Morning news on app. I watch WNEP via the app every morning. I think the app could be more user friendly in the way I access live content. The system Is very sensitive to access advertisements. Those are the first things that appear when I log in, rather than actually watching the live channel. If I touch the phone gently, I seem to stop the news and start an ad. Sometimes I have to hit Watch several times to get sound. I have an iPhone 13, so it isn’t the technology.

Awful. Terrible app. I switched over from the original app like I was supposed to, and now I’ve uninstalled it all completely. It’s difficult to navigate as the general set up is very poor, ads everywhere-EVERYWHERE-and if you want to just read a story but not watch it, you can’t get the video not to autoplay when you click on the story link, even though the no autoplay option is selected. If you do choose to watch a story, you have to sit and watch an ad BEFORE EVERY SINGLE STORY before you’re allowed to see it. This was the same on the old app, but I’m tired of it either way. Get the PA Homepage app. It’s much more comfortable to navigate, great information, you’re not forced to play the videos, and you don’t have to watch ads every time you click on something.

New WNEP App. I didn’t like the app at first, but, with using it more I am finding more options particularly with the weather section. I am still getting used to the app and liking it the more I use it. I like the one app verses two apps. However, I have an issue with my location button, it doesn’t let me display my location marker. I get a pop up banner that says turn on location services, which I have turned on. I don’t like that the Moosic location can not be deleted. Also, I get notifications other than the weather even though I just have the weather switch turn on. I’d give the app a 5 if these issues were resolved.

News. Thank you for updating the news. I dislike when I watch the news in the a.m. and see the same news on the noon and six o’clock segments. Then the next day, the same exact piece from yesterday.

Great Job Channel 16. Channel 16 is the channel that we go to most especially for news. My parents watched channel 16 news every night and I am now 57 and I still watch channel 16 news, and weather. Love Joe’s craziness. Kurt and his little dog. Enjoy watching the new guy Jeremy, he’s doing a great job! We so like on the road with Mike Stevens, it’s nice to see what’s going on out there! Keep up the Great job!!

Great for people traveling!. Great way to stay in touch with the area while I’m away! I can look at the weather and read what’s doing on in my hometown! I thoroughly enjoy watching News Watch 16 and the app keeps me informed while I’m out of the area ! It’s definitely a win win for me! My only suggestion is I miss the old separate weather app with active radar! It would be nice to either get it back or add it on to this current app! Great Job!

Morning Crew. The Morning Crew during the Week are truly amazing!! They are so full of ENERGY, plus Ryan’s stories are the best he does so much research into each story and cover it from A thru Z. Then you have Mindy, Tom and Joe, they compliment each other so much. Finally Joe, where do I start, he is so super intelligent and takes his forecast and explains it so we can all understand!! One tip to WNEP keep this crew together, they brighten up every morning for so many people in NEPA !! Great Job Morning Crew!!

Sorry to be so negative. The app is slow to load. It’s very difficult to get around and find things. There doesn’t seem to be a main menu or search function. Did testers try to watch videos like Does it really work? The videos keep reloading and starting over. Even when they run they’re jerky. Ask someone who is seeing the app for the first time to go to the Does it really work videos. Watch what they have to do to find the videos, if they can find them. It seems like the developers were concentrating on presenting ads more than on usability. Pay more attention to the end user.

News and weather. I had moved south in 2005 and back here in 2020. One thing I truly missed was WNEP and watching our Joe and his antics. Always have been very informative and enjoyable. I was able to follow Joe and the station online but not the same. Happy to be back.

Notification functions are bad. Overall the app is fine, but I primarily wanted it for local weather alerts. I have my app notification settings set to where I am SUPPOSED to only receive severe weather alerts. Having said that I get notifications every day for other news completely unrelated to the weather. Fix the problem! Don’t send constant notifications for things you don’t have permission to send based on your in-app settings!

My local news. Just a FYI to all that make our day with your hard work and day to day work loads. I very much enjoy WNEP and all the folks that put that effort to let us know about our local and daily news as we sit safely at home and your all working and getting us the information of our surrounding. The app is great and the folks at WNEP are the best. Keep up the good job everyone.

