Micro Learning - SmartyMe Comments & Reviews 2026
The Best.. I saw my mom looking at atlases and other maps my whole life. We learned countries and capitals together as I got older. So, I have always loved geography. As a teacher for many years I stressed pure geography, knowing the map of the world’s countries and geographical features, etc! This game satisfies a desire to continue learning like no other I have tried. The information is refreshing and new and the photos add the right touch to accompany the info. I love it!
Always looking for ways to improve. I found the information presented to be on point - very relevant in today’s quick pace world. You only have a few minutes to tell your story effectively. The layout helps you to think through your plan. I believe the information is not only good for the business world - also in your personal life - same things are relevant - quick assessment of a person occurs - need to be clear, thoughtful, and provide a well thought out plan of action.
Don’t Make My Mistake…. I saw multiple ads for this app that talked about a CEO who learned to speak eloquently by using this app and the tailor made lessons for speaking with authority and presenting to C-level executives. It was enough to make me move forward and purchase the app. The process I went through made it appear as though I was going to receive a tailor made curriculum focused on public presenting and executive speaking skills - but when I opened the app, I only saw a list of many mini lessons. No customized list. I didn’t see anything related to the ad that led me to purchase. Don’t make the same mistake I did. When I let their customer service know - within 5 minutes of completing my purchase - I was told that no refund would be given. Misleading ads, poor customer service, Buyer Beware.
Good content, horrible platform. I’m extremely disappointed with my $20 purchase. Not that the content isn’t good, some of it has been very good. But imagine using a micro learning app about art masterpieces on your iPhone and being shown photos of that art and it is *tiny.* Ridiculously so! In this day and age I can’t imagine an app that has no ability to allow the user to zoom in and look more closely at different aspects of the painting that they are exploring. You just get a two postage stamp view of the grand masterpiece and best of luck seeing any of the interesting details they are pointing out. Are you all for real? Am I missing some setting or link that takes me to the art work to zoom in and look more closely at it? Ridiculous. Also beyond explanation is the feedback component at the end of each section: no place to leave written feedback? Seriously? Tells me you just want to hear how great your app is, when it isn’t. Solid content, embarrassing platform. You all can do so much better. My rating: 1/2 Star until the way users can explore the details of the paintings is updated to join the technology of this Century, this decade. It ain’t 2011 anymore.
Total Scam. I got directed to download this app because of an ads on instagram about a course of communication that found interesting. It looks like a scam from very beginning. After I clicked into this ads, it forced me to fill out a long long survey first that I want to quit many times but unfortunately didn’t do that because of sunken cost of effort I’ve already made. Then I got a payment link without a trial. It’s $10 so I think whatever and continued. After I used Apple Pay for that, it pushed me two so called “gifts” in the next two pages and mislead me to think it’s free. Then I hit yes, and immediately it charged my credit card via Apple Pay two times without asking me to confirm purchase or even showing a pay button. I don’t even think it’s legal to save customers’ Apple Pay info and mislead customers and charge the credit card without confirmation. Then guess what happened? After downloading the app and registered with same email address, I have no access to content even after I got charged. The system is just broken. Then I reached to help contact email and they just replied with useless info without solving the problem and it’s slow (got response after one day). At that time I finally confirmed the feeling that I got scammed. They just want to charge your credit card and don’t care about it after the charge. Now about the content. Without the full access I’m supposed to get, I can only have access to the first lesson of the course. The material is just bland, repetitive and obvious things without any useful insights. Totally different from a book reading experience. It feels like things thrown out from ChatGPT directly. In short, I think it’s just a total scam and they just try to collect money from instagram ads victims like me. I don’t expect they will cancel my three charges and I will directly dispute it with my credit card company. Total scam!
British Lady Voice. I saw this ad on social media and it made me go through a whole screening, asking my preferences like language, what I would like to learn, and also had me choose the voice I would like to hear for learning to personalize my account. I decided to buy the annual subscription. When I started using it I noticed the voice wasn’t the one I originally chose. It was a British lady. It felt like I was learning at Hogwarts. I tried changing the voice and it didn’t even have the option to. I contacted the company and they said they haven’t added that to their app yet and I could not manage any settings. I’m very disappointed in this app. The British lady voice makes me drown out the sound and i cannot learn.
Not Audience-Specific. I find the information in this program very generic and surface-level. For the average educated adult a high school to undergraduate level, 99% of the information contained in this would be very obvious, and it lacks depth. It doesn’t discuss anything cognitive, and it is not fluidly useful. In other words, I cant apply it broadly. I would say the content would be great in a brochure that gives background on a course. For instance “A firm handshake can leave a lasting impression” (very widely known) should be the opener to “and when greeting an authority figure, should be done so like ‘x’, but if greeting someone of the opposite sex should be done from a comfortable distance in a way that allows ‘y’ so as to not come across as ‘z’. If greeting a child, a high five is more likely to leave an impression than a hand shake”. These are just examples but this course sounds like it should be the marketing material for a much better-developed course.
My thoughts. This is pretty cool. I have a real form of ADHD and it’s hard for me to stay interested in something long enough to learn it even if i’m interested in it. These short little interactive stories aren’t too long where I loose interest but they are long enough to get too the point of the subject so that I can process it and understand what i’m trying to learn. I wish that the pages would allow you to select the text so I could have the info spoken to me but that’s only so i could still multitask while learning. But I’m sure that’s just my ADD talking LOL. I had a very wealthy mentor of mine in a business that i used to be involved in tell me “Never regret spending money on self development, tools that help your life and business and education. So if your reading this ask yourself what will it cost you if you choose not to educate yourself, Not hour much is this going to cost? Most people will spend more on coffee tomorrow or one drink at a bar then learning something that that could have empowered their life!
AI use and 7th grade writing. The use of AI in ART(!) lessons is horrifying. The irony writes itself. To use an AI generated mockery of the upcoming lesson’s subject instead of the piece of art itself is truly absurd. On top of that, the in-your-face “You’ll never believe what’s next!” writing style is something that I haven’t experienced since I last took a Buzzfeed quiz, in 2016, or maybe even a classmates presentation on beluga whales in middle school. Great idea of an app in theory, but I’ll be requesting getting my money back unfortunately. Edit- emailed to request my refund and I received and email nearly instantly from an AI SUPPORT BOT. I hope the actual humans running this thing have a hot pillow on both sides for the rest of their lives. Disgusting.
This helps. As someone who is sometimes quirky and socially awkward, and although I have a high intelligence, I can be rather aloof in communication. This app has already showed me areas that I need to work on and to improve on. I started a practice conversation with my daughter. She rated me at a 7 1/2 out of 10 because I listen too much and her fiancé rated me a Nine out of 10 so I believe at 8 1/2 is about the average. prior to starting this app, I was more at four out of 10. Kudos for this app for providing quick and efficient learning material that can be applied in normal every day life.
