User friendly. The app is amazing, also the quality of the image the cameras provide is awesome, there is something I want the app could have, is try to implement in the playback space, an option that we can advance the video by 5,10,30 seconds like other apps can have.

So frustrated and disgusted. This app and company should be charged with theft because nothing works and no one fixes. How this company is still in business is a crime itself. You think you are keeping your possessions safe with security camera but reality is you were just ripped off because you cannot even use the app and the app keeps the camera off line even though you can see the camera is on. I hate this company and have written many letters with not a single response so now I’ll report to BBB

Love it!. Omg I’m so glad I didn’t read the reviews before purchasing the Zmodo camera. I asked a friend what he was using and he sent me the link and I ordered it. I’ve had my camera for about 5 weeks now and love it. We use it as a dog cam. When we leave the house our dog barks. I get the alerts just fine. I can hear him and I can talk to him. The image looks great. I have no complaints at all. I even recommended it to a coworker. Reading some of the reviews I was thinking it’s probably the operator not the equipment.

Functions well, could use some improvements. App functions very well most of the time, I have very little complaints with getting the live feeds from all of my cameras. I am not a fan of the detection area for motion sensing though. Most other cameras I am able to select specific areas with little squares on the screen. This one only allows you to resize a big box. I have a big bush that my camera looks at and I can’t remove that from the detection area without also removing an area that I want motion to be detected. I wish I had the little squares or something better that I could select specific areas and not be limited to one big box.

Never real time, useless alerts. This is a complete waste of money. first off. the real-time surveillance is a myth. Most of the time, most of events are not even recorded, much less notified. And if they do, the recording is not there Second. This thing is freezing freezing freezing all day and night, in and out. You see someone approaching your house or at your doorstep, but the camera is not showing a thing. Or showing a glimpse of that then goes like that never happened Third. The replay is useless since there is no fast forward to search for anything. Just a bunch of bars that presumably show activities but nothing to show when you get to it. So you have to spend as much time as the real events to go thru them, I mean it literally, to search for something. That something will not be there despite a hello or whatever color bar that shows activities. Fourth. The cameras drop connections 6. Times out of 10 and you have to relaunch for connection. In the case of an urgent need to see who is approaching, don’t bother. You won’t see it. By the time the cameras reconnect, that visitor is already inside your house, or the event has already passed FINALLY Not worth the money spent. They have a lot of work to do. I got 2 sets of them but Im so sorry I did this to myself

You get what you pay for. The cameras are decently priced compared to the bigger name brands and they work well enough but it only records some motion not all of whatever happened so if you just need an idea of what’s going on it’s suitable if you need more detailed footage buy something better. I will for my next place

Worst experience for a $1000 installations!!!. 1. Motion alerts absolutely captures nothing! Two years I have these installed outside sounding my house it gives me pictures of something happen to my residence but whenever I have a visitor mailman’s here every day, snow season people remove my driver way snow, summer these people treat my grass and cut my grass however all these events these camera didn’t capture at all, what am I supposed to expect for the purpose of security what am I paying for??!!It gives me around 15-20 pics a day showing events with absolutely nothing but my yard view on the pics, once in a while it captures a blurry someone’s one leg or a corner of someone’s shoulder but mostly I captures nothing but just my yard views. 2. Four of these eight cameras stopped working after two years for no reason. 3. These devices are horrible connection with internet. I spent 200$ on those cameras and a 800$ to install them, I’m planning to look other companies to reinstall different brand cameras, someone have better experience or recommendations?

Decent cameras. I’ve had my Zmodo cameras for 3 years and I have a few things to say about them. 1. The cameras work well no matter the placement. Day, night, rain or shine. They are going to be working. 2. Number 1 is the only positive thing about them. 3. The application development is equivalent to drink hot dog water. Most of the time the the app is slow running and does not like to sync with my cameras. I truly have never been able to connect a camera on the first try. 4. When you get motion updates you get 5 seconds of capture if you don’t subscribe to the app and pay an extra few. So not only did I have to buy my cameras. I have to subscribe to your lame service that barely works just so I can have more than 5 seconds of recorded motion. Further more they only backup your recording for 7 days. So if you get robbed you better make sure you deal with your hotdog water app record trimming day one or you won’t have them.

Doesn’t work!!!!!!!. I am absolutely sick and tired of having to uninstall and reinstall the app, I am fed up with having to press the reset button on the back of my NVR because the system jams up and just freaking stops working. When I try to set everything back up after a fresh reset, the app automatically jumps to searching the LAN network for devices online, and I didn’t even select it! Why is the app searching for something that I did not select? After I select the Zmodo Netwerk to connect my phone the next part of this process is supposed to be that it joins my local Netwerk. Instead it just jams up and doesn’t join my local Netwerk. Then when I go back and try to search my local area network again, The app goes back to trying to search my local area network when I haven’t selected for it to even perform a search! Will you people please fix this crap?! Why do you continually put us people through all of this frustration over your crappy app? I have already uninstalled and reinstalled your app three times today, it will still only identify four of my eight cameras online, and I cannot get my other four cameras to identify on the system. Either fix this garbage or I’m going to buy a different system and I will forever put on the Internet how much of a piece of junk your system is.

The neighbors do a better job at watching the house. I’ve had a Zmodo camera for a few years now. At first it work wonderful; but now - the app won’t open unless I get a movement notification and click on that. Night vision is completely useless; so the camera serves absolutely NO purpose at night. During the day it shows black at white; it had colors before now that’s gone. I basically just have a camera for style.

