Way better then others!. Way easier than other apps to learn Vietnamese

Excellent so far. I need to learn Vietnamese to be able to converse with my partners family, so far the easiest to understand and I love how it revisits words and such so far. It repeats the words and it’s working great when I follow along verbally.

Time paywall. Pretty nicely designed, but bad model to limit user lessons to a cooldown except behind a paywall. I’d rather deal with ads between lessons and be able to spend more time practicing, then when I feel ready to commit, pay to remove the ads. Hitting the first cooldown period was enough for me to decide not to pay and to uninstall the app.

Good app. I wish the app showed the images of the nouns with the translated words underneath because sometimes I can’t tell what the pictures are. I want to associate the Vietnamese word with the english one, rather than a picture. Also, I wish I could practice longer than 5 minutes a day.

I love it. It's really good and simple way to slowly learning a language. No punishment for getting things wrong! Ive only had it for three days but im definitely going to get prime!! : )

Great app but needs to improve some things. Amazing app! I would suggest for the drag to match, that it is dragging to match to icons and the English words because I get icons mixed up and it makes us focus on remembering the icons to the Vietnamese words rather than the Vietnamese words to their English equivalent

Gorgeous and engaging. Visually this is the best language learning app I’ve ever used full stop, and that visual engagement really helps me focus because I’m not wasting time trying to figure out how the app works. Also I like that for the most part, it doesn’t ding you for a wrong answer, it just gives you another shot and keeps going. I don’t see the point of having stressful strikes looking over you threatening to start the lesson over if you get too many wrong; this is a wonderful alternative. Keep up the great work, devs. I hope this app brings you a lot of success to add even more languages.

So far so good. What I think would help, is the pronunciation to sound every time you tap on the picture so you can hear it as many times as you’d like.

Love it!. I’m traveling to Vietnam later this year for a school project, and I downloaded this app to learn some basic Vietnamese so I could communicate with the students I will be working with. I’ve only used it for a day, but so far I’ve absolutely loved this app! I’ve already subscribed to the $2.99/ month feature and plan to use it every day up to my trip. Definitely recommend!

Four Stars. The app is honestly so great. The dictation is easy to follow and the app makes it fun and easy to learn. Compared to other apps, this one was the best. However there was some spelling mistakes that made me confused. In the app, bread is spelled Bánh mý but it’s actually spelled Bánh mì. I’m not sure if the different spelling is just a different way to spell it. But, I even asked a native speaker and they said it’s spelled Bánh mì and has never seen it spelled with a “y”. Also, I feel like there should be an update where it checks to see if you’re pronouncing the words right, or spelling the words right! Anyways, it’s a great app and I totally recommend it!

Cool. My favorite part about this app is the curated word list and the clear and slow pronunciation of each word. Of course it's difficult to learn a new language but the 5 minute limit is good too. I turned notifications off preemptively as I do with all apps but I'm sure that I'll come back to this to learn the rest of these words and my next language

This app awesome!. I just downloaded this app and I think it’s really good, the audio for the words are clear and it has a variety of different ways to learn in a lesson.

Great learning app! 📒. This app is amazing! I love how it gives pronunciations and adds in new words! One problem is, on your first lesson, I don’t like how you have to wait a certain amount of time before doing another lesson unless you rate the app. Some people don’t have an email to where they can rate. But, I love this app besides that!

Niceeeee. Pretty fun..I’ve used it a few minutes and have learned over ten words so far..I may even be able to read and spell a few less the accents..give it a try

Initial impression. I like that I get to listen to every word and it is helping with my pronunciation. I am a native English speaking and I have news using another language app for 2 weeks to start learning Vietnamese but while it was helping me learn sentence structure and reading, it didn’t always let me listen to how the words are supposed to be pronounced. I like that the voice on this app pronounces the words slower than other apps. One improvement that would make the app is better is if the english translation would stay with the image, some of the images are vague so it’s easy to forget what they mean.

