Works Across Platforms. When the recipe app I was using, Pepper Plate, switched to a monthly subscription service (after no updates for many years), I looked at all the top reviewed options available. One of the top competitors required purchasing on every platform I used, and it was not cheap. Compared with Cookbook, it seemed bloated with extras. Cookbook has worked flawlessly since I started using it. Is it without quirks? No. But name one app that isn’t. I can access it from any device, it’s well organized, and it does a great job importing from other sites. I think this is currently the best app for storing recipes.

Love this app!. I used a different app for years and was ok with it until they went to a yearly subscription. That’s a HUGE turn off for me. I found this one and have really enjoyed it since. The import process was so simple and fast. I love that I can just take a picture of a recipe, edit very little and it’s ready to go instead of typing out the entire recipe. Customizing the tags is also nice to have and easy to do. I have recently started using the meal planner function, which I have to say is WAY better than the last app I used so I never used it before now. It pops up a button on the bottom of the home page that says “dinner” and it takes you straight to the recipe for the day. Genius! The developers are responsive and open to feedback and suggestions for future updates, which is appreciated. I highly recommend this app!

Awesome app. Overall the app is a joy too work with. I wanted an app that didn’t have a subscription model. I don’t understand why I have to pay a subscription when i’m doing all the work saving recipes. Very easy to import and add recipes. Look and feel are great. Great search function and organization using tags function. There are few glitches I hope will get corrected in upcoming updates. When using ocr function it is limited to ten pics for entire recipe. And if you upload a wrong pic it can not be deleted from the list of 10 pics. Having said this the ocr function is spot on 98% of the time. And it would be perfect if somehow they can automate nutrition info. But hey there is never an end to what we want. An awesome app.

Love this App!!♥️. I was using another recipe organizer app that I loved and it was removed from the iPhone line up. I did some research and found the Cookbook App. I didn’t think I would be happy and figured it would take a long time to get used to the new app. I was wrong!! I love this app. It’s easy to load recipes from websites, tags make them easy to find and I enjoy planning my menu for the week. And the grocery shopping list is great and easy to use. Whatever the subscription price it is worth it and I’ll be signing up for the Lifetime offer. One more thing, they respond quickly if you have any questions and seem to be open to all good suggestions. A+ app and team.

The best thing since sliced bread. 😀. I’ve been collecting recipes for ever. Before I found this app, they were stored all over the place in many formats. I started using the app about a year or so ago when it was free. They later upgraded and started charging a subscription. I was upset at first!but now I am happy to pay for it. It’s been a lifesaver. Before I got my iPad, I mostly used the web version. The editor was a bit cumbersome as you needed to enter separate entries for each line. I would Ofen just paste everything in step1 and then switch over to my iPhone to use the iOS editor. With their latest release they have brought the iOS editor to the web version. I absolutely love it. The developer is very responsive to inquiries and open to suggestions. They recently changed the tag feature in the web version upon request. Thank you for a great app. I look forward to see what other cool features you come up with.

Very Disappointed. This was a good app. Sadly, the developers feel the need to keep adding useless features to try justifying taking the app to a subscription model. I paid for the app, was happy with the app the way it was but am now being forced to pay over and over for “features” that are not value added. I think since they took my money to begin with, I should be able to continue access to a version that does not require me to reach into my wallet repeatedly!

Which to sub model after paid for app. I’ve been using this for a while and it was great. It now a 1 star app that I’ll be removing as it was a paid app that is now forcing people to move to a subscription service to continue using. They should not be forcing people that already paid for the app into this new system or force them to may again to get a lifetime subscription. They should just get the lifetime sub since they already bought the app or they should have released the new version as a new app or feature pack to not effect the people that just want the a fully working version they ALL READY paid for. I get needing money to add new features but you’re punishing the early adapters that bought the app and help them grow. Why not just make it an optional paid feature pack.

Best recipe app. I searched all the recipe apps and this is the best one. It works on multiple platforms, not just your phone. It has OCR so you can take pictures of recipes and input them into your collection. For the laptop, there’s an extension to automatically “clip” a recipe from a website into your collection. It’s great! You can set timers within recipes as you make them. You can halve or double recipes. You can do meal planning and construct grocery lists. It’s a reasonable price for all you get and it’s great that you don’t have to pay a monthly fee. I refuse to have to pay each month to organize and access my own recipes! These developers get it and have made a very user-friendly app.

The BEST recipe manager app for iOS. HANDS DOWN.. I’ve tried several free apps, several paid apps, and this has been the best so far. It has everything. Being able to also log on a computer was very important to me. Sometimes, it’s faster to type on a laptop, or take photos of a recipe, or pulling recipes off of webpages, instead of inputting manually using your iPhone. This has all of these features, plus more! To top it off, their customer service IS SO fast with replying to their support emails, and resolution was extremely quick. Will never use another recipe app again. This is the best, and only one I’ll use.

Really Excited!. I get almost all of my recipes from online, and having a tab open for each recipe and accidentally closing or replacing tabs makes keeping track of them way harder than it should be. I was hoping this app would at the very least let me type in said online recipes, but its so much more convenient and in-depth than I expected. All I had to do was paste the website url (made really easy by the app and there is even a function to recognize you have a url copied and ready to paste) and it automatically loaded a photo from the website, the name of the dessert, a description, and even a note that the website includes a video! Scrolling down and it includes the standard recipe, as well as nutrition facts and serving sizes pulled from the website. Really remarkable, I’d recommend for sure.

Game Changing App. I don’t often leave reviews, but this app has been a complete game changer for my meal prep. Before installing this app, I would bookmark all the recipes I found online and tried my best to organize them in folders. But digging through a list of titles meant I often skimmed past recipes I loved or struggled to find the recipe I was looking for. This app has completely changed how I approach cooking/meal prep and even lets me share my favorite recipes with friends! I can now quickly import recipes from the internet or recipes scribbled down by my in-laws directly to my cookbook. It’s easy to find what I’m looking for thanks to all the pictures and custom tags (they start you off with some basic ones which was super helpful). And thanks to the shopping list feature I can now quickly plan out my meals for the week and get an organized shopping list that combines the same ingredients across recipes - no more writing everything down on a sticky note and crossing out numbers as multiple recipes start calling for limes. To top it all off, I can even share my recipes/notes with friends whether they have the app or not. But to be honest, now recommending this app to everyone, I absolutely love it. If you like to cook, and have a ton of recipes to store/organize, this is the app for you!

From Evernote to Cookbook App- Thank you!. My recipe collection in Evernote was over 3500 recipes, and I needed a safe place to move them, as I was/am uncertain about the future of Evernote. Although the conversion is still a slow work in progress (as recipes are in all different formats), I have been cooking with Cookbook app, and I’m THRILLED with the uniformity of my recipes now. Meal planning is a snap with favorites. Grocery List is a snap for the entire week. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is that the OCR and Import features are a bit glitchy, necessitating a careful review of ingredients after each import. This seems like something the developers are actively working on, and I will happily stick with this app as they continue to make improvements. I would also like the ability to drag/drop images into the OCR scanner, rather than selecting them, along with being able to add more than 3 pages. I bought the year subscription to be sure I would use this app, and will be purchasing the lifetime subscription at the end of my year!

Does what I want (and more) exceptionally well. I have super appreciated this app for years, but was initially put off by the requirement to pay for it again. Then somebody reminded me that seven years is a long time for an app to keep working. For example, I am no longer able to use the Microsoft office suite I purchased for my windows XP machine. Fair reasoning. That said, here are some of the reasons I value this app so highly: The “import recipe from a URL” is simply astonishing. It extracts the important elements for recipes from websites like AllRecipes and the Food Network, while leaving all the ads and commentary out. Everything is completely editable after importing, so if you want to alter the recipe to reflect something you saw in the comments, it’s very easy. The import via OCR (optical character recognition – converting a photo with printed text to digital text) is not quite as simple, but once you get it, it’s fantastic. It allowed me to retain my favorite recipes from my mother’s cookbooks, which were falling apart. I told it which parts of the image were the title, ingredients and steps, and it did the rest. The tags, timer, and “cross-out finished steps” features are the ones I use the most, but this app has loads of other features, also. The interface is very user-friendly and the pro version is an exceptional value.

Lovely app but it’s disappointing customer service is nonexistent.. I really like the look of this app and it wonderfully imported a recipe from a website. I had been using a different app for awhile but I wanted features that it didn’t offer. Therefore, I searched for awhile and read the great reviews about CookBook. I was so excited that I could transfer my recipes from the other app. So I try to import them and CookBook recognizes the files but doesn’t pull the data from the files. I contacted support last week and I’ve never gotten a response. Kind of disappointing. Maybe I’ll feel differently after I use it for awhile but it’s not useful at all right now because I’m going to have to manually add my recipes that should have been able to be imported.

FINALLY. Like most people, I have so many recipes and could not find a good way to organize them. This app is SO convenient. The fact that I can edit recipes on my desktop makes it so easy to manage. Being able to scan recipes in with the camera is also fantastic for those, “that was delicious can I have the recipe?” I’ve used most of the functions in this app at this point and continue to use it all the time. Being able to make grocery lists, have it give me ideas based on what I have, scale recipe to fewer or more servings... so convenient. I’m really a huge fan. Totally worth paying for.

If I could design a cookbook app…. I pretty much gave up on designing my own cookbook app when I found this. It’s current build is the best I’ve found that had most of the features I was going to put into my own app. The best part about this app is that they have a roadmap that you can actively help with to make the idea around this better. Honestly you don’t need any other app for recipes. Just add your recipes here, use them and share them. Hopefully the community gets more great features to make more people want it.

Best Organizing Platform. I tried a few apps sort and catalogue recipes. Cookbook is the only that provides you with the means to capture recipes from cookbooks, websites, magazines or manually. From an image, Cookbook transcribes the recipe into text. Keyword cataloging is an option as well as adding images to the recipe card. Also unlike other apps you are able to upload as many recipes as you like. I love this app. If you are looking for a way to capture and store recipes this app is the best.

Helped me be more organized (and creative) in the kitchen. Needs minor bug fix. Has helped me organize meal plans extremely well and allows me to make sure I’m able to cook based on the ingredients I have by using the search tab. A minor fix that I would like to see implemented is related to the photo scan to recipe function. Works great for the most part, but it doesn’t support converting fractions to text, making it a lot more time consuming to go through and edit ingredients after scanning the photo than the ideal scenario. Otherwise, a great app I’d highly recommend!

