Extortion!. Not worth. It. I'm a print subscriber and do not believe that I should have to pay twice for the same issue. Many magazines that I subscribe to in print provide digital access. Field and Stream should be no different.

Review. This app would be cool if I could get to my magazines it says it downloads them but when I go to look at them it says that they ain't there

Great Content. Why do people think that you can get a magazine for free? The app is free, you need to pay for the magazine content. It's great content and it's well worth paying for it.

Must have connection. Bought the subscription, downloaded a couple of issues and figured out that you need an Internet connection to read the magazines that you already downloaded. I travel a lot and this was just what I was looking for... Except that I can't use it anywhere that doesn't have free wifi. Ridiculous!

Very bad app. I can’t restore the subscription

About time.... I took almost two years but they’ve finally updated the app and fixed a well known issue with access for print subscribers not being able to view issues. I had given up hope completely and uninstalled the app about a year ago. On a whim I decided to see if the app had been updated and much to my surprise it had. The app now has a menu from which print subscribers can actually use their F&S log in to access digital issues unlike before where attempting to “log in” only prompted you to change your password. When it works the app is my preferred way of reading F&S. When it’s reading time I almost always have my iPad handy but the same cannot be said of my print copy of the magazine. Reading the magazine on the app really is a pleasure with the HD images and the ability to zoom in and out without getting pixelated.

Downloading not working. I liked reading Field & Stream on-line. However, the October 2012 issue is stuck in downloading mode for 24 hours. Nothing will download the issue. All other apps are closed as advised. The internal app for communicating with customer support does not work either. Now I got to figure out how to terminate my automatic subscription renewal. Save your money and do not purchase.

Great but….Takeaway inappropriate add!. This app is great in the magazines are awesome but there's one problem with them. Some kids love these magazines and I am one of them, but they do have some bad and inappropriate ads in them. They need to take all the bad adds an inappropriate ads in them because my parents have to take all the bad and inappropriate ads out before I read it. That should not have to be done. because of these ads it does have to be done. I hope Field & Stream will turn their ads into good ones and take what I'm saying into consideration so kids can read it fresh from the mail.

Deceiving. When the app works, it's great. Too bad that was only for my first two issues, even though I purchased an annual subscription. I would recommend delaying purchase on this app until it's updated. This is ridiculous coming from my favorite sportsman's magazine.

Can’t access magazines. I’m a print + digital subscriber but the app is prompting me to purchase or subscribe to access the current issue. The last edition is from 2020. Where are the new magazines?

Pay twice for one mag! what a deal... sarcasm.... Yes, that's right, for a mere $4 you can read the magazine you ALREADY subscribe to, it's convenient to have it on my Ipad when I travel, but unless they make it free to subscribers, since I actually buy mine to support our school's fundraiser, I'm irritated. Most every one of my other mags is free to subscribers, really F&S ? I love your mags and site but this makes me want to cancel altogether.

Terrible technical issues. The in app library does not work, thus once you open one of the F&S magazines you can’t go back into the in-app library to open another month’s issue. You will have to delete the app then re download it if you want to open up a different months issue. I’m not sure how Apple is even allowing this app to be sold in the App Store with such a huge issue. I bought 5 months ($3.99 each) and can’t even open them up.

No longer worth it. After many years I cancelled my subs with almost 3 years left because the publisher wanted me to pay for a digital subs as well! Utter nonsense to pay twice for the same content when previously it was free. This business model will probably result in the demise of a pretty good mag.

The App is horrible.. I’m a long time field and stream subscriber and the app used to be pretty good. Now it doesn’t even recognize my subscription anymore. I’ve deleted the and reinstalled it and it still doesn’t recognize me even with my user ID number. Will be canceling my subscription.

Digital Edition. I am a print subscriber. I downloaded the app and tried multiple times to log in. After about an hour, I guess their servers synced and I was able to log in and view the current issue. If it takes a while to get the accounts synched, put that somewhere in the FAQ section. Otherwise, a good app.

Does this work on an iPhone?. Long time subscriber, very disappointed. This site is confusing and nose too provide good directions. Not going to recommend this app for an iPhone. Retyped my ID, password and data several times, still can't actually get to a digital copy. If you want people to continue to subscribe then FIX the interface and flow of this app.

Awesome. I subscribed, downloaded the latest version and read it cover to cover sitting in a ground blind.

Good but problems. Love being able to take my subscription everywhere. There is a problem with pages of the magazine don't like to load all the way sometimes. You download the issue so why the problems?

Digital issue won’t download to app. I have paid a subscription but still prompts for payment.. Not happy about this

Unable to access my digital subscription. App worked great for about 8 months then stopped giving me the option to download new issues, only giving me a choice between buying an issue or subscribing even though my subscription is still active. Tried restarting phone, logging off and back on, uninstalling and reinstalling app, etc. Emailed the provided support address with no reply. Going to permanently uninstall if issue is not resolved soon.

Unacceptable. I am a subscriber to the magazine, but it still costs to see the issues on my iPad. If you pay for the paper copy, you should be able to see the digital copy for free. Only use is you aren't a current subscriber.