Need speaker icon in full screen view. I’ve been using Zmodo for years. I would like to turn change cameras in full screen & listen while in full screen. I can turn on mic on mobile, but have to close full screen to go back and turn on speaker for each camera. Very time consuming. Would also be useful if I could change the order of the cameras

Please don’t waste your money. I installed 6 cameras in my house which never worked that great to begin with, but now they just don’t work at all. I don’t know if the company sold or what. But the service has gone from not-so-good to not-working-at-all. And yes, I have done the software updates. Some cameras have never been able to sync up to the proper time. Connection to the app has always been unstable at best. Now the app can’t connect to any of the cameras. I plan on throwing all of them in the trash and going with a new wired system, and you can bet I’ll be doing my research to make sure I never give this company another dime.

Because developers don’t care about iPad users. Because developers don’t care about iPad users I can’t even access live feed from my doorbell anymore. It just doesn’t show up! I thought it was bad enough that portrait mode is the only supported orientation, but lately the app has zero value on iPad due to the “live” button being MIA. It also alerts on a huge delay when it alerts at all. I’m talking minutes. People will gave walked up my walk, up my steps, across my porch and rang the bell before I get an alert, and it’s even longer (if at all) if the visitor doesn’t ring the bell. I left 3 stars because “live” still works on my phone (for now).

For the price and ease of installation, nice. Probably not the best on the market but we have used a variety of Zmodo cameras without a great deal of issues, our Internet is strong and reliable in both locations. It is true they do not catch everything but they are great to have for the price and help monitor elderly parent.

Cameras OK however company will spam you through their app. I’ve had these cameras for a couple years now and for the price I don’t have any real complaints. However I have a huge issue with the company sending me spam through the app (sales announcements, new products, marketing junk). The spam comes through the app using the same notification alert that you would get if motion is sensed on the camera so you immediately want to look and pay attention to it. I’m sure that’s what the intent was however as a consumer who paid for the product I should not have to be subjected to spam for a product I’ve already paid for. I brought this up with support and they said there’s no way to opt-out from this “feature”.

Don’t recommend. I tried the free trial and my cameras haven’t worked since… 3 months. I have called and texted to try and get assistance with tech support on 3 separate occasions. They were very very disrespectful and no help at all. (as I was trying to explain the cameras weren’t recording correctly and I sent a pic of the wrong time stamp … he proceeded rudely, “it recorded right there why would you tell me it didn’t”. Completely dismissing what I was showing him. Acted as if I was lying to him. The free trial did worked for live data ONLY…. But the clips were so short it missed everything. For example: someone pulled into my driveway (captured) by the time they got out of the car, to my door, and knocked, the camera had stopped recording. So unless I was available at that exact moment to view live… I have no idea who was at my home. Which bothered me. I tried the free trial. Now I cannot see ANY recorded clips. They won’t open or play. And anything not live is time stamped 3-4 hours behind. My boyfriend also tried to talk to tech support since he works in the IT world and it was no help.

Terrible App! No customer support!. I have two sets of cameras and none of them are useful with the app. The phone number you call never has the same people. I am still waiting on phone calls back. If you call close to quitting time you will be on hold and then when the office shuts down. It disconnects your phone call. Even if you’ve been on the phone for one hour. Avoid these cameras and their app at all cost. We went ahead and bought ring cameras.

Awesome. I totally bought this camera for outside after my car got broken into! I have since had to take it inside as my Mom is on hospice palliative care with my brother in the service and a sister in Colorado and a Brother who is out north we have all been able to access the camera and be able to share in Moms transition! So while I love the camera to begin with it means so much more that we can all share this Via the camera so Ty Katherine Wolff burns

SCAMMERS!. 2 times I was emailed with special holiday promotional pricing for their cloud service and both times my account was singled out and blocked from purchasing due to “some kind of error” that “hasn’t affected any other user.” I was forced to buy the service at the higher rate because nobody could be bothered to address my issue. When someone did address my email after a week they said they’d honor the 2nd emails promotional pricing but that I’d have to purchase it at the full rate and then email them for a refund for the difference.I asked for a refund for the services I already purchased at the higher rate and they refused saying that because I purchased through Apple and not their “web app” that “there’s nothing we can do.” Don’t trust these people they don’t care one bit about customers.

Always room for improvement …... Okay hole there is always room for improvement when it comes to technological advances, I will say that the ZModo apps, and camera systems are very efficient, extremely easy to install and definitely pretty easy on my pockets as opposed to other camera set ups. I love these things but I wish the cameras were able to oscillate or self rotate to span the entire area:) I do want to THANKYOU! I feel much safer now and feel that these cameras work very well both day and night (night vision equipped). Please continue your company’s great work thus keeping the safety of my family as well as others’ as your top priority V’s. The extremely large corporations that seem to be more geared towards making that cash:)

Not a bad camera but. The camera works as it should. The problem is mostly the app it lacks controls to move backward and forwards in small increments. That and when looking at an event it’s usually late to see all the motion. How about adding the ability to move back and forth in the video ten seconds at a time.

Over 6 year customer. The app not only keeps freezing, it has crashed my phone twice. The play back on the cameras is no longer a short video, it’s a single still photo that doesn’t even show what tripped the camera to begin with. I used to love these cameras but as time goes on I’ve had to replace 4 that just stopped working for no reason and I’m on a 5th that works when it feels like it. I think it’s time to finally say goodbye. These were good at one time but it feels like the people behind it all gave up on it. Sad really.