I love this app more than food itself!. This app has everything I was looking for to help with meal planning! I love that I can save recipes from multiple websites , and even add my own recipes - and everything looks so pretty with nice big photos! I really love that the information actually gets copied into the corresponding fields in the app, instead of just linking to the external websites. Now I don’t have to scroll through long rambling blogs with annoying banner ads! The meal planner is very easy to use and I can easily compile a shopping list for the week and text it to my husband to pick up at the store. There are a lot more thoughtful features too. This is my first ever review on the App Store and it is completely unsolicited! I’m just super happy I decided to buy this app and wanted to share it!

Love planning and adjusting my family meal plan. I love this Cookbook App! I started a Healthy Lifestyle change this year. As I have taken on learning to cook in a new way for optimal health adding recipes, adjusting the number I am cooking for daily, and planning ahead have become primary needs for my meal planning. This app is extremely easy to use, make edits and navigate changes. I love the meal planning calendar for planning my week while remaining easily flexible! Cookbook is beautiful and extremely functional for my family and personal meal success. I love using it daily! It’s rekindled a love for cooking for my family! It has become one of my highest used apps! Thank you!

Theft!. I paid to own this app outright precisely to avoid getting sucked into a money pit: years of investments in a niche personal tool that does one little thing. Now I’m being told that I will be unable to continue using the app going forward, except in read-only mode after one year of “free” subscription. The problem is twofold: (1) I relied on the nature of an outright purchase and have not been in a hurry to digitize recipes, so I have very little content to date. So I will basically have gifted the developers my money for a loan rather than a purchase. SaaS is a loan. No thank you. (2) The app, if I do rush to fill it with content now, will be useless for the very reason I bought it in the first place: data consolidation. The last thing I want is recipes spread across different apps. Should I never add another app to my personal catalog again? Or should I waste my time and homescreen space switching between catalogs? Both are terrible options. This is, frankly, fraud and theft. I paid for X and you are taking it away and replacing it with Y. I do not consent. Why not just grandfather legacy users into lifetime plans?

Best cookbook app out there!. This app is absolutely AMAZING! If you like to cook, and you like to collect recipes from a variety of sources, this is the app for you. You can (easily!) import recipes from websites, from photos, from old family recipe cards! You can categorize and cross-reference your recipes however you like! You can edit the recipes in real time! You can share recipes (easily!) with friends across the country or around the globe! A lifetime membership was *well* worth the nominal fee. The only downside I can think of is that I wish I could keep 2 recipes open simultaneously, since I’m usually multitasking in the kitchen. Maybe the “pin” feature addresses this; I haven’t experimented with it much yet.

Wow. You people nailed it.. This app is phenomenal. I was brainstorming features I would want in a recipe, meal, and shopping list planner app of my own creation when I came across this app. To see each idea and more come to life in a sleek, well-designed, intuitive, and powerful manner in this app was euphoric. It is better than I could have ever dreamed of! Everything I wanted and more. Good price made it more attractive than other apps. I love the abilities to import recipes from pictures, other recipe formats, and file types. The user interface was easy to grasp and follow even on my first recipe import. I would love to see some sort of bulk import (API?) in the future, but most of my saved recipes are pictures anyway. I’m not sure if there is some sort of syncing family plan where recipes, plans, and lists can be synced between linked user accounts or devices, but that would be awesome too. Lots of praise and kudos for this app!!!!

Disappointed but getting better. I deleted my negative review because the nice folks who wrote and maintain this app reached out to me and have done all that was possible to make CookBook my happy place again. One plus, no longer have to pay for multiple platforms, just one. While the new features don’t appeal to me, they certainly will to the majority. I still think this is the best cookbook app out there and if you really look, many of them charge as much or more. My favorite features are being able to adjust quantities at the touch of the screen and to be able to view the ingredients at the same time as the instructions. Please keep this app going. It is very disheartening to use a recipe app for years and suddenly find it is not supported any more. That happened to me a couple of years ago because they just can’t afford it or they get tired of doing it.

I used to love but now Its going nowhere…. I purchased this app over 2 years ago since then minimal changes to the app have released. Although their UI and gorgeous design over-shine, their planner is one of the worst I’ve seen. I can’t believe they don’t have drag and drop for at least desktop! It’s extremely tedious to plan meals on here and it makes me more anxious! Secondly, they released a subscription model that although they are giving those who purchased the app previously, like me, a year free they will be losing a LOT of people based solely on the fact that nothing has changed and it is not worth yet ANOTHER subscription. The feature that would make me stay would be an updated planner or pantry inventory introduction

Awsome FREE OCR and import features. This app allows for you to take a picture of a recipe using your smartphone and import it with a wizard to take you through different sections ( ex. Ingredients, Instructions, etc...) and uses OCR to convert it to text without any extra charge(some apps charge per recipe for OCR). So you can quickly get your recipes in, do meal planning, and create a shopping list of all the ingredients needed for the recipes you are planning on making. This is a great app and if they can quickly add automatically calculating nutritional information, this would knock it out of the park and really help people manage their health!

New look, new promise. This is a great app and one that I use all the time and the new update and move to a subscription model is an exciting development. I cook a lot and had been looking for one place to act as a central hub for my recipes. After looking around I chose cookbook because of its excellent features and great reviews. The biggest drawback though was that the app appeared to be infrequently updated and there were some minor issues that cried out to be fixed. I am really pleased that the team has switched to a subscription plan because this should allow them to continue to invest in making this app even better. The latest release looks better and feels faster. I can’t wait to see what comes next!

Former original cookbook user. This used to be my mainstay, I have well over 300 recipes in this app including originals and was once a lifetime purchaser. Then cookbook updated and made it subscription based. Prior Lifetime buyers were given a grace period I guess one would call it, before having to hop on subscription base for the updated app or default into basic (free). Those who defaulted to basic now had 40 recipes to work with which I guess is more than what the non lifetime purchasers got, yay. Since I’m over the 40 I’m constantly told that I need to delete recipes or subscribe in order to look at the recipes I already have stored. I’m not even actively using the app to try to save recipes. Just view my stored ones. Even sorting it to most recent ads directed doesn’t allow me to view my “40” instead it is just a “subscribe or delete recipes pop up” I can’t help but feel cheated. Now there’s an option for “lifetime” purchase. The lifetime of the latest upgrade until they come out with a cookbook 3.0 or whichever one they are on and the cycle continues? I understand they have a business to run but I am weary of their practices now and have went with another app instead. Good news if people are interested in subscribing it’s cheap at least and I did like the UI. So if you’re on the fence maybe they can have your money. I have no intention on being a patron.

My Go To Recipe Book. I am converting all of my favorite recipes to this app. The various capture and input methods make this easy to build an integrated recipe book. It takes a bit of experimenting to learn the various capture methods but once you’ve got it you won’t forget as the app is self directing on how to capture and tune your recipes. Capture from your browser is very easy and my go to method if possible. The OCR method works well and is the way I captured many of my oldest printed recipes or from the recipe books that line my kitchen shelf. This app works and it gives me my recipes at my fingertips wherever I go and when I use it in the kitchen it does not switch off when I turn my back like other apps that I have used like to do. It sounds simple but this can be very irritating if your hands are knee deep in ingredients. Try it - you will like it.

Serious Cooks choice. After several months and many dollars of purchasing the more well known cooking apps, ( I tried 7) I finally found Cookbook (no The or My in front, just Cookbook). This is a wonderful App and has saved me many hours and made my cooking endeavors so much easier! It saves from a recipe from almost any site by simply copying and pasting the URL and you can also easily copy and paste ingredients and instructions, if you find a maverick site not able to auto install. I refer back to several dishes at a time thru opening “Recent Recipes” when I’m cooking many dishes at once. Also It sends to other CB users fairly easily and making my own Tags allows me to find things saved in several places. This is a small company and they responded to my question within just a few hours. I look forward to seeing this app grow (i.e. share entire recipe collections with friends)as anybody who searches the internet for recipes will find it a huge blessing! And all for a one time $5 fee. You definitely NEED this “Cookbook” app!!

Does exactly what I wanted!. This app is amazing. It’s a website and phone app that allows you to curate your own recipe book with online recipes. You can take any online recipe link (even the ones that are pay-walled like non appetit) and it scrapes the recipe ingredients and instructions. It puts them in an easy to read format, allows you to scale the recipe for smaller or larger quantities, and allows you to tag the recipe with your own custom tags. You can then search and sort by the tags to make finding the recipes easy. Even more, it lets you add recipes to a meal plan and then use those recipes to generate a shopping list. That feature feels like it’s still a bit in development but it does work. I am at 39 of the 40 free recipes you get and once I fill it, I’ll definitely be buying a lifetime subscription. To the developers: please add a place to add additional links to the recipes. Not just source and video links. Also, make the ingredients list more usable by making it editable over time and not fully refreshed when you add a recipe. It’s common that we add recipes throughout the week and don’t want to lose the edits like what I’ve crossed out cause I already have those things in my kitchen.

Feature-packed, Elegantly crafted App!. For a little over a year, I’ve been only cooking and eating meals that I’ve prepared and so I have a bunch of recipes bookmarked and organized as best as I could manage on Safari but I hate how most recipe sites follow a top-down approach to show the information that I’m looking for in a recipe; summary, ingredients AND THEN steps. I’ve craved for being able to view steps and ingredients side-by-side. This app has that horizontal view and other features that I didn’t even know I needed! The fact that I can import recipes is great, since I have a bunch bookmarked. I love that I can have a shopping list generated for me, while before, I would need to use some of my precious time to do so. I love that you can set timers that defaults to time required for a particular step. I use siri homepod for my timers usually but it’s awesome to have this feature in-app. I’m not sure how much time this app will give me back, but the flow that I had set up for food prep was definitely a process, now… The only time I take is trying to figure out what I want to eat for the week! Love it :)

Good job developers! This is great.. I recently started the Keto diet and was gifted a Keto book. I immediately started looking for apps that could translate a picture into the correct input for recipe creation. This app fits the bill and is the only one on the store that does this. Also the other features like meal planning and generation of grocery lists is great. I just generated my first list for the first week of meal prep. You can select dates to generate lists which is good. Lots of functionality wrapped up in this app! Couple of wants... -Ability to export import recipes into MyFitnessPal. So far I could get this to work. -Ability to quick edit the grocery list items. I discovered an error in one of the items and needed to correct it. However, if you correct the source recipe you have to regenerate the grocery list. -Ability to share the grocery list with my wife. We are logged in to the same account but the grocery list does not show up in her app even after syncing.

