Great networking experience!. I love networking on Hopin and the app makes it easy to network from your phone — really looking forward to using it for hybrid events.

Audio issue. The app is mostly fine, with one glaring issue: the inability to play audio through external audio devices (Bluetooth headphones etc). There is no option for that in the context menu on the video feed. Fix that and you’re golden.

Do NOT use for Professional-grade seminar hosting. I went to a conference where Hopin was specially contracted to handle the streaming and messaging for the group. Despite being hired and paid very well, they delivered THIS product, which failed the group in almost every way that it was specifically contacted to fulfill. As a tech person, I was responsible for running some of the streaming, and there wasn’t even a way to designate a meeting host and prevent others from jumping in with unmuted mics and shared screens. It defaulted audio and video input, even when told to use one input it would activate a different one, and I couldn’t change it without closing the window and re-opening it to the sign in page. Sometimes it would do this 2-3 times in a row. Pop-up windows also would get stuck on my screen, and I couldn’t remove them (or even drag them across the screen) without closing the browser, which was a major problem when hosting a hybrid session. There was also some major lack of security around sign in, and we couldn’t use the messaging system the way that we were supposed to. I waited a while to post this review in case I was just emotional about it at the time, but many months later I can still objectively say it was a bad experience all around and I recommend contracting elsewhere for anyone who wants a seminar or conference platform.

Infinite loop. I’m an event organizer and I’m trying to test out the app for my attendees. When I download the app and open it, it sends me into some kind of infinite loop of login-logout.

Not good for IPad. Just downloaded the app expecting to have it supported for the iPad but I was disappointed, reason I went with app is because I was having audio issue with my web version and could active microphone during the discussion Update 6/20/2021 Same issue with web browser version so using the app on IPad but issue is it does not use the horizontal orientation for the menu and can’t see chat or polls etc on the video in horizontal orientation

Current version is broken - can’t sign into Apple ID. Permanently stuck in a login loop on iOS 14.5. Have tested across more than one device. Bummer.

Very convenient to use on the go!. The app is easy to use and allows me to listen in on events from anywhere - massive improvements over the last few months so I’ll definitely be using it more

Barely usable on an iPad. The hopin web app is has no audio on an iPad, but will render the video full screen. This is equally disappointing, since all you get is a tiny iPhone-sized rendering. If this at least supported multitasking, then I could use one for video and the audio for audio, but no, that doesn’t seem to work either.

Horrible. Terrible UI.. In an age where apps are standard, this app is atrocious. When attending to log into the Alexa Live event 2022, the app told me I would be logged out of all my sessions. What? Then when presented with the Live event link, it was non responsive. Funny, I clicked on tech support and I’m brought to the viewing link. Who is running the UI experience at Hopin?

Grateful it was a free app.. That was the nicest thing I can say about it. I was on a 3 day coaching intensive. I couldn’t stay connected on the main stage when the speaker went longer than the programmed time. I was not able to find people to do dm’s with. They had to dm me. When using Zoom if you do @ and the person you can tag them or dm them on this app it worked the first day but did not after that. This platform app does not work well on an Apple Iphone 11.

Impossible to use. Only works on a phone app, not iPad or a computer. And the image is microscopic! I had to find a stage..... ? Which is only available in the iPhone?

Terrible functionality on IPad. This really doesn’t work on an iPad at all. The app functions only in portrait mode and does not resize. It’s just generally not responsive and this not useable.

So frustrating even to delete!!!. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not great for iOS use. This app does not work well with iOS. I am typically going to remote conferences while I’m doing my work on my work computer so I use an iPad to port the video out to a large screen and then interact in the chat with the iPad. Using chat during the presentation is very difficult with this app, which is really optimised for phone use so that the layout is bad on a larger iPad screen, and there is no way that I have found to view just the slides as the presenter’s talking so I’m seeing a slightly larger version of an iPhone screen that has a lot of space used that I’m not interested in more than the slides. I wouldn’t choose to use this app for presentations, but I have to win the conference I’m attending has chosen it.

App keeps crashing. The app crashes randomly during sessions and when switching back from other app, or even by reading notification.

No sound on events. I’m using iOS 15 and I have no sound on events. What’s the point of attending if I can’t hear presentation. This is a joke

Perfect companion app. Keeps getting better. So valuable that I can stay engaged with the events I’m interested in while I’m on the go traveling, or even when I just want to get some fresh air and walk outside.

Broken app. App is broken. Doesn’t let you sign in.

High quality video interaction and chat. I downloaded the Hopin app for an event and was blown away by the navigation and ability to move around the event “venue” — so many ways to interact with people! Chat was so interesting to participate in and high quality video too. Definitely make sure you’re on wifi not roaming.

Go back to Attendify. Worst event app I’ve ever used. Last year the same event used Attendify: GREAT APP. Apparently Hopin acquired Attendify? And then downgraded? Events were hard to see. When times overlapped, it wasn’t very clear. Notifications only came THROUGH THE APP and did not push to my phone or Lock Screen; then stayed for a couple seconds, went away, and then you couldn’t find it again. Just awful and really detrimental to the event.

Experienced all previous negative reviews reports. Sign in issues, connectivity issues, doesn’t work on iphone or iPad in a way such as you can read & access all options, can’t leave the app (no Picture in Picture or won’t continue to play while you take notes somewhere else, never was able to participate in the poll because the button would not become visible. For iphone, only the arrow carrot for chat is visible on main screen. Very disappointed the Event sponsor did not notify users that they would have to use Chrome or Firefox & that Safari is not supported on iPad and that you’re basically only going to get the best experience by using an actual desktop computer or laptop.

Avoid. Poorly designed, often unusable, unreliable, inefficient, and confusing. Sick of wasting my time with this app. Frustrating! The website is also barely usable on mobile, but at least it’s better than this app.

It’s been a disaster since 2019.. Use it to tank your events.

Useless App. I truly hope they're working on something better. It doesn't give me confidence that a business where all their assets are online would approve such a lacking app. I was hoping this was better than their OK mobile version of their website. Nope. The only thing I can click is actually an hyperlink that opens Safari to their website. I don't get what the app is used for. FYI, I'm hosting an event on Hopin, maybe it's useful for attendees.

iPad version is useless and web version is annoying on iPad. The iPad version is just the small screen iPhone version. The web app is annoying as it doesn’t keep playing content if you minimize the browser. Also, it keeps telling me that my password is too weak even though it’s a generated password 30 characters long.

Horrible on iPad. The app does not work with iPad OS. Scaled down, strange keyboard inside small view. Not able to project toApple TV. All around useless.

Incomplete and buggy. Promising start but needs a lot of work. App is currently far behind the browser version, which itself is still buggy as well. Needs to focus on fixing bugs first rather than rolling out new features.
