to copy msg to clipboard...

iPhone app is awful. I liked the design of the app, so I bought it primarily for iPhone. The app is atrocious. Hasn’t been updated in years for two rounds of larger screen size. Stay away

Highly recommended AAC app. This app is an essential component of your AAC assessment process. Forward thinking developers created this app with built-in switch access to assist people with physical challenges. Perfect for an adult or student format for full communication. Word predict is so intuitive it can even be utilized by patients/students that posses some form of functional literacy skills (i.e. dyslexia, cognitive delays). Lots of extra features including high quality voice output and privacy. Great app! SLP Center, MA

Upsetting. One of the better text to speech apps, but still not fully satisfying as far as switch access. Discovered a shocking example of antisemitism in my version. Type "I hate" and look at the word prediction bar. Awful. Hope that developer has been fired.

Poor app. App is a waste of money! Very poor speech, garbled to the point of unrecognizable. Poor customer service. I found it unnecessarily frustrating and should go back for fundamental work.

Great AAC solution, responsive team. I found this app to be a great solution for individuals who communicate primarily through typing. The interface is intuitive and offers some nice customizable options. It allows for preprogrammed messages for efficiency when necessary. The developers have been supportive and very responsive to questions.

Fantastic app!. Great for my clients with ALS. The word prediction really seems to make a difference, I really like the new features too.

nice prediction but no print option. I bought this app, for $160 mind you, to assist a student with cerebral palsy who has difficulty writing. The prediction feature is pretty nice. Doesn't predict all possible words through invented spelling of the user but does very well. I hoped that it would have a printing feature so that all text entered onto the screen could be printed and then turned in to a teacher. The Abilipad app is much less expensive, has print options, but does not do a very good job with prediciton. Please add a print option!!

It froze. I bought this app yesterday. It is not working today. I need help with it or $160 down the tubes. For an ALS patient that is big.

Exceptional, Accessible Text-2-Speech App. Love the features of this app. Direct selection, scanning with switch and scanning by touchscreen. Appreciate the availability of custom stored phrases to increase rate of communication. Nice attention to details of alternate messaging such as texting and social media. One of the best!

Worth the cost. The number of apps for Augmentative and Alternative Communication has exploded, but the quality of most of the free and low-cost apps is a big problem. I work at a regional Assistive Technology Center where people come for assistance in considering AT to help with their particular physical or speech/language challenge. For a literate young or older adult, Predictable is by far the best text-to-speech app available. You get what you pay for, and in Predictable, it has solid performance, an easy to learn interface, and useful settings to costomize and make it fit particular needs. When I've had questions, their tech support has been responsive and thorough. I'm not paid by the company, but actually, if I could, I'd love to work for them. Their product rocks, and it's made a postive impact in the lives of people I work with.

DOESN’T ALLOW USERS IN - PLEASE FIX PASSWORD ISSUE. Predictable is a fantastic app, and has become a really essential tool. Somehow, the current version doesn’t allow users in. No luck asking for a link to reset your password either. The app, as well as the website will tell you it has successfully sent an email, but nothing arrives. Why why why? Such an easy fix. Your paid users have to use the app in “Guest Mode.” Honestly, it’s almost cruel to have an app that’s so good that users have come to depend on it, and then somehow let a glitch lock them out. There are other reviews here that also seem to be struggling with password issues. Please fix this.

Was amazing until now. So I love this app, it’s amazing and so helpful to me! I like the last version better though. It was simpler.

Crashes Repeatedly. I had high hopes for this for my 11 year old daughter. Unfortunately after she would manage a few letters the app would crash. I contacted the developer, tried all of their suggestions including putting gloves on her with one finger cut out and still it would crash. It was so disappointing to her to work so hard to communicate only to see her efforts disappear. Not worth the huge price tag.

Fantastic social communication tools!. So excited to download and check out the changes and I must say impressive. One of your cutting edge features was the ability to post to facebook but now you have added more! We immediately had to check them out! Emailing, texting, tweeting! You really understand how important it is to be able to connect socially. Addittionally hats off on the larger keys. That was one area that was difficult and you definately made improvements. Thanks for the great additions to a fantastic app!

Best AAC app. The app makes communication quick and easy. The new version is a great update with the new features. I would always recommend. It is life changing for MND. The best app of its type available.

Revised Rating. The email I used first was from an old web page. When I found the new email it was responded to promptly. The glitch was an update. The company quickly rectified the problem with a patch(update). It is now my major method of communication.

Great app. I am a speech pathologist working with adults and this app has given a voice to many people I have had the privilege of working with. The app is seamlessly streamlined with voice preservation services allowing you to very easily download your synthetic voice. It is very easy to customise and create your own customised phrases and layout and very easy to message bank on. It is a great text to speech app! The app is on the rare occasion buggy but the TherapyBox team are very quick to respond and help troubleshoot errors. I highly recommend this app

Suggestions for upgrades. Hey, loving the app for my son but a few suggestions for improvements: - add child’s voices (eg: Liam Australian boy) - edit size of message window in grid view and adjust font size of message window - be able to edit the colour of font or background of an individual cell rather than all of the phrases altogether - be able to Edit each individual cell to determine if it speaks when touched or automatically.

Spyro. I used this many a time due to having surgery and my voice was damaged from a nasal gastric tube. It was a life saviour as finally I had a voice. I say even helped when I was at the shops I just had to type they had to read or listen. Thank you for giving us a voice whoever created this. My hero

Predictable ... and promoting individuality in AAC.. In Predictable, Therapy Box Limited offers another useful mobile tech AAC option for people who have difficulty speaking to get their message across. It is good to see that the person using the system has some choice over how the mobile tech device will look and sound during interactions. Therapy Box Limited have designed alternative access options to increase the use of Predictable for people who cannot touch the screen. This will challenge other mobile tech AAC developers to remove access barriers to use of the speech system for people with physical and/or visual disabilities. Predictable is aptly named for offering word prediction features, and the history section will help when preparing for communication in settings where time is short and where the same message needs be repeated several times to many different people (e.g., when preparing for communication in hospital). However, there is no user control for protecting privacy by turning the ‘save history’ feature either on or off, even though items can be selected and deleted from the history. I look forward to hearing more about how Predictable has been used in social, work, home, and healthcare settings to improve interactions and increase communicative access for people with communication disability. Fantastic tool. Fantastic for someone who can't talk like myself. I would be so lost without this on my iPad. Well worth buying as long as you are able to use even one finger to push screen with. I'm a ABI.

Predictable. Whilst this app supports scanning, my major concerns are the keyboard design for those users that have poor fine motor skills. These are some of the suggestions that would assist these individuals. The “speak, clear text, add phrase” buttons on the right of the message window should be enlarged and separated, so that these actions can be easily accessible for those with poor targeting skills. The key pad should be enlarged, so that the keyboard fits more of the iPad screen, and hence allow for further separation of the keys, and more accurate input. The message window is made smaller, so that the keypad can occupy more of the screen A further option of customizing the keypad is made available, so that users can adjust the size of the keypad

Predictable. My husband has a brain injury that has robbed him of the ability to speak this app has been so helpful and allows him to communicate and regain his confidence in social situations

Lost my Australian lee voice too. Where’s my Australian voice go. Stupid update. Not happy

Best app. I'm a user of this app and I have got Cerebral palsy. I love this app but the only thing is the emotions don't express someone's moods. Emotions should be expressed within the text and when a full stop is there the voice goes back to normal until the person chooses another emotion.