One of my fave apps of all time. I cook. A LOT. I have recipes saved as screen shots. In my gmail folders, on my iPad. In my phone, not to mention zillions of hard copies of recipes saved in this binder and that. At first I went for the freebie app, but I didn’t have to reach the 40 free recipe limit before I knew I had to have complete access to this app. I have to say I use it most days. Some days more than once. It’s so easy to type in “butter” and all the recipes I’ve listed with butter pop up. Importing the recipes including the photo is so easy and I’m tech challenged sometimes. This app is easy and intuitive. Pretty sure I should have gone for the lifetime subscription. UPDATE: my renewal was due. I DID go for the lifetime. Still one of the very few apps I use an a daily basis.

Love this app!. I’ve never written an app review in my life, so this tells you how much I love this. I’ve been searching for a long time for a place where I could combine all my cookbook, Pinterest, blogger and family recipes in one place with organization and searchable functions. The ability to take photos of recipes in my cookbooks and magazines has been a lifesaver! And I love that it’ll automatically download almost any online recipe with ease. There’s only two things that would change this to 5 stars: 1. There’s some weird conversions that happen sometimes. I’ve turned off the function that converts the measurements within the recipes, but sometimes weird converting seems to still happen. So I wish that was better or (if I’m missing something) that the controls were more intuitive. 2. I wish the meal planner had an option to swap days instead of just swap recipes. I rarely change my recipes after planning my week, but I often just need to change a dinner from Tuesday night to Wednesday because schedules changed, meat wasn’t defrosted, we already have more leftovers than anticipated, etc. I’d LOVE it if I could click on tonight’s dinner and hit a button to “move” the meal and choose another date. Even with these little annoyances, I still love this app and find it to be without a doubt the best functioning cooking app for my needs!

Thank you sooooo much!. For the first time I finally have found an app that works like it should. I have tried at least a dozen of the last few years to try and digitize my paper random recipes. The features are so help from tags to multi pictures (this is helpful for showing various steps 👍👍). It has been very simple to use. And thanks for having it be a 1 time fee. I would be willing to pay for bigger updates from time to time to keep development going, but I’m just thankful it isn’t some crazy $19 buck a month subscription. Thanks for hopefully being my final app to get this project done. 👍

BEST recipe collection app ever. Pros: - well-organized for recipe steps/instructions - ingredients and steps on same screen - takes you step by step with you hit the “start” button; will even read it to you - cross off ingredients as you go so that you know you’ve got it covered - allows you to input different pictures for every step of the instructions - creates grocery lists based on your menu plan - grocery lists organized by aisle - OCR scan for recipes from a book - imports from other cooking websites - beautiful graphics and organization Cons: - doesn’t seem as popular as Paprika, so I hope they keep on providing updates and fixes and won’t fall off the radar - doesn’t suggest new recipes (though, that’s what the internet and cookbooks are for); this is purely a recipe collection app, not a recipe suggestion - needs feature where you can input the ingredients you have and it will find a recipe for you that can use your ingredients

Converts recipes in different languages too!!!. I'm not usually the reviewing type person, but I just can't keep quiet about this app! I've already told 5+ family members about it! I too have tried different free apps but they all lack one thing or the other. But this app has it all. My favorite thing about the app is the minimalist clutter-free design and overall aesthetics of the interface across the whole program! It's always such a pleasure opening it up every time. My next favorite thing is that you can import recipes from almost any website and it recognizes ingredients, steps, title, pictures, and etc. with immaculate precision and organizes them accordingly. To my delight, the app also converts recipes in different languages with little editing!!! I was excited about that! The only thing I would change is that you can't access the main menu button from the "my recipes" page as well as some other pages. Would be great to access the main menu from anywhere in the app. But that's being nit-picky. This app is still a five star for me! Good job guys! Thank you.

Best cookbook app. I transitioned my recipes from one recipe app to this CookBook app. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to use it. Also, the different options in adding a recipe is so easy. A lot of us copy recipes from websites or someone emails you a recipe. This app allows you to copy a recipe from a website simply by copying the that sites URL. It brings in the title of the recipe, the picture of the food, the ingredients and method. You can also change the measuring units. I like to always covert to the measurement to US Standard. It easily converts it. Another feature is the actual link to the site which is displayed within the recipe in the app. If there is a video attached to the recipe it also automatically pulls it in. There are so many features that comes with this app that was not included in my previous app. You have a choice of using different methods to copy a recipe. If the recipe is in pdf or some type of a written form, you can easily copy the recipe using this app. Of course, you can also manually add a recipe with ease. I’m sold! To the developers, we’ll done!

What I’ve been searching for. I have never written a review for any of the million app I’ve used, but this one is so perfect and helpful I couldn’t not write this. All of my recipes are saved on Pinterest, but having to open the app, find the recipe, open the link, search through the blog post to get to the recipe, ect was so inefficient. I wanted something that would keep my recipes easily available with no unnecessary extra crap. This is it. It even pulls your grocery list and you can exclude item you have on hand. Like I couldn’t have made a better app if I had tried and was a tech wiz. THANK YOU

Great app to manage your recipes. When a cooking recipe app I was using for many years changed in a way I didn’t like, I started researching for find a new app to manage my recipes. After trying out different apps I found Cookbook is easy to use and did everything I need it to do. They make it easy to enter my recipes from my Word docs and have them in a more convenient format for cooking and baking. When I find other recipes I want try online, the app makes it really easy to import and allows me to customize as I adapt the recipe to make it my own. I really love the way CookBook - Recipe Manager App works.

😍😍😍. I ❤ this app! It literally does everything but cook the food for you . The new update is awesome!!!! The only downside is that I now need to move over my entire recipe collection of 5,000 + from my previous recipe organizer because this one is just that good 🤗. There’s only 1 thing I wish I could do in this app & it’s to add links in the ingredients list . If I am making a recipe that requires a 2nd recipe for example “ my favorite BBQ sauce” I’d like to be able to link it in the ingredients so I can just click it & it takes me straight to that recipe. I use another popular organizer that has this feature & that’s all this app is missing . Thanks for the great work I do plan to purchase the lifetime subscription once my membership is due . I know it takes time & money to run a decent app & I support you guys all the way .

unethical business practices. I paid for this app two years ago when it was not a subscription service. If I had known it would be turned into a subscription I would have just used a free app, or even saved pdfs to a drive on my computer. Now I am being forced, after purchasing an item, to pay for that same item AGAIN? When Microsoft updates it’s operating system, does your old windows 7 stop working? In what universe is it reasonable to ask someone to pay forty dollars for a “lifetime subscription” to something they’ve already purchased? How do I know that in two more years, the app won’t decide that they need to add new features and charge me another forty dollars, why not a hundred this time? Giving old users a free lifetime subscription is the only thing that makes sense in this context. I used to recommend this app to people, now I’m just going to uninstall it. I can’t spend more of my money on a company with such unethical business practices. I would recommend everyone considering this purchase to reconsider based on this review as well.

Love this app and great support. I use this app almost daily. The clipper/browser extension makes saving favorite recipes quick and easy. I love how it saves the exact URL, making it simple to go back to the original post to reread details. I have run into a couple of glitches along the way and app support has been terrific. They stayed with me to fix my issue, tracking down browser settings and all kinds of details to help me. Truly customer SERVICE. Thank you, cookbook app support!

By far my Favorite Cooking App. I love this app. I have been using it since very early on and I can’t say enough good things about it. With each update things just improve upon themselves. I hate having to drag out hard copy recipes and then search the index to find what I’m looking for and then worry about ruining the paper items. Pulling out my iPad and propping it on a stand is so much easier and way more convenient! If you’re thinking about digitizing your recipe books, GET THIS APP.

Best recipe manager I have seen. I had a different recipe manager for probably 10 years. I was happy with it as it met the need. Over the years I had accumulated over 500 recipes. A few months ago I decided to pay for the cloud service that allowed me to access recipes on other devices. Imagine my chagrin when the syncing stopped after the last IOS update. When I looked back at the app version info I was stunned to see that the last update was 2 years ago. Now there is no way to contact the developer or customer support as the website won’t come up.” And it’s still available for downloading in the App Store. Stupid me for paying for the cloud service subscription through 2020 (seems like fraud to me) Anyway, found the Cook Book app and I love it. I have transferred all my recipes and love the automatic syncing from my IPad to IPhone. And I love the features. If you’re looking for a great recipe manager, this is the one to get!!

Don’t waste your time or money!. A recipe/meal planner app without nutrition analyzer? What?! How can you even call this a meal planner app when it doesn’t analyze recipes/ingredients for nutrition info? That’s what meal planning is all about. I guess you can paste in the nutritional content, but that means I either A) Have to upload recipes from the internet that already have that detail AND I can’t deviate from the recipe (like change ingredients to make it healthier) or B) I have to upload it to another app (like MyFitnessPal) to first work out the recipe the way I want it and then upload it to this app and then manually enter the nutritional info. Goodness forbid I should want to add a physical paper/book recipe. I’d have to take the extra step of manually adding that to another app (painstaking) to get the nutritional first. I’m disappointed that I paid money for this. I wish I could get the money back and never see this app again. In this day and age, I cannot believe they haven’t linked up to a food database for REAL cookbook and meal planning abilities.

Overall really like it!. Overall I really like the app and I have recommended it to others. Its easy, love the import and tag options and I am just getting into the meal planning. My only issues are for some recipes I cannot get the ingredients to stay in cups and it switches it to oz or another measurement. I have tried different things but doesnt help. This is only a few recipes this has been an issue with. The other issue is I wished I could backup on my computer instead of on phone. However, I did email it to myself so it does accomplish it. My complaints are more annoying then anything and overall I am very happy with the app!! I recommend giving it a try!

