Best free baby name app I've found so far!. I've downloaded a half-dozen apps like this and most are just plain poorly done. This one is really nice, and seems to have far more names and far better info than the others. It's polished, well organized and relatively easy to search and browse. I will still look at some other apps but this one has me ready to upgrade to the premium version for the extra features!

Helpful. We are having some trouble narrowing a name down for our baby but this app is helping. I like that the popularity records go all the way back to the 1800s. A few of the names I've searched for weren't in the app, but being able to add in names I know from other sources makes this a great way to organize the options we like all in one place. Navigating the app is easy enough. The search engine is great; there are several ways of searching for names. I also like that I don't have to be connected to the Internet or be signed in for anything to use it. Overall a perfectly serviceable app for the task.

Lots of information. This app is like a Google search for a name. It gives a lot of information. The part I found valuable was the various spellings. The downside is it doesn't tell you which version is original and which version the spelling was changed as it was translated to a different language. For instance, if you were looking an original bible name first written in Hebrew, you may pick a version spelled as it was in Greek not Hebrew as it was translate from Hebrew to Latin to Greek to English. Be careful. I have known a few people who say & think they have a name of a certain history and it turns out it is misspelled if that's history they were going for.

Fun app easy to use. I don't really get what the ratings numbers mean but it's a fun way to keep track of names you are considering & look up what they mean.

Love this app. I love this app, and have been using it for years, just to look up names I like for future kids. I love the new update.

Forced Review. I can't really give an honest or complete review of this product because certain features that are important to me are locked until I give a review. Take these reviews with a grain of salt & I'll update my review after I've actually had a chance to use it. UPDATE: I've had some time to use this app & I bumped the rating from 3 to 4 stars. I like the ease of use and particularly the ability to add/remove names from a variety of specific origins. Other programs allowed me to browse names from one origin or all origins, but not narrow results down to all origins I'm interested in at once. I also like having the ability to add names that aren't in their database. What I don't like: I've found a number of obviously misspelled names, like "Hsmilton" and "Ga!l". It makes me wonder how many of the more unusual names are also misspelled that just aren't as obvious. Also, after I use the program for a half-hour or so it starts throwing up a blank screen. It becomes more and more frequent until this blank screen is popping up every 10-20 seconds, making the program useless. I have to power my phone off to get it to stop. Hopefully this will be addressed quickly.

Deleted all my saved names!. Thanks for saving years worth of my favorite names.... NOT !!!!

Better then most. Like others I haven't fully used this app and I'm giving this rating to access the rest of the features. That being said, this baby name app is better then others I've tried. It has several features that I really like. I like that it tells me the meanings of the names. I also like that I can save a list of my favorites and rate them and whatnot. The only thing I wish it had was more of a name idea generator. But honestly I haven't found a baby name app that does that. I am secretly hoping that the 'Genie' function that we get for rating this app will possibly be something like this.

Change in Favorites Page. One of my favorite things about this app was that when looking at all my favorites I could choose if they were sorted alphabetically, by ranking, etc. they have now removed that feature which seems like the opposite of an upgrade to me...

Lost years of stored names. I downloaded this app when I got married 5 years ago. I had spent so much time saving unique or diligently searched family names and the app lost them all. When I reached out to the team they said nothing could be done. Hopefully they’ve made changes but I now screen shot my names because I can’t really trust the app. Be aware.

Great idea!. I'm not a mother, but I enjoy thinking of names and naming characters in the stories I write names I found. I was excited to see my name and I learned a bit about the meanings!

Love this app. I love this app! It's feature to add your own names to your list is great and it had a wide range of diverse names . Not only does it give the origins and meanings but it also gives you every origin of each name so if it originated in several places it shows you what the name means from those regions. My favorite part of this app is the map while I'm in origins searching for names all I have to do is turn my phone sideways and a map pops up with the origins tagged on it accordingly . I rate this a four star only because like anything else I find a few errors in the map like Phoenician names are tagged in the map in Phoenix Arizona rotfl! It's actually a collection of city states at the eastern end of the Mediterranean, in what is now known as modern day lebanon. So other than a couple of small errors it's a wonderful app!