Bite size growth. One of the things that I appreciate about each learning module is an opportunity to have a little bit of insight to the why, warnings on what to avoid, and opportunities to put something into practice. Depending on where you are in that learning module, you can read multiple teachings or anchor down in a given session Because there’s good opportunities for growth, I would not get caught up in trying to get through “x” amount of modules this day or feel the need to be reading a new one every day. When you find that space for growth, give yourself time to better understand it.
Setup alone made me delete. I heard an ad for this, decided I wanted to see what it offers in terms of math, since it was always my strongest subject with the exception of Calculus. Downloading and creating a profile took way too long, easy 10mins wasted. I answered countless questions, did a quick assessment that said I knew more than 87% of people. Then it prompts to pay for a membership before I get to see if this is even worth my time! ( strike 1), ( strike 2) after clicking an X to end the payment options, it then goes to a screen for all of information, email, phone etc. My gosh it’s an app, can I just began with the math equations to see if this is even interesting enough to want to give out all that info, especially when the initial setup was already 10+ minutes. It feels like those fraudulent internet things that try to get you to perform tasks in hopes of earning credit. K.I.S.S. Keep it super simple or keep it simple stupid. ** Please note, I did not say setup was complicated, it is tedious, annoying, and somewhat deceptive and misleading to ask for money and all of that personal information before getting to sample the app.
Do not trust 5 star reviews. 🚨 SCAM ALERT 🚨 There is a reason why there are 1 ⭐️ star reviews. Upon seeing the ads for the app, I thought it was interesting and would help with mindless doom scrolling and maybe be slightly beneficial for my overall wellbeing. I should have trusted the 1 star reviews. If you want to waste your money. Go for it! However, I’ve had to dispute the charges as many people have stated, ❌ 1) it’s a basic app. And doesn’t work. No scientific data to back it up. It doesn’t have anything on it that would constitute spending the kind of money they are requesting. You can get the same information scrolling on tik tok. 🙄 ❌2) upon realizing this was a scam (a quick google search will show you that many people have had terrible experiences, with subscriptions and refunds… you’re not getting a refund), I’ve had to dispute the charge with my credit card company. So I’m not concerned ❌3) we are all trying to find quick routes to our goals… we just have to get back to the old fashioned way by picking up a book. People are cashing in off of our need for convenience. Do not trust this site. They will try to convince you that it was all in the terms and conditions. Don’t fall for the trap of that 30 day money back guarantee. They will not honor it.
Starts simple. I see it as a nice easy going learning curve. If you dive into it and just focus on it besides doom scrolling, you can actually learn something. It start out incredibly simple. Easily for someone who doesn’t know anything about how things work in our technological daily lives. It breaks down simple tech, explains how it works, and brings in more complex tech, and goes up from there. All the while explaining it every step of the way. Teaching you exactly analog and digital technology works. Along with a touch of simple coding language.
Feedback on Learning Structure & User Experience. Hello, I’m writing to share honest feedback about my experience using Smarty. I initially discovered the app through Instagram and TikTok ads. The advertising clearly suggested that the app would teach users how to properly use words and sound more confident; with practical examples like “Instead of saying this, say this.” That specific promise is what convinced me to subscribe. However, the actual experience feels very different. The structure resembles an audiobook rather than an interactive learning platform. While the content may be valuable, the learning process is passive. After completing Section 1, I realized I had already forgotten much of the material because there was no reinforcement, practice, or evaluation. If this is meant to be a learning application, especially a paid one, there should be interactive components. For example: • A short 10-question quiz at the end of each section. • A requirement to pass the quiz before unlocking the next section. • Practical exercises where users rewrite or complete sentences. • Progress tracking or a points-based system to increase engagement, like gems or tokens. Without these elements, it feels like I am simply listening to an audiobook breakdown in multiple sections. That is not what the advertising communicated, and it creates a disconnect between expectation and reality. For comparison, apps like Duolingo make learning engaging by requiring practice, quizzes, and progress milestones. That interactive structure ensures retention and makes the experience enjoyable. Right now, the platform feels passive rather than practical, and that has significantly reduced my engagement. I hope this feedback is helpful. I believe adding interactive reinforcement would greatly improve both user satisfaction and learning outcomes. Best regards, Ramon Mendez
AI Slop App; Not for Adults. Genuinely surprised at how awful this app is. I really have no issue with AI use, but every graphic is generated by AI, and the content itself seemed to be as well. Very annoying practice in the beginning as well where there’s a lengthy quiz to gauge what it is you want to learn, just to at the end of it ask for $60. The worst part, is that the free trial isn’t even available on that page, so the only way to get around it, is by going backward into the quiz and clicking continue again. Some of the reviews are clearly people who assumed they weren’t going to have to pay immediately (which is silly on their behalf as it is pretty clear), but for the time I used it, I feel like I would have been genuinely agitated if I had spent money on it. Do not expect to learn anything from this app if you are an adult; could be useful to a high school student AT BEST.
Dishonest Company. I enthusiastically signed up for their basic subscription, and they had a screen that upsells an additional service. The only way out of that screen is to hit the complete button which immediately charges you for the additional service. I immediately sent a letter of inquiry saying I wished to cancel that extra charge. Sent another note several days later with no response. Finally got a hold of someone and asked to cancel everything because I had a bad experience and didn’t use the service at all. They refused to refund me and here is their response: We indeed have a money-back guarantee, but it's regulated by the following conditions: (A) You have been using SmartyMe for at least 150 minutes per month within your purchased subscription, and we are able to see such minimum activity within your SmartyMe account in our tracking systems; and and (B) You contacted us within 30 (thirty) calendar days as of the purchase date (where the purchase date shall be understood as the date of validation of your first subscription payment by our servers). We would gladly help you out if there is an issue with the app or if you do not get results after following your plan. However, unfortunately, your case does not meet the criteria established in our Terms of Use and therefore, is not eligible for a refund.
First impressions, 7 seconds to make a lasting impression... I’ve been communicating for years with active listening.. It’s such a powerful tool and I’m grateful it’s included on this topic. I really locked on to asking engaging questions. That’s pivotal to me. Remembering names. I’ve know this forever and I also try to repeat their names in my first communication. But I welcome your additional techniques to ground their name in my head. I haven’t heard of mirroring their body language.. excited to experience this.. I’m very good at reading the room and adapting to their specific tone and communicating. Thanks for the tips
Lessons are quick but app needs work. Lessons are quick and to the point. Some could use a little more depth. I suggest focusing on adding additional content in the lessons if someone wants to take a deeper dive into the topic to cement the application of the lesson. The app itself is often slow to load and I have to hit the retry button almost every time I enter the app. It can also be glitchy when finishing a lesson. I suggest that the loading of the app be worked on as well as the transition to rating after the lesson is over.