Great app, wish I had better shopping list functionality. Wonderful app for organizing recipes, love how I can scan ones I have written and they are put into the app. Excellent search functionality to find recipes. Like the ability to easily export to pdf. Wish the shopping list function was a bit better so I could click on a recipe and add items needed to my shopping cart vs having to do this by clicking through to a meal plan then electing day/meal before I can add to the list. Wish I could remove what items in a recipe I don’t need on the list before it gets added. Some sort of swipe to delete button would be great Also, wish there was a way to categorize recipes into folders, at least in a iPad/tablet view vs seeing them all. Would be nice to search through folders I’ve created for ideas

Love most of it so far. I just got this and am still working on how I want to use it. So far I love that I can snap pictures to import recipes and not have to type it all. It’s easy to add pictures of the dishes and steps. I can make up my own tags so I can organize things in my own way. I can add notes. There’s a way to back up what I’ve entered. I can share it on my devices. And I love that there’s no subscription fee which really turned me off of other app choices. Things I’m still trying to work out is editing the data after an import can be cumbersome. Sometimes it adds funky characters that I cannot get rid of no matter what I try, including deleting and adding manually. And I wish I could print an index card format vs a full page pdf. I’m also leery about having a full database of recipes on my phone. I don’t want to buy more phone memory just for recipes! But I have yet to see if that’s really going to be a problem or not. Overall I’m really pleased.

Well supported, powerful and easy to use. I love supporting Indi app developers and originally tried it for that. I’ve had the app for years and love it. Its importing is excellent. I love the flexibility of the options (Eg sub headings for ingredients) and I use the conversions all the time. We have recently started using it for shopping lists as well. Very friendly support and great value subscription. I’ve tried a number of cooking apps (including the big ones) but I keep coming back to this one. For someone who loves cooking It’s excellent.

Perfect recipe storing app. I’ve never felt the need to review an app until this one. It is so cleverly thought out! It has pretty much every function you need for storing and using recipes. The OCR tool is so awesome! I mean it doesn’t work 100% all of the time as it depends on the quality of your picture but if you take a good pic, and the fonts/backgrounds etc are readable then it’s an amazing feature! Thanks for creating such a useful app - totally worth the money 😊👌🏼

The most versatile meal planner. We started using this app sparingly to record important recipes. By using the app it has helped us to plan our meals and improve our grocery shopping and food waste. Contrary to other apps, the team at Cookbook have a development road plan where users can contribute and vote for new features. This can contribute to the sustainability of the app. I recommend this app for families, couples or individuals that like to portion or plan their weekly meals.

Just Soooooo GOOD!. At last this app has fixed some bugs to earn 5 stars from me. I’ve tried so many other apps for collecting my favourite recipes but this is by far the best. My favourite features: 1. Take a few pics of a recipe (ingredients & method), import them into the app & the pics are converted to text. This saved so much typing. 2. If a friend asks for the recipe, simply press share & message or email the generated PDF within seconds. Even better if a friend has the same app you can share the recipe & it will import straight into their app. 3. Custom tags make it easy to find the recipe the way you want. 4. So many more features like *Automatically generated timers within the recipe. It auto detects text such as “cook for 3 minutes” & will generate a hyperlink to a timer set to 3 minutes. Press the link when your at that step while cooking your recipe & hey presto... auto alarm. *Cooking for 5 instead of the usual 3. No problems. Adjust the serving number in the ingredients section & the quantity of ingredients changes automatically. The list just goes on & on! I LOVE THIS APP!!!!

Best recipe app!. We love this app for easily sorting through our recipe collection. The interface is simple, beautiful, and intuitive to use. I love how it scales ingredients for servings too. We have food allergies and one thing I like best about it is that there’s no recipe suggestions or cluttered content we can’t use, just a collection of recipes we’ve scanned from books, clipped from the web or made ourselves. We’ve been using this app for years and it keeps improving.

Time saver. Great app whether you create your own recipes or want to conveniently download from websites. Imports easily with minimal editing required. Also love that I can import in the same format from magazines and books. Tag for easy searching.

Extremely Helpful. I love that I can collect recipes from various sources and when net browsing I can easily save interesting recipes for later. I love that it updates across devices so I can add on my phone and it saves on my ipad (which I use in the kitchen) or make a shopping list on the ipad and its there on the phone. Very intuitive to use as well. Well worth buying the paid version.

Hands down the best recipe manager. This is the best cookbook app on iOS. I have tried four of the most popular paid competitor apps and none of them compare. The auto recipe import function works amazingly well and the interface is slick and simple (the others I have used are garish) I am a coeliac and I love having the ability to store my favourite gluten free recipes on my phone. I highly recommend this app.

The best recipe app!. I’ve had this app for many years now and I absolutely love it. It’s so easy to use, quickly copy and paste recipes from the web and it puts all the right information in place. Easy to flick through to plan out weekly meals. I would be lost without this app. Also I got a new phone and had an issue with my account syncing. I emailed them and they replied really quickly and it was all fixed, very good customer service.

Great app. I was using a different app and stumbled across this one, it is so easy to use and amazing how it can upload recipes for you. Set out great and good options also. I love how I can have it in my phone and iPad also.

Good features but not the best interface. My main reason for downloading the app was to use the OCR scanner to scan in recipes which the app does well. However the interface is a bit clunky and could be improved particularly with saving recipes and how the grocery list is generated with extra items.

Great for recipe storage terrible for meal planning and shopping lists management. Extremely disappointed with my purchase. Some great features around storing and importing recipes but terrible meal planning and shopping list function with no ability to amend description of added items to become combined quantities on the same item across different recipes. Unable to pick and select specific items in the ingredient list because you already have them in your pantry or the ability to delete items in added list. Also the prompt to save the grocery list each time you exit is incredibly annoying. It should be an automatic save with the option to delete all for a new list. The RecipeKeeper app which I was using previously is way better in that space. Wish I stuck with the pro version of their app rather than paid for this simply because of a more attractive UI.

Appears to the perfect recipe app so far. Have been using for a few days only but can see this is just the app I was after. I appreciate all the ways a recipe can be saved into the app, especially the ability to photograph ingredients lists and methods from a book. This is instantly transcribed (more accurately than I would have anticipated requiring only a few quantity corrections) saving any typing. Love how it syncs with the iPhone so I can pick up ingredients for recipes on the go. Love the meal planning feature that combines ingredients into a shopping list and the pleasing look of the app. I look forward to uploading all recipes and using it fully.

Favourite App. As a foody with too many cookbooks and notes on favourite recipes, with those “essential amendments”, Cookbook was a great find. The recipe import/upload facility, along with the editing, weight and serve converter is fantastic and so easy to use (upload online recipes in <10 secs and < 45 secs from hard copy). Still love browsing through the traditional cookbooks, but Cookbook has all my favourites and is now my go to for cooking.

Convenience in the kitchen. Best recipe app. Can add via computer and send recipes directly to others with the app. Can view via phone or iPad in the kitchen or even check ingredients list when shopping. Absolutely love this program.

Excellent app. I love this app. It does everything I need it to. It’s easy to use and easy to import recipes from websites. I have ditched my other recipe app and this is now my lifeline for meal planning, shopping lists and sharing recipes with other family members who also use the app.

Great except conversions when downloading. Great app, I use mostly to store recipes found in magazines. Only gripe is the conversions when downloading from website. It will often change cups to ml (metric). When previewing the download it shows correctly, eg 0.5 cup but once saved it has changed to ml (often happens with tsp/ml and tbs/ml too). Very frustrating as even editing won’t fix it.

Easy to use cookbook. Using this now for 3 months. Very happy. Easy to use. Nice overview with pictures of the dishes if you imported some of course, which is also easy to do. Would recommend this for everyone who wants to start their own personalised cookbook.

Weekly new planning made easy. I love this app! I’ve imported all my regular recipes (and more) and now enjoy planning our weekly meals. What’s even better is my husband can also see what’s on the menu and with a recipe to hand can start dinner before I get home.

Good App but it glitches. It’s a good app but sometimes the screen freezes or it glitches. I have to turn my phone off and on again to fix the glitches. Also, they don’t have conversions for Australian measurements, so I can’t use the conversion feature. It has all the makings of an amazing app so if they can fix the glitches and make it Aussie-friendly it will be 5 stars for sure!

Fantastic app. Was a great app before the upgrade, but the ability to record how many times you’ve cooked things is a bonus. I especially like the ability to export a pdf backup just in case or to print for a folder to share with family. Very easy to use!

OCR Doesn’t Work. This app is great in many ways. Unfortunately i have been using the app for about a week now, and it has started to crash every time I upload a recipe, and I am forced to re-do it again. On top of this, it lacks significantly when it comes to the Optical Character Recognition (OCR), which is why I purchased this app. I wanted to load all my cookbooks into a single app so I had access to all my recipes on my phone. However I was very disappointed when I actually attempted to upload the images. The character recognition is completely off, where is seems unable to pick up any fractions (a big part of most ingredient list). After a while I decided to time myself, and count the errors. It took me over 8 minutes to input a recipe, most of this time was correcting the errors (I counted 20 in the ingredients list alone - there were only 18 ingredients). This was after reading the reviews and the subsequent replies from the developer - I can guarantee you, it’s not poor lighting or picture quality, it’s poor software. The first recipe book I picked up to scan has around 250 recipes in it. It would take me 33 hours to load the recipes from one book. Let alone the other 50 books I have!

Brilliant! Absolutely brilliant!. This is my very first review since having an iPhone (since 2010) and have quite a number of apps that I have downloaded which have metaphorically "collected dust", including cook book type apps to store not only family recipes but recipes that I use for my cake business. I have deleted those apps and this takes one simply takes the cake (excuse the pun).😃 I tilt my hat to the Developer of this app for creating something that is so very simple to use and is aesthetically pleasing. Bravo! It was worth every dollar that I paid!

So much better than Pepperplate!. I've been using Pepperplate since at least 2013 and I was looking for a better app. It was between this app and Paprika. I'm so glad we went with Cookbook! The tags are super helpful and the OCR scanner is phenomenal. I use the bookmarklet as well in Chrome and it does a fairly great job of importing my recipes. I'm still transferring my entire collection over but I'm so excited to use this app and make suggestions to make it even better--like a ratings system for recipes in your collection. Check it out guys! It's really lovely and a dream to use.

Awesome!. I love this app. Downloaded it last week and easily added most of my recipes. Can easily create a meal plan for the week or longer. Creates a shopping list saving me heaps of time. The app is easy to use. Having all recipes in one place makes a big difference. Overall it’s a great time saver on the hard copy system I was using.

