Calendar function doesn't work.. UPDATE: FIXED! Quick response from the dev! When creating the widget, everything looks good, but when actually putting it on my homescreen it says "And 1 more" instead of the actual event.

Great app but. I will update this review as time goes on. This app has a lot of options and potential to be the best in the app store. I will list a few things. The customize options rules but with limited options so far. I will like to see a way I can add a image as a background that will do all the cells or individual cells as an option. Also the option to add the default weather or any weather app that has the widget option. I like how you can build with this also some options with the time styles and a option to add a battery that has some styles to, a background picture that can fill the with of all cells as one image like I mentioned before will be great. I paid full for the pro. I will wait a the developer adds more. Thank you.

Buggy but off to a good start.. I was looking for a way to put text over an image for a widget and this app gave me just that... with a price though. I had to redo the widget several times, but after 20ish minutes I finally got it. Some issues are that the “button” area for the boxes seem to be all over the place and I’d have to click several cm away from the actual boxes to select them. Also sometimes, text randomly gets bigger or smaller and colors change. However, I’m sure the dev will fix these too so I’m not too upset. All in all, a great start!

Excited for nothing paid for disappointment. The app seems great - used the small 4block to include “macstories”, music and two other options however the top left block is the only one that is responsive to the assigned app / feed etc. I deleted - tried again and again and no matter what only one block works - I tap any of the four blocks and whatever is in the top right is what “works”

Widgeridoo. I just started with this app and I really like it. It seems to have a lot going for it so I am in the explanation stage. I did set it up on my home page and so far so good!! Very impressed with this app. Thanks for creating it. 😊👍

Feature don’t work. Website feature doesn’t work....

Far better than the mainstream ones. This is WAY cleaner, WAY more professional, and WAY more customizable than the other widget editors I’ve used. Very impressive! Only suggestion I have is enabling us to add a photo as a background to a block as opposed to a color, and then being able to adjust the brightness of the photo accordingly.

Needs improvements. I like the idea of this app, but it lacks creativity. There needs to be more options for fonts, borders, etc. Also, when I actually go to use the widget I created, it blows up the size on my phone.

Pretty good functionality but the blurry photos ruin it.. As a Pro user, Widgeridoo is relatively straightforward to use. It’s simple and powerful in the effects you can achieve, but the current version displays high res, crisp images as blurry when imported into the widget. It’s pretty frustrating and I hope this issue is fixed in upcoming versions. —Update: Shoutout to the super responsive developer for consistently working to improve the app. Looking forward to crisper pictures. Thanks for responding!

Great app, one suggestion. This app is great, I just have one suggestion. Please fix the bug that downgrades the quality of an image when you set it to be the background of a widget. This would make the app significantly more useable for me and others who I know use the app.

Great App, Could Use More. This app is one of the best widget app but it would be nice to be-able to add more information such as clock, but a great start!

Needs work. This widget is so close to being really good, but...the calendar doesn’t reliably refresh—for instance, it still says today is Columbus Day a week after the holiday ended. Similar problems have happened before and I could only update it by uninstalling and reinstalling the app. Developer has acknowledged my problem and I hope he can fix it.

App is great!. Would love the ability to remove the comma from the date when using a date block!

Now I’m making my own widgets!. Can be confusing at first, just have to be patient. I had to do lots of trial and error and after a couple of hours I was confidently making my own widgets. I gave it 5 stars because it’s NOT SUBSCRIPTION (single purchase) and only $4.99. I wish there’s a way to share my widgets though.

I think it’s pretty good.. It’s exactly what I wanted except when I try to make one of my pictures as a background, it brings the quality down a horrendous amount.

Overall good app. I like this app. It is very easy to customize widgets. However I created a widget that uses the calendar event list and nothing shows up. Just a blank spot.

