Doesn’t work with new iPad. First of all, if you have a newer Mac book, you won’t have ITunes so you can’t import music sheets because it says you have to have ITunes. Second, it doesn’t have the search for songs on the internet like it says. Third, there is no way to contact the developer to see if there are ways around it. Total waist of money. Can’t import and can’t search for songs on the internet

God Bless the developer of this app!. Finally found the ultimate Songbook that works for me. It’s just technical enough to do the important useful functions, but not complicated and buggie to confuse us old school guys - I use this a lot! Really like it Thanks

DRC. Anyone having a problem with keyboard disappearing when trying to edit a song. I have to reboot ipad to get keyboard to come back on. I can edit some and it will do it again.

My Go-To Songbook app!. I’ve been using SongBook ChordPro for a few years now. I love how easy it is to use on any of the versions. I have the MacOS, iOS, iPadOS, and Windows versions and am using a Dropbox folder to share all my chord sheets between devices. The only thing I might ask for to improve working with the app might be an expanded ChordPro insert menu, or at least a reference sheet of all the ChordPro tags that are supported. I started using the app for my guitar sheets for jam sessions. It really helps to have all my chord sheets on my iPad rather than a binder full of loose sheets that I have to shuffle through and re-organize all the time! I’ve now started using it for my newly-acquired mandolin, and I love that I can set the instrument using ChordPro notation and the app gives me the correct chords! I’ve also played around with the group sharing function, and that really works nicely! Unfortunately most of the groups I jam with aren’t quite the tech-enthusiasts that I am, so I don’t usually get to take advantage of that set of features...but it’s nice to have the option! In short, keep up the good work! I love this app!

This App is the best!. This app keeps getting better every update. Keep it coming guys!!!

You'll appreciate this program more after you tried some of the others.. This program has evolved very well since the first iteration. I have sent in several feature requests to the developer that were implemented into SongBook. The developer is very responsive and is constantly improving SongBook. The Dropbox syncing works great. I am having problems thinking of new features I would like added to SongBook. It really works well for our jam group—a great way to share and update our song list. Songbook is well worth the price. I've also used a very similarly named "free" app. The price may seem right, but trust me, you'll be better off with this app. One word of warning though: if you're counting on downloading ChordPro files from the web, good luck. I've authored nearly all of my own files (over 400 so far), as the files found on the web are pretty unreliable as far as accuracy goes, and not as easily found as you might hope. Like everything else the more effort you put in, the better the results you'll get. Songbook Chordpro is a great app!

It would have been 5 stars but no iCloud. I have the app on my Mac Pro, Mac mini, and MacBook Pro, and it gets the songs perfectly there. I truly love the Mac version. However the iPad App only does DropBox, GoogleDrive and Microsoft cloud sharing, or manual sharing thru Files App, which makes it almost totally useless for me. If you can do without iCloud, I strongly recommend it. However I don't use any of those cloud file systems , so it has become totally useless. In the three and a half years time period I have owned this App, I have used it 3 times. The third time being tonight, and discovering, again, why it is useless to me. I can download the songs piece by piece, but what a pain. In this day and age, it is infuriating to find an App that doesn't automatically sync on iCloud. If you want iCloud sync, stay away, if it is not important for you, then by all means get it.

Top Notch Software. I moved from a competitor Song management system to this one because this runs on all platforms that I use and has the features I need. Works great. I especially love the “Play Together” function. And the option to send MIDI comments when songs are selected is fabulous. Keeps my pedal patches, looper, and drummer in sync with my songs. One irritating thing however is MIDI commands are sent to ALL devices on all ports with no option to turn a particular port off. Most of the time this is not an issue but it affects me because changing songs freezes my AKAI APC40 MK II. It sure would be nice to be able to turn off sending MIDI commands to some ports while keeping others engaged.

Great easy to use. Super practical!. I had been using this app for a long time now and I can recommend it! I have a extensive amount of songs that I use every Saturday for worship and this app had become my little helper. I can connect my songs from iPhone to iPad and I can transpose chords in a fly with no problem. Dev is updating this in timely manner and they responded quick when I pointed to a bug.

Excellent App and Service. I have used another app for years that slowly but surely got way too big and complex beyond its original purpose. This app does exactly what it says and limits its functionality to what is needed to maintain neat and organized charts. I wrote the author once asking a question and received an almost immediate reply unlike other apps that take forever to acknowledge your existence This is a great app and you will not be disappointed. Thank you

My Favorite Chordpro Compatible App. I bought and tried several ChordPro-compatible apps for managing my lead sheets and I like SongBook the best by quite a wide margin. You can figure out how to use it in about 10 minutes without reading the manual. Syncing with Dropbox works perfectly (syncing is a really challenging thing to get right). It also has the three features I need most: the ability to transpose, the ability to indicate if you are using a capo, and compatibility with a foot pedal for scrolling (it works with AirTurn and PageFlip pedals with zero setup). OnSong is probably the leader in this category but I found it to be too difficult to use. It has a lot of features but if you need 36 videos to explain how to use your app (which OnSong has) that's just too much work for me. I also had problems with OnSong's basic functionality being buggy in places. The user manual disappeared on me, and I found out on their website this is a known issue. And songs often mysteriously had one key written in the metadata but displayed another even though transposing and capo were turned off. So in conclusion, I like SongBook's ease of use and lack of bugginess. And it does just about everything I need it to do. My one request would be that it store and display PDF sheet music...for now I just use another app for that.

There is no method of import in the current iTunes Store on my iPad Pro. I followed the tutorials and hadn’t realized that the information is dated. My Apple Music and ITunes Store Apps do not allow me to access a menu where “apps” is an option so there is no directory that is supposedly shared by Songbook Chordpro with either Apple Music or the ITunes Store. Unless I’m missing something; it probably worked with older versions of ITunes but not the current ITunes Store.

Great for sync’ing. Here’s what this app does better than your $30 music score app - it syncs flawlessly. If you’ve got a collaborating group sharing a Dropbox folder, it’s great. Deleted songs get deleted - imagine that! Here’s what it also does better than the $30 competitors - it re-scales and reformats text if you zoom real time. So your about to play a song and need it bigger, pinch and zoom and the lines re-wrap. It also keeps it simple with the ChordPro markups. The PDF handing is awful - the only reason why this app needs a companion app or PDF reader.

Sharing files in iOS messenger. Unable to open shared files on certain devices. My iPhone opens files with the songbook app, iPad does not. Our singer could open shared files last week, this week nothing. All devices on the same iOS update, and latest songbook update. Update. Support knows less about the app than I do, as such, no help whatsoever.

Pretty good, but needs to support Apple ecosystem. Likes: Supports iPad, iPhone, Mac. I own all three. Great screen formatting Respects your privacy. Collects no data Supports the Apple store on Mac Dislikes: Mac version has very clunky transport controls. Needs to synchronize through iCloud. Needs to directly support Apple Music without having to make a copy of each song as an mp3. Navigation gets slow on 2019 iMac with 300 songs Verdict: I put three hundred songs in this, and tried it for a month. I have gone back to OnSong. (I bought before they went subscription) This would be my go to instead of OnSong if it fully supported the Apple ecosystem, but without that, it’s not for me. Privacy issues for those who care: This app respects your privacy, which is great. Then to synch, they use google and box, who DEFINITELY don’t. Go figure…..

