More bugs every time we have an update. The sound quality at faster speeds has not been as good since the previous update, and now with the most recent update a few days ago there are more problems. Every time my book goes to the next track it actually skips a track. And, when listening at double speed it will go back to normal speed. Really hard to listen to a book this way since I have to restart the speed each time and try to get to the right track. Plus the sound quality at more than normal speed...really needs to be fixed.

Last Update Broke. Update: App Support was extremely responsive to the crashing issue. The issue was resolved within hours of support being notified. Thank you! I just upgraded to the latest version and now my player will not start. Please fix this issue ASAP.

Exactly what I was looking for. I just purchased a pack of MP3 audiobooks and I normally listen to Audible at 1.5 normal speed. So when I have to listen to things at normal speed or whatever it is EXCRUCIATING!!! I am so glad I found this app and the fact that you can dial up your speed by tenths instead of quarters is even better. Now if only o could figure out how to love my audible library over here...????

Free = Ad Supported Crippled Demo. Don’t bother getting the free version if you listen to books that are over 12 hours. The app will lock up and demand money to finish. The so called free version of this application is not really a free version. Up front it should be noted that this is truly a crippled demo of the paid version that is ad supported. The inability to finish books over a specific length is ridiculous, as you will watch ads the whole time. This would be equivalent to watching television with commercials then being told you have to pay to watch the last 15 minutes of the program. To the developer, please update in the description right front this is a purposely crippled ad supported app so that people don’t get frustrated when it just locks up. State up front in the storeyou can only listen to 12 hours per book while being forced to watch ads. The app is great, but the way it’s delivered is disingenuous. Ad supported usually means I watch ads but don’t pay but I get most functionality.

A Joy to Use. I have used this app to listen to my audio books for several years now. I keep several book series, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, etc., add new books, remove after read, etc. While I currently have 17 books loaded, with several books in progress, the app has never lost a reading place. Bookmarks work like a charm. I not only listen to audio books at home, I also listen while I drive. I appreciate that the app pauses during turn-by-turn directions. Thank you for an app that just does its thing flawlessly.

Fantastic App!. This is, without a doubt, one of the best apps I’ve ever used! I’ve watched this grow from a simple MP3 player app that was a little buggy at times to one of the best audiobook apps that’s available. It’s certainly better than the one provided by Apple. And don’t let the name fool you. It plays much more than just MP3s. It’s got everything a person could want in an audiobook app. Chapter markings and notes, an equalizer to get the sound just right, a much easier way to upload books than Apple app ever offered. This thing’s got it all! It’s so flexible that it can even play .flac files, some thing every Apple audio program refuses to do. I don’t know what I paid for the “professional” app. Maybe $5? Whatever the price, it was well worth it! Highly recommend it!

Phenomenal Audiobook App. I have a number of audiobooks of various formats and ages, collected over decades. I digitized them all to use on mobile devices before iPhones even existed, but obviously now I’d rather not carry a separate device around with me. MP3 Audiobook Player to the rescue! This app lets me load books wirelessly, even via WebDAV, and has excellent usability features like playback speed. It can also be the target of a timer on iOS, so you can set a bedtime timer and automatically stop playback when desired. I just love it, and immediately bought the full version after I saw what it could do.

Audiobook player. Somehow I cannot turn the freaking Progam off. Every time I have to stop the player from for whatever reason it goes to the audiobook and I tried to shut it off maybe you’ve got a setting but I can’t see. If I could figure out what that setting is it be a five star program or app but since I can’t thus the two stars I can’t be looking down from the road to make certain I am pushing the right button

Great but has issues lately. First let me say I love this app and have been using it for years. I’d like to point out that I recently upgraded to the iPhone 15 pro max and have been having issues with the app ever since. When I stop a book or use the sleep timer, it marks my placement far later than where I actually stopped, about 30 min -1 hour. It’s a little frustrating because I have to go back and search for where I truly stopped listening. Not sure if this is an issue with the current version or the new model phone. I hope this gets fixed because I really do consider this to be the best audiobook app out there.

Does exactly what I wanted and needed. I’m an audiobook reviewer and I’m sent non-audible copies a lot. I needed an easy place to keep and listen to these books. Insert this app. It does exactly what I needed - allows me to speed up or slow down (by .1 which is nice when one 1.5 is too slow but 2 is too fast for example). Uploading is simple and works perfectly. Syncing is fast. Playback is fast. One of the major issues I had with it was recently solved in a newer update. I bought the pro version minutes into using the free one and I haven’t looked back.

Best Audiobook player. Loved the free version so much, I upgraded to the Pro version. Love how it can play numerous formats. Easy to use, and navigate. Hope in a future update they include the ability to autoplay the next book after the previous one ended. Not all files are always a book, so in those cases this would be perfect, as some files are per chapter from some online sources.

What the doctor ordered. Fits the bill perfectly to play audiobooks ripped from other media: premium version allows bookmarking, reading rate change (the best I've ever seen from .5x through 3x and every variation in between) and sleep timer. Plays files in multiple formats, including mp3s and m4b (audiobook version of m4a). Easy to load books through iTunes file sharing. I haven't tried the wireless method. Well worth the money for the premium version (which you can just purchase outright, but I got it free first, liked it, and almost immediately did the IAP for the pro features). Been looking for a solution since Audible discontinued the feature to play your own iTunes audiobook library and iBooks is inadequate. This is it. Highly recommended. Found this while trying to figure out how to play a library of audiobooks from a favorite author ripped from cassettes and CDs (not available on Audible - always my go-to).