Great Job. I think this app is useful and very well executed with a couple of minor bugs (e.g, whenever I use the fill option on the photo part, the unseen part of the image will open the edit options of the image slot, which is a bit obtrusive). I would really appreciate it if it was possible to cycle through albums of photos for the image slot

Charge?. I’ve purchased the pro features as soon as I downloaded the application, there was an update (recently) and I did the update but it was never shown that it will cost $3.99 US dollars.. very bad developer to do businesses with.

Best one yet. I’ve been trying all these widgets and this app is the best one yet!!! So easy to use!!!! And so versatile!!! Had to get the pro version but it’s worth the 3.99

Fantastic App But Constantly Crashes. The app I have been waiting for as far as widgets go, but literally constantly crashes. I can’t even create a proper widget because it’s constantly crashing. The built in options so far are great and there is quite a bit that is customizable, but would love to see some more customization options, and some more widget options in the future.

Decent app overall but there is a small problem. Hi, I have a problem with the app. As I read in another review you’re supposed to be able to edit the first widget (correct me if I’m wrong). Though when I tried to do so it said that I needed to buy the pro version to do so, at first I was able to edit it then later on it brought up the pro version message. So I’m confused if you took out that feature or the new update might’ve messed that up?

Great start!. I’ve tried many widget apps and this one has a lot of potential for sure! I would love to see more font choices and also an undo button and a delete button (for the boxes) when setting up your own template. So many times I tried to add a row or a column and it wasn’t what I pictured in my head and then couldn’t easily fix it. It’s definitely more customizable than any other I’ve tried. I can’t wait to see what future updates hold as far as additions to what we can use and integrate into the widgets.

Trying to make a music widget but it’s awful. First off, the quality. The logo of the music icon (the note) is very pixelated. Even the background image I chose came out pixelated, and it’s very high def. Second, you can’t see the music (playlist icon, album, etc.). Third, there is no way to change the font color so it is distinct from the foreground color, which means the middle part is not legible. Fourth, there is no way to remove the music note entirely without just making it (and the font) transparent.

Loved it at first. I absolutely loved this app and my custom photo/calendar widget when I first got it, but before I could get it on my daughter’s phone and my husband’s when I tried to add another photo or create a new widget it only adds a blue box, without any widgets:/ I’ve send an email to the developer, but haven’t received a response as of yet. I’m really hoping it was a user error.

Deceiving…. It says no subscription, but there is a window that is open on the home page that promotes going pro. If you click on it, it leads you to the Upgrade page but no way to scroll down to any way to buy the Upgrade…

So Far...So OK. Made a photo widget, been waiting to do this, but the photo appears blurry. It’s coming from Apple Photos where it looks fantastic, even when zoomed in, however the Widget version looks terrible. Really hope this gets corrected.

Good but could be better. Love the features but wish there was a few more so that I’d could customize the widgets more to my preference. Upgraded to pro but was a little disappointed because i wasn’t able to adjust my photo without being cut off😩

Amazing!. This app is the best widget app I have seen so far! You can make your own custom widget which tells you someone’s birthday, or reads Reddit! I just don’t like 1 widget without pro.

Great app! A bit clunky, but very useful. This is the best widget app I have seen so far. I’ll probably not end up using it though. Creating a widget can be slightly awkward and clunky, but not terrible. More font options are very much needed. I was really hoping for pretty much exactly this, but with a transparent background option. I’m not sure if that is possible though. (If it is, and that gets added I likely will use this.) Also, maybe I’m missing it, but the option for a background image instead of a colour would also be nice. Having to see the app name underneath is kinda turning me off from widget apps like this. Not a fault of this app though. Nothing can be done about that. More can definitely be added. I will be watching this app for sure!

Charged without consent!. Charged for “Pro Update” without authorization. I contacted Apple to find out what “Pro Update” app was. They told me it was from this app. I never requested to be upgraded on this app. Even when I download the app it doesn’t show that I am “Pro.” **It must be possible because I was charged for the “update” when I never upgraded...so yes I contacted Apple. Even so, when downloading your app again AFTER being charged...the “upgrade status” did not even show in your app. I have no idea how you guys managed to charge my account either...