Question. Can somebody explain the reason why from time to time happen the music unlink from the song? Even so five stars

Great to have access to my songs on all my platforms. I have used most of the chord chart apps available in the App Store. I have been using Songbook Chordpro for several years and I always seem to gravitate back to it as my first choice. Because it uses the Songbook folder in Dropbox and is set to automatically update when I write something new or add a piece, my songs are the same whether I use it on iPhone, iPad, or my MacBook Pro. What other program can do that and do it so well. I’ll eventually get an Apple Watch and my songs will be available there. I appreciate a developer who takes the time and effort to make their app available everywhere. I no longer use Windows, but I could, and my songs would be available there. I got used to using the simple syntax of Chordpro to write out my songs and I don’t have to worry about my chords showing up over the wrong words like if I wrote them in Word. Those who whine and complain about this being too hard are not really thinking about how Chordpro creates more accurate leadsheets to share with others. And Songbook Chordpro creates great printed leadsheets for those needing a paper copy of my song. All in all, great job guys. I’m very happy to be a customer and look forward to continuing to use the software for my music for years to come.

Learning currve. The learning curve can get frustrating but if you can get through it… instruction for very beginners is hard to find. Now I recommend it to friends and show them how to use it.

Garbage. No matter what I try , I cannot import my song list from Chordle, but before purchasing I was led to believe this was compatible. I have almost 1000 songs , reformatting or copy/paste is not an option.

Apple Pencil. Only thing missing now is to let me use Apple Pencil to make notes for later edits while playing.

My go to app for songs with lyrics and chords.. I have had this app forever and I don’t know what I’d do without it! It’s easy to input a song from the internet and from scratch (although songs from ultimate guitar are more difficult to download now than it used to be, probably UG is making it that way so you subscribe to their app 😝). I have 600+ songs and it works just fine. I use it on an iPad and iPhone and it syncs with no problem through Dropbox, although I’d like to see iCloud support.

Best Song App Ever!. I use this app almost every day, I have 506 songs on it and have it on various phones and iPads, I update and sync with Dropbox. It is amazingly easy to use and to maintain, I have Spanish songs, English songs, Jazz, compositions in progress, etc. I can get songs from the internet with chordpro format or can load them directly and configure to my taste and ability. I use guitar and ukelele chord banks. If you want to excel playing songs and have your library neatly organized, this is the app for you, I very highly recommend it, you’ll love it!

App pretty good, but support is worse than terrible. Title says it all. Support is non existent.

Sharing Files Across Devices Is Not Setting Up. Can you provide me with workable instructions on how to share song files across devices?

Used to love it. I used to love this app, but lately its doing some strange things. Like when I transpose a song and save it, it reverts back to the original key. There used to be a way to get support for the app, but that seems to have disappeared.

Songbook. What a great program. Easy to use, add and edit songs. All of the members in my local ukulele group uses it.

Excellent App. We currently have 12 of 18 musicians in our jamming group using Songbook on iPads. It is so useful and the updates are always more useful ways for this APP. I have 2981 songs set up from fiddle tune chord charts to lyrics with chords. In a group setting we can quickly change keys as well as airdrop tunes to fellow musicians so they can play along within in seconds. Highly recommended to many friends.

What I dreamed of and more. I play guitar for our church worship band, and I was looking for an app to replace my hundreds of song sheets. I figured there was something out there like a simple database that I could copy my Word and PDF files into and that would display my songs for me. This does that and much, much more. I love the auto scrolling feature, which scrolls the song if your song sheets run longer than a screen length. This is great because I can put all my band notes in my music and not have to try an read 5 point type on my iPad. It will scroll automatically at a set pace, and I can have all my notes. I also like the playlists, which makes it easy to pick the songs we are going to play for a given Sunday morning. This makes it very easy to play the song and swipe to see the next page. The only improvement I would make now is to make the scrolling and metronome active at the same time with one touch. The only way I can seem to get both of them to work by choosing metronome first and then scroll. It would be useful to have a single button. There is so much more to this app. I highly recommend it!

Many advantages over OnSong!. I have bought this for virtually every platform that it is available and my song stuff seamlessly integrates across devices with Dropbox. So cool! Has 2 column support in landscape for less or in some cases no scrolling (OnSong still doesn’t despite 2+ years of promising it is coming soon). Price / features way cheaper than OnSong. Buy the PC version too if you use Songbook much because they compliment each other so well it is very worth it!

Best app for worship teams. We’ve been using this app for several years. It’s by far the easiest to use for teams who need to sync files over Dropbox. It’s much better than OnSong or SongSheet pro.

Great app but far too many crashes. App is great but constantly crashes when editing - particularly when editing chords. Please fix! (Using iPad Pro with latest OS)

Great app - suggestions for improvement. I have been using this app for years. I’m a professional musician, and use this to organize gigs. I especially love how playlists can be shared between devices. Suggestions: - I would like to have more control over formatting the way songs are printed. On some songs, the words are cut off, or the chord symbols are way too small to see. - I wish there was a way to print the list of songs in a playlist.

What?. I have used apps to manage setlists many times and I’ve never found one so difficult to figure out. As a matter of fact I still haven’t got a setlist setup. At one point I thought I did but couldn’t get it to scroll. Then when I went back to it the songs were listed but gone. And when I went back to the main list they were gone or contained the lyrics from the song above it in the list. I want my $11 back!

Wow. This is a great app for working players. Once you get the hang of it you will find it very easy to use and work with. It has everything you need for chords and lyrics. I use it for gigs for that purpose. I don’t use charts so I can’t grade that part but for lyrics and chords it’s is awesome. Getting songs from the web could not be easier! I had some stored in Word and converted them via “note pad” on the PC. Others I got from Ultimate Guitar. Just get to the tune and import it in the program. Easy! I highly recommend this app for gigging players. You will love the ease of use .... and the support could not be better.

Useful app!. I've have been using this for days and it's exactly what I needed, well, almost.. Pdf reader could be better...

Great by itself!. This app is great by itself and works beautifully, until you try the play together feature. On 3 iPads on stage and couldn’t keep them connected during a show! This definitely killed the vibe for me and our Bluegrass group! Fix the Play together feature and this will be a hit!

Love the app but loses my songs. I have been using Songbook for several years as an amateur musician who is starting to gig some. Love the way it pulls songs from Chordie and allows key transitions, manual entering comments, etc. I have over 1300 songs on my two iPads and they sync nicely when making changes in either one. HOWEVER, several times I have selected songs that I have been playing for years and it will suddenly say “SONG NOT FOUND”. The title is there, but not the song. One time it suddenly lost over 300 songs at one time, many of these were entered manually or had changes made in them manually to better suit our performance style. The first time this happened, I spent weeks going thru my list and finding the lost songs and loading them in again, or, even worse, manually entering them again. It has happened several more times but not to that extent. I am becoming hesitant to use the app now, for fear it will lose songs during or right before a gig. What could be causing this? Thanks!! Ollie

Song chord pro is difficult to use. This is a worthless app. Not at all intuitive..strongly recommend against until interface is improved and direct access to web and chords

Cannot remove “C” from the titles in some songs?. I cannot figure out why on some song titles there appears a -C after the song title. How can I make this -C go away? Thank you!

Teleprompter saves paper good bye notebooks of music. How many banjo pickers does it take to transpose a song with more than three chords? Just one if they have this app! Goes from I IV V to G C D from simple text file format. Internet importer keeps getting smarter. Well done. Money well spent 🎶 Now if we can fix all the lyrics typos online. The latest upgrades make this app even better. scale to fit wireless printing, PDF viewer. Great job!

Thank you for updates. Thank you for the updates that allow Songbook to work on older iPads. Appreciated.

Great tool for musicians!. I live this app for storing and accessing song charts. I had an issue where I would change fonts and the change would not be applied. I finally noticed the option of “Fixed Font…” It would be great to get a prompt indicating that setting would prevent font changes. Other than that this app has been great! Thanks!