Difficult to use.. This new site is difficult to navigate and to find areas that the old website had clearly labeled. I don’t like that it takes triple the time to find the areas and the “Topics” listing stinks. At this point I’ve started going to the other news websites rather than get so aggravated trying to find something or get to the news stories or possible delays. It is just my opinion, but I feel the design of this new website is poorly executed and not user friendly at all, especially if you’re a senior who is not using computers or mobile devices nonstop.

By far the worst news app ever. This app replaced a perfectly good app where one could scroll through the stories without having to go “back” after every story. The old app had a search. The old app had older stories as well as the latest headlines. And the old app allowed you to save your stories and/or forward them on. This app has NONE of that. My suggestion; if you’re going to replace an app with a new updated version, bring all the features from the old one over and improve them. Don’t take them away. Deleting app now and going to WBRE.

You asked.... Like the app .. would like to view more ‘on air’ time..without having to wait in between as we still see the ads so what’s the difference seeing the commercials on my phone or tv? Also I do like that I can get a 30 sec Joe Snydeker weather update when I’m on the run Sue Young

Fix notifications options. I ONLY want weather alerts, not news headlines cluttering my lock screen. I selected weather, have checked for these alerts and these ONLY, but the other crap also appears. I even have the warning message that my “notifications or banner alerts are turned off”, but yet I am getting the news I do not want. Kind of a contradiction, eh? I love WNEP, but if I can’t choose to have ONLY weather alerts, but still access to the news when I want it, I’ll get a different app.

Local news app perfect for everything. I use the WNEP app often to check the weather forecast, radar, and even to watch it when I can’t be in front of a TV. As a student, I also love the school closings feature that allows you to search for your school to see what’s up. Very useful app overall, highly recommend to people in NEPA.

Starts late in the app. By time you’re Able to click on the live broadcast it’s already a few minutes into it there’s a delay before it actually lets you click on it to watch it I think you need an update on this it’s been going on for a little bit now please let me know I appreciate it thank you I really like using the app

Wonderful. Your news and weather teams are extraordinarily warm and friendly. Few pretentious at WNEP. I appreciate that. Thank you. Wish the app would open faster. Seems to be a much too long pause between accessing the app and getting to the news, the weather, etc. Also would appreciate fuller Covid updates, not as thorough as The NY Times, but more currant local info on the app. Thanks all for your service to the community.

Just alright. I do not like this new version. I very much prefer the Stormtracker app, I am not looking for anything more then the weather and now it’s everything “news” you can find online. I wish they would keep the 2 apps seperate. I loved how I would get all the notifications for weather events near me, and it did that automatically I can’t even find how to make this new version do that. Not an upgrade in my opinion, just an overload

Weather. I missed not being able to watch WNEP for my news and especially Joe for weather. I came across you guys on News On . Who would ever think that the weather could be so entertaining, but once again I find myself sitting here laughing at what Joe is saying . Thank you Judy Besser

Whether to watch the weather. Love WNEP-it’s my go-to station for up to date news. And although I have the utmost confidence in your meteorological staff, I miss John Hinkey and his calm, knowledgeable delivery of the weather! I’m not sure what occurred but I do know it’s a terrible loss to the station!

Shame on Tegna. Woke up one morning without channel 16. No news or weather. In the northern end of Wayne county weather is important. Am extremely disappointed with the owner. They are doing a real disservice to their customers. The other news stations don’t cover this area. Love channel 16 news and weather and have been loyal viewers for years but shame on Tegna

ADs take over. I find this app difficult if not impossible to use. When I click on a news story to watch, ads pop up and then freeze. I rarely get a news story to watch and end up reading it in the text below instead. I also miss the feature of being able to watch a full newscast at any time of day. Now you have to be logged on during a live cast to see a full half hour of news. With the original app, I could log on at 2pm and see the entire recorded news from the noon newscast. That option is gone with this new app.

WNEP. I just love WNEP and all of the people who work there. You all complete my day. Always look forward to all of the antics and the great reporting. I have to say that Jeremy is a great addition to the team. I love his way of reporting the weather and what a Snappy Dresser. I love all of his outfits and look forward to seeing a lot more. He has excellent taste in clothing. Keep up the great work everyone ! WNEP, the only news station that I watch and depend on for reporting the news. Would love to meet Ranger someday and Roco. Not as good as the original. I like the app but I think the older version was better. It’s difficult to find stories that aren’t on the main page. With the old app you could hit view more and scroll through all stories. Wish they would bring that back. Other than that it’s a pretty good app. I still use it for local news.