App is BROKEN. crashes my phone.. App is broken. If I try to view the stored recordings I PAY Zmodo to store they won’t download 90% of time and trying to download them makes the phone crash. This problem has been going on for months. Even when it’s not crashing about 25% of the time it won’t connect to video stream. The stored “video” is more like a jerky series of stills. Something’s in the photo you want to see in one frame and poof.. it’s long gone in the next.

Unreliable for home safety. Cameras frequently go offline requiring detachment, deleting devices, adding devices, and putting the cameras back up. We’ve tried resetting our modem, unplugging and plugging them back in. We’ve looked at our LAN up and down for potential conflicts. Nothing works and customer support is nonexistent. This ritual should not be standard practice for their customers and we’ve been going through this on a weekly basis since day one and we’re getting tired of it. When cams go offline, potentially critical footage is not captured to the cloud and it can be hours before we realize we’ve been offline. What am i paying $30 a month for? I live on a fixed income. Please fix the problem, make a reliable device, or get out of the business. At this time, I can not recommend this product. Save yourself the constant headache and stay away from this brand.

PIP??. Would be nice to have the PIP(picture in picture) option so I could be watching the camera live as well as doing something else on my iPad or phone. I dislike the 10 second skip deal that it does when you go back to watch if you aren’t watching live. That is not helpful at all when you are needing detailed info. A lot can happen in 10 seconds that can be missed on a recording. Please fix this, as we pay a lot for this service.

No complaints. We have used Zmodo cameras for 4 years. If we had in issue their support team was helpful friendly, and courteous. They walked us through every step. Their is a subscription service available to save recordings for sometime depending on the level. However I did not use this service until recently. They have always notified us when they detect motion. For a 100% D.I.Y. security system, I highly recommend Zmodo.

Minor bugs but aggravating... Every time I go and open the app, it never works the first time, I always have to close it and reopen it. And now I tried resetting the cameras to be linked to a new Wi-Fi network and cannot get them to connect and or stay connected so I shut down the app and restarted it, hoping it would work and nothing. It’ll probably take quite a while of troubleshooting and many opening and closing the apps to get it to work. Would be so much better just to work the first time, was that being said, when it does work, it is great! I would say about half of the time when I try and fix some thing I can’t get it fixed and it is quite annoying.

Does its job, most the time. Cameras inside and outside the home. Decent quality, very odd playback windows. 10 seconds of a 40 second activity. When constantly viewing live the feed will freeze until you touch the screen. Would give another star is there was an APPLE WATCH APP where you can view the footage.

Shouldn’t update. For every update they post, it made the app worst to use. The PLAY/Live button for watching live feed, is getting smaller and smarter, you can’t get 100% of the time to hit the right thing. there’s already a “Events” tab/button on the bottom of home page, there’s no need to add a listener to each line of device for “Event”. Implementing for UI design, making the button larger, the higher finger hit rate, you make the user easier to use. On notification, please have a option to let user enable/disable if they want to show snapshot on each notification event (like motion detection, etc.) on locked screen. In the previous revision, it’s just show title, which it’s already good enough.

this is the end!. with every new update something else goes wrong and video cloud Service does not record properly. it only works in stop motion so you don't ever see what you're looking for because it just jumps around on the timeline. now one of my cameras has quit working and it turns out it's the SD memory card causing it to disconnect. works without SD installed but as soon as you install it the camera disconnects. kind of forces you to use cloud which doesn't really work anyway. this company is a joke!

App broke after update iOS 15. I’ve been using this application for 10 years now. I’ve never had a problem until now. I updated the application after upgrading to iOS 15. Now when I open the app it takes me to a screen that tells me to go to the App Store. How am I supposed to monitor my cameras now? I have no live view only motion detections.

What’s happened?!!. I’ve owned two Zmodo Cameras since 2016. They worked great for years. Originally purchased as a baby monitor and they performed as expected actually better than expected. Skip ahead four years and what was an awesome application with affordable cameras is no longer. I’ve been beyond disappointed and frustrated this week. The application is no longer notifying me of sound or movements. My camera that was once used as a baby monitor turned into a nighttime seizure monitoring/notification system allowing for me to keep eyes and ears on my son who’s got Generalized Epilepsy. He’s been seizure free for almost 2 yrs and just started having breakthrough cluster seizures lasting over 10 mins. (Life threatening) Now I’m stuck with a pointless device that won’t notify me if he moves throughout the night, let alone have a seizure. These are hitting the trash and it’s time to find a reliable company that would never pull the wool over their loyal customers eyes by forcing a subscription in order for their device to truly function like it use to. Key words USE TO!!!

Playback Freezes. When using “playback” mode, the video freezes every few seconds...it’s truly annoying and it is NOT what I paid for! I’m very disheartened by the lack of support for the app/cameras... I will probably not renew my subscription at the end of the term, and buy UniFi products and re-install new cameras... It’s unfortunate that I need to do this, I had a lot of confidence in Zmodo, as it came highly recommended to me! But, I’m very disappointed with them at this point! Hope this helps someone make the right choice when purchasing their surveillance system...!

Great for the price. I’ve had my cameras around 5 years and they give me what i wanted out of a security camera I have 3 cameras and I see everything whenever I’m not at home so far great cameras along with my ring camera I see everything out of state or in California glad I got them thumbs up 👍🏾

Not Working Correctly. I’ve had this camera only about a month & a half and at my window as a bird cam. Lately, more & more I can hear & see birds on my windowsill eating the seeds I put out, and the camera is not recording them like they used to. Then about 5 minutes later it records a non movement scene so it has nothing to do with the wifi signal, the camera is just not working properly. Sometimes I put a pile of seeds out in the morning & I come home from work, the seeds are all gone, the camera picked up none of it…..disappointing.