Good app with obnoxious ads.. Best UI and most names available. A previous version allowed sorting and searching using the Top 1000, but that functionality has been removed since the last time I used this app over 2 years ago. It also now has the most obnoxious ads. Change a rating on a name. Popup Ad. Change another name. Pop up ad. Might stop using this app it's that bad, and I like the app. I'd also like to be able to set better search parameters. Not in top 50, but in the top 1000 for example.

Handy for on-the-go. If you're like me and you hear or read a name somewhere that you like, but don't have a place to write it down, then I recommend this app! I love having it right at my finger tips so that I can search and save a name as soon as I hear it or if one pops into my head. I like having a "favorites" list, divided by gender, too. Helpful for when I find out the sex of my babies so that I don't have to wade through a long list.

Best free baby names app I've found. I've installed several free baby names apps, and most are crippled - won't give you meanings or won't let you save a list. This app does both, and has a good selection of names. Maybe if I pay for one of the others, it would beat this one, but for free, this is my favorite!! Thanks for the helpful app! Suggestion - I'd love the ability to have ratings within my favorites, so that my current top choices are easily found, without taking all the others off my favorites list.

Forces review. I want to use the "genie" feature of the app, and the app won't let me until I have reviewed it. You'd think the app developers would know we would all complain about this and it would drop the otherwise high rating it would likely receive, but that's what they've decided to do. This is the only baby name app I have tried, but I think I might go to the library or a bookstore for name help, as a book I saw yesterday looked much more organized for those of us who are struggling to find a name. As someone else said, you can't view related names, for example. I do like that baby name popularity by year is easily viewable. I'm avoiding trendy names from the recent past.

Could be better. This is nicely designed, but it's not very user friendly. And you can only look at lists of popular names for the previous years, you can't browse a list of alphabetical names or names containing certain syllables or starting with a certain letter. And to all the people complaining about notifications...really? There is a nice little "off" button provided in the app, not to mention you can turn off notifications in your phone settings. No need to rage over it...

Deleted data. Zero stars would be more appropriate. After weeks of creating a list and narrowing it down to top choices, everything on the app was wiped except for one name we had removed early off the list. No reply from the company on if there are any ways to recoup the info. Save time and just go with an app that actually saves the data.

Genie. Good app to search for names

Best out of three. I tried two other free apps and this is by far the most useful. You can search many different ways including by origin of the name. It gives you origins and definitions of the names, with many variants, all features that are not free in other apps. I left one star out because it does crash a bit and because Assyrian and Phenician names originates from North America according to the map!! Come on, guys, the map feature is interesting but it's not difficult to make it right!

Great app. This is a great baby name app. There are tons of names listed including their origins and meanings. It's also easy to sort by a variety of filters. It's a lot of fun if you want a lot of names to choose from. You can't also rate the names you like on a scale of 1 - 5 which is really helpful. I wish that I could select what gender I want to use the unisex names for. That was when I look at a list of boys or girls names I like, there aren't a bunch of unisex names in the list I don't want. Also, some of the phonetic spellings of names are either wrong or don't exist. This is very frustrating when reading names you are unfamiliar with.

Names. Okay app, wish there were more lists.

Pretty good place to start. I'm a good ways away from having a baby or trying to have one, but I love using this app to keep track of names that my fiancé and I like as well as discover new ones. I especially like being able to see the different meanings, variant spellings, and popularity from now to even the 1800s for some! I think comparing this to some baby name sites I've visited, there are ways this app could grow in comprehensive usefulness - like soliciting & providing people's reviews of their own names, or having the option to search for number of syllables or "ends with", also some of the categories seem a bit pointless/not well maintained (I was excited to check out the Literary names, for example, but that ended up being comprised of like 5 variations on Jessica and nothing else). For recreational/light use, this is pretty much all you need. However, I think if I was pregnant I would want something a bit more robust.

Good but..... It doesn't let you save your place for example, if you are in the middle of searching through the A's and you close the app when you go back in you have to scroll all the way to where you left off so you need to remember where that was. It does give you a lot of options to search from such as biblical and differed nationalities and let's you save and rate your favorite names. If it let you bookmark where you left off I'd give it a 5.

Correct misspelled names please!. Please correct the spellings of the international names! That’s unbelievable... for instance Aberto doesn’t exist it’s spelled Alberto with the L!

Lost my collection twice. Love all of the features, but twice now over the past six years my entire collection has inexplicably been erased. I can’t trust this to be my database to collect names I love.