Visual, tactile, and auditory learning with beautiful colors. I am half Vietnamese but was never taught the language. This is visually appealing with simple game like word and image associations making retaining terminology easy. I can’t wait to surprise my mom.

rude notifications. This is a great app and very helpful for helping you learn a new words in your chosen language. However, their notifications go off at all hours of the night, are rude, and I’m tired of them telling me “NO EXCUSES you always have 5 minutes!”: It feels like they are just talking down to and yelling at me. You don’t need to use caps, that is considered yelling. Also, not everyone has 5 minutes, some people are lucky to sit down and have a break for 5 minutes during the day let alone get on their phone to use an app. And if they do, they have other responsibilities to use that spare time on. Not everyone has 5 minutes of free time every day to do other activities. It’s NOT an excuse, it’s life. This app is great to use as a supplement as well and not everyone may want to use it daily, I don’t always have time to use this app but I have other methods of learning Vietnamese as my fiancé speaks it and I am able to hear it around the house so this app is a great supplement to that for me. I like the reminders but wish we could set up to remember to use it on our schedule like “remind me only on weekends” or “only on Tuesday and Thursday”. I would gladly give this app 5 stars, but I’m only giving 3 because of the rude notifications. If you get this app, I suggest having them turned off and making your own reminder, otherwise you will be woken up in the middle of the night being yelled at by this app.

Simple clean interactive. Building a vocabulary in any language is hard. This app helps keeps your focus by delivering short memorable lessons with pictures sound and interaction.

My first review I ever written. My native language was Vietnamese but I lost it when school wanted me to learn English. Now that I'm older, I want to teach my children and communicate with my grandmother. This is elementary school vocabulary but it's helping me a lot. This app is easy to learn, visually and auditory. Very aesthetically pleasing and minimalistic.

Awesome but pricey for full version.. The little games in this app is fun. Great way to remember the words and spelling. I get it .. good products are worth good money but not all of us have the luxury of being able to afford a new language app but at least I can play/ learn for 5 minutes every ten hours.

Very good. If you’re a visual learner I think this app will help u very much. I didn’t know I was a visual learner until I started learning Vietnamese with picture and drawings. At first I was like ‘ I’m not a kid I don’t need pictures and drawings..’ but I soon learned that they actually help u a lot. They help u remember the word. And it repeats the word a lot so you’ll remember it in no time. And it’s also important to repeat the word out loud, that can also help!! :)

Worth it so far. My family never got around to teaching me Vietnamese. So far the app is engaging and easy to navigate. I haven’t gotten to far into it but I wish there was an alphabet to learn individual sounds instead of just words. I’d say it’s worth a shot to download and give a shot.

Fun. This app is really easy to learn and fun and interactive too. Recommend to everyone who wants to learn Vietnamese. I’m Vietnamese and can speak it because of my parents but I never formally learned Vietnamese so my reading and writing skills are lower than an elementary schoolers’. Spectacular!. I am a Chinese-American living in Hanoi, fluent in both Mandarin and English and learning Vietnamese. In 3 years, Drops has been the best vocabulary acquisition tool I have found - although it should be noted that these are all South Vietnamese (Saigonese) recordings. So it’s lucky that I’ve got my phonics down for my part of Vietnam! Bonus for me that I learn a bit of Southern Vietnamese along the way ;)

Drops. I love this app this is the by far easiest way to learn the amazing language of Vietnamese. My grandmother came here from Vietnam and speaks no English this app taught me all that I needed to communicate with her in as little as 10 mins. The only down side is that you have to wait 10 hours for a new session and that’s why I recommend to pay for the premium version

Great!. I don’t usually leave reviews for any apps, but this app is fantastic! I recommend it very much, depending on your learning level and where you are right now with understanding the language. Is this app using Northern of southern dialect?. I am a first generation Vietnamese American I know a few words and phrases but am trying to learn to communicate to my family and I speak Southern dialect, I personally think that this app is great and is fun and it would be nice to have more than five minutes. I was just wondering if this app is using northern or Vietnamese dialect. Great work! please keep on going!

Better than Duolingo for Vietnamese. This app is simple and concise, easy to learn basics and build on them, and plays the pronunciation every time so you can hear it and practice repeating it. This is essential for Vietnamese because there is a lot of nuance in the pronunciation that aren’t present Latin-derived languages I have studied. Duolingo perhaps hasn’t been able to fund their Vietnamese lesson development department as thoroughly as some of their other languages, which are excellent. It was confusing to use and learn basics, they did not have the pronunciation of the words recorded to play upon the completion of each exercise.

