Very, very slow. This app used to be great, and it still is for the most part but it’s so slow that it’s nearly unusable. the buttons don’t work half the time, and it takes at least a second to type each letter. There are also a lot of bot-generated questions which are meant to make sure you’re still using the app, but they get very annoying.

Don’t even download. I had originally downloaded this app, believing that it was a good idea for my followers on instagram, and twitter as well, to ask questions. I thought this app was going to be friendly and a good environment, but boy was I wrong. Almost immediately, I was receiving negativity and hate towards me. It continued for months regardless of how many times that I had asked to PLEASE stop sending negativity and hate, but it continued. I even EMAILED these people who created this app, but they had said that there was nothing they could do if their name was anonymous even when their policy is against that type of thing. What do I recommend? Save yourself the time and effort and do not download this. Its just another toxic environment.

Horrible & Toxic. this app supports toxicity to the max. all this app allows is for people to be anonymously toxic to you and get away with it. and their membership feature is a letdown. it supports toxicity because why would i want hints on who is messaging me unless they were being toxic or getting personal with me? i have been bullied so much that i ended up paying for membership, just to get ridiculous tips like 'sender is in another city' 'sender's first tell in a while' like thanks for taking the last $1.99 out of my account. this app has caused me nothing but issues for years but now i am bringing this to light after being spammed multiple tells in one night by complete strangers of how awful i am and how gross i am. do not use this app if you have a sensitive mindset. and definitely do not give them money and support this. it's so toxic.

Report System is Too Dumb.. Why are tellonym users banned for answering tells sent to them? A user should not be afraid to answer tells. Point blank. I have gotten 12 accounts banned because of people sending me “kill yourself” messages, and i would keep replying with “id rather not.” Why do i get banned for that? Im not sending nor replying with anything rude, or mean. why not ban the one who sent me that tell? Why punish users for being victims of the cyberbullying your app allows? Why allow the cyberbullies to be set free while the victims are shut down? Fix your report system. Its ridiculous.

Issue. I have downloaded this app for so long and been using it without any problem but lately there's a problem should get fixed , I received tells and I'm about to answer but then the tells get disappeared mysteriously!! It's literally so annoying and make no sense why they're disappearing!! I literally read them and answering but also it's not showing on my account!! Please fix this issue because i like this app and i don't wanna delete it

Bot Questions. The bot questions are incredibly annoying. As a creator, I look forward to getting questions from those who read the things that I post, so every time I get a notification from the app I get excited because I’m expecting to see a genuine question that has something to do with what I’ve posted, but 99% of the time it’s just another auto generated question that is basic and not personalized at all. They questions are boring and pop up frequently and there’s seemingly nothing you can do to opt out of receiving them. At least with CC they gave you an option to stop receiving those kinds of questions but this app doesn’t, and it’s the most irritating thing in the world. I think I’ll take my chances with CuriousCat again or try out another platform/app because this one is hellbent on trying to get you to interact with it by sending stupid questions all the time.

Scam. I downloaded Tellonym and was initially excited about the prospect of asking and answering anonymous questions. However, my experience with the app has been disappointing. I have received random messages even though I never shared my link publicly, which makes me wonder about the security of the app. Additionally, the app prompts users to purchase hints in order to reveal the identity of the sender, which seems like a ploy to extract more money from users. While I appreciate the concept of anonymous messaging, the issues I have encountered with Tellonym have left a negative impression on me. I cannot recommend this app given the concerns I have outlined.

It isn’t thriving so user interface isn’t what it could be. It’s flooded with mostly high school kids. Hard to find someone my age range,(27), so I dont feel like a creep. There are not search filters. If you want to switch from anonymous to showing who you are then you have to unfollow and then refollow but then allow it. It’s just annoying. Also, it seems to be a trend that ppl like being asked questions to asking. So a lot of pages jus have the lame generated question from the app.

WORSE APP THAT APPLE ALLOWS. This app kills people, kids, adults, and everyone when they are targeted. What is said is that the users behind this app can send you NASTY, EVILL, VILE AND THREATENING messages to the user. This can be "completely" unknown users that hide or they can directly follow you. The app says they don't reveal information, but legally if the police are involved with this then the app legally has to reveal information on messages and the user behind it. It's against the law to cyber bully. Please parents and adults be aware of this app and the damage it causes. May seem like just another fun little app but Apple should not be allowing this on THEIR name. This app is killing kids, because of the way it's used and how it is used. It's sickness in this app behind the users that bully!!!!!!!

Blocking does not work for Anonymous Senders.. Tellonym claims that blocking works for anyone who sends an ask, both logged in users and anonymous ones, yet it does not. I’ve gotten the same harassing message that asks for my location spammed to me multiple times, and I have added ALL of those messages to my blocklist, only to find no end to them being sent to me. It doesn’t work. Do not recommend this App if constructive criticism is what you seek. You will get many of these harassers and almost no positive feedback at all.

Signing up. I’ve been having trouble signing up I’ve deleted the app and re-downloaded it and I’m still having the same issue. Every time I type in the user I want I keep getting the same pop up that’s says “Tellonym is getting better. We work on our servers to enhance your experience with Tellonym. Try it again in 5 minuets”. And I’ve been trying every couple hours and still the same pop up.