Enjoy WNEP. I really enjoy WNEP app because they do a great job with the area news,informative about area events, and what’s happening in the area. I really enjoy it when we travel to Florida. It’s great to keep up with weather, school closings,and news in the our community.

WNEP. We are on Blue Ridge cable and as of April 1 we no longer receive WNEP through our cable. We are greatly disappointed with their decision because we were faithfulwatchers and especially loved the morning show. We loved this channel also because all the commentators (news, weather, sports, etc) seem so down to earth unlike the main channels like abc, cnn, etc. Blue Ridge has told us because WNEP is out of market and they said your increase of 60% was too much to pass on to customers. I just have a hard time believing that your station would have that much of an increase and the main channel would not. I don’t know much about the FCC and their rules, but if I could, I would exchange 50 channels that I don’t watch for WNEP. I am watching your station now on my iPad and will continue to do so. Great coverage. Almost always, I rely on WNEP for the most complete and accurate news. Especially with COVID 19 briefings. My only suggestion would be to please place some kind of notice on the screen of time for PA briefing. I can’t count how many times I’ve tuned in at 2pm and no briefing! Either I missed it or it will be later but nowhere can I find any information on the schedule.

Cancelling subscription to Blueridge cable. Please please don’t leave us Blueridge customers behind I’ve watched WNEP 16 for 14 years and only switched from my satellite to cable bc I was unable to get WiFi in these current days of Covid-19 how can anyone live without satellite how can I home school my grand babies ? Miss the old version !. Am I missing something??? I can’t find the option to watch live?? I really like the old apps…( news & Stormtracker 16) . I may delete this and try another news outlet- that makes me really sad because I love the morning crew!

Best News team ever.. My cable used to carry WNEP, that’s actually why I went back to cable.. and then just dropped it. I have Blue Ridge Cable. So I downloaded the app, and catch the news every morning and evening. Wish it were on a tv screen, but it’s not stopping me... best meteorologists!!

Best news cast. The best news station around better than any other ... when I moved to Florida I still watched news watch 16... I tweet with people from there I know a few of them from meeting out in the community so personable all of them .. the absolute best around love them ! 10/23 12/23 actually in Florida for Christmas and I watch it on my phone … love my local news team

Getting better. Hated it when they first forced me onto it because they eliminated their stand alone weather app. I use it mostly for weather anyway. Between ongoing improvement and my getting used to it, I don’t hate it as much. Still not very intuitive and it’s hard to navigate. Try finding the Pet pictures or posting a picture. Now it’s making me choose a nickname to submit my review. It’s a guessing game to find a nickname not already taken! Stupid!

I’m enjoying WNEP-TV on the internet.. It’s nice to connect with familiar communities of NEPA even though I no longer live in the area. I like the events and and “American Dream” lifestyle covered in the Wyoming Valley as well as the outlying area. Your coverage connects me to good values of our heritage in fresh and enduring topics. I compare it to the larger, more big city topics I view now. I relocated within PA about one and a half years ago. So the cosmopolitan is very different.

Developed for advertising and not user focused. The new app is difficult and confusing. It’s been developed for advertisers and not news, content, weather or the end user. Plus the splash screen is truly annoying. I already know what app I’ve opened and I know if it’s morning, afternoon, or night. When I open an app, especially a news app, I want the data I’m looking for as quickly as possible. Just removing the splash screen animation and having the app open straight to the news would improve this app to three stars for me. For now I’ve gone back a decade and just put a bookmark to the webpage on my phone instead of using the app. The WTSP app from 10 news out of Tampa was another unfortunate casualty of this design. The old WNEP app was very good, albeit outdated, it functioned well and did the job of presenting the user with data phenomenally. Plus why are you only allowed five saved locations for weather? I used the old WNEP app all over the country and if traveling I could store locations I travel to frequently. But the new app is limited to only five. It doesn’t even make logical sense. Why would you want someone to use another app that meets their needs and purposely cost yourselves ad revenue? I mean based on the barrage of ads on the new app you make it obvious that they are a major part of WNEP’s future.