Worthless. I downloaded the app spent Time designing my widgets and couldn’t add them to my Home Screen. Tried everything so I gave in a paid. Spent $3.99 for no reason same nonsense. Can’t actually put the widgets you design into use!

Confusing widgets that can't be edited 😕. I appreciate the developer's response to my original review. Interestingly, the response says that only the first widget is available to users unless they buy the app. That's fine. However, the app on my iPad clearly states "select a widget in the list on the left". So, that's what I did and one reason I found it confusing. It says nothing about only having access to one widget. The app's usability might be better if it did two things: 1. Clearly separate free vs purchasable widgets. 2. Let users see the contents of purchasable widgets, but not change them. --- Original Review --- Confusing widgets that can't be edited 😕 Three examples: - The compact widget evidently has an area for a photo, possibly a contact photo. On my device, there's just an icon there. There's no way to set the photo, contact, or whatever it is. Instead, if I tap on it, the app asks me for money. - 3 of the widgets have what appear to be circular graphs with data in them. There's no way to tell what these graphs represent. If I tap on them to try to find out, the app asks me for money. - The calendar widget is picking calendar entries from Calendar's that I have access to, but that I don't use. If I try to find a way to set the calendars, the app asks me for money. This might be a good app, but I can't tell based on the widgets provided.

Best Potential Custom App Widget So Far. In its current state I’d give the App 3 stars so the extra star is for clear potential I hope the developer comes through with. Speaking of that potential, I checked the app website, where can we submit suggestions for future updates? E.g date format, metric units, opacity slider for background color, new dynamic blocks, etc.

Good app, needs more functionality. Overall, like this app. Seems pretty useful. Wish it hooked into more of the native apps in iOS or even third party apps so we could put more stuff in there. But honestly, it’s pretty unique compared to others and pretty handy to stick a few things together into one widget. Well done developers.

One of the best apps for widgets, but missing some customizability. I know this sounds a bit stupid, with this app being all about customizing widgets and everything, but it is missing some actions that could’ve been easily implemented, such as shaping things differently and having a different action on click, but don’t get me wrong, compared to the rest of them, this is the best apps you can use to customize an apple device

Good, but buggy. This is a very good app, but for some reason I cannot change some values. I cannot change text size, and on clocks i cannot change size of timezone. If those were fixed, i would update this review to a 4/5 stars.

Doesn’t restore purchase. I have been using widgeridoo since it came out on beta and it was a great app I paid for the 4.99 for the pro upgrade when it was in beta now that the app has fully come out it isn’t letting me restore my purchase.

Great app but I wish there was more. I really love this app and paid the extra $4 for the pro version. I love it because of the customization features using color. I just hope there’s more things like a clock, timed widgets (widgets that switch at a certain time), and a lot more things. Overall great app just needs some updates!

Don’t Bother. Stupid app! Waste of time and money! Only 4 font choices. Can’t resize the time and date properly! This crap app is a clunky, junky mess! I’m going to request a refund and delete this thing! Also, this is another “widget” app that won’t let you hide its name when you load it on to your Home screen! I regret installing it on my phone!

BEST ONE !!. this is the best widget app !!! i would like more options of things to add but for just starting it has a good selection and lets me pick one photo however i would like an option to pick how the photo is displayed and the option to add more photos

Pro Version Doesn’t Work!. I purchased pro version immediately. Big mistake. Would like refund. iPhone XS Max running 14.2. Can create medium widget with 3 pics from photos. Install blue box placeholder. Tap to edit while still wiggling. Get “choose widget” screen, which just spins for 10 mins, never letting me choose widget I created. Emailed developer, and appreciate the quick response but his instructions to “restart device” doesn’t work. Same problem. Other widget apps work flawlessly including with photos. How do I get refund?