Good. Better database than most naming apps

Good app aside from.... Good app over all. However, I wish there was an option for middle names. In my situation I'm looking for first names that would go good with Lou. I wish this app had that option because I really do enjoy this app! Unfortunately I will have to look elsewhere to figure it out. Also, I wish it told us more information about the names. Such as pronunciation (actually hearing it), and there's a couple other things. But everything else is quite nice!

Great. Like search option

Good!. I am enjoying this app. I am a writer, but can never come up with names for my characters. This app solved my problems! Just type in a letter or two, girl or boy, and the meaning that you want and then you get the perfect name. The only thing that would be better is if the search would not change the letters. Sometimes I will type in l,n and search and it would show me results for n,n. this is the only thing that really bugs me about the app. I reccomend this app and hope that you enjoy it!

Redirected every 30 seconds. This app was great for the first 5 minutes. After that, as I was scrolling through A names (never was able to get any farther than that), I was constantly being redirected to the App Store to some random game to download. I did not click on any adds or any pop up. I simply scrolled through the names and after about 5 redirects in 2 minutes, I deleted the app. There are plenty of websites and apps I can browse baby names for free that do not have constant pop ups or that do not redirect me to games in the App Store. Very disappointed, it was a good app until that started to happen.

Quick & Dirty. The app is OK to brainstorm names, and it is free. The interface is weird (e.g. going to the search *section* doesn't display anything until you touch a search *button*) but you get used it to it. But the advertising is ridiculously over-the top. Rotating frequently and appearing *just* next to the buttons so that a careless tap will invoke an ad. Honestly, you eventually tune it out, which can't serve the advertisers very well, so "less" would be better for all parties. Another concern is misspellings of some names: for example, "Vsndyke" for "Vandyke". That's an obvious one, but it lowers my confidence if I were to choose a name that were more subtly misspelled: would I accidentally name my son something profane by substituting the wrong vowel? So, while decent for exploring and brainstorming, if you want to actually PICK a name, you should at least check it (extensively) elsewhere after trying this app.

Well organized and Easy to use. I hardly write reviews, but this one was awesome. Most apps have names categorized by alphabet and maybe origin, but this one takes it to another level. Even gives you popularity ratings in case you want something everyone likes or something different. A huge list of culture origins too.

Simplest name app. Just what I was looking for! Likes: Clean and simple with a lot of names. Can view by popularity, origin, or through search engine. Names include meanings and which origin those meanings are from. Also can create favorites list and rate names. Favorites list has "Sort" function and "My Names" list for custom names. Also has a "History" menu of recent names youve looked at. Has a daily notification option to give you a random name suggestion at a specified time of day. Dislikes: No option to view complete list of names A-Z. Sometimes crashes when scrolling thru long search list of names. Suggestions: All menus should have a sort/filter function. "Genie", randomized names, and name suggestion should be based on favorited names so they are more likely to be names you will like. Overall simplest name app I have used!

This app is a poopy floopy. This app couldn't name my Cheeto much less guess my baby's name. Sarah is very disappointed with your dumb face. So this smells like a used diaper😡

Much improvement but a good app. The first star was taken off because it keeps on crashing. The second star because the ads were annoying and interfered with my enjoyment of the product. It kept on freezing when I'd come back to it after exiting. It would be more user friendly to have male/female separation buttons within the origins file. Great app, lots of information, but freezes too much and too many ads.

Helpful app!. Great place to quickly search names

Helped name my daughter!. After using at least 10 other name apps and searching far and wide for an easy to use name app with a decent size name database we discovered BabyNames and the rest is history. After months of research we finally decided on a name for our daughter solely based on the descriptions and encyclopedia of names from BabyNames.

Mostly Perfect. I use this app quite often to assist me when I name characters and have only encountered one bug recently. When I'm using this app, a notification pops up that asks me to confirm a link to a website, and no matter what I select, confirm or cancel, it reappears a minute or so later. Other than that, it's very, very helpful, and I would recommend it to anyone, writer or parent. Hopefully this bug will be fixed soon. :)

Great baby name app - endless names. This is a useful app for sifting through baby names! Love the heart rating system and that those you rate are saved to favorites automatically. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because the search function could be improved. Maybe it could memorize searches. I search individual names to see the ranking and meaning but then I've lost all of my settings in my previous search. Otherwise it's great!

