SongBook Chordpro Comments & Reviews 2026

What?. I have used apps to manage setlists many times and I’ve never found one so difficult to figure out. As a matter of fact I still haven’t got a setlist setup. At one point I thought I did but couldn’t get it to scroll. Then when I went back to it the songs were listed but gone. And when I went back to the main list they were gone or contained the lyrics from the song above it in the list. I want my $11 back!

God Bless the developer of this app!. Finally found the ultimate Songbook that works for me. It’s just technical enough to do the important useful functions, but not complicated and buggie to confuse us old school guys - I use this a lot! Really like it Thanks

Great to have access to my songs on all my platforms. I have used most of the chord chart apps available in the App Store. I have been using Songbook Chordpro for several years and I always seem to gravitate back to it as my first choice. Because it uses the Songbook folder in Dropbox and is set to automatically update when I write something new or add a piece, my songs are the same whether I use it on iPhone, iPad, or my MacBook Pro. What other program can do that and do it so well. I’ll eventually get an Apple Watch and my songs will be available there. I appreciate a developer who takes the time and effort to make their app available everywhere. I no longer use Windows, but I could, and my songs would be available there. I got used to using the simple syntax of Chordpro to write out my songs and I don’t have to worry about my chords showing up over the wrong words like if I wrote them in Word. Those who whine and complain about this being too hard are not really thinking about how Chordpro creates more accurate leadsheets to share with others. And Songbook Chordpro creates great printed leadsheets for those needing a paper copy of my song. All in all, great job guys. I’m very happy to be a customer and look forward to continuing to use the software for my music for years to come.

This app is a big part of my life. I write lots of songs, and this is where they all live, including the recordings of each one. My band members all have the app, and we use Dropbox to share the songs. It’s easy to change keys, and I love not dealing with paper and binders. All the files are plain text in standard Chordpro format, so it’s totally future proof. I use this app every day and love it!

Teleprompter saves paper good bye notebooks of music. How many banjo pickers does it take to transpose a song with more than three chords? Just one if they have this app! Goes from I IV V to G C D from simple text file format. Internet importer keeps getting smarter. Well done. Money well spent 🎶 Now if we can fix all the lyrics typos online. The latest upgrades make this app even better. scale to fit wireless printing, PDF viewer. Great job!

Excellent App. We currently have 12 of 18 musicians in our jamming group using Songbook on iPads. It is so useful and the updates are always more useful ways for this APP. I have 2981 songs set up from fiddle tune chord charts to lyrics with chords. In a group setting we can quickly change keys as well as airdrop tunes to fellow musicians so they can play along within in seconds. Highly recommended to many friends.

Does everything I wanted. I really hate autoscroll and auto chord detect features in other apps. They may work for some but they are too janky for me — I lose my place in the song when it’s moving around and the auto chord detect thingies don’t scroll sometimes when they should. This thing lets you copy and paste chords from the web and it auto-formats them into columns so you can just fit the whole song on one screen, no scrolling necessary. Only app I’ve found so far that is actually better than lugging around a fat binder with meticulously printed songs or just having a folder in Files. Wonderful for both practice and performance. Thank you for making a great app!

The best iPad songbook for gigging. I gig often and have for 20+ years this app is the only song book I will ever use. I have thousands of songs downloaded and saved to a cloud storage and on my devise. No subscription free song downloads. Amazing features for different instruments and to scroll together with band. So much more. The only one you will ever need.

Great program. Don’t hesitate. This program is perfect. Change keys, scroll, download any song you want. I’ve used this program for years. LOVE it.

Great app. I’ve used this app for years. I love the ease of transposing and the fact that it can convert back and forth between chords and Nashville Numbering system. I think it’s quite intuitive for a new user, but leaves room for more advanced formatting with ChordPro coding. We use different color highlights to indicate various singing parts, etc. The category, tag, and playlist features are extremely useful for organizing songs and performances.

Chord Pro. This is a terrific app. I have hundreds of songs in memory. It is convenient for searching for new songs. It is easy to edit. I especially like the dictation capability.

Great tool for musicians!. I live this app for storing and accessing song charts. I had an issue where I would change fonts and the change would not be applied. I finally noticed the option of “Fixed Font…” It would be great to get a prompt indicating that setting would prevent font changes. Other than that this app has been great! Thanks!

Great for sync’ing. Here’s what this app does better than your $30 music score app - it syncs flawlessly. If you’ve got a collaborating group sharing a Dropbox folder, it’s great. Deleted songs get deleted - imagine that! Here’s what it also does better than the $30 competitors - it re-scales and reformats text if you zoom real time. So your about to play a song and need it bigger, pinch and zoom and the lines re-wrap. It also keeps it simple with the ChordPro markups. The PDF handing is awful - the only reason why this app needs a companion app or PDF reader.

Awesome song app. I am a performing musician. I play as a solo artist and sometimes with a group. I started using an iPad for my songs back in 2010. When songbook came out, I quickly switch and have never had regrets. I have over 2,000 songs on my app. I can create and put the songs into categories, genres, songs to practice, songs to learn… I required an app to have categories for songs, able to search by song title or by artist easily. When playing with a group, I can sync all iPads and every musician has the same song up at the same time with very little effort. For me, as a musician, Songbook has made my performances easy and organized. I love Songbook!

Responsive to Users. I have used SongBook Chordpro for many years now, and have enjoyed the progression of features. The simplicity of operations from converting text to chordpro, two-click key changes, auto font sizing and on and on, are all due to well-thought-out design and attention to detail. Andreas has been very responsive, also, to feature requests and troubles encountered over time. There are few applications that "just work" as well as this one. I rely on it extnsively and it does not diasppoint.

Excellent App and Service. I have used another app for years that slowly but surely got way too big and complex beyond its original purpose. This app does exactly what it says and limits its functionality to what is needed to maintain neat and organized charts. I wrote the author once asking a question and received an almost immediate reply unlike other apps that take forever to acknowledge your existence This is a great app and you will not be disappointed. Thank you

Many advantages over OnSong!. I have bought this for virtually every platform that it is available and my song stuff seamlessly integrates across devices with Dropbox. So cool! Has 2 column support in landscape for less or in some cases no scrolling (OnSong still doesn’t despite 2+ years of promising it is coming soon). Price / features way cheaper than OnSong. Buy the PC version too if you use Songbook much because they compliment each other so well it is very worth it!

