Unsecure, and easily hackable. Or a scam. Both?. I tried exchanging btc to monero with this app. Set up both wallets, transferred btc to the wallet, then exchanged it for monero all within the app. Sounds convenient, right? Wrong. As I was waiting for the exchange to finish, I see it complete, and the SECOND it completes, the monero is sent to an outside wallet. No way a human did it that fast. I’m 90% sure they just siphon a certain number of exchanges automatically and then blame the user. I was told it was my fault because my app wasn’t up to date (no notifications told me I needed an update). They said they’d try to get the money back but had to focus on issues that weren’t caused by “user error”. I don’t see terrible security as a user error. These guys are scam artists. Look online, it happens a lot. The positive reviews here are either fake (standard with iOS apps) or people that have used it without being robbed yet. Because in all honesty, the idea of the app is great. Too bad they don’t take their security as seriously as their snide customer service remarks.

Nice UX for a mobile wallet. This is my preferred mobile wallet. It doesn’t support that many coins but the overall functionality is excellent. I like the focus on privacy coins with the addition of Monero and Haven.

Scamm beware. They steal your money I did a small transaction btc to xmr and it sent it to some link that wasn’t even mine even though I maid sure bunch of retards that just want your money

Difficult To Use. I have been trading crypto for 10 years and thought I’d start trading with XMR, boy was that a mistake. I deposited money just to find out exactly how difficult it was going to be to get it returned to my account outside of this one. It has been a huge nightmare and EVERYTIME I log in my account grows smaller and smaller. 1000% complete rip-off. I am still waiting for a phone number to appear somewhere so I can actually talk to a human. I saw they’re down the street from me in Orlando so maybe I’ll pay a visit to the office and let them know how I feel about thieves in my area. Live and Learn I guess. Sincerely, Karma

Pretty rock solid. A few months ago I was upset and left a negative review , upon figuring out how the system works and everything , it’s pretty good and efficient , simply for exchanging . I do wish they had more and easier literature to explain the process as a whole , if they fixed this it would be five stars

Beware. I used to believe in this app but today did the Bitcoin to monero exchange and it sent 5000 to an unknown address. And they will not help with it. Worst day ever thanx also the balance that I had 200 went missing without a trace and I can’t get at the remaining 400 which is dwindling

Money stollen. CAKE REFUNDED!. Cake decided to use a weak and hackable 12 word seed instead of the industry standard 24 word. My crypto was stollen as a result. After a bit of a wait and quite a few emails, Cake refunded the stollen money! Pleased they made it right. Be sure to move your crypto to a 24 word seed.

Converting BTC to XMR is a huge issue. I never leave reviews on apps, but I had to go out of my way on this one because EVERY SINGLE TIME (~50 times) except for maybe ONE TIME, there’s been a problem converting BTC to XMR. It’s ridiculous how long it takes and how many problems there are. It’s not uncommon for it to take 12-24 hours for the money to drop. And it’s happened where a huge chunk of money has been missing. This app is only good for BTC and not conversion. I’m constantly on the telegram app getting customer service support.

Okay. I like this app and it’s layout but it has its flaws. I cannot buy anything using Apple Pay. I called the app and they told me to call my bank and when I called the bank they said the app was declining the purchase not them. Called the app again and they told me to wait a few weeks too see what’ll happen.. of course nothing changes and I’m stuck with a $500 weekly limit unless I want to wait a week for bank transfers

I’m starting to think Privacy is the most valuable asset. Lol so let me review this app with my public apple account. Anyhow I’m changing my bad review from once paying way too high in fees for swapping btc to xmr. But anytime I’ve had an issue this team is usually on top of it. And this app is almost too easy to use, super user friendly. I’ve come around and seen the light. Thank y’all for existing.

It functions. Overall it gets the job done. Could use bigger range of coins. UI needs a little tweaking for instance when trying to convert the keyboard keeps blocking access to the address bar for receiving.

Good. No complaint… does the job. I wouldn’t use or trust any other mobile app for XMR. Many 1-star reviews seem to come from noobs who don’t know what they’re doing (go figure). I haven’t had any problems. There’s clearly a reason the official website recommends Cake Wallet.

