App update broke all functionality!. I’ve been using this app for the past 6 months on an iPhone SE to monitor my sons insulin pump. I updated the app tonight because an update was available and it now only displays a page that says “your mobile device or operating system is not currently supported.” This iPhone is running the same iOS 15.5 updates that are available on the newest phones! There is no technical reason this device can’t run the app that it ran yesterday, and there is not a way to downgrade. Please fix this! UPDATE 7/15: The developer says my two options to fix this broken update are to either wait an undefined amount of time and hope they support my phone (a phone that runs the very newest iOS software!), or go spend $600 on a new phone. Unacceptable! You broke an app that was working perfectly.

Love it! One request please. So after reading the reviews, and the response from the developer I downloaded. I noted that at least one user suggestion was already in effect. Mind blown! I can see my insulin on board without looking at my pump! I’m hoping there is a widget to be able to view directly on my Home Screen but more importantly I beg of you to allow this pump to connect directly to a smart watch also. This will allow us end users to not have to cart our phones around with us. As an emergency room tech I can’t always have my phone with me and I can’t always access my pump due to today’s PPE needs but I still need to know what’s going on. I can’t wait to show this to the other T1 I work with. What is the possibility of this app info being accessed remotely or shared with approved individuals? This would allow the tslim pump to share info with the phone and for the app to share with family while allowing the second communication port on the Dexcom transmitter to connect directly to a watch!!!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

5 stars when it works. Unfortunately, although the current settings update, it often doesn’t update the graph making the viewing of trends impossible. (Fortunately the dexcom app still works to view CGM trends.) Additionally, it would be great if there was an easy way to view recent bolus history on this app (especially since the interface for viewing bolus history on the pump requires too many button pushes and doesn’t display the information in a convenient way; the Medtronic pump has a better interface for viewing bolus history). Also, although the graph for basal rates is helpful (when it loads, which it often doesn’t as noted above), but it would be nice to be able to see what the actual rates are without needed to log into the web portal.

Excellent first version …. For a new app, I find this one to be most useful and functional. It is nice, in particular to be able to see bolus/basal information at the same time you see CGM data over the past 24 hours. There are 3 added features I would like to see: the first should be easy, but the second two are not as easy because they will require changes not only to the app but to the pump software as well. 1. There seems to be no axis labeling on the vertical CGM reading axis. At the very least, we should axis numbers at the low and high alarm points and at least tic marks every 50 mg/dL. 2.It would be nice to be able to confirm alarms and warnings on the app and have them be communicated back to the pump. While this will require software changes on the pump, the ability to discretely confirm an alarm on the phone would be most useful. 3. On both the app and on the pump, I would like more flexibility in setting alarms to vibrate. In particular, if I am in church, at the opera, attending a wedding or a funeral, I ABSOLUTELY DO NOT WANT an audible alarm to disrupt the proceedings. I would much prefer a vibrating alarm, that I could discretely handle, ever for the most urgent alarm. Overall, t:Connect is a useful and functional app that should only get better in the future. John

Modern diabetes options finally. Great first iteration of this app. Overall happy with it and being able to see at a glance what my pump is doing. Some things that need to be added/fixed. 1.) The control iq symbol should be displayed top left of the graph like on the pump. Currently you have to swipe down to see if it’s active, on etc. 2.) should be able to control the pump from the app for clearing notifications at minium but long term for bolusing, adjusting settings etc. 3.) Apple Watch support!!! We need complications on the Apple Watch so we can see at a glance what our pump is doing but also control it from the watch and clear notifications etc. 4.) Apple health support should be supported already. It’s a couple of checkboxes in Xcode when writing the app and it’s a big fail that it’s not supported already. I should be able to write all the carb, blood glucose and insulin data that the app already knows about into health so I can then use it in my other apps as I see fit. It’s my data give me access to it. 5.) widget support so we can quickly swipe down on the iphone and see at a glance what the pump is doing. Overall great start from the only diabetes company willing to push common technology into the type 1 space.

Great app... But.... I love this app. Note you can not control your pump, only monitor it. I believe there may be a bug that appeared with iOS 14.x. The BG graph and basal value on the graph stop showing up at random times for hours to days, and then start up again. There still is communication with the pump because the current BG value and current basal rate still show and update as they should. Another thing. when you scroll down below the graph there are many values listed but the basal setting for the profile isn’t shown. Everything else seems to be shown. A great app when it works like it did before the newest 14.x IOS versions appeared. I hope they fix it soon. And of course I wish I could control the pump through the app. Maybe in future versions? 🙂

Issues with Tandem t:connect mobile app - after recent upgrade to v2.7. Following a recent app upgrade to v2.7 (after holding off for a few weeks), I immediately noticed several negative app behavior changes: More frequent interruptions / gaps of displayed 24-hour BG and dosing history, requiring app close and reopen to resolve issue short-term (adverse app behavior returns after this corrective action - multiple times per day). Greater app stability, reliability, and expected capabilities is much preferred over T1D patient “babysitting” an unstable app. Prior to this app upgrade, I was able to touch a dosing icon (sun shape or teardrop) on the 24-hour history display - to display details on that dosing. This simple and useful feature no longer works after the app upgrade. Even after an iPhone power off and reboot. Really? Estimated release date of next bug-fix app version? Will fixes to issues stated above be included in this next released bug-fix version? How can I easily revert to the prior app version v2.6.2 (had lesser issues but was relatively more stable), preferably without having to re-enter t:connect credentials and other first-time app setup / config info again? Mobile device: Apple iPhone X OS: iOS 16.6.1

Love the new Bolus via smartphone feature….. The new 7.6 Tandem firmware upgrades and this app are a MUST HAVE! I no longer have to expose my belly trying to find my pump to do a correction or food bolus. So awesome!!! FW 7.6 also helps large guys like me (>220lbs) with >25 unit corrections… However the application has the same error that has been reported since it was first published. The BATTERY STATUS is a joke. It is stuck at “OK” even after given notice of a last transmitter session…. Another feature I keep asking is for is the trend arrows to show the difference from the previous reading, rate, slope or first derivative! I have to use SugarMate to get this SUPER helpful value for better correction determinations. GO UNICORNS!!!

Cool potential feature. Extremely limited implementation. Mostly lame.. Sure, it’s neat to be able to give yourself a bolus from your phone, but don’t be fooled, you’ll still be FORCED to interact with your pump more often than not. For one thing, you can’t do square or combo boluses via the phone. You can’t set temp rates or different activity profiles. Want to suspend your pump for a bit? NOPE! Can’t do that with the phone. But surely you can at least clear those annoying (and frequently unnecessary) pump alerts (e.g. “high glucose entered, please check blood sugar”) with your phone, right?! NOPE!! Now, if all those features are rolling out soon, then I’ll be happy to change my review as soon as they do. But until then, this is a neat feature with great potential and pretty lamely limited implementation.

Started crashing on launch several days after iOS 16. The app had worked for several days after upgrading to iOS 16. However, in the last day or so, the app has begun crashing on every launch. Restarting the phone & force-quitting the app have not helped, either. So now I can’t use the app at all on my phone. When the app used to work just fine on iOS 16 and then suddenly stops working with no apparent change to the operating system, it feels like Tandem broke the app intentionally using a server-side switch but I can’t come up with an plausible reason for doing so. I understand there are risks associated with initiating boluses on an untested operating system, so I am willing to tolerate being locked out of that functionality. As a software engineer, I still think it’s a dumb policy, but there’s nothing I can do about it. That said, if Tandem is going to continue with this policy, they really need to reduce the amount of time between operating system update and getting the software reviewed & approved. Lengthy delays put users at risk of becoming victims of security vulnerabilities that have already been fixed. Recommending users turn off auto-update functionality is a bad policy for users and this decision should be reversed.

