Some puzzles are worded poorly. It's great to have a proper Layton game on iOS. This is on par with the style of the other Layton games, and the interface even mimics a 3DS (separate top-half and bottom-half visuals, and you'll only touch things in an area in the bottom half). I've got to say, though - several of the puzzles are worded awkwardly or confusingly. (For example: a question asks which of these three things do you see every day, and the answer is the one that only appears at night.) A few of the early puzzles are fairly complicated, and the poor wording does nothing to help them. Also there's a lot of plot between the puzzles, so this isn't the kind of game you can pick up for a minute here and there. (I'd love to have a game consisiting of nothing but all the puzzles from previous Layton games.) There's a feature to sync your progress to the cloud, but it's not automatic, so (for example) if you left your iPad at home and forgot to upload your progress, you'll be behind on your iPhone. Still, it's an enjoyable game, well-presented and fun to play!

Perfection. I grew up playing the professor Layton series, and I loved each game so much, when I would hear that a new one had come out we would immediately pick it up and I would lock myself in my room till I had gone through every nook and cranny, and now, after years of the series end, it's being picked back up again! I'm just too happy. And the gameplay is just like the 3ds games of the series, even the music resembles the same style in the games. Truly amazing.

:(. takes up too much space!!!

AAA experience.... ...on your phone. If we as iOS gamers want quality, we must support titles like this.

The Truth is Stranger Than Fiction!. What a wonderful port to mobile! I am an otaku for anything Layton! And a puzzle fanatic too. Even the music is my cup of tea! Hope they bring more Layton games to mobile...though I heard that there is a Layton 7: totally psyched!!!

No iPhone X screen support. The content is good, but please support the notched displays in iPhone X and iPad Pro.

No where close to the original stuff. This game is not even a shadow of the original Professor Layton series. I am midway through the game and am tired of reading through all the unnecessary feel good dialogues between the characters. The originals had a minimal number of dialogues that were succinct and to the point. The mysteries themselves are also very childish, and the puzzles are designed to appeal to elementary school children. Please bring the professor and his assistant back.

Lost All of My Saved Progress. I’ve lost all of my saved progress.

Wonderful game!. I've been waiting for a new Professor Layton game since the last one came out. I was taken aback when I learned about this game since the lovely Hershel Layton isn't in the game, but I fell in love with Kat. I have barely started the game since it happened to come out the day before Splatoon 2, but what I've played has been very enjoyable. I like how they kept certain mechanics like the hint coins and the investigating style. The new puzzles are very enjoyable. The only thing that I think the game could improve on is adding a feature where you can rewatch cutscenes. Besides that one little thing, this game is flawless. Also, since it's made by Level-5, the game has little to no glitches and bugs. The only thing I've got left to ask is WHEN ARE WE GETTING FANTASY LIFE 2?!

The apple didn't fall too far!. Daddy's little girl, Kat is just like her dad, in the sense that she's super smart, has a keen sense of observation, and just a little bit of womanly charm. This game is just like the original Layton games. I personally enjoy the story so far, and do not mind the (beautifully animated) cutscenes. Gameplay and puzzles are about the same, and hint coins galore! The option of changing Kay's wardrobe instantly appealed to me, and I am contemplating buying the Luke outfit, along with the Emmy and Layton ones. Thanks, Level 5! Remember, folks: "A true lady never leaves a puzzle unsolved."

More than worth it!!. If you enjoy puzzles you’re in for a treat. My favorite Professor Layton game so far!

Bugs. The app it great, I bought it right when it came out and had a lot of fun with it. However when I tried to play it again after a break, the app would not open. It would close right away when I would try to close it. I updated and tried to turn off my iPad, etc and nothing. Sadly I did not back up the data and lost everything since I had to delete and reinstall the app. The story is interesting but I am definitely not redoing 20 hours of game from scratch. I wished the support was better as you have to pay for the game, if you buy it for that much then you should be able to play it and not get an app that crashes all the time.