Crash Factory. This app used to be great, but now unexpectedly crashes in the middle of gigs. No bueno!

Downgraded- App getting worse. downgraded to 2 stars - good for organization, playlists. But they removed the very functions I gave them 5 stars for! I wrote a 5 star review about 2 years ago, which still shows up on their app reviews. I thanked the developers for adding ½ page scroll for pdf files at my request and for the way they fixed pagination of pdf files. I use pdf lead sheets and sheet music exclusively since I find Chordie file format to be useless. These functions disappeared with no warning last year and have not come back. I’m in the process of switching to a better music reader. I guess they got my money...

Apple Watch Support. I love this app. Been using it since version 1. Please update the Apple Watch support. First line of chords of a song, no lyrics, just one playlist. Whole song with chords and auto scroll would be nice. Then I’ll up my rating to 5 stars. Thanks.

Doesn't authenticate with google. Linking with google drive doesn't work. I log in successfully but then safari says there is an improper URL and returning to songbook gives oauth error -4

Better know how to write in syntax. This is one of the least user friendly apps I’ve downloaded..why can’t I just play chords and simultaneously drop them onto the sheet in the order I’ve selected?? Why can I only select chords and see their variations, but not play them within the context of the song. Too many drop downs, too many work around. WHY WOULD I NEED TO LNOW SYNTAX TO WRITE MUSIC. Ripped me off for my money...

Well Supported App!. I have been using this app for over five years now. The developer is constantly updating and supporting users. He is great to work with! This app sure beats my old three ring binder! Best thing about this app is you can do lyrics and chords for a given song and when needed, use the Tab Generator for solos as well. The Tab Generator is a bit buggy, but it is workable. Wish it would link to Apple’s Files app. In the final analysis, you won’t be disappointed.

Disappearing Song. I’ve been using this app for many years. Now all of f the sudden songs just disappear for no reason. There is no support and no way to contact developers.

Sync Overwrites Newer Files. When syncing between devices, newer modified files are sometimes overwritten... meaning that work is lost. No iCloud support between Mac and iOS devices?

BazM. This is an excellent app and a great resource for musicians, both new and experienced. A print preview/print format would make it 100% perfect.

Really Great App. Had a problem recently where it was quitting soon after start up because I had some multi-page PDFs in the library that were causing a memory crash... but since I removed those files from my Dropbox everything seems to work fine again. This is a really great app, has terrific functionality. Love the easy editing, transposing, organising playlists, and live scrolling. I have over 700 songs and use this app all the time. It’d be good if the trashcan delete symbol wasn’t so close to the symbol for editing song order, I’ve accidentally hit that a few times when reordering playlists. There’s also sometimes a glitch when inputting chord symbols sometimes it forgets to close the square bracket and I have to do it manually... but generally the interface is really easy and great for fast edits. Really useful tab creating feature as well. Well recommended.

Awesome app. Really love it!. What an awesome improvement on the PC version. Could still use some browser functionality when importing songs. Example is when you import a song from chordie it makes you commence the process of searching for the site again then artist, song, etc. Not all of us around the globe enjoy fast Internet speed. The other thing is an NSErrorRule bla bla (999) keeps rearing it's ugly head. Anyway in terms of having all my songs in one location, transposable, linked to the track and columned on to one page.... Songbook ROCKS!!!!

Just what I've been looking for. I've been looking for something like this to ditch my binders full of songs (sorry Mitt, just songs) in this format for a while. Didn't need endless clever features, sure as hell wasn't about to pay a subscription to store my songs, just format, store and organise. This does that really well. Little but exe compared to some, but I'll sometimes pay more for less features, just do the simple job well. The editing can be a little cumbersome on the iPad but that's something I'll get used to. If you just want your songs nicely organised, I recommend it.

Very handy & well designed. I use this little app more and more each day. Well done!!!

Brilliant. What an excellent tool for gigs and learning new songs. Very well thought out. Highly recommended.

Top class. Great program. It has some irritations though. After editing and resaving a text file, I cannot work out how to force an immediate update via Dropbox. Replacing the file via iTunes does the trick but you must have your iPad connected to do that. Nevertheless, the instant transposition of chords makes this a must have for young guitarists. I have found that setting up a template with the maximum number of lines down and characters across in both wide and narrow orientation make setting new songs up a lot easier. Monospace font of course.

Great app for Ukulele too. I use this app regularly when out and about with my Uke. It's great that you can switch the chord charts to a Ukulele setting.

Egrrrrr. So far no joy in importing songs. Seems very cumbersome. Will update this comment if I manage to get some songs in. Still very undecided.

Cool. Works well !

Update problems. Since the update I can't access any of my songs :(

Great for ukulele song sheets. I am just learning the ukulele and I wanted something that I could transfer all my printed song sheets to, so that I had them all in one convenient place. This app was so easy to use and was a breeze to enter a song in from scratch. I can see the chords as I play and see the whole song on one screen if I want. Great app guys - full marks for quality.

Song book. IF you are a guitar player you need this app very good

Song book. Has some limitations, I have it on three devises an iPad, iMac and windows 10. On the iPad it will only print in landscape, on the iMac I can not for the love of me find how to edit a song, the lyrics are large and the chord is very small I can not find a way to reverse that. On windows 10 it just will not print at all. Another fault, on the iPad if the iPad is touched just slightly the song will jump to the end no matter where you are in it. The program is different on each devise, the control and settings are different on each device so I will only give it two stars.

Song book app. Wicked app. The only way I could see an improvement is if I could sync the scrolling function with lyrics section of the mp3 backing tracks I use for gigs. Lol. The Tap, zoom and auto fit the screen to see lyrics and chords better on the screen is really helpful. Something else I think is helpful is helpful is clicking on the chord mid song and various chord versions are available. There is only one song on there when you download it but I used the google search on the app and the song lyrics and chords downloaded in seconds. All in all great app. Just wish i could sync it with my mp3 backing tracks.

such a great app. BUT. It really has to many clitches when trying to shair on drop box great potental but no upgrades got to go some where else now as it to fustrating

Great App!. Fantastic app, easy to use and edit. Would be great if you could highlight chords in different colours or draw/write notes on the page

Songbook. An excellent application if you play the guitar. The additional feature for changing the chords is great. This application is a must for music lovers. Take it anywhere, and you'll have all your songs ready to be played anytime, and in the night without any light the backlight screen is great. I only wish if the guitar chords could have been changed to play the piano. Great edit function, and so easy to add songs......excellent anyway you look at it.

Absolutely Brilliant. Been looking for something like this for quite some time and this is everything you could possibly want to make your life much easier with playlists, transposing songs in an instant and adding songs quickly synchronizing with your Dropbox account is a snap, now all my songs and backing tracks are in one area and my music team all read off the one page!

Drop box my songs. Hi guys, i have around 200 songs saved into my drop box and for some reason whatever i do the app wont show my songs, am i doing something wrong, hope you can help, cheers

Terrible. There is only one song on this app!!!!!

Songbook. This app is a good enough reason to buy an iPad.

Best yet. I have tried several other aps for this purpose all have been hopeless so I had low expectations. This is the first one that all our band members like and has finally made the iPad the weapon of choice for practice as well as gigs. Had a bit of trouble trying to import via dropbox but found the search function the best way to import directly from Chordie and other sites. Love the ability to change key and the ease of editing. A truly well thought out ap and much appreciated. Thanks guys.