Toxic. I’ve been attacked multiple times by people on this app. Being told I’m ugly and that I should go die. Luckily I don’t take it to heart but someone out their will. Do not let your child download this. It’s terrible and people are cruel and ruthless. Being told to go kill yourself is never okay. I had to delete my whole account because it got so bad. Make it easier for people to block tells, and make it to where if it says certain things they don’t send. Make it a positive app to say positive things not negative.

Account. This app is great but if I want to login to another account it will delete the account I am into!!! If this app let’s me log out of the account I’m already in without deleting the account I’m already into and I can log into another account that will be better!!! It’s nice you can login to it with Google but if it will let me login to another account without deleting the account I’m already into that it used to let me that will be better than before!!!

The color please!!. I absolutely adore everything about this app but the color is too harsh on my eyes honestly, maybe make it to where people can change the color of the post they save to their camera roll or just their tell account in general

No notifications???. i love this app and it runs great and everything but i’m not getting any notifications when i get a new tell...? i’ve turned the settings in the app off and back on again and i’ve turned them off and back on again my phone settings but i’m still not getting them? if there’s any way to fix this it would be much appreciated! i love this app and keep up the good work!!

A few issues :/. I've been using Tellonym since CuriousCat went down and I've had a couple issues. Since CC seems to be back now I figured I'd send a review detailing those issues since if these things aren't changed there's a decent chance I'll just be going back to CC and I'm sure many others share my thoughts. First of all, THE BOTS. GET RID OF THEM. Everybody is saying it! The constant fake tells that are always being sent in are ridiculous and shouldn't exist. It's obvious that they're just trying to make the app seem more active than it is but all it really accomplishes is annoying people. Second of all, if you have your filters set to the lowest settings, then nothing should be being filtered? Right? ...Right? Well apparently not. And the app doesn't tell you what words or phrases aren't allowed nor does it tell you if something you send isn't allowed through. Instead it acts as though it sent the tell even though it didn't. It is very frustrating. Why would you have so much unnecessary filtering on an app made for anonymous messaging? Let people choose what gets filtered rather than deciding for them. You already have an option to filter specific words and phrases as well as different levels of automatic filtering so why not an option to just turn it off altogether?

DANGEROUS APP - DELETE!!!. The short version: Tellonym is toxic. Kids should not have it. Detail: This is an app that allows anyone to post anything about other users, while remaining anonymous. It is heaven for trolls who want to post the most vile, graphically violent, racist, misogynistic and sexual messages imaginable. Some messages seem to taunt users to consider suicide. (“Why are you even alive? Nobody likes you.”) In addition, Tellonym allows plenty run-of-the-mill cyberbullying like: “You think you have friends, Sophie, but we all really hate you.” And because the company promises it will never reveal who posts this garbage, there is nothing you can do but request to delete it (which they may or may not), and then calm your devastated child who installed the app behind your back, because “Everyone has it.” Oh, and it’s the perfect haven for pedophiles to contact tweens and teens, masquerading as kids themselves and asking your child seemingly innocent questions like where they go to school, or requesting that they post a photo! Found some of those, too. This does unbelievable damage to kids’ self-esteem and mental health. There is nothing good that can come of having this app. Check your child’s phone and if it’s there, talk to them about why you need to delete it.

Pretty okay. Not a bad app. I like it! Only downfall being when I try to share my profile on Snapchat when I try to take the picture, the widget goes away so the only way I can link it is through the paperclip. Also I wish the questions of the day or whatever they are were marked different so I could tell a question that someone has asked me from a question the app gives me.

I need help. I need help getting back into my account but it doesn’t have an option for your phone number for me to just put my Instagram information in instead they want information that I no longer have because I got a new phone I do not have the same Apple information which is really stupid because you can prove that you on the account just my regular login and that one of the extra stuff and too complicated for somebody I just want to get inside their accounts because I do not have a Twitter or my old Apple information and I can’t just log into my account need help getting back in too complicated

Please keep this in mind. This is a great app. I really do enjoy using this app because I can ask my friends questions without them knowing that it’s me asking. But after a while, I started getting some tells that contained some personal information that are very sensitive. Then a week later my friend started to get some tells saying things like “go kill yourself, no one cares about you” and “I heard you tried to hang yourself before. To bad it failed.” My friend, already being suicidal, started to believe these negative comments and has since began to question her existence. I am trying my best to help her, but these negative tells just coming in and it’s making it hard to convince her that she is wanted and that people do love and care for her. Please use caution while using this app.

I like it but there's a problem. Overall this is a really good app, but the links are no longer working. The only way to post things is to do it directly in the app now. I post my link in my Instagram bio so people can comment but the links are broken now for some reason. Please find a way to fix this or there's no reason for me to even have the app. Anyways, besides that, this is a really good app with a lot of potential.

DELETE THE APP NOW!!. This app is not good at all! Being able to be anonymous while posting things on here resulted into something that was probably not meant for this app! But it is one way for people to send threats. And this is happening to my school right now. Someone sent a message to a student at my school and said that they are going to shoot up our school, and kill everyone and anyone. This is no joke! This app should be deleted! This gives people a way to threat someone without being found. Now we may never know who this person is threatening our school. And we won’t know if we are safe until someone can get to the bottom of who is in charge of the threats! DO NOT USE THIS APP. They need to delete it ASAP!