Good in theory, but recently causing serious battery drain. With the last several updates, this app seems to be causing a major battery drain on the pump itself. It’s really striking. My pump will be fully charged in the morning, and an hour later will have dropped by 20%. Also sometime the app will appear glitchy, stuck in a refresh loop with “refreshing” flickering repeatedly at the top of the screen. Frequently upon opening the app, it will display a full screen notification describing the remote bolus feature, requiring the user to click “done” to move on, as though it’s my first time opening the app. Very concerning. Hopefully this gets resolved soon. I have already deleted and reinstalled the app once; just tried that again so hopefully it makes a difference.

When it works, it’s great. Generally, I love this app. I love that I can bolus from my phone without dealing with my pump. However, it needs work. Anytime your phone’s battery dies, you have to delete and reinstall the app, because it will refuse to reconnect with your pump. Every time you go to give a bolus and your BG isn’t at 115 (if you’re using control IQ) it gives you a pop-up either asking to add a correction or letting you know the bolus will be reduced to adjust to your BG. I don’t need a pop up for that. I do not need to acknowledge that every time I give insulin. Give me a button to add a correction and leave a permanent note on the page that boluses will be changed based on BG when you push that button. Otherwise, leave me alone! Let me do my diabetes!

OK, Needs Ext Bolus/Activity Capability. generally decent app, great to have when i’m wearing a dress/skirt and want to be discreet about my dosing and need a straightforward bolus. that being said, please add the extended bolus feature to this app! i use the extended bolus feature on my pump constantly, it’s a necessity because of how my diabetes is (can’t bolus too much all at once, but still need enough insulin to cover my carbs). i’d love to be able to be truly independent of my pump by using my phone. i’m sure (i hope) with the mobi coming out, the extended bolus/activity features will become integrated soon. at the end of the day, probably 99% of the time, i will use my pump to dose/check my insulin and glucose levels. if this app could become truly equivalent to the user experience of a tslim pump, maybe using the t:connect mobile app would become second nature to me. but not yet—so looking forward to future updates. thanks devs for all you’ve done so far, though, it’s insane that this capability exists now. you’ve done a fantastic service to us diabetics and i think being more realistic with our expectations can be quite a good thing — just use your pump if you want every single feature you’re accustomed to ! cheers to the ios17 compatibility

Love the display of Important Info. This is a pretty great app. I’m overall very happy with its features and the Information displayed. It’s much easier to find important data by looking at the app than searching through my pump settings. One thing that I have an issue with though is that it keeps asking me to “Verify the time on your pump” almost constantly during the day. Even after getting it down to the closest second possible, it still says the time on my pump doesn’t match the time on my phone. I think I get about 30+ notifications for this per day. So if that could be fixed, it would be the perfect app!

Pretty good, but alerts are mostly irrelevant. I really appreciate being able to bolus and check my CGM reading from my phone. The alerts need some refinement. I keep getting a “please verify the time on your pump” alert when the time is just off by a few minutes. It’s so noisy that I disable alerts from the app and only enable them when I’m riding a bike and am willing to deal with these annoying time alerts in order to get blood glucose alerts, which is what I actually want. Even then, it is very distracting to get all these time alerts. And I’m not going to regularly dig into my pump’s settings to update the time by a few minutes. A much better approach would be to have the app update the pump’s time automatically and not show an alert for this.

love this app!. I love being able to use my phone to keep track of my blood glucose and pump and CGM status. One suggestion for Tandem and the app developer: please add a time and date of last infusion site change; it would be more convenient than having to look at the pump history. Since my last review, I still like the app and would not want to be without it, but it’s not working right; I am having issues with not seeing the blood glucose graph or bolus tracking at times, and sometimes I see a portion of the app with a gray background. I close the app and reopen it, and sometimes it fixes it but not always. I’ve tried restarting my phone and that doesn’t help. Since my last review, still love the app, but it crashes intermittently throughout the day, causing me have to restart it. Today, it’s not been opening correctly, either a delay in starting or restarts in the mode where I have to click I Agree, then it circles, won’t open and I have to restart it again. It’s getting frustrating. Please fix it, thanks

t:connect pros and cons. What I like: Yes, I can now bolus from my smartphone and the info provided on the state of affairs is good. What I don’t like: t:connect seems to easily lose connection to the G6 transmiter unlike the Dexcom G6 App which rarely does (operates concurrently with t:connect). t:connect seems to cause battery life to suffer on my iPhone 12. The glucose value is often displayed on the dashboard as the first digit of the value followed by three dots, i.e. “1…” and rather than try to figure it out from the graph I go to the Decvom G6 app for a nice big display of my current value and unobstructed trend. If I had to choose I’d take the Dexcom App for good connectivity & value display and t:connect for remote bolus, however, t:connect bolus access is far too tedious to use easily…to many security layers. All in all it’s ok but still room for improvement.

Great app, widget/watch possible?. I really like using this app, even more than my Dexcom app. I like the clear graph display, the percentage in target, and all of the information it gives me on the bottom without having to pull out my pump to look. I wonder if there is a possibility to have a widget for the iPhone where I can put my graph right on my Home Screen? Also incorporating the app into the Apple Watch is a feature I would use daily. Those would be the only changes I would make. I noticed the other reviews about battery life on the phone and when I checked how much battery my t connect is using, it shows 5%. This is really great, it looks like that issue has been resolved.

Love it. I have been pumping for over 20 years and have been waiting for us to be able to control our pumps with our cell phones. I am happy the day is finally here. Your app is a great start! I used to use the Spike app when I was on a different pump. What that app had that this one doesn’t , is it allowed you to see carbs on board, and it you were low, suggested the amount of carbs you would need to bring your low up, based on the settings in your pump. This prevented those crazy rebound highs you get from over correcting. Also, it would be nice to clear pump alarms from the phone. Sometimes the ladies have our pumps in unreachable areas while wearing dresses etc. The last thing I would like to see is a memo box to add notes to the doctor. Maybe with the amount of carbs I took for a low, or site change, infusion set/ new insulin etc. Again, I love this app! Thank you so much for all your hard work giving it to us! 👍

I want to like it…. I like the app layout and the ease with which you can scroll back and see blood glucose levels throughout the day. However, my information rarely appears. The app shows me my current blood glucose, but has large gaps of information throughout the day. Sometimes, it shows me my glucose level and tells me I’m disconnected at the same time. I reached out to customer service and they told me to make sure the Bluetooth was connected, it was. They told me to delete app and reinstall, which I did, and it still doesn’t work. Then they reassured me that the data was there on their end, so I didn’t need to worry. Well, I still can’t see it. My dexcom app has all of the data present on its mobile app, so I don’t think it’s a connectivity issue. I’m running a new iPhone and I always have my phone in the pocket next to my pump.

Doesn’t connect to widgets / iOS 16 comparability issue. Overall, love this app. The data is super clear and does a decent job staying connected. Thanks for speedy iOS comparability outdated! What would make it a 5: - leverage connections to widgets for better BG visibility (I end up using dexcom more than this app because of easy widget access) - add ability to clear alarms via app (this feature would allow my to wear my pump more discretely as I wouldn’t have to have easy access to the screen at all) - add ability to add notes to make conversations with doctors easier. For example, tag that I forgot to bolus, started to exercise, or have keystones at specific times. Then the data is much richer!

Great job on the first vision of the app. After all I agree with John it’s really excellent first version off the app. I am excited to look forward to any upcoming improvements. I decided on the X2 pump because there are always updates available therefore you not constantly need to get a new pump! Depending on where you wear your pump it’s really helpful to use your cell instead of getting the pump out! On the suggestion John made I totally agree! Also it would be nice to have an option to share your data with a loved one like Dexcom offers! I do understand that adjustment should be made on the pump itself but I would love to see if you can consider the option to make in the future more pump control and adjustment on your cell! Reason I mentioned it is because I am a PD dialysis potions I sometimes wear my punt on my thighs and I always need to use the restroom to make adjustments or disable alarms. But I am happy with the first version of the app !!! Thank you

Notation option. Please add an option to add notes to the boluses and/or sugar changes. Being able to click on the “liquid drop” icon that shows how much was delivered and add a message or note would be a huge help to the user and the doctor. My doctor just did an adjustment to my bolus and I have had spikes and drops so I would think adding a note option to the “droplets” would allow the doctor and/or patient to see the reason for the dosage and or change in rate. There would be no reason to keep a separate record or forget what caused something the next time the doctor sees the charts, they will see the reason with the graph notes. I just had my A1C test and 5.6 is the best I have ever had in the 36 years of being a diabetic! I am glad I switched to the T2 pump and can’t wait to see what gets added next! I have never written a review so I hope this makes sense. Thank you Tandem for having an amazing system that has made my life even better!