This is a bonus app. I love this app for many reasons. I don’t use it for general music. I have too much. I use it for books (duh), guided meditations and solfeggio healing tracks. I set up my list using bk, med, and snd in the title as the sort item so I can see each media form in its own space/order. I would give this app 4.5 stars if I could. The only thing I would like to see is to have the ability to hit “replay” as an option.

Exactly what I needed. So far this app is great. I had a bunch of audiobooks in both MP3 and M4B. It was really disappointing that I could use the MP3 ones on my regular player. Getting the files to the player was actually really easy using the wifi option, once I figured out how to make it work

It was Excellent, but now it’s ruined. I loved this app, but they added an EQ which even when turned off ruins the sound quality of the books, since changing and the last several updates, it has remained horrible. Ever audiobook now sounds like it was cheaply recorded, the narrator voices now sound hollow, thin, tinny and just down right horrible, I was in the middle of a number of books, which I can’t finish since tragically updating my app🙁 I sure hope they revert to the older version, until then back to the horrible iPhone audiobook app. Old review. iPhone book app continues to get worse and worse, so I am so glad to find this alternative. The app comes up fast and have multiple playing speed options, it remembers my spot and I find it easy to add audiobooks. The only problems I’ve had is a black out freeze, I’ll think my battery completely died, eventually the phone comes back on line though, it is an odd short of app crash, very Rare but it happens occasionally. The other thing is even after leaving a book, and turning on music, if I want to switch a song without fully entering my phone, sometimes iPhone shows the book instead of currently playing song. Restarting the phone is needed to correct this.

I love you!!. I’ll just discuss when you became my forever. I had an audiobook that had 15 individual chapters and usually when downloading, it’s not in order and a mess to listen to. Well I attempted to download the chapters and it asked me if I wanted to combine the files into one book....OMG!!! I now love this app!! Thank you for that.

Great app but.... I have only experienced 1 issue with app but it is annoying enough for me look for other apps. The book will restart from the beginning about every other time of listening. I do like the bookmark option but I often stop listening because of interruptions. Phone, people etc. And if I forget to go back and bookmark. I lose my spot when book restarts. What makes this more frustrating is there is no easy way to skip around. If you use bar at bottom it is not for fine tuning and moves in large chunks especially on longer books. I even paid for this app to see if remembering last spot was a premium function. It is not. I tried help section but it is small and only is for importing books. Good app except for this quirk which is a big one for me. It would be 5 stars from me if I could use it without cussing every time it restarts my book ha

Best Audiobook MP3 player I've used so far. I've used a couple different MP3 players, but this one is the best I've used. I've been using if for at least 2 years. It's never failed me. I love the bookmarking feature but mainly love how it remembers my spot when I close the app. I've even deleted an audiobook half way and re installed it and it kept my place. I'm a truck driver so this is an essential for me. And as I've said, it's the best one I've found, by far.

Excellent!. This app has a ton of features for listening to your audiobooks. The shake to extend the sleep timer is very convenient and a feature I miss when I switch back to the Audible app for my library there. Also, the equalizer has been a really nice addition along with the audio preset built in. I can keep my books out on my iCloud Drive and download them when I’m ready to listen. Great app!

Awesome app!. I love this app, especially after the previous update which added iPhone X support. I have to say that this latest update that just came out today is taking a step backwards with respect to how it looks on the iPhone X. The notch area is too busy now, especially with the arrow and previous app name in the top left. Please go back your previous design. Thanks.

Fixed my wifi problem!. Fine app, but don’t expect any help from Oleg. He doesn’t care. My iphone suddenly wouldn’t connect to my pc for transferring audiobooks. The fix is to turn off “Private Wi-fi Address” under the ‘i’ next to your wifi network in Settings/Wifi. This feature was added to an IOS upgrade recently and blocks this app from communicating. Turn the Private setting back on when you’re done for the marginal security it provides. Thanks for all your help, Oleg!

The best audiobook player for mp3. Audiobooks from mp3 can be hard to play, players like Audible don’t work well unless you buy the content from them. Podcast or music players don’t work well, so this software fills a very nice niche. Had very creative ways of adding the mp3s to the device as well.

There may be something I don't know. I downloaded the app, selected an audiobook by Richard Dawkins I had dowloaded from my library, opened it in Kindle, played it on the Mac, but the iPhone version WILL NOT add the book, even though the same app on the Mac works. As I paid to upgrade to Pro, I either want my money back or for the developer to point out something I am missing. Also my review doesn't show up.

Constant charges. Works great but they constantly try to recharge you for the lifetime fee. It won’t work until you pay again and again. The notice says that if you paid before you will not be charged again but then comes the notice from Apple that you have been charged again. Not a lot of money but really annoying to be lied to over and over.