Will no longer work on older iPad. It's a good app to look for name and works on my iPhone 6, but no longer works on my iPad 3 which is what I have used in the past. It's a shame an app updates so much it locks out a long time user.

Great list of names. This app is probably the best one out there as far as having the most names. The problem I had was that there are so many names it's becomes an overload. Currently the search algorithm hinges around popularity and origin. Origin search was helpful but with so many names you just need something else and I could care less about how popular a name is in picking my favorites. The app just needs a better way of sorting and searching names. It also needs a better way of marking favorites. Currently it revolves around a star system which is not necessarily helpful when you have so many names. I would prefer a yes/no system initially and then a separate ranking that would allow me to rank the names in the list once I pick all my favorites.

More Extensive Database!. There are sooo many features to this app: ways to search names by origin and meaning, random name creator, similar name suggestions, and even popularity of name in recent history!!! My only complaint is that some names I really like are not even on it. And there is not a way to add your own in to save it from what I can see. But, it’s a fun app!

Totally Coolio. I'm not going to have a kid ANY time soon but I like to look into the future! Anyway this app is sooo beat! I LOVE IT! The only thing is I cant pronounce any of the names that I like and if I pronounce them wrong then it probably wit mean the same thing. I also cant search the names I already like because they are already in the app but i cant add then to favorites because I would have to find them. Tip: it would be totally helpful and cool if there would be a pronunciator in the app! Find a way to include it and do an upload. Would be so much more helpful.

Warning doesn’t save your favorite names!. This is the fifth and final time this app has deleted my favorites! I’ll find a different app that will save my names!

Update and lose everything. Every time there is an update I lose any names I’ve favorited or saved. I shouldn’t have to pay for this to not be the case. Sure the different search functions are nice but not if I have to re-search again and again.

Easy to use. App seems easy to use and has a fairly comprehensive list of names. Shame you have to rate before you can use genie feature would be good to try that out first.

Lost all my favorites. This was a great app until I upgraded to the latest iPhone and it deleted all my favorites! Had no issues going from iPhone 3 to iPhone 4 but apparently the same can't be said for iPhone 5. Very disappointing!!!!

Great app, lots of names of various origins. Great app. Doesn't just have a list of the most popular names in the US or U.K like some apps. Heaps more to choose from and some other cool features.

888 baby names. I like it but it will be better if there were more rare names like Japanese names by the way I'm not Japanese (just saying)

Constant Crashes on iOS 8. I usually love this app because I like looking up meanings of names, however it constantly crashes with iOS 8. You can't even open it right now, it just crashes immediately. Other times it crashes when you go to search something. Hope you manage to fix it soon. Using on an iPad Air running iOS 8.

Awful. Pretty much can't do anything with this app. Freezes all the time and won't let you do much unless you pay which is stupid because you can get all the paid for stuff off the Internet for free

Too intricate with too many steps too selection. Having to click on a name before selecting it as one you like is too fiddly. It needs a one step selection function where you swipe to see the next name for selection or rejection.

Ok. It's good so far apart from some names are not on there. My sons name is not listed and it isn't very rare. I was forced to rate to use the genie feature whereas I would have liked to use it first :)

Unusable. Downloaded this app & deleted after 3 minutes of trying to use it. Continually freezing, crashing & constant pop up ads that you can't get rid of. Hopefully will improve with an update as it needs to!

Decent app - needs fixing. The app is decent and has a good selection of names but the ads can be intrusive and the program crashes...often. I like that you can save & rank your favourites but the interface could be more interactive. For example: similar names and origins should link to each other and names with similar meanings should be linked.

Decent app, but ads are taking over.. This is a good app. Has a large diverse database and is useful for storing all your favorite names on the fly for review later. However, as of last week the pop up ads don't close, causing the app to have to be restarted every few min. So annoying. Please fix.

Anything you want, just name it!. An incredible variety with both unique and unheard of choices and old, familiar favorite shone in a new light. Providing both the origin, variations, sex and meanings of some of the most eloquent and unusual names through history! Easy access and very convenient.

