Beautiful & helpful. On my own, I can only recognize a dozen or so common birds, so this program's filtering is useful when I want to identify one I don't know. The photos are large and gorgeous. One improvement I'd like to see is photos of females of the breed, since they often have very different coloration.

Pretty good. It works and is functional, however I wish that there was a range function to see a birds range, or to specifically see birds only in your region

Great app. We have tons of birds in our backyard. This map has come in very handy to identify them. But some I am unsure of, wish I could take a picture of the bird Nd the app helps to determine what it is. This is a great app. Thank you

Love it. Overall I love this app. It has come in handy on several hikes. Wish there were more birds in the app, would love a map of their distribution in the details section, and would like to see my sightings on the map (pin drops) instead of just a list.

Beautiful and easy to use!. This app is nicely designed. I like the way to identify birds so that even a beginner can successfully find out the right species. I already learned a lot from the descriptions and besides the nice images there’s also sounds, maps, and a sighting tool (even though I made most of my sightings in the backyard)!

More photos needed. In order to identify a bird I might be looking at, I need more views of any species.

Nice app. This app does identify some birds that are in the backyard. I like that there are pictures AND songs for most of the birds. Not all birds are listed. I hope that they add more as updates come out.

Immediately useful. Really easy to use, attractive app, for bird beginners such as us and with plenty of room for our growth. Only suggestion is to have more info on both genders, primarily for females more comments or pix where the differ significantly from males.

Opens up a world of bird identification right from my kitchen table!. This app is awesome. The guided menus make it so easy to filter down to the right bird based on size, color, wing bars, fail length etc. It gives you great pictures to confirm your selection. It also has general search capability, geographical ranges, bird call files etc. I definitely recommend. It's like an electronic Peterson's guide!

Love it!. This app is beneficial in trying to figure out what birds are in our area. Love the sounds because most of the time we can just hear them but not see them.

Quick Resource. A fun, easy-to-use quick resource. It's a good education tool for my kids.

Very useful app!. Having found this app I am finally able to tell my grandchildren about the birds "in our backyard" - and can also play the birds' songs!! The children love it - whenever they are visiting now, there is a lot of twittering going on... A lot of fun!

Sunday morning watcher. I love being able to identify and learn about the birds around me. This app is easy to use and informative.

Backyard Birding. This is helpful as we attract more birds to our yard. It's fun and educational.

Not enough birds. While I understand it’s advertised as a backyard bird app, the number of species it considers local is too limited. For example, we get a many warbler species passing through but it limited my choices to the common species. It should have a way to override local settings to account for migrants and even vagrants and it should list all birds in the ABA database for the continental US.

Deficient and disappointing. I searched the app for a Tennessee Warbler, and it said it could not be found. I'm also disappointed that there is very little information on individual birds' songs/ calls on an app I paid $4.99 for, when I can get this info on apps that I have downloaded for free. There is no obvious benefit to this app over a couple of my free ones or less expensive ones. Don't spend the money.

Ok bird information, bad recordings of bird calls. Ok bird information but bad recordings of bird calls. Many of the bird calls are overshadowed by loud sounds of wind hitting the mic. Some sound like they were recorded under a waterfall. Had I known that I never would have bought the app.

Very good. I've struggled a bit to learn to navigate the app, but after that it's great. Lots of useful info.

Very enjoyable to use. Finally a really useful app!! Even for enthusiastic bird lovers this app provides some interesting details and great images. Especially the songs are interesting and fun to listen to! All in all: This app is very enjoyable to use!

Not good. This app has a terrible user experience with lots of tabs and unclear navigation. I kept hitting search, but turns out that's only if you already know the bird's name. You have to hit identification. There are a ton of selections for bird features which is nice but cumbersome Then when you hit search (which took a few tries cause i couldn't locate it- hint- it's in the top right and it's a check mark), it shows you birds from everywhere in America, not where you are. I live in LA, and my top match was from Maryland. My actual match was the 3rd one down, after 2 not from my region. The back button brings you to bird families, not back to your search. And you lose what you have previously selected and searched for. Really annoying. When when I did find it, the detail page was missing information I wanted, and there was no way to save it to my sightings.