Great Pump and Sensor. Goodbye to MEDTRONIC. No more traveling down the interstate at 80 miles an hour with the pump, bringing bells and complaining that it needs to be calibrated. In fact, the only time I have to calibrate this pump is when I change the sensor which last by the way, 10 days not seven, as in the old system. We still have to deal with a three day limit on insulin cartridges, but you can stretch that to four days within reason. The infusion sets are varied and I use two - one with a short tube that goes in very easy and the other one with a longer tube that stretches maybe 3 feet. The 3 foot one is harder to install, but gives you more flexibility in the morning when you’re preparing for work. Short one is much easier to install and go in but the leash is very short and you eventually pull it off of whatever counter you placed it while you’re getting ready. I do love the interface with my iPhone and sometimes I can get 100% in range on a single day. I love how it will stop my insulin when it goes too low, or increase it when I’m not paying attention and bulosing for what I eat.

Very nice display of relevant information. Easy to download & setup. The data is nicely laid out and has a similar feel & look to the pump screen. It would nice to include a TIR value (past 24hrs) but recognize this is not directly shown on online app either as one has to choose a time frame and look for the percentage on the CGM tab. ————-added 29jul————— I also like the simplicity of the app and hope it does not become too encumbered with more features. This app is much easier to visualize the automatic boluses amount and timing. Prior to this app I could find this information on the pump but it several menus away. It would also be nice to have icons (on BG line) for the start/stop times for the sleep or exercise activities. I find myself trying to remember when I had it running and what happened with my BG. Overall, great job! So much better and very pleasing to the eye as compared to Dexcom’s app.

Improvements Please. I have been using this app and from what I can tell it is mostly a waste, unfortunately. Here are some issues: 1- you cannot adjust the pump from your app. I understand the potential issues with this considering it is a medical device and all. However, it would be great to have a pin or something I could input to pump insulin from my phone. This could create that confirmation attribute that is needed to prevent accidents. The pump is almost annoying to pull out every time I need insulin. 2-why on earth can I not remove notifications from my app. What is the purpose of this app if I can’t even remove the notifications that alert. Many types just say remove from pump. That would be fine except it kills my battery to clear these things. 3-keep it from KILLING MY PUMP BATTERY! What I mean by this is simple: because of the lack of interface on the app, I must interact with my pump physically which creates screen time and drains the battery. I can do without a phone…a pump not as much. This app is only good for sharing. I’m not all that concerned on the dr seeing something that me - a diabetic of 33 years (pump for 17)- won’t see and adjust before our next meeting. What I need is freedom and independence from the physical touch. I will almost definitely delete this thing soon if nothing changes…

Remote bolus. I got my T-slim less than a week before the upgrade that allows remote bolus. I was diagnosed in 1984. This pump with the Dexcom is insane. I would really like if the bolus was delivered faster. Also, it should show the progress of the bolus by showing how much insulin is left to deliver and the IOB should also change in real time. Finally, I truly feel in control of my blood sugar. Although I won’t know for a while, I’m sure this system will cut two points off my A1C. Another small complaint is that the pump clip should Be upside down and hinged. This way you could just pivot the pump and adjust settings without having to rip it off your belt only to have to struggle it back on in ten seconds. Thank you

Love this!. I’ve had T1D for 45 years and get excited every time new technology comes out to more easily manage my diabetes. I switched to Tandem a little over a year ago after having used another brand insulin pump for over 15 years. Tandem’s focus on making diabetes management easier sets them apart from the rest. This app is in that same vein. It gives me all of the information that I would get if looking at the pump display itself - except in an app on the phone. Brilliant. When controlling the pump from the app becomes available that will be yet another game changer. The only thing I’d love to see in this app is a dictionary of sorts to explain the visuals along the X axis. Aside from that, thank you Tandem! Your software and thoughtful design makes treating a disease easier to manage.

Kills My Battery Life. I’ve used this app on two phones, a brand new SE 3rd Gen and a handmedown iPhone 11 Pro. On both it drained a ton of battery life, especially the SE, I could only get through half a day of minor phone use (texting, a bit of safari, weather, etc) without it dying. I actually sent the phone back to Apple, thinking there was a problem, but they didn’t find one. Later it occurred to me to delete the T connect app and see what happened, problem solved! And I’ve had similar but not as extreme battery life issues with the iPhone 11 Pro, which also went away upon deleting the app. It’s a bummer because I love what the app does, the more detailed view of all the bolus and basal rate changes throughout the day, and the easy upload to the doctor’s office.

usually awesome, but 2/13 update broke it :/. been using this app for a few years now and find it very useful. being able to see the basal changes visually is awesome. also the TIR at a glance. normally i have no issues but since the last update there's been problems that make the app sort of unusable: - the cgm data keeps getting wiped. app/phone restart don't help. (reload scenario seems random to me.) - app frequently loses BT connection to pump - new crashes (not consistent) - i haven't updated my pump recently but its battery seems to be draining faster. i'm not sure how this could be related to the app update but saw other people had seen this as well so thought it worth mentioning. iPhone SE 3rd gen iOS 16.6.1 Running app version 2.7 Pump running v7.6.0.1 Using Dexcom G6 New Tx started last week as a side, i used extended bolus very frequently so it would be really awesome if that was an option in the app as well. i know you guys are probably working to get these issues fixed asap (thank you!) so i'll be sure to update this review once that happens. just wanted to get y'all some feedback.

Overall good, one small really annoying "bug". I've spent several minutes trying to discretely post this "bug" somewhere but not sure where to so I guess it's going in a review. Like I said everything works great but I have notifications turned on and get constant notifications that my pump and phone don't have the same time even though it's just one minute off. Literally impossible to get them perfectly in sync. Please add some sort of buffer for this warning, like if it's off by more than 10 min for example, so when I see a notification I know it will actually be one I care about seeing instead of getting flooded with alerts my pump's time is 30 seconds off from my phone.

Crashes when I open it and kills phone battery. I had deleted the app a couple months ago because of the insane amount of battery it drained on my phone, and because I couldn’t even get the app to work. The app crashes and closes out completely a couple seconds after opening it. I redownloaded the app a week ago, and it worked for a couple days and didn’t drain my battery like before. A couple more days, though and I am having the same issues that I had the first time I downloaded the app. Deleting because my phone can’t handle that much battery drain from an app that won’t even stay open. It’s a shame too because I found the app very useful when it was working for those couple days.

Fantastic app, questionable battery. This app does a great job visualizing your CGM and insulin data. The only problem I’ve run into is that this app seems to stay always on in the background and absolutely kill my battery life. I even turned off background app refresh and it still finds a way to stay on almost 24/7. The iOS battery settings reports that 25% of my battery is used by t:connect. I’ve also switched phones and both report the same battery usage. I think this has to do with my pump being constantly connected through standard bluetooth, my dexcom uses some sort of low energy Bluetooth so it doesn’t waste battery. I’ve noticed that in the iOS bluetooth settings it says the dexcom transmitter is not connected between BG reports but the tslim is always shown as connected. I would love to get in contact with tandem about troubleshooting this because this app is incredibly useful even with the battery issues. If this battery issue gets fixed this app is completely perfect!