Issues with connections when changing the WiFi. I have had this security camera system for almost 5 years and every time I have my internet provider send me new equipment, I have the most difficult time reconnecting my cameras. The most recent situation is using some precise location feature. I am not sure why zmodo needs to use my precise location. They are great when. It troubleshooting the cameras for like weeks.

5 ⭐️ for App features- Great Support, cloud Svc, etc. 5⭐️'s for all aspects- Don’t understand the bad ratings- never had a problem with the fixed Wide Angle units - VERY inexpensive Cams>moved many times, easy to reconfigure if you READ the instructions —- App is Constantly updated incl NEW features along with improvements, Cloud Service is very reasonable & reliable, nice images, esp like the 720P Cams due to lower bandwidth req's & better low light vision - Overall incredible Value for the money 💰- if you don’t like these go spend 3x the money & you might get better Cams\Features.... Just hope we’re not being monitored given it’s a Chinese Co.

Can’t open app. I am not able to go to my phone home screen and click on the Zmodo icon and have it open. The screen turns white and has the Zmodo logo but it just stays like that and doesn’t ever show me my Zmodo home page. So I can’t view my cameras! I’ve contacted customer service but no one has gotten back to me. I pay $9.99/month and want and need to view my cameras. Other than this current issue, the video quality is decent. More expensive brands have a better quality however I would rather pay for the Zmodo brand at a lower cost and get less quality picture. I can still see just fine. Just not as clear as the competition.

Update needed. Wouldn’t buy more. The app doesn’t load correctly half the time, but it never has a problem loading ads for their subscription. I used to pay for the subscription so I could view more than a few days of recordings, but that wasn’t worth it either. Doesn’t record or alert to motion much of the time either. Really not worth the trouble.

Notifications. There is no notification when a camera goes offline. There should be a setting to delay the notification in the event of a quick outage or something, but if the camera is offline more than 10 minutes, I'd like to know.

Time stamp is completely useless. The time stamp on all 4 of my cameras is different. Also, in the Playback of recorded video, the time stamp doesn’t match the scrubber. Those two items together, means that if I am looking for a particular time, I don’t know which time to look at, the scrubber time or the video time, or if either of the times are even right. Also during Playback, I’ve seen the timestamp embedded in the video jump ahead by 30 minutes. The video did not jump ahead, just the time. How hard could it possibly be to have all the cameras sync to a single correct time?

Great Cameras. I have 4 cameras and I love them! I get to monitor my animals when their outside to see what they are doing. I also can tell when my neighbors dogs come over. Live in the country and we been having a lot of burglaries and car thefts. Motion activation is a little sensitive bug I rather have it sensitive than not working when I need it to.

Detection area. I have purchased this camera before and it seemed to be good enough for the job. It has its flaws, rotating for no reason and getting stuck facing the wall, etc. but now, you cant even set a detection area so no alerts pop up and getting ahold of customer service is a joke. No one answers and it says to contact them thru email… if someone can find where THAT is ill be extremely grateful. What a waste of money and I have to pay for the subscription to even save the alerts and shocker, cant get alerts!! Super annoying

What happened!?. I bought four cameras about years ago, I was unaware at the time of purchase that you would be limited without a subscription service, but that's my error, and when I bought them I was more than happy with them without needing 24/7 recordings. I mainly wanted them for my animals and the motion detection was extremely accurate, and picked up everything. However for the past year and half the clips of motion capture, are now only 5 secs max. And will not pic up anymore motion til a long time as past! I'll leave food for my animals, but i can't see which one...in the daytime too. A car will pull in my driveway, and it will record for 5 seconds, and that will all the motion capture, it won't record them coming to the door, me coming to the door, or them leaving if I'm not available. Also my garage briefly caught fire while I was working, it caught me working here and there, but there was no capture of the fire, or my reaction at ALL! That's not fair, when I would get motion activation all the time. And now years later I have to pay for what was the normal free use. I really hope no one breaks in and kills me, because the only evidence would be 5 seconds of them reaching for the door 🤦‍♂️ I don't need your 24/7 coverage subscription, just the normal motion detection!

App always crashes.. Every time you guys update this app it gets worse and worse. They app just crashed on my like 7 time in the last 10-15 mins. How the hell can I watch my business is the freaking app keeps crashing? And when I switch camera the load time is way to long and I miss what I wanted to see. Can you guys fix this crappy app it take it back to like 9-12 months ago when the app never or hardly ever crashed. Or I’ll just go and buy a different security system that uses a much much better app. Your choice!

Update is horrible. Do you guys beta test your software before a new update? I pay for 4 cameras per month on the cloud service. When I receive a motion alert on my iPhone , I open the alert, takes me to the camera that alerted me, then just sits there, it will not play. I have to back out and then open the alerts again, then find the said alert to see whatever the alert was. It’s frustrating because i didn’t have any issues before this update. Also the playback is horrible, the zoom feature seams outdated and sluggish. Please do something Zmodo, I have 6 of your cams at my home .

Time stamp and alarm. For me the app works great. Some issues with making a clip and getting the time stamp to work. I would have given this a 5 star if there was an option so select an alarm of your choosing when a motion was detected. You only have the iPhone “pling” sound. Not something that will get your attention for sure. I’ve written them several times about this and never heard anything back. It’s either something they don’t care about or just can’t get working. Who knows!