Huge bot problem, don’t buy Tellonym Plus. I’ve been using Tellonym for probably 6 years at this point. It used to be a decent app, but for the past 4 years you’re constantly getting bot questions with no way to discern if they’re from real people or not. It was fine at first as it was one tell a day, but nowadays you get bombarded with multiple tells at all times of the day that stop if you don’t answer any questions for a few days. Tellonym then rolled out their subscription service a year or two ago where you can pay to see sender hints. I was curious and decided to subscribe to it to see how it works, and it turns out Tellonym has been adding sender hints to bot tells to make you subscribe to their service. On top of this, they make the bots like/react to the questions they sent in to make it seem as if a real person was sending them in. This has turned into a scam service, so it’s a shame thiscrush shut down.

Could be dangerous. While I have received nothing but complements and fun questions, it has the power to devastate others. One of the people I’m following is getting nothing but hate and death threats and overall serious cyber bullying. To make the app better, all people should be forced to create an account before sending tells in. One of the bully’s stated in his tell that he couldn’t be blocked or banned because he didn’t have an account. It is a serious mishap to let something like no account into the app, and I have to wonder what the creators were thinking by allowing it.

Sometimes I wish. I’ll be getting some weird messages about certain stuff and I wish that there was an app where I can see who’s sending them because they’re kind of creepy

Problem. There’s a problem with the tell when I share to my story on Instagram. There is no white box and the text isn’t black. The background is orange and the text is grey. Can you please fix this problem immediately thank you.

I like it😂. It’s a good app. I also seen some comments about how y’all should make it possible to log into multiple account at once cause lots of ppl use it through Instagram and some ppl like me have more then one Instagram account so I wanna make more account but don’t wanna log in and out of them all the time. Plus my bf has one and I can log into in form the website but I can’t like stay logged it yk. So ye I think that would be cool.

Automated Tells. There's too many bot/automated tells. I don't like these and I really want to disable them. They make me want to just uninstall the app. There needs to be an option to turn them off. I just find them annoying and a waste of my time. When I see a notification that I got a new tell I expect a REAL one from a REAL person. The bot ones are just annoying. Please make an option to remove them asap.

Help me. I cant believe myself I swear I install this app daily and delete it.. haha the company knows.. I always check if a new tell from my ex appears but unfortunately it’s been more than a big while 💔 I hope one day I will open it and see one💔

Please get back to me ASAP.. Last night, a student took a screenshot of an anxiety-inducing message sent anonymously to her Tellonym account. The sender of the message threatened that he would bring his guns to school, and commence a shooting during first period. This worried many students, who quickly spread it across Instagram as a warning to their friends and community members. Even the principal was alerted within an hour of the message posting, and the state police department was notified. If the developers could make this a reality, I think many situations like this could be prevented. Regulating the anonymous messages via flagged words or phrases and having a way to keep track of who sends the messages would be very much appreciated. I know it may be difficult for the developers to implement because of privacy rights, but this would be a great call. It is hard for the school administration to determine if this is a legitimate threat, and it would make it so much easier for us to solve this problem if these suggestions can be implemented. If this is possible in any ways, then please. Make it happen. We need to protect our schools and our students. I myself am a student, and I do not want to attend school with the fear that we could be next.

Used to be good, but now unusable. I used to like this app, yes people can be negative but that’s what happens when you let people talk to you 100% anonymously 😂 here’s the problem, I can’t even get through 1 tell without getting a “we need a break” pop up. This used to not be a thing, at least for me. Now I literally can’t use the app, can you please get your app together tellonym? Also, I’ve received hateful tells before and I address them respectfully. Sometimes I get a bit sassy, but I never say anything inappropriate! Then I’ll get warnings telling me to not answer those tells because those people were inappropriate, that should not be my fault! I answer all tells good or bad, and because people decide to abuse your system shouldn’t be my fault. If somebody tells me to kill myself or something I’m going to reply, I won’t be inappropriate like they were, but I will reply most likely with a sarcastic answer with a lot of laughing faces 😂

No longer a fan. I loved this app for a while but when I first opened my account, I logged in using my Instagram account INSTEAD of creating a password. When my phone reset, I was under the impression I could use that same information to get into the account. Somewhere along the line, that was changed without my knowledge and I hadn’t created a password or linked to an email. Customer service was no help whatsoever and I’m now permanently locked out of my account. Like I said, used to love it. Now I’m not a fan

Bots.. I like this app, I think it’s cool. BUT, most of the questions you get aren’t really from your friends. There are questions that are so clearly from the app itself and not a friend, and it’s frustrating. Questions asking about bands I know none of my friends have ever heard of, and all my friends seem to get the same question asking if you could live without the internet. The app is a cool idea, but it’s stupid if most of the questions and tells aren’t even real. If you guys could just get rid of that feature my review would be higher, it just makes users feel stupid, like we can’t handle going a day without a tell so you slip us a fake one. Just remove it. It’s pointless.