1st opening the app. I just wanted to write a review about the message once you open the app, it’s so sweet and I just had to point it out <33 thank you sooo much for helping me customize and personalize my phone. I have a lot of fun with these kinds of little customization things and it’s nice to know that I’m hopefully supporting you as an independent developer/designer and your dog :)))

Some improvements needed. So when I added the Widget, the picture I put on too was extremely blurry as well as having the text “click to edit” on top of it. I would give this 5 stars if it wouldn’t have made the quality look worse and no be covered by words :)

Good potential but... I got this app because i just got ios 14 and want to hop on the train to customize my phone. It took me about half an hour to figure out my way around the app and when I tried adding an image in half of my widget, the image quality came out really poor even though the original image I tried to add in is crystal clear. It’s possible there’s some way to fix this, but I haven’t found it yet. Also don’t see a way to edit the image you’re trying to put in? Like to crop it. Overall this app has great potential but I think it could stand to be more user-friendly (like Widgetsmith) and have some bugs worked out.

Nicely done app. Before downloading/purchasing the app, I looked at the reviews. Some people said they saw a few bugs that needed to be fixed but otherwise said it’s a great app. I decided to give it a try. I am glad I did! This app is a bit quirky but I am sure the very responsive dev (one of the reasons I decided to try the app) will fix the few bugs. Overall it’s a great app and lets you do a lot of things with much more coming soon I bet. I love that I can customize the entire look & feel of every aspect of a widget that you create. You may ask why I gave it a 5 star review if the app has a few bugs...Besides it being a great app overall, I did so because every bug that has been reported the dev quickly addressed so I gave the app 5 stars because the dev is very responsive that is a trait that is hard to come by these days and should be applauded. I look forward to see what other features gets added to this app!

Really buggy. I love this app but when I try to type in a text box it kicks me out of the app and then When I go back to the widget I was working on it kicks me out and never lets me back in

You have got to be kidding!. This may be the quintessential widget app but I’ll never know! Why? (You might ask). Because I downloaded the app with the dumb name. I try using this app... but I cannot do ANYTHING! They keep asking for money! How am I, or anyone else, suppose to try it out if money demands keep precluding the opportunity to test out the app. Not exactly being respectful of the consumer, are they? So, SAYONARA! I get to keep my money and look for something more creative and user friendly and you get to keep your app! I’ve got your number, so to speak: it’s all about money.

Broken. When I open the app it crashes instantly. I’ve reset my phone and deleted and reinstalled the app but still doesn’t work.

Issues with the widgets. I love Widgeridoo I find it easier to use than other widget apps and it’s worth getting the pro however the one consistent problem I have is that the widgets sometimes don’t update on the Home Screen once I change something. I left a widget over night hoping it will update once I wake up but it never did. I created a new widget but it only ever showed the default empty widget even after I’ve changed it multiple times. Hope this gets resolved because other than this it’s a really good app

issue with images. after installing 14.0.1 i’ve been having issues with adding images to widgets. a white line will appear on the side or bottom of the image’s tab no matter what i try. also, it’s really frustrating not being able to adjust how far the image is zoomed in. it’s a real pain to have to go back and forth between cropping the picture in my photo library and then seeing if it’s aligned right in the widget. being able to control how far images are zoomed in and positioned in the app would be a very good feature

Setting sliders not functioning. I tried to change the size of a font and the slider was unresponsive. I tried a variety of different fonts with no luck. Tried to send an email to the dev from within the app, but the send option wouldn't work. Appears that the app has issues with ios 15.0.2. Please fix soon!

Super customizable!. Very impressed by how customizable this is!! Would love to see more full calendar and time options, and maybe reminders too? but I’m sure there are ways to go since iOS 14 has just started out. Great work!!

Expected more. I bought the pro feature and realized I still can’t retitle widgets, customizable features are a lot more limited than I would like.

Poorly functioning. Every time I try to create a widget with the date on it, the app will immediately stop working properly and will only think that I’m trying to edit the block with the date on it, no matter what I do. If I try to edit another block, it will think I’m trying to edit the date block. If I’m trying to upload the widget, it will send me to the menu where I can edit the date block. Even if I just try to go back to another widget, I will think I’m trying to edit the date block. This is the fourth time I’ve deleted and reinstalled this app trying to get it to work, because I only have once chance for it to work per install, because I have to pay to add more widgets. Until I can figure this out, I wouldn't say that I recommend.