Customer Service. Not only is the app great. When I had question about a missing deposit a email to support was quickly answered and follow up support is there if needed. Something you hardly ever get with a free app.

Great. A little buggy but solid for what it does.

No support. Have a problem with this app? Better move on because no one from Cake Wallet will ever get back to you. This app generated a random Monero address as my “receive” address and it never came. I requested support from Cake and they never even responded. Terribly slow and inefficient. Avoid at all costs

Stuck and cannot send!!!!!. Been using for quite some time and now apparently there’s not enough inputs available. Whatever that means.

Haven’t used it much so take this with a grain of salt. Super easy wallet , great for beginners , easily buy , sell and send many different coins . You can also scan QR wallet codes instead of typing it in / copying and pasting it . Just saves some time and eliminates potential errors . Developer team seems very active and when their is an issue they will do their best to try and fix it

App is trash!. This app literally cost me 2 days of time and about $25. The result was absolutely nothing positive. The app promises to exchange one cryptocurrency for another easily and with no hassles. After two days of trying to exchange bitcoin for xmr I gave up and sent myself the bitcoin back. Half of the time I was given a message stating that there was an error and I didn’t have enough bitcoin to complete the exchange and the other half of the time the option to exchange was not even on the screen. The button to click to make an exchange happen simply didn’t load. I sent multiple messages, emails, chats, Facebook messages, telegram messages, and even created a twitter account (which I swore I’d never do for any reason) to send messages for answers. I did this after an hour and a half of trying to make the exchange. The exchange never happened. Two days passed and no replies to any message other than the claim of needing more information from me about what I was attempting to do! This app is complete trash!

Dope. Lots of bad reviews here from people who don’t know how to use a wallet app or crypto in general. This app is great and I’m excited to get XHV integration too.

Truly garbage. Let’s see if they suppress this comment, this app is truly garbage, this is my last time using it. It crashes every 1-2 months guaranteed, then you have to restore using your seed key, sounds simple enough until you see how unreliable this app and company is. Fix the freaking app. They play with people’s money. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

I want to give it 5 stars. The problem is every time I open the btc wallet I have to force synchronize it by reconnecting the node. I have talked to Cake Labs about it and followed their directions of uninstalling then reinstalling the app. Ive also upgraded to the latest version. Issue still persists. tbh it hasn’t affected anything other than the annoyance of having to do it every time I open the app. Other than that, I love it.

Can’t exchange monero to bitcoin. Every time I try to exchange come into bitcoin the app crashes and takes me to my home screen. It won’t let me confirm the transaction, it crashes every time. Does this have something to do with the nodes or bugs on the app?

Unbelievable. I been using this app for years only took a break few months still trusting your services n charges then tried sending n its unbelievable how your charges just shoot up youre literally charging 12$ from 40$ how !! @&$);)$

Money stolen. Sent about $20 worth of btc to the address and I haven’t gotten any of it back still waiting to receive it but it’s highly unlikely thanks a lot cake wallet

They resolved my problem. Changenow tried jacking my BTC but the cake wallet support staff William put them dogs in their place.

Terrible exchange. I do anything I can to avoid exchanging BTC to XMR on Cake wallet. I’m currently looking for other programs that let you do this. I have literally waited weeks until finally getting my XMR and sometimes I just never received it. Which is unfortunate because transferring from BTC to XMR is literally the only reason anybody would need this app. Terrible, there has to be a better way that doesn’t take three months.

Don’t use. Funds won’t even transfer, app crashes every time. They have all my funds stuck in wallet

The worst app ever. Use twice worked the first time for small amount…Took over 1k the second time never received my litecoin…No phone number to call and email response is horrible….DO NOT USE unless you want to be robbed

Best Mobile XMR Wallet, By Far. CAKE is hands down the best mobile XMR wallet available. It’s simple, reliable, and intuitive. Compared to the official desktop GUI, it’s a night and day difference. The developers seem to genuinely care about the community and, from what I’ve experienced, have a strong sense of duty in terms of upholding and protecting privacy. Almost all of the negative reviews I’ve read were absolutely a result of user ignorance or error, which is a shame. If you cannot grasp the most fundamental aspects of how cryptocurrency and cryptocurrency wallets work, you have no one but yourself to blame if you make a mistake.