It’s Fine and It Works. First off, I downloaded tellonym when curioiscat suddenly disappeared. It’s been an adequate replacement to let my followers send in ideas and comments and the like. The problems I have for it are 1. The app itself frequently prompts you to add personal information you may not want tied to an account online (occupation, gender, phone number). This may be fine for people who use it casually with friends attached to a personal account, but it’s not so good for online creators who stay somewhat anonymous. 2. The bot questions the app generates on its own are VERY annoying. They’re very basic question that are not fun to answer and just exist to help get tellonym’s name out there. If you delete them, another will come in a few minutes. These need to be gotten rid of to not clog up the inbox or send a notification that there’s a question when it’s just a boring question generated by the app. This is my BIGGEST complaint with tellonym. Get rid of the bot questions. If I want fake questions not sent by friends or followers that badly, I can just anon them to myself. It’s the same amount of genuine interaction with followers 😑

Love this app but it’s missing a few things. 1) Can you PLEASE make it an option to turn off the suggestions of people to follow? It’s really obnoxious. 2) Also, I don’t know if this happens to anyone else, but my notifications on my phone and on the app say that I’ll get badges/banners/etc when I get a new tell but that never happens? I don’t know if that’s a glitch or it’s just me it’s happening to but please look into it. I really do love this app. Aside from the occasional rude or judgmental tells I’ve received, it’s a really good distraction for me!

My views on the app: pros and cons. There’s are many cons as well as a few pros about this app. In my own personal experience I can surely tell you that I have gotten a lot of tells with threats, homophobic and transphobic rants, and other harsh things. This is very bad for those who have already bad mental health or children. Parents my suggestion is highly monitor this app on your child’s phone if they have it and if they get any bad tells delete it from their phone. The only pro I could think of is my friends now boyfriend flirted with her using the app and now they’re dating so yay for them. Other than that this app is bad for children or anyone with un stable mental health my own.

SCAM!!!. when i go to the website from a link in someone’s bio, it only shows one tell and it says to download the app to see the rest of the tells. so that’s exactly what i did. when i went on the app it still only showed me that one tell. i sent a tell to see if i need to send a tell to be able to see the rest but they still didn’t show. it’s false advertising because no matter what, you can’t see the rest of the tells and that’s why this app is sucky.

I Love It. I mostly love the app, Its really easy to use and fun. But theres this bug which makes asks appear twice or thrice and it very annoying to delete them. I think there should be a choice if you choose to share your location or no in the app and if there could be a feature to allow askers to add embed links and pictures. Overall a good app.

It seems fake most of the time. I’m 90% certain that most of the tells you receive are pre-written/made by the tellonym team themselves. They word their questions in ways that sound like a textbook. They even send some that seem like they are from friends by tweaking some words into text slang. They fake, this is fake. They are lying to you. Most messages are from Tellonym themselves. You be oversharing your stories and info and in a way making yourself look like an idiot. I wish Tellonym was 100% genuine.

Not so good anymore. It’s not letting me post. I can type the responses but when I click share it keeps loading. It’s just not wanting to work I’ve tried resetting it and trying again and it’s just not working. I love this app and it’s easy to use but it’s just a new bug. I’d love to comeback and use this app again.

Great app!. The core of this app is an excellent idea, and I do like communicating here from time to time. I have noticed a rendering error or two when using the app on this iPhone SE (2020) running iOS 15.6.1. Looks like it has something to do with the aspect ratio on these devices being different from most other iPhones currently. Anyway, overall good stuff!

Love it! Except... Love the app, the only thing I despise is the “are you done sharing?” Notification. Can’t find a way to turn it off, and I’ve seen others couldn’t either do I don’t think it’s possible. I don’t mind the boys asking questions, but that one notification drives me up the wall. Might not be as bad if it only asked it once a day, but I hate having it come up every single time I exit the app. Otherwise, it’s a fun app! My followers seem to enjoy asking me anonymous things.

Gr8 bUt one fix pls!. When u get a notification for someone liking ur comment it should say that someone liked ur comment instead of their name, if the person who sent it likes it it shows their name in the notification but not on the actual comment, so you know so sent it, which defeats the point if it being anonymous :/

Tellonym. I like Tellonym. I often read paper books. With Tellonym social media has words! Thank you. I do not like auto-renewing charges. I tried to buy a beer emoji, and logged in with my Apple ID. My account had insufficient funds, or I would have paid Tellonym one dollar. I will see if I can try again.

First time user. I have only been using it for about two hours and let me just say it is really easy to use and to share to different social media sites :) I liked it

Word filter doesn’t work. I have nine words on my word filter list (all relating to romance and dating, which I’m not interested in), and yet I keep getting Tells with those words in them (ex. Stuff about “what do you look for in a boyfriend”, “what to do about my ex”, etc.). It’s been this way since I put the first word on my word filter. It is annoying, and I’ve begun to block people because of it. Please save me the use of the block button and actually have the app enforce my filter list.

coo. p cool app i get quite a lot of tells some being hate & ive noticed that when you “block user” if they go through a different app & have the link, they can still send messages. you guys should block the persons IP from the account so they wouldnt be able to view it. its a very easy loophole to get around lol just leavin feedback

Real?. I downloaded the app in hopes of curing my boredom, and I got a lot of tells. However, I don’t know if they were real or not, considering that the app kept pressuring me to repost the questions and answers on my other social media platforms. When I didn’t repost, the questions kind of stopped in a way? So I kind of think that this app might just have a bot controlling the whole thing 🤷🏼‍♀️? Other than that concern, this app is kind of hard to navigate, but it’s good for q&a’s and curing your boredom.