Tedious UI and Pacing. The user interface is slow and tedious, requiring tons of tapping and switching menus or screens. Much of the dialog is fluff, doled out in single sentences, each requiring two taps to get through, unless you wait for them to be slowly typed out and tap at the end. The first two mysteries are solved merely by tapping through the tedious interface. Most of the puzzles in that time are random rewards for tapping around the screen, with very few puzzles relating to the case in any way. After several hours of play, I just couldn’t be bothered to continue tapping my way through in hopes of finding something fun.

Just perfect. I got to re-kindle my love for the Professor Layton games with this app! It's so wonderful!

Good game but. Katrielle and Ernest should have kissed. This is an injustice that I cannot tolerate.

Keep it Up. Keep making real games, we need more of them on the App Store.

Worthy entry in the Layton franchise. Ever since Curious Village released on the Nintendo DS, I loved the Layton series. I would await each new game with great excitement. When Level-5 announced that Layton would be returning I was beside myself with excitement, nearly crying while watching this game's trailer for the first time. I had a countdown all ready. I was so incredibly excited. And I have to say, this game was all I was hyped up it would be. The puzzles are noticeably different, but they still felt like they had the Layton charm. Solving the puzzles was a satisfying experience. The stories being small and episodic was kinda disappointing at first when they announced it, but through playing the game I had a fun time going through each Case and awaited to see what kind of mystery we would be solving next. It still had some overarching mysteries and I completely immersed myself in them. I turned off notifications to play without interruption and I even missed an invitation to go to lunch with somebody, but this game was completely worth staying at home. If you are a Layton fan, this is a wonderful 10th anniversary special, and a wonderful tribute to Akira Tago. If he could see this game that Level-5 has made, he would be proud.

Disappointing for old fans. I’ve always loved Layton games. I used to always play them back when they were on DS so I was extremely excited when this game came out on the App Store. However, after playing the game for some time I have to say I’m disappointed. The game tries to imitate mystery similar to the original games but in short story’s. The majority of the game is dialogue with no big mystery to solve. Because of the nature of the short stories, there’s not enough time to go in depth and really invest in the storyline. In addition, the story seems to solve itself regardless of my deductions. I miss having to deduce answers and solve puzzles that lead me to the solutions. Puzzles in this game have taken a back seat and seem more random than in the originals. Overall, I’m excited that Layton Mystery games have expanded to the apple platform but feel they could do better by going back to their roots.

OMG!!! I loved it so much!!!!. This game is awesome!!!! It was a little disappointing at first when I discovered that we weren’t playing with Hershel anymore, however, I LOVE the new characters in this game!! And on top of that, I also loved doing all the cases I just wish they would add more!!!! And I also wish there was a way to rewatch the cutscenes without having to redo the cases... but other than that I 100% love it!!!!! 5 stars!!!!! (Ps: I totally did not see that ending coming!!!!!! It was so well-thought-out!!!!!)

Not worth the money. Some people have complained about too much dialogue, but the mundane mysteries are a worse problem. The “crimes” lack excitement, intensity or villains. Each mystery is neatly solved with everyone happy including the miscreant. Motives for any wrongdoing are not particularly interesting (loneliness, for example). Puzzles are OK, ranging from simplistic to interesting to impossible to solve without hints. The characters are cute though. Probably best for preteens.

So much dialogue. I just wanna solve puzzles!. When I first started playing, I read every text bubble, but after awhile I got bored and rapid fire tapped through because there are literally no puzzles to be solved for majority of the stories! Even then, I’m left tapping the screen 10 or 20 times to skip all the filler dialogue!

NO LONGER STUCK AND LOVING IT!. I had submitted a less than satisfied review but am now modifying it. I encountered a glitch in the game but it has been fixed. I love the Layton games. The storylines and puzzles are fun and sometimes challenging. The graphics are pretty and interesting. The characters are very entertaining. Good job to the makers!

Love the franchise, love the game!. Kat Layton is definitely Daddy's little girl. She has the same affinity for puzzles as Hershel, but adds her own unique flavor with live puzzles you can solve online! Highly recommended!