Time and battery are not accurate. Really love the idea! But time and battery are not accurate. If you use some apps and then check time and battery, it’s always stuck or behind. Will gave a 5 if this can be fixed!

Almost Perfect. I love the customizability the app provides. It allows anyone to make a widget to fit the theme of their home screen. Personally I would love to see a weather block. Also is it possible to have the blocks open the apps they tie into? For example tapping a date block would ideally open the calendar and so on. If by chance this function is already built into the app then i doesn’t seem to work for me. When I tap any of the blocks on my widget it just opens the widgeridoo app.

The most customizable one hands down. It almost does what I need... but it’s missing the “Time” category, it only has “Date”. Would be 5 stars otherwise.

Nice and simple. Any widgets that are currently in use, however are not able to be edited without crashing the app, therefore I must remove the widget from Home Screen to modify the contents.

Sooo customizable. Absolutely amazing app! Stunningly customizable. Easy to use. So conveniently fits with any theme you’ll choose for your Home Screen. Love it!! I hope we can have more items to add in the future, like reminders.

Why 5 stars?? NO SUBSCRIPTION. 80% of the the reason I’m taking the time to write this review is because the dev doesn’t ask for frickin’ subscription to use essential parts of it, or any part of it. ALSO, it’s a great app that offers valuable usability and a clean smooth easy user Interface.

Doesn’t sync between iphone and ipad. I would rate it higher if it did, but having to recreate widgits for each device and it looks like having to pay pro twice makes this a no go for me.

Really good!. I previously left an review that said the JSON block caused battery drain but that wasn’t an issue after all, I guess that battery drain I saw was from initial setup. Everything works well and my battery isn’t impacted!

Awesome but buggy. This is the best and most powerful widget maker I have tested. But it keeps crashing when I’m building my widget. Mainly when I add a calendar or reminders blocks.

Good concept but needs a bunch of improvements. The concept is amazing but needs more support the app is complicated when u add photos to blocks they show in very low resolution music should support Spotify but I understand if u cant a lot of crashes if u guy’s work on this it will be one hell of an app

I’m a YouTuber and I saw a great video by “Fixed by chaq” on YouTube how to use this app to make a custom widget that shows you your subscribers count and how to customize it. He didn’t ask me to post this and I don’t even know him, the amount of customization in this app is amazing and works soooo well! Great work. Can’t wait to see more customization

Could be better. It’s kind difficult to get 4 peoples birthdays to pop up in a small square widget. You got to play around with deleting boxes & columns to get the desing you want

Custom Widgets Not Working. Great app, but custom widgets are not working. Whether it’s small, medium, or large custom widgets, it shows a blank blue box instead.

Great Start. 9/30/20 Enjoying the flexibility of this widget creator. Easy to use and understandable interface. I would like to see more Block options when creating the widget, and an option to remove the text under the widget when its applied to a Home Screen for the cleaner more natural look.

Don't buy. Only the designer can figure it out. Just a few options to choose to create a widget. Waste of money.

Not so happy. I purchased this app to add widgets to my MacBook Pro and it says I can use this app on my iPhone iPad and Mac soo I got it and I can’t even use it on my MacBook 🙃

Did just what I wanted in an elegant way. I wanted to create a widget that would display Covid-19 new cases and infection rate data for my state using the covidactnow.org json data api. Searched the app store and found Widgeridoo. I got a proof of concept working in a matter of a few minutes thanks to the great json view mode and it only took a few more to get conditional background colors working based on data values. Only criticism is that for some reason the app didn’t show up right away when I wanted to actually add the widget, but this issue seemed to resolve itself. One feature suggestion would be additional operators like < > <= etc. when setting up overrides. Thanks for the app I’m sure I will find more uses for it and will recommend to friends. Food luck!
