Expect more!. We should all expect a lot more from electronic dictionaries. A dictionary for Greek should conjugate every verb in every tense and mood, and every noun and every adjective in every case. It should be possible to look up every word in every form in which it occurs. This one does not even give the genders or the plural forms of nouns. To get the gender you have to look up the English translation. There are no verb conjugations at all. So many common words cannot be looked up at all. The Collins German-English dictionary at least provides a complete conjugation table for every verb and the genders and plurals of nouns. So there's no excuse for not doing a little better with the Greek. An outrageous feature of this app is that it periodically pops up a window that asks you to give it five stars. You can close the window but you cannot decline.

Okay for intermediate and advanced Greek study. It's a good app if you already know how to pronounce Greek -- which is fairly straighforward only if you're past the basic level. The gender and parts of speech are indicated through Greek abbreviations, not through English ones. The real weakness is the underdeveloped flashcard system -- you can only learn in one direction, not choosing to learn by the word vs. definition side of the card, and the minigames are for the entire dictionary, not selected lists of words. You also can't randomize the flashcards. So fix the flashcard issues, and it's worth the price -- keep it as it is, and the app costs twice as much as it's worth.

Excellent dictionary!. There almost hasn’t been a word I couldn’t find in this dictionary. Can’t say that for others I’ve used. Glad I bought it!

Use it daily. I read Greek newspapers and use this dictionary to help with the words I don’t know. I like the word of the day to help build vocabulary as well. Occasionally I don’t find words I’m looking for and have to go to Google for them.

Great dictionary. Very good dictionary, very thorough. Only needs IPA phonetic entries for Greek to be complete. Meanwhile I use the Collins Mini Gem Audio Greek dictionary to listen to native Greek. Will rate 5 stars when dictionary has phonetic transcriptions. Hopefully they will also add verb conjugations.

FANTASTIC! ΘΑΥΜΑΣΙΟ!. I have used the Collins Gem Greek-English, English-Greek dictionary for years. It is the BEST small/pocket dictionary of it's type!! However, for this price, it should contain many more words and the ability to add words.

Asks you to rate app whenever you open it. Frustrating to use. Often the word of the day notification doesn’t match the actual app.

Why doesn’t it link with Kindle?. Why. Why can’t it link with my Kindle app or any other interactive dictionary searchers like for all the other languages. Just. Why? Awesome dictionary regardless, but I never use it, because word reference is just as easy on my computer- which I’m forced to use because I want two apps open side by side instead of switching screens every time I want to look up a word. Why? WHYYYYYYYYYY

Suggested improvements. Flash cards by custom topic, for instance body parts, food or I don’t know, nautical.

Good but.... This is a good dictionary. However, at 20 dollars a pop they really should have included an audio pronunciation guide with each word. My Greek is horrible and, like most students, need to match up with a native speaker. It REALLY needs an update. With audio this is easily a five star application.

Great. I've been using this app for a few years and have no complaints. It work great and has been very helpful in my studies.

What happened to the content?. The last version of this dictionary I updated to has three long definitions of “abstract”; this version has only a single word, though it does offer to speak it out loud for you. Most of the content seems to have been lost when the appearance was modernized.

Best available, serious flaws. This is a good dictionary, but the developers need to add some basic functionality to allow recognizing conjugated forms of verbs — lack of this basic feature makes it impossible to look up words in example sentences because it doesn’t recognize them since they are conjugated or declined. Hope they will add this. Still, very good content for medium-size Gk En Gk dict!

Excellent Dictionary. No dictionary is perfect but this is a very capable tool for anyone aspiring to learn Modern Greek.

Important feature doesn’t work. The flash card feature of the app doesn’t work properly!!! I can’t believe it this was such a practical feature and when I look up the definition of the word - it gives a different card!! I can’t believe the function doesn’t work. Why have it then?

Comment. It would be nice to have the words spoken. My German Collins dictionary has an audio so you can hear the words. It would be nice to have more specific words. I looked up sugars and found the Greek word for sugar but only one word for a specific type of sugar, namely glucose. Other common sugars like fructose and lactose were not included.

Adding missing words not possible. I'll start by saying that this is a solid dictionary and it serves well The Greek language which spans over 25 centuries of creativity, starting perhaps with Homer. I use this dictionary often in a Conversational Greek class, recommend it to students and have found it overall invaluable. However there is one glaring omission: It doesn't contain a way where one can add words that are missing. Maybe it's not in its scope, but since it serves a living language, this addition should probably be considered. An example of a missing word would be the word ανακούρκουδα which means squatting. Enrich this dictionary, by allowing the addition of words you might have missed that could be then incorporated after a review, in the next version of the dictionary. Thank you.

Now it is wonderful!. I couldn't figure out how to use the Greek dictionary. The advice below from a Collins rep did the trick. Please go to the Phone Settings>General>Keyboard>International Keyboard and set the Greek on ON. Then go back to the dictionary and press the Earth button next to the Space on the phone keyboard.

Good app. This is a pretty good app. I was really trying to find more translations for biblical words. I just feel it’s kind of difficult to figure out how to use. Maybe continuing to use the app I will figure it out.

Very poor in content and ease of use. I would not recommend this dictionary. There are numerous omissions of words and the functionality is sporadic. It needs serious improvement.

Needs audio. The app needs to add an audio element where you’re able to hear the new words you are learning and know how they sound. Very critical in learning a new language. Considering the app is so expensive I expected there to be an audio element to learning language.

Collins English Greek Dictionary. Very disappointed with it. It does not include many words like the simple wort 'travail'.

It would be more practical. Very useful if you are learning Greek. Though, it would be more practical if the app allowed the user to cut and paste into other apps like texting and translate.

Useful. This dictionary is useful and saves you lugging around several books and unlike Google Translate you know you are getting the right word for the right context. The games, favorites and flashcards are an added bonus. Negatives? For the $20 I don't think it would be much to ask for more example sentences for common words and audio for the Greek.

Should be better. Pretty good dictionary. Some weird ux problems. I should be able to type Greek or English and the appropriate word comes up. Unfortunately, the dictionary makes you switch look ups. Also, there are a bunch of steps to clear your word input after looking something up. Should be easier.