Cookbook makes organising dinner easy. Love how quick & easy it is to use this app. I’m working through all those printed favourite recipes to have them all in one place & I like being able to access across all my devices not just 1. Highly recommend

Game Changer!. My husband surprised me with this app. for Christmas and I have not looked back. Searching and finding recipes I love is such a pleasure with Cookbook. I see a recipe I love from any site and import it with the option of editing. All so quick and easy. I also have a lifetime pro subscription which has proved invaluable. So many other options as well. Only one point I have is that I would like to be able to print my recipes out in a larger font. If there is a way to do that I haven’t worked it out yet. Thank you Cookbook! Great app.!

Clean looking, user friendly app. We use this to menu plan and organise our recipes. I love the inbuilt timers and how you can tick off steps or ingredients. The ability to adjust serves is very useful. Difficulties usually lie in recipes that haven’t been “correctly” uploaded to blogs. But other than that it’s a great app.

A new era. Once I came to terms with throwing away my long kept bits of paper, CookBook proved very useful. So easy to import from internet. No more printing out. I love that I can take with me when I visit people. So easy to share (I asked my daughters and friends to buy the app as well). It would be 5star if I could photograph a hand written recipe and keep it just as it is.

My Favourite Way to store Recipes. I can save recipes as I find them, either online or in hard copy format. They are all in one place, and easy to find when I need inspiration and instructions. What I really love is the accessibility and portability. If I’m away from home, staying in a holiday rental and we want to eat in, I just find the recipe I want on either my iPad or iPhone. There’s no need to plan ahead and bring recipes from home. I also like that I can plan my menus and save them to the Planner calendar. It’s a great way to plan a dinner party. I tried several cook book apps, and for me, this is the best.

Very Disappointing. After a lot of initial research we decided on the Cookbook app, largely due to the fact that it was a lifetime purchase with no ongoing fee. So you can imagine our surprise when Cookbook advised they were moving to an annual fee and we would have no choice other than to pay up or lose all of our recipes. We feel as though we have been lied to and cheated out of our money, which is sad considering it has been a great app. Very disappointing indeed!

Excellent App with lots of great features. I have been using Cookbook for about 18 months and love it! My husband and I have been adding our favourite recipes from old cookbooks as well as newer ones from online and it is so easy. We have now started using the menu planning feature and I am creating master recipes for easy swapping in and out of ingredients. The menu planning feature allows you to add a simple meal such as ‘steak with salad and chips’ that doesn’t require a recipe so you can add the ingredients to the shopping list. Like other recipe apps I have seen, it doesn’t total the amount of ingredients across recipes but I can imagine that is hard to program. I highly recommend this app. Well worth the price!

Greedy developers. I have previously loved this app and spent a lot of time building up my cookbook to what I have today. However having purchased as a once-off I’ve seen today that they are now moving to a subscription model, how can they do that? Surely when you purchase once on the basis that you don’t want a subscription service they can’t just change it for existing users?! So greedy. Understand if you messed up your revenue model and now need to re-coup costs from any new users but how can you purchase something on the premise of one thing and then change to another?! How do I get a refund!! I don’t want to pay subscription so do I just lose all my recipes?? This is the reason I never trust app developers these days.

Love it. This is my favourite Cooking App i’ve used so far! I think its really nice that because i already pruchased the app, i get a free year subscription:) and to be honest i think its just fair for the developers to make it subscription based now, since the prices are totaly fair as well, i mean 1.50$ per month and 10$ per year, everyone can afford that (not like other subscription based apps that are 20$ per month) and once my free year runs out I’m 100% gonna do that! Big thumbs up for this app, i love it! The only little thing i’d really love to be able to do is to add more than one picture to my recipes! So i can put pictures of different variations in.

Great to scan recipes, shopping list is clunky. Fabulous to scan in recipes from apps & books and import from websites. Ok meal planning function. But the shopping list function is clunky. You have to choose a date period for the shopping list, it would be better if you could add any recipes to the shopping list to cater for meal prep. Also the shopping list sections are incompatible with shopping aisles and generally foods are not grouped well. Would be good if you could move the items into sections before shopping

Love, love, love it. Our family loves to share meals and food ideas both new and old and this platform allows for a centralised place to actively share this love. I no longer wonder if the old hand written recipes of my mother’s will disappear over time. Easy to use, wonderful to share… thank you

Busy mums need this app!!. I’ve often dashed into the supermarket to grab something for dinner for the family but have had to wing it because I didn’t have my favourite recipes handy. Always get home without some vital ingredient. This app is such a lifesaver!! I’ve started scanning recipes I’ve ripped out of magazines over the years & entering them. It will take me a while, as I have lots, but it’s an easy process to undertake. Great app!!

Highly Recommended!. A fantastic recipe manager app which I can highly recommend and well worth the few dollars. Very flexible in the manner in which recipes can be added to your own database. I used the scan / OCR option recently for adding a recipe from a supermarket flyer and was really surprised at how intuitive the process was. Adding recipes using a web url is super easy. The more I use the app the more functionality I’m finding which is great. The developers have really thought this through! I trust you find this app as useful as I do ....

Best recipe manager!. I have recommended this app to so many friends, it is great value, looks beautiful and I love being able to store all the recipes from magazine clippings. I would like the ‘surprise me’ feature to only include certain types of foods, so for example if I don’t know what to cook I’ll use surprise me, but it will often come up with cake or biscuits because there is no filter. I have a big range of sweet and savoury recipes stored in the app so using the surprise me feature is less useful because I have to click through about 10 times before I can get to a suitable dinner recipe. Other than that I absolutely LOVE it ☺️

Best cook Book app out there. Love it!!!!!. It’s easy to use. My whole family can access my recipes. All my favourites in one place. Easy timer and conversion tools. Able to tick off steps. Easy to copy and paste URL. Can’t fault app. App developers are also really helpful.

Crazy for this app. ❤️ Cookbook. I went looking for an app that would streamline my recipe filing and enable me access to multiple recipes for a dinner party as I was sick having 5 books on the bench and difficult to use Pinterest boards! The app has revolutionised how I store and use my recipes and how I create shopping lists and plan my weekly menu. It’s incredible to be at the markets and discover a fresh ingredient is in season and to quickly refer to the app to find all the recipes I like to cook with that ingredient and know exactly what I need to buy. Saving recipes from online links is also a dream and means I have quickly built up a collection of 400 recipes to which I refer often. I have photographed all my old favourite recipes from different books and now all my recipes are in the one place - it’s a dream. I also use the app to plan our weekly menu to focus what we eat, be more healthy, and be more efficient with shopping. Finally, now that so many of my family and friends are also using the app we are constantly sharing recipes within the app in a way that is so efficient and easy. I couldn’t be more positive about my experience with CookBook. Karen, Sydney.

Brilliant app - exactly what I needed!!. I absolutely love this app. I cook from a lot of internet recipes and was forever trying to google “pumpkin soup” and find THE pumpkin soup I made that one time that was so amazing...and it was a real pain. Then I found this app and it has changed my life! It’s like finding a magic recipe book that has all your favourite recipes in it and nothing else, and unlimited ability to add more! User experience is pretty flawless - just click a button and a recipe is imported, and neatly sliced up into ingredients and method which helps with shopping. I have never rated an app on the App Store before but I literally could not resist this time. It is the best app on my phone!!

Blackmailing Customers by transition to Subscription Model. It is not acceptable to provide existing customers with a trial subscription. They invested in your product, and now you want to charge them monthly and yearly. If you want to change to a subscription model, fine. But don’t force existing customers who invested time and energy into adding data to your app, only to find you will delete it, or render it useless if they don’t pay. An absolute disgrace. I’ll be moving my data to Recipe Keeper. You should only be charging new customers. This is dishonest, dishonourable and disrespects the people who built your reputation. Another reason I will be transitioning to Recipe Keeper is that they offer offline access and a much more full featured application.

Exactly what I’ve been looking for. I’m absolutely loving the cookbook app! It’s exactly what I’ve wanted and looked for in an app over the years but could never quite find. A library of all my recipes, linked back to the websites they come from, with the ability to menu plan for the week, where I can go straight from my menu to the recipe. I can make a shopping list with the click of a button, and hide all the ingredients I’ve already got in the pantry. There’s even the ability to share the shopping list with the hubby. It’s perfect. A full 5 stars. Thank you to the developers! It’s like you read my mind!

Your daily cooking assistant. This app is the best app I’ve ever downloaded. I have been using it for years, and everyone I have recommended it to has spoken just as highly of it. It becomes my go to for meal planning, recipe referencing while cooking, and ingredient shopping. If you are a cook you need this app. We obtain a library of recipes through links, family, magazine cutouts, books we don’t own but just want one recipe from it, and this app is where to store them. Look no further and download it you won’t regret it!!!

This app is the best!. Not only can you incorporate recipes from websites for example Taste, you can also scan your recipes from the cookbook. It has OCR. You have to play with it to get the labels right and therefore takes a bit of time initially to set it up but once you’ve got a few recipes in there you can just keep adding over time. I then meal plan dinner for a week, pull out the grocery list, delete items I don’t need then bang it into Coles. It’s the best way I can make sure my family eats well, be organised as we all work and not waste ingredients!

Brilliant. This app is so brilliant. I was searching for an app that organizes all my recipes. I downloaded and deleted many. When i finally downloaded this my search had ended. And the more i kept on using it i realized the developers have gone through great lengths to understand the features of a recipe organizer app. Thank you for developing this.

Julie. A fantastic app..no longer use “paper” recipe books. Easy to exchange recipes with others using email, a simple app to work out and I am a 69 year old woman 😊

So intuitive and easy to use. Have been using this app for years, and it is still my go-to for recipe storage. You can enter recipes manually of course, but the features to transfer a recipe from a website are the absolute best bit - just enter the URL and it does all the work - finds the photo, ingredients, method steps, even a link to the video if there’s one included on the webpage. Love that I can take my favourite recipes with me wherever I go - if I’m on the train and find a good recipe it takes under a minute to pop it in on my phone, and then I can get it up on my iPad when I’m home. And being a bit of a messy cook, it’s great that food splashes just wipe off my iPad!! Highly recommend.

Great App!. I have downloaded this app a week ago and I’m very happy with it. The app has surprised me a few times with features I didn’t expect. I contacted the customer service this afternoon and received an answer a few hours later! Definitely worth the price. I’m a happy customer!

Loved the app, but…. I purchased the app because it was an amazing concept and I love being able to organize all my recipes and access it easily. Unfortunately, we now have to pay for a monthly suscription. I am not using the app that often. For me it was an app I can rely on to store all my recipes at the same place. Maybe a subscription plan is not the right fit for me.