File Name vs Metadata Track Name. It's a good app and does exactly what it says it'll do. I was glad to pay the upgrade price to unlock all features. What mostly surprised me is that after syncing a handful of Audiobooks I own in mp3 format, when playing the files the app shows the file name, and not the track name. For those unfamiliar with metadata tagging, this means that if I've taken the effort to tag all of my files so that TRACK name would appear correctly when playing the book in iTunes or another app (eg. Chapter 14: Felix Felicis), this app will instead show the FILE name (eg. Harry Potter 6 - 15). Admittedly, MOST of my files are music related, so I have carefully tagged the metadata in ALL of them so that the track name will appear correctly in any app or software that plays media files. This is the first time I've ever used a audio file app that recognizes mp3 files but only by the file name. I've checked and rechecked the settings and don't see a way for the app to recognize the files differently. Yes, I can go back through all of my files are rename them so that the file name and the track name are identical, but that's a lot of time and energy, and I'm not sure it's worth it. So yes, this is a good, almost great app. But those who are like me, and choosy about how you've organized the metadata on your audio files may want to know going in that this app only shows the file name.

Like it it but.... I use the app starting 2011. Always was happy with design and performance. Now, sometime after April app randomly crashes while playing an audio file (phone is not in use). Happens at least once a day, which is pretty annoying. I use iPhone SE. again, it’s a pretty new bug and maybe it is fixed in the latest update. Cheers

The tool to make all your old audio books on CD portable.. This well designed and functional app can take your ripped CD audio books in MP3 format and organize them for very easy, convenient Audible like play. It is also,relatively easy to get your files into the app. It is a definite recommend.

Best local Audiobook listening. I have a large list of audiobooks download in mb4 for and have tried many different apps. This is by far the best and most convenient app. It also automatically gets the cover art for each book. I recommend getting the pro so that there are no listening limits.

A practically perfect audio book experience.. I've used this app for over 700 hours and it continues to surprise me with how well it works. From the Webdav network transfer to the listening experience, it works exactly - or better than I would hope.

Exactly what I was looking for.. The app allows a lot of freedom as far as organization and playback speed. Sleep timer is adjustable and combining books into series folders is simple. Equalizer helps to adjust pitch when playing at high speeds and helps reduces feedback with poor quality recordings. App never crashes and I don’t have any complaints.

Exactly what i was looking for. If you need an easy way to assemble mp3’s into a usable audiobook format look no further. This application If incredible, so many features and so easy to use. Plus it works with Apple Car Play! What more could you ask for?

Decent app. I check out lots of audiobooks from the library , and they have long waiting lists for newer books, plus limits to time allowed to keep them. This app is helpful, as I can do a couple simple steps to transfer the files into this app, then return the book to the library , giving others the chance to listen to it, while giving me time to complete it. I have yet to purchase the upgrade , but after I try this a bit longer, as long as it works well, I probably will, as the free app has a limit to 10 hour audiobooks. That’s a bit of a problem, since many of the books I listen to are much longer than that. Other than that, no problems so far.

Good when working well. Firstly I would like to say that the app when working properly is awesome and I have no complaints on that front. FYI I am running this on an IPhone 6, and I have paid for the app. It is very buggy. Sometimes when playing a book it does not display on the lock screen or react to headphone inputs. Sometimes the app itself does not react to pause/play inputs right away. I have to his pause, play, then pause again and it teleports me back a few minutes in the recording. Right now the playback speed changer is not working at all for me. Also the sleep timer seems to reset randomly. Overall great app, but it needs to fix some bugs.

Great sound quality at higher speeds. This is the only audiobook player I've found that can speed books up (without changing the pitch) and still keep the sound quality very good. It sounds as good as Overcast (minus a couple features like skipping empty spots and voice boosting) but makes it easy to import books (Overcast forces you to upload them to their servers with a 2gb limit).

Does a simple job and does it perfectly. Playing existing mp3 audio book files should be a slam dunk for an iPhone, but Apple doesn’t make it easy. This program fills this gap in functionality. It is easy to add files, through iCloud for example, and the app’s play functions work as expected. A pleasure to use.

Not great, but seems to be the best on iOS. This app isn’t great and has some weird quirks. For instance, pausing and resuming from Bluetooth controls or the lock screen might resume your book, but you may lose your place and return to a previous position when you open the app back up. Still better than any of the other audiobook apps on iOS due to a pretty decent UI and ease of access.

Perfect. After having many problems with the built-in audiobook player that comes with Apple products I was so happy to find this application. Not only does it accept MP3 files it joins them together. I have experienced numerous problems where an MP4 book will play in iTunes but would not play in the app that comes with my iPhone. This application plays them all flawlessly. And the increased speed is perfect. As one who consumes 2 to 3 audiobooks a week this is just what I needed.

Me. Incredable app. I am very picky about these type of apps & everything must be in order. This has everything I need. Plays beautifully, nice and smooth. Just an all-around excellent app. i've been using it for years. finally a developer who knows what they're doing.

Excellent!. I’ve tried several audiobook apps and this is by far the best for ease of use, great features, and wonderful ui. Everything that you need is available on the main screen and easily accessible. Navigation is easy, settings for customizing are very flexible, and the support for bookmarks is superior. This is the one to buy.