1% of history.. Really disappointed with this app. Truly. You’re expecting history lessons right. Real history lessons wars, politics, religions. You expect depth on these historical cases and all you get are “microlearning” lessons that don’t actually touch on a subject. “Sometimes the founding fathers disagreed.” Okay? Why did they disagree. What did they disagree on? Anyone with common sense could tell you that they had disagreements this app can’t even tell you the basics how long did it take? What revisions were made? Why where they made? The worst part is after every lesson they offer you a “gift” of a year subscription to their service that literally doesn’t teach you anything. I want to know more about the Middle Ages more than “monks were like WiFi routers sharing information” Canceled my subscription within 15 minutes of downloading because what the actual heck.
Cost isn’t spelled out. I had to spend 5 min answering a bunch of questions just for it to tell me there’s a cost to the app. I don’t see any indication that this app cost money or has in app purchases upfront in the App Store. This review is solely based on the fact the developers chose not to indicate the cost associated with using the app upfront. I feel like they wasted my time. I would’ve preferred to decide if I wanted to spend money before they wasted my time. Makes me think less of the content behind the paywall. A tip: if you’re going to be sneaky about it, at the very least offer a trial week or month so someone can use it and decide if they like it before committing.
This app is a scam. Found this app thru IG, on the screen after choosing monthly option, theres options to add on extras or continue without adding on (my iphone has ro be forced to view whole screen) so infographics were charged additional since I noticed after the fact. I emailed support, got an immediate reply they would not renew 1 month later. I use the link provided to my site login ro register & theres, but nothing is there except 2 “infographic” pdfs. So I download the app thinking thats where all lessons would be, but the app wont show a log in or me sign in, instead wants me to create account to register & pay again! And to make matters worst, support did not cancel my subscription renewal, since it showed as Active to renew. I contacted Apple card to have this refunded.
Great but needs improvement. Love the content in this app. Would be wonderful if there were options for saving the written content or printing it. Could be more user friendly and allow options for going “back” to a course. And when you exit the app and go back in, you have to scroll all the way through the entire entirety of the different courses to get to where you left off. The app does not bring you back to where you stopped. Overall great app with great content.
I want to cancel. If I could give NO STARS, I would! I want to cancel, but I can’t because the app will not allow me to log in with the email and password I created when I made my $9.99 purchase. In my email, I was giving a link to both register and another email link to log into my account, both sends me to my App Store to open or download the app (which I’ve already have), not to log in. Each time I open the app, I’m instructed to complete the questionnaire process all over again and at the end given the option to purchase. I’ve done it all ready. Or when I select the option to login, I receive an error stating that my email or password is not valid. At this pint I simply want to cancel it, but I can’t even get into the app to do so. It’s frustrating and I want my $9.99 back too!
Rip off. I really wanted to love this app but it seems to be a scam. I don’t believe the reviews given are real. They might be real people but were paid to write them. I downloaded the app, paid for the subscription and couldn’t get access to the content. SmartyMe wasn’t smart enough to figure out how to just give me access to the content or give me a refund. When I tried to cancel, Apple wouldn’t refund my money. I had to go to the card issuer. They wouldn’t refund my money. They said Apple had to and around and around they went until I threatened to cancel the card. I am surprised the app is still available. I hope the same thing doesn’t happen to you.
Watch Out for the Billing Trap. I subscribed on the trial, used the service for a day or two, and then stopped using the app altogether. Two months later, I requested cancellation and a refund after seeing the $50 3 month renewal on my account. Customer service sought first to remind me of terms of service (which I hadn’t been updated on) and then offered a $25 refund on a service I had no plans on using for the next 3 months. I was reminded in several emails what I signed up for, and the terms. I reminded customer service that I had received no notice or reminder either of billing or updated terms (which their terms say they will do—send out an update). Either one would have served as adequate reminder of my subscription, so I could cancel. The spirit of the billing for this service is to charge customers for missing the cancellation deadline on a subscription, essentially getting them to pay for a service they won’t use.
I wish I’ve beenpresented this way the first time around. Just finished my first lesson on the Odyssey and there’s a great deal there to be learned from it. I just wish that those who were teaching Greek Classics. The first time I went to school had presented some of these thoughts in a way that was comprehensible. The institution I went to is supposed to be one of the best in the country but honestly and it might’ve been me as well. I didn’t drive as much from it as I have gotten from this one lesson.
Optimal Learning. I don’t use my phone very often but when I did I felt like I didn’t have time to do anything good for me like learning so I would generally scroll through some 5-30 second clips on Facebook or Snapchat and wait what time I had looking at whatever came up. This app gives me another option to learn about Engineering or Physics (those are the only 2 I have explored thus far). I’ve really enjoyed the lessons and they encourage critical thinking which I’ve noticed carries over into my life as I move forward with my day.
Feeling quite dumb $32 a month!! Really?. I enjoyed the $7 trial period, but didn’t realize the monthly charge would be so high and charged in two payments- 1 at $7 and the other at $25. There’s no way I can continue that! Cancelling was easy, but the app doesn’t allow you to access your payment information. Finally found your site using a google AI search because your app doesn’t link to the website. Also, no notifications at all before charging an account? No way to access the information I apparently entered? You can keep the donation of $32, which feels almost stolen from my account. While I appreciate the great content and concept, you really need to improve your transparency. Micro learning is awesome and I subscribe to other apps like Elevate and NYT audio and NYT games. Audible is more than 1/2 the price of your monthly subscription and we have audio and pdf content if available. I was able to link and request my data to be deleted. I think you’re on the way to grand and epic fail or you’ll rise to occasion to be a great app.
Great advice. Not so great execution of the lessons they tell you.. They have some really good tips in here but throughout the lessons they tell you you should do this that and the other thing but they do not pause for you to do this that the other thing. For example, during the dog training at the end of it, they tell you to take a screenshot of the checklist that they have given you, but they do not put the checklist up on the screen for you to take a screenshot of and that is just one small part of many of the lessons that there is an issue with.
Better Human Beings. Thank you for giving me the chance to share my thoughts with you. I genuinely appreciate this app. It has many wonderful benefits to makeshift changes to becoming more insightful and engaging people in our everyday conversations plus allowing us all the information to further how we think. I only wish I had come across it sooner but I am definitely making do with diligence and commitment to myself.
Scam. Within one hour of purchase I reached out to Smartyme for a refund and cancelation of services. These services were not as promised and simply this company was an imitation “Blinklist” but advertised as if it was issuing a custom/guided instruction which it does not. I was responded via email stating a cancelation would be done but I would have access for 30 days, and there would be no refund according to company policies. However, they were offering me a book of some sort. I don’t want a book - I am not impressed with the materials I saw. Also, it would be professional if emails sent from SmartyMe were sent from an actual person with contact information instead of from “SmartyMe Support Team.” Upon further research, I found that SmartyMe has done the same thing to other customers. Because the online materials I was given access to are not as promised but simply access to various topics, and that I have seeing issues (as I explained in my request for a refund), I do not have confidence in this company. If SmartyMe actually did what it presents itself to do — that would be a great find, but as per my experience it is lacking in content, professionalism and honesty.