Does not work with Lockdown on. It is an excellent app that I rely on for my everyday cooking. I am happy to have gotten the lifetime license and do not regret it for a second. However, I recently implemented lockdown on ios and immediately after the app no longer works. I know it is lockdown because when I disable the feature, the Cookbook app works. Unfortunately my online security and privacy are more important than accessing my recipes. If you can fix this so I don’t have to choose, I’d be happy to change my rating to 5 stars.

Cooking awesomeness. The title says it all. Elegant, beautiful, easy to use. The import function is so good with most pages I’ve come across. I’ve looked at lots of other apps and I love this one.

I paid for the app, I should be able to keep having it for free. I paid for the app and to have unlimited scans and receipts back when it was a paid app. Now I will get a one year subscription to have the same features and more. After that I will have to pay for the same features I bought. This is flat out theft.

Easy to use great format. I love this app. I started using it when I got my instant pot and needed specific recipes. Now every time I come across a recipe that sound remotely interesting I copy it to the app! The format used for the actual recipe is great to use. Able to see ingredients and switch to method and I like the mark off feature so you do not lose your spot. Would highly recommend this app to anyone that wants a digital cookbook

Love this app!. It’s easy to use, easy to edit as you adjust recipe and you can share recipes with friends

Cook Book Review. I have just recently switched my cookbook app to Cook Book and I couldn’t be happier. I used and loved my old Recipe Box app for at least 10 years. Unfortunately it slowly started to degrade and I had to keep restarting the app because it would crash. It stopped sending recipes by text and messenger so I was forced to find a new app. after trying out three or four apps, Cook Book was the one I decided on. It was easy to transfer my old recipes and I love the way you can import recipes, as well as inserting old handwritten recipes from my grandmother. If you are looking for a recipe app, I highly recommend Cook Book.

Great app!. I just purchased this app and I am really pleased with not only the many features it has but the great customer service. I had a couple of problems and I contacted the developer. Not only did they get back to me quickly but they gave very detailed instructions that fixed the problem. I would highly recommend this app.

Great recipe app, needs some grocery list upgrades. The actual recipe book component of the app is phenomenal, but the grocery list aspect needs work. It would be great if the app integrated ‘like’ items that are phrased differently across recipes (ex. Cilantro vs fresh cilantro). Also, it would be nice to be able to manually edit the grocery list and reorganize among aisles. Finally, it would be nice if the list intelligently rounded up on quantities. So instead of 2 tbsp of lemon juice, it would realize this means 1 lemon minimum.

Cover Photo. Would it be possible to change the front cover so that the dirty/spoiled patch in front of the stove on the carpet, doesn’t show!! Thank you. I would have rate a 5 if that dirty patch wasn’t there.

Latest version doesn’t work. The previous versions made it very easy to scan recipes however the latest incarnation only scans one portion of the photo.

Almost perfect. Importing works great, great search function, love the display on iPad with method and ingredients side by side. Major draw back is it doesn’t allow to group steps or ingredients in a same recipe. The old pepper plate had this, you can group your steps into different sections of a recipe like “sauce” and “meat” or “pastry” and “filling”.

Amazing app and people. I have been using this app for several years and looooove it so much. I never lose a recipe and can put all the recipes I see on different platforms in one place. I save so much money too, no longer need to go through a series of recipe books, magazines or sites to find the one I made for an event and really liked. Easy to use and well done app. And to top it all off the customer service is amazing: fast, courteous and effective. I highly recommend this app and look forward to its new features!

Pretty good, but still place for improvement for the web app. Good price for what it does, nice feature to import new recipes to your cookbook, especially OCR and the clipper tool but still limited for planning on the PC. I like adding recipes on my PC and planning also on my PC. Planning on PC do not work. But I’ve been told there is an updated version of the web app coming. Then I check inventory with my iPad and go ordering grocery online on my PC. During the week when I cook I only use the iPad. So it miss some development for the web app, mainly for planning. As I said for the price it is a good app to gather all your recipe from your books, magazine and the internet.

Best App I’ve Purchased. Love this app! Great to download recipes. Tags to sort them. Great for menu planning and grocery shopping. No issues One little feature that is helpful when my family use it is that you can like recipes. So if you typically serve another recipe with a particular dish, they know where to look. Eg a sauce that might be used for several recipes. You can also add a wine pairing. The one thing I hope for in the future would be to have repeating menu planning weeks

Amazing and simple. This app is fun and easy to use

Scummiest Business Ever. I purchased the app. Then, 2 years later, they revoked my purchase and are now requiring a subscription. Is this even legal?

Excellent app for all your favourite recipes!. I love love love this app! All my favourite recipes in one place! There’s thousands of recipes online but when you want to cook something you can’t really find one quickly! This is my saviour! I just type “salmon” in the app search bar and all my salmon favourite saved recipes are there! Well organized! Easy to edit! You can adjust the recipe based on your preferences. I can’t write enough how happy I am with this app. Highly recommend this app. It’s like buying a good book! I didn’t hesitate a second buying the lifetime membership! Genius app! A big Thank you to the developers!

Love it!. I downloaded this app when it first was available and it was not quite what I was looking for. About a year later I checked it out again and was so impressed with the updates and improvements. I love the workflow and how it is organized. It totally meets my organizing style. I don’t mind the subscription fee schedule because that is what every app is doing now. I also love that you can see what improvements they are working on based on consumer feedback. When I reach out to this company I get a response in a timely fashion. That’s why it gets a 5 ⭐️ rating.

Nearly Perfect. Would be great if you could have headers in the Ingredients or instructions ... for example if you were separating sauce ingredients and steps from the main part of the dish to be combined later.

Finally an app I have been looking for. I have been looking for an app like this for years. I have a lot of printed cookbooks but no room to store them. This meant they would rarely get used due to storage. With this app, I can select the recipes from the books and store them on the app. You can also create meal plans, so no need to use multiple books. Great job!

Great recipe manager app!. I love this app, works perfectly for organizing all my recipes. Importing from websites or scanning with OCR is really useful and the web site makes it really easy to correct the few ocr misses.

I love this app!. I love this app. Especially it’s ability to import recipes! I never cook without it!

Better than a Book. This is hands down the best cookbook app I have ever tried . With me all the time, I get only recipes I want and can add change as I please. 10 stars for me!

Beat app!. My friends and family are starting to think that I am getting “kick backs” as I am always recommending this app! It is so easy to import a recipe from a website and then have it in a better format. I love the meal planning and shopping features of the app! A must have for busy families or anyone who likes to collect recipes!

Great app - could use improvements but better then most on the market!. Love the app I have already over 250 recipes in the app! It has a nice “recipe” follow along when your cooking with easy timers and even reading out instructions. Also makes it easy to share recipes via a PDF. Some things that I would want to see improved: - shopping list to be a little more user friendly. If the ingredients aren’t written in the same manner items will appear more than once. Also no ability to have pantry staples but this actually makes me confirm I have all those staples and didn’t run out. - Would love to sort by the source of the recipe. - Timer to go off when the app is “closed”. - Maybe a section/button for tried/made. This could be in the recipe notes but would be more fun if there was a section for this. Other than that a 10/10!

I am loving it!. There is a lot of cookbook recipes app and I try most of them even the paid one but this one has something the others don't have. My wife also agree so this one stays in all our devices. Thank you for making life easier!

I paid for the app and now they changed it to subcribtion. I think it is not fair that they can change a paid app to subscription, I now only have a year longer that I can use it without paying more and before it was a lifetime. I don’t think it’s fair

Excellent Recipe Manager. I’ve been using this app for a couple of years now, and I love it! It’s a great way to gather recipes from the internet, magazines and cookbooks into one spot for easy retrieval and a consistent format. After trying other recipe managers that just didn’t cut it, I was really pleased to find this one - it’s perfect for my needs. It’s very easy to import a recipe directly from a website, or take a photo of one in a magazine or cookbook and scan it into the app. The scanner (OCR) works very well, although I suggest double-checking it because it can occasionally misread something (easy enough to make changes and/or add your own comments). The clean layout makes the recipe easy to follow, and even includes built-in timers. You can automatically scale the recipe up or down, depending on the number of servings you want to make, or change a recipe to your preferred unit of measure. All in all, it’s a solid, polished recipe manager that is well worth the cost. I’d definitely recommend it to others (and I have!)

Definitely worth the money!. This app is by far the best recipe app i’ve come across, and has only gotten better with the recent updates. It’s and must have and has everything i need and want in a personal cookbook app and more!

Good app overall. I’ve been using this app for over a month now and I still think it is a great one overall. There is room for improvement though, which is the reason I am giving it 4 stars out of 5: - search does not really deliver on expectations, when I read in the description that you could literally just type what you have in the fridge, I got very excited, but actually the app does not live up to this claim; you can only search by a single keyword at a time, there is no option to get recipes that contain more than one keyword - you can create custom tags, but you cannot delete a tag: when things are organized this way, you would expect that unused tags are automatically deleted, but that does not happen and with time my tag list gets polluted with a lot of tags with spelling mistakes or tags that I’ve changed my mind about planning meals only covers a specific scenario in which someone goes to the store only once a week; I don’t plan my meals a week ahead and I would appreciate more flexibility and for god sake, the option to delete an entire recipe ingredients from the shopping list There is no option to export all recipes in the app, or just a selected set of them, PDF option to export does not include the images and you have to export recipe by recipe No option to add more than 1 image per step or simply more images to the recipe Again, not a bad app overall, and still I would expect the above points to be addressed before I decide to use it as my main recipe reference.

Best meal planning/cooking app ever!!. Deals with all the issues in the other apps, it’s the one I’ve been looking for for a long time. Love the look/ design of it as well as the functionality. There was a bit of a learning curve getting started in terms of a few smaller details but the support team got back to me within the day and helped me sort it all out.

Great app !. Very complete app. When written in the right format recepe very easy to import. Love the way it allow to follow recepe.

I love this app!. This is, by far, the best way to store recipes! Not only is it dead easy to import recipes from the internet (I love the last update that provided this feature!) and it’s just as easy to add your own! I love the categorization ability and the planner feature. Well, actually I love all the features this app provides!!!

Account set up required. You have to set up an account to use it, even if you don’t want to share across devices. I would like a refund

Paid for app and now they changed to subscription based!!. It’s not fair for the people who have already paid for this app to be switched to ONLY 1year free subscription. Update: I wrote to the developer and he promptly replied back. I really had no idea until I read his message about all the work that goes into making and maintaining an app. I truly appreciate him explaining in detail about the entire process. Even though they changed my subscription plan, which I truly appreciate, I would have still been happy to stay with the app as I believe it is the best meal planning app out there. Anyone reading this review, I genuinely recommend this meal planning app to everyone looking for one. It will make your life a lot easy.