Useful for Musicians IPad version. I play in multiple bands mostly covers. We share set lists and songs making our own arrangements and I write all my originals and others that I record on. I fix all songs that are wrong on line and add times and BPMs. We share playlists and arrangements. My only suggestion is when you share a pdf, for printing, I wish there was a way to add all the details besides the keys and titles(times, bpm, notes), then it would be 5 stars. Tom Morse

Great easy to use. Super practical!. I had been using this app for a long time now and I can recommend it! I have a extensive amount of songs that I use every Saturday for worship and this app had become my little helper. I can connect my songs from iPhone to iPad and I can transpose chords in a fly with no problem. Dev is updating this in timely manner and they responded quick when I pointed to a bug.

Over 10 years with this app. I’ve been using this app for over 10 years, and I’m here to stay. It’s my favorite chord chart app. I tried a couple of others but the simplicity of this, along with some nice functionality is what keeps me using it. One turnoff from some of the other apps is that they are subscription based. I bought this outright, and all features are available to use. Not locked behind a paywall. I use this with Dropbox, where I store PDF and text file charts. Songbook syncs to Dropbox and loads all the songs. Once loaded, it doesn’t need a connection. The app lets you search for chords on the internet, and import them in, then save it in your song list. I play in a wedding band and have to learn songs constantly. This is a nice feature, because I’m usually importing in songs, then transposing them in the app, then revising them in the app. I incorporate MIDI Program Changes in my chord charts, which Songbook supports. This has been huge for me. I send MIDI messages from MainStage to change charts while performing. The one thing I wish I would be able to do is use the PDF charts with MIDI. It only seems to work for the .txt files. Not a huge deal because most of my charts are in .txt format. Support for this app seems good as well, as I had to reach out with a question once, and someone got back to me with a helpful answer.

My Go-To Songbook app!. I’ve been using SongBook ChordPro for a few years now. I love how easy it is to use on any of the versions. I have the MacOS, iOS, iPadOS, and Windows versions and am using a Dropbox folder to share all my chord sheets between devices. The only thing I might ask for to improve working with the app might be an expanded ChordPro insert menu, or at least a reference sheet of all the ChordPro tags that are supported. I started using the app for my guitar sheets for jam sessions. It really helps to have all my chord sheets on my iPad rather than a binder full of loose sheets that I have to shuffle through and re-organize all the time! I’ve now started using it for my newly-acquired mandolin, and I love that I can set the instrument using ChordPro notation and the app gives me the correct chords! I’ve also played around with the group sharing function, and that really works nicely! Unfortunately most of the groups I jam with aren’t quite the tech-enthusiasts that I am, so I don’t usually get to take advantage of that set of features...but it’s nice to have the option! In short, keep up the good work! I love this app!

LIFE SAVER FOR PERFORMERS. I am very impressed with the ease of use. In two days, I have 30 songs off my list already set and ready to go. Some songs take longer but adjustments are easy to make when the tempo changes and lines are sang faster. The edit works great to speed the song up or slow it down. Remember that you can always edit the spacing of the lyrics, closer or further to adjust with the timing, My biggest concern playing out was remembering the lyrics. That's a big stress level that has vanished. I should have done this years ago. A big kudos to this company! FYI, I have it in an iPad mini.

My go to app for songs with lyrics and chords.. I have had this app forever and I don’t know what I’d do without it! It’s easy to input a song from the internet and from scratch (although songs from ultimate guitar are more difficult to download now than it used to be, probably UG is making it that way so you subscribe to their app 😝). I have 600+ songs and it works just fine. I use it on an iPad and iPhone and it syncs with no problem through Dropbox, although I’d like to see iCloud support.

Love it!. I’ve been using this ap for years. So easy to look up song and change keys. Especially for an amateur musician.

Love this app. I have used this for over a year and it just works. I keep playlists for different gigs and my group syncs using Dropbox. The feature set is rich and covers all the bases but one for me. What I cannot find is a way to create a backup file that can be restored on a different device. If that feature exists, please tell me how to find it. If not, please consider adding it.

Apple Watch Support. I love this app. Been using it since version 1. Please update the Apple Watch support. First line of chords of a song, no lyrics, just one playlist. Whole song with chords and auto scroll would be nice. Then I’ll up my rating to 5 stars. Thanks.

Downgraded- App getting worse. downgraded to 2 stars - good for organization, playlists. But they removed the very functions I gave them 5 stars for! I wrote a 5 star review about 2 years ago, which still shows up on their app reviews. I thanked the developers for adding ½ page scroll for pdf files at my request and for the way they fixed pagination of pdf files. I use pdf lead sheets and sheet music exclusively since I find Chordie file format to be useless. These functions disappeared with no warning last year and have not come back. I’m in the process of switching to a better music reader. I guess they got my money...

Coolest Ever!. Love this app. Been using it for years and have my whole repertoire enshrined on this coolest ever app. And when I submit a question, I get a very quick response from the big man himself. Gives me confidence that the app is here to stay.

Top Notch Software. I moved from a competitor Song management system to this one because this runs on all platforms that I use and has the features I need. Works great. I especially love the “Play Together” function. And the option to send MIDI comments when songs are selected is fabulous. Keeps my pedal patches, looper, and drummer in sync with my songs. One irritating thing however is MIDI commands are sent to ALL devices on all ports with no option to turn a particular port off. Most of the time this is not an issue but it affects me because changing songs freezes my AKAI APC40 MK II. It sure would be nice to be able to turn off sending MIDI commands to some ports while keeping others engaged.

Very reliable product. Songbook always works for me, in all settings, gigs, jams, or at home. I heart others cussing at their devices when a song does not present well, or won’t change keys. Songbook always works for me. It has good features and gets occasional updates for requested features. Very solid.

Great app - suggestions for improvement. I have been using this app for years. I’m a professional musician, and use this to organize gigs. I especially love how playlists can be shared between devices. Suggestions: - I would like to have more control over formatting the way songs are printed. On some songs, the words are cut off, or the chord symbols are way too small to see. - I wish there was a way to print the list of songs in a playlist.

There is no method of import in the current iTunes Store on my iPad Pro. I followed the tutorials and hadn’t realized that the information is dated. My Apple Music and ITunes Store Apps do not allow me to access a menu where “apps” is an option so there is no directory that is supposedly shared by Songbook Chordpro with either Apple Music or the ITunes Store. Unless I’m missing something; it probably worked with older versions of ITunes but not the current ITunes Store.