Helped me with things I didn’t even notice!. I just started recently, first week. It has pointed out several things I have been saying and some I didn’t even realize how lame and weak they sounded and others I simply hadn’t thought of anything better to say! This app is super helpful and easy with the quick, direct to the point lessons. I actually canceled right away, I thought I’d just try the one week free and canceled so I wouldn’t forget later. Then I started doing these quick lessons and I emailed them to keep my account open!! Even if I learned one good tip - which I already have! Then it’s worth it to me. Enjoy the growth!
Scam Beware. Smartme App is a total scam. Contents are bunch of small articles collected from internet. There is not an iota of thing that they claim in their advertisement on improving communication. I am hoping to find their advt on Facebook again so that I can take a screenshot and expose these guys. Also they don’t refund even though they guarantee 30-days money back. I wish I would have taken the screenshot so that ai can file my dispute. Further Update - Here is the response I received after telling them that you are advertising 30 days return. Unfortunately, we’re unable to provide a refund as according to our Terms of Use, all purchases are final, and we do not refund any transaction once it has been made. However, as a one-time exception and in consideration of your situation, we’re able to offer a 50% refund. Looking forward to hearing about your decision and will be happy to answer any questions you may have! Guys this is their plan. They make 50% profit of something that is not even worth penny. Was hyped to try out but….. I was very hyped to try this app out as I’ve been trying to make the most of my time and learn new things financial investments, critical thinking. Once I downloaded the app I made the purchase and they charged my card. I registered, but nothing is unlocked, the app as of right now has been very glitchy and I have uninstalled and reinstalled hoping to fix the problem. I reached out to the support team. It has been about four hours and still have not heard nothing back yet. I will most likely ask for a refund and delete the app because as of right now it has not been a great experience I will update the review once the issue has been resolved.
I want to love it - but audio is a disaster. I really want to love this app because the content on ‘Communication Skills’ and ‘Speak Eloquently’ seems genuinely insightful. However, the user experience on my iPhone 16 Pro is a total disaster. The app is plagued by a major audio glitch where playback simply won’t start more than half the time. The only ‘fix’ is to force-close and restart, which leads to a second, equally frustrating issue: progress is never saved. Every time I restart to fix the audio, I’m booted back to the very first lesson. I then have to manually hunt for my topic and scroll until I find where I left off. I’ve paid for a full year and tried every standard remedy—reinstalling the app, checking background refresh, and ensuring I’m not in power saving mode—but nothing works. This is clearly a widespread technical failure that the developers are failing to address. Unless these bugs are fixed immediately, I will be requesting a full refund from Apple as the product is currently unusable.
Scam. This app is a complete scam. They run ads on Instagram to attract users and get them to subscribe to their paid learning service through their website. But after downloading the app and signing up with a paid account, you quickly realize there’s no content at all. Instead, the app tries to get you to subscribe again. At first, you might think it’s just a technical issue because the app and website look pretty legit. But when you check the “Account” section, there’s no subscription option anywhere. To make things worse, they send emails saying auto-renewal is already active. Now I’m genuinely worried about the safety of my bank account.
Content Completely Misrepresented. I was targeted with an ad, asking if I wanted to increase my knowledge of film. It asked me about camera angles, post production, and all these other things I’m interested in. I decide to take the plunge and there are literally TWO lessons about Cinema. Both of which are simply the history of cinema from the late 1800’s to the early 1900’s. None of the content was even close to what was promised. Then, once I was done with those two items, there are simply other topics like parenting and other things. I would say less than 1% of their content is related to cinema and it’s nothing you can’t get from a Google search. This app is almost a complete scam. There is content, but it’s not what was promised…not even close. Shame on you guys for tricking people like this. You probably paid to have thousands of people give this app a positive review.
There is a way to be free. Technology Will possibly save us and the reason why I mentioned that is because the smarty meet app is a technological Marvel to even the playing field for such knowledge as bringing electricity to those who were in a privative I appreciate this app and it’s developers for creating something that is truly remarkable in the fact that it can teach individuals how to save lives through technology and allow a light to be cast upon those who may have been in the dark about a wide variety of things I each and everyone of you to take the quiz and challenge yourself to learn the basic fundamentals of many different trades that will definitely be useful for the future, moving forward with AI development and basic electronics and engineering.
DO NOT PURCHASE THE APP. I’ve been getting charged every month by this company even though I never signed up for any of their services. When I reached out to resolve it, they told me they couldn’t locate any account associated with my name, email, or credit card — yet the charges keep appearing. What’s even more concerning is that they weren’t able to explain how or why these charges were happening, and I didn’t receive any real help in stopping them. I’ve had to dispute the charges through my credit card company because the business couldn’t provide answers or take responsibility. If you’re considering using this company, be cautious. Unauthorized billing and lack of support are serious issues, and I hope they fix this for future customers.
Ongoing Issues and No Response. I’ve had the app for a couple of days now, and unfortunately, it hasn’t been working properly. The audio won’t play, and I can’t move on to the next section without closing and restarting the entire app. It’s extremely glitchy and frustrating to use. That said, I really like the concept of the app—it has a lot of potential, which makes this even more disappointing. I’m sad to have to leave another negative review, especially since this is my second time doing so. I still haven’t been contacted by anyone regarding the issues, and the problems remain unresolved. I hope the developers take this feedback seriously and work on improving the app’s functionality. I’d love to come back and update my review if things get fixed.
Garbage don’t buy. The most basic of information you could get from the lead paragraph of a wiki.. Interested by some Instagram ad that said I could learn more about electrical circuits. Then scammed by the SmartyMe quiz that alluded to a deep understanding of electrical engineering but was the most basic info you learn on a first day of a high school class. Since that subject barely existed I tried giving the app a 2nd, 3rd and 4th chance at learning other subjects… pretty similar experience. Look if you wanna learn take 5 min and google something or watch a video or better yet buy a book… you don’t need this. Make something actually useful and stop trying to scam us with your dollar store startup culture ideas and ai generated targeted ads. I never write reviews and I’m a pretty chill person but the deceptive nature to get me to sign up really frustrated me.
Misleading. I purchased a subscription through an Instagram advertisement that promoted a course on speaking and communication. It wasn’t until I bought a subscription on the website that I was directed to download the app. The material on this app is nothing that was advertised. Yes, they have a few communication courses, but the title and information is not the same. You basically get a little common information about communication, but nothing special. I’m disappointed and feel mislead. There are better apps out there that provide bit size bits of information, the information on this app feels painfully obvious. I hope they stop using deceitful ads. Just advertise the app for what it is, I thought I was purchasing a full on communication course only, not this.
Mediocre learning but terrible connection issues. I was served up this app on social media and it looked polished. I’m sure it’s for some people, but unfortunately, it’s not for me. There are two main issues with this app that I’ve found (there may be more). First, much of the content is very surface level or generated elsewhere, curated by SmartyMe. That’s not a problem, except when an entire “lesson” is just videos I could find on Vimeo as an existing series, it seems unuseful to have paid $60/year to access. Second, the app doesn’t appear to function with limited or no internet connection, making It impossible to use in some situations. It would have been nice to be able to cache some content for viewing offline if it was just pulling from an online source. The lack of trial before purchasing the subscription means that I just paid $60 to find out that this app really isn’t for me.