Unfair to old users who paid flat rate for app. I purchased this app as a one time fee. Now they changed it to a monthly subscription. If I knew that I would have chose the other competing app that’s still a one time fee. You should give customers who paid for the app the option of no annual or monthly fee and include ads or something else you can monetize if you need your costs of upkeep are so high.

A must if you cook from recipes.. I’ve been using the app for more than 3 years, I had the paid version and without a question this is the most used app on my IPad. I love how easy is to import recipes, add pictures for every step, if the recipe doesn’t have step by step pictures, it’s easy to add them while cooking the recipe to have them for future reference or if you share the recipe with other people(which is very easy to do) Another great feature is the ability to scale up or down the recipe, adjusted for as many servings you need (genius) as for holidays I usually have to increase everything. The ability to hide each performed step as you progress with the recipe is great, no need to check where you are. I started importing my favourite recipes from the cookbooks I own just so I can have all the features the app offers. Add the timer for each step is a great feature. You can also add the link for a video if the recipe is imported from a website. I can not recommend this app enough. That’s why I didn’t hesitate to buy the lifetime subscription when they offered.

Good app but can be a bit complicated at first. Almost none of my recipes uploaded correctly so you are basically left typing them all in. However, once they’re in the app they’re great. Just make sure that you update all of the settings before you start. Initially I had some challenges with the amounts changing because the recipes were scaling based on the number of servings.

They switched to subscription model… after I paid the one-time fee. I loved this app and all its features, so much so that my husband and I each bought it at its one-time upfront price. Now after taking the time to upload all our recipes, we’re being pushed to pay monthly to maintain access. This is absolute theft for those who purchased previously. If you need more revenue add ads or switch the model for new customers- don’t double bill the existing ones.

Prompt response from support. Was unhappy with the switch to subscription model. Support promptly made things right after voicing my concerns. Happy with the app from a usage perspective and would recommend to friends.

Excellent app. I used to struggle to remember where I had found a recipe on the web and this app makes it so easy to pop my favourites all together. I’ve also taken photos from magazines and family cookbooks to keep things in one place. Finally, I love how easy it is to share the recipes. This really is exactly what you need to organize your culinary chaos!

I LOVE THIS APP. I use this all the time to easily import recipes that I've tried or want to try from websites. I love that it's easy to use and organizes everything beautifully. It's a much nicer looking recipe app vs others I looked at before settling on this one. No regrets, I use this constantly!

Cookbook. Away too annoying to use

Great app!. Love the recipe, planner, and shopping functionality. Would love if ingredients were populated with nutritional information so that we could see macros etc. for our recipes. Hopefully that will be an update to be added soon!

I LOVE this App. I love this App!!! The features that I use the most are the ability to copy recipes from websites with just the http address, and taking pictures of recipes, not on line, to save a copy of family traditions. The App is easy to use and makes my life easier every single day.

Great app and even better support. I had quite a few recipes that got trapped in an app that was cancelled without informing users. I reached out to the support team at Cook Book to see if they could rescue my hostage recipes. They promised to try…..and they delivered. Not only did they salvage my recipes….they loaded them into my Cook Book recipes and annotated them so that I could easily identify them to be sure they transferred properly! Talk about service. And the app is fantastic! I use it all the time. Thank you!!

Best cooking app ever!. Love it! Perfect and so easy to use. Import from site, pictures ( it write the text for you), so easily!! No more cooking books or piles of papers and notes book.. i´ve imported them all in my cook book. Log on phone, computer... and export your receipe to keep a backup. So perfect and fun to use! I use it every day. Thanks a lot for this perfect app i was looking for a long time. I tried s lot of them, but it never lasted more than few minutes.. This one is the one i was looking for!!! I’m not paid to say that, try it you will undertstand.

Can’t even upload a recipe from the food network. I am beyond disappointed with this app. The app looks cute but does not deliver. Every time I use the app i get so frustrated and think why do I bother, then I attempt again a few days later and have the same feeling. You can’t even upload a recipe from the Food Network ... literally on tv, yet the app does not recognize this site. Now it recognizes the site and will import the photo but no ingredients or steps. I have to copy and paste all my recipes and it is more tedious than any app I’ve used. I am infuriated by the makers of such a garbage app. Like I can’t understand how you can sell an app that doesn’t actually do the job that it’s supposed to do. I would say 1 of 10 recipes I try to import work and the rest I’m stuck copy and pasting back and forth from the original site. Please improve this app.

Excellent app. This is a great app! It offers the ability to directly add in recipes from web sites (if written in the correct way), scan from printed pages or photos of recipes in books. Just be sure to check the final ingredients and instructions (3/4 cup may be interpreted as 34 cups!)

Bought before; now they want me to pay again. I bought the app in the past for lifetime. Apparently that means only a couple years to this company, as to use the pro features again, they switched to subscription model. They also offer another “lifetime” option. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me”. They offered half off a year subscription. I’m not doing the “lifetime” option for a a year or two until Cookbook 3.0 comes out.

Cookbook App. The BEST app for organizing and storing recipes - I couldn’t believe it until I started using it. You can actually import them from the web and it’ll let you edit and customize them to your taste along with saving the web image - WOWWWWWW!!!!! Now I have 200 recipes or so and counting of things I’ve always wanted to make and no need to shuffle through emails at the grocery store - Thx Cookbook team :)!

❤️ it!. So amazing how it can import recipes from the web and put everything where it belongs! This one replaces all my similar recipe-storage apps. There are many features I have yet to try; however, just had to rate it now--extremely impressed! I'm going to go ahead and purchase the lifetime version, as I believe it's well worth it to get all my recipes organized. Highly recommend CookBook app!

Really good cookbook. I love this app. The one I used for years suddenly stopped updating, and kiss of doom coming. This one is perfect, except it doesn’t work with Apple Pencil ver 2. You can easily download recipes from the web, pretty much effortlessly. You can use OCR, copy and paste, and simple text entry in addition. My main problem is having 500 recipes to transfer over and it takes a while. This was one of my "fake" pandemic tasks to complete, but my rage over discovering the fake King Flu did me in.

Dedicated team, great app with a nifty design!. Changed over from Paprika a while ago purely because in my opinion cookbook is made with love and an eye for details - just a pleasure to use. Keep up your great work, you rock! Thanks S.G. for your response regarding my inquiry.

Best Recipe Manager!. I love that this app doesn’t come bloated with a bunch of suggested recipes. I have my own recipes, I just need somewhere to keep them! The web clipper is awesome, ocr works beautifully to import from my cookbooks. Tagging helps me find what I’m looking for. The app is simple but perfectly executed.

Love this app.. I have never been so excited about an app before. All my recipes are in one place 👏. Copying and transferring recipes is a breeze. I copied a recipe from a magazine while waiting at my dentist's office. I will love it even more if it offers something like the featured recipe of the day. It still gets five stars. I have a question: do the lifetime subscription has limited content?

My most used app. I’ve been through so many cookbook/recipe apps. I even tried keeping my recipes in hard copy. But when I found this app, I knew I finally found what I was looking for. I love the timer feature, the importing feature, and the recipe sharing feature. I basically love all the features.

Great app. While there are still some glitches on importing recipes- it’s not the apps fault- recipe sites have begun to change the way the recipe is presented in their web site. It causes the app to not recognize the text. A simple work around is to copy the ingredients and paste then the directions. Doesn’t take much time. I love that I can combine written family recipes with printed recipes and website recipes in one place. It also does a great job in planning the week to create a shopping list. This is the only app for recipes worth getting!

Just what I wanted -. And didn’t know such an app existed! Amazing they have thought of everything in this cookbook application. Easy import of recipes with my iPad even photos. Scaleable recipe prep, favorites, searchable and even a meal planner with grocery list to text or email to yourself. Bravo - every cooks dream come true. Thank you!

Phenomenal app!. While I am new to the app, I’m excited to discover all that I haven’t found on it yet. I love that I don’t have to type out all the recipes. I love that I can copy a URL and it recognizes that I have it waiting when I open the app. I love that it will convert quantities according to serving sizes. I will be sharing my love for this app wherever I can! Well done! And, thank you!!

Love this app. I’ve been cooking for more than 50 years and have a cookbook collection that covers 25’ of shelving. I love to cook and was thrilled when my daughter suggested Cookbook it’s an incredible app. So far Ive added over a 1000+ recipes to the app great for shopping and wonderful to access the recipes without going through 20-30 cookbooks to find them!

Now i have to subscribe?!?. I’ve been using this app since I “BOUGHT IT “ in June 2020. It’s worked fine for me since then, no issues. Now I find out that it’s going to be subscription based, and I’m expected to pay for it again?? What a joke! It’s not the $5 that I’ve spent that bothers me. It’s the fact that I’ve already paid for it. I’ve found another app that I will be transferring my recipes to, and will be saying bye-bye to this developer.

The answer to my recipes!. I’ve been living in recipe book chaos for several years now and have been looking for a solution. The cookbook app is the EXACT answer I was looking for! It is outstanding. I love this app so much. If you are like me and have a binder of accomplished family or other recipes this is the app for you! It brings all of those recipes of the tips of your fingers so you always have them with you. Thank so you much cookbook team!

Maybe the best cooking companion. I subscribe to Marley Spoon, and this app is the perfect companion to add a Marley Spoon (or any other like Blue Apron, etc) so you can remake later. Pictures and OCR scan work well, and the search function works as expected. I will start adding recipes as a cook. I have searched over 10 diff cooking apps, and this is the easiest so far to add existing recipes from your paper sources. It also has an HTML export function, perfect!

It used to be good. Purchased the original version of the app based on the features available. The developer had promised that the features would still be available as long as I had the original app. Just another example of going back on promises for the early supporters. Disappointed that I am now locked out of my recipes because i bought the lifetime subscription when the lifetime subscription was the app purchase. I wonder how long the new ‘lifetime’ purchase will last. I guess the old saying is true that if you want something done right, do it yourself.

Love it!. So easy and quick to add recipes from different sources, share them with friends, add photos as I make the recipes, and have my ingredients needed right at my fingertips when I have a recipe impulse in the grocery store! Fun to thumb through pictures to decide what to make! And no more bulky cookbooks!