Love the app but loses my songs. I have been using Songbook for several years as an amateur musician who is starting to gig some. Love the way it pulls songs from Chordie and allows key transitions, manual entering comments, etc. I have over 1300 songs on my two iPads and they sync nicely when making changes in either one. HOWEVER, several times I have selected songs that I have been playing for years and it will suddenly say “SONG NOT FOUND”. The title is there, but not the song. One time it suddenly lost over 300 songs at one time, many of these were entered manually or had changes made in them manually to better suit our performance style. The first time this happened, I spent weeks going thru my list and finding the lost songs and loading them in again, or, even worse, manually entering them again. It has happened several more times but not to that extent. I am becoming hesitant to use the app now, for fear it will lose songs during or right before a gig. What could be causing this? Thanks!! Ollie

Pretty good, but needs to support Apple ecosystem. Likes: Supports iPad, iPhone, Mac. I own all three. Great screen formatting Respects your privacy. Collects no data Supports the Apple store on Mac Dislikes: Mac version has very clunky transport controls. Needs to synchronize through iCloud. Needs to directly support Apple Music without having to make a copy of each song as an mp3. Navigation gets slow on 2019 iMac with 300 songs Verdict: I put three hundred songs in this, and tried it for a month. I have gone back to OnSong. (I bought before they went subscription) This would be my go to instead of OnSong if it fully supported the Apple ecosystem, but without that, it’s not for me. Privacy issues for those who care: This app respects your privacy, which is great. Then to synch, they use google and box, who DEFINITELY don’t. Go figure…..

Excellent Tool. I’ve been using songbook for years! Bring a musician doing solo gigs, I need a tool that I can have while performing that is easy and flexible and songbook is just that. You can edit songs, modify chords, add comments, etc. songbook works great for a performing musician…I highly recommend it!

Great for song chord charts. Ive been using SongBook for many years now. It is very easy to use, key and capo changes are simple, app is very fast. I have almost 1000 songs, dozens of categories, and many playlists for the gigs, i can share and print song easily, i can search for songs on the internet. The developer is very responsive w answers or bug fixes. The ChordPro format is easy to understand and pretty stand over other chordpro apps.

Concerned about number of songs?. I play piano and sing with several other artist in the Georgetown area and as a result, have 1675 songs to date in my Songbook and i used to be concerned that it might lick up after a thousand songs but not such problem!!! I use the Category for artist and the Tabs for year of release….. works like a champ… best $ I’v’ve spent musically speaking!!!

It would have been 5 stars but no iCloud. I have the app on my Mac Pro, Mac mini, and MacBook Pro, and it gets the songs perfectly there. I truly love the Mac version. However the iPad App only does DropBox, GoogleDrive and Microsoft cloud sharing, or manual sharing thru Files App, which makes it almost totally useless for me. If you can do without iCloud, I strongly recommend it. However I don't use any of those cloud file systems , so it has become totally useless. In the three and a half years time period I have owned this App, I have used it 3 times. The third time being tonight, and discovering, again, why it is useless to me. I can download the songs piece by piece, but what a pain. In this day and age, it is infuriating to find an App that doesn't automatically sync on iCloud. If you want iCloud sync, stay away, if it is not important for you, then by all means get it.

Best Song App Ever!. I use this app almost every day, I have 506 songs on it and have it on various phones and iPads, I update and sync with Dropbox. It is amazingly easy to use and to maintain, I have Spanish songs, English songs, Jazz, compositions in progress, etc. I can get songs from the internet with chordpro format or can load them directly and configure to my taste and ability. I use guitar and ukelele chord banks. If you want to excel playing songs and have your library neatly organized, this is the app for you, I very highly recommend it, you’ll love it!

The app to have for all musicians. I’ve using this app for years and have never been disappointed. As a church musician having all your music at hand is of upmost importance. Transposing on the fly with chord symbols over lyrics is a really a blessing. Chord charts for different instruments, importing and exporting and synchronization with other devices in your band. Adding chords to lyrics is a breeze. I highly recommend this app!

Doesn’t work with new iPad. First of all, if you have a newer Mac book, you won’t have ITunes so you can’t import music sheets because it says you have to have ITunes. Second, it doesn’t have the search for songs on the internet like it says. Third, there is no way to contact the developer to see if there are ways around it. Total waist of money. Can’t import and can’t search for songs on the internet

Thank you for updates. Thank you for the updates that allow Songbook to work on older iPads. Appreciated.

Fantastic App! Used over 8years w no problems. Update** developers continue to roll out updates, adding many nice features. I now have over 3000 songs in my library and I use the nearly daily. Probably my favorite app ever. Update** Love the new features in 3.9.3 Being able to see categories when in "all songs" view is VERY HELPFUL to me. Also appreciate displaying keys when sharing playlists. Thx! A few reviewers have given this poor reviews which I feel are undeserved. I have used the App for over 3 years both professionally (I'm in 2 bands) and personally (I use it at church and home). I have over 2000 songs in my personal collection. I use this app multiple times every day. I have never had the problems described by these new users writing reviews. Many of my songs were originally imported from the internet - but you soon learn to to edit them as they're often at least partially incorrect. But that's not this apps fault. In one of my bands we are all "power users" of this app. We use features like a shared Dropbox account, links to mp3s, metronome, auto scrolling and we sync all our iPads together on stage so we stay together. Never had a glitch with this app at all. Lots of features are available - it just takes time to learn to use them. I have the app on my iPhone, iPad and I also have the Mac version. I use the iPad for performances - but the other versions allow me the flexibility to add a song anywhere any time. I used to keep all devices song database in sync by emailing songs to myself and opening them in each device - but eventually I got a Dropbox account and that simplified things even more. Again - no problems. I've never had anything deleted or dropped. Actually you have to go through a 2 step process to delete stuff (unless you trash your Dropbox account). Which you should have backed up anyway. App is well supported by the Dev. Questions get answered within 48 hrs. New releases require you to relink to Dropbox if you're using that feature. Nothing catastrophic if you don't do that immediately though. Your song database continues to exist on each device but it won't sync changes until you relink everything. Don't let uninformed reviews keep you from getting the best app of its type. Get this app and LEARN TO USE IT. You will not regret it

Wow. This is a great app for working players. Once you get the hang of it you will find it very easy to use and work with. It has everything you need for chords and lyrics. I use it for gigs for that purpose. I don’t use charts so I can’t grade that part but for lyrics and chords it’s is awesome. Getting songs from the web could not be easier! I had some stored in Word and converted them via “note pad” on the PC. Others I got from Ultimate Guitar. Just get to the tune and import it in the program. Easy! I highly recommend this app for gigging players. You will love the ease of use .... and the support could not be better.