Can't access DLCs. I've played the game just fine but I've been wanting to get some different outfits for Kat but every time I try to access to buy I sit there staring at the "please wait a moment" screen. Usually I wait for a couple minutes but I waited 30 minutes and I'm still at that please wait screen in downloadable content 🙄

Beautiful art but puzzles are too ambiguous. I've been a fan since the first installment of the series (curious village) and played all of the games (even the layton brother spin offs). I love the story so far and it's a beautiful game, but I find myself not being able to understand the puzzles. The questions are a little difficult to follow compared to the other Layton games. I'm not sure what they're asking after re-reading the passage several times, and resort to trial and error to solve the puzzles. I have some issues with lag on the ipad mini, but it's probably because it's a massive game. I wish I got it for the 3ds honestly. Overall it's still worth getting, and I'm still a huge fan of the game. Katrielle is a fun character to play and I like that I can change the wardrobe.

Name Puns. I have always loved Professor Layton and the idea that we would get a new story focusing on the professor’s daughter was tantalizing to say the least. However, this game has a few major snags that make playing the game unenjoyable for both nostalgia and casual players. The first is the story organization itself. I won’t go into detail about the the separate cases, how silly and trivial they seem to the overall plot (lots of people have already said so much better than I could), and how this game looks a lot like The Layton Brothers app (unaffiliated), but I have to talk about the puzzles. Naturally, they would not be up to the caliber of the previous games because we lost a dearly loved and highly-skilled puzzle writer. Having said that, some of the explanations for the puzzles (not the answers) don’t make any sense, and where the previous games had a few puzzles with trick answers, this game has far too many that you end up seconding guessing yourself. But the most heinous and unforgiving crime of all is is the plethora of name puns in this game. You don’t think it will grate on you, but it does, and every time a new character is introduced you wonder what stupid name that somehow relates to their profession or place in the story they will be assigned. It’s unforgivable. I played this game for nostalgia, so I may be a jaded fan, but this game has gone far off of the path of what was good about the original. Genuine mystery that didn’t have to do with finding lost pets or giant clock hands made out of cake. I won’t get over Spector’s Flute and how silly that ending was, but this is ridiculous.

Great puzzle game with a lovely protagonist. I enjoy this game very much, there are interesting puzzles that seem so obvious but was like a bright red needle in a white colored haystack. You can solve a puzzle but scratch your head a bit too. The story is simple but enjoyable at the same time . Hopefully the next game they will put more story time with a bigger mystery then short stories but overall worth the time to solve puzzles

Bad update - Wiped all my playtime. Good game but I loved checking the playtime to see how much I put into solving puzzles. It's all wiped now.. not happy about that.

"Any puzzle solved!". I love the Layton series! When I started to play at the beginning I was just a bit disappointed by mainly the voices actors for each character and the soundtrack in the beginning. Also there have been a few typos here and there I've noticed, but overall this game is AWESOME. I absolutely love all the puzzles. Every character has an such a great and unique design, I love the story line and just that there are A LOT of puzzles in the game, and I love Kat! Kat is so cute!!! Anyway this is a game every Layton fan should get.

Worth a play, but not as fulfilling. Enjoyed playing, but the puzzles don’t get difficult enough. And the stories are charming but there is SO MUCH DIALOGUE and the solutions of each case are pretty obvious from the beginning, so it’s a looot of clicking thru talking to find out what you already know. There is also an error on puzzle 101; the solution is the opposite of what is asked for. I thought I was just not getting it but found agreement from everyone online.

Cute and fun, but rather flat. The game is cute and fun with lots of adorable new characters and interesting puzzles, but I found it to be seriously lacking the usual emotional depth and fascinating plot twists that I've come to expect from the Layton series. The description of the game makes it sound as if it will have an overarching big mystery like the other games, even mentions that the game is about katrielle searching for her father and solving a huge conspiracy. But then the game itself is just a lot of really short cute mysteries and only the final mystery actually has anything to do with the conspiracy, but it was too short to have any interesting build up, so it fell flat. I hope the next katrielle game actually gives us the same intriguing and impossible-to-put-down sort of setup that the main series has always been so great at

A crushing bore. The dialogue is so long-winded and repetitive I gave up on the game by the middle of the second case! Less talk and more puzzles.