A couple niggly little issues. 1) I wear the phone and the pump almost next to each other on their own belt. Very often, I pull the phone to check the reading and it says the app is not reading the pump. Hold it directly in front of the pump and it picks it up. Just a nuisance of extra moves. 2). Sometimes, like several times a week, it will lose the history on the graph. I rely on the graph to see the trends and the percentage in range. Sometimes it will pick it up a few hours later, sometimes not until the clock cycles. iPhone 13 mini running iOS 17.1.2. Has been like this through a number of OS iterations All in all, very pleased with the results in my control and my A1c.

At first. I loved this app. Very informative. I was actually happy that I could see all the information on it. But. Then came the “lost connection make sure phone and pump are near each other” okay whatever. No biggie I suppose. Maybe it was close at that time. Even thought I had my phone on my night stand. Then I got more alerts like this. I’m like wth, my phone and pump are right beside of each other. Guess what? Now it shows they need to be near each other again. My pump on my shirt. It’s there with a clip so it’s not going anywhere. And as you see, my phone is in my hands. So they are near each other. These things are always near each other. Right now it’s telling me that my pump has lost connection over a day! This app to me is trash. It’s a good thing I have the other app that alerts you if my blood sugar goes to high or low. Because this app, is useless!

Changed my life. I absolutely LOVE the tconnect app. Since they updated the pump to be able to give insulin through the app, managing my diabetes is easier than ever! One thing that was hard for me was, it was hard to wear a dress with the pump since you can’t hook it on any pants, and if you wear shorts under, you still have to lift the dress to access the pump. Now- I can wear any dress and if I need to see my blood sugar, or give insulin, I just pull out my phone. My second favorite thing about this app is that it automatically uploads your data to tconnect so you don’t need to worry about uploading your pump for your doc! Seriously if you’re diabetic, I HIGHLY recommend the Tslim pump with the Dexcom. Your life will be changed for the better ❤️

Great App, A Couple Suggestions. I think the recent enhancement to allow bolus from the app is great, but I have a few suggestions to make this app work even better: 1. On the tandem pump when entering bolus carbs, it acts like a calculator where you can add multiple carb numbers together. It would be nice to add this feature to the app. 2. I should be able to dismiss alerts from the app and not have to do it directly on the pump. 3. The app allows you to look back 24 hours at past glucose, bolus, and Control-IQ numbers. It would be nice if this could be made configurable to allow longer timeframes. 4. If I accidentally hit the bolus button, but don’t enter a bolus, it still places a “star” on the graph with my blood glucose reading, which then blocks several data points on both sides of that reading. It shouldn’t place a “star” unless I actually enter a bolus.

Latest app update is a WRECK. This app used to be so consistent, it was better at displaying current CGM data than even my CGM’s own widget was (Dexcom G6). As of the last update, however, it’s a wreck. It’s not loading history, or doing it sporadically, and trying to close and relaunch makes it worse not better—deleted what was there and often still does not reload in any reasonable time frame. If I give up, move on, then come back much much later it has (usually) reloaded history but often not the most recent 3 hours. It’s also now crashing on a regular basis when before that was extremely rare. Thankfully bolus from app still works, but if it won’t pull current CGM reading it can’t do correction bolus calculations. Every once in a while the bolus function disappears so i must relaunch to get it back. This glitch has existed for a long time, ever since they rolled out that capability. But it was rare and behind this latest update there app was otherwise very reliable. Now it’s bordering on worse than useless. This release was NOT ready. Way, WAY too buggy. There’s no way it was tested adequately before release. Love this pump and—until now—it’s app. Please give me back my good, solid, frustration-free experience!!

Usually great but last update buggy. Edit: Dropping from three stars to one star. A week later and I woke up to my pump no longer connected to my Dexcom or phone and it has Bluetooth settings deactivated with no ability to even enter that menu. I was relying on control iq overnight for lows while living alone. This is very concerning. I don’t understand why tandem isn’t communicating with their patients proactively. I shouldn’t have to come to the App Store reviews to see other people having the same problem. —- Usually great but the last update is causing my blood sugar dot graph to disappear. Force closing app then refreshing usually makes it better. Graph is normal on pump. Also destroying battery. Went through 45% of pump battery today rather than normal 10-15. Again, app is usually stable but something is wrong atm. iPhone 13mini iOS 17.3.1.

iPhone 14 Bugs!. I just recently upgraded to the iPhone 14. The app no longer syncs pump data with the online portal. The dots show up as gray in the app. I keep the app open in the background with no luck. When i go to the account options in settings, it says i’m not signed in. When i sign back in, reconnect my pump via bluetooth and sync pump data, the dots still show up as gray and the data still doesn’t sync online! When you check the Profile menu in settings, it says i’m not signed in again… Additionally, the new bolus feature dialog box always shows up every time i open the app, no matter how many times i hit dismiss. FINALLY, there is a huge problem with the pump connecting with t:connect and battery. I noticed that the t:connect app when paired with my pump via bluetooth has been (on the most recent update) draining my battery very very quickly. My pump lasts less than 24 hours on battery when connected to the tconnect app!! One night i fell asleep and my pump died in the middle of the night causing my BG to skyrocket. Once i disconnected the app from the pump, I no longer had this problem. Please fix these issues. I will not use the app until these issues are fixed.

Well-designed app. Pleased to see the app designers really paid attention to accessibility details, such as info hierarchy, decent contrast, good responsive margins for touch screen accuracy when manual dexterity is compromised (many of us have finger stick callouses or have lost a bit of sensation), excellent size of most important numbers and key graphics (such as the trend arrow). Unfortunately, there are a ton of design differences between the app and the pump screen—and I regularly use both viewing surfaces. So my cognitive load is burdened by having to learn and switch where to direct my eyes and my fingers—from location of info, to size of type and line thickness, to icons. Of course the designers of the 2 distinct but interrelated products had different aspect ratios, different real estate, different software architecture and platforms and design norms. Please work to align all aspects of your multi component partial closed loop system. Because your job is to make my diabetes self-care high quality, effective, efficient, and less burdensome. Thank you for a solid app. And Control IQ is impressive.

5 stars - until recently. This app does (did) everything I want it to. No issues, no complaints. Just recently they added a note not to upgrade to IOS 16 or you would lose bolus from phone feature. I turned off automatic updates and held out as long as I could. Like many people, I use my cell phone for work. Like many companies, my employer uses security software on our phones to make sure they are safe to connect to corporate resources. They required me to update for security patches. Finally I was forced to choose between using my phone for work and ability to bolus from phone. So, I have no more bolus from phone. I know this is a new feature, and not a necessity, but I really miss it. IOS 16 has been out for some time. I’m sure as a developer Tandem had early access to it. How long before this issue is resolved?

Unreliable. I have been using a tandem pump for 4.5 years and this app is terrible. If I read an article on my brand new iPhone the app goes blank and I lose the information from the previous 24 hours. And they want me to use this app to deliver insulin? Sometimes it just crashes as soon as I open it in the morning to look at my blood sugar. The screen disappears and the phone goes back to the menu and all the previous information is gone. Thankfully the Dexcom app has the blood sugar reading, but it doesn’t track insulin delivery levels. I hope they fix it but I am not optimistic about that, since I have called them multiple times and they know exactly what I am talking about but offer no permanent fix. It’s very frustrating. I depend on good data dealing with type 1 diabetes.

Keeps closing. I’ve had this app several years now. Since updating to mobile bolus option I’ve hadnothing but troubles. It will not stay running. When I open the app it automatically closes out. I’ve tried rebooting my phone and closing reopening the app. It comes down to having to uninstall and reinstall the app, here lately almost once a week. It’s done it on last 2-3 phone software updates as well. I’ve not updated my phone and updated, makes no difference. Back in August when it did this it was not showing as running in the back ground but was draining my phone. My phone was so hot it hurt to hold it. When I opened settings to see what was draining it, this app was using 80% of my battery, but not showing as running in background. I went from 100% to 30% in 45 minutes with no other apps running. After uninstalling app my phone was normal again. Last time I talked to tandem in august they said nothing wrong with app. Well here it is April and I’ve uninstalled and installed several times and went without the app for periods of time hoping maybe the glitch would be fixed. To my surprise, it’s not. It’s been doing same thing for last 2 days, finally took back off my phone this morning. I’m beyond frustrated. I was so excited when the mobile bolus option finally came out. Just wish I could use it for more than a week (if that) at a time. Without having to go through the process of uninstalling/reinstalling and having to repair my pump every time.