Not reliable. App is not reliable, cuts out and losers songs. When it does work it is good. Needs fixing

A must for all musicians, a beginners dream.. I have had this app and others like it for a long time. The updates for this one though have set it apart by miles. It is to the point where I can't make any suggestions to make it better. It is great for showing how to play chords, so even a novice can play their favorite song. For the more advanced pro gigger. It is a great reference and a on the fly uploader to find those songs randomly requested. Editing is made easy so you can modify or just write your own song and chords. Top marks for this tool.

Devastated. I was just starting to get the hang of this app and put on a heap of my songs. When I opened it today, they are all gone!! I am shattered and can not get any help to understand what has happened.

Very good. A breath of fresh air!. I looked at several similar programs before buying Songbook ChordPro and I’m glad I did. No advertising, no badgering for credit cards, no subscription, just a solid useful app. It’s not 100% perfect but better than the rest. Being able to show both guitar and piano chord diagrams was a big attraction. It takes a short while to realise that you have to add your own songs via text or ChordPro formatted files but that turns out to be a plus. A very large number of chord sites have files that are just wrong. You can find a reasonable version somewhere, copy and paste into Songbook and then edit the errors in the app.

Super. Facile à utiliser et à comprendre!!!

We Love This App!!!!. This is by far the easiest to use music app. My wife and share the music files via Dropbox which makes it very convenient. Editing is easy and finding songs with the search is simple. We use this with Riffstation to get the timing and chord placement right when learning a new song. A great App!

Song Book. I have Ben using Song Book for year to play by myself and also in jams. Love it. Not certain I have the latest version. But still works for me

I use this app almost every day!. I use ChordPro for overhauling my existing song library and for adding new stuff really quickly. The phone app is actually better than the Windows desktop version. I use a bluetooth keyboard with the phone for editing the songs. One problem I have is that the display will not expand over the screen space where the regular keyboard was. The result is that I am working with only half of the available screen space when I use the external keyboard. Overall I enjoy using this app.

How to fixe sharing app thât has been stopped without loosing data. À friend share The app and than stopped share it. To be able to keep all thé songs, To uninstall without erasing data, had to do it from general settings-IPad storage-SongBook where you can remove app without erasing data. But after, I couldn’t buy app as it was only available to download, so I bought it as a present that I sent to myself by email. Then I have been able to install. All thé data was there after 😀sorry for m’y english!

Useful app for musicians. This app is user friendly and a very good tool for any musician. There’s just one thing that I wish I could do with it, it’s to be able to annotate the songs. Sy Lem

Very Cool!. Great app, makes loading lyrics on the go so easy. Love it!

So Good!. Thank you for this amazing app! I finally got rid of my giant binder full of worship songs! Everything works perfectly with this app. Easy to import files from dropbox and back up all my songs there as well. I have it synced to ipad and iphone and everything works as needed. Once again, so good!

A Good Choice, But. This App does what you need it to do: display lyrics while you perform, and enable multiple users to add or edit lyrics for everyone in the group. Having now spent many, many hours putting our band's lyrics into this App, and having used it in a gig, you will find that this is a very powerful and enabling App. Definitely buy it. But let's remember, as a user group, that we can help to make it even better. Any software drives culture - the way we approach life and challenges; I have found that the lyrics from Chordie and other sites often differ from each other, or the way you've always sung it, and the guy who has the iPad now might think he controls the lyrics, and others may not be comfortable with that. So, my advice is to make this a collaborative venture, for sure, not just within your band, but together as a Songbook group. Does the Songbook site have a users forum? That would be helpful. Be careful with Dropbox, you can lose everything if you synch when the file has been emptied. The are no warning windows in the Songbook App, and one would be helpful to prevent disabling disasters, for example "synching now will cause the loss of material - go ahead?" Overall, a great App, one I'll be using for years to come.

Great app. Works very well the Dropbox sync allows our band to share songs even we aren't together great job

Simple yet powerful. I’ve been using this for years in my coverband and it’s never let me down. Editing and uploading songs is easy and intuitive. I’ve recently integrated midi controls to automatically change guitar and vocal processing patches as well as page turning with Line6 and Boss products with no issues. AND it’s a one time payment no sub. I’ve looked at others to up my game but this does exactly what I want and need.

Bonne application. J'aime bien. Très facile a utiliser. Mais peut-on changer la police dans une même chanson. Exemple {textfont: helvetica} {textfont: courrier}

SOG directives. I think I like the automatic set up 4.9.1 provides for the SOG tag, but I would like it even more if the various component bits would appear in the little selection bar above the keyboard much like the chords appear. Example: |: Would also like to see end bar |. correctly implemented.

Nice. This app is the only app I use for writing editing and playing music, it has everything you need for the most part and functionality between devices is very good and I’m sure it will get better with ongoing updates very happy with this app

Excellent support. Emails returned with solutions within 24 hours. Apps works flawlesly. I dropped other app that I hab been using for 10 years. Very happy with app. Many une pected features.

Not bad. The app is good but tech support doesn't seem to know much about it.

Best Song Book I've Found. I'm a working musician and I've tried a couple of different apps for sheet music before; This one blows them all away. It completely eliminates the need for clunks binders and the scroll and transpose features are perfect! Gigging made simple!

Highly recommend. Been using this app for about a year. Love love love the convenience, intuitive interface, and features. Quick chord reference bottom screen for each song. Transposing is a snap. Experimented with the song sharing feature - broadcast the lyrics from my iPad to another iPad, 2 touches and a 3 iPhones for a campfire singalong. Dropbox sync but stores locally for offline playing. As if that wasn't enough, you can see the music in the dark and the sheets don't blow away in the wind!

The best app on the App Store. Congrats, This is a killer app for musicians. The updates just keep coming - Awesome

Thank You for this amazing App. I have come to rely on this Application to provide me with many aspects of my performance. Access to my song lyrics which are linked to my backing tracks is only the tip of the ice burg. The ability to create “play lists” for each venue, make performance notes in my song files and change the key to any song to match my vocal range translates into value for my money. Thank you to the developer for an application that is spot on.

Works great!. Perfect for get togethers and practice.

Song book. One word "Awesome"

Songbook Chordpro - disappointing. I had high hopes for this app and picked it over OnSong mainly due to the on screen chord bar, user entered chord patterns and a couple other interface issues I thought might be an advantage. Unfortunately, this app was such a letdown on the way it handles imports of tab files I went back and bought OnSong less than 2 hours later. The problem is that I have a substantial library of tab song sheets (chords above lyrics)not the Chordpro format (chords in [G] format inserted within the lyrics). Songbook will open them but it screws up the chord placement dramatically so that the chords are way off where they should be above the lyrics below. Furthermore, it doesn't recognize the chords as chords, just lyrics so no chord features like diagrams, formatting or transposing are available. OnSong on the other hand imports my files almost perfectly and recognizes the cords in the proper location. OnSong doesn't have a couple of the features in SongBook like swipe to next song, the chord bar at bottom of screen but if it comes to pretty much redoing 400 odd songs I'll give up a couple little features that I can probably live without vs a better import function. Autoscroll works well I both apps as does metronome, play along, cataloging etc etc. in e end I would have been happy with this app if its import function was anywhere as good as its competition when it comes to regular song tabs. You can find free converter programs online like 'Songsheet Generator' and it does a pretty decent job of converting tab to chordpro, not perfect but decent. This beggs the question, if Songsheet Generator can do this why can't Songbook? Impliment this feature and this app would be #1 IMO.

Problem last update. Since last update the family sharing is not working and the application is not starting saying that application is not share anymore, even that we only have one ipad using it. Now we don’t have access to more tha a year work (more than 1600 songs).Could you please fix this asap.