Loved Professor but this isn’t awful. I played all of the DS games and absolutely loved them. While this doesn’t match up to those standards I still love the music and art style as well as the storyline that persists throughout the numerous episodes. I honestly hope that some people give it a chance despite other comments and the cost. I’m a fan of the game and for me the hours and hours I put into it solving every single puzzle definitely made it worthwhile to me. I kinda actually liked the episode type style because it was easier to finish one and put down instead of playing the game for 8 hours straight lol. (I do hope they go back to professor and luke though and explain how everything ties together with professors family tree...)

Such a fun game!. I've been a big fan of the professor Layton series for a long time, and as soon as I heard about this app, I downloaded it. The puzzles are fun, but not too hard. The music is so beautiful, and the animation and cut scenes are amazing. I love the daily puzzles, and the fact that this game is customizable, with Kat's outfits and the office's decor. A little pricey, but I think it's well worth it. Such a fun experience! A worthy chapter to the Layton story.

From a Lifelong Layton Fan.... I NEVER write reviews. But I had to say this! I've been a Layton fan since the day the game came out in 2007. This game was a huge part of my childhood & teenage years, and needless to say, I've been looking forward to this game since the announcement. Although I'm still waiting to purchase this game on the 3DS as well, I wanted to see how well Layton could translate to the iPhone setting. It's astonishingly good. I'm so amazed by the game -- as if I wouldn't have been -- and its developers. Level-5, you should be VERY proud!! Playing this game is like greeting an old friend. If you love Layton games, puzzles, sweet music, and stunning graphics, then this is a place for you.

Best iOS game I have ever played.. The game is not as good as the original DS games. Too much story and not enough puzzles but this is stills the only game i have enjoyed on my phone and iPad. Great music, animation, fun puzzle and what a great soundtrack

Professor Layton's daughter lives up to her name. Ever since Curious Village came out for the Nintendo DS, I'd been absolutely infatuated with the Professor Layton series. The music, the puzzles, the story—never did I expect a game released on mobile to do justice to a masterpiece collection of games. Suffice to say, even though I've only just bought the game today and am halfway through the second case, I can tell that I'm in for a hell of a ride packed with accordions, violins, and character cameos from the original series.

No sound. Can’t seem to get the app to have any sound. Sound works in all other apps on my tablet though, just not for this game...

amazing! Just like the other Layton games!. I was planning on purchasing the 3ds version instead of the iOS one because I was afraid that there would be cut content or that features would be removed. But I decided that I couldn't wait that long for the 3ds release and took the risk to purchase it, and I must say that the transition between console to phone is fantastic! It has exactly the same layout as the other Layton games and I definitely recommend it to anyone that enjoys puzzles or has played any of the other games from the franchise.

Sub-Par Puzzles (in my opinion). I was thrilled to have had this game come out, and I don’t regret purchasing it. But I do wish the puzzles didn’t rely so heavily on word play. Seriously, so many were tricks as opposed to puzzles — felt like >20%. I want puzzles! Word play is okay for maybe <5% of puzzles in a Layton game. Still, just my opinion — and still, would buy the game again.

Good for reading. If you love lots of dialogue to read, being told where to go and what to do with a few puzzles in between then this game is for you. The puzzles are mainly word type ones where you type a number for the answer, the mysteries are solved for you and it tells you where to go and who to talk to so no mystery there. Disappointed for the price, I spend half the time just trying to skip a lot of slow moving dialogue.