Love this app, but it needs.... I love this app, which is allowing me to control my blood glucose much better and with Greater convenience. However, it has a very irritating oversight. Operations through the app don't reset the pump's 12-hour timer, and the pump keeps waking me up in the middle of the night. I'm sure I'll figure out a workaround, but it hasn't happened yet. I also have two feature requests. I'm amazed that the dashboard doesn't tell us when the last load occurred. With that information, I would reliably change infusion sets on schedule. And the little "splash" symbols representing SGs when boluses were given make it impossible to see what the SG curve is doing in the last 20 minutes or so. I'd like finger pressure to make those disappear, showing the whole curve. Still, these are minor things in a very helpful app. I hope you'll fix these and motivate me to give you the five stars that your idea for this great app deserves.

It doesn’t give transmitter life.. Do not trust this app to tell you what life your Dexcom transmitter has left. On more than one occasion I have replaced the sensor, and then been notified a few days later that the transmitter needs to be replaced. If I had a way to know how much time had expired, then I would replace both at the same time. Which would save me time and the cost of having to replace a brand new sensor. There is nothing on the pump or the app which gives you this information, which means that you have to run it concurrently with the Dexcom app. All the while eating up your phone battery and giving you multiple warnings from multiple apps and devices. I was told by the Tandem trainer not to bother with the Dexcom app as everything needed to be done from the pump. I think the company needs to straighten it out, and train the trainers as well. What a waste of time, effort and money.

Great except for loading the insulin!. I’ve had the T-Slim for nearly a year and have found it very helpful in avoiding the many highs and lows of using the “pen” delivery method (with a CGM). However, the method of filling the T-Slim cartridge with insulin can be very difficult and frustrating as the needle placement is hit or miss and must enter an extremely small port that cannot even be seen from the outside. I understand it’s a common complaint that continues to be ignored by the manufacturer. Hopefully they will pay attention and come out with a redesign soon! UPDATE: I received a reply from Tandem suggesting that I purchase an aftermarket device (which only has a 3.5 rating as it is still hit or miss in aligning the needle) to try to minimize the problem with their poorly designed cartridge fill port. I’ve got a better idea. How about redesigning the cartridge so we are able to properly and easily fill it.

Unbelievably helpful. I’m in a slightly different situation. My husband has Alzheimer’s and as expected his abilities are decreasing. Since I am with him almost 24/7 I have the t:slim app and Dexcom connected to my phone. It is easy to see what his BG is doing because he is getting to the point he can’t easily read the pump screen. The app allows me to see when/how much insulin he has taken. For safety’s sake his max bolus is set at 6 and he doesn’t usually try to take an additional bolus too early. I really want him to be able to use the pump as long as possible rather than go to MDI. He’s had T1 for over 50 years and we’ve taken advantage of all the new technology. Hooray for Tandem!!

This app was poorly designed. First, the app will not work with iOS 16. iOS 16 should not have been a surprise. Why didn’t Tandem’s developers prepare so that people that want to upgrade their phones would be able to? Second, the app does not perform all of the pumps functions. For instance, the app allows you to deliver a bolus, but it does not allow you to deliver an extended bolus. Tandem should have included all of the important functionality when they released this app. Instead of the extremely limited functionality that they included in the app, they should have had the app display exactly what is displayed on the pump screen and provide buttons that mimic what is on the pump. Not including the ability to do an extended bolus is really a serious design flaw. Third, the chart displaying Dexcom data is terrific, I love the way that it shows basal rates and boluses, but it would be far better and more useful if it showed more than just 24 hours. Tandem should consider hiring diabetic people to participate in the design and development process of the app and pump features, and also have diabetics try the features before releasing such a poor app. I am a diabetic using the t:slim X2 pump, and I am also a Tandem shareholder. The remote bolus feature and app are a real disappointment.

Great app!. I just received my first tandem pump, and I am incredibly pleased with the amount of information that is shown in the app. I happen to be totally blind, and the feature allowing boluses from the app is incredible! I love the pump and would greatly appreciate the ability to change additional things from within the app since using the touchscreen on the pump is not possible when you are blind, but using the app is easy from my phone. I would love to see the ability to turn exercise mode on and off, as well as the ability to dismiss notifications from the app. I have seen others with the same request, so hoping that these items are possibly future additions, as this would just increase the overall accessibility of the pump for everyone, especially for those of us who are totally blind, and manage our diabetes independently. Keep up the excellent work :-)

Not production ready. The design and layout of the application is great, for the first iteration of the application. Unfortunately there aren’t enough features in the application, for example I can’t really change the settings on the pump or anything like that, through the application. The worst thing about it all, are the Bluetooth drops, multiple times a day. I literally had my phone sitting right next to my pump when the app lost Bluetooth connectivity. I’m giving this applications two stars for now. This application was not ready to be released, in my opinion. The Bluetooth drops are a huge problem because it could be hours before the connectivity actually comes back. Unfortunately, Tandem should’ve waited to release this. They should have tested it a lot more.

Love the convenience…..when it works. I love this app, I love being able to bolus using my phone when my pump is not easily accessible due to clothes……but here lately the app force closes while I’m in the middle of trying to bolus. It works about a third of the time. It says “Your pump disconnected from the app just now” whenever I open it up, and I have to wait for it to “reconnect” before I can try to bolus. Aside from the force closures, I think the app and the services it provides is amazing, I just wish it worked at the very least, 80% of the time.

keeping up with technology. While other aspects of diabetic technology advance tendon seems to be sitting on their hands. It was bad enough when they announced it after they release of iOS 16 that they did not support that iOS upgrade. They later announced that this update would come within the first or second quarter. The first quarter has come and gone. The second quarter has come and gone. Still no update. The Dexcom G7 is the best update Dexcom has overwatered, but now it looks like Dexcom is outpacing tandem in tandem is a much bigger corporation. If they wanted to update they would. They obviously have a very small team of people working on this alleged update, but I will believe it when I see it. Meanwhile, iOS 17 is due out any day now. #Lazy #Unacceptable #NoExcuse.

Great app but a few feature requests. Thank you for being so quick to update the app for new iPhone 15 users! I love this app because I rarely have to take my pump out. While blousing from the app has been out awhile, it’s a game changer for sure. I do however wish that you would add the extended bolus feature to the app! O e more thing, I would love to be able to access the pumps History information from the app. It’s obviously a bigger screen and easier to maneuver around. Thank you for all you do to make our lives as diabetics easier!

Great app, except…. This information is shared with my medical team. I have been having issues with the infusion sets, so many of my readings are very high, and the on board insulin is not accurate because the insulin never entered my body. It would be great to have a place for notes. I can change my insulin in the pump, that date is recorded but what my doctor can’t see is the I had to change my infusion 3 times and experience very high sugar levels as this cannot be determined that the site failed until sugar is too high and all the “bolus” I’ve entered is not accurate. Being able to add notes would be a great feature.

Alarms. This app is great. I have only one change I would like made. Having a hearing problem and being over 70, I need the app to alarm the I-phone 13 I have for mainly low glucose readings. I cannot hear the pump or feel the vibrations when asleep at night. My wife has saved me more than once. I am a good sleeper. Can you do this? Volume is not everything. Frequency loss is everyone’s problem. I cannot hear most items that beep because the frequency of the beeps is out of my range. Only with hearing aids can I hear them. Please give serious consideration. Thanks.