Fun to use. Fun for my school age kids to help identify the birds they see. I like the search format (choose the bird shape, size, tail lengthy, etc.), and how it comes up with possibilities.

Bird lover. I live in the Mark Twin forest. When we moved here I was determined to keep alive my sister's love of birds. She could identify all the birds that came to her feeder. I wanted to be able to do the same. I also wanted to identify their song when I couldn't see the bird. By checking out the birds I see in the area and listening to the recording, I finally matched the one I hear a lot when I am working in my garden. The Eastern Phoebe is the one who calls out over and over to me as I work.

Bird crazy. Great app with all the goods. Photos are stunning, info for each bird, bird calls, & log in you're own sightings. Very nice. Worth the bucks.

An excellent guide to backyard birds. This is a nice, compact app for those interested in identifying backyard birds. For less common types you would be better off with a more comprehensive app, but this one works for our needs just fine.

Great to identify. My cat has a bird feeder on the window. And when he is looking out the window at the birds I go and see what the bird looks like. It's great to be able to put the description of the bird into the app and discover what kind of bird has been at the bird feeder. I enjoy this app and plan on using it more often now that I'm able to understand how to use it. When it says tick mark I wasn't sure what it meant. But now I know that it meant that the check mark.

BirdId. Relatively incomplete, but good photos. Let's see what time does.

Great investment!!. I invest a lot of time and money into attracting birds to my property by providing food, shelter, water, and lots of trees. I make a living photographing animals, landscapes, and birds. I love this app simply because it is very very easy to use.

I really like this app. As I spend more time outside I appreciate being able to identify the different birds I see, and learn a little about them.

Don’t waste your money. Absolutely positively a cr** app. Don’t waste your money! Worst search capability imaginable, horrible web design, impossible to maneuver within app. Bad, horrible app. Shame on ITunes for selling this - and placing it at the top when searching for bird identification apps.

Great images- my 5 year old loves to look at our feeder and point out the birds. This is a very cool app.

Love hearing the bird calls. I have many bird books, but the greatest ting about this app is being able to play the bird calls of the bird your looking at!

A wonderful resource. This app has helped me progress in my birdwatching endeavors. Instead of being frustrated in not knowing what beautiful bird I was beholding, I now have increased my "birds identified" list and feel I am learning better birding. The images in the app are very high quality and the layout and flow are designed very logically. I have identified many birds!!! Love this app.

Disappointing. This app is disappointing. It is not helpful in identifying birds. After noting features of a totally grey bird it suggested a red bird. It does not give many variations of the same species or differentiate male and female, usually quite different. Pictures of birds are in a random order with no organization.

Seriously?. This app has few birds. Only four ducks? What? I've got more than four different species sitting on the pond near my house right now. Very, very disappointed. A waste of money considering the variety that I was expecting. Guess I'll have to make do with the birds I get the app. Buyer beware

Not a helpful app. If you have zero knowledge of birds, it’s difficult to categorize what you are looking up in order to read about it on the app. Not at all user friendly for a person who is trying to learn.

Beautiful and easy to use. Nice ID tool; comprehensive. More audio files of their calls would be helpful, but this is nice and very educational; can help your kids get interested in bird watching!

Mostly excellent. I do wish the interface was a bit more intuitive (for me), but it works well and is chock full of useful information.

Great app, 5 stars!. Very easy to use and love the search option. Where I live I see many different types of birds/ducks and this app has allowed me to figure out what I'm seeing and learn more about them. Also being that you can listen to what different birds sound like on this app makes its clearer what birds are around.

Small database. There are more types of birds in our local park than are in this database. I usually can't find the bird I'm looking for here. The most recent was a mute swan. Really?

Good bird guide. I just purchased a bird book at a book store for about $26.00, this app is as good or better. The book did have more birds but I wasn't interested in the birds in Africa or other places in the world. Ben

Disappointing. Very disappointed in this app. Only one photo for most birds, and those are not accurate for birds I am familiar with. Descriptions are very brief. Cannot search with descriptive terms. Browser searches deliver much more helpful information and photos in identifying birds.

Well!!. According to this APP, there are no hummingbirds in the Southern or Southeastern US. I got this to identify the hummingbirds in my yard in Alabama.