Great! Until.... Worked perfectly. I’ve listened to countless books using this app and upgraded. I’ve loved it until today when it just stopped working for some reason. I deleted it and redownloaded it. I was able to reupload my mp3s but now they won’t play. They work fine on my computer. It’s been hell trying to get support. Edit: there is a setting I needed to change. If phone volume is on zero, it doesn’t work 🤦🏽‍♀️ changed the setting and has no problems.

Great app but having upload problems. I cannot get WiFi upload to work anymore. I have turned off the iOS ip privacy settings. The app still shows the friendly name rather than the ip and shows no port. I did try the ip:1111 anyway but no luck. I also tried to contact support but the form wouldn’t work. RESOLVED: Weirdly you have to turn “Private WiFi address” on for it to work

Absolutely perfect... almost. Wish they had the functionality of knowing how much time you've listened to total or for a given period. But adding books from my collection is a breeze and playback is great. Every once in a while it'll behave strange in car play (time moves on like it's playing but no audio. Stop and start and it's fixed) but otherwise it's a spectacular alternative to audible.

Great audiobook app, but.... I think this app is pretty awesome, BUT it takes about 13 SECONDS to play the book when you press the “play button”, instead of immediately. I even purchased the pro thinking that the issue will be resolved with the upgrade; sadly no such luck. Could you guys PLEASE fix that issue. Other than that, I really like the interface and the fact you can Google book covers through the app. But ultimately, that’s pretty much the main issue keeping me from 5 stars at the moment haha. Works but audio balance is messed up on AirPods Pro. For some reason the audio sounds like it’s coming from the side or bottom when using AirPods Pro. I changed the audio engine from automatic to universal and that helped but when I pause and play again the audio is again messed up and I need to go back and toggle the audio engine back and forth to fix it. I took off a second star because the free version has a limit of 12h per book which they should more clearly say. Overall it’s a decent app but I’m going back to bookplayer which is completely free due to the above 2 issues.

Great App. The default music player doesn’t make it easy to add audio books from mp3, you can do it but it’s a pain in the but. This app makes it easy! I have been using it for years and I have been getting the updates for free! After my 1 time purchase. I like this app so much I deleted the music app and just have this.

Very nice interface. I really like this app. I was looking for something to replace another app I was using, which would be more capable and easier to use. This is it. The interface is very easy to figure out, and there are many configuration options. The only thing keeping it from being five stars is that the speed selection only goes in tenths, e.g., 1.2, 1.3, 1.4. Better would be to have it go by hundredth’s instead, or at least by 0.05 instead of 0.1. Sometimes you can’t quite get the perfect speed, but otherwise this is a great app.

Good, but a few bugs. I have liked most aspects of the MP3 Audiobook Player. It has the ability to boost the volume and speed books up well beyond the standard 2.0x that most players are limited too. The interface is easy to use and I like that it provides multiple ways to get audiobooks onto your device. One of my favorite features is the ability to bundle a bunch of MP3s into one book so you don't have to fiddle around with multiple files and trying to get them in the right order. My only complaint with MP3 Audiobook Player is that it starts playing paused books whenever my iPhone rings. That bug is super annoying. If the developers could fix this issue, MP3 Audiobook Player would be nigh unto perfect.

No user set up playlist. Used for several months. Will have to go back to using the “bookmobile” app. Not being able to have a playlist which automatically starts playing the next listed book is a deal breaker. Hard to start another book when I’m power walking m. Doing chores and worse yet, in the sauna with my phone out of the sauna. No playlist makes it difficult to go from one book to the next. Incorporate a user ordered playlist and I’ll use it again. App is inferior to bookmobile for that reason.

Necessary for an audio Bible. I use this app. to hear the Bible, usually while exercising on a ski machine (with a separate Bluetooth speaker). The audio Bible I have is in German, so I get some language practice, too. The app. keeps the files in their proper order, which iTunes did not. I see the app. has a procedure built in for uploading files to the iPhone. I had already used 3rd party software to do that for a previous iPhone, and these files came over to this phone when I got a new phone. This app. clips the chapter number just a little when starting a new chapter, but only when using the Bluetooth speaker, so that may be a problem wit the speaker software. My previous audio book player did not do that. Other than that, it does what I want.

Support?. I just downloaded and installed free version. I have Dropbox installed. Trying to add audiobook in Dropbox directory to app. Add file indicates it is possible. However, Dropbox does not show up as an option. No apparent way to access. Attempted to use “Contact” option. Entry screen pops up and I filled out. Last field is “Control question”. The control appears to be, no contact allowed. Regardless of the entry, it either responds with an error or “There was an error trying to send your message. Please try again later.”

Very useful app. Overall a great app with a bunch of handy features. I find the interface pretty intuitive. I like the simple edit function to touch up books. I like the timers and restarting function. I like how easy it is to add books using a web interface or by iTunes sync. I do wish the app could read m4b chapter markers, and I’d also like to be able to easily share my audiobooks using airdrop to my other devices. But overall, this app has more features and functionality than any alternative I’ve found, and the price is very reasonable.

Good, but ... It works. But The added books don’t show up on the phone quickly. The interface is way too old and distracting for 2019 app aesthetics. Restyle and your app will be crashing! PS I would love the possibility to add book covers.