Keep unpairing from the pump! Useless notifications!. There are two major issues with this app. Number one is it keep signing off the account and unpairing from the pump! Makes it useless or you have to prepare to pair with the pump every a few days! To make it worse, they require you to enter the long mixed case letters and numbers! I’m a computer geek and I’ve never seen anything else this hard to pair! We tried two different iPhones from different generations, same issue. Number two, it notifies you for every notification on the pump, but you can NOT dismiss them! It asks you to use the pump to dismiss the notifications! Then what’s the point of displaying it???!!! We love the pump! But the app is useless!

It’s ok, missing some obvious features and... Like I said there is at least on feature that is a no brainer in my opinion, CarPlay compatibility. I drive enough to where it would be very useful to be able to see my numbers on the cars in-dash display and it would be life changing to be able to bolus without having to pull off the highway or wait for a red light to look at my trends and correct(control-IQ is good, but far from perfect). A CarPlay integration that would allow for me to interact with the pump when necessary is far overdue. Also, what’s the deal with the constant losing connection to the pump ?

Almost perfect. I absolutely love this app and makes life so simple by seeing all important data on 1 screen. There is an abundance of information on the main screen but some of it isn’t absolutely necessary. One very important piece of data is missing for me and that is the refill date. Often times I don’t recall when I changed my insulin and need to physically pull my pump off my belt to refer to the last date changed. I would highly suggest adding this field as it is a necessary piece of data to have on the main screen. Thanks for a great reliable app.

Overall helpful but not always. Generally speaking, it’s pretty decent for quick on the go items like a basic bolus or checking where I’m at. I tend to use the app when my phone is in my car and my pump is in my pocket. Lately, I’ve become frustrated at a lack of Exercise/Sleep mode access and the extended bolus function. The latest frustration comes with the incessant notifications for the time on my pump not matching my phone. It’s typically off by about 30 seconds but the notification comes ever 2 minutes.

Great 1st edition hoping for endless possibilities. Love the layout. Very detailed but easy to understand and see a complete picture of what is going on in your body...it's the last piece that was missing from the Dexcom report. I'm curious how long it takes to upload everything to the t connect server if I'm not running it all of the time...? As far as future functionality...I know they /FDA are really hesitant to give control of an insulin pump over to a mobile device which has potential for all sorts of problems that they would have to keep the Tandem /Dexcom/mobile device connection as a seperate connection blah blah blah,my head is already spinning. What would be nice and I don't think shouldn't get much resistance would be the ability to clear alerts on the mobile device. I use quick bolus a lot when my pump isn't accessible, but if my blood sugar is off, sensor is expiring, any of those repetitive alerts that shut down all functionality until cleared. Great start...looking forward to those updates!

Missing info. It used to regularly connect to Bluetooth but now I have to open the app, see nothing showing, then close the app, open my phone settings, click Bluetooth— all day long…it may seem minor to the developers but to those of us using the app for a quick glance at our numbers, these constant extra steps are awful and make the app meaningless at this point. Plus, lately even after I reconnected, it only shows my sugar number but none of my trend lines are there and big gaps of data are not in the history. Not sure what happened lately but it won’t even work after I reconnected Bluetooth. Honestly what good is this app if everything is manual and most of the info I’m seeking is missing?!

Recently Buggy. Have used this app for almost a year. It’s super convenient and has been generally solid but more recently it keeps losing my pump connection (even though they’re within 2’ of each other. It’s now common for the app to report lost pump connection on opening then will restore it after 10-30 secs. Quite often at that point I can see the current CGM reading but no history. This may be a pump BT issue as the pump often loses connection with the CGM even when they’re within a foot of each other.

So far so good!. This is great for the first release!! I find the screen intuitive and the data is easily digestible. Would love to see the ability to dismiss notifications from the phone, and of course being able to bolus would be amazing! Keep up the good work, looking forward to widgets, remote adjustments, watch integration etc! Would love to see the ability to add log entry type details - click the graph and add some details about what you were doing, what you were eating, etc. then hopefully be able to search that info somehow, someday. Again it’s great already!!

Fabulous App for TSlim Users. This a beautiful and well designed app for anyone who uses a TSlim pump. My 11 year old daughter is a T1D and I am always asking her, “how many units do you have on board? How many units are available? Do you need to charge?” I was exhausting these questions offer. Now I can look for myself on my phone and help her manage her pump. My only issue/ suggestion is the app only works for us if I’m within range of her pump. I wish I could have access to this information, like Dexcom, while she is at school. This app would be beautiful for working parents of “not yet” independent T1D. Thank you for this beautiful app.

OS Updates. OS Updates are well planned by cellphone manufacturers. How is it that Tandem is unable to conduct testing, like all other companies with apps, prior to release? This is completely unacceptable for such a major provider of insulin delivery systems. MAJOR MISS TANDEM! If you’re not going to properly support your apps with Dev, then users should find a different insulin delivery solution from a different manufacturer. Pull the customer in with a cool mobile feature so they’re hooked but then you can’t properly support it. Very poor business model especially when it’s something so important as insulin delivery. To respond to the developer feedback - Gold and Gold Master release versions allow ample time for the exact testing that you mentioned - as long as developer teams plan for testing in alignment with the OS release schedule. I know. My team had to conduct Dev work to function on the new OS versions - and we completed E2E and UAT testing ahead of the public release on the Gold Master versions - which actually came out ahead of schedule for iOS so there was even more time to validate. And, we are fully HIPAA compliant with our solutions. STILL A DISAPPOINTING AND MAJOR MISS BY TANDEM!

Great app! Made life a whole lot easier… :)). First, I would like to say that this app made my life so much easier! I was constantly pulling out my pump to look at my alerts and BG… now I can see everything right on my iPhone. I only have two features that I would like to see come to this app. The first one is being able to send a bolus from the app directly to my pump. It would be nice also if the app would connect to  Health and record bolus/basal insulin delivery… I noticed that there is a section for this in the Health app. Would these features ever be considered? I hope so! :))

Great app but recent problems. I have loved this app to really see more detail about what my pump is doing showing graphically Basel and bulus activity and to be able to give bulus from my phone, but recently there becomes some diagonal lines across the display and all the graphical display of the data is gone. It still displays my current BG but no graph. If I totally close the app after a bit it will start to refill the graph from current right side of the display and goes to the left side restoring the graph. I don’t know what they did but it’s not good that’s why the 3 stars would be 5 if fixed

Great app!. Hello, First, I love the app’s visual display of current and past 24 hours’ worth of data. I like the detail provided regarding basal rates received and the current rate. I like the 24 hr percent time in target display. Like everyone else, I request the ability to silence, or at least snooze an alert from the phone app, to have extended bolus, start /stop exercise and start/stop sleep from the app, too. In addition, it would be tremendously helpful to allow for notes, similar to the Sugar Mate app that had categories for notes and free text, or TidePool that allows favorites or quick buttons for frequently used notes or subtitles. Reviewing reports with clients during visits could be so much more efficient if notes could be taken easily from the app. Additionally, please create a follow app similar to Dexcom or Medtronic. Parents, spouses, and caregivers everywhere will appreciate this much needed app greatly. Thank you!

Full detailed review of activity. This app replaces any custom tracking or consolidates multiple sources for tracking activity of anyone using an insulin pump. It combines glucose readings from a CGM with periodic basal doses and self-delivered food boluses to produce a complete history of activity. I find it extremely useful and review it with my doctor during periodic checkups. The only feature I’d like to see added would be a notes feature so I can, in real time, add a comment as to what is happening, e.g., obstruction, exercise, under-bolus for high-carb meal, etc., so I don’t have to try and remember them outside the app.

Nice idea but.... This app is a great idea but there is constantly issues with it draining my phones battery. This happened all of a sudden a few months ago. So I turned off it’s background app refresh and ability to use cellular data because it was using 75% of my battery! It was working ok for a while now constantly says it cannot connect to the cloud and I will have areas where data is missing even though my pump has the whole graph showing. Please fix this. I am afraid if the app doesn’t show all my data and can’t upload it all then I will have to go back to updating it with the cord to the website.