App is now a scam. Added support for Zcash which has been widely know for its links to literal murders and scams of users. They paid 250k to get Zcash added and cakewallet sold out for it. Can’t support this transition from monero to Zcash.

Transaction commit error means you can’t withdraw from this wallet. There is a “Transaction commit error” that blocks you from withdrawing your coins, spending them, or sending them. Be wary.

Useless. I tried this app with a small amount of BtC and I’m so glad I did. It was stolen and support couldn’t do anything to help except pass the buck. Stay .away!

Great app! Best way to get started with monero. This is a great app for anyone who wants a quick and easy way to get started with monero. Be sure to securely store your keyword phrase offline somewhere safe. Once you do that the rest is easy using cake wallet.

Stay away!!!. I lost my xmr because the wallet can’t provide the necessary information for me to provide a receipt. Tech support can’t help me, I’ve tried 3 different people in the past day and half. One said he was talking to dev team. Never heard back from him or the dev team. I got an “apology for the inconvenience “ but nothing over my lost money. You have been warned They did fix my problem in the latest update. I feel like they could have handled everything better.

Most secure mobile monero wallet. Does synchronization on device. Completely non-custodial.

Be Careful. i bought monero yesterday and sent it to cake wallet.. nothing showed up, will try another wallet (update: developer is correct, i didn’t have this synchronized.. it took a few minutes but it us working fine, i’ve since used it a couple times successfully.. if you are having issues be patient, might take some playing around with app)

So confused. Every time I send try to send monero my app crashes. This is getting very annoying please help.

$400 stolen. Horrible customer service.. Used for a while without issue until I deposited $400 into a wallet, app crashed and when reopened I could not access the wallet. Still can’t access and the “customer service” isn’t available on any platform they claim - Telegram, Reddit, etc. Email was finally answered with no help and then eventually ignored. Definitely look elsewhere unless you’re OK having your coins STOLEN.

Can’t exchange or send monero. The app crashes every time I try to send out monero to another wallet, or when I try to exchange it for another crypto. The bug that causes the app to crash when trying to transact in xmr needs to be fixed!! I see other people also having the same app crashing problem when using monero.

Absolutely unusable and steals your money. Both devices provided when trying to purchase crypto through the app will double-charge you the conversion fee every single time, support refuses to do anything to help. BUYER BEWARE, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

broken, buggy and unsafe to use. Many issues, mainly on iOS. Sync requires phone lock to be turned off. Most recent update stopped nodes syncing at all resulting in a loss of funds. Not reliable do not use, currently still not useable due to node outages. The date selection in restore is buggy and unresponsive. The gas fee UI is unclear, and after a update defaulted to ultra slow resulting in lost 1k USD due to the poor design of this wallet and the double payment bug.

Scam. Don’t trust this app so stole my money. I tried to contact them and no response. They are a scam scam scam

Funds stolen due to a vulnerability. All of my Bitcoin was emptied from my account, due to a vulnerability in their wallet creation. Apparently not enough randomness in creation of seed words led to all Bitcoin wallets with 12 seed words being open and easy for anyone access. This is obviously a major and unacceptable security flaw, and it has cost me and many others dearly. I am yet to have any reply from the support team… I can no longer recommend cake wallet as a safe or secure place for storing cryptocurrency. Update: have now heard from support. No resolution yet. Will keep this review updated as we go.

Piece of Cake. This app is great for people who want to store, send or receive XMR monero. It provides a user friendly interface which allows it to be a simple process to send, receive and store. It even has an exchange feature which allows you to change your XMR to some of the popular coins like Bitcoin, Ethereum and Litecoin. Well worth a download to utilise XMR.

Best option. In a small field of choices for a crypto Wallet that supports XMR and others, Cake Wallet prevails as the common sense choice. Development team and support is constantly there unlike much larger companies that wouldn’t care seeing you go underfoot. Highly reccomend.