Simply the best. I’ve had this app over 15 years! I’m so happy with my choice as others have come and gone. Built in web browser searches for optimum importability! Easy to edit, and fully customizable! I like my background black, lyrics in white, chords in blue. Saves on battery too

Well Supported App!. I have been using this app for over five years now. The developer is constantly updating and supporting users. He is great to work with! This app sure beats my old three ring binder! Best thing about this app is you can do lyrics and chords for a given song and when needed, use the Tab Generator for solos as well. The Tab Generator is a bit buggy, but it is workable. Wish it would link to Apple’s Files app. In the final analysis, you won’t be disappointed.

Your songs, displayed as YOU. Tabs, chords, lyrics, images, PDF, auto scrolling linked music files, (with variable speed playback in beta Feb ‘25🙂😀😀😃😄😁), synchronized display of up to 7 devices for jammin’ w/your friends, syncs natively w/iCloud, or most popular cloud services, foot pedal support, left handed diagrams, key transposition. Pretty much, if you can think of it, SongBook ChordPro can do it.

Used to love it. I used to love this app, but lately its doing some strange things. Like when I transpose a song and save it, it reverts back to the original key. There used to be a way to get support for the app, but that seems to have disappeared.

Clunky Yet Perfect. Been using this app for more than a decade nearly every day. I have tried several others before and since, yet use SBC 95%.

Learning curve. The learning curve can get frustrating. Instruction for very beginners is hard to find. The Search feature only works half the time - the other half you need to go through all the songs alphabetically and find it yourself. I’ve seen Search Settings somewhere but I’ll be danged if I could find them again - maybe I was dreaming. With the latest iPad upgrade, the Search line is hidden behind the Song Playlist General choice thingy on top. This app is becoming useless in a live setting. I can find no way to change the ridiculously wide tabs - search engine explanations do not match what is on the app. Might be time to try Stagetraxx 3. Too bad - I’d rather not.

Song book. IF you are a guitar player you need this app very good

Best ChordPro app. Slays all competitors. Fantastic app for any band.

Not reliable. App is not reliable, cuts out and losers songs. When it does work it is good. Needs fixing

Best yet. I have tried several other aps for this purpose all have been hopeless so I had low expectations. This is the first one that all our band members like and has finally made the iPad the weapon of choice for practice as well as gigs. Had a bit of trouble trying to import via dropbox but found the search function the best way to import directly from Chordie and other sites. Love the ability to change key and the ease of editing. A truly well thought out ap and much appreciated. Thanks guys.

such a great app. BUT. It really has to many clitches when trying to shair on drop box great potental but no upgrades got to go some where else now as it to fustrating

Very good. A breath of fresh air!. I looked at several similar programs before buying Songbook ChordPro and I’m glad I did. No advertising, no badgering for credit cards, no subscription, just a solid useful app. It’s not 100% perfect but better than the rest. Being able to show both guitar and piano chord diagrams was a big attraction. It takes a short while to realise that you have to add your own songs via text or ChordPro formatted files but that turns out to be a plus. A very large number of chord sites have files that are just wrong. You can find a reasonable version somewhere, copy and paste into Songbook and then edit the errors in the app.

Just what I've been looking for. I've been looking for something like this to ditch my binders full of songs (sorry Mitt, just songs) in this format for a while. Didn't need endless clever features, sure as hell wasn't about to pay a subscription to store my songs, just format, store and organise. This does that really well. Little but exe compared to some, but I'll sometimes pay more for less features, just do the simple job well. The editing can be a little cumbersome on the iPad but that's something I'll get used to. If you just want your songs nicely organised, I recommend it.

Songbook Chordpro. Very good for me as an amateur instrument player.

Song book app. Wicked app. The only way I could see an improvement is if I could sync the scrolling function with lyrics section of the mp3 backing tracks I use for gigs. Lol. The Tap, zoom and auto fit the screen to see lyrics and chords better on the screen is really helpful. Something else I think is helpful is helpful is clicking on the chord mid song and various chord versions are available. There is only one song on there when you download it but I used the google search on the app and the song lyrics and chords downloaded in seconds. All in all great app. Just wish i could sync it with my mp3 backing tracks.

Egrrrrr. So far no joy in importing songs. Seems very cumbersome. Will update this comment if I manage to get some songs in. Still very undecided.

A must for all musicians, a beginners dream.. I have had this app and others like it for a long time. The updates for this one though have set it apart by miles. It is to the point where I can't make any suggestions to make it better. It is great for showing how to play chords, so even a novice can play their favorite song. For the more advanced pro gigger. It is a great reference and a on the fly uploader to find those songs randomly requested. Editing is made easy so you can modify or just write your own song and chords. Top marks for this tool.

Songbook. Best music app if found in ages !!🎸🎶

Brilliant. What an excellent tool for gigs and learning new songs. Very well thought out. Highly recommended.

BazM. This is an excellent app and a great resource for musicians, both new and experienced. A print preview/print format would make it 100% perfect.

Awesome app. Really love it!. What an awesome improvement on the PC version. Could still use some browser functionality when importing songs. Example is when you import a song from chordie it makes you commence the process of searching for the site again then artist, song, etc. Not all of us around the globe enjoy fast Internet speed. The other thing is an NSErrorRule bla bla (999) keeps rearing it's ugly head. Anyway in terms of having all my songs in one location, transposable, linked to the track and columned on to one page.... Songbook ROCKS!!!!

Really Great App. Had a problem recently where it was quitting soon after start up because I had some multi-page PDFs in the library that were causing a memory crash... but since I removed those files from my Dropbox everything seems to work fine again. This is a really great app, has terrific functionality. Love the easy editing, transposing, organising playlists, and live scrolling. I have over 700 songs and use this app all the time. It’d be good if the trashcan delete symbol wasn’t so close to the symbol for editing song order, I’ve accidentally hit that a few times when reordering playlists. There’s also sometimes a glitch when inputting chord symbols sometimes it forgets to close the square bracket and I have to do it manually... but generally the interface is really easy and great for fast edits. Really useful tab creating feature as well. Well recommended.