Was great until latest 2.7 release. This is a great app, until the latest 2.7 release. First, the 2.7 version was auto installed overnight. Didn’t know there was an update waiting. (I never allow any apps to auto update, I always manually initiate all app updates from iOS App Store). Since the 2.7 update, the dot graph disappears and I have to close the app then relaunch. Sometimes, the dot graph shows the grey vertical display meaning the Bluetooth lost connection with the pump but the BG number was displayed with arrow indicator. After closing app and relaunching, the dot graph would re-display properly/fill in the history. But soon after the graph refreshed, dot graph would not update from that time of app relaunch to “present” time. A bit annoying. Prior to 2.7 update I hardly ever closed the app, it was that solid. Dot graph always displayed the graph up to “present” time. Would love to revert back to previous version/prior to 2.7.

Idek. So I love the app and the devices obviously but right now I’m thinking of other people. Older people don’t really get how to use it. I’ve met quite a few and have had to help them understand some functions and why things wouldn’t work for them. I don’t know if they watched the videos but still, other than that I think tandem should look into adding an A.I to the app, something that could access all our data from clarity and connect, and make suggestions,I know it’s a long shot with the fda but still.

Reliable data. This mobile app has been extremely reliable in giving me real time blood sugar data and the newly added feature of delivering a bolus via my mobile device has been extremely convenient when I’m sitting and my pump is in my pocket or when I have it tucked into my bra when wearing a dress! My hopes for future updates are: *acknowledging alerts from pump via mobile device so that I do not have to retrieve my pump from pocket or other location, *ability to share the Tconnect app with my spouse as the Dexcom share app is pitiful and does not stay connected for me OR my partner.

Super helpful; needs just a little revision. The app is a great asset considering it’s in its’ infancy for development. All is well and relatively accurate. The only downfall is if you are giving yourself fractions of units per hour (ie 3.25) it only shows whole numbers. I’ve also found that I take 4.25 units as my basal rate and the T:connect app still says I’m only taking 3 units per hour. This is a big problem when I need a refill as it doesn’t show my treatment team the correct dosage. I don’t think that they will rely on this too much since I can show them on my actual pump what the usage is but it would be much better if they could actually see the needs on the app.

Great app, please read developers!. This is a great app but I forget to not close it many times. You need to always keep it running which isn’t annoying but sometimes I forget. Then I’ll randomly receive a call from my Dr. Office about not being connected for several days. I beg you guys to please make a widget for the app because Dexcom made one and I can always check to make sure it’s on at my Home Screen! I really would enjoy a widget! Preferably I’d like it to have an Active or Inactive message along with how much insulin/bolus I’ve had the past 1-3 hours. Thank you.

Data disappears if not constantly running in the background. I want to love this app, but I do not see a huge benefit since the app data disappears if the app is not always running in the background. Since I also wear the Dexcom G6 and must use my Dexcom phone app for that, having to constantly run two apps over Bluetooth in the background causes a major drop in my battery life. I was under the impression this app would replace the need to do uploads via a computer, but that is simply not the case. It would be wonderful if the developers could work on making the app a true substitute for uploading on a computer so when I do have the app open that data truly saves to my profile that my providers access. Otherwise, there is really no point in the app.

Tslim app better than pump interface. I have been using the pump and app for 6 months and previously a Medtronic pump user. I love the app and rarely use the pump interface except to make obvious changes not allowed on the app. The things that need improvement are as follows: 1. Staying connected and interferences. My Dexcom always shows connect, meanwhile the app says otherwise. This is not super critical but needed when you need to correct my Bolus. This is an extra step to open Dexcom app get my reading and add to my app, then correct. 2. My major issue with the app is the lower section of Bolus screen as it is light gray and no black numbers or letters, hard to see at a glance. Need to be able to change font or colors, larger text. Medtronic did not have anything like this but the pump interface was much better. Medtronic pump and CGI combo is the worst. Always 40 points off, higher. Tandem and Dexcom is dead on, I calibrated 1 time in 6 months.

Doesn’t work as it should. The app is supposed to upload all your data to the t:connect website. I haven’t had issues in the past but today I went to an endo appointment and they said my t:connect profile had no new info uploaded to it in the past 6 weeks. This is despite using the app daily and so my info should be uploading DAILY. Never received any kind of indication in the app that it wasn’t doing so. Received a follow-up call from Tandem who basically said leave the app running in the background for it to work at uploading. This app is a battery killer if left running so I will probably just uninstall it completely

Doesn’t update/refresh to show all info?. I love this app, I really do. I’m not sure when this started happening, but the past month or so, it’s been doing this very strange thing where it won’t actually update to reflect the most recent graph of my blood sugars, my basal, or my boluses, and will also “disconnect” for long periods of time. Like, it’ll say my blood sugar at the top, but it just won’t update the rest of the graph for periods at a time? I’ve done everything to try and fix it. I’ve unpaired and repaired my pump SO many times. Uninstalled the app. Signed out and signed back in. Turned my phone off. Literally everything. I have no idea how to fix it, and it’s VERY frustrating :(

No extended bolus. Where in the world is the extended bolus? You overlooked that on this app not good. Also, what’s the deal with the G7 update? I have it, why when an extended bolus is going on the pump can you not add a normal bolus through the app? Let’s say I’m rising, and I know I didn’t give enough for the extended, and I need another unit, you don’t allow that now after the update. Before the update it was allowed and I could do it but now after the G7 update in integration, it no longer allows me to give more insulin when an extended bolus is in progress. Sometimes you people at Tandem I don’t know what you’re thinking. We’re not babies you don’t have to diss allow things that people use because you think we are little babies.

Tandem Doesn’t Care. Tandem is fully aware update 2.7 is garbage. They have known since the update and would rather you waste time troubleshooting on your own instead of sending out a notification to their customers informing them of the needed temporary fixes and providing status and estimated timeline of remediation. The battery depletion issues and disappearing readings just aren’t a concern of theirs. They don’t care that I have to continually uninstall/reinstall/pair/unpair this app. Even their Customer Service employees wish they would send out a notification. These developer responses on here are comical. I await a Developer Response that doesn’t imply that they aren’t aware and recommends I call Tandem Customer No-service.

App stability and crashing issues:. Most recent update resulted in 70-90% battery drain within a 24 hour period. App instability, such as crashing, graph and connectivity issues also evident. The problem was the older pump software system I was using. Updating to the newest pump software fixed all issues immediately. I'm not sure what pump software version I had prior to updating, but those experiencing issues can update to resolve them. Battery drain in the 15 hours since I updated has been ten percent, which I consider normal for a three year old pump.

Frequent crashes, intermittent data dropouts. Problems started after latest update was installed. Upon foregrounding the app, the CGM graph started dropping anywhere from 30 to 60 minutes of data points, and the trend indicator arrows are also not displayed. The t:slim X2 pump still has the CGM data and displays it correctly. And the current glucose and insulin on board displayed on the app match the pump’s display. I use to check this app often during the day to monitor current glucose level and trend. Now? Not so much. I have lost confidence in your app, and look forward to a new version where you have sorted out your app’s crash and display problems.

Great app for visualizing your Tandem data. The t:connect app is a great way to visualize all the goings on of your t:connect pump. Sometimes it’s just easier to view this information on your phone than to unbury your pump, which is why I really love this app. But now that information flows both ways (ie, now that we can Nokia from the app) I wish— I SO WISH! —you could silence/acknowledge alarms and notifications through this app too because, again, sometimes it’s just so much easier/convenient/unobtrusive to use this app rather than unbury your pump.