The old version was better. When WNEP was bought out the app changed. And so did their programming. Many great news anchors left and based on their liberal bias I can see why. The weather app was much better because it would show and announce local lightning strikes. The new one does not do that.

Great improvement. Great improvement over previous app especially the weather maps. Everything flows smoothly and is easy to find. Not sure why others feel it doesn’t work properly?

Great local news station. Thank you for delivering consistent, up to date news and happenings around your coverage area! I enjoy the various news casters and special teams who have been true to their craft for many years. I’m saddened by the career changes of those who have moved on, however, I’m aware every person needs to do what is best for their families and circumstances. The weather team does an exceptional job during weather events as well as daily reporting. Overall, Newswatch 16 is my go to for all content.

Great News Station. I have Directv with being said. I only watch the news on WNEP. Having to watch it on my computer and is very inconvenient, but that’s what I’ve been doing. I love all the anchors and weather people They make the broadcast. If the dispute isn’t settled when my contract is up. I’ll be dropping Directv and I’ve been a customer for almost 20.

Will be OK when I get used to it, but.... Generally I like the new app and find it easy to navigate (and the live stream works so much better on our smart TV). However, the school closings section needs work. Many were listed as “early dismissal,” but no specific times given. I also liked the alternating grey and white backgrounds behind the school names - made it much easier to read. I like the weather feature as it’s included in the new app. Very easy to set up location.

Love WNEP. I look forward every morning to watch the Morning crew! I love Joe’s shenanigans, it makes my day! I love Mindy Tom and the whole gang too! Using the app is the only way I get to watch WNEP so I am so thankful for it. I love the app for any news in my area if I miss your show at any point of the day. I don’t watch the news on my TV anymore, I use this wonderful App. Please keep this app going so the whole team, morning noon or night, to keep my day happy and keep all of us who can’t see you on TV going.

Annoying. When I want to get to the news or weather usually in a hurry, I find it very annoying to have to no choice but watch the slow opening and a greeting. No need to tell me the app I opened and I don’t need a canned greeting! If we can’t have the old app back, please at least get rid of tacky opening video.

Diane Sosi. Well , I must say you News coverage is wonderful. Weather outstanding , and get a chuckle out of Talk Back . Your are all a well organized operation, always smiling and having a Fantastic sense of Humor . Now , you keep putting in the same pet pictures, I had sent in My dog Chelsey in her Red hat , for pet slide show a few times and it was said you received it . WNEP. I am missing WNEP due to the Direct TV situation!! I can not stream due to poor reception in my area!! I have tried the only remaining channel I can get with Direct TV and it just doesn’t fill the void left by loosing WNEP—news, weather and programming sorely missed. Local weather reports and updates are essential in my life!! I am a weather “watcher” and keep up with news local and national……. WNEP —-I need you back in my life!!!

Not happy. I liked the other one better for the weather report all you had to do was click on it and the weather was there . Know you have to click on the bottom and scroll down to find the weather map

Bring back Stormtracker App. This app is beneficial for people who want to look actual news. I prefer just using the stormtracker app for the weather. This one is very hard to navigate for weather. I feel keeping the two separate was a good tactic. I am also getting notifications for news items that I don’t even want; even though I have my notifications turned off for the news portion..odd. Just not a fan of this app and prob going to delete it.

Love. Love the station and all the personalities. They all have great vibes! I love the renovation as well! The only thing I wished was changed is the sound of the news station. It’s been that way for years. Would love to hear something new? I appreciate everyone of you❤️

Appearance. I love WNEP however I wish you would go back to your old appearance of what your app was it was easy to look at and find on the phone and so many things are blue and white and it is hard to pick it out on my phone however the other thing I can’t stand is when I’m watching it on the news on my television the way it’s distracting the lines and everything move around I don’t like it but that’s OK cause we’re getting rid of our cable anyway so I will only have my app and I’ll check it every now and then

The Best. I love watching You & I have for a long time. I will continue to. I think it’s ignorant that the people who criticize you don’t have a clue what your jobs are like. They really should get a life of their own. Most the time the news & weather are right on. I’ve watched Your news because You reported on important events local & worldwide. won’t open. I love my wnep app but since the last update it won’t work. I deleted it and downloaded it again but that didn’t work either 😢

Daily watcher. I enjoy the staff. The morning crew is still my favorite. But my favorite part is the local news that is always important. And joe snedecker his antics are priceless.