Long time user. I bought my first camera a few years back and have been pleased with them ever since . I now have 8 cameras and have had very little problems with them . The regular updates and improvements are great . If the developers are reading this I don’t know if you are working on it or not but I would like to see a grid choice for multiple layouts . You have it set up so it will show a 4 grid but I would like to see the multiple (6) or up to 8 or even 10 . Thanks for a great product .

Perfect for live streaming. We use these cameras around our house for live streaming/monitoring our kids. Never subscribed to any services. It works perfectly for our needs. I’ve bought several more devices and might subscribe in the near future. Honestly, great devices for our current purpose. Will update my review if our opinion changes once we subscribe.

Had problems. Had problems buying my subscription and my cameras go on and off and I believe their hacked or they don’t work and weird images on them called many times and no looks into it. I should have tech look it or pi see for them self. Please Zmodo look at tech and see and I had one camera won’t turn on for months n I have cloud I pay for this service because it cheaper then others but a lot problems

Welcome Improvements. Since the transition to ios11 there are a few new bugs. However I’m gaining confidence your continuing to work on them. We can now view 4 cameras at a time woohoooo!!! I was thinking it was a hardware limitation and would never happen! It’s good to see improvements and bug fixes continue to filter through slowly. Keep up the good work!

Annoying!. The problem with these cameras is entirely software based - fix the app!! 1. App WILL eventually stop working, if it works in the first place. Restarting the app becomes a habit. 2. Also Bluetooth headphones are disabled??? Like the developer took the time to remove the feature?? Took me weeks to figure out what was wrong as their is no notification 3. Ridiculous crackling sound that could be fixed through software The rest is... alright Developer can’t be using their own software though.

You broke the app with the latest update. Do you test before you release? Every time I go to check a notification, use I have to login again 😡 I’ve logged in 4 times today! Selecting a mode manually doesn’t register, you have to do it 3 times. The live button and the playback buttons on the camera are too small, make them bigger please.

Hopelss. It used to be good but lately Motion alerts rarely playback correctly. When I choose a motion alert to view it goes to live view at the current time rather than the motion capture. If it does go to the motion capture it only plays for a few seconds. Think I might ditch this product, trash the camera and find something else. Fed up!

Broken. App is now broken. I had to install funlux to be able to see my system again. Really a little regression testing would go a long way.

Unusable after update. Can't switch between multiple cameras at all, new interface forgets user access needs to be simple and easy. So much easier when I could see all the cameras listed.

iPhone Dark mode problem!. Some parts of the app not working properly with dark mode.

Re unit. Would have to be the worst unit in security cameras on the market there after care service you do not get all they will do is promise to keep emailing you and I never get back to you with any of the problems so the unit will not run properly and all they care about are used to try keep getting money off you for subscribe for each camera cost you $400 total a year what a joke

It's better then the original app. 1. Why doesn't the store actually lead to a sales page, to buy the products? 2. Why can't I view choose to stream from the SD card? I've got plenty of data to use. 3. Can you implant a 3D Touch into the app icon to change modes? I hate having to go into the app to change if I'm home or not.

Really bad App. Please fix your App, nothing works, really defeats the purpose of having cameras when you can’t see anything live or even the alerts. Very disappointing

Broken night vision. New update brings cloud, but has broken night vision completely. Can't see anything in the dark anymore on all four cameras. Needs to be fixed ASAP!

Easy access!. I like the new update it made the app more faster and watching the camera over the phone is more accurate now compare to the old system! Amazing job zmodo!

It’s improved. The app has improved and updates seem regular. The cameras however often drop out and the system is not reliable as a real security product (I have 6 720p wifi cams). clearly you get what you pay for (cams used to be $85 but you can now get one for $35). It would be awesome if motion notifications on the Apple Watch could show a snapshot from the saved video snippet. That would save me having to open my phone, navigate through to the notifications and attempt to view the video (which often fails). I used another camera system before and that sent an email with a photo which on the watch was visible so that had the same effect as a notification. >>>>Amazing!! This has been added. Well done.

Wrecking it. Update is atrocious. Keep it simple. I can now only access one camera via the app when 3 are connected.

Good product poor support. This product works quite well. Unfortunately there’s no technical support. I’ve been struggling to get hold of them. Also I purchase the yearly cloud off on their 50% off Black Friday special but was charged full price

Rubbish. I have tried to get help but to no avail. Drops out all the time, goes offline. The wifi is about 4-5 meters away from the greet doorbell. I tried to give a small company a go. I won’t make that mistake again!

App. The app is terrible we pay to have cloud storage and half the time can’t access footage and the history/events page rarely opens or loads after you get a notification. Seriously considering looking at alternative camera systems

Crashing. App crashes when loading

Broken?. The latest update (even though you are now supposed to see 4 cameras) now appears to be broken; I could click on the individual cameras before and it worked fine but now does not work at all. I hope this is not a ploy to get you to sign up to cloud service!

Not happy. Can't scroll through all my cameras. Stuck with the one view. Please fix this asap

A couple of suggestions. I don’t know why there are so many 1 star reviews but I think this app is pretty good. I only have 2 suggestions for improvement: 1) be able to change the name and rearrange the order of the different modes. 2) (a feature I would absolutely love, 5 stars if implemented) the motion detected recordings record for the whole duration of the activity detected - 30 seconds seems to be the maximum the clips go for and sometimes the recordings don’t start straight away and ends before the movements stop.

