bite sized articles of a delicious paper. title

Daily Dose of Sermons?. So the tagline for FT Edit is your Daily dose of expert news. Unfortunately, I think FT is confusing expert news with their opinion on the news or just plain soapboxing about their causes. For example, the 29 Mar edition included saving the world by going vegan. A previous day had a non-sequitur about conservatives ‘losing the war’ because to paraphrase, they won’t endorse left-wing social causes. I like the concept of FT Edit but the output doesn’t match and even with the lower trial price, it’s not worth it IMO.

Should be free for paper subscribers. The articles in this application are digital copies from mostly recent articles published on FT Weekend, therefore subscription to this application should be free for paper subscribers. Paper subscribers already spend hundreds on their yearly subscription, having to pay extra for the same articles delivered differently seems unjust. But what really killed it is the recent inclusion of emoji on its push notifications, that is just annoying and makes it feel like low quality reporting, even if it is not, so I cancelled.

An Excellent Tool & Resource. The perfect compliment to the wonderful FT coverage!

Seriously?. One of my ‘first of the day’ apps until they went to audio. A great news resource ruined.

Just right. This app is fantastic, fitting both my time and budget. I’d love to take in the full FT, but that’s just a pipe dream given I already get the NYT and Washington Post daily and The Economist weekly. Now I can read a few FT stories each day for a price that matches my consumption. Still, there’s a little room for improvement. It’d be great to be able to “gift” articles, as other paywalled publications allow. I’d also like to be able to send the full text of articles to my read-it-later app, Reader (from the developers of Readwise).

Perfect for me. I love this app, it gives me exactly what I wanted. I find myself a little busy to read every single article everyday. I want to be able to stay in touch with what’s going on and in a couple of dedicated minutes. It doesn’t replace my news intake, I like to read the economist over the weekend, and other magazines when I have the chance but it does give me a good insight of current events. Great app, works well, I like the articles, gets the job done!!!

All the value, no noise. A focused set of articles means anything silly or trending toward click bait (less of an FT problem than other media) is non exist

Landscape view only. Was planning to subscribe but the iPad app is only available in landscape view. I HATE LANDSCAPE VIEW.

Audio version. Thank you. This was the missing piece of FT Edit!

Complicated. Trying to figure it out

A very great selection of articles.. FT edit has achieved what few others have tried but failed: it made me like to read the news. The finite and high relative quality of the articles compared to its sister app has left me much more satisfied getting through my news supplement of the day. And I might add that it isn’t so much as news but analysis and deep form content, which is a very great value considering the monthly price for the app.

No App on Android. I use different devices and can’t use the app and subscription on Android. Would love to appreciate my subscription also on the bigger screen of my Android tablet but I can’t because there is no app for Android. I pay for a subscription and I expect to be able to use it on all my devices.

It’s Opinion Pieces. They say news, but it’s largely opinion pieces of relevant world matters. There’s not many factually pieces which is what I was looking for. So if you’re looking for factual news that’s quick then I much prefer Morning Brew 🤷🏻‍♀️

Good selection of articles. I have been reading Financial Times since 2009 mostly for insights and views. I may be biased. However, this format is perfect for someone who rarely reads news cover to cover. So far, I have enjoyed all the picks. Good mix of politics, economics and Science. This is not meant to replace the news but it is more like curated weekly magazine. Loving this format so far and the price is so reasonable.