Upgrade. Nice upgrade compared to the last app. Less cartoonish and videos don’t seem to have an issue when trying to load.

Let be the news but enjoy the old look. Great news team. Happy to open app several times a day. However I loved loved the old app.

Won’t load.. This app stopped working for me a while ago. I thought maybe the recent update fixed that. No such luck. I uninstalled and reinstalled it and it still doesn’t work. It says it works with iOS 11.0 or higher. I have an iPhone 8 with iOS 11.4.1 and an iPad Mini 4 with iOS 11.4 and the app doesn’t work on either. Please fix this!

My favorite news station. Informative ! The professionals on WNEP are so down to earth as well as kind , loving , and so family oriented!!! I love you guys!!!! Keep doing what you all are doing because it’s working!

Works kinda. I’ve always enjoyed WNEP but this app has problems maybe it’s my phone but I don’t understand why a 30 second video takes 4 mins to buffer and then it has 3 ads in it honestly I don’t mind the first one in the beginning but come on really two more in a 30 second clip. I’m uninstalling this now I might redownload in the future but this app will have to get a serious over haul

Easy to catch up on local news!. Also easy to check weather daily, so a good all-around app.

Zero improvement over old app. Everything about this app is worse than the previous iteration. It has less news stories and more ads. The color choice is odd eschewing the well known yellow and black of the logo. It is bland and disorganized. I can only hope that this release was rushed and that they plan to make improvements quickly. As for the ads, I would be willing to pay a yearly fee for an ad-free experience IF they app improved at least 90%.

Best local station. Don’t change a thing, love WNEP and all newscasters they are not boring, fun to watch and my husband and I enjoy watching. Will admit watching other news channels from PA and NY your station is best.

Time consuming to find actual news not adds. I get that no one really likes change ! However this app really makes no sense . Waiting for it to say good morning or good evening till I can actually navigate through the app is the first stupid feature to this new and improved app . The old app for weather was far better as well . Everything was right there when you opened the app .

Talkback 16. Wish you would do away with this, most people who call in don’t have a clue and to cut down channel 16 and it’s crew is horrible👎 absolutely stupid complaints

News. News watch 16 is the only News station I watch the reporters and weather people are Awesome they work very well together. They do an Amazing job.

Great. Apparently some people shouldn’t have a smartphone if they aren’t smart. You can easily stream by just touching the “watch” button in the bottom right corner. Anyway nice refreshing new look.

Our favorite news and weather station. WNEP channel 26 is our go to station for local and international news and weather. Professional reporting of news and weather is the norm. And at times even entertaining. Love Scott’s Talkback Feedback.

Hate the new app.. If I wanted to have the news on my phone I would have downloaded the 16 news app. I only want the weather but am now forced to have the news with it and to make it worse the weather part of the app it also terrible. It was so easy to check the weather before but now it’s u guess made to be easier so it’s way over complicated. Please bring back the old just weather app.

Big step back. Old app was much easier to find things. Also a big step back with the weather functions. Cannot delete the original default location, and there is no option to use current location for weather info. Radar maps are not interactive at all. Looks like I’m switching back to another app until this gets fixed

good app for local news. wish it had a link to PSBB that was easy to find. (community calendar). i would rather read the weather than watch Schnedeger any day.

Best news. I love WNEP over lived in Pa for 33 years and it’s the best news station I’m he fun you make the weather Joe and and all you do for St Joseph’s is wonderful you all make morning bright keep up the great work

New doesn’t mean better. Please bring back Stormtracker 16. Stormtracker 16, Stormtracker 16. Maybe if I say it 3x like Beetlejuice. The current app does not come close to what you already had for weather. Between the top border, weather key and ads, the radar almost doesn’t exist. Not to mention, the video forecast starts approx 3x before I actually get to see it. By that time, I just close the app and go elsewhere. Weather dept is great! But this app is steps backwards.