Songbook. This app is a good enough reason to buy an iPad.

Update problems. Since the update I can't access any of my songs :(

Very Reliable since day one.. Songbook has definitely been my go to choice and I find it more easily than a few others. Importing and Exporting is simple once you know how to use it proper. For an Australian user, I find it very easy and more happier than ever I’ve been using. Plus with my other iPads I’ve got, my fellow users love using it while it’s be synced to the main one between the 3 iPads. I currently have 4 iPads to take with me and For my solo shows, I only take one with me. Songbook is my go to for my lyrics. Even for my own songwriting compatibility Songs I take. Would recommend it to anyone.

Great for ukulele song sheets. I am just learning the ukulele and I wanted something that I could transfer all my printed song sheets to, so that I had them all in one convenient place. This app was so easy to use and was a breeze to enter a song in from scratch. I can see the chords as I play and see the whole song on one screen if I want. Great app guys - full marks for quality.

Drop box my songs. Hi guys, i have around 200 songs saved into my drop box and for some reason whatever i do the app wont show my songs, am i doing something wrong, hope you can help, cheers

Song book. Has some limitations, I have it on three devises an iPad and windows On the iPad it will only print in landscape, I can not for the love of me find how to edit a song, the lyrics are large and the chord is very small I can not find a way to reverse that. it just will not print at all. Another fault, The program is different on each devise, the control and settings are different on each device so I will only give it one star Cannot find how to get to font and colour settings seems no box for it?

Top class. Great program. It has some irritations though. After editing and resaving a text file, I cannot work out how to force an immediate update via Dropbox. Replacing the file via iTunes does the trick but you must have your iPad connected to do that. Nevertheless, the instant transposition of chords makes this a must have for young guitarists. I have found that setting up a template with the maximum number of lines down and characters across in both wide and narrow orientation make setting new songs up a lot easier. Monospace font of course.

Songbook. An excellent application if you play the guitar. The additional feature for changing the chords is great. This application is a must for music lovers. Take it anywhere, and you'll have all your songs ready to be played anytime, and in the night without any light the backlight screen is great. I only wish if the guitar chords could have been changed to play the piano. Great edit function, and so easy to add songs......excellent anyway you look at it.

Very handy & well designed. I use this little app more and more each day. Well done!!!

Great App!. Fantastic app, easy to use and edit. Would be great if you could highlight chords in different colours or draw/write notes on the page

Terrible. There is only one song on this app!!!!!

Devastated. I was just starting to get the hang of this app and put on a heap of my songs. When I opened it today, they are all gone!! I am shattered and can not get any help to understand what has happened.

Great app for Ukulele too. I use this app regularly when out and about with my Uke. It's great that you can switch the chord charts to a Ukulele setting.

What a great app.. 50 ukulele players and 600 songs saved us over 30,000 pieces of paper. Been using for five years without any glitches.

Very Comprehensive. Absolutely stunning execution, stable and feature-rich! I've been looking for something like this for ages!

SOG directives. I think I like the automatic set up 4.9.1 provides for the SOG tag, but I would like it even more if the various component bits would appear in the little selection bar above the keyboard much like the chords appear. Example: |: Would also like to see end bar |. correctly implemented.

Problem last update. Since last update the family sharing is not working and the application is not starting saying that application is not share anymore, even that we only have one ipad using it. Now we don’t have access to more tha a year work (more than 1600 songs).Could you please fix this asap.

Great music tool. After fooling around with a frustrating paper based sheet music system I am so delighted to have found this wonderful tool. It is truly a time saver and a delight to use. I find that my guitar practice time is put to much better use. Features like the transposition tool is awesome and let's me change a song's key instantly, WOW! Love it. I have also integrated a bluetooth page turn pedal system to take advantage of another great feature in this app. Makes following long scores much simpler than before. The massive and easy to use chord chart is also really useful and quickly let's me integrate new voicing to my music. The integrated sheet editor works great when I need to make changes or even write my own songs. There are many other great features to this app, which simply make guitar practice and live playing so much more pleasant. Great job and I look forward to future enhancements. I use a first generation IPad and everything works great. Please do not change the software in a way that would force me to upgrade to a new IPad. This happens too often with many software developers and ruin cost effective solutions. A real fan, John H. Kennedy

Do not use this application if you are using Pages on your iPad!. There is a conflict as it will grab documents from your e-mail and it does not let you choose Pages. As well, inserting chord names into song lyrics manually is very difficult; the brackets that you have to select to do so are very small and really hard to use on a touch screen. Overall, a waste of money. This my last use of the application before I delete it!

What happened?!?!?!. I’ve been using this app for years and it’s been amazing. Two days ago, I’m at a live show and for whatever reason the app didn’t come up. I checked for updates and didn’t see any. It still hasn’t come up again and I play live shows daily. I’m on my way to another. Live show right now. This should be interesting. Can someone please get back to me and tell me what’s happened or how I can get all my songs back immediately?! I literally have close to 300 songs saved and there’s no possible way I can sit down between now and tomorrow and remember what I had. I guess this is what happens when you put so much in technology and dispense with all the physical songbooks.

Great Application. GREAT APPLICATION

Swing and a miss. The latest update says it has "improved synchronization". All synchronization on all four of my devices has ceased completely and I have no recourse to fix it. It's not a Dropbox issue, the little rotating ball on the top left of the "Categories" page is gone on all devices. The Help" shows a manual synchronization button but that's gone too. Please help. I loved this app up until this problem erupted.

Great app, great features. Super service! Reported a problem on Friday with this not working on iOS 7 and it was fixed and on the App Store by Monday! Still love this app! This is a great app for anyone that plays an instrument and can work with "lead sheets" (chords and lyrics) or just Lyrics. They keep adding features and respond to user feedback quickly. Great value! I use it for gigs with their Playlist feature, and for working on songs. No more binders with pages falling out and it is all indexed! Syncs with Dropbox and there is a PC app if you like to use a mouse and full keyboard. It is easy to share songs with friends or print out Lyric sheets etc. Check the features

Love this program. Best one I’ve tried out

Awesome App, Awesome Support. I’ve been using Songbook Chordpro on my iPad Pro for nearly 8 years. The tools in the iOS version are exceptional for creating and editing songs. The only thing that I miss from the Windows version is the find/replace tool and the more comprehensive printing tools. Having said that, it’s very easy to work between platforms to have the best of both. This is very well-designed app that is both powerful and simple. On my wish list would be transposition of TABs (not an easy programming task). Otherwise, I’m very satisfied. Excellent support and turnaround time is usually within 24 hours.