SongBook ChordPro. Wonderful app... Would recommend without hesitation, and I rarely comment on apps... Easy to use, well set up and highly functional.

Love it!. I'm having so much fun with this app, it feels like it should be illegal! Also bought the desktop version to make editing easier (difficult on my iPad). Sync them up and I'm good to go! I highly recommend this!

Goodbye to paper books. As a member of a Ukulele group I brought my iPad and used Songbook. Now there are 6 more iPad users which have added Songbook to their iPads and are using them. Songbook is very easy to use. 6 stars I am using this app for all my chords and lyrics. I access the same files on Dropbox using the iPhone , iPad and the pc version. Easy to input songs. And to update and or import songs.

BEST FOR LIVE PERFORMANCES.. Over the years I have used a number of apps for my charts and backing tracks. For the past couple of years I’ve been using Songbook Chordpro. Without a doubt, for me it’s the best of the bunch. I use it on an iPad Mini or my iPhone, controlling the app with an AirTurn footswitch over Bluetooth. I highly recommend.

SomgBook is great. This is an awesome app for guitarists / singers. Well worth the cost. Like having a big binder of music with you at all times. 2 friends have it and we can share songs and play together 1000 miles apart

Best app. Absolutely best app I have downloaded It makes playing live a little more professional no more music book and ability to change the key to suit is brilliant a well thought out app.. Thanks

Disappointing & not inviting to add songs. Wish could get money back - Songsterr is by far a much better product with huge library of music that you can easily add to favs with chord&player view!

Great app. Our band has been using this for a while and are pleased with it. We have the iPads linked so when someone puts a song into it, we all receive it. We have used the app for several gigs now and it is great when you have a page turner pedal. It's easy to work and the iPads were great as night rolled in on an outdoor concert we did. The backlight made it easy to read. Worth the money!

Chord Editing is Glitchy. I really like this program except the chord creating and editing is almost unusable. When you try to edit nod select a chord it displays the wrong chord. Same thing if you try to delete a chord. A real time waster when trying to do such editing. I hope they will fix this.

Really good user experience.. ... and easy to share files with entire family, so all are on the ‘same page’ :-)

Every Guitar player showed have this app.. I have had this app for years, and its been great! Easy to use, Dose what its supposed to do and does it well! Recently I have had issues with it; missing playlists and songs- yet when I looked into it I discovered that it was not this app but the place I had been storing the files. When I contacted the songbook support people I received a prompt email back (on News Years Eve no less); the email confirmed what I thought was happening and I was able to correct all my issues. If I could give this app 6 stars I would. One note of caution: if you use Dropbox with it BACKUP you files and playlists… Dropbox has been doing odd things lately. Cheers DK

Very Comprehensive. Absolutely stunning execution, stable and feature-rich! I've been looking for something like this for ages!

Best of breed. Fantastic app... Best of it’s sort I've found. I love the dropbox sync. I'm using it with a Bluetooth controller and have replaced a large binder and a music stand with my iPad mounted on my mic stand. I've been using SongBook for all my solo and band gigging for a couple years now. It is an indispensable app for me. I use it on my iPad and my Mac Desktop. Most fellow performers I have shown it to are also now using it. The Drop Box integration is great for collaboration with other musicians, as is the ability to control multiple devices with one Bluetooth foot pedal. Every version by this very active developer brings even further features and refinements. One of the best software investments I've made.

SongBook Chordpro. No matter what I do, I can't seem to delete the "recently changed" playlist or anything in it. I can clear it out, but the songs come back again and it won't delete. anyone have any ideas?

Excellent a+++. Wonderful app. The programmers did a wonderful job implementing the functions in an extremely useful and intuitive manner. I love it and have been using it every day. On a side note, I also bought the pc version previously but lost the registration key for it, been trying to contact the company for a new key, so far unsuccessful

Great App. This is an update to my Dec 10 review. Contacted the developer through the help, not so easy to find. Got a response the next day. Turned off PDF search and everything worked fine. Also got a response from Apple about a month later. Used to carry around several thick binders of music, now only carry an iPad. I’m also leading a zoom Ukulele group and encourage everyone to switch to Songbook Chordpro instead of printing out PDFs. So many neat features in this app. Can’t praise it enough.

Play Together Still Diappointing. Most things are good. The Play together either does not work or drops connection after a short while. Disappointing aspect of the ap.

10 years and still my favourite app. Been using this for 10 years now and I love it. I also use the desktop version for editing. The syncing between songbook and Dropbox is seamless and super easy. Sharing Dropbox and songbook tunes with bandmates is also very easy. I have a few other tablet song programs because different bands have different ways of working. This one is the easiest to use maintain and share. I keep coming back.

SongBook. Efficace et très utile pour regrouper notre musique! On peut lire notre musique sur notre tablette et en même temps écouter l’enregistrement musical dans un autre fichier. J’aime bien.

Great tool for Organizing Songs. Simple, well laid out interface. Recommended.

Do not use this application if you are using Pages on your iPad!. There is a conflict as it will grab documents from your e-mail and it does not let you choose Pages. As well, inserting chord names into song lyrics manually is very difficult; the brackets that you have to select to do so are very small and really hard to use on a touch screen. Overall, a waste of money. This my last use of the application before I delete it!

Good!. Great app for keeping charts and playing live sets. The PC supportive software is overpriced, and should come as a package deal.

Great app, great features. Super service! Reported a problem on Friday with this not working on iOS 7 and it was fixed and on the App Store by Monday! Still love this app! This is a great app for anyone that plays an instrument and can work with "lead sheets" (chords and lyrics) or just Lyrics. They keep adding features and respond to user feedback quickly. Great value! I use it for gigs with their Playlist feature, and for working on songs. No more binders with pages falling out and it is all indexed! Syncs with Dropbox and there is a PC app if you like to use a mouse and full keyboard. It is easy to share songs with friends or print out Lyric sheets etc. Check the features

Just what I've been looking for. Awesome for playing live with my tabs collection.. Great app

Great music tool. After fooling around with a frustrating paper based sheet music system I am so delighted to have found this wonderful tool. It is truly a time saver and a delight to use. I find that my guitar practice time is put to much better use. Features like the transposition tool is awesome and let's me change a song's key instantly, WOW! Love it. I have also integrated a bluetooth page turn pedal system to take advantage of another great feature in this app. Makes following long scores much simpler than before. The massive and easy to use chord chart is also really useful and quickly let's me integrate new voicing to my music. The integrated sheet editor works great when I need to make changes or even write my own songs. There are many other great features to this app, which simply make guitar practice and live playing so much more pleasant. Great job and I look forward to future enhancements. I use a first generation IPad and everything works great. Please do not change the software in a way that would force me to upgrade to a new IPad. This happens too often with many software developers and ruin cost effective solutions. A real fan, John H. Kennedy

Swing and a miss. The latest update says it has "improved synchronization". All synchronization on all four of my devices has ceased completely and I have no recourse to fix it. It's not a Dropbox issue, the little rotating ball on the top left of the "Categories" page is gone on all devices. The Help" shows a manual synchronization button but that's gone too. Please help. I loved this app up until this problem erupted.

