Helps but.... Helps for Spanish but it does need work. We used this on a big girls trip because we went somewhere that we needed Spanish help. Oh and if you happen to be a girl reading this you have to get the Girl Trip app that's a MUST have!!! Made our last girls trip the best!

Translation? Idk. I wish they would translate into the source language example: I tried to put "how are you" in Japanese, with English as the source language, and it gave japanese letters, I wish it would put "hello" as "konichiwa" (excuse my spelling please) instead of "hello" as japanese letters which you can only read if you can read japanese.

Impossible. This worked fine first time but the second time I used it and inadvertently hit the "more" tab I could not get back to the home page. Now I'm stuck with a "Car & Driver" advert or a list of Piet Jonas's apps. The initial translation page has disappeared forever. Needs a lot of work. Free Translator isn't perfect but much better than this.

I think.... I haven't had it very long, but I think it works fine. I use it for German a alot and it's pretty accurate. It's gramatically correct and even uses the right definite articles.

Awesome. Im having lots of fun and learning my favorite phrases...in italian of course. But this app would be way better if it told you the prununciations as well. Please consider this person who made it because i do not know how to pronounce these words.

Not all that. The only thing better about this than the free on in google app is that it give you the option to connect your translation to an email or msg. Its kind of clunky though. Not as useful design as it could have been.

Great App. When someone SMS you in a different language is anoying but just copy and paste the SMS in this app and you can reply them knowing what they said.

Question. Hey there. Could you please add Pashto to this app? I'm on my way to Afghanistan with my unit and I am the soldier translator for my battery. I'm not 100% fluent yet and having Pashto on this app would help out a lot. May help me save some lives or at the very least help create and maintain some good relationships between the locals we meet and ourselves. The Arabic one on here is great so far as I can tell. Thank you for your time.

Other translators. Over all i feel my other translator is better but this one still works really good

Awesome for English 2 spanish. I stumbled on this great product. I type in a sentence and it gives it back in Spanish. great free product.

Only Latin alphabet???. This app does not allow users to type in cryillic characters (or any characters other than the Latin alphabet for that matter). Pretty useless in translating Russian to English... Really, you can only translate the romantic languages.

Pretty good for being free.. This is the only free translator I have found with Turkish language in it. So far, it's been pretty useful. I would give it five stars if it didn't need wi-fi in order to work.

I think it's good. I think it's good, but since there are so many reviews saying how it doesn't work and the translations are wrong? Can I trust it? I also think it would be cool if you could hear how to say the translations, then you could advertise this app as a way to learn lots of languages.

It is stupid!!!!!. It has a ton of languages that you would propably never need but it does not even have spanish!!! How dumb is that?!?! Maybe if they added some languages that us normal people actually used it would be a bit better. It also needs to be able to say the words or show their phonetic translation. I would not recommend this app.

Very useful!. It is a fantastic app! I don't know what I would do without it. Now I can astound my friends by talking in a different language using this translator. I give it 5 stars!

Good. It's pretty good. Easy to use for translate. And tells you what language it is if you don't know where it came from. This is also good for learning language!

Great app. This was a great app that is totally worth it. For whoever says that it leaves some words out, how would you know that if it was in a different language? This app deserves 5 stars especially because it is free. All it needs is someone speaking the sentance for you so you know how to pronounce it.

Nice ads!. The basic functionality of this app is okay, but the interface is cluttered with ads. I would be more than happy to PAY for a translator that isn't also a billboard.

It's ok. It helps translate into Spanish more than Spanish into English... Not to seem snoopie but my boyfriend texts his babe's mom in Mexico and I know all the phrases he says but not some of the words she does... And I guess if it doesn't know the word it leaves it as is in the conversation...lame!

Where is the translator?. Downloaded this twice, when I open it, it goes straight to some ad in German. Only thing you can do is push "more" and it opens that ad in safari. Can't find any way to close the ad and get to the translator.