My first time. I never got into the Layton series before but this was a great launching point and I am having tons of fun learning it

Fun but flawed. Puzzles are mostly fun when you get to them though a couple are kind of strange (“What colour do you see every day?” and “which of these two roads will not be busy if everyone takes this road?”). In general, the value isn’t really here for the money you pay, not least because you have to pay extra for the bonus materials. First, there is way too much time between puzzles and way too much dialogue. The description says it features a “modern” protagonist but she spends the first case ignoring it completely to get some food and go shopping. All in all, it feels like a Nickelodeon version of Layton and a pale comparison to The Curious Village

Loved Professor Layton, Love. I remember Professor Layton Curious Village being my favorite game on the Nintendo DS ever since I was 10 years old ! It has a special place in my heart so much so that I had to spend the money on this game just to see if it was as amazing as I remember my DS game being ! In this New game you play as his daughter and follow her story line of finding her father . The puzzles are challenging and require some out of the box thinking which is what I loved as a kid . I don't usually write reviews but I just had to for this one ! Worth the download ! Definitely glad I spent the money !

Please fix the wording in puzzle 7!. Just had to post this review so the devs can fix the wording in puzzle 7 which totally stumped me until I spent hint coins to get the super hint and I realized my and their mistake. The puzzle reads: “The sugar being weighed is showing up one gram heavier than it is on the left-hand scales...” Because of this wording I assumed that they were saying that the sugar on the right was showing up as one gram heavier than the sugar on the left. In fact what it should say is: “The sugar being weighed on the left-hand scale is showing up as one gram heavier than it actually is...” With that wording there wouldn’t be any confusion over what is meant. Anyways, great game otherwise!

Don't waste your money. The puzzles are simplistic and sometimes downright stupid. No creativity shown and certainly not on par with the great DS/3DS Layton games. The characters are good, story is meh, and the execution is top notch. It's a shame that the CORE of the game, the whole reason why you buy a Layton game, is nowhere to be found. Without good puzzles I can't recommend this game, especially at its atypical price for a mobile game.

No Sound!. I have game on iPad. There is no sound. Support offers no solution. Latest update did not resolve the issue. I've enjoyed previous Layton games but this one is pretty boring, too much pointless dialogue.

Great game. Great next game for the Layton franchise! Must have!

Worth it. Expensive? Sure. But it's a full 40-50 hour video game. I usually end up paying $50 for a 50 hour game on a console, so this is so much better

Battery drain. Great game but please fix the mega battery drain

Excellent. Please optimize for iPhone X!. It’s a really stellar game with tons of puzzles to solve, lots of fun. The game really needs iPhone X optimization as it feels boxed in and not modernized on this device. Please also give us the option to select the original Japanese voice cast in languages! It’d be the perfect time as Japan is airing the anime version of the game as we speak.

Better on 3DS. Despite this clearly being made for 3DS and for some reason being release early on mobile this game is still really incredible and has that great Layton charm and puzzle solving the series is known for

Recall of sweet memories. I realize I am really old not because all my friends have children now, but Prof Layton has a daughter. She is so nice.

Meant for DS.. I really wish I had bought this for the DS instead of the iPad. It's clearly designed for the DS top-and-bottom screens, and not adapted in any way to make sense for iPad. No glitches or anything, just feels slightly off. Other than that, though, it's a standard Layton game, which you will like if you like those.

Great Game I loved it. My Second favourite Layton game I prefer Diabolical box more.

It's a beautiful game but.... I'm finding a lot of riddles are either half baked or impossible to answer like "failing scales" answer absolutely makes no sense and it's kinda turning me off despite all the good qualities the game has.

Wonderful!!!. As a player since Curious Village, I think this game was amazing, and truly enjoyed the ending!! What a plot twist!!! (don't worry, I won't spoil) However, I hope there is a sequel as some main questions (as well as questions from very first and last cut scenes) only leave you to theorize, and I truly want to know what really happened Do consider buying the game and enjoying for yourselves!

Awesome!. Only my second Layton game, loved the story and tons of puzzles and character story and development and tons of extras!

Great. Great design of the storyline, puzzles and concept. A lot of times I am trying to guess what the question is asking, but that’s part of what makes puzzles puzzles. 5/5

If you're going to port your game to iOS .... ...make it an iOS game and not a split screen DS game on iOS. Interface is incredibly awkward and the ratio of slow-paced talk-bubble conversation to puzzles is horrible. You have four or five of these inane conversations for each puzzle you get to solve.