Cake wallet is a scam. I purchased $175 usd worth of Bitcoin in my cake wallet through moon pay. I then exchanged for xmr and put address as my cake wallet xmr account and the funds never turned up. I checked the address it was sent to and it was completely different to the one I put it, even tho I doubled checked it was right one. Cake wallet staff responded to one message, but now will not respond to my messages at all. I then put another $30 into account to double check what was happening, and after I typed in address and it asked me to confirm trade, it changed my address, but this time I didn’t follow through. Use any other crypto wallet apart from cake wallet!

Can’t work. Ever since restoring my backup I am unable to login. It is stuck on authentication.

DO NOT USE - security compromised on previous versions. Previous version generated COMPROMISED private keys . Fix is in place - but the development team has done something unforgivable here . Who knows if they might make another ‘mistake’. Go elsewhere!

Great wallet. Cakewallet is easy to use, non-custodial, and is a must have for any true crypto enthusiast.

No App Support. I successfully loaded MyMonero wallet to Cake last week but since switched phones and now I’ve been trying to “recover” or load MyMonero wallet to the new phone for days with no luck. How do I contact the developers?! Their website only has an option to donate to them. With this kind of support why would you expect donations?! 👎🏾

Cake wallet stole/lost my XMR $. All the transactions and funds from my XMR cake wallet just disappeared into the ether, the only record I had was the transfer ID and info still saved where funds were sent from, my bitcoin wallet. I emailed support and they ignored me for 2 days, then sent a bunch of automated reply’s then went back to not responding. I’m not impressed, and the weak support I’ve been offered so far doesn’t leave me hopeful my funds will be recovered. I wouldn’t risk trusting my money with this app again, proceed with caution.

White screen. Since update I can’t log in anymore. Broken don’t even download.

Syncing. Syncing at startup takes forever. Hours, if not days.

Best Wallet for Monero. I’ve tried a few different wallets over the years and Cake Wallet is by far and away the best. The developers are very responsive and are always adding new features and improvements.

Best option for Monero on iPhone. Simple and effective Monero wallet for your iPhone! Fully functional and open source.

Why won’t you open. I have a lot of issues opening the app. Sometime it’ll take my print, but most of the time it just closed the app, doesn’t even give me an opportunity to use my pin. Sucks to have an app you can not access

Would be better if sync in background. That is AFAIK the only iOS native XMR wallet, Works and updates well. It would be great If there was a way to sync it in background.

Updated review. Their staff reached out to me for assistance and pushed the transaction through in great time. Updating review from 1 to 5 stars. The third party exchange support team is horrible and should be replaced. Over a week and no reply from them.

Lost $1500 due to a development error. As an iOS developer myself I’m being fair here- this is a very good app, but be very careful when using Cake Wallet. What is secure one day is not secure the next. Very good interface, great for what it does and facilitates with a few caveats. But they really dropped the ball on security and opened themselves up to vulnerabilities and in turn got a bunch of their users money stolen, myself included. And lets be honest app support is non-existant.

XMR capitalist. In a tech age were things are impersonal, cake wallet team gets things done when you need it. And a killer app for Monero and Bitcoin! Highly recommended

Great, easy to use, monero wallet. I downloaded this wallet after using the myMonero web wallet. I wanted an easy to use, secure, lightweight wallet that didn’t require running a full node or having a large amount of technical expertise. Cake wallet is very easy to set up whether you’re creating a new wallet or importing an existing one. If you do important an existing wallet, the initial sync can take quite a while, but after that it’s very quick. Sending and receiving funds is a breeze and you can control the priority of your send transactions if you want to keep fees down. This is by far the most user-friendly monero wallet I’ve come across. There’s also a cool feature that allows you to connect the wallet to your own node, if you’re running one. I used this and it was very easy to set up. My only beef with the wallet is that you’re not given the option for a 6-digit pin, but that’s a fairly minor issue, since your probably shouldn't be storing large amounts of money on a mobile wallet anyway. Overall, Cake Wallet is a great mobile monero wallet for both technical and non technical users.

Can’t import phrase. 12 word phrases from other mobile wallets don’t import here for some reason. And yes, my words are correct. I tested them.

Too Slow. App takes all day to ‘synchronize’.