Asinine paywall. There's a paywall that stops you from playing the book after 12 hours. I can understand paywalling some features but the functionality of the app is to play audiobooks and that paywall is the biggest asinine money grab tactic. 3$ is nothing but it's such a disrespectful moneygrab that I'm deleting this app.

Great app!. Fantastic app. Works perfectly.

The best. This is my go to player, and equals or beats the audible player for whatever audiobooks you like. One bug shows up maybe once per book or two- it plays a part of another book, then reverts back to the right one after that file or section finishes. The ui shows your correct book, so there is no way to correct it. Overall it is the best app for this purpose available I believe.

Bad audio sound when speed listening!. For some time now, this app has had a terrible, unlistenable sound quality when you use any speed higher than 1x. I have had to move to competing apps instead. If developer fixes it is replies here I'll change my review. This is ridiculous. Update like a year later: The developer has done NOTHING. This terrible deal-breaker bug exists! This has forced me to move a massive library of unfinished audiobooks into another app which is a ridiculous undertaking. And now all I get is ads while I try to do this laborious process. I've now moved to BookPlayer and I suggest you use an alternative! This app used to be great. Now it's gone to S#!t.

Why didn’t I get it sooner?. Finally I can dump Apple’s audiobook app. This has all the same great features, without the never-ending bugs (could the newest update BE any slower?) and without the super aggressive advertising. I can listen to my audiobooks in peace.

Reliable and easy to use. I download mp3s of my favourite radio show, which I listen to every day. Dealing with iTunes to manage these files with my music is just a pain, but this app is the solution to all my problems. I save my files in a folder, which I drop into the app in iTunes (via the file manager in the Apps section for my phone). The 15 second skip feature works out great if I need to skip backwards or forwards.

Excellent mp3 audiobook reader. The best I have found and the the dev actively maintains the app and repies to any problems.

Vast improvement over Music app. This is a terrific audiobook player. It keeps your place even when the phone is rebooted, there are no ads once you pay a small charge and the interface is nice and easy. What more do you need??

My most used app. I use this app more than YouTube which is surprising! Very easy to setup with audiobooks along with the faster listening rate mates it a really good audiobook player.

Great until I updated it this afternoon. ..and now it just crashes on startup.

Excellent app. Good interface, comprehensive set of features, easy to use. Using Airplay on a Mac I can quickly send my audios to the player.

Pause and play buttons not working properly. When I pressed pause at 1.30, then pressed play again, then it jumped to 1.50. Please fix.

Jumps around. This app use to work great, now when i pause something it restarts in different places. Not worth it.

Echoing playback. Once again there is an issue with echoing audio when playback speed is greater than x1. This started up again after the last update. Please fix it quicker than the last time this same issue developed.

Highly recommend. Been using this for audiobooks, works great and has a bunch of handy features such as playback speed, in app downloader etc

Good app. I like this app but it seems to have lost the ability to download books from cloud services which is a shame. Maybe I'm missing something.

Great. Don't have to muck around with convert programs. But when loading a two part book app will hang and be hard to start. Would get 5 stars if that was fixed.

Everything I want. I hardly ever pay for apps. But I paid for this one because it is does everything I want it to do when I am listening to an MP3 audiobook. Couldn’t be happier.

Best app in its class, but some discontent with the free version. At first I was really enjoying this free app to listen to a story, but when I was three quarters through I was told by the app that I could not continue because I only had the free version. Don't get me wrong, I love this app and I am now really enjoying the pro version, but I dunno, I guess I wish the free version at least let me complete the one book I was listening before withholding the joy of it's conclusion.

Could only 'see' and play one file. The functionality seemed fine. However I attempted to import three files over iCloud. The app said the imports were successful but only showed the first file in the library. It described the length and file size as the combined lengths and sizes of the three files. However the player itself could only recognize and play the first file. Maybe I'm missing something as it seems to work for others. But it's failed for me.

Pretty nice reader till you get in the car. I have been using this app for a while and it worked nicely till last year when there was a bug that wouldn’t let me listen the books in the car for some reason. I think they fixed that bug later on and I have another bug that as son I enter the car and it is connected with the Bluetooth the sound automatically turns to zero and the player stops working again. When I turn off the Bluetooth on my phone I can continue listen to the book through phone speakers, but it is ridiculous to listen the book through the phone speakers when you have car speakers. My family loves listening to audio books, but I can’t use the app in the car when we travel because of this issue.

The best. I have been testing audiobook players for the purpose of playing audio Bibles for quite a while and I have tried purchasing bound as well as book mobile and this one is significantly better than both. All the features actually work :-)

Great, but.... Latest update seems to have broken it. App fails to load chapters now. Will change review back to 5 when it’s fixed.

File management still terrible. Another update and another miss on file management within the app. Please address moving files between books. Let us move more than 1 at a time.

Dosent work. I can not open any audiobook, the page is frozen on “loading audiobooks” Could not import new audiobooks, just wouldn't do anything when I tried to open/import files🤷‍♂️

The Best Audio Book App on Apple Store. This app is leaps and bounds ahead of the other apps in this App Store, including apples own iBooks. As Some one who has a NAS system this app is perfect. My only gripe and this is nitpicking. Is that the books are presented in a list view instead of column view/image view. Like how comic book apps present your cbr files. Other than that this app is pretty much perfect. And worth the $6 for pro version. Thank you Dev team for not going subscription. And for that reason is why I’m sharing this app with my friends

Latest update crashed audio books. I can’t read audio book files after latest update. Tries to play and app crashes.