Delete song message appeared out of the blue.. Delete song message appeared and requested 173 songs needed to be deleted. There were 500 songs loaded onto application. Forced the deletion of all songs. Not a good quality of an app that a band are limited to but 500 songs are a bit accessible for any person to consider to play.

Thank You for this amazing App. I have come to rely on this Application to provide me with many aspects of my performance. Access to my song lyrics which are linked to my backing tracks is only the tip of the ice burg. The ability to create “play lists” for each venue, make performance notes in my song files and change the key to any song to match my vocal range translates into value for my money. Thank you to the developer for an application that is spot on.

Indispensable. Avec plusieurs centaines de chansons à mon répertoire Songbook est vite devenu un outil indispensable pour pratiquer et pour performer.

Best of them all. We have 55 ukulele players in our group. We have 733 songs stored in Dropbox. Everyone syncs with Songbook flawlessly when they open the app. We have saved well over 40,000 pieces of paper. Plus reprints after a change. Quite often a change of key is requested for a song. In five seconds it’s done. Everyone resyncs and in another five seconds we are playing in a new key. Thank you Linke!

Love it!. I'm having so much fun with this app, it feels like it should be illegal! Also bought the desktop version to make editing easier (difficult on my iPad). Sync them up and I'm good to go! I highly recommend this!

Songbook Chordpro.. I have used this App over many years maybe at least 20 and have been very please. Once you get to use it you will find how easy it is to use. I go to other sites eg CHORDIE , ULTIMATE GITAR TO NAME A COUPLE > I find music with chords then go to Apple Music to hear how to play the tunes right. I don’t work for Apple but it is so useful .I Play with other players and we share songs and play at bars with family and homes over the years. It is so easy to share a song with chords and words. Couldn’t be without it .

How to fixe sharing app thât has been stopped without loosing data. À friend share The app and than stopped share it. To be able to keep all thé songs, To uninstall without erasing data, had to do it from general settings-IPad storage-SongBook where you can remove app without erasing data. But after, I couldn’t buy app as it was only available to download, so I bought it as a present that I sent to myself by email. Then I have been able to install. All thé data was there after 😀sorry for m’y english!

Every Guitar player showed have this app.. I have had this app for years, and its been great! Easy to use, Dose what its supposed to do and does it well! Recently I have had issues with it; missing playlists and songs- yet when I looked into it I discovered that it was not this app but the place I had been storing the files. When I contacted the songbook support people I received a prompt email back (on News Years Eve no less); the email confirmed what I thought was happening and I was able to correct all my issues. If I could give this app 6 stars I would. One note of caution: if you use Dropbox with it BACKUP you files and playlists… Dropbox has been doing odd things lately. Cheers DK

Not bad. The app is good but tech support doesn't seem to know much about it.

SongBook. Efficace et très utile pour regrouper notre musique! On peut lire notre musique sur notre tablette et en même temps écouter l’enregistrement musical dans un autre fichier. J’aime bien.

Nice. This app is the only app I use for writing editing and playing music, it has everything you need for the most part and functionality between devices is very good and I’m sure it will get better with ongoing updates very happy with this app

Loses PDF files regularly. I have been at gigs and stepped on my pedal to go to the next song and received a message saying song not found. Each time that song had completely disappeared from the Songbook app. I had to add it again. I may need to switch to another app for gigs. If this issue were fixed, I would give 5 stars.

BEST FOR LIVE PERFORMANCES.. Over the years I have used a number of apps for my charts and backing tracks. For the past couple of years I’ve been using Songbook Chordpro. Without a doubt, for me it’s the best of the bunch. I use it on an iPad Mini or my iPhone, controlling the app with an AirTurn footswitch over Bluetooth. I highly recommend.

Songbook ChordPro (Linkesoft). Great product, incredible service, has withstood the test of time, technology and things that go bump in the night!

SomgBook is great. This is an awesome app for guitarists / singers. Well worth the cost. Like having a big binder of music with you at all times. 2 friends have it and we can share songs and play together 1000 miles apart

Excellent support. Emails returned with solutions within 24 hours. Apps works flawlesly. I dropped other app that I hab been using for 10 years. Very happy with app. Many une pected features.

Love this app!. Use this app with a uke group and have recommended to many people. They all love it too. I appreciate the recent change for searching the internet without having to retype the song name. Try this app you won’t regret it.

Songbook Chordpro - disappointing. I had high hopes for this app and picked it over OnSong mainly due to the on screen chord bar, user entered chord patterns and a couple other interface issues I thought might be an advantage. Unfortunately, this app was such a letdown on the way it handles imports of tab files I went back and bought OnSong less than 2 hours later. The problem is that I have a substantial library of tab song sheets (chords above lyrics)not the Chordpro format (chords in [G] format inserted within the lyrics). Songbook will open them but it screws up the chord placement dramatically so that the chords are way off where they should be above the lyrics below. Furthermore, it doesn't recognize the chords as chords, just lyrics so no chord features like diagrams, formatting or transposing are available. OnSong on the other hand imports my files almost perfectly and recognizes the cords in the proper location. OnSong doesn't have a couple of the features in SongBook like swipe to next song, the chord bar at bottom of screen but if it comes to pretty much redoing 400 odd songs I'll give up a couple little features that I can probably live without vs a better import function. Autoscroll works well I both apps as does metronome, play along, cataloging etc etc. in e end I would have been happy with this app if its import function was anywhere as good as its competition when it comes to regular song tabs. You can find free converter programs online like 'Songsheet Generator' and it does a pretty decent job of converting tab to chordpro, not perfect but decent. This beggs the question, if Songsheet Generator can do this why can't Songbook? Impliment this feature and this app would be #1 IMO.

No Google Drive support. It’s devastating that Songbook will no longer be able to link to Google Drive. I have so many devices that I have been linking to Google Drive, including iOS, Mac and Windows. The app is great, but this is a devastating setback for users.

Change. Lost all my songs and don’t know why? Why they were and cannot be stored in iCloud? I told so many people in past years how good “song book” was and they also paid and got it. Now why the change I have no idea. Losing my 500+ songs for guitar playing has devastating for me. Sure not happy anymore, however you probably cold care less.