Don't do It!- negative10 Stars. I downloaded this app because it was advertised on Instagram as a tool to enhance my intellect and provide personal growth. However, the app only offers short stories about history, art, and mental acuity, etc. The content is repetitive and does not provide any real value; it consists of information anyone who has taken a course on these subjects would already know. Additionally, to request a refund, you must first use the app for 150 minutes. After that, you will need to engage in several email exchanges to demand a refund, only to be told that you did not meet the terms of the agreement. Please do not purchase this app; fighting for a refund is not worth your time or effort!
63 years old. Just like that, things I've observed and used my whole life not knowing how they operate explained in minutes and in a way I easily understand. My wife all of a sudden thinks im a genius after 35 years. I'll start my granddaughter 3 and my grandson 4 off early in the curiosity of what make the doors open at the supermarket, and why do the nightlights turn on and off like magic. Im getting them curious about the world around them and giving simple explanations thanks to this application I'm now a genus in the eyes of those that never even thought about things like how does a rice cooker operate "my wife". I can't wait to explain my new found knowledge to my Friends at the cigar lounge. not just sports. I might be able to solve world problems soon. Peace. 🫡 USMC
Horrible Customer Service. I tried to reach out to them about the trial and how the subscription did not show on my apple subscriptions and so I was unaware of the amount I would have to pay although I have not used the app since the trial. I was a couple hours after the trial ended before I found out that I have to go through the app help to cancel my subscription instead of going through my apple subscriptions to cancel like all of the other apps. But when requesting a refund until I can figure out when I can use the app I was told no refund will be issued and I’m stuck with a 3 month subscription I won’t be able to use. I was thinking about using it during summer when I have more time but I will use any other app than one that doesn’t care about their customers.
Extremely Misleading – Not What Was Advertised at All. I rarely write reviews, but I felt compelled to warn others about Smarty Me. The app is nothing like what it was advertised to be. The promotional materials made it seem like a cutting-edge, interactive learning experience — intuitive, fun, and packed with educational value. In reality, it’s a poorly designed, clunky app with minimal useful content and a frustrating user interface. The features that were highlighted in the ads are either non-existent or locked behind vague paywalls. The user experience feels unfinished and far from engaging — especially considering the high expectations they set. It honestly feels like bait-and-switch marketing. Save yourself the time, money, and frustration. There are far better and more transparent options out there. Smarty Me needs a serious overhaul — both in honesty and functionality.
Very Misleading!!!. As soon as I downloaded the app, I quickly realized this was not something that I would be interested in. It’s very outdated, antiquated and is like stepping back into your elementary history lessons. I reached out to them for a refund within 30 min of purchasing based on their 90 day moneyback guarantee listed, they told me they would only refund if i can prove 150 minutes of use and you have to request the refund within 30 days of purchasing. So if you ask at the 60 day mark it would be a no, which negates the 90 day money back guarantee. They did offer a 50% back refund without having to do the 150 minutes of work within the app. I have yet to be credited so we shall see.
Lack of Full Disclosure. Based on information collected I expected daily reading assignments 5-10 minutes a day. However, there is a plethora of information to read on different subjects with a timer for one to choose from. I requested cancellation and refund. Their response is that their no refund policy is within their terms of use. My next step is to contact Visa, and the FTC. ********************************************* I read your dismissive response to my review and attempt to categorize it as emotional to further downgrade the review above. It’s obvious that you will go to any length to keep every bit of money you obtain. Therefore your interest is more in money than in helping people, which the app/marketing portrays. However, here is a service connected disabled veteran living on disability scratching to find a way to improve his life. This app isn’t for me. Lastly, you attempt to move this conversation offline, so no one else is privy to it.
Did you know that you can earn 25 USD from our site just by registering? Get $25 for free by joining Payoneer!
Don’t bother downloading. I saw an ad on Instagram for this app and I downloaded it prepared to pay a subscription but it wouldn’t load past the final registration page. Thankful I found this page (tytamhykwya)
Timewasters. As stated by previous reviewers. Waste of time. Misleading.
They steal your money.. I subscribed and paid. They then took another $15 USD in addition right away, that I did not give them permission to do. And I can’t even login to access the app.
Subscription Scam take it off the App Store. Once you sign up there is no way to cancel your subscription. Any messages to the support email address are ignored. Complete scam. This app should be removed from the App Store
Scam. App is poor and they continue to debit my account unauthorised
Scam!. They charged twice on my account without my authorisation on the second transaction.
Scam - don’t use this app. Paid for a month subscription on apple - app doesn’t recognise this and I can’t access what I paid for. Numerous emails to the app and still no solution.
Watch out for hidden renewal. I bought what was advertised through Instagram as four-weeks access to content in this app for a flat fee. Nowhere did it say anything about it being an auto renewing subscription until I’d already signed up and received an email telling me I’d agreed to auto renew at a much higher monthly rate. Very misleading. The content is actually quite interesting though.
Very underwhelming. Super underwhelming app. Just go on Wikipedia
Disclose the price. It’s free to download. Then you complete a long survey and have to pay $15/m to access any lessons. Disclose the price up front, absolutely nothing is free
YOU ARE THIEVES!!!. Only authorised one payment of 16.11(AUD) to get this app, they ended up charging my card 2 transactions of 16.11 and another for 23.52AUD AND WHEN I EMAILED FOR REFUND FOR THE 2 EXTRA CHARGES THEY SAID ALL CHARGES ARE FINAL. SO DON’T EVER GET THIS APP OR ANYTHING THIS COMPANY OFFERS, THEY ARE THIEVES!
Dont purchase ANYTHING!. Wanted to cancel my subscription over a month already and no reply has been made on this. Constant follow ups completely ignored, i feel scammed and robbed. They continue charging me monthly and cant stop it! They charge for every lesson On Top of whatever plan you buy . There is no 0 starts option here otherwise i will give them -10
Scam. Charged my account instantly without notifying any charges..read reviews & contacted bank. So frustrating.
Scam. You pay once, then you fill the form again and then try and charge a monthly fee to open the App absolute scam don’t do it
SCAM!. This app should be taken down. Signed up, downloaded app and there is zero way to sign in after payment. This app is a scam!
SCAM WARNING - THE APP WILL NOT LET YOU CREATE AN ACCOUNT.. THE APP IS A SCAM, IT DOESN’T WORK DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY, PLEASE LEARN FROM MY MISTAKE.
Not sure. Pressed to join for a month but received nothing…have grave doubts…would like to cancel and think again…please cancel
Cannot cancel the subscription because I can’t sign in. New user. Cannot sign in although I have paid already. How do I cancel my subscription if I cannot sign in.