Was a 5 before the update. Since the update there have been many bugs: not being able to press play from the lock screen (nothing happens and I have to open my phone to continue my book) and equally as annoying, I listen to my books at x2 speed and it keeps jumping back to x1 speed on its own all the time. Fix these bugs and it goes back to five for sure.

Superb application. Very robust, no glitches, no crashes. Works as advertised. I LOVE this app. Excellent value, strongly recommend. I have nothing negative to say, it does exactly what it says it does, and it does it very well.

A good audiobook player. Navigation on the app is easy, and it always starts where I left off.

This is Trialware. Basic function, ok. Overall, not great.. The good: Playback and playback controls on the phone work well. Wi-Fi import of audiobooks from your home network works well. Listening to short audio files works well. The bad: this is trialware and cuts off your access to longer length audiobooks. Controls from Bluetooth headsets don’t work well. Controls from Apple Watch barely work at all. Import from cloud source doesn’t work. Resume playback where you left off works most of the time but not all of the time. When you re-launch the app, playback resumes whether you wanted it to or not. Regardless of the settings. What they don’t tell you is that playback is limited to 12 hours. They don’t tell you this before you download and install the app. In some jurisdictions, this is illegal according to contract law. In any jurisdiction, this is just dishonest. The controls and the playback work reasonably well. It resumes where you left off most of the time but not all the time. There is an Apple Watch companion app, but it’s almost useless. Occasionally, it lets you pause or resume playback. But most of the time it just doesn’t. Most disappointing is it’s support for Bluetooth headphones. If your headphones have play pause volume up volume down controls, these don’t work very well. Pausing playback works most of the time. Volume up & down works some of the time. Resuming playback doesn’t work. Importing audiobooks from the cloud location just doesn’t work. It downloads and downloads and downloads and downloads and never ever gets the files. However, the Wi-Fi import works very well. What this app does well is done as well or better by VLC. What is it not well done in VLC is done as bad or worse in this app.

Pretty sluggish. This app is pretty slow on my iPhone 11 Pro and Apple Watch series 5.

Books not playing. After most recent update books will not play in the background when the phone screen is off. Here are the detailed steps. I launch the app for the first time, play a book and it works fine in the background. Then I turn on the phone and pause the book. Turn of the phone. Turn it on again, start the app (which is open in the apps background), start playing the book and it plays ok until the phone screen is off. Whenever I turn the screen on the book continues to play but then freezes when the screen is off. Please fix

Excellent player. Don’t bother looking elsewhere this one does it all well. Yes, you have to pay to unlock all features, worth every penny.

Useless on iPad. I have dozens of audiobooks and presentations in many different formats. Many are multi chapter files. First, I can’t load anything from the ipad itself. I don’t have a Mac. Second, it doesn’t recognize that one recording can be multiple files. Utterly useless.

Not sure it worth…. Frankly speaking I don’t see any advantages in comparison with default free app. For your money you need monkey around to upload books because it doesn’t work with iTunes as I understood.

Perfect DRM-Free Audiobook App. *edited May 13 2024 I don’t know what they changed but when I try to upload a book using wifi it crashes. Since I can’t add new books that makes it useless to me. —— It does everything I need: nice clean interface, many ways to transfer files including direct to iPhone, search function makes it easy to find your content, can change the speed of the audio (and it’s pre-EQ and sounds fantastic). Unlike some other apps it always keeps my place and doesn’t randomly restart from the beginning of the audio file. It does everything I need. Bravo!

Not free, only 12 hours of playback. After only 12 hours of play the app will stop and force you to pay 2,79$ or 4$ (don’t know what the difference between the two options, it’s not described anywhere). Nowhere does it mention in app purchases. Nowhere does it mention the app is only good for 12 hours. Very disappointed feels like a scam. Besides being ripped off and having to download another app, the books played well and the progress was always kept in memory.

Upload’s stopped working. I have been using this player for years but all of a sudden the upload functionality over wi-fi stopped working. If i select the “via wifi” option, I get a message saying “wi-fi upload is not available” If I select WebDav, I get (null) where normally the access IP address should be. This has been going on for days now. Needless to say that my wi-fi works fine.

BEWARE!!!. I bought this player. It associated itself with mp4 files. When I double clicked on mp4 video to play it, my Macbook opened this app and the video disappeared from the file system. I lost 3 downloaded videos, they are never to be found.

Good but has some catches. There’s a 12 hr limit, meaning you can only listen for 12 hrs before paying to remove that limit. It’s pretty good and helpful. Would not recommend though, as now I’m dying of curiosity and can’t quench it cuz of the paywall.

By far the best free audiobook player app. Easy to use and nice, simple and intuitive interface. I especially like the shake to reset sleep timer function. Have been using for a while and only have one complaint. Sometimes it glitches and doesn’t let you import books from the cloud. You can see the book there, but you can’t click on it to import. Overall, great app, I prefer this over Audible’s app.