Issues with update. Since updating the app this morning, I can no longer access the live camera. The connection continues to time out. However the previous version of the app is still connecting to the live camera on another smartphone. 31/8/2017 Still can't get live camera to work. The Zsight app works though.

Don’t plug your USB (wireless) camera onto the USB NVR cable.... ZMODO don’t comply with the USB standard, and the sPOE cables on their wired NVR systems carry 18volts... the USB standard is only 5V !! The result is a dead camera - which they won’t repair, as it’s an ‘operation error’, despite the error being in their design process. This is sad, because they have decent hardware at a great price point, let down by poor product management. The unfortunate thing is that if these weaknesses drag the whole company down (after they’ve taken your money), the Zmodo ‘cloud’ goes down as well - so your remote viewing, doorbell and playback will disappear along with them. Sigh.

Doesn't update!!. The zmodo app for iOS doesn't update. It gives a message to update to 2.2.16 and redirects to the App Store where the only option is to open the version you already have.

Bad experience. Hopeless, can’t give less than 1 star. Can’t see the picture although the camera is on. Tried to reset/ restart 1000 times but no use

On going cost just to view motion detection. I’ve been able to click on past events tab and view all motion detection and brief videos the camera has taken as I use it as a security cam. They now want me to pay to view it!!! I’m throwing the camera in the bin and buying a different brand. Such a shame.

Just crashes. App keeps on crashing after loading. Selecting any button from the main menu causes the app to crash. Please fix as this is the only way most people access their security footage.

Greet Pro Doorbell works well. The doorbell was an easy install and does everything expected. Could not connect the Beam WiFi extender no matter what I tried so sent it back and got a cheap WiFi extender instead which works fine. Suggest developers enlarge the button for ‘live play’ on the app so it can be more quickly found.

Great potential - but not there yet.... I purchased a zmodo pan and tilt security camera three weeks ago and I have spent a lot of time using both the camera and the app. First, It is imperative that you install a microsd card in this unit if you want full functionality of the video recording. I chose a 32gb card and this works great. The camera works well in both daylight and dark conditions although in "transitioning" between daylight and infared mode there is a loud click giving away the camera position. The app is poorly designed and very flakey. You are always searching for functionality because there is no one place you can go to find everything. The video stream page seems to be solid but the motion detection is hit and miss and this app needs work big time before you could rely on it for motion security. I do like the camera and I am hopeful that the next version of the app will fix the motion reliability issues. I'd love to see all functionality in one spot but I can live with the disarray now that I've spent so much time figuring out what is where. Bottom line: I'd buy it and hope zmodo fixes the app.

App sucks!!!. My camera is always offline and not working, and it just keeps loading and takes forever for the camera to appear!? Not happy whatsoever for the price I paid for this home security camera. When I need to check the cameras some will work and some won’t at times. This issue needs to be fixed ASAP!!!

Unable to finish this. After it finds the wifi and punching in the password it doesn’t let you finish till you scan a code that does not exist or there is two that wants to force you to like their page on fb or Twitter..... before you experienced anything , no help available for 12 hrs. . . . When it works it’s great. Mine goes off line for no reason all the time. I have never been able to figure out why and can take days to go back online. The only way to speed that up is to uninstall it and do a master reset and set it up again. When it’s works it’s great nice picture. Motion sensor works pretty far away but some days it picks me up pulling in the driveway other days it doesn’t too random in my opinion.

Terrible Update. Terrible update now my home security zmodo system can no longer be used with the app and I only bought it 6 months ago. As this is the official app you think more care would be taken.

Not bad but lacking some small things. The beam should be able to set for 1 second beeps if you want to be just notified if someone came in. Colour balance on cameras would be nice! My doorbell one is pink for some reason!

No Business ethics. Meshare app suggested to migrate to this one by an annoying pop-up. So finally I did and when I did it suggested a firmware update for my cam which I did. Then to my shock all meshare alert features are not free on this one and needs monthly subscription. I got angry deleted the device here and went back to meshare but the cam no longer works there..probably that firmware update This is not ethical at all

User friendly. The app is amazing, also the quality of the image the cameras provide is awesome, there is something I want the app could have, is try to implement in the playback space, an option that we can advance the video by 5,10,30 seconds like other apps can have.

Notifications. There is no notification when a camera goes offline. There should be a setting to delay the notification in the event of a quick outage or something, but if the camera is offline more than 10 minutes, I'd like to know.

For the price and ease of installation, nice. Probably not the best on the market but we have used a variety of Zmodo cameras without a great deal of issues, our Internet is strong and reliable in both locations. It is true they do not catch everything but they are great to have for the price and help monitor elderly parent.

Zmodo is great!. Having access to my recorded video makes me feel more secure and the fact that I can cancel my monthly renewal one day before being charged again is very convenient also. Thx, ZMODO!

Would remain a customer if the app was just a little better.. Countless times, I get an alert notification, click on the alert, and the app opens, but just hangs. Also app doesn’t stay logged. I am going to leave after 5 years and convert to Ring. It’s a shame because the cameras and subscription fee are pretty economical.

App not giving me an option to even open. why I can’t open app @ this moment is been disconnected for months now that i have plugged one back up the app is not opening at all for me to sign in it seems to be stuck.