Language Translator. Though it does actually translate well in content, if in another alphabet as in Greek or Hindi, you will not be able to phonetically say the words, as you cannot read them. I also wish that the letters, font were larger, easier to see instead of having so much room for other ads.

Not bad. It's a good app and I played with it for about five minutes (had to shower) but great app I recommnd it bit if it could be an app w/o the Internet it would he perfect (though of would be a huge file...)

Buy a WEBSTERS SPANISH DICT.. There are a lot of words, even really simple ones, that it doesn't translate correctly. So it doesn't help a person who is serious about getting a correct translation. For example, in Spanish, "unos" should translate to "some." but it doesn't. It translates to "most," which is almost the opposite. If you want a reliable source, buy a WEBSTER'S SPANISH NEW WORLD DICTIONARY. It's the only truly reliable source, as web translators generally don't work. I got one for around $15 at Target. Also, there needs to be different settings for American Spanish and "Spanish" Spanish (from spain) because the dialects are noticably different- which everyone that actually speaks Spanish knows.

Great app, very helpful. This app helps me a lot- both in school and in reading books/ watching movies. It doesn't always work well with negative sentences, but it's great considering that it's free. It doesn't crash my itouch, translates fast & accuratly- a good use of space!

Terrible. To complicated and it takes to long to switch languages

Pretty good. This app is good, but in the Arabic translations, it doesn't connect the letters, which are supposed to be connected. Other than that, this is a great app and I recommend it.

Great App. Great app it does exactly what it says it does. Works perfectly with Spanish and is very quick with a good interface. Only negative is the ads. But the app is free so great job!

App malfunction. When Starting up the app, it works Untill the first part with the image of the world of when it loads. Then it suddenly turns to a white screen, giving me the only option to press the "more" tab located in the bottom right hand side then . Once I click on the tab it redirects me to google.?????

Very helpful app!. Very accurate information and extremely helpful in today's economy with everything priced so high. One cannot afford to be without a tool like this!

Don't waste your time. The first thing you're greeted with when you launch the application is one GIANT ad. The description doesn't say anything about the application being ad-supported. Ad-supported applications are fine, but that should be disclosed in the description. Also, it shouldn't be as obtrusive and annoying as this one is. Stay away and download "Free Translator" instead.

Auto detect. I love it because it's the only translator app that I can find that has auto detect language!!!

okay. Good app. And for those using the Cyrillic alphabet, chinese, japanese, etc, you must change your keyboard settings (FYI... .Kly34), nothing to do with apps you download

Good. This is a useful app. I would say it is pretty reliable. There are many language options too. You should have this on your ipod no doubt

Needs copy+paste support. There doesn't seem to be a way to "do anything" with the translated text, it would be useful of you could at least copy it so that you could then paste the result elsewhere ( ie a text message or email, etc)

Too many ads. Looking for an easy translation software for the occasional need. This one did translate well, but it slowed down my phone and I was bombarded with 4 to 5 ads while it was loading screens. I understand free apps need support, but the ads on this one were ridiculous. I'll keep looking.

Like it but wish....... Wish ther was sound i want an ap that can translate languages and say them out loud or something so I know how ther pronounced

Genious!. I personally believe this should be like $6.00, because this is SO useful! I learned how to say the weirdest things in about twenty languges. :D Best app ever! I half expected this to work, because a lot of free apps don't work at all, but THIS my friend works like a charm! Bravo.

Amazing. This doesn't translate word for word, unlike most translaters it uses the correct foreign grammer!

Very useful but.... You need to add the romanization option so I know how to pronounce it!! I would like to know how to read it!! Other than that, it's an awesome app and I use it everyday.

Good, BUT... We checked various languges and the program does a decent job in translating them. However, it would be nice if the application were "free standing" and usable when Wi-Fi connection is not available. PLEASE provide such alternative app.

Excellent. For those of us needing quick translations this is a goldmine. Have asked the dev to allow the app to lock the Fchosen rom/To languages instead of starting afresh each time the app is opened. Then it's 5 stars.

Opinion on Language Translator. When choosing to translate from English to Italian the Italian grammar is all wrong, it translates words and phrases incorrectly.