This is a great app. My family is Asian and my learning of Viet was fading. I mostly talk English but my parents were angry. So I searched up and I found this it took me a long time. I love it and so does my family so Thank you very much for making this nice app I love it.🇻🇳🇻🇳🇻🇳🇻🇳🇻🇳🇻🇳 EDIT: So I am starting to get back in my Vietnamese school but I will still use this app this truly an amazing app!

learn vocabulary by topics. The best device to learn vocabulary by specific topics! I started working on the computer terms and all of them seem relevant so far. I appreciate the use of southern accent. To make the program better, I would add a button where you could hear or perhaps just read the word in a sentence. It’s an even better way to retain words. And it could be used as a clue to discover the meaning of the word.

Its ok app. So this app is very great for Vietnamese vocabulary. Pros: -Very fun activities -A lot of useful Vocabulary -Is free. Cons: -This app is only good if your trying to learn the Southern Vietnamese Dialect. -Can only learn 5 minutes per 10 hour. (Wont happen if you bought the premium) I only recommend this if your trying to learn the South Vietnamese dialect and trying to learn more vocabulary.

Great supplement to learning Vietnamese. Fast paced, but not overwhelming. I do wish that they would point out the differences in intonation. For example, some words the pitch is rising, falling or mid tone. This is a great supplement to learning a language. But if you want to learn more aggressively go with something like a Pimsleur or Rosetta Stone. But I still totally recommend this app! Good extra practice.

Really long wait. I’ll be honest, I like this app, because it is simple, and fun. What I don’t like is that you have to wait 10 hours for another lesson. That is an insane amount of time just for 5 minutes of lessons. I would want to be shortened, because it’s not worth to wait 10 hours just for 5 minutes of learning.

First lesson down. Platform is really easy to use and I was able to learn some basic food words in the first lesson (which is exactly what I needed as I am hungry and in Vietnam already!) platform seems even better than duo lingo for this particular language

First 5min. I only finished the first 5 minutes but this app makes me excited and I think it will actually help me learn the language at least a little bit, I have terrible memory so the only way I learn is repetition so this is perfect. So far so good. Update: just did a little more and found out I have to pay to learn more or wait 10 hours, so that kinda stinks but I guess they gotta get paid somehow, it would be cool if I could just watch ads or something for more learning time.

Makes sense. I just started this app. Compared to the four other CD sets and apps that I have used, this one makes the most sense. Easy to pick up the word/picture connections.

Great, shame about price. I'd pay a decent premium price for this app, it's very good indeed - far better than expected. The pricing model is not what I'd like though, and I will probably uninstall due to this. I'd have paid a one time premium price, so that's a shame..

Only played for five minutes but.... I’ve really enjoyed the interactive part of it. The different ways of learning like connecting bubbles or swiping to the right picture helps me memorize much better.

Wow, fun was to learn. I have to say, I’m been trying to learn a new language for so long now but every app uses the same type learning. This one is a little more interactive in that it turns it into a game rather than a lesson. Most apps have you learn predetermined phrases that make no sense sometimes but with this app you don’t have to worry about that. It teaches you word by speaking it and using a visual aid at the same time and this helps you use multi sense learning.

5/5 a very fun app for learning Vietnamese. I thought i would never even remotely understand the language. The only thing I know now is pronunciation is VERY hard!! I wish there was a video teacher to show me how to better speak! It could be animated even to show me which muscles to move to make certain sounds and accents. TL;DR 5/5 great app love the experience

It’s Fast. I don’t know any Vietnamese and just finished my first lesson. I felt like I was given new words too quickly but maybe that’s me. I feel like I need more time on one word to remember it. For 5 minutes a day, maybe tomorrow’s lesson will focus on enforcing what I learned today. The app is nice though with a native speaker saying the words (unlike Duolingo) and simple images to help you recognize the words more. Hopefully I can finally learn some Vietnamese! Thank you for this app.

Best language learner app!. I was once really good at Vietnamese when I was little, but then I had to go to school and that made me forgot Vietnamese words, but with this app it refreshes my brain.

Fantastic thing about it and want to include something.. I like how they use methods to help remember things. I want to include like, learn basic letters a little, like vowels and so on, even quizzes and test once’s you remember the words. Make it into mini quizzes.

This works!. Instead of hard memorization, this uses a visual and interactive method only spoken in the language one desires to learn.

Good starting place. Needs more spelling practice to really drill home words. But great because one of the few apps that is in the southern accent