10 years and still my favourite app. Been using this for 10 years now and I love it. I also use the desktop version for editing. The syncing between songbook and Dropbox is seamless and super easy. Sharing Dropbox and songbook tunes with bandmates is also very easy. I have a few other tablet song programs because different bands have different ways of working. This one is the easiest to use maintain and share. I keep coming back.

So Good!. Thank you for this amazing app! I finally got rid of my giant binder full of worship songs! Everything works perfectly with this app. Easy to import files from dropbox and back up all my songs there as well. I have it synced to ipad and iphone and everything works as needed. Once again, so good!

Useful app for musicians. This app is user friendly and a very good tool for any musician. There’s just one thing that I wish I could do with it, it’s to be able to annotate the songs. Sy Lem

Confusing and not easy to use this app. I was trying to load songbook pro but this app is named similarly and soaked me for $20 dollars and I cannot get it to download songs. I usually use ultimate guitar which is so straight forward. Feel like I was ripped off.

Great App. This is an update to my Dec 10 review. Contacted the developer through the help, not so easy to find. Got a response the next day. Turned off PDF search and everything worked fine. Also got a response from Apple about a month later. Used to carry around several thick binders of music, now only carry an iPad. I’m also leading a zoom Ukulele group and encourage everyone to switch to Songbook Chordpro instead of printing out PDFs. So many neat features in this app. Can’t praise it enough.

We Love This App!!!!. This is by far the easiest to use music app. My wife and share the music files via Dropbox which makes it very convenient. Editing is easy and finding songs with the search is simple. We use this with Riffstation to get the timing and chord placement right when learning a new song. A great App!

Five star. The best and easiest music app I’ve come across

I want my money back. This is not what I wanted. Far too unnecessarily complicated. Paul

The best app on the App Store. Congrats, This is a killer app for musicians. The updates just keep coming - Awesome

Great app. Our band has been using this for a while and are pleased with it. We have the iPads linked so when someone puts a song into it, we all receive it. We have used the app for several gigs now and it is great when you have a page turner pedal. It's easy to work and the iPads were great as night rolled in on an outdoor concert we did. The backlight made it easy to read. Worth the money!

Great app. Using on 3 platforms (IOS, Mac and Win). Hate the fact of losing support for Google )ne (Drive). Darn inconvenience since sharing on multiple platforms. :/

Bonne application. J'aime bien. Très facile a utiliser. Mais peut-on changer la police dans une même chanson. Exemple {textfont: helvetica} {textfont: courrier}

Un apli génial!. Facile d’utilisation, interactive avec les autres musiciens du groupe, c’est l’application idéal.

Simple yet powerful. I’ve been using this for years in my coverband and it’s never let me down. Editing and uploading songs is easy and intuitive. I’ve recently integrated midi controls to automatically change guitar and vocal processing patches as well as page turning with Line6 and Boss products with no issues. AND it’s a one time payment no sub. I’ve looked at others to up my game but this does exactly what I want and need.

Really good user experience.. ... and easy to share files with entire family, so all are on the ‘same page’ :-)

Missing search button. This is mostly an excellent app. I’ve been using it for years. Unfortunately, they recently removed the button that lets you quickly search online for lyrics/chords. This is a real pain at all-request gigs. Put the button back and I’ll change my rating to 5 star. (Also, add a second row of previously used chords, and this thing would be 5+.)

Songbook. It’s a great app but the directions on how to use are very lacking- it needs a rewrite

Chord Editing is Glitchy. I really like this program except the chord creating and editing is almost unusable. When you try to edit nod select a chord it displays the wrong chord. Same thing if you try to delete a chord. A real time waster when trying to do such editing. I hope they will fix this.

Song chord pro is difficult to use. This is a worthless app. Not at all intuitive..strongly recommend against until interface is improved and direct access to web and chords

Great. Have been using this app for years as a worship leader and I love it

DRC. Anyone having a problem with keyboard disappearing when trying to edit a song. I have to reboot ipad to get keyboard to come back on. I can edit some and it will do it again.

Awesome app. Wish I had this 20 years ago. I use it everyday.

Almost perfect!. What would put the software over the top would be to allow us to choose formats, such as font, bold, italic, size, etc.

Crash Factory. This app used to be great, but now unexpectedly crashes in the middle of gigs. No bueno!

Many years. Have been using this app for close to twenty years now, still as great as day one,,,, awesome!

Great Application!. For our band it was important to be able to exchange songs within our remote group and with any platform in a non-proprietary format. I use this app now with five bands. I converted our bands list of songs into TXT files, and imported them to SongBook. From Songbook I could easily sync the files into a DropBox folder. Songbook simply places the raw files in Dropbox. We can have the TXT file in Songbook on iPad and that same TXT file shows up in the Songbook folder in DropBox. Nice thing about that is we can edit the songs from any location (iPad or PC) and the Songbook sync process updates to the latest version. There are no background conversions to proprietary formats. We wanted to be able to edit songs on iPad and have those same files available for to edit on PC. SongBook can do that. We tried several other apps and some convert imported songs to proprietary formats or databases making it hard to edit the files on different devices. We also wanted to preserve the portability of the songs down the road, SongBook can do that. Really nice.

Garbage. No matter what I try , I cannot import my song list from Chordle, but before purchasing I was led to believe this was compatible. I have almost 1000 songs , reformatting or copy/paste is not an option.

Better know how to write in syntax. This is one of the least user friendly apps I’ve downloaded..why can’t I just play chords and simultaneously drop them onto the sheet in the order I’ve selected?? Why can I only select chords and see their variations, but not play them within the context of the song. Too many drop downs, too many work around. WHY WOULD I NEED TO LNOW SYNTAX TO WRITE MUSIC. Ripped me off for my money...

Disappearing Song. I’ve been using this app for many years. Now all of f the sudden songs just disappear for no reason. There is no support and no way to contact developers.

My Favorite Chordpro Compatible App. I bought and tried several ChordPro-compatible apps for managing my lead sheets and I like SongBook the best by quite a wide margin. You can figure out how to use it in about 10 minutes without reading the manual. Syncing with Dropbox works perfectly (syncing is a really challenging thing to get right). It also has the three features I need most: the ability to transpose, the ability to indicate if you are using a capo, and compatibility with a foot pedal for scrolling (it works with AirTurn and PageFlip pedals with zero setup). OnSong is probably the leader in this category but I found it to be too difficult to use. It has a lot of features but if you need 36 videos to explain how to use your app (which OnSong has) that's just too much work for me. I also had problems with OnSong's basic functionality being buggy in places. The user manual disappeared on me, and I found out on their website this is a known issue. And songs often mysteriously had one key written in the metadata but displayed another even though transposing and capo were turned off. So in conclusion, I like SongBook's ease of use and lack of bugginess. And it does just about everything I need it to do. My one request would be that it store and display PDF sheet music...for now I just use another app for that.