Best app ever. I don’t normally pay for apps on my phone, but I had zero problem paying for this app because it is so helpful. Aside from being able to quickly and easily save online recipes into one area, being able to take all of my old printed recipes and easily scan them into the app and get rid of all that old paper is priceless beyond words. I have recommended this app to anyone who will listen.

Fantastic app with one exception.. I love this app! It’s simple and easy to use, however one bug would be that on the US standard measurement setting, it changes “cups” to “fluid ounces” even if it’s a dry ingredient!!! It kind of gets confusing and it changes it whether you like it or not. A five star rating would be in order if that was changed!

Great app. I love this app, I tell everybody about it. One minor nitpick, it’s very annoying that when you schedule a recipe it defaults to one serving rather than how many servings are in the recipe as written. If you’re not thinking you’ll end up buying or adding the wrong amount of ingredients. It’s most likely that the user wants to make the recipe as written, so that should be the default.

Wonderful way to organize!. This app is it truly fantastic. It’s super easy to add a recipe and organize them exactly the way you want them. I’ve had a couple issues and someone has responded incredibly fast and been super helpful. I can’t recommend it enough!

Almost perfect. I have been a long time user of this app and I absolutely love it. My ONLY complaint is my additional grocery items I add do not sync across devices. I usually make my weekly recipe and grocery list on my iPad, but have to add my additional items in my iPhone, I don’t want to bring my iPad to the grocery store. Fix that or tell me how to get it to sync and then this would be a 10 star app.

Best. App. Ever.!. For a person like me who considers herself to have limited computer skills, this app is amazingly easy to use. Well worth the $4.99. In the last few days I have uploaded recipes that were ripped out of magazines and have been in my corner cabinet for years. ( I use them of course) yet now there is no more clutter. I shared my recipes via email in matter of a minute by PDF file, and I just uploaded in less than 30 seconds a recipe from the Food Network. I feel like a computer wiz and just LOVE this app. One of the best investments I ever made. One recommendation is that you read the recipes after you up load them Bc sometimes it will read 4 cups when it means 1/4cup. There can be a glitch with the backslash.

I wish I’d found this years ago!. I finally decided to do as my friends have asked me, and I’m making a record of my recipes. After auditioning half a dozen apps, this is the one I’m sticking with. If I ever programmed a database for recipes, this is *exactly* what I would come up with — well done!

Love, love, love this app. Don’t hesitate. Download it.. I absolutely love this app. It’s great for storing all of my recipes, for meal planning and for shopping. I do wish they made it slightly easier to share recipes with people who aren’t on the app. A social network kind of function would be great, too. I’d love to share recipes with friends and family.

OK. Would be a decent app if it were free but seeing as it’s $5, I expected more. It’s functional and is able to import recipes from websites, which is great. However the reason for my rating is that even with all my settings configured, if I type in a cup of flour, it will change it to 1.06 cups after I save it. If it’s a tablespoon of extract, it will change it to 3.04 teaspoons. Very annoying because I type what I type for a reason. I have no clue why it would change one cup of something into 1.06 cups.

Great improvements. It was a good app, but this new update brought in great improvements. Of all the cooking apps I have tried, this has quickly become my favorite! The only changes I would make are: 1) Ability to add recipes offline, 2) Ability to delete app-native tags and 3) Ability to subtitle some steps.

LOVE THIS APP!. I’ve wanted to develop recipes to compile into a cookbook or for a newsletter for a WHILE. This app isn’t just EASY to use, the out put is so PRETTY too! It takes ‘my work’ to a new level without me having to do a lot of extra formatting other apps require! My ONLY suggestion would be to offer an option to create a cookbook of ‘my own’ recipes from the app (and cookbook app please contact me if you want more ideas/feedback around this!) I’d LOVE TO give you all my thoughts and pay for what you put together!!

Helpful. This app makes storing and finding recipes so convenient! I easily imported old family recipes, and magazine recipes. Also, instead of hundreds of bookmarked recipes on the internet, I imported those too. It’s simple to edit and add notes; it converts measurements instantly when you choose a different number of servings, so you don’t have to do a lot of math. You can share the recipes too. I use it every day.

Definitely Worth the $5. I’m a big fan of this app and tell everyone I know that this app is very beneficial for those of us who are semi-avid chefs. If there was an option to make a grocery list (where it combines selected ingredient lists) by adding certain recipes you’ve gathered. Like if I don’t write a list; I will sometimes find myself going through the different recipes I have to see what else I need to buy. Other than that though.. no issues 👍🏼

I’ve been using cookbook for almost a year. I live this app! Im always collecting recipes. Before I used Cookbook, I had magazines all over the place and no way to organize the recipes that interested me. Cookbook has helped me to reduce the clutter a s to be able to find the recipes I’m looking for. It’s easy to import recipes from websites and mailing lists, too!

Great App!! Just one suggestion :). This app is nearly perfect! I love the design and all of the features. The only feature I would love added is the ability to organize tags into custom groups so you can organize recipes in your own way - I would love to see this in a future update!

Thoroughly thought through.... Storing recipes is getting easier and easier thanks to CookBook! Find a recipe online? Add the link and it brings up the recipe. Trusted recipe in a falling apart magazine? Snap a picture and scan in the recipe with fairly good accuracy. Create your own recipe? Type it in as you go snapping pics for each stage of the recipe. This is a 4 star rating versus 5 because there are some tweaks and small improvements that could be made but I am so happy with it as is. Plus, you get a shopping list created for you when selecting meal plans...really great app.

Not a good recipe app. I just got this app, and I’m very disappointed. When you add a recipe, you take pictures and AI transfers it to the recipe format. It’s pretty good, but there are some things that you have to change. However, making these changes is near impossible. There’s no way to see where you’re typing or what letter you’re set to delete. That is, there’s no blue line to see where you are, and you can’t just click on a spot and start deleting from there. It just starts deleting from the end. I’m so frustrated. What a waste of money.

Functional regression with otherwise decent design changes. While the new changes to the app look nice, they've made it much harder to enter recipes. It used to be super easy to use the OCR feature and fly through adding all my favorite recipes from a given book. The ease of entering and maintaining recipes from books was really the primary reason I used this app. It seems unlikely that I will continue to use it with these new changes.

I love the Cookbook app.. My son hooked me up with this app and I am addicted. I have several recipe sites that email me recipes. I look through them and then save the ones I like to Cookbook. Then when I am in the mood for say cauliflower or eggplant I just type that item into search and it brings up all the cauliflower recipes I have saved. Then my grocery list is a snap.

Best recipe app!. I think I’ve tried ever recipe app and website out there starting in the early 2000s (Big Oven, Paprika, Monkey something-or-other….you name it) and this is the best, most intuitive app I’ve found. It works great both on desktop and the phone and importing is seamless. Very happy to have found this solution and used it for a couple of years. Well worth the $$.

Just what I’ve been searching for!. This app is wonderful. It has so many features and I appreciate that you can save 40 recipes before you have to purchase. The meal planner is visual vs. text which I appreciate, and I was delighted to see that you can view which ingredients go to which recipe on the shopping list. This app even makes answering the “what’s for dinner” question easy by putting todays meal on the dashboard.

Finally cataloging my favorite printed recipes!. This app makes collecting recipes pretty painless, including ones you might be photographing from your collection of vintage church cookbooks. The OCR hasn’t really failed me yet. I also like the feature that recognizes a recipe URL on your clipboard when you open the app. Meal planning is fairly easy, too, although I wish you could add a manual note for some meals (e.g. “leftovers”) without having to have a recipe saved

My favorite app!. This by far is my favorite application. I got rid of 15 cookbooks that just took up space and time trying to find that one recipe. This app is such a timesaver for me. It saves me time in the kitchen and at the market where I can use the generated grocery list for my planned meals.

Great Paprika alternative. I got fed up after losing years worth of recipes on Paprika, so I figured I’d try this app out. I had a question about the app before my purchase, and I was contacted within hours by the kindest lady. This was an instant purchase, and I’m loving it so far. I’m a professional cook, and I love the leftovers option, mostly as inspiration. Thank you all, keep up the great work.

Thoughtfully designed, amazingly functional, beautiful. This is the best recipe management app I’ve tried (and I’ve spent a lot of time testing them out!). Incredibly thoughtful features—hyperlinked timers from the text of the recipe, link from the home screen to today’s planned meal, accurate ocr for print cookbook recipes—and clean, intentional design to pack them all in in a way that’s intuitive to use and visually pleasing.

Search no further. I was fed up with our old recipe saving app. I decided I wanted something that was going to work right, I was ready to pay extra for it. It was so worth it! It’s so easy to use! It has such a pretty, and simple layout. I love that you can input recipes in multiple ways. The tags for recipes is so handy! Sharing recipes is easier. I haven’t tried the leftovers option yet, but that looks interesting! Thanks for making this app ❤️

Buggy. It’s a great idea but the execution is Buggy. Recipe import from URL doesn’t work well. The import only works for the first 2-4 items /lines and then you have to do all the work manually. They miss finding the description, more than 2 ingredients etc. The Zest app did this much better.

Works great. After a short learning curve, I was able to load recipes from websites, from paper copies, and from other Cookbook user friends. I like the option of seeing the ingredients and the preparation steps on one screen for use while I’m cooking or baking. The features recently added and planned enhancements show this developer is listening to its users. Thanks for creating a useful app.

Great for the working Chef. This app is perfect it’s not too little and not too much just what a real Chef needs to create his recipes and continue to move forward without wasting too much time thank you

Best cookbook app!. I tried several of these apps and this was far and away the easiest and best version. Simple upload and easy to customize! Has quickly become my go to way to save and organize recipes

Misleading. I purchased this app after much research and have been happily organizing my online recipes and cooking from it since. However, though I purchased it free and clear they’re now changing the rules and becoming a subscription and calling it 2.0. Sure, they’re giving me a free year, but that wasn’t the deal we made. Very disappointed they didn’t maintain the original agreement and offer their update as an option I could choose if the improvements seemed worth it. What a great app that’s sadly led by shifty leaders going the subscription-take-you-for-all-you’re-worth path. Just so bummed.

They thought of everything!. It's quite amazing all the features packed in this app. Timers, checking off ingredients, scaling the recipe (e.g. make it for 2 when recipe was given for 1), and most importantly how you can import recipes from the web! That's the killer feature for me.