Gay. This app is ok but could so with improvements eg screen to stop shaking when trying to type it works well but I would use itranslate so much faster and it has voice

Suits hubby. I am married to a spunky Slovenian woman and she is amazed how my communication has improved using this app! It's not perfect, but definately gets any message accross! Really impressive and really useful!

full of adds :-(. I like auto detect feature but it's very buggy n full of adds

Needs Improvement. Tried translating from english to Hungarian and it kept translating into portugese seemed glitchy to me I selected Hungarian 3-4 times over and it kept defaulting to portugese. An ok app but glad it was free.

Has great potential, but .... too many problems. Three things that need to be improved. First, when a phone call comes in and then I go back to what I was working on ... it was not saved and I had to start all over again. The same thing happened when I switched to my text messaging and then came back. Second, I would like to make a certain language choice permanent or automatic. And third, but this is just dreaming ... I would love to cut and paste my translation into a text message or e-mail. If the first two things change, I would rate it a 4. If the last one happened, I'd pay up to $10 and rate it a 5.

Frustrating.. This app works fairly well, as long as it can find an Internet connection, but it appears to have been hijacked because now all it does is bring up a German webpage!

chinese. I wanted to use it for saying words or short sentences in chinese, but I can't read chinese. Its too late anyway since I'm going there in a couple of days.

WWHHHAAAATTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. It didn't download! It stared it's download sequence, and when it finished, it's icon disappeared! It tapped all over and nothing happened! It even said it was downloaded, but it's not there!!! At least it didn't use up my memory, at least I don't think so! I'M Sooooo MAD!!!!

questions. does this app require wifi if so i need a translator app that doesnt need wifi. im using an ipod not iphone so i dont get wifi where ever i am if you have any apps thanks chris

WORST APP EVER!!! AVOID!!. Trying to translate something is a NIGHTMARE!!! It is full of ads that if you accidently bring up, will not go away. Look else where!!!! These screen shots are DECEPTIVE. No telling what personal info you will compromise with this horrible, horrible app

useless translator. it doesn't even translate sometimes. I type in the English and it doesn't show the translation. now I have to look for a different translator as this one does not do it.

Poor design. Every time you enter a translation, app pages down to ads so you have to page back up again to see the result. Not worth the bother!

Ads ruin the app. Translator is usually correct but it pages down to the Ads and with no 4.0 support it cumbersome to use with other apps

Don't believe the reviews.. I use this app to help me translate BASIC sentences from my BEGINNER Spanish course and it ALWAYS gives me jumbled up answers, leaves out nouns, verbs, etc. NOT ACCURATE! and I'm not basing this off of one inaccuracy, it's happened more than 10 times.

Badbadbad.. It never even comes close to the real translation. It leaves out words too.

Horrific ad placement. The giant ad taking up the entire screen turned me off immediately to this. You're better off looking elsewhere. Many of my apps are ad supported, but they're usable. This one is not.

Doesn't have Hawaiian language. I'm goin to Hawaii this November, and I'm usually a huge follower of google. Not as much anymore. I don't have my favorite enjine to rely in anymore. :(

Good app. Good app 5Stars by translating one by one words.. But 1Star by translating a sentence is wrong does not make sence.

Pretty good. Another reviewer mentioned this too. It would be nice if it translated Japanese to romanji. Not very good at reading kanji.

Professor. Couldn't handle two short, simple, commonly used French phrases. I threw the app away at that point. Why leave something as ineffective as that in my iPhone's memory?

Sign Language translator. I found this app unuseful. Many of the signs are finger-spelled. If I knew that was the case I would not have bought the app. I can finger-spell, I need something that actually shows signs.

Used to work well. Man, I'm very disappointed in the update. Before the update, you could translate phrases. Now, "Quota exceeded". Gotta find a new one, delete this:(

What happened?. This used to be a very useful app until all it did was open that ad. By the way, the translation of the bold text says "This website is over-largely inaccessable"