Scam app. I mistakenly bought this app after after seeing an ad on instagram. After realising the “courses” were all the same content, I was then kicked out of the app and all emails to reset password were ignored. Am trying to get a refund out of Apple now but not holding breath
App lacks ability to cancel subscription. Currently no mechanism within the app to cancel the subscription and cancel renewal. you have to email app owner and request this. They may, or may not, comply with request. This is not cool
Charged twice and still can’t open the app. I filled out the initial questionnaire but when I try to log in the app asks me to keep filling in the questionnaire again as if I haven’t and I’ve been charged twice. How do I cancel this??

Almost good but not. I don’t think the developers understand that it’s highly likely that their demographic for this app is students(which don’t have a lot of spendable income). Overall the app has a good idea but executes it poorly. I had the idea that there would be interactive exercises in the app for mathematics. Then when I was going through the exercise it was essentially just words out of a textbook with minimal examples. Just seems like very lazy execution that no one in their right mind would pay 80 dollars a year for. It should be a one time payment and the quality of the app should be increased ten fold.
Terrible - I feel scammed. This is meant for grade 5 students
Scam. I just threw this hot mess of an app $20 of my hard earned money and I can’t access anything. There’s no way to get a hold of anybody either. I am so outraged.
Do not purchase/scam. Payment was processed with no access to app and no answer to any attempt to contact to fix. This a scam.
Pure scam, very low quality content and no way to unsubscribe. After paying the advertised 9.99 they hike the price to 24.99 and ignore your requests to unsubscribe. The only way how to contact is email. Stay away if you do not want to be forced cancelling your credit card
SCAM. Charged me twice and wont let me log in!
Scam scam scam. Horrible app, remedial ‘lessons’ you can google in 5 seconds, they over charge you card and then refuse refunds, constsntly push worthless add ons, customer service sucks. Stay as far away as you can
Log in. Worst app. Can’t log in, and can’t contact “them” for support. And I paid for this???? Grrr
Don’t waste your time!. Hi, I registered and paid my subscription for this app (12.99$) 3 days ago, was billed and I cannot even access my paid content ? Tech support are useless and will not help!
FRAUD!!!. They keep charging fees and deleted my user!
Deleted. App wasn’t functioning. Deleted
Scam. I subscribed for $9.99 for two weeks, but I was charged additional fees through Apple and couldn’t access any content. The service prompted me to make further monthly purchases to continue, and I realized I couldn’t do anything without paying for these extras. They informed me that I could keep my account active until my subscription expired, but I still had no access to anything. Essentially, I feel like I'm paying for nothing. If I could give zero stars, I would, but the lowest rating available is one star. Please be cautious of this situation.
It’s a scam. Right from the beginning, they want to charge you a hefty monthly fee. I deleted the app because I felt like I was tricked.
Scammed. Can not cancel my subscription. I wrote to so called “support team “ they replying with automatic silly messages with no helping. I feel scammed and have to block my card.
Scam. The idea is great but the interface is designed to trick you to buy more as you progress feed through answering the questions which is really unethical. To cancel subscription, you have to email the support team and hope for the best. Don’t waste your money.
FRAUD ALERT. Be careful. I wanted to try the app, a one-time purchase for a month, for 28.31CAD. I was charged another 20CAD for Infographics, which I did not agree to. It just appeared right after I clicked ok for the one month subscription. I wrote them an email for a full refund, because I was not happy that they charged me without permission, and this is the answer I got; They want to refund only half of my money, which is just not acceptable. They also told me I had agreed to a 3 month subscription, which was also false. So BE CAREFUL!
Scam. This app instantly charged me upon download despite advertising a one month free period. Should've read the reviews first, what a scam.
Scam. Do not waste your time or money. The 4+ star reviews are complete lies. This application should be avoided at all costs. There are way better options.
The app is a scam. This app does not work. You click on any button, nothing responds ever.
Videos?. If your the type that doesn’t like to read this would be more challenging.
Great idea, falls short. Seemed like a great idea, not all it seemed to be, lost interest. Didn’t sign up but somehow was billed for subscription.
Feeling Scammed. Loved the idea of the app which was advertised through my instagram where I purchased for $20 an extended several week membership then was directly asked if I wanted to include extra learning programs, I accepted not realizing they cost me an extra $40 so I skipped the last offer and was told I’d receive an email to finish setting up my account. I never received the email and can’t find any way of contacting anyone for support from the company so I may have to cancel my credit card to ensure I don’t get extra charges from them. Silly me.
Scam. App charges twice and didn’t provide login information, did not return email for support
Disappointingly Basic Content. Not worth it. The content is overly simplistic and feels almost insulting to anyone looking to learn something meaningful.
SCAM!!!. Can’t even sign in! I paid a subscription thru FB & didn’t receive any sort of email to get started. Opened the App. Start sign in process… selected ‘forgot password’ since there’s no other way to start up. Never received the email promised providing the one-time code. 0/5 stars. Colossal waste of my time & money.
Scam. Scam - don't fall for this
Too complicated. Ya this is pretty much Wikipedia just copied and pasted over. Not engaging, lost me right away. Fell for the one month I guess.
Not the best content. The app works OK but it is not the best content. It would be nice to be able to start learning at the appropriate level rather than starting from the very basics every time. Some of the content repeats within a lesson, not sure if this is intended but it can be frustrating
Scammed. I too accessed this app from instagram, paid the money and never received the email with the log in information. There is no means of contacting anyone to get support. Don’t purchase!!
No refund available. Bought it thinking that it was going to be professional looking and only about the subject that I’ve chosen (art). I was wrong. Not worth it. Maybe for kids?!
Don’t take it, it’s kinda robbery in modern way. I paid for subscription but without even I know they took extra money about $26 from my account then I noticed it in my bank transactions . I let them know about it but they don’t gave refund for it.
Scam. make sure you cancel your subscription cause they charge you again
SCAM. It just took $25 from me to never work. Do not waste your time here. The idea is good but a complete scam.
Not free. Be ready to pay!. Nothing as advertised. They just want your payment info. Amazing that developers would dedicate time and resources creating an app that will be dropped by users upon first launch.

very shallow and westernized. “How did Egyptians do mummification without technology?” Next lesson “The Egyptians used technology to build pyramids” Other issues, the lesson on why the noses of Egyptian statues were broken discusses Egyptians views of the noses holding the spirits. This is not factual. There are no written records of this belief and is a western made of fantasy. So the Egyptians build statues, and sphinx with broad noses and after that hard work they destroyed the noses? So far I am struggling with the conflicting and shallowness of the history of Egypt and I am hoping the other lessons are more honest and thought out.
Be careful!. I set up my account trying to get a trial but instead I “accidentally “ ended up buying more than one item and with no chance to cancel it. The add on items get on your face without any clear explanation that it will add up to the price of the subscription. I was trying to get out of the page but there was not exit button other than clicking on accept add on which than costed $20 more and thankfully I stopped clicking before getting lots of more add ons. It’s a tricky way to hook you up into several subscriptions that will steal your money.
Vocab and speech. I really enjoyed reading this lesson and taking part in the exercises. Some of these things I already knew and just needed confirmation, but there were new areas I had no idea that were just as important if not more. I find this information very valuable in self improvement and being a great speaker in public. I’m excited to learn more and become better in everything I do.