Pros and Cons. I just switched to this app from the Dexcom one so I can use the bolus from phone feature. So far I have noticed some major pros and cons Pros: -bolus from phone is obviously incredible and super handy -The user interface is much nicer and shows you more data -my music doesn’t get paused every single time I get a notification which was a major irritant with Dexcom Cons: -no widget so you can’t view your blood sugar from the home page -the alerts only say high or low blood sugar not the actual value -there doesn’t seem to be a way to pair a sensor from the app -the notifications do not have a distinct sound/ vibrate pattern to differentiate it from other notifications I have not had a severe low since switching apps and I am not sure what the notification sound is like. Dexcom bypassed volume and dnd settings to make a very loud sound which was annoying but effective, I am hoping this app has a similar feature. I will likely continue using both apps until some of these cons get fixed

Poor blue tooth. I use this to monitor my son’s pump. Since the latest updates I have had repeated problems where I get logged out of the app, then when I log in, it can’t find the pump that is clearly detected by bluetooth when I check my system settings. I am forced to forget and re-pair it. Not to mention that the Clarity app to track long term BG rates has frozen and not updated since February. Oh, and forget about automatically reconnecting if the pump goes out if range for a bit - though this is a problem I have with iPhone 12 that I did not have when I was on iPhone SE. Sadly things are getting more glitchy. Please figure this out.

Will not refresh in background. Since the last update, the app has stopped refreshing in the background. It also fires not refresh when pulled down from the top to refresh. It SAYS that it is refreshing but no new BG numbers appear. The only way to get recent BG numbers is too hard close the app and then reopen it. Even then, sometimes it takes a couple of tries. This is a major usability bug. One other thing: I used to be apple to press on a bolus and get details. No more. Nothing happens. I’ve given it 3 stars because when I can see the numbers it is helpful. But the current state is probably closer to 2. I doubt that I would trust it right now for using the bolus feature as I have in the past. These bugs need fixing ASAP so that we can see the trend. When the graph isn’t showing all of the numbers the TIR is only based on the numbers actually displayed on the graph and is wrong.

No longer can bolus from app. Edit** I ended up researching it more and it said to try to close the app and restart it. I did that and it started working again. Thank you. Yesterday when I went into the app, I don’t have the option to bolus anymore. I don’t know how to get in contact or who to get in contact with for this problem. I’ve been using Tslim for almost a year now and love the app it’s so useful not to have to pull my pump out all the time. I hope this gets fixed soon. Thanks

Disappointing. Had to call tech support to get my pump connected to the app, apparently my pump wasn’t properly attached to my account and a dev had to do it manually in the database. I’ve been using the app for the last day, and I find it to be a let down. It’s an ok quick overview, but we really should be able to access more data, imo. -should be able to drag a line across the chart to inspect bg, basal rate, and what mode my Control IQ was in at that time. -needs a customizable widget (which will be much more prevalent in iOS 14 -would like to be able to interact with the pump from the app (that’s a big ask, I’m sure the FDA clearance on that is tougher) -notifications have such little information, I turned them off -the UI looks super antiquated -I should be able to export reports from the app The dexcom app is so great, I’m definitely judging this against it... and it’s losing big time. Would also like if they had an API that dexcom could just tap into... since their app is much better. It’s a start, but has a long way to go in being useful.

Great first start, room to grow.. Looking at this app, you can really get a feel for the direction personal diabetes management is moving, bringing the pump interface right into the devices that we all use every day. Although there is very little that’s actionable in the app at this point, it’s a wonderful way to get insights into one’s blood sugar (through Dexcom integration), insulin dosage levels, and pump battery status. I expect it’ll take a longer time to integrate and clear pump control, but one thing that seems like low hanging fruit is writing blood sugar and insulin data back to iOS Health via HealthKit for use in other tracking apps. iOS supports tracking both basal and bolus insulins.

So far so good. I throughly enjoy easily seeing my pump screen from my phone. I understand the inability to make changes on the pump from the app- could lead to accidental blousing etc. Though being able to add specific food eaten or activity would be cool, as well as being able to clear the alerts from the app. My issue is that each time I try to set my glucose thresholds the screen freezes on a loading circle. Occasionally it will allow me to enter the desired numbers but when you hit save, it again goes to loading screen circle and the app will crash. I’d like to change those numbers to have a clearer visualization of how close my numbers are to my target range.

Not refreshing. App was working well by continuously showing CGM trends, basal adjustments and automated bolus data. With new recent update the app doesn’t keep up with the pumps data even when you pull down to refresh. You must force close the app and reopen, then pull down to refresh to get recent data. I’m noticing it doesn’t refresh in the background. I just continuously get a gray diagonal lined graph when app is opened. If this bug can be fixed then the app is gold. It was, when it was working, a great tool into seeing data that the screen of the pump doesn’t show. It gave much more insight into what the Tandem X2 pump with Control-IQ was doing. Being able to bolus from my phone is also super useful.

New features require pump update. Tandem could provide more clarity, but did not so I will do so instead: New features in the iPhone app depend on a software update (at least v7.6) to the Tandem pump. To get that update, customers must have successfully completed training and a quiz at Tandem’s customer portal. Even then, Face ID can’t be enabled until trying to use this app to initiate a bolus. To the Tandem project manager: a lot of customer confusion could have been avoided by simply explaining the sequence of requirements instead of simply listing the requirements as if they all had the be in place before the training and update. Step by step instructions were missing and their absence created confusion.

Bluetooth: why won’t it stay connected?. I haven’t had the app for long (maybe five minutes), but every time I try to connect it to my pump, it lets me in but immediately tells me my pump has disconnected. I went into my blue took settings and it showed where my pump was connecting, then disconnecting. Over and over again. Connected one second, not connected the next, and repeating that process. Is there something wrong with my phone, or is this a common enough problem? Most importantly, is there an easy fix? I love my TSlim and this app would be a life saver if I could get it to work. Thanks!

I love the mobile bolus feature but…. The app serves the minimal purposes. Here are some features we should have had a while ago however: 1. An Apple CarPlay app for when driving. 2. A Share feature and a Companion App so parents can mobile bolus from further away. 3. A feature for our doctors (and patients) to save and update pump settings so our doctors can better manage us and if we have to replace a damaged pump to download and install our settings easier. 4. Also, commenting on updates, you had how long to test IOS 16 while it was in beta testing. There’s no reason to not have things ready for iOS launch.

Crashes and drains battery. App works for the most part, but not for long. After a week or so the app constantly crashes when trying to open it. Once this happens, the app drains the battery at an alarming rate (unplugged my phone for roughly two hours, which in that time of browsing Reddit for maybe 20 mins I saw my battery percentage go from 100 to 71%. The culprit? This app taking over 80% of that usage in background activity). The ONLY way to fix these issues is to uninstall the app completely and reinstall…. Until the problem resurfaces again within a week. Absolutely unacceptable that the app is this unstable, and that the last update was 4-5 months ago.

Can’t retrieve passwords/ can’t login. As someone who relies on the Tandem t:connect insulin pump app for managing my insulin, I can't help but feel let down by its current state. It's such a critical tool for us users, yet it's riddled with bugs and frustrating issues. Simple tasks like logging in or resetting a password often turn into a hassle, greeted by the all-too-familiar "Oops something went wrong. Please try again" message. And, when you do try again, it's the same story. For an app that plays such a vital role in our daily health management, you'd expect it to be top-notch and error-free. It really should be one of the best-rated apps in the App Store. It's disheartening to see it fall short, and I truly hope the team behind it steps up to make the necessary improvements. We rely on it, after all.

Great except for one feature.. I use this app a lot. It gives more info than the Tandem app and it’s easy to operate but there is one exception. On the new remote bolus feature the box for entering your carbs looks very much like the box for insulin. It’s much too easy to accidentally type in the wrong box which could literally be fatal. It would be a huge improvement if one of those boxes was shaded, a different color, or had the text on a different color. Many of the people in my Tandem group on Facebook agree. I also sympathize with those who’s eyesight is impaired.

Please update the app!. I really think the app needs to be updated and ready to go when new updates are available from Apple..not only are some of these updates essential for security but they also add new features an I feel Tandem falls short in this field. All the functionality of the app should be available at all times, my phone was updated before the message telling me not to update the phone was even sent out from tandem. One of the reasons I picked this pump is that it works with my CGM and your supposed to be able to bolus from your phone. Deeply saddened that tandem can’t keep there app up to date!