Add a few buttons plz. I post my tells on my instagram for others to see and it’s really difficult to save a large amount in my camera roll since I need to press two buttons, but out of the 91 tells I have, I accidentally pressed “delete” when I didn’t mean to, therefore deletes the tell I was going to save. It would be greatly appreciated if you could add the “are you sure to delete this tell” button. Another thing I wanted to say was when I save the tell onto my camera roll, the whole thing goes in instead of ellipses, I sometimes explain or people who sends me tells writes a lot so it would be also greatly appreciated if you could make the font smaller or the bottom pfp or something smaller so that the whole thing fits?? I’m so sorry but this would make me happy and I don’t know if anyone think so too

It’s actually good. It does what it says and it’s really simple to use and I never had any problems besides one it says I have a certain amount of followers but when I check it only shows I have certain amount which is less so idk if it’s a bug but other than that I get the messages and it’s easy to use

Not Impressed. My teenager downloaded this app. I ended up getting her to delete it as it’s the easy way for bullies to bully you. Not impressed

Spam bots. Glitch. Bullying. Unsafe app.. Full of spam bots and artificial tells. App glitches and drains battery like crazy. Bullying incidents are at an all-time high, with little to no moderation, resulting in a cesspool of rampant trolling, toxicity, and a flood of inappropriate content among young users. Absolutely atrocious!

Fix it. Fix your app I keeps saying try again in 5 minuets I have done that and I reset the app fix it please I can’t read what people have said to me

Good app besides small glitch. Recently (for maybe the past month) I cant see anything on my feed from the people I follow and the app is stuck on having 35 notifications and there’s nothing I can do to fix it as I can’t access anything on my feed :/ please fix this!

iPad version in landscape please!. Love this app as I use it daily on my iPhone but I wish I could use it on my iPad as well and also in landscape on my iPad as that’s how I mainly use my iPad in. But this is a great app and will continue using it daily on my iPhone and hopefully on my iPad soon too when they make an iPad version of this where you can choose to use the app in portrait mode like on the iPhone or landscape mode for the iPad.

Don’t download this app.. My 13 yer old daughter attempted to commit suicide due to being bullied on this app. She has received none other than down grading tells from kids at her school. She has been told to kill her self multiple times. This app is disgusting. Yeah

Tells from the company. I downloaded this app and it has been really good, I’ve gotten mostly nice stuff, but now that I haven’t put it on my story’s or something it’s getting quite annoying when I get tells from the company and sometimes I’m unable to know weather the question or thing said was from someone I know or from Tellonym. I don’t like this, I think the company shouldn’t send tells because it would be nice to be able to differentiate between who is saying it and if no one is saying anything then so be it.

Bullied By This. I downloaded this because I saw another account have it and it seemed cool. At the beginning, it was ok. The tells I were getting were nice and friendly. Recently I have been bullied on this app. I know it is not the apps fault for what people think of me, but I think the fact that this is anonymous makes people think it’s ok because I won’t find out who it is. Don’t recommend if you feel their is a chance you will get bullied.

Issues. This app is BAD! My phone was stuck on the “loading screen” for 2 days and the only way I could fix my phone without wiping it completely was to wait for it to die, which mind you literally took 2 days to shut down on it’s own because when my brother and I tried to shut it down we kept accidentally calling the emergency service and also lead to me being stuck on SOS which kept sending SOS messages to my emergency contacts. Please be careful when downloading this app, it’s a scam but if you still decide to download it backup your phone to the iCloud or what ever you devices storage is called just in case watching it’s slow battery percentage loss doesn’t work for you and you have to wipe your phone.

This app is good. The only thing I don’t like about this is that there is auto generated tells. It’s pretty annoying because I’m never sure if it was a veiled asking the question. I think that there should be a control button for it. Other than that it’s good (other than the bullying that happens)

It’s good but I’m getting bullied. I’m choosing to delete for my inner peace. I blocked and reported the person who is cyber bullying me but somehow they can still send a message so I have no choice to delete app. The cons outweigh the pros

Harassment. I got it to feel happy and get compliments but really! Most people use it for bullying. Parents I don’t recommend getting it as it can cause a lot of things mentally. A lot of kids say some horrible things and uncomfortable things. Teens don’t need to get so much hate we already have so much drama going to happen in life. Please fix it. The app is great apart from this new update. Ever since the update it won’t even launch on my phone. I have deleted it and re downloaded it five times and I’ve reset my iPhone and checked for another update but nothing. It won’t even get past the loading screen it just crashes. Disgusting bullying app. This app is disgusting and needs to be removed. My daughter has accessed this app at the age of 13 and the tells that have been sent to her are rude, filthy, harassing, bullying, intimidating, downgrading, belittling and the list goes on. These kids do not need to be exposed to this. This will lead to teen suicide and mental issues. I will be doing everything I can to stop this app.

Glitch. Keeps saying you are trying to make it better but it won't let me log in or send tells

I didn’t like it. I didn’t like it because I was getting a lot of hate and I understand that that isn’t the app makers fault but the people that are on the app are just plain rude

Also my friend under a different account put “please don’t ask me questions” in their bio since they take anon requests for a userbox account and they still get questions regularly seemingly from bots or automated in some way. Most of the questions are bots or trolls

Bot questions. The bot questions make this app awful. Give an option to disable bot questions. It’s infuriating reading generic boring questions over and over again

Bullying. The bullying on this app is horrendous I have seen a few of my friends get this app and every single one of them got numerous hate tells since the app is anonymous anyone can say anything abt someone else no matter how rude

Auto-generated tells defeat the purpose. The auto-generated tells are disguised to look like real ones and it suuuucks. wish you could turn it off cuz i love the concept but i actually wanna reply to real people.