Don’t sign up for free account first. After buying a membership, I’m still waiting for access. They can’t apply a membership to a free account. Which seems sketchy. I just wanted to try it before I bought it, kind of the point of a trail period right? Anyways they are saying they can’t refund me bc I haven’t completed the registration process but the registration can’t be completed because I already have an account…again sketchy. I just want to be done with this company but really feel like I should get a refund if they can’t honor their services.
Absolutely the worst app and customer service. Stay away.. I subscribed, but the app software didn’t recognize my subscription, even though it showed as active in my App Store. I contacted the app developer’s customer service, and they couldn’t have cared less—possibly the least helpful support ever. They told me to contact Apple since my subscription was through the App Store. Apple looked into it and confirmed it was an issue with the app developer, not Apple. After several troubleshooting attempts, nothing worked. Apple refunded me, but I wasted an hour of my time. Don’t waste your time or money on this junk.
Started in the middle of the review in my opinion…... Too deep of a dive. To start I’d rather start with more info about the individual artist. There history, the styles being done at that time showing famous works & then the subject of individual artists works. The lesson points out interesting aspects in the painting. But I need more info before doing the deep dive into hidden signs. I need more info of the artist, the general info of the painting before hidden meanings. Also, it would be nice to include what museum it belongs too.
Prematurely launched?. I had high expectations for this app after taking the learning quiz on the developer’s website. I am overall disappointed that the app is missing some daily learning features to make it user friendly. For instance, I have to navigate for a while to get to the lesson where I left off. I also think it would be great to have notifications or a time keeper that tell the user if they have met their daily learning goal. For the price I paid, this is not worth it.
DECEPTIVE "Guarantee" — Read the fine print before you pay!. Be warned: SmartyMe’s "30-Day Money-Back Guarantee" is a total trap. They advertise a guarantee to get you to subscribe, but their terms and conditions make it almost impossible to actually get a refund. To qualify, you are forced to use the app for at least 150 minutes in the first month. If you realize the app is low quality after 10 minutes and want out, they will DENY your refund because you didn't "use it enough." This is a predatory tactic designed to keep your money regardless of your satisfaction. It is a "dark pattern" intended to trick consumers. Save your money and find a more transparent app.
Fake money back guarantee. I contacted the support. They refused to refund my money back. Because this purchase was somehow not through the app store I can’t get a refund in the app store refund window period. They hide stipulations in the terms and conditions. I tried to get a refund after 2 days of using the app. It was not the app I expected and with my learning disabilities I found this type of learning was not for me. No longer going to purchase any apps or ads without going directly through the app store as there are nefarious developers trying to scam people out of money with misleading point of sale messages.
Books or Courses. I am really enjoying the app, it’s easy to navigate and has a lot of content. I went with the key insights from top books option and it has so many books to choose from. However, I do wonder if there is any way to get both the books and the courses. Or would I need to create a seperate account to access the courses?
Careful- lots of extra charges hit my card from this app on day 1. Bought the membership. Opened the app. Browsed the app. Got two additional $9.95 charges within 10 minutes. No notifications or confirmations, no posted prices about being charged for browsing . I’m no stranger to apps or to clickbait and am very careful- but this was sketchy. I wrote right after this happened on the day of purchase, and they said no refunds for “purchases” made. Does anyone know how to report this? I know they have to make you aware you are actually making a purchase and post prices, right?
Please stop scamming people. I was scrolling in social media and an advertisement of this app came up and i got interested and click on learned more then decided to purchase a subscription for a month for $9 and then it was asking me to do something else without clearly indicated that I was going to be charged again for $19 for another subscription?! Like what! Eventually you will get your karma for scamming a lot of people. Please change your morals Smartyme. So many Bad reviews about this and still haven’t gotten anything done about it. Where is your conscience.
Growth, Knowledge informative, in all areas of life!. Book summaries for a quick lesson and spare of the moment/free time educational reading. They offer a wide variety of informative information, daily tips and tasks to help in every aspects of life. That’s what makes book summaries enjoyable plus it’s helping with my self-development skills and everyday life. These Books summaries are good and leaving me wanting more wishing it was an options to read the entire book right then and there.
Easy to assimilate. But I feel as if many of the lessons are at a middle school level, and as a college-educated person, 72 years old, I’m feeling short on new content, or anything that goes beneath the surface. Readers are engaging if a bit on the rah-rah, wow “what comes next?” end of the lecture spectrum. I found the podcast-style presentations to be more compelling. In those lessons, I felt a reasonably adult connection to the material. Less scripted, more authentic. Keep on keeping on! There’s a place for everyone in the educational tent. BTW, I am a teacher.
Slow clunky and misleading. I paid for this app yesterday and it is not what they represent. It says it mimics social media and scrolling but with learning and self help videos- so far, it takes for ever to load, it’s not videos, but rather reading, is not interactive (ie take this quiz, but don’t answer on the quiz- remember in your head) and it takes forever to load or times out in the process. I understand this might be their mvp but it’s misleading and not what the videos represent. Should still be free at this level and I’d like a refund if available. Not what I thought I was paying for.
Great way to learn basic info. I like how they try to keep you engaged with the lessons, they really put in the work with this app, you won’t become a Genius with it alone though, you need to take notes and practice what you learn in the real world. I would love to have more real life scenarios and examples. Makes it more fun and interesting.
Huck and Jim. My mom child bride mother read this book to her first four children in the late fifties. How did she know about this book? When I think of listening to this story told in my mother’s voice all the many years later I again feel blessed. How did a young woman find her way to outstanding literature and make time to read to her children? This was only one of the many books she read out loud to us each evening.
Thank You. This is the type of content that should be required for summer reading. Add a self correcting quiz at the end and it’s a fantastic tool for earning educational credit for work environments that require it. Can’t say enough how much I love this app. Being able to customize the voice would be a great option.
Love the lessons!. The SmartyMe lessons are short, interesting and well-written. They quickly get right to the point and convey valuable information that is easy to understand and extremely informative. There are also many interesting topics to choose from and I look forward to accessing the lessons each day. I am thoroughly enjoying my learning path with SmartyMe!
Not what I was hoping for. I assumed this would be a game based learning tool, something that was similar to flash cards or Duolingo with questions and answers. The robotic voice is annoying so you end up reading the content which I can do without the app. This app is not for sophisticated people who are already aware of these basic points. They have decent information for beginners maybe teens and young adults, but it’s too shallow and doesn’t have advanced learning tools. I did learn to do more research before I spend money.
Poor quality. This app is mainly AI reading scripts. The learning path is chosen for you and you are not able to explore the library independently of the path chosen for you. You are not able to change the voice of the AI voice that is reading to you. I did not prefer the voice in the app and found no way to change it. Overall, I found very limited value in this app and I’m glad that I only signed up to try it for one month. Definitely not enough content that dives deep enough and has real impact to last more than a week or so for me.