Don't bother if it's not paid. I understand advertising in free apps, you have to make revenue somewhere. However, when it redirects me to the App Store so fast it freezes my phone, I get angry. It would redirect, I'd go back to the app, and AS SOON as I got back it redirected me again. It was so fast that I couldn't even navigate the app. It was literally two seconds before it rerouted. And it didn't just do it a couple times, I tried to wrestle it for five minutes before my phone froze so I lost my patience and flipped out. I don't write reviews, but that's ridiculous.

Very thorough. Excellent for viewing names by category/origin and includes many African, African-American, American English and other origins not often included in baby name books. Name genders reflect actual usage rather than origins, which is cool. However, some options have to be unlocked and you may find yourself browsing lists of things for hours.

Better than the other apps. This app is better than the other apps because it doesn't stop working and prompt you to purchase it like the other ones do. Really appreciate that!

Ok, not great. I wish it there were more search options-number of syllables, no names that start/end with a certain letter. I wish you could seat by other categories than just nationality....traditional/earthy/unisex etc. I wish it would make better recommendations if you like a certain name. I wish it would more easily let you add a name that it does not know.

Fun to use. Really like this app. Fun to search for baby names and I appreciate all the various origins that you can sort by. Only wish they would tell you similar names and their popularity when you look at one. Easy to think a name is unique and find out it only has a slight spelling deviation from another name on the top 10 list.

Great but.... this is a really great game w/ thousands of baby names. i never thought in a million years that i would find my name, but i did! and it was really fun to find the origin and all that. yes, its a great app, but it crashes...alot. i also do not appreciate that some features are hidden in the premium version...which costs money. please fix.

Good app - lists need more proofreading. Overall an ok app. The lists need some proofreading - found some names with obvious grammatical errors - like "Sty]es", and others they probably didn't mean to be in there - like "unknown" and "unnamed"(assume they cut and paste that from birth records where the child hasn't yet been named). A few hours of quality control would make this app better. It certainly would be helpful for those of us who are scouring the lists for the perfect name.........

Fun and easy. This app is fun and easy to use which is exactly what I want when we are searching endlessly for names we like and can agree on. I love that you can search by the letter you would like the name to start with as well as meaning. We are selecting names based on a pattern and this makes it very easy to do so.

Was useful...now unusable due to constant redirects to other apps. No matter what I click on it redirects non stop to other apps that it's advertising for. I think it's a bug but it makes it utterly unusable and feels really spammy. Please fix it Seriously I even went to try to purchase the pro version thinking it would stop the redirects, but as I tried to enter my password to purchase it I got redirected to some car app.

It's alright. It's nice because there is a large selection of names to choose from and the fact that it has all the origins and definitions of the names also. But it gets pretty frustrating when you're looking at names and then it keeps taking you to the App Store to download some advertised app even when you didn't touch on the advertisement.

Great Tool for Writers and Researchers. As a novelist, I'm always looking for ancient names to use for characters and locations. This baby name app turned out to be a surprising resource! Especially love the ability to see all names from a particular region/origin (i.e. All Anglo Saxon names). Inclusion of Wikipedia entries is an inspired addition.

Extensive list. Great app for finding a name for a boy or girl. The list is quite extensive and might be a little much at times. Luckily, they make sort and search very easy. I like the popularity graph so I can quickly tell how likely it is for my child to have the same name as their peers.

Ok. This app could use some more...umph!. Perhaps a list of recommendations based on favorites or what you've looked at. It would also be nice to search specific names and with that search have "if you like this name, you may enjoy these similar names" (or something to that effect) which would list names similar in meaning or sound, etc..

Good features, poor execution. One of the few apps that lets you rate and sync names between phones so that my wife and I can keep a running list of our favorites. Now the bad parts. Advertising. I am constantly redirected from the app to the App Store in hopes I buy something. I don't even have to click something to make it happen, it does it on its own. I also got asked 3 times in 30 min to rate the app, that is a big pet peeve of mine and research shows doesn't help ratings at all, just annoys your users

Searching. I can see now how this app has so many more ratings than the others available... You must rate the app to unlock some of the functions. This far, I am pleased with the app itself. I have found the names I have so far and created a list for safe keeping.

Simple. Easy. And filled with names :). I found the app to be very simple and easy to use with an extensive list of names. The best part is the filter capability and managing the favorite list. I tried more than a dozen apps and nothing is close to this one.