Too much clutter. In my opinion, this app is a giant leap backward from the old app. The “greeting” screen just isn’t necessary. The pages are very messy looking. You have to scroll far too much. I miss having an independent weather app as well. The new weather page is quite bad. Overall, I’d say this new app is a cluttered mess. It is a chore, and no longer a viable way to get NEPA news.

Love being able to watch the news even when I’m not home.. WNEP keeps me up to date with the latest news.

Illogical. Logic dictates that if you go through the effort to change something then it should be at least a modicum better. This new app defies that logic. Where is school closures, and how about notifications of closures? C’mon 16.

App problem. If i want to refresh the stories, i have to clear out the app and re-start it.

News app. I liked the old app better. This one is not as easy to get around I just like the old one and I unfortunately deleted it.

Missing features from old app.. I prefer the old app, there was nothing wrong with it. But considering that I cannot live stream the news anymore from WNEP with this app, I will have to switch to watching WBRE or FOX 56 while at work, I can stream the news with their apps. Not to mention that the notification system isn’t as comparable to the previous one with school closings, traffic, etc. once these basic functions are restored, I will continue watching WNEP once again.

Weather and news. You give me the. News and weather and I love the weather i love knowing what’s going on for the week ahead you guys do that amazing. I love WNEP.

The sound. The only reason why I don’t want to watch the election on your channel is because of the background you play. It’s very distracting. Please change it. Thank you!

APP Is Ok, News Is Lacking. Their app works ok, it’s too fancy for its own good. But they need to cover more news and cover it in detail. Simple saying there was an accident or crime with no specific information is sloppy and fly over reporting. They need to get back to their roots and actually chase stories and do some honest work while reporting the news. Get the details, show names and faces, make it more than just “ something happened “ type of reporting.

Glitching. App restarts playing videos. The old app would play highlight real or replay earlier recording, when news was not on concurrently. Just list individual stories now.

Great site. Enjoy this app because I can read the Scranton news anywhere and keep up to date on everything .

My HOME News station , in fact I grew up with WNEP !. I love WNEP and everyone there as well , always makes me happy when I come home to put on my news station… Keep up the terrific job !!

LOVE CHANNEL 16!. WNEP is the only local channel that I watch. I used to channel surf other local channels, but I find WNEP to be accurate, up to date, and enjoy all the announcers. I especially enjoy Kurt Aaron and Ranger, and Scott Schaefer. Thank you for keeping us all informed!

WNEP website. I don’t like the fact that when you click “ watch” when the news starts Live, there’s no sound. You then click on play and a 30 second ad starts and you eventually miss the first minute or two of the live news. The old version of the web was much user friendly.

Layout. Don’t think the layout of the app is easy to follow. Seems like they just threw it together. Prefer the old app. As with everything the more you use it, it may make more sense......

The New App. Omg , Why . As a contractor you messed my days up . Ty weather , live broadcast!! And to be honest, Who put this thing together !! Every time you try new - try something else . I’m sorry it’s just not right . Good luck Michael T

New App. Old app was much more user friendly- can’t readily find school delays/closings on new one. But no problem- fortunately I can still use WBRE’s to find them.

Up to date news. WNEP always stays current with their news and weather

New app. Still trying to get used to it. I totally enjoy it when it’s properly working and not cutting in and out.

Shapiro. This Governor needs to do more for seniors and veterans! The government’s in Pa need to stop providing Narcan to druggies! Nobody started them on drugs, they made that decision on their own! It isn’t taxpayers responsibility to keep them alive! And it’s time to lower the gas tax! Shapiro as far as I’m concerned is a low life commie! And since I think you are part of the liberal news, you probably won’t post my comment?

WNEP. Great news, just wish it was like before when you can make the screen bigger by turning your phone sideways. But it is the only news station I watch. Great in the morning and just as good in the evening.

Love WNEP hate the app. Love this station and it is my preferred choice for local news, but this app is terrible. Do better. Frequent crashes and disconnect from paired devices. The ads, my god please get some regulation of the volume between the broadcast and the ads a little more variety. Nothing makes me hate this app more than watching the same 3 ads back to back to back every break.
