WQAD Storm Track 8 Weather App Reviews

Weather. 14 day out look stop working. Went to the wqad website and the design was a little different. Either way great app.

Disappointed in upgrade. Since the most recent upgrade I don’t use this app as much as I used to. Not as user-friendly/ appealing as before. First of all the use of red as main color is jarring… and since that is usually used as a warning or emergency color it is distracting. And for some reason the radar is also bothersome as opening screen. So much better when the first thing I saw was the daily snapshot for local weather…. Which is what most people want to see right away.

Updates stink. I like the previous Home Screen so much more than this update. Everything I needed was right there and I didn’t have to scroll to find anything. Can you at least switch the Home Screen back? Oh and all of the in your face advertisements are a ‘nice’ touch. 👎

Upgrade is garbage. The upgrade is bad……really bad. The only option on the map is future track. Before you could use past, past/future or future. Now it’s only future for some reason. Poor choice to upgrade/change the app News 8. Planning on deleting and loading a different weather app.

Worst update, changed the accuracy whole look. Can you please go back to the last version of this app? Even if you have to put the overly long ad on the front screen like you have it now. The accuracy and functionality was so much better before. Now it will be raining where I am and it won’t show on the map. Or there will be lightning images, with no rain, and it will actually be raining. Still not sure what the purpose is of the Home Screen and you have to click into the map in order to be able to use it. A Home Screen should have other information on it if it is there vs just being a landing pad and forcing the user to click again just to get to the map. I have bragged about this app to so many people, prior to the update, but am now searching for another weather app.

Forecasts. While the app functionality is marginal, the content is abysmal. It is exceedingly rare to see any semblance of accuracy in any forecast. Want to know the weather? Stick your head out the window. This app is ostensibly worthless.

Not working. Hard to review an app positively when it hasn’t worked all day.

Weather. This is the best weather app there is!

Very little info. Can’t update this app. No where on here to find any school closings. Or closings for anything!! At least the channel 6 app has all those things!!

Missing content. Used it all the time until the videos quit working in February.

Hello quad cities!. 

Good App. Does what it's supposed to do, give you local weather and updates. Wish it had a more detailed two day forcast though.

Family. Good accurate news and weather reports. Staff people that feel like our family and we can relate to.

Love this app. So much faster than the other weather apps I have been using! 

awesome. if you are a channle 8 fan you must get. its up to the minute info. get !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Works if you have a reliable wifi connection. It would be great if this didn't need a wifi connection to work. We have horrible internet service at home, especially when it rains, so the app hardly ever opens during a storm when it is most useful. Other than that, the app is great.

Love this app. I use this almost daily to watch video content in case I’ve missed weather on TV. Radar is very accurate.

Wqad doesn’t lack. As a contractor who relies on accurate weather reporting, the wqad app is a life saver.

Inconsistent. This app has been inconsistent lately about rain and etc. Map shows no rain but it’s raining.

Updates. Love that I can see the humidity and, well, everything else! Thanks for updating the app!! July 21st, 2013

Latest update. I hate the new update. It no longer tells the humidity, wind direction or sunrise/sunset. Have searched thru other pages on app and can't find the humidity info anywhere! I'm looking for a new app.

Update. The latest update is a bust. Doesn’t show rain when I can see it raining. Sometimes the radar doesn’t show anything. When you try to see radar over time it stalls.

Was great till ads took over. Ads rule everything around me, even weather

Weather app. Weather is accurate. It pinpoints the time when the storm or rain n will start. Great job

Eh. Would be good if after I put use my location it went to the right city and state

Best Storm Tracking App. Got this app when I lived in Monmouth. Now live in Peoria but it always goes off before Chuck Collins and was the only one going off during a tornado watch in Chillicothe, IL! I’m keeping it! Brett Stahl

Why. Why advertise an app that doesn't work. Shake feature, my location for map, and radar doesn't work. How about an update??

Works great!. Love how the radar is always up to date, compared to the Weather Channel app's 30-35 minute delayed radar :)

Great app. I’ve had this app for years now and it’s super reliable and can tell you everything, highly recommend this app!

Radar is glitchy. Since the update the radar is so glitchy that it’s basically unusable during storms - when you need it most. I don’t mind the rest of the update though. I like seeing the 14 day outlook and other weather maps.

Notifications are late. Most of the time I don't receive rain notifications until after it has already started raining or after its already done.

Wont open. It won't even let me in. it just says loading

Missing info. This is a very good app but recently videos and the blog content have been missing. Please correct if possible. I have deleted and reinstalled but didn’t correct the issue.

Will not up load to iPhone. This app will not up load to the latest iOS on iPhone. This app uploaded fine for iPad with the last test iOS. I would love to have this on my phone. The low rating is due to the up loading issue. FIX ASAP!

Love this app!. I love how I can see where the storms are heading in the past and future!!

Horrible app!!!!!. When critical weather is in our area and we get a notification and click on it it takes you to an ad. This is not good. This should be fixed ASAP!!!!

Weather app. This app is unbelievably incorrect for my area Not one time can I recall it ever being right , if it says no rain in the forecast you better count on it raining anyway and the only thing that seems to be close to correct sometimes is the temperature ! Wish I could get a job that depends on the computer to tell me what it thinks the weather will be instead of using common sense and personal knowledge