Good for Just Plain Curiosity. If you're looking up a name meaning or something just because you're curious, this app is good for that. There are some features that I don't quite understand, but overall it's an easy-to-use app that provides you with the information you're looking for.

2 additions please?. My wife and I love this app for searching names, rating them, and narrowing down names for the baby. We would love some notes added onto the names of compatible sibling names though. A book by the same name as this app gives us that and it is a nice consideration. I would love a name blender. Something to mix 2-3 names we can't narrow down and help us create a unique blended name. Maybe another app?

Fantastic!. I'm a writer and I always struggle with coming up with unique names for my characters. This app is great because it has a very wide yet organized variety of beautiful names from all over the world. I can also recommend it for someone actually tying to come up with a name for a child because it even has the meanings of the names too.

Awesome. It's super awesome. I took off one star because it limited how many searches I could do, & I hadn't realized that until I used them up. Then it went immediately to the genie but maybe that's to help people who are indecisive. I like being able to search as much as I like. Overall this app is really impressive & has been very helpful.

Opens App Store w/o permission. This app had been working really well for me for several months but now it's horrible. Every time I try to use it, it acts as though I'm tapping on the ads when I'm not. Every ad redirects you to the App Store and freezes the app. Every time you try to go back to the app it just reopens the App Store. Over and over and over. Restarting the app doesn't help. Y'all need an update stat. Unusable until this bug is fixed.

Okay. I put 4 stars because the app is really useful for helping me find character names for my stories. But I don't like how the some of the more unusual names are misspelled to the point where I can't tell what it's supposed to be. Also, the app doesn't want to work if you use it for more than like a half hour.

Tacky ads!. This app is ridiculous! Many of the names have spelling mistakes, as other users have noted, and it keeps pushing ads over and over. Some of the ads are extremely inappropriate, saying things like "found sexually explicit photos of your contacts online". Unless you review the app, it won't let you save a list of favorites. I immediately deleted it and I would much rather search the names online without being forced to review something that is crap

Great app!. I LOVE that you can include, or exclude, multiple nationalities when browsing names. I always hated on other apps or sites having to browse through all the French names, and then the English names, etc, but with the site you can select the 5 you like and view all the names at once! A small detail, but huge plus for me!

Another forced review. Odd that they make you review to open features, but I'm here doing it so I guess it worked. So far I have been pleased. I like the large selection of names and seems to have more data (2012) than other apps. Also the graph is a great feature. All in all, I was recommended this app from a friend and am glad they did!

Good, not perfect. This is a good baby name app, but there could be more name search features, such as syllable count. It also only gives the top 100 for popular baby names, but many people intentionally want to avoid the top 100. I like that there are a lot of international names and lists, and random and genie features, but there needs to be more fun and unique features to make this a five star baby name app.

cool app. I got this app to see the meanings and popularity of names of the people around me. it's a really good app and I would recommend it to anyone. also note that although it is a good app, the only reason I am physically writing a review is so I can unlock a feature within the app.

Good Baby Name App. I'm glad I found this app. I have tried a few other baby name apps and this is by far the easiest to navigate. I love how the search menu is set up. I have found a lot of useful information. I also like the feature where you can rate names on how much you like a name in your favorites. Very handy when you are trying to decide which name you like the most.

So far so good. I just started using this app, but so far I like it. It's easy to use and I like being able to go through names without a huge bulky book. As stated by a previous reviewer, you are forced to review it to unlock certain things which I think is a little stupid. How can you give an honest rating if you haven't even used the whole program yet?

Great Free App. This is one of the best free apps that I've seen. I really didn't want to spend money for an app and this has all the features I wanted including origin (added mapping feature is a nice touch) and the ability to save favorites. You have to put up with banner ads, but it's not that big of a deal.

Seems okay so far. It definitely has a lot of names to sift through. I can see where it'd be useful if you didn't already have names chosen due to the vast number of choices. I don't like however that you have to write a review in order to unlock a part of this app. I can't give an honest review without having has access to the app in it's entirety.

I like the app, but it needs to have something..... I like the app, but it needs to have something where you can have different ratings. Like favorites, maybes, no's, and over my dead body. So when you are discussing names you can save all of them... I've been trying to make sure I don't offend family, but I don't want to save names as "favorites" since I really don't want the names on that list.