Very Good. Excellent program, why did the search function disappear with the latest update? edit: found it, now above the alphabet on the right, all good, great app, esp the ability to edit, some folks hear some freaky chords edit: the app crashes when deleting a song, it still deletes but needs to be restarted

The simplest, most flexible chord keeper. I've tried most of the apps in this category, and SongBook is the one I chose to convert my catalog to. Here are my reasons: 1. It syncs with Dropbox (the killer feature, really) 2. It uses text files in a folder, and doesn't try making a separate database for the songs. Your mileage may vary, but that's what I wanted. 3. It has a Mac, iPad, and iPhone app-- all of which also sync with Dropbox, so I am never without my sheets 4. It uses standard ChordPro markup, so other people can participate even if they don't own SongBook 5. It auto-zooms when displaying a song. 6. It can display a song in multiple columns so I don't have to scroll while playing. (Though it can auto-scroll if you like that. 5. It exports to multiple formats-- though it cannot yet output a PDF in multiple columns, which is the primary missing feature for me. All in all, a great song chord sheet collecting and editing tool. Simple, not many bells and whistles, but all the right ones.

Songbook. This app is a must for any musician. Have all your tunes with you everywhere you go. No more turning pages, or sheets flying in the wind, or being able just to see your lyrics in dimly lit areas. Great for parking lot jams. Love the simplicity. Simply pull up your tune and the auto sizer optimizes lyrics so you don't have to worry about scroll settings, and for the working musician, create set lists for your next engagement and simply swipe through your tune list. I currently have 794 tunes in my Songbook I can bring up at a moments notice. Best music app I have.

Awesome except:. Love this app. It really helps with having no memory for lyrics. The scrolling is smooth and intuitive. That is about the only thing intuitive about this app. Without the help website, it would be very difficult to understand for most people. Also, I'm sure it's just a formatting thing from Internet files, but reading ANY kind of straight up tab is frustrating.

FANTASTIC. This app is just what I've been looking for. I am a live single acoustic act and this app ROCKS!!! I would be lost without it. I have over 100+ songs in my portfolio and I used to have a playbook that was 10 pounds. No more with that mess! I can read much better as well under the stage lights. I could go on and on about how great this app is. Kudos to the developers. If this app was 100$ I was buy it without question. Wow! Just love it!!!!!

Dream Come True. I have always wanted a way to keep all my songs in a compact, easy to use songbook that was also easy to read while playing live and now with this app along with the iklip it's perfect! Once all your songs are loaded they are quick and easy to access on the fly. Set lists make it very smooth to transition between songs with a flip of the page. Wind and poor lighting are no longer a problem. I like that you can quickly edit each song as you need and that you don't have to display chords if you don't want to. Add to that the scrolling feature for long songs and a metronome and you have a perfect app.

Songbook. This one of the best apps I have...I find the functionality all great (I particularly like the synch to Dropbox and the creating of a new song from clipboard). The conversion of "chord above word" to chordpro format works very well. I also find having the chord available for sneak peak handy, and find the transposing convenient. The ability of link to songs is neat too. I'd highly recommend Songbook; it is really useful.

This is the last songbook app you will want. I've tried so many song book apps. This one is by far the easiest to use and the most consistent songbook program I have used. You can map the text files to any directory on your hard drive, you can edit them, add to them and not have to worry about the long precise naming used in other programs. The support team with this program was incredibly helpful and quick to answer any questions I had. You can edit with the CHORDPRO format then print out any SETLIST or song book in a nice, easily read, format, with chords above the lyrics, line by line. Save yourself weeks of aggravation trying to get the other programs to work, praying the formatting stays consistent or worse that your songs suddenly DISSAPPEAR because of a renaming mistype or secret file becoming corrupt. This program takes any song, in any directory (though songs must be in the same directory), any way you want to name them and your songs are always there where you put them.

The best instrument/songbook app available!. This app has everything! - switch between instruments automatically changes the chord diagrams. I can use it for guitar and ukulele! - change the scale of the song with the touch of a button. Enables you to adapt to the range of your friends' singing voices. - scrolling works great! - import songs from chordie works very well! - easy to edit songs - doesn't crash! - link to Dropbox, share the folder with your friends. Allow friends to link their iOS device! - did I mention that you can switch instruments? Sooo cool! I am very demanding when it comes to apps and this one exceeds expectations.

Finally replaced my Songbook. Finally I've been able to replace my 3 ring binder with an app to keep my song sheets. After 20 years of paper only this app is a great replacement. I now have my library on 2 iPads, my iPhone and my MacBook Pro. I keep all synced via Dropbox, which also means I can easily share tabs with other musicians.

Mostly Awesome!. This is overall a fantastic app. It does what it says and does it well. It's versatile with plenty of customization. Dropbox sync is great, and the built in browser makes it easy to pull chords/tab/lyrics off the net. My only qualms are minor bugs. Sometimes when editing a song, the screen jumps to the top while you're trying to type. This is annoying, but doesn't hurt functionality. When you first go to edit a song, sometimes you can't scroll down. This is fixed by tapping the "add chord pro command" or whatever it's called. Again, merely annoying and thankfully you can work around it. Once they fix these small bugs, I'll rate 5 stars!

Great App for a Great Format. I have been using Songbook for several years to keep a bunch of songs at my fingertips. I used it on a music tour, putting all the songs we might play in one Songbook 'song' that allowed me to react to whatever song the leaders called for on a given night quickly. I also find it a great asset to share songs with my students. And suddenly, it has PDF support, so this adds access to my library of music in PDF format so essentially all my music is viewed in one app. I keep the files in Dropbox, and use the Mac application to do most of the editing. Highly recommended.

Wonderful App. After using for a while I remain a fan of this app! Now that I can mount my iPad on a mic stand the only thing missing is a foot switch interface. I recommend a 2 or 3 button switch for the following functions: 1 - start / stop the page scrolling 2 - when in a song advance to next song in the play list, if in playlist back to previous list 3 - go to playlist if viewing a song, if in playlist advance to next playlist Excellent app that lets me search & load quickly and easily edit as needed. Changing Keys is a snap, and for multiple pages the ability to scroll the app and desired speed lets me use the app as a legitimate playoff. It's taking me a while to load all 400 I need to replace my hardcopy books, but when done I can forget the paper completely! This app to me is as valuable as any of my studio or road equipment.

Very good. Great app. I really do love this app. It's not perfect but I still do love it. Song book reads text files containing songs in the chord pro format. For those who may not know, the cord pro format is a way to insert cords into lyrics and have a program display them above the lyrics. Just like a lead sheet. They also have apps for PC and Mac if I am not mistaken. Using the dropbox integration is a no-brainer. One can access the files from multiple devices. One can share their folder within drop box that contains their court profiles, with their friends and maintain a synchronized set of files. Editing files within the iPhone app, is OK for a quick touchup, but I wouldn't want to do anything major in there. I use the computer application for that. You can search for particular songs using the app and import them from popular websites. Very handy.

Great value. I love the app and it's functionality. It eliminated my song book and makes learning new songs much easier. If improvement could be made it would be in the scrolling area. Even though I save the {iPad:tempo} at the correct speed in the edit format it forgets to scroll at the correct speed during my live shows and causes disruption. ie: stopping to slow down or catch up the scroll. If that got worked out it would get more than 5 stars. Fantastic app indeed.

Songbook Rocks!. Great app. Love the edit interface. Migrated from on song to songbook and am very happy with it. Performance is great, not quirky at all. Suggestions to make it better, add a sticky note feature and auto search specified tab sites as an option instead of just the open Internet search. Make search more specific and build more direct tab import. Small suggestions, not problems. Love the app it's consistent and fast. Songs thru dropbox is great, allows easy access across device types. Keep up the good work. Updated review to add the fifth star, improvements just keep coming! Can't live without this app! tb

Highly recommend for practice & playing out. My favorite feature is the scrolling. If you need larger words or chords on the screen, like I do, this is a wonderful feature. There are adequate settings throughout the app. You can increase the size of anything on the screen, start the scroll and off you go. I play out ocassionally and it is perfect for my needs. The only complaint is having to place the Title & Sub-titles between brackets {Here} rather than just typing them in. Some times it is difficult to position the cursor on the iPad. But this does not stop me from suggesting the use of this app to anyone with a need like mine. Install and enjoy!

