a convenient metronome. I love this because it is so simple to get it to do what you want without stopping playing.

Can’t use with bluetooth. Actually breaks other apps as well. It’s ridiculous that you can’t use this app with Bluetooth. It just won’t. Only on your phone or aux out. You can’t use bluetooth nor AirPlay. You can’t even play audio from another app via Bluetooth and use this at the same time. Really, really annoying and unhelpful. Ugh.

This is Cool!. No internet needed was a key reason of why I bought this app, why, my only internet is mobile because of where I live. It works very well, and makes it easy while jamming with those who have not learned the timing of how to play that first note.

Thank you. I would like to thank you for making a great synth! And still being great!

Awesome!. I’m here to show my support in your creative work. You guys are awesome and this app is great too. Keep the good work.

Compelling. A hands free metronome is pretty great.

Great concepts, some bugs. Let me start by saying all the stuff I like about this app. 1. User Interface - sleek and modern 2. Ableton Link - this is a game changer 3. Banks of preset songs 4. Ability to create set lists 5. Voice commands - super unique and essential However, I am facing some issues with it and I am not sure if these are bugs that I am facing or somethings that have been deliberately left out. 1. Screen Locking while metronome is playing - If I am playing visually by referring to the pulse or the beat labels, the screen shut down renders the app quite useless. I think it should allow the screen to stay on while the app is running. 2. While waking the app back from background or after a screen unlock, the sound stops. The metronome stops every time it is resumed (this is of course with the 'Play in Background' setting on. So pair that with the previous issue, not only the screen goes dark while playing, the playing stops when I try to get back into the app. Quite detrimental. 3. All the voice commands have equivalent touch gestures except for mute and unmute. Please help me locate it if it's there somewhere. 4. This may be a bug? When the screen locks out while playing, the sound of the beat becomes dull for a bar or two and keeps happening every few bars. Like it becomes extremely lo-fi and comes back up. As you can see, I have done some thorough testing because I appreciate the app for what it is. But I will only continue to use it if these issues are addressed in some form or the other. Thanks!

👍👍👍. Liked

Great app!. I decided to try this app, even though there are other metronome apps that I’m satisfied with. I am really impressed! It’s easy to use, the voice control is very useful, plus there are lots of sounds that you can choose from, like drum beats, instead of being limited to a click-click sound.

Fighting with Siri. I really enjoy the features of Hey Metronom. My only complaint is that after installing and running it, my Hey Siri recognition stopped working. When I went into settings and toggled Siri voice activation off and back on, Siri started working again, but Hey Metronome stopped working. I'm on iPhone XR with IOS 13.4.1.

Great metronome with voice activation!. Love it...I can set the tempo and change it with voice activation hands free!

Fun and Fully Featured. Really simple to use app that is a delight to play with. Under the hood it has a ton of advanced options more accomplished musicians will appreciate. Play around to discover all the ways you can use it during your practice sessions.

Wow, this is a cool songwriting tool!. I got an email about this and at the 99¢ intro price, it’s a no-brainer. I’ve had PolyNome for a long time. It’s an incredibly powerful and flexible programmable metronome app but this makes for a really complex interface and I’ve never really gotten around to using it for songwriting as I planned. Based on an hour of playing with Hey Metronome, I can see that it will be great for songwriting. It’s really easy to set different time signatures and to experiment with different note groupings and instantly hear the effects with different tempos, whether by voice control or with simple screen controls. This can be quite helpful in getting out of a songwriting rut. It’s obviously also a great practice tool but whenever I try to practice, I always end up starting a new song. Not that this is a bad problem to have.

🗣Awesomeness!!!. Great app that has lots of features. Good sounds to pick from. Love the sound choices!

Good for for the basic function. ...and voice recognition is sometimes helpful. Visual effects on beats could be briefer for more accurate cuing.

Incredible Practice Tool. What a fun way to take the drudgery out of metronome practice! My thanks to the people who worked to make such a stellar app.

Voice recognition but no counting off?. Is there not a way to say Hey Metronome, 1 and 2 and 3 and 4? (And then have the app reply back “ok, ive set the tempo to 128.5 bpm, would you like me to count off and begin?”) The way this works, kinda like google home/alexa, which is neat, if I already know the tempo, but if I want to tap a tempo I still have to tap with my finger. I never know the tempo, its in my head, I dont read sheet music or know anything about classical music tempo names, but I would love to not have to tap ever again. I thought thats what this app would do... maybe in a future update you guys can provide that?

Helps a lot keeping the beat. I'm old guy in my sixites starting back playing guitar and learning keys. This app is great for helping me re-develop my sense of rhythm. Cool percussion sounds too. Love Audiokit stuff.

Leegondese. Great metronome. It definitely clicks on time.. I don’t know what else to say

Good drum sounds, hands free voice control. I really like the variety of drum sounds with this app…much more fun to play to a drum pattern than the click click click of a metronome. Voice control takes a little getting used to, but lets you keep your hands on your instrument, without breaking the flow of practice. Nice app.

Incredible. First I have to ask how soneone can say that an app is great and well executed and give 3 stars. Ratings are not a way to communicate with the developer. It's a way to tell others how good or bad an app is. Many people will skip past an app with 3 stars. Is that what you want. Or all you care about is to get your idea communicated? Send an email to the developer and change your stars to what it should be. This app is wonderful and again shows the total lack if greed in the hearts of the AudioKit people. It's the kind of app that everyone will use. It's obviously a 5 star app. How can a new idea that will be used by every musician be anything else, especially when it is first released. Of course there will be things that we will want to add to it, but that does not mean you should take off a star for every feature you think it should have. Think before you stink. If only people would stop thinking only about themselves and their own little petty desires, what a much better world we could have.

Fantastic BUT Needs UI for Exit. A great idea well executed but on my XS Max, there doesn’t seem to be any way to exit the app … swiping up leaves it running in the background, whether you want that or not. Force Close works, of course, but not everyone knows about Force Close. Would be a 5 star app with an Exit/Quit button, or at least make it recognize Hey Metronome! Exit and Quit. Update: The Developer’s response I would characterize as a “workaround”, not a solution. Playing in the background is a useful feature to some people, which still leaves the “how do I close this thing?” issue. I would hope that a means to close the app other than Force Close (or disabling background play) will be added in a future update. Another Update: Just tried disabling the “play in background” option and it doesn’t fix the problem. Swiping up to close the app still leaves the app running, as can be seen by the red “microphone in use” icon on the top left of the home screen. In other words, Force Close or rebooting the phone appears be be the only way to shutdown the app on an XS Max. As I said in my initial review, it’s a great idea well executed, but please fix the unable to shutdown issue. I know from experience that many iPhone users do not know Force Close even exists, let alone how to do it — for those people the app will be very annoying since they’ll be powering off the phone in order to stop the app. I should have made it clear that it’s not just the red icon showing on exit — the microphone no longer works. Neither Hey Siri or Hey Metronome work. The developer asked for an app that handles this issue, and I’d like to suggest Shazam. That app has a run in the background feature they call Auto Shazam and it is NOT on by default. You enable it explicitly and when you open the app again it tells you that Auto Shazam is active and tells you how to turn it off.

Excellent. A nice piece of kit. Well done, thank you!