Love it!!. I’ve had songbook for 7yrs and rarely ever do a performance without it.

Constantly asks me to rate it in the App Store. Maybe a fantastic app, but this is too annoying.

Great app but far too many crashes. App is great but constantly crashes when editing - particularly when editing chords. Please fix! (Using iPad Pro with latest OS)

Hard to use but still useful. I haven’t tried one of these apps before and it’s a great idea. This app is hard to learn and many songs won’t import.

Where are the songs?. Why is search so hard? Why is it so hard to download songs for app on iPhone?

Sharing Files Across Devices Is Not Setting Up. Can you provide me with workable instructions on how to share song files across devices?

What I dreamed of and more. I play guitar for our church worship band, and I was looking for an app to replace my hundreds of song sheets. I figured there was something out there like a simple database that I could copy my Word and PDF files into and that would display my songs for me. This does that and much, much more. I love the auto scrolling feature, which scrolls the song if your song sheets run longer than a screen length. This is great because I can put all my band notes in my music and not have to try an read 5 point type on my iPad. It will scroll automatically at a set pace, and I can have all my notes. I also like the playlists, which makes it easy to pick the songs we are going to play for a given Sunday morning. This makes it very easy to play the song and swipe to see the next page. The only improvement I would make now is to make the scrolling and metronome active at the same time with one touch. The only way I can seem to get both of them to work by choosing metronome first and then scroll. It would be useful to have a single button. There is so much more to this app. I highly recommend it!

Songbook. What a great program. Easy to use, add and edit songs. All of the members in my local ukulele group uses it.

Band approved. My bands and I cannot live without Songbook. Is the easiest way for us to coworkers on music and ensure we’re all on the same page. It’s awesome.

Best app for worship teams. We’ve been using this app for several years. It’s by far the easiest to use for teams who need to sync files over Dropbox. It’s much better than OnSong or SongSheet pro.

Great tool for lyrics and chords. Love it

Cannot remove “C” from the titles in some songs?. I cannot figure out why on some song titles there appears a -C after the song title. How can I make this -C go away? Thank you!

Must have app. Great app for lyrics

2000 songs erased. Lost 2000 songs from songbook and don’t know why

Worth it. So easy to use and helpful

No Songs Show Up. I can’t get any results when I search songs.

Useful app!. I've have been using this for days and it's exactly what I needed, well, almost.. Pdf reader could be better...

Doesn't authenticate with google. Linking with google drive doesn't work. I log in successfully but then safari says there is an improper URL and returning to songbook gives oauth error -4

Nag screen. I don’t want the nag screen asking for write and review. Why it doesn’t stop? It is very slow when I have many songs with tags. It should indexing previously for speed.

Program. This a awesome tool for musicians

Should have gotten this long ago!. I had

You'll appreciate this program more after you tried some of the others.. This program has evolved very well since the first iteration. I have sent in several feature requests to the developer that were implemented into SongBook. The developer is very responsive and is constantly improving SongBook. The Dropbox syncing works great. I am having problems thinking of new features I would like added to SongBook. It really works well for our jam group—a great way to share and update our song list. Songbook is well worth the price. I've also used a very similarly named "free" app. The price may seem right, but trust me, you'll be better off with this app. One word of warning though: if you're counting on downloading ChordPro files from the web, good luck. I've authored nearly all of my own files (over 400 so far), as the files found on the web are pretty unreliable as far as accuracy goes, and not as easily found as you might hope. Like everything else the more effort you put in, the better the results you'll get. Songbook Chordpro is a great app!

Google Drive Support Removed. Google Drive support is being discontinued for all customers because developer does not want to certify for Google’s security standards, which it requires for all apps. Instead he would rather remove features you have enjoyed until now.

Love it. Love it

I like it, I use it EVERY DAY (no lie). It. It's not perfect, so I'll withhold a star for now, but it's still awesome. It's been a huge help with managing all of the song sheets I need to reference for various gigs. I'd like to see the interface for editing song lists and categories because it's just not as slick as everything else in this app. You can drag songs into the app through iTunes and you can drag them OUT to your computer as well. It's MUCH easier to find songs & import them using the iPad, however. ChordPro files are helpful, but they have their limitations--if you use the handy "search-the-net-and-import" functionality (which is INCREDIBLY slick and awesome) you need to CAREFULLY review the document you find. Shared ChordPro documents are full of errors. But this isn't a problem with the software. I've organized all of my band's covers and put them in this software and I now use my iPad at almost every jam session and gig. Now, if someone calls out something I don't know yet I can find it in on my iPad and I'm all set. This (and the RealBook app) are MUST HAVES for any musician with an iPad!!!

I like it. I use this app ALL the time. I'm a piano man and this app is the bomb. Looks and acts just like I want it to. Very customizable.

Great APP. We use this app every time we play, on stage or in jams! Never failed us!

Great by itself!. This app is great by itself and works beautifully, until you try the play together feature. On 3 iPads on stage and couldn’t keep them connected during a show! This definitely killed the vibe for me and our Bluegrass group! Fix the Play together feature and this will be a hit!

Apple Pencil. Only thing missing now is to let me use Apple Pencil to make notes for later edits while playing.

Question. Can somebody explain the reason why from time to time happen the music unlink from the song? Even so five stars

Not easy to use. Better support needed

1 song only. It’s so hard to find songs and the chords are too small so confusing apps only one song available green sleeves .

App pretty good, but support is worse than terrible. Title says it all. Support is non existent.

Sync. App is no longer syncing across devices via the ‘songs’ tab.

Best in class. The best thing I found to keep my songs organized.

End of Google drive synch. The company will stop google drive sync just because google requires a yearly security audit. Unbelievable. Great product but wrong business behavior. After 5 yrs using it, I am moving out.

Bulk import. Difficult to bulk import song files. Otherwise, SongBook is an improvement over OnSong.

This App is the best!. This app keeps getting better every update. Keep it coming guys!!!