BEST ONE YET!. I have downloaded 5+ name apps, and this one is by far the best one! Such a great interface. It's easy to use, it's pretty and has the largest selection of names. It is exactly from the SSA list, so it's up to date. You can save your favorites and add names that aren't on there. Highly recommend it!

Great app. I'm a writer so I use this app all the time when trying to name characters. I love being able to search by country. I find it very easy to use and, while it did crash on me at first, once I allowed the first update it never has again.

Good app. This app has a great list of names and selections. I wish there were more list options such as categories of names other than top 100 and by origin. But overall was nice too look through to get ideas, and save names that I liked.

Nifty app, best I've tried. First: compared to the other baby name apps I've used, this is my favorite. I love the custom add feature. Suggestion 1: give the option to tag a favorited name as a middle name. Suggestion 2: be able to enter a last name and see chosen first and middle names as a complete name. Suggestion 3: indicate to me what I get for upgrading other than no ads...or if that's it, say so.

Perfect. I love this app. All the other apps kept showing me the same (and variations of the same) 100 names. No matter how you spell Brittany it's still the same name. This app has names I have never heard before plus their meanings and origins. If you are looking for a baby name that's a little off the beaten path this is the app for you!

Creative thinking!. This is a great app for not only looking for baby names, but also any writers out there with blocks on naming their characters! 4/5 rating because I do wish there was a place to save personal notes on names within the app (maybe in-app purchase?) but for now the heart rating works!

VERY USEFUL. This app is certainly helpful. I love the large database of words, and the design is just gorgeous. The sorting function for Favorites is great :D However, some of the "unisex" names aren't really unisex. Still a valuable app to have, especially when you need to think of a name for a character!

I love this app!. It's so easy to use and gives you the search option to filter out and narrow down the best names and there are sooooo many names to choose from ! We have like 15 that we like and can't choose from lol!

Great App!. This was one of the first apps I downloaded, and I still use it all the time. I like the setup and the way it puts different meanings for one name under different cultures. However, it has a tendency to log me out. All in all, I think this app is wonderful if you want to check out name for your baby or just loop up the meanings behind you and your friends' names!

Barely any content. I usually would look up names on my laptop, but was curious what apps were out there and if they would be more in depth and insightful. So disappointed. Asked me to upgrade (ie PAY) within 30 seconds of opening app. Only provides a VERY brief name description, and the search categories are either a) Popular names or b) Cultural names. couldn't even find some names I've seen on other sites to have a jumping off point, which didn't matter anyway since this app doesn't do "name clusters" anyway . Deleting.

Great App!. I don't plan on having any children anytime soon, but I love the meanings behind names and I love language in general. I'm also a writer and like to find character names through this app. It's such a great way to come up with something meaningful that matches what I have in mind! 5 stars! :)

So far so good. The functions are easy to handle. It's cool how it shows the popularity of each name for each year. Plus, it gives you the meaning of each name from different nationalities. It hasn't crashed or shown any glitches. So, I think so far so good. Plus I'm writing this review for a function.

Loving it so far.. After using several other apps I decided to try another one. I am loving how user friendly this one is. After recent update the genie doesn't work like used to. Both my husband and I have names that start with E and the genie now only gives names with E as results.

Cool. It's ok but I still know the names I want for my future kids, I haven't been able to find them on this app and there are too many ads that u have to be careful not to carelessly tap one. Plus most of the names on here r really weird! So I've just been looking for names I already like but it's kinda fun

Great Name Search App. Very all inclusive with great functionality. Only complaint is sometimes I am scrolling through long lists of names and when I need to do something else on my phone the app does not remain where I left off and I need to start the same search again and try to remember my place on the list.

Most known names available. Although I do not believe that an app could ever have "all" names, I think this app has most names. I could however say a few common names I found missing. This is a trivial and inconsequential issue as this app does compensate in terms of a very huge data bank of names. The best thing I have encountered was the easy yo understand graphical popularity charts of the name. Etymology and meanings are also conveniently located below the name. The ability to "favorite" names is of course very useful. All in all I am giving this 5 stars.

I use it almost all of the time. I tend to use these kinds of books, websites, and apps to name my characters that I come up with. Sense I don't like giving them commonplace names like "Lucy" or "Daniel" this app gives me a break. It has lots of unique names from around the world! I highly suggest trying it out!