Easier for bullies to hide. I am aware this isn’t the app makers fault but this app is mostly just used for bullying. My ex and his wife gave themselves away with the type of anonymous tellonyms they sent but its just disgusting. Tells with trigger words should be reviewed first before being sent to the person. Might save a few lives. Not everyone can handle extensive and extreme bullying.

Bots + Other Issues. Aside from getting scripted tells (which has been a problem for the past few years) i’ve seen a lot of bot run accounts following my account and liking my posts nearly every time i reply to a tell. Despite these issues the app is one of the better platforms for QnA’s and performs well the large majority of the time. I just hope that addressing the earlier issues can improve the app for everyone

Review. This app is fun to use, but only if no one has anything against you, it could easily be used for cyberbullying. I’d only download it if you’re confident that no one is gonna abuse the power of anonymous posting against you.

Bad notification. I get a notification saying I have a new tell, I go to open it and there’s nothing there whatsoever. This has happened about 60 times. I’ve had friends send me tells and me not receive them. Switch to YOLO. Tells is honestly so dodgy and fake.

Bots. Would be a gray app if it’s didn’t have bots

Mixed feelings. Look the idea of the app isn’t bad, but the subscription cost is way to high for what you’re paying for and it’s freaking a weekly fee (for what you get that rate should be for a monthly subscription, hints to help reveal who sent the tells well here’s the stupid thing they’re so vague that there’s ɴᴏ way to tell who sent it ᴅᴏɴ’ᴛ TAKE THE SUBSCRIPTION IT’s WORTHLESS

Tis ok. The app itself is ok. There’s a lot of reviews mentioning people sending mean and hateful things, but I haven’t received anything like that at all. The one thing I didn’t like was the subscription portion to read ‘hints’. You have to pay whatever amount a week to be able to see the hints, but the hints are useless. The hints are supposed to help give an idea about who sent the post. But how is ‘this person sent more questions like this’ or ‘this person has asked other people this question’ supposed to be a hint. I canceled the subscription the same day I got it.

Stop pestering me!. This is a really fun app, reminiscent of formspring or ask.fm! However: the constant, persistent attempts to have you link your phone number etc are extremely annoying. Note to the developers - the chances of someone entering their number, contact list etc is probably much higher if they don’t have to choose “skip message” *6* times in a row.

Problems with popup error messages. Great app overall! It lets users send anonymous messages and questions that they may not normally ask if identified. Obviously all social media will have some form or cyberbullying but my overall experience has been positive. That being said, I have noticed that for the past few days/weeks on and off more frequently now, my tellonym sends error messages such as oops something went wrong; we are in the process of fixing it and it never fully goes away. There have also not been any reports of crashed servers or issues with the app. I don’t want to reinstall and risk losing all my tells that I can't send because of these issues please fix this and soon!

Cyber bullying!. Me and my friend are being bullyed from this app. It’s gone so worse that people are making fun of people’s dead family members. My school and the police have gotten involved in this and we are not happy about this app, we do not recommend this bullying app.

I think this may be social media *snake oil* will report to App Store. I’m on Mastodon, and I follow someone who is also here. Based on the App Store description given, notice the numerous drops of the word ‘friend’ not ‘stranger’ or randomized questions, is this representative of how the app actually works. I say that because I’m on an instance for a particular group, and we both got asked the same question for a group we aren’t apart of. So the anon link we give people appears to not be always them when we get a question. Actually, if that’s happening on any level, all of the questions we are getting may not be from any one using the personalized link that is suppose to send it to our profile. If the response rate is 3%, 10% or whatever, it would be in their interest to have us get the same question to bump up engagement, and if I am getting answers and I only get one, where do the answers that come after for the same question going? Maybe it should be clearer on how it’s used and how questions are allocated and duplicated.

too many bots. i’m a video editor and love the aspect of anonymous messaging for questions/requests. there’s too many bots to know what a genuine question is so i wish this was something we could get rid of.

stop sending me fake messages. the app is fine, but it keeps sending me generic questions in my inbox, it even started before i shared my account with anyone. i know they’re not from real people. i didn’t get the app to get questions from bots. stop sending them to me.

Thought. The only thing I will give credit for is the fact that they have the little faces so you can see who sent the tell, but I still strongly agree with they should send the username instead of “sender was in another city” or something like that. I’d like to know who sent it so I can block them without having to block all of the accounts on tellonym

So me and my girlfriend got this app because it was something new had it for a while now and I’ve read some really disturbing stuff and threats and bullies this app bring out really toxic people and I don’t think it should exist it should be shut down and same with yolo app sorry Snapchat but there really toxic people there to so my advice don’t download this app

Big problem. I think this app isn’t safe unless u are very mentally tough. People can be very mean and they use this app as a way to convoy a message.

Deleting. Too many bots.. It’s a fun app to be fair, I put the link in my bio every now and again, it’s good, however they try to inflate your questions by throwing bot questions at you. Not just one, like four a day. If you do answer one, it’ll make the bot like the comment so they pretend it’s not a bot. It’s gotten to the point I just don’t use the app and am now deleting it altogether.