I’ve used it for almost a year. It gets worse and worse. Full balance will say I have so much, but then available balance goes from the full amount to zero every other second and I can’t get transactions done when I need to. Currently I’ve been waiting 1 1/2 hours for transactions that should take 15min at most and I’m still not done. But I am done with Cake. I’m sorry. I wish I could leave a good review, but it’s gotten so bad with random dumb error messages, I’m done. If you have any other options to use, to that route. Cake is so bad lately, it’s not even worth trying.

Best Open Source Wallet!. Cake wallet has a simple, intuitive UI. Respects the users: Your Monero, your keys on your device. Although it’s free it offers users incredibly robust features. Thank you 🙇 Cake 🎂

Exit scamming. I would not recommend. They used to be fantastic for conversions but I’m pretty sure they’re getting ready to exit scam. None of my conversions are happening, they’re getting lost along the way and their app suspiciously doesn’t actually allow you to copy and paste the transaction ID. Find somewhere else to convert your crypto, because this ain’t the one.

Phenomenal support.. These guys contacted me on reddit to help me recover my 1.2xmr off the blockchain after it was stuck for 3 months on the atomic wallet app with zero help from atomic team. Cake support introduced me to the cake app, restored my keys, and boom. I now have access to my 1.2xmr again after 3 months. Thank You Cake Wallet!!! Good customer service is rare from crypto companies!

There is one problem, the app is crashing and is stuck on the logo screen, I’m connected to WiFi and not using a vpn, also the amount in my xmr balance is displaying 0 although I re scanned my wallet multiple times. It’s like a flip of a quarter. It’s like a flip of a quarter whether or not you’re gonna have a good experience or not. I’ve used this app/wallet twice, the first time it went well. this more recent second time I used it I have had a TERRIBLE experience this time. I used there in app exchange that lets you exchange crypto currencies, and I never got the new exchanged crypto currency it took it out of my wallet but never put anything in my other wallet.

One of the best Monero mobile apps. Could use support for Wownero, Zcash

First solid xmr iwallet. Before this I was stuck running a personal node for over a year which was a pain on my older comp. I used to have to leave it running overnight cause my hard drive writespeed was so slow. Now after the updated version of this app was released I just boot it up and I’m good to go! Also met the creator who was very nice and has been hitting the monero meetups in NYC. Overall a great wallet.

XHV not syncing. I was excited to see implementation of XHV. So I deposit XHV into my XHV wallet. Nothing . Stuck on sync. Now what?

Money takes several hours or days to transfer. I tried to transfer funds from one cake wallet to another and the first time it was 50 dollars took 7 hours for that to go through with the change from Bitcoin to xmr. So then I tried to transfer 100 dollars it’s been 3 or 4 days now. Reached out to customer service and they have been telling me that there is an error in the programming and I should be in my account now when I do the update. Did the update no xmr received yet going on day 4 or 5 lost count. They will lose your money. I hope they can find my money. Good luck! There are a lot of wallets out there and it seems to me to just get a xmr wallet run local nodes and run through an straight exchange will be cheaper and take way less time. Would give it one star but the other transfer went through.

Buggy. Lite coin never synchronizes.

Solid. Update: to those saying the nodes are down... try using a VPN that masks your location outside of the U.S. The nodes are not down they’re just being blocked apparently. Overall solid app. Takes a bit for the blockchain to sync when you haven’t opened the app for awhile but thats to be expected. Very similar to running the desktop Monero Wallet. Hands down the best Monero wallet for iOS that doesn’t sacrifice anything. You’re in control of your keys.

Scammy. I’m out about $200 now. Tried to exchange bitcoins and monero and the money disappeared from my account. Refund me please.

Don’t download, Steals your money. Had $25 in bitcoin and it said it would be a $4 fee to transfer to xmr and turns out they took my money because I ended up with $11 in xmr, that’s literally half. I do not care if varying fee is up to 3rd party vendors, there should be a disclaimer if you’re gonna almost triple my fee without my consent. Needless to say I will not be using this app ever again.