Too many bugs. It does the job of recording but, stops recording even if there is still movement. Delete button for old recordings doesn’t work, fails all the time. I used to have color recordings, now they are black and white, checked all possible settings but there are very few settings, and some don’t work at all. I guess there is a lot of room for improvement

Recent Update. Since the recent update I am unable to view what has happened through the day. I can only watch live. Not sure what was wrong with the old version but this is not worth paying for if I can not review what I am paying for

Good value. App needs upgrade. Live playback icon too small for my shaking finger must be precise and cloud flashback could use speed control. Otherwise good system for the money.

Malfunction. I’ve never had this much trouble out of my cameras. They WILL NOT stay connected. Even after unplug them and plug them back up. I don’t know if there’s a new update but there needs to be. I’ve always loved these cameras but I’m regretting my decision. What’s the point for paying for something that’s not even working.

Always crashes. I don’t have a signup for the payment plan, I’m not sure what it’s for. I’m wondering if that’s why it crashes; if it’s a ploy to get payment? But every single time I click the notification, it loads 4 camera screens, gives me a ‘failure’ notice and crashes. It usually takes two loads to get the live view up properly. I have no idea why audio never works.

Great if it worked. I had to reset this over and over again. There were times it worked for a little while but ultimately it would say I have no internet connection. Tried to access it from multiple devices. Finally unplugged it and while slow (because I was further away), I had better luck not using it. Go with TP link instead.

Cameras ok, subscription cancellation a joke. Cameras have decent quality. Other than paying for the subscription to get accurate alerts and video play back. I ran into many issues when trying to do so. Or getting notified there’s a person when it was actually a animal or such. I personally wouldn’t recommend if wanting to use these for “security system”.

It’s not right you gotta subscribe each camera you get. They could come up with a way you can subscribe once for a flat fee no matter how many cameras you get because it’s sad you gotta pay a monthly fee for each and every camera you get of theirs

Latest version crashes every 2 or 3 minutes.. With the latest version, the app keeps crashing every 2 or 3 minutes, not only on one device but on all the devices I have the app installed. I have a dedicated iPad in my living room with the cameras open to see everything anytime and I can’t do that now because of this issue.

Gets worse and worse....and worse. I’ve always viewed on desktop and it freezes up after a minute so it’s basically worthless. Stopped trying to talk to their tech support because they have no answers. Now the app won’t update. I’ve tried many times and it will not update. Totally regret buying these

Worst app ever.. There is absolutely no security on the ports. If you like getting hacked by foreign IP addresses then this is the app for you! It almost appears as though they purposefully don’t fix this just so you can get hacked. Learn about what port scanning is and then you’ll think twice about using this app and this company. Go with a reputable us company atleast you’ll know who’s hacking you.

Frustrated and dissapointed. I have two of these devises installed in my elderly moms house to provide her with security in knowing i can see her at any time. But they keep crashing. Both of them. Soon as they are back up and running they crash again “off line”. We have had these for a few years. The more time goes by the worse the service gets. Im looking for something else to replace these. Im just too frustrated to have to keep dealing with this.

completely useless app. this app cannot setup the cameras. period. no method for adding cameras is working. no amount of resetting the cameras works. So because my wifi password has changed i can no longer connect any of the cameras to my app any longer. that makes them useless. i tried every possible method, and the camera doesnt connect. this stupid app even says i didnt enter the correct wifi password when i did. and yes it is a 2.4ghz network

It works fine. I don’t agree with all the negative reviews, you get what you pay for and these cameras are just fine.

A decent application considering the price.. I’ve had a few of the issues folks have described in their reviews. My biggest complaint is why the pan feature seems to not work in a consistent manner. Sometimes the pan will just rotate the camera almost 360 with one tap on the application, other times it works fine. About the application, make the live and playback buttons bigger with more physical separation between them. I have big fingers and hit the wrong buttons a lot.

App and camera not staying connected. We have had no issue for over 4-5 years and now the app and camera won’t stay connected but they’re is no update you all have pushed out to help in over 3 months please update the firmware and app so this so the camera will work again and stay online it’s rather ridiculous to pay for cloud services when the camera won’t stay online more than one day

Update needed. Wouldn’t buy more. The app doesn’t load correctly half the time, but it never has a problem loading ads for their subscription. I used to pay for the subscription so I could view more than a few days of recordings, but that wasn’t worth it either. Doesn’t record or alert to motion much of the time either. Really not worth the trouble.

Good at first. I’ve been very pleased since I purchased cameras 3 years ago. However the last few months they are constantly going offline for no reason. Power is good and WiFi is good. I’m afraid something will happen and I will need footage that my cameras will not capture. Getting tired of constantly plugging and unplugging.

What happened. It used to be pretty good now it’s just crappy with no support whether free or you pay for their subscription the cameras don’t record anything but cars. Someone came and was looking in my sons window for five minutes and I got the notification late and then it took 15 minutes to pull up the footage to see which way they went and by that time they were gone. Time for a change. Do not buy these cameras or their subscription. There’s no support and no accountability.

Constant recording not an option?. It appears that constant recording is Not an option, I have tried several attempts to get constant recording but haven’t had any luck. The cloud stored events are only bits and pieces with broken audio, not admissible in court…so, what’s the point? If they update it to allow consistent constant recording it might get more stars, but as it is now. It’s not really worth the trouble.

Absolutely terrible.. Had 5 Zmodo cameras for less then a week. Notifications don’t really work. Contacted two different customer service people via chat and was told “only sends notifications every 20 minutes when there’s motion” I walked around my house and had the cameras on high sensitivity turned on and only 1 out of 5 cameras picked me up while walking and standing right in the notifications area. Paid for the whole year cloud service and had it less then a week and the company would not refund. Absolutely pointless having cameras that don’t send constant notifications. Absolutely do not recommend.