Fake tells spam my feed. I literally feel like quitting the app. I get like 10 tells a day when I have 0 followers and 0 following. If there’s no way I can distinguish which tells are fake and which are real, I’m quitting. I hope the developer team will assist me in this. I’ll give me details and let me know like how much percentage of them are fake, cuz even if 80% are fake there’s no fun in using the app.

the new update makes the posting process 100x slower. posting absolutely anything on snapchat is a nightmare now, it used to take about 15-40 seconds to post one tell, but not it takes 120-150. i might start using another app because of this. please never make me save things to camera roll if i don’t have to. it’s awful, and if you don’t change it i will switch apps. <3

Pretty good. It’s a pretty good app. I have a few ideas for improvement, though: 1. Posts. I think that you should be able to post on your own profile without having to send yourself a Tell. It’s annoying if you have to clarify something from one of your past Tells, so starting a stand-alone Tell that states that it’s you posting it would be good. 2. Editing. I think you should be able to edit your own replies. Too many times I’ve been targeted specifically because of an autocorrect typo. (by friends, but still) 3. Advertising. You really need to get this app out there more. I only know of it because of a friend follows a popular Instagram account with a Tellonym. 4. Threads. I think that there should be a separate section for conversations. Many anonymous people can comment on an idea and discuss it. One account can post a question or comment, and other people anonymously discuss it/make conversation. 5. Polls. I think it would be fun to post a poll that you’ve made, and have your friends/followers anonymously vote. I’m certain I would use it often. 6. Replies. This is similar to the threads one, but have multiple people reply to one Tell. Otherwise, it’s a really solid app with room for improvement.

Not working. I noticed that i wasn’t getting any tells, so i used my sisters phone to try to send myself one but it didn’t work.

Pretty good. It’s a good app and there is a possibility to get negative messages but that’s the risk you take if you download it.

Bullying. I downloaded this app so I could check out my school’s (a student made it) and people keep talking behind my back and bullying me non stop. It’s also full of perverts and students that keep saying “oh she had a big chest” on other girls and talking about nudity. Why did you even make this app??

Hasn’t been working. I say this app is worth a 4-5 star rate but for the past day it hasn’t been working I haven’t even been able to get on the app without a pop up saying “we are making tellonym better check back in 5 minutes” I understand that they have to do maintenance but they have no information with what is wrong which is the reason for the one star.

😊. I like doing Q & A’s and responding to what people have to say it’s really cool. I also like how you can see who’s the person sending you the tell depending on the user you know ? For like safety reasons.

Depressing. Most of the tells I got were clearly from bots. If I wanted to spend time replying to AI messages I’d use chatGPT or something. The fact the the app gives you a notification every time you answer something within the app that makes you re enter the app to get rid of is also stupid. It banks on neurodivergent behaviors to boost screen time within the app.

Fun idea, but.... It’s a really convenient way of receiving an anonymous messages. However the fact that some messages are auto-generated by the app is so deceitful and insidious. It undermines the point of getting honest feedback and questions from my followers. If the app did not have that “feature” I would have given it five stars, but unfortunately it does.

Is the app sending me messages?. It feels like the app is just sending me messages and not actual people because me and my friend got the same message, I was just wondering if I could get an answer because idk if I should even respond to some of my messages.

i love the app BUT.... but the “share profile” button that continues popping up when you view your profile is extremely annoying, and i would give this app 5 stars if they would remove that, and instead make it less obnoxious

Absolute garbage. I am aghast that the developers of this app ever thought this would be a good idea - anonymity can be so trivially abused. Parents - your children will screenshot the “tells” they’ve received, de-anonymise them (possibly incorrectly), then post screenshots of them publicly on other social media (e.g. Instagram). The amount of drama this can cause is endless. Developers - do the world a favour and pull your service and this app. You clearly have zero clue about how humans (especially teens!) actually function in social contexts.

Program. Maybe I am just too old, but whenever I try to send thru Snapchat something goes wrong and it doesn’t go all the way thru!

Not Secure. I deleted the app a month ago and decided to redownload the app, I put in my password and it said it was wrong. So I tried to reset my password using the email set to my account. And I put in that password and it said it was incorrect, when it was correct. I really don’t want to make a third account I know my password this is ridiculous for real. Someone help.

Meh. I love the app personal but you really should get rid of the automatic question or bots. I use this app to let my followers ask me questions anonymously but I don’t have the time to answer all of of them especially when half are bots and I can’t tell the difference. These should be a disable bot switch or something.

It’s okay...but. I wish there was a way to find out who the account belongs to once blocked? There’s a lot of ways for cyber bullying to be made easier with this app and I understand it’s a have at your own risk sort of thing but allowing a way for users to sort of figure out who’s sending them nasty hate messages and even DEATH THREATS would be a good idea.

Auto questions. I love this app and all, except I don’t like the automatic bots that give you questions it gives other people everyday. Wifi only and this isn’t a dating app. I was on the road one road trip and had 5 bars and I was like ok then I tried responding to some tells and it said no internet connection also I would like to add that there are people who treat this like a dating app and asking children about how do you break up with an EX isn’t this app 12+ anyway

Fake questions automatically sent by app. You will be asked very strange and personal questions on the app about things your friends would never ask. I noticed some questions were fake since other users received same questions as me like asking what they want in a partner or their opinion on something personal. It's never something silly or goofy and I think this app just makes people spill things they shouldn't and create drama.

Like the idea but.... I sent only one person a message with the link on Snapchat as a test (my best friend) and I received 6 replies [despite the fact that he hadn’t even opened the message yet]. Fake spam messages. Created by bots. Could be a better app if the messages weren’t computer generated. They’ll probably delete this review soon so share it around and support it if you see the same messages like: “Best place for a picnic?”