Best wallet for xmr. I think this is the first time I have ever written a review on the App Store but this app is a complete lifesaver. The easy btc -> xmr conversion makes life 100x easier. Shoutout to the developers for this app!

App is constantly resetting. I am constantly finding my balance zero and having to completely re-sync the whole wallet to get my balance back. It takes a long time and you have to keep the phone screen on or it stops. It is a major issue and I will be finding a new wallet.

Something sketchy going on. After making a couple of test deposits, last night, I decided to migrate a large sum of BTC to my cake wallet. 27 minutes after doing so, a “send” / transfer out took place that was .0001 less than what I had deposited. This was not initiated by me nor to and address that I know. I spoke with a friend that is using cake as well and he has recently had a similar experience. My keys were written down on paper and stored in my safe, they weren’t available. Something very sketchy about this. I reached out to support via email with no response as of yet.

Exchange never went through, never got refunded, never got a response from support.. I have an unconfirmed transaction that I was never assisted with or refunded for. I’m extremely disappointed and as far as I’m concerned, Cake Wallet pocketed my BTC and ignored me.

Getting very slow lately. Really don’t know what is going on but lately exchanges are taking over 2 hours and stalling. I’ve been waiting 3 hours on my current exchange. Still syncing? Used to take 30 minutes tops before with custom high network fee.

Best XMR Mobile wallet. So far this is the best XMR Mobile wallet if you care about privacy. I had some issues at first trying to figure out where my coins were, but then realized you need to wait for the wallet to sync fully before seeing your balance. This is a much better wallet than MyMonero and in my opinion a very important tool in the crypto space. Currently it’s the only mobile crypto wallet that provides its users complete privacy when transacting. This is something no other crypto currency offers. Thank you for the hard work devs. Looking forward to seeing future updates and will do what I can to support you guys. Heads up to new users: **IF YOU ARE HAVING ISSUES SEEING YOUR TRANSACTIONS YOU MUST WAIT FOR THE WALLET TO FULLY SYNC**

Best monero wallet so far.. There really is nothing better than this wallet. I love this wallet so much. When I think of cake wallet, I get the same warm feelings I had at 90s raves munching pac man pills. Seriously, that’s how much I love cake wallet. Feels like I’m rolling every time I use it. You won’t find another wallet as good as cake wallet. I truly hope they continue to grow and become more than just a wallet in the future. I hope they become the .01% best of wallets. Fiat on ramps, maybe even a market place people can buy and sell from each other, something like localbitcoin. And eventually, it’s own super privacy exchange for trading privacy coins. Okay, I’m gonna go take a cold shower now. No need to look further, just download cakewallet and don’t look back.

Don’t use it. Lost half Btc while in their wallet. Sent to their wallet, then started to exchange for monero The Btc showed up on screen then disappeared. History shows Btc in my cake wallet for four minutes then got sent to mystery address before trade finished. No real support besides a reply that they look into it. I guess not important as they didn’t loose half a Btc Currently I would not recommend this wallet. It seemingly has leaks.

Amazing customer service. Literally at 3:30am within 10 minutes of me sending the email I was responded to and helped 100% through my issue which took 20/30 emails back and forth. Thank you CakeWallet!!

Legit monero wallet for iOS. I am so glad that this wallet was made for iOS. Takes a bit to initially sync but after that is works great. An easy to use wallet was why I hadn’t used monero in the past but I will no longer use Bitcoin now that I have this as an option. I love the privacy aspect that monero offers.

Scam. Tried to Exchange 75$ in Bitcoin to monero Nd never received my coins

Best phone wallet but still needs improvement and better support. Your money is absolutely safe with cake wallet however their support team is severely lacking, support completely stopped responding about an issue and it took days to figure out they still haven’t replied luckily I figured it out on my own because of an error their app had. Other than that have had 0 problems and never lost any money

Money lost. The exchange system is broken. You’re provided an estimate instead of a guarantee, and that estimate is largely inaccurate. I lost BTC to an exchange site and wasn’t told how much XMR I’d ACTUALLY receive from it until the BTC was already sent. That’s not how an exchange works. You should see a guaranteed send and receive amount and be able to choose if you want to do it based off of that, not based off of a gamble.