Horrible app. Very frequently the app will log me out automatically when attempting to go back from viewing a notification. Notifications take WAY too long to actually connect to the camera, so if a home invader is on your property, you’ll probably find out the hard way before your cameras can help. Very disappointed.

Mediocre app. System works, but app is less than desirable on iOS. If you are in single camera landscape view, you cannot select HD. When in portrait mode, you can select HD, but when you turn the screen sideways it defaults the view back to the first camera and doesn’t show HD footage. They say the update fixes bugs, but at the cost of introducing brand new ones.

Affordable and works. Man for what they charge this is a baller set up. The main issue I had was connecting the cameras kinda frustrating but once you get past that they really are best bang for your buck $100 for 4 camera wireless is ridiculous. Fix the connection issue and I’ll give 5 stars

App broke after update iOS 15. I’ve been using this application for 10 years now. I’ve never had a problem until now. I updated the application after upgrading to iOS 15. Now when I open the app it takes me to a screen that tells me to go to the App Store. How am I supposed to monitor my cameras now? I have no live view only motion detections.

I have not purchased a plan but cheap and effective. I own a film studio and the cameras allow me to see what’s going on through out the day. I don’t have a subscription yet but very effective for just viewing. Clear, easy to install, and very efficient.

Getting worse. This app was great years ago, but is getting worse seemingly with every update. What is really annoying are the ads. Not only are they displayed in the app, but you'll receive push notifications as well. If you disable these notifications, you'll disable motion notifications as well.

WOW. I have purchased my cameras with no problems. But now I had one that doesn’t work any more since an update and I can’t reset camera. So I text for help from a tech 1 they couldn’t help so they had a tech 2 to call and walk me through it. So we are trying to reset. Tech 2 tells me I have to have a tech 7 to fix the problem but to do that they wanted me pay $200 for the tech 7 service. NOT HAPPENING

Play back. I pay five dollars a month and the playback always freezes no matter where I am. My Wi-Fi connection is great I have full bars and freezes. The volume takes almost a minute to connect before I can hear anything or sometimes not at all.

Not so sure. Lately I’ve had videos land in Events dated for October 2021, it’s May 2021. Also when I’ve added another camera, a couple of times, my account gets hit for all the cameras and then refunded all but for the addition. Really not happy about that.

Good. I had this cameras for almost 6 years. And they are super efficient, also I like the price for the yearly subscription. It’s not like the other companies that try to steal every penny out of you…

App is BROKEN. crashes my phone.. App is broken. If I try to view the stored recordings I PAY Zmodo to store they won’t download 90% of time and trying to download them makes the phone crash. This problem has been going on for months. Even when it’s not crashing about 25% of the time it won’t connect to video stream. The stored “video” is more like a jerky series of stills. Something’s in the photo you want to see in one frame and poof.. it’s long gone in the next.

Good. I’ve used these in my house and outside my yard and they work great no complaints and easy to install yourself no need to hire anyone for installation

Broken. If you just got a camera, I’d just return it now if you can. Unable to share access, it’s unsettling to have sent a link to share and the recipient never receives the link. Like then who got the invite?…. It’s near impossible to setup. Despite crisp live video, the way it records and saves footage is practically unusable. Interface isn’t user friendly.

What happened?. Their app has really gone down the tubes. I get ads all the time and the area to click and watch the live videos you have to hit it just right otherwise it goes to the event recording. This product used to be good but because of the annoying ads and minuscule click areas for live streams I’ll be switching to a different product.

ZMODO Doorbell Camera. This device is a lifesaver; you don’t have to be home to see who’s at your door, and I get all alerts going by my house….love it!

Outdoor cameras. I’ve been using these cameras (3) for the last 5 years and they are great. I have to replace once a while. But other than that I have no complaints.

It used to be good. With every new update it get worse and worse. I get a lot of “device lost video”. 2 of mu cameras are showing the same image. All your customers service can do is ask you to delete and re install the app. This product use to so so good and now it just feel like down hill. Is not that hard to keep it simple and if its not broken why fix in it? Test your updates for at least 90 days before sending them out for the love of God.

Issues since last update. Since the last update; I’ve been having connectivity issues. The “Establishing secured connection “ is a long process now. Sometimes even times out. I NEED the service I pay for monthly to WORK!! I need my camera feeding, please fix this!?!

Ok but night vision not the best. Was working ok now I get device offline can’t not get it to reconnect finally got to reconnect now the app won’t open if o get a notification. To view unless I reboot my phone by then whatever is gone been doing this last week may have updated app I don’t know

Cameras go offline ALL THE TIME. My cameras go offline more then they are online. It is so frustrating. I have had the cameras for over 2 years, 10 of them! I already cancelled the subscription to the cloud for them and I am about to go with different cameras all together. I am sick of support telling you to take them down and reconnect them. I should not have to do this. I should be able to trust the cameras while I’m away! I’m over it

Pleased Zmodo customer. I’ve been a Zmodo customer for about 6 years and I haven’t had any problems! The service even works with crappy internet connections! My family and I lived in the middle of nowhere and barely got cell reception but never had a problem with the cloud!

iPad version could be better. While it works fine on the iPhone 11 the iPad version leaves a lot to be desired. After the first couple uses it pretty much shuts down the ability to watch live feeds on any camera. Constantly have to reload the app.