It’s great. I’ve tried many players for my downloaded audiobooks. This is the best. No complaints. No notes. It’s perfect for my needs. Buy it. It’s worth it.

12 hour limit not advertised in description. This is an easy to use app which I have enjoyed. Was very surprised to have the app stop working with the message “play back of 12 hour limit for free app reached” and required to pay to continue to use app. This information should be upfront in the description of the app! Luckily I have not left for a trip expecting to use the app with all my own audiobooks loaded into this app.

Updates are a jokes. ~ update: I lost all the book covers I downloaded and uploaded to the app. I can’t get in with the latest update and if I delete the app and redownload I lose all my mp4, image and setting *cry* how could they?!?!

Affordable, effective, and great developers. I got this app in its early days, and had an annoying bug come up. I reported it to the developers and they were very kind and supportive, fixing the bug in the next release. I am a professional software engineer, and it brought a tear to my eye. Keep up the good work boys!

Web uploader stopped working. If this uploader does not work it’s a waste of money….looks like developer does support product anylonger

Good audiobook player. I have enjoyed using this app though there are a couple of areas I would like to see improved. When importing books it doesn’t carry over the file names so I never know which file is which. Also the screen doesn’t automatically shut off meaning there have been several times I have fallen asleep and my phone was dead by the morning as the screen had been on all night. Otherwise it is a solid app. I import all my files from Dropbox and it works without a problem. Simple and easy to use.

Just missing CarPlay support. Love the app. It works well except that it doesn’t support CarPlay (yet). I’d love to be able to pick up where I left off while driving.

A heck of a deal for $5. I reviewed and tested many audio book players before committing to one. This is the one, save yourself sometime and try it first. It has many features and does everything I need. It even integrates with the Bluetooth player in the car and lets me push the controls on the steering wheel to rewind by 15 seconds if I missed something. You can also load audio books directly from the internet (URL) from a zip file. It even looks great! Solid app for $5. Probably worth 4-5 times this.

Useful App. Nice, simple app. Does what it says on the box. Very easy to load in audiobooks. Unlike some, does not pester you to make purchases. Excellent value.

Some bugs, but still good. I don’t get any controls from the locked screen, and I cannot start/stop the audio with headphone controls. Need to enter the app to do any kind of control. Audio gets tiny when you speed it up. Might just be bugs on my end? if not, please fix it? I paid to remove adds and support you, so please make it work. Used this as an alternative to the Official apple app.

Excellent way to manage audio. Before I found this MP3 Audiobook Player, I couldn't find a top tier mobile app for my audiobooks. The freedom from analytics and surveillance of my listening habits is a big deal to me and I'm grateful to this app for providing excellent utility.

Great and simple Audiobook app. Works well, being able to save bookmarks of where you are is awesome, just for keeping your place, or to remember that one part of that one book you thought was thoughtful or hilarious. Recommend this app. Only improvement I’d like to see is being able to use it with a certain map app(Waze), which I believe is causing the issue with MP3 Audiobook. (Playback stops as soon as map is open) but it works seamlessly with apple maps.

Does what it supposed to do. But the Apple Watch interface is so ugly. I uninstalled it from my watch and prefer the apple native player widget. If I didn’t have the watch I would give this app a perfect though.

Great app. I really like this app and paid the 3.99 to get the upgraded version. This app is great because it handles multiple file types and allows you to pick a cover from google for it if you were missing one.

All it does is crash. It used to be decent... but since the last update it never starts. It gets to the splash screen and then quits. I will update my review if there is an update that fixes this. But it’s very disappointing that I lost access to my audio books and I’m not going to search through endless files (the book I was listening to is broken down to 70+ files and I have no idea which one I was listening to). It kinda burned my books with the bookmarks included.

Used to work. Used to be the best audiobook app I’ve used, but recently, adding books via WiFi has stopped working. Recent update has somehow broken this function and I can no longer get books onto my phone. Other methods like using google drive don’t work either.

FINALLY a great book/audio app. I purchased the pro version and so far it is outstanding. I’ve tried many different book/audio apps and this one seems to do it all. Keep up the great work!

pause/play problem. Whenever I pause and play again, it automatically fast forwards by over 10-15 minutes. It doesn’t start where I left it on pause.

My most used app. This app works very well and allows me to have complete control over my audio files.

Only 1 Audiobook Allowed and Problems loading. The idea of MP3 Audiobook Player is great, except the performance doesn’t match the concept. I was only able to download one book per IOS device. I could not load more than one audiobook. I bought the pro version for an additional $4.99. But guess what no change. It talks about removing restrictions, I do not know what that means restrictions because nothing is different. I sent a request to the Support email address, no answer. I am very unhappy with this program. I am saddened to give this negative review, but I am also frustrated because the program is not doing what it says it will do.

Needs to be better. Play back, pausing causes the player to either skip chapter or repeat chapter all over. Im constantly losing my place and having to find what chapter i left on. When im listening while browsing it with stop after a chapter and wont continue unless i go back into the app. Very inconvenient, very annoying.

Better than audible. This app has more customization and features than audible. The app also allows you to use your own audio files so you aren’t locked in with Audible’s DRM.