She'd make her father proud. Ugh. This game. This game? Ugh. I've been anticipating its release since it's announcement over a year ago. And it lives up to my expectations. Exceeds them, really. New features I love are the ability to return to previously solved cases, a count of found/total hint coins in given areas, superbly enhanced cutscenes and voice acting, and changing outfits, just to name a few. If you're a fan of the Professor Layton franchise, you'll adore this continuation with his legacy. And if you've never played a Layton game in your life, this is definitely a great choice to start with. Worth the money, worth the wait.

amazing. great game console experience in your phone

Good title, reasonable price, and typical LEVEL5. Good 170 puzzles. Stories are not quite legitimate but it is alright since this is typical. The 12 cases are not so well connected. Not very surprised about the person behind all these. A step-daughter theory as expected. A good title anyways.

Another fantastic addition to the Prof. Layton franchise. Includes all the wonderments we've come to expect from a Layton game, great music, mind-bending puzzles, and an enjoyable plot. Simply love it!

Fraud? Breach of contract?. In your app page, support languages are not only 3. Where are others? When I saw the language selection screen in first start, I thought there must be other s in setting menu... u r kidding with me? There are two options, 1. Change the support language list and refund who they want related with this issue Or 2. Support all language in your app page. I need Answer for this. I must get.

Game doesn't work. I can't get past the first puzzle. I reloaded and tried it again. Maybe not so compatible with iPhone SE.

Language. Wanna play this with korean language ... Any chance to update language mentioned app page!

Please support other langauge.... This game only support 3 language. I can't change store, because country lock. Please support other langauge...

A great game in the franchise!. A great game. Curious why everyone wants it in more languages though. The three languages it has are good enough. Anyway, puzzles and comedy worthy of the great professor Layton.

no korean language. how do i download it?

language.. omg. why olny three language??? I bought this app because this app supports Korean! Please update language.

미국스토어라고 한국어안내줌?. 기껏충전해서결제했더니 한국어지원안되네ㅡㅡ 출시를동시다발로하면뭐해 언어가 ㅈ같은데

Too much chatter, not enough puzzles. I love puzzle games, but this seems to be more like a movie (or bad television show) than a game... and I actually skipped a lot of the introduction; I was ready to play! But some of the conversation can't be skipped, apparently, only tapped through... and it's completely inane, with people repeating the same thing over and over again. This game is crazy expensive, and also apparently has in-game purchases, and I wouldn't mind if I could play! I managed to solve the first little puzzle in a minute or so; I'm never going to see the second one because I'm asking for a refund.

Skip button needed!!!!. Instructions to puzzles not clear. The longest longest longest stupid storyline cut scenes without the option to skip. Takes 10+ mins to finally get to a puzzle. My god someone refund me please.

korean language ?. why not ?

love love love. i'm a big fan of the layton series and there's something very special about playing a full game right on my phone! it's been lovely so far - i love the multiple case aspect and the puzzles have been challenging!

no korean version?. if it's no korean support, i'd like to get refund it. it only supports 3 language.

I wanted to play this game in Korean. But I found it is not available in Korean language. please support to download the language pack or I will request refund

I need korean. Please korean update

Good Game. Good game, but lacks Japanese support (text and audio). Lip syncing is off for English, and the main song is missing. I feel like I bought an inferior product to the Japanese version :(

Save progress??. How do you save game progress?

No korean support. AppStore says the game supports Korean but it only supports English, Spanish, and French. I'm going to ask for a refund.

BAD CAT HINTS. BAD HINTS The “supper hint” is just another hint So I can not finish case 4 Most people who have YouTube will just shred for it but I can not because my mom will not let me have YouTube.

Amazing. I am in love with this game. A great game with a charming story, a great cast of characters, and a library of puzzles that rivals it's predecessors. It is a must have for all professor layton fans.

Refreshing take. Well worth it and a welcome addition to the professor Layton timeline

It doesn't support language what they mentioned.. In their statement, it is written that Korean is supported. However, I cannot find how to do that. Only I can choose one among English, French, and Spanish.

Where are another lang. I would like to use Korean. But the game received from the us app store does not appear in the list. is this intended operation?

ok good! but language..... where is my korean?!?!