Perfect. I was beta tester for a while. The programmer included all my suggestions (and lots more). By now there simply is nothing missing anymore. Except maybe a decent counterpart for my Mac. Update: I just checked my old review and have to say that the program got even better. They managed to find and add even more useful features that I hadn't even thought of. I'd give 6 stars if I could.

Missing key elements..... Ok so I think this could be a GREAT app but for me it is useless without the following options... No option to have Independant text sizes. Example: I like the chorus text to be larger than the rest and that is not possible yet with this app. Also, you can't change the text size based on the song. It changes the text size for all songs in a list. This seems like an easy thing to fix and logical because every song is different. Some have a ton of words and some a few but with this app you have to make it work for the song with more words which leaves the song with less words microscopic on the screen. These may not matter to some but as a worship leader I need these capabilities before I can use this app which is sad because I really want to use this app! I'll give 5 stars when these features are add because that's the only way I can use it with my team.

Fantasic! Just one useful suggestion... I used this for the first time last night at a gig and it was fantasic. However, I have another gig tomorrow and it would be really cool if you could add a function where the time for each song is entered by the user and then added up in the playlist view. That way we will know how long each set is. Keep up the good work.

Great tool for learning. This has been great for getting songs into a small package. Especially helpful is the ability to change keys. It helps me practice at the drop of the hat. I've been able to add many favorite songs. I also appreciate that it changes the chord shapes from one instrument to another because I've been considering trying guitar as well. I'm sure I would not have improved as quickly without SongBook to keep my interest up with new tunes to practice.

I had Songbook on my PDA too. Songbook was one of the 1st programs I downloaded onto my iPaq 211 so when I finally got my iPhone 4s two months ago, I immediately went looking to see if it was available as an app. I love this app, always have. Nothing like having all my songs at my fingertips when at a jam. Like many, I had too much fun in my youth and as a side effect don't have as great a memory as I'd like, so having songs with lyrics and chords being able to scroll, teleprompter style up my iPhone screen is invaluable. If you don't have this app yet and are a musician, I highly recommend you purchase it. The best money I've ever spent on an app!

Handy app, but needs something.... I am an amateur ukulele player and have been looking for a handy iPad app for my lyrics & chord sheets. This has many of those needs covered, especially the ease of importing and editing chord pro or text files! Very simple to convert, edit, fix, etc. The one real problem I have is that the are no options to control the hard copy output. I can send the file to the printer but it is either too small to read or cut off at the margins. If there was a "print preview" option or a text editor (or option to output to another app) that would make this much more useful to print song sheets. As it stands I end up saving here and exporting into a text editor to print sheets for the groups I jam with.

Love it. I am using this app to organize songs we frequently use for specials, etc. in our worship services. It is proving to be an invaluable tool for us. Thanks for all the hard work. I tried another app for the same thing (onsong) but it kept proving to be unstable and I was not comfortable depending on it. Songbook Chordpro is easier to enter chord changes also, as well as changing keys if it is needed. One thing, I did purchase the desktop version thinking I could just enter chords easier from my laptop and they would migrate over to the iPad. It does NOT do this. It was a waste of money because I could have just used my Word Perfect to do any fast typing. Other than that, I can't wait for updates to see what cool things you will do with Songbook Chordpro

ALMOST perfect. This app has everything I need from a songbook. The only problem is with the table tap (accelerometer) page turning. It's much too sensitive. There needs to be an adjustment setting for sensitivity level as well as delay between taps, otherwise a slight/accidental tap ends up turning the page several times at once. Also, when using table tap to advance the page, a tap at the last page should take you back to the top, otherwise there's no way to go back if you need to.

I like it, I use it EVERY DAY (no lie). It. It's not perfect, so I'll withhold a star for now, but it's still awesome. It's been a huge help with managing all of the song sheets I need to reference for various gigs. I'd like to see the interface for editing song lists and categories because it's just not as slick as everything else in this app. You can drag songs into the app through iTunes and you can drag them OUT to your computer as well. It's MUCH easier to find songs & import them using the iPad, however. ChordPro files are helpful, but they have their limitations--if you use the handy "search-the-net-and-import" functionality (which is INCREDIBLY slick and awesome) you need to CAREFULLY review the document you find. Shared ChordPro documents are full of errors. But this isn't a problem with the software. I've organized all of my band's covers and put them in this software and I now use my iPad at almost every jam session and gig. Now, if someone calls out something I don't know yet I can find it in on my iPad and I'm all set. This (and the RealBook app) are MUST HAVES for any musician with an iPad!!!

What I had been waiting for!. Absolutely the best!! It works perfect for me. I used to loose all my lyric sheets with chords and had to take copies all the time. Now I don't have to carry 2 huge folders, just carry my iPad n use it for soooo much other things! It takes very little to know how it works. I just explored it for a couple of days and its super easy to use. Love love love this app!!!

Great Ap and always getting better!. This is a killer application. Great way to store your music and share your chord sheets (chordpro or text files) with multiple devices and band members. This will be the industry standard on mobile music delivery of chordpro format. Sometimes the sync with Dropbox is a little hokey but I'm guessing it's just as likely an issue with dropbox. Keep up the good work! Would love to see a few more XML tags like column breaks, underline and border widths.

The perfect way to organize songs and sets. I love, love, love this app. When playing in public I need chords and lyrics displayed large enough to see them at a distance. Done. I don't want to have to turn pages. No problem with this app--it scrolls. I sometimes need a metronome to keep on time. Got it here. I don't want to have to jump back and forth to find the next song on our set list. The next song is a sweep of the screen away in the set mode. Want one person to control several iPads? Easy with this app. Worth much more than the cost of the app. Click Buy Now. Take a few minutes to learn how to put your songs in chordpro format, Enjoy.

What. I don't understand the "one-star" reviewers. It is simple to input your own songs using iTunes. Just choose this App in the list of apps on your phone or iPad, and a small window appears next to it. Just drag .txt files into the window. As for the person that complained about the lack of instructions, just Google on Chord Pro, and you'll find sites that explain the format. I love this App. It is everything I hoped it would be. My only small complaints are that when you start the metronome, the first couple of beats are very irregular (iPad 2). Also, I have many sources of the original lyric texts, and in some of them, a parenthesis is used that causes SongBook to put in strange alien characters. It is a pain to have to go edit these out, when some songs may have dozens of occurrences.

Saved my Band!. Half our time was spent dealing with sheet music. Then this app came along and we have switched to using this app on iPad + Dropbox + iKlip. We are always up to date on our song inventory. Easy to add new tunes. Less time organizing, more time playing. Look forward to next round of updates!!

Wonderful app, but make sure you SAVE. As a performing musician and a music therapist, this app is awesome for storing all of my music. I love that I can share charts with my bandmates by linking Dropbox and that I can search for chord sheets and tabs directly through the app. My ONLY complaint is that the app occasionally crashes when I am editing songs and it loses all of my work, which can be extremely frustrating.

Little Glitch. I love this app as I've used it for gigs, parties, you name it. I have over 500 songs and growing. Also with Dropbox it syncs seamlessly to other devices. But for one hitch, there's an inch high horizontal blank space on the bottom of the entire screen that serves no purpose. On a iPad mini it's a waste of screen space and makes usability difficult. Please correct that. Once done, I'll give five stars.