Field and stream should be free for print subscribers. Why do print subscribers have to pay twice?

Nothing for Print Subscribers. I would have expected the ability for print subscribers to access their magazines, or transition print to iTunes subscription, but no such option exists. I am not paying higher prices, or two times just for iPad access. I will let my print expire now as well and stick with other magazines that provide better bang for the buck.

Where is my magazines?. So took a chance after reading the reviews and purchased a magazine but it didn't download, so I just thought it was because it was the newest issue and that's why it didn't download yet so I decided to download last month issue to see if that would work but same didn't download. This app was a waste, now I'm out of $8.00 I should of listened to the reviews

Worst subscription app. I’ve been a longtime digital subscriber to Field and Stream. I just canceled my subscription because the app will not load the newest edition. In fact, it has caused problems when trying to access the last three editions. Just keeps saying “error opening issue.” Checked my subscription, and it doesn’t end until January 2021. I’m going to miss Petzal after years of reading everything he writes, but the lousy app isn’t worth the headache.

Paper Copies. Great magazine but it would be much better if we could transfer our paper subscriptions to this digital version as well. I would love to be able to take my magazine on the go. Let's make that change. Thanks

Two month / 12 month subscription. I had the same experience as many others in that the 12 month subscription only lasts two months. Emailed the App support folks and was greeted with a generic email ( they did not read my email ). The second response was also unhelpful and I asked for a refund. I have not heard anything from them for a couple days. I would suggest avoiding this app until it is fixed. As for the app itself the magazine looks and works well. As mentioned earlier the content is quite sparse. What is there is good. The navigation screen is terribly laid out and you cannot get rid of the upper banner even with a 12 month subscription. Really odd choice since I cannot buy anymore. Also why offer the preview version when I already get the full version, just a waste of space and confusing design choice.

Field and stream is a store that I have always gone to for all of my hunting and shooting needs. I have always loved going in and enjoyed their fair priced items. I recently went to one of their stores and I could not buy a spring for my gun bc they completely sustained from selling anything that has to do with an ar-15 including parts. I am very sad to hear this therefore I will no longer be shopping at field and stream or dicks sporting goods. I am also canceling my subscriptions to their outdoor magazine.

Crash, wouldn’t let me read current issues even though I subscribed.. I had a subscription to field and stream for over 20 years, and loved every issue, and luckily for me I saved a bunch, because this app is absolute garbage. I had tried for over 6 months to be able to read new issues, but it would never let me, even though my subscription was active at the time. After contacting apple several times and field and stream through the email on the website, we narrowed it down to the app itself. After 6 months with no change in accessibility, I just ended up giving up and canceling, so for the first time in 20 years I have nothing to read. Whoever owns and runs this app for them is seriously lacking in maintenance. I’d love to subscribe again, IF they ever figure it out.

Download troubles. First copy downloaded just fine. Couldn't get the next issue to download. Got some tips and advice from customer support, but still did not work. Can't get any response from them now. Very frustrating !!!!!!!

Love to actually read it but it is alway Broken. Last six time I tried to open app it worked one and the closed unexpectedly

F&S nearly all ads now, plus this app charges too much!. I used to read F&S but now just get my info off the Internet for free. Besides, the online edition is mainly just ads anyway. It should be free considering the sparsity of articles.

Doesn’t a paid print subscription count for on-line access?. I’m a print copy subscriber, created a log in to this app using my account number as instructed. When I try to open the current on-line version of the magazine it prompts me to buy it or subscribe. I can’t find any other way to access it. Well I’m not paying for the on-line version when I already have a paid subscription to the print version. You can have this app and your on/line access!

Keeps telling me to subscribe. I have a valid subscription, and the app will not recognize it. I have restored multiple times and no luck. There’s no reason to subscribe to this magazine if you are not allowed to read it.

Terrible app. I have read this magazine for years and love it. I recently bought a few magazines on line so I could read at work, but cannot for the life of me figure out how to get back to the library once I open a magazine on my phone. What a terrible app. Please fix it so I can read the magazines I purchased. Thanks

Disappointed again!. I actually thought they had finally made available the digital version since I was a paid print subscriber (like other magazines I subscribe to). Not a chance this time either. This is only an app that baits you with a sampling of a few pages in hopes of getting you to buy the magazine - good marketing if you don't have any subscription but a bummer if you already paid for the print subscription. What's the big deal F&S?

What an improvement!. This new version of the Field & Stream app is a tremendous improvement over their old version. It is easy to read and navigate and the photographs look fantastic. The previous version had small type and were like PDF's of the print version -- but difficult to read on an iPad because of the small type. This version is a pleasure, the type is large and scrollable -- and very easy to read and follow.....plus there are extra videos and special features.

Can't modify account. When trying to login or modify password to be able to receive digital access, there is a blank screen when trying to manage or edit these settings. Seems like a simple bug to fix. I have enjoyed viewing the digital version through the app, this however keeps me from being able to get digital access. The iPad app has the same problem. Please correct soon!!