Why we can choose 3 language only?. In this information has a lot of language. But We can choose only 3 language.... Are you kidding me? I need Korean. Plz add fast

Awesome!. The game is awesome, and I really love the graphic style. Some of the cases are very tricky but interesting. The price is a bit high but it's worth it. I love mystery games! Hope there will be some updates to add more cases for free!

Only three language??. I've waiting for this game for a many years..new series of Layton... After I purchased and opened this app..and there was a only English,French,Spanish....where's other language?? I need a Korean and Japanese at the selection...this app need a fix...:)

Disappointing. Far too many arbitrary or poorly phrased puzzles. In addition, the UI for movement is awkward and frustrating. I loved the original Professor Layton game on the DS. Unfortunately this is a ham-fisted attempt at recapturing that glory.

app won't download??. man i'd love to give a good review of the game... if the app would download :(

Console game quality. Really great and glad to see a well established series move to mobile. Small problem with time played which shows 99hrs??? However overall just a great experience. :)

The Layton name is in good hands. Just as good as the main series

Perfect Layton game. That's the first time I play a Layton game in English. I thought it would much different from Chinese or Japanese version. But not, the riddles and puzzles are as interesting as before. Very good translation.

Amazing. Layton experience on mobile, still feels like a full fledged game

Great game.. What's up with all the 1 stars from Koreans?? All they need to do is to go to Korean version of iTunes. Are they that dumb?

Disappointing direction for the franchise. Puzzles are way too easy. Way too many hints given as well. 80% of the game is tapping through dialogue. "Mysteries" are obvious, and way too wholesome and mundane. Past games were all much more challenging and creative. Also feels like Katrielle plays into some pretty misogynist tropes -- forced ditziness onto someone who's supposedly a detective mastermind, which isn't something that tends to be done to male characters. I could go on. This game is step backwards for the franchise.

worth it!. i loved this game!!

supported only 3 language(english, french, spanish). :( i wanna other language... i will refund

support language is not work. Only 3 language(eng, esp...) support. Is it bug? If not, plz money back. I need jpn or kor support.

Plz fix Language select. Can't select other language ex) Japanese, Korean!

Perfect spin off to mobile. I love the Professor Layton series and this is a great spin off to the more accessible mobile platform. I always look forward to the animation sequences and the puzzles are great mental exercises. Please continue to make more!!!

Amazing job for an amazing game. Got to try this one, I love it

Language selections. I purchased this app to play in Korean or Japanese. I'd like to request language packs to support other languages like the description in app's language info.

:). How do you change the language of this app into Korean?

Perfecta. Es súper fiel a la saga de la cual pertenece. La mejor app de pago de mi vida (soy fan de la saga Layton)

A rare gem on mobile.. First off let me just say this is a full game on mobile, the in app purchases are completely optional. However I do implore those who love these type of efforts from developers, to support them by purchasing those in app purchases. That being said, I've played Proffesor Layton and The Curious Village, and that's the only Layton game I've played. So not having kept up with the series, and jumping into this game is a very fresh experience! Those that have played the other games may be a little disappointed, for the puzzles I hear are not up to par with previous titles. But I am enjoying myself quite a bit, from the soundtrack to the cutscenes everything seems very polished, on top of downloadable daily puzzles this game has a lot to offer (especially for a mobile title). The price is well worth it so if you love puzzles, and are on the fence, don't be. It's well worth the asking price and then some. The mobile market has a tendency to only want free games or anything less than $7. That's why we don't see many fully developed titles like these cause it's a bit risky for developers, but having titles like this one here, is a testament to the times that mobile gaming will most likely replace handheld consoles, since everyone has a phone these days, one day one might be able to casually just play Mariokart with a nearby stranger, who knows! But we need developers like these so please support them, they've done a good job and am hoping they keep this game up to date with the ever changing iOS. TL;DR Need more games like this. Good music, good VA/cutscenes. If you like puzzle games and on the fence about price, it's worth it. If you've played previous titles, you may be disappointed a tad, but still worth it.