Solid, but not infallible. It does a great job of what it is supposed to do - replacing the 3 ring binder. The issue (and it's no fault of the app's) is converting non-chord pro songs. It works, but it's manual and takes some time. The other issue is, of course, is garbage in, garbage out. Most songs will require at least some editing. Like a lot of things, a little effort goes a long way towards making this a key part of your set up.

Take your song library everywhere you go. I have a somewhat large library of songs that are in chordpro format. This app handles them quite nicely and lets me carry it everywhere. I use it every week at church and wouldn't want to be without it. Each week the keys of the songs change and songbook makes this easy. This is the best app for chordpro songs.

Greatest songbook app EVER!. It is really cool to have all your songs at the tip of your fingers. I love it. I arrange all my band's songs by set with the play lists, and with the flick of a finger you turn the page to the next song in the set. The rest of my band fumbles with paper, and dog eared song books. I just clip my iPad to my drum rack and sing along. For practicing it also great. You can link your iPod songs to your songbook, and with a tap of you finger, your iPad plays the song for you to play along with it. Oh, and it also scrolls the lyrics that are longer than one screenful. This app is super totally awesome!

Fabulous, and syncs beautifully!. Fabulous app! I'm using it to build a library of phone-accessible music, including the pieces I've written. Create a folder in Dropbox called SongBook, add songs, and just hit the refresh button to see them (or the changes you make on your computer) in the app. I've only used a handful of the features, but I tried Perfect Guitar Songbook, and this is *much* better. Spend the extra money on this one.

Why they changed how to select on edit?. The only thing that really buggs me after the past and recent update is that when I edit a song, I used to grab the whole line or sentence or even a paragraph with two fingers like one in the begining and the other finger at the end at the same time and it would mark it so I could right away choose cut, copy, etc. Now is just like any copy/paste selection on iOS that I have to push to bring the cursor and the select/select all/paste buttons and then select and then move the curson marking all the words I want to edit (like copy a whole chorus to paste below) and then to choose what to do. Why whyyyyyy??? before it was just much faster and easier to select all the words I wanted at once, I used that a lot and saved me bunch of time now it just buggs me, please bring that feature back!

Amazing!. Very versatile. I play guitar. This is great for organizing tabs/chord sheets. You can transpose easily, edit notes, add your own voicings, and it has a play button so you don't have to pause when jamming out your tunes. It's great for archiving and sharing your music with others. I rarely rate apps, but this one has really impressed me.

It has gone crazy. Since the last update the Chordie website has gone crazy. Chordie will not work. My songs are still there but it won't let me import new songs and flip flops me all around the website. I tried to log in to the forum and it said password incorrect. So, I put in a new one, got in, went out, back in and it says password incorrect. Chordie needs to fix their site so I can use the app for new songs.

Great app. Just got Songbook (on my iPad mini) and I love it. Easy to learn. I was quickly converting my Word format songs to Chordpro format (editing the files on my laptop), uploading to Dropbox and syncing with my iPad. This is far better than just displaying PDF files. Especially like ability to change font size on the fly and to change song key with a few taps.

Love This App!. This app is great. Very easy to use. The only problem is I can't edit the file. When I open the song, hit edit and tab the screen, the keyboard comes up and the words goes up where I can't see them. It not a big deal since I would rather edit them outside the app, but it would be nice to have that option.

One of two best songbook apps. The two best songbook apps I have found for the ipad (and I have tried many) are Songbook Chordpro (SC) and OnSong. They both seem to have developers who are really working hard to improve their app and who have good support websites. They both have good options for making set lists and changing fonts and colors and all that other stuff. They both can scroll the screen. OnSong allows one to use a footpedal to advance the screen - I am not sure about SC. What I really like about SC is the way it fixes the text to the appropriate size on your screen when you zoom in or out. On OnSong, if you zoom in, some of your music can be off of the screen - SC automatically readjusts the screen so nothing ever is off the left or right side of the screen. OnSOng haas a better search tool for finding songs and it has the ability to store PDf's and word files - a huge advantage. At this point, I think Onsong is the best of the songbook apps - but I will keep using both programs and will keep a close eye on how they both improve.

SONGBOOK vs ONSONG review #1. NOTE: I've been using Songbook more than Onsong, so this review will obviously favor Songbook. Better looking fonts than Onsong. Looking lyrics overall. User friendlier than onsong, Although once you get the hang of it Onsong has more features. The sticky note on Onsong great. Please add to Songbook. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE add the feature to Songbook where you can paste WORD documents (all my lyrics are in this format!!). This feature IS AVAILABLE in Onsong. Sometimes after editing a song you can;t see it...you get a blank screen!! Ipad need to be restarted! This app is ALMOST ready for live gigs.

Fantastic app. I absolutely love this app if it's possible to love an electronic collection of cyber terrific song space! It does every thing but mix and roll; a cool app that is so easy to learn and use, with all kinds of features some of which I'm fearful to try in that they are so powerful....like syncing up with iTunes foe example. But it does pretty much just what I wanted it too and more.

Perfect for intermediate to advanced players. This app is perfect from stretching beyond your level of playing. It gives you access to songs you would not have had before yet more importantly it allows you to play those same songs with different chords. Easy access to the cord chart on the same screen as well as the ability to set up play list for different settings/gigs is an incredible tool all in the same app. Way to go programers. Here is a request for future upgrades; When I complete the song import and it become the known song in the song book it would be nice to see a list someplace of other songs that most closely match that style/chords/type/genre. You get the picture. Like when you purchase a book you get a list of people who purchase this book also purchase these items also. Thanks for your hard work. Proman127!

Love it!. This is a wonderful app, different from all others I have looked at. Think of a song, type it into the app and the find it immediately via chordie. Import the song and it is displayed in playable, scrolling (if wanted) format that's easily edited for your personal use. Lots of cool features. Makes it so easy to find the chords to song you want to play.

Almost perfect!. I love so much about this app, but i find that it crashes from time to time on my ipad 1 and my iphone 4s. Often at inconvenient times on stage. I'm also dying for a few new features... -An option to not have the file endings added automatically to the web searches. -it would be great If the import button showed up on lyrics sites as well as tab sites. I play a lot of songs that are very current and often not available As chord charts yet. I'd love to be able to quickly download the lyrics then add the chords myself. Also, It would be great if we could export song lists and playlists in a spreadsheet with titles and subtitles (artists) in separate columns so it's way to print into a request sheet. Other than that, great app!

Very Helpful. I love this application! Transport function great idea because my daughter sings on another key. The font doesn't make a difference in terms of spacing. Courier was my favorite because the equal spacing. Now I can use any font! Great app with iPad, ik multimedia holder for iPad. Thank you, open mic nites are great!!! The only complaint I have i to find an easier way to enter the songs. I wish there was a way to quickly select chords.

Great Application!. For our band it was important to be able to exchange songs within our remote group and with any platform in a non-proprietary format. I use this app now with five bands. I converted our bands list of songs into TXT files, and imported them to SongBook. From Songbook I could easily sync the files into a DropBox folder. Songbook simply places the raw files in Dropbox. We can have the TXT file in Songbook on iPad and that same TXT file shows up in the Songbook folder in DropBox. Nice thing about that is we can edit the songs from any location (iPad or PC) and the Songbook sync process updates to the latest version. There are no background conversions to proprietary formats. We wanted to be able to edit songs on iPad and have those same files available for to edit on PC. SongBook can do that. We tried several other apps and some convert imported songs to proprietary formats or databases making it hard to edit the files on different devices. We also wanted to preserve the portability of the songs down the road, SongBook can do that. Really nice.