I don't get the complaints. Works fine for me.

Print subscriber doesn't equal digital subscriber. Many subscriptions that I carry offer the ability to view the purchased magazines through the app and maintain the print subscriptions simultaneously. Field & Stream does not. I have to pay another subscription fee to view the same articles online. Not good, not a happy hunter! I suggest they allow print subscribers to view the online version at no extra cost.

No library return. There is now way to return to the library anymore. In order to leave the issue I am reading and view a previous issue I have to delete then reinstall the app!

12 Month subscription last 2 months. My annual subscription only allowed me to download issues for the first 2 months (Jul and Aug). It charged me the full single issue price for Sept and the app is not recognizing my subscription despite it showing in the purchase history. I also do not received notifications when a new issue is available.

Download errors!!!!. After you purchase a subscription you would expect to be able to download and read at least one of the issues you just purchased! I bought an annual sub and 2 individual issues. I've tried everything from reboot to delete and reinstall the app. Nothing has worked! Very discouraging as I'm sure the mag is great but since others have voiced the same concern and they aren't answering with an update to fix the problem I'm irritated! This app is a POS. I've emailed the developer too. New update causes app to crash Every Time!

Disappointment. Very disappointed. Went a couple of months without looking at the magazine and found that I could not get the back Issues that I wanted to see. I could only get the current issue. This has been a frustrating app think I'm done with it!

Doesn’t work right. Have ensured I have subscribed via the App Store but the new issue will not add to my library, and just continues to prompt me to subscribe. Some older issues that do appear in my library also will not load.

Does not work. Paid for a year subscription and can not see any magazines. Reset many times. Customer support nonexistent.

No Access for Print Subscribers. I subscribe to the print edition of F&S, and I like the magazine a lot. However, I don't want to pay twice for the same content. Please add access for loyal print subscribers like other magazines have done.

The app that never gets fixed. This app doesn’t update. Lots of issues and Field and Stream customer support is not very helpful.

Digital app does not work!!!. Contacted field and stream customer service and they said it was an iTunes issue. Going through the app support on iTunes and they send you back to field and stream…worst customer service ever. They have no phone number listed for support….they’ve lost my business!

Could do better. Each year when my subscription renews I go through weeks of grief trying to unblocked…..though this would be fixed by now.

Lol look at the previews. LoL the preview magazine's perfectly mirror the real editions.... 70% advertisements... That is so crazy cause we even have to pay for the magazine's.

Not good. Update erased my subscription, not a big deal because it never loads anyways. Love this magazine but they need help with the app.

Plain PDF reader. What a disappointing app!! They converted the magazine into a PDF, and thats it. I feel completely ripped off. 1) No rotation - stuck in portrait orientation, unable to see 2pg pictures at once. 2) Links in articles dont work! How ridiculous is that! Its just text. LOL. I couldn't believe it. Why make a digital copy at all? 3) No videos, interactive menus or anything that make a digital mag great. F&S you screwed the pooch on this one. Go take a look at Backpacker and learn how to make a digital magazine. As america's oldest hunting and fishing magazine, you sure arent progressing with the times.

Can’t access Field and Stream subscription. Paid 11.99 for one year subscription to Field and Stream and I can’t access from the app down loaded from apple store Apple says there is nothing they can do and I have to contact the app developer which I have done I’m not happy and will update once the developer contacts me

Bad update. Said it updated for iPhone 5 now it's just all compressed and super wide so I can't scroll or use anything

Not consistent. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn"t. Sometimes Outdoor Life works sometimes it doesn"t. They are happy to take your money.

POS. App is a total POS! Crashes constantly. What a hassle.

App stopped working after update. After most recent update app no longer works. No way to restore purchases.

Crappy update. Uh, this update didn't do anything for the iPhone 5!

Please Fix. You can not view any past editions with anything 7+, therefore, it seems like they are not willing to update, so don’t spend your money buying the online version.

It's a trap. This is my first iPad and thought the free meant free, well it's not.

Now don't have to barber shop. This a great issue. Downloaded and curled up and read all the way thru on cold winters afternoon. Took wife out to eat, and she read part of issue.Makes a good thing more convenient. Kudos

Can’t access new magazines. I am a print subscriber with the current subscription. But time after time I cannot download the most recent issue from the app. It will only allow me to see the preview without paying just shy of four dollars to see the rest which is about 25 percent of the one year subscription price (that I already paid).

Glitchy, cannot access account info or reset. What else can I say? Cannot reset my account or access my back issues.

Poor Form. Whats the deal, I pay for a paper subscription and I have to pay again for the same issues to download, come on field and stream, get with it and allow your paper subscribers to download for free like NUMEROUS other magazines.

Print Subscriber. Come on F&S? Why can't I download the digital version, just like I do with SI? Not paying for the same magazine twice. Get a clue.

Not included with print subscription!!. Sorry, but this magazine isn't good enough to warrant paying for both print and digital. Should be included with current print subscription.