Accounts will randomly delete. All my friends had this app so I decided to give it a try. But every time I tried to make an account it would delete it! I made three different accounts within an hour and got too upset to try and make ANOTHER one after the third account got deleted. Why were my accounts getting deleted? Why did none of my friends experience this glitch? Please explain developers!

First time user. I have only been using it for about two hours and let me just say it is really easy to use and to share to different social media sites :) I liked it

0 stars. I would’ve given it 0 stars but it won’t let me. I’ve had Tellonym for 3 years and all I’ve gotten was hate. Not just some random hate, I got death threats. They even said they have my IP address and they were coming to kill me. I actually stayed up for an entire week with my gun getting ready to defend myself. I should’ve sued Tellonym.

It’s great but.... I made a Tellonym account, but it doesn’t receive tells that have been sent to me. When I made an alt account, it immediately got tells from bots. Other than that, I think it’s a great app! You can send tells beautifully! But, the whole reason I made a Tellonym account was to get tells.

Way too many ads. The tells page is inundated with ads, it draws back an otherwise very good experience.

The excessive blatant bots. I got tells before even posting it on my story, like immediately 5 minutes after I got a tell when I just put it on my bio. The boys are dumb and take up space, it’s not something that makes the app better I don’t wanna scroll through like 20 tells and 6-8 are just bot questions

we need a break. I love tellonym and I use it daily to chat with my beloved ones but there is a message that annoys me and keeps apearing from time to time telling me that I need to take a break or something can you please fix this ? because its making me frustrated thank you

Annoying. It’s kind of annoying. When you use the app it signs you out automatically, then when you want to sign back in, it says that your account wasn’t associated with the app. Why does it do that? You really need to get this problem checked out. Instead of kids having multiple accounts while using it, they should only endure one account.

Notification/loading problems. I don’t know if it’s the new update or not but lately it’s been telling me I have a new tell but won’t show me the actual tell until like fifteen minutes later no matter how much I try to refresh the page.

Add signing in more than a account feature. I really like tellonym but i wish to add singing / logging in more than account

It’s good. I like this app! It’s pretty fast and fun :) it would be cool to add a multi account option, and sometimes the like feature glitches and the like gets erased 🤷🏻‍♀️ good app overall! I recommend trying it!

Fix this problem!!. This is app is one of my favourite apps but yesterday something started happening to it, it started saying no connection when i had great connection. Very good! One thing. This app is very good and I love it. It is cute and private. However, I would like to suggest a feature: the ability to add another account so we can switch in between accounts in-app.

Disappointed/Happy. I’m disappointed they updated it because now I can’t read my tells it’s very annoying everytime I even try to it says their empty, even though I’ll get a notification for them. It’s great n all but fix this.

NEW SNAPCHAT Post- Bad. The new way of posting where it saves a picture to your gallery is just not good at all. I personally don’t want all those useless pictures just building up in my storage. It’s a huge waste and just annoying way to post. Please go back to the simple “post to Snapchat” where it automatically makes a post and no saves.

Help. For the past like 4 days now it's been saying "Something went wrong. We are already working on a solution. Sorry for the inconvenience." and I don't know what to do. I'm pretty sure I did nothing wrong so idk why this is happening. Overall the app is pretty good but I can't even sign in the app.

Great for my discourse account. I run a discourse account on Instagram and this app is pretty good for people to ask questions without me having to go like “UWU Q&A TIME BOYS. The only issue is that it’s very easily abused by people who don’t agree with you... but other than that it’s pretty easy to use and I like it!

Stop the bots. Would be better if I knew I was getting real asks as opposed to the same recycled bot questions. What makes it worse is you pay for the premium to get hints and the bot questions don’t ever say it’s from them. So it’s like not only are you wasting my time but you wasted my money also. Thanks.

Pretty good. Fine app for its purpose. I’ve been using it for years, but the last few months it’s been deleting my older unanswered tells, pretty much any older than a week. A bit disappointing.

I got a Virus from it!!. Okay so I have had this app for 2 days and my phone started making this beeping noise and it wouldn’t stop. So I turned my phone off and back on. It still wouldn’t stop so I deleted a different app that I got on my phone just a couple of days ago and it still kept beeping. Then I deleted this app and it stopped beeping. I got my phone checked and it was a virus from this app! Don’t get it!!!!!! It is a good app but I don’t need a virus.

Profile Picture. I’m witnessing an error where when i try to upload a profile picture the app says No Internet Connection but i can remove and take a photo simply with no errors, and by far the app works completely fine with me thanks.

Wayyy too many fake/bot messages. You get a tell as soon as you register and haven’t shared your page, and a lot of the questions asked seem written very unnaturally and i can tell it’s no one i’ve shared it with sending these. i know it’s to keep engagement, but i don’t even want to respond to any tells if it could be a bot, i wish there was a way to turn it off

Cyber bullying bate. Wouldn’t recommend.. I found this app through a friend of mine, so I downloaded this app and had some people being rude to me through the app. just got it again and a few minutes in I start getting rude comments about me personally. I got rid of the app for good. Wouldn’t recommend at all. Especially for teenagers. You’d need a real thick skin to get this. Hate it. Don’t get this, trust me. Please.