Used to be good. Updates haven’t fixed a playback issue—when speed is above 1x, the sound gets tinny and distorted, making the app unusable if you listen at faster speeds. But it does have lots of options for importing books and the equalizer feature is nice.

Can’t Transfer to Watch. I would love to be able to transfer the books to my watch to listen without the phone. That is the only thing keeping me from purchasing the full version.

As advertised. All I wanted was to be able to control listening to books from my watch. It performed that function as advertised.

Love the new interface. Transfer audiobooks from my computer to here. Love that it works with Airdrop. The only thing that would make it better is if I could transfer books to my watch and listen there.

Tons of crashes. Loved this app for awhile, bought pro almost instantly. But within the last month I’ve noticed the app closing a lot in the background while you’re listening. Hope they fix the crashes, haven’t found a better audiobook app yet.

Doesn’t work for me. I can add a book, edit it, and start to play it, but after a few seconds the app quits. After that, the app won’t launch. Reinstalled it a couple of times and tried it with different books/files, sometimes multi-file zips, sometimes one big mp3, but always the same results. Too bad. I was really excited it worked with CarPlay.

Playback speed issue. After the latest update change of playback speed function stopped working and it only plays on 100% speed. Developers, please fix this, cause otherwise it is a perfect app for audiobooks.

It can be better. The application is very good but I hope if you could make it recognize folders within folders not combine everything with each other

Keeps losing place in book. The last few times I opened the app to listen, my book started from the beginning. Probably the single most important feature for an audiobook reader. Really disappointed.

Transfer of books from computer STOPPED WORKING!. I have the paid "pro" version of this app. It worked fine for a while, but with one of the ios 16 releases the ability to transfer books from my computer stopped working. I contacted the developer but nothing he suggested worked. If you Google this issue, you'll see others are experiencing the same thing.

Killer bugs!. I've used this extensively in the past and it has always worked well. It has been an awesome app. Starting recently there has been a bug that causes playback to hang on my iPhone 8. The only way to recover is to completely close the app by swiping up. I reported the bug but have received no acknowledgement at all. Not even an automated one. If they fix the bug it will go back up to 5 stars.

Great little app!. This app has gotten me through two audiobooks successfully! I even paid to upgrade so I could listen to longer ones. It works like a charm.

There may be something I don't know. I downloaded the app, selected an audiobook by Richard Dawkins I had dowloaded from my library, opened it in Kindle, played it on the Mac, but the iPhone version WILL NOT add the book, even though the same app on the Mac works. As I paid to upgrade to Pro, I either want my money back or for the developer to point out something I am missing. Also my review doesn't show up.

MP3 Audiobook Player. This is a great audio player I have tried others and this is definitely the best. I had a question and it was answered in a few minutes by email.

Unstable. Pretty simple and convenient user interface. The app has everything you may need in a software like that. But it’s extremely unstable. Crashes every day multiple times and a few pretty annoying bugs, like sometimes pausing when the app goes on the background. Only restart fixes the issue.

Best Audio Player. I love this audio player for all my online class audios. It’s super easy to load the mp3s. And I love the flexibility of listening at different speeds, I timer function is great.

Great App minor bugs. Great app, super easy to add books via iTunes. The library is easy to navigate. There is a really annoying bug where I want to rewind a couple of seconds the app switches to the next chapter, hope this will be fixed soon.

Worthless App. Purchased app to use for audiobooks. Every time I stop/pause the player it jumps back 3-5 chapters, sometimes even all the way to the beginning of the book. Contacted developer was told he might fix problem in next update and to contact Apple for refund. Well Apple states I should contact developer and refuses to issue a refund. Nice to know developer and Apple are screwing consumers. Buyer beware not worth the money.

Yes! The features I’ve been looking for!. Load in audiobooks from MP3 or CD and have Audible-like controls you’re used to, including Bluetooth controls to skip back or ahead 15 seconds (or whatever length you set). Love it!

No download to Apple Watch. This would be a great app, except — unlike Audible — you can’t download your audiobooks to your Apple Watch. This forces me to carry my iPhone along with my Apple Watch while running. That’s the main reason I have the Apple Watch. Apple enabled background audiobook support with local file storage clear back in June 18 and this app STILL can’t do it. Doesn’t make any sense.

Wasnt bad could be better. I was using the app and enjoying it very much then i was cut off stating my trial period of 10hrs was up. That would great if it was the truth. I only used it for like 3 hrs. Lets not mention that i didn't see anywhere that i was going to have to purchase the app to continue listening to my books. So when the popup popped up it was a complete surprise. Everything i read said this was a free app BUT if i wanted some upgraded stuff then i would have a purchase. Very disappointed.

Easy import and best user interface in the iOS market.. Easy to import and navigate audiobooks. Scrubbing was effective and accurate. Audiobook cover art also beautifully integrated. Would love to see casting capabilities!

Great player!. I love this app because it’s a great player but most importantly for me is that I can upload my own mp3 books and play them.

5* app for audiobooks listening. Best book reader that I could find at the AppStore. I tried 10 different apps but this one fits my needs completely. My special respect to developers for WebDAV feature. I don’t use iTunes for my mp3 files so this feature is essential for me.