Scam and rip off!. Buyer beware! Don’t click anywhere when you’re creating an account for this app. This shady app will have you pay for the subscription you want, and then prompt you to “add” additional features without any indication of the increase in price. Additionally, it’s set up in a way that they don’t have you authorize the secondary transactions and then suddenly you’re charged without consent. Don’t bother emailing them either, because they won’t refund you. Total garbage and not worth your time or money. I wish I could give it zero stars.
This so keeps trying to charge me for a subscription I never signed up for!. I’ve never used this app nor have I ever signed up for their subscription, though it keeps trying to charge my card! Thankfully, I have not authorized it so it’s automatically declining, but I have to keep a watch out for since the app keeps sending it through even though I don’t even have the app on my phone! Don’t know if it’s a good app or not, but I can tell you the fact that it keeps trying to charge my credit card without my authorization tells me it’s a shady business😒
Don’t waste your money.. I purchased the 4 week subscription to see if I liked the app better than the other ones I used. I completed my first course on WWII yesterday. When I went to do part 2 today, I was informed if I wanted access to the next lessons I had to upgrade for another $65. I canceled and asked for a refund as I had only had this app for a couple days (bc my login would not work so I needed tech support to even get set up). They refused so I’m just out the money and access to the lessons. Save your money and download Nibble instead. I feel scammed. If I could give zero stars I would.
Love this app and its content!. If you have a self development mindset, this app is perfect!! Especially, if you are super busy and don’t have time to take hour long classes…. I’m listening to these micro learnings when I’m on my way to work, or walking my dog, and I can go back to any section whenever. Love it!! The lessons are structured well, have very useful, practical and actionable content. Definitely recommend!!
Really enjoying!. I haven’t thought about math for decades and I was inspired because I found myself at 55, scrolling mindlessly for about an hour a day and thought ‘I could spend this time doing something more engaging’. So calculus is my starting point and already I understand concepts that I found hard to grasp in my 20’s. I can’t wait to impress my physicist dad with my new knowledge. The app is really great.
Deceiving!. I got an ad for this app on Instagram and it had me do a personalized quiz. It showed images of a customized learning course based on my results. Well, I paid the $20 and the app is nothing like this!!! There is no custom learning course. It just a bunch of random mini courses by various topics and it’s very hard to parse out which courses would be most relevant to you and help you meet your goals. They also say there is 30 day money back guarantee but you have to complete 150 min in the app in the 30 days to get your money back. I reached out for a refund within an hour and they would not refund me. This app is deceiving! Do not believe their ads.
Engaging and fun for any age. SmartyMe is engaging, practical, and a fun tool to learn how to speak with confidence. It helps to realign your words with confidence when speaking to people. The audible and read along helped me absorb the topics easily. The interactive games helped remove fillers I tend to overuse. Thanks to SmartyMe daily study, I am able to rebuild my thoughts, words, and confidence. I am excited to see how my world changes with lessons from SmartyMe.
Great for building communication confidence!. If you've ever struggled to find the right words or start a conversation, this app is for you. I’ve been using it for a week and love the short, foundational lessons. The variety of topics keeps me eager to learn more. I highly recommend this to any professional or anyone looking to boost their communication skills and confidence!
Loves how this help me grow!. I’ve been using Smartyme for a while now, and I have to say, it’s one of the most thoughtfully designed apps for personal growth and learning. What really stood out to me is the finances section. As someone who’s passionate about managing money wisely, I found this part of the app both informative and inspiring. I recommend it to everyone I know!
Smarty Me. This Apps content is simple and can even appear as grade school at times, but this is also the aspect that makes it comfortable to digest for people who literally need/want a review of a robust amount of material they had to cram down while back in school. For the ones that are advanced historians with history degrees and professions, this may not be for them. SmartyMe App has its own little niche amongst learning Apps.
Great content. This app has great content, but I was highly disappointed when I realized it wasn’t videos. Replacing mindless scrolling on social media isn’t exactly what’s happening when you engage in this app. There is a lot of active reading so videos would be wonderful! Putting the content to videos and having people that you can watch versus taking the energy to read would be so much more in line with learning for most people, plus it’s what we are innately doing as we scroll on social media.
Don’t Trust Them. SmartyMe is not what they claim when one first signs up. One is led to believe through their survey that some form of custom learning opportunities are going to be created based upon one’s responses. That is not the case. It is simply to collect your data, and you’re left on your own once inside the app. Of course, all this happens after they’ve got your money. Even if you want your money back after one realizes how they operate, you’re paid through the next month. No refunds for their bait and switch. This is a good reminder to purchase goods after services are rendered instead of upon a false expectation.
No free trial. Hi! I’m an art student, so I was really excited to try out this app. But after downloading it, I had to fill out a long questionnaire, and at the end, it asked me to pay for a full subscription right away. I was hoping there would be at least a short free trial—maybe three days—to test it out first. As a student, I can’t afford to spend money on something before I know if I’ll actually like it or learn from it. I ended up deleting the app, which is a shame because it looks really cool. I’d definitely recommend offering a free trial so people like me can experience it before committing!
A fun and easy way to learn. This was a great change of pace from either listening to music, zoning out while watching tv, or doom scrolling. I was able to get small hits of dopamine while also learning useful information. I can imagine how using this app could help me display higher levels of intelligence in conversation, and have knowledge that is applicable to the real world in my Arsenal. Im happy I gave it a chance.
Very surface level. This app is right on track for what I’m looking for to prevent doomscrolling and to learn and read more. Though the topics are very interesting, they are extremely surface level. I understand it to be bite sized information but this is merely a crumb. On top of this the reviews and conclusions supplied are very redundant, considering the little information supplied. I think there should be at least two to three more pieces of information per lesson and only a singular recap/conclusion slide. Not sure I will keep my subscription and may look else where.
Scam- only works with annual membership. AVOID THIS APP! I’m not the only person with this issue. Not knowing how the app will perform or the quality of it, I opted for the monthly plan in lieu of prepaying annually. Every screen I opened autoprompted an offer for a discounted annual fee. Only the initial practice was available to view, everything else was locked unless I paid $65 upfront. When I reached out to support, they told me to delete the app, download again enter a new email. This would require yet another subscription fee. I’m not the first, read reviews and support page.
NOT INTERACTIVE. This app has a series of small lessons on various topics. While some of the information may be useful, much of it is generic or superficial. It’s NOT interactive learning AT ALL. Each lesson has the option for the user to read it to themselves or to have an audio track with a robot voice reading it to them. There are no interactive modules or quizzes to reinforce the learning. Why do I even need an app for this? I can just look all these things up on the Internet and have it read to me or read it to myself. I canceled my subscription after using the app for about five minutes.
If I could give 0 stars, I would.. I paid the initial $6 to try SmartyMe and gave it a fair shot for two days. I didn’t like the app, so I cancelled the subscription on the third day. Eight days later, I find out they charged me $24 anyway. I reached out to customer support expecting a simple fix, and instead they told me that I “just cancelled” and they can’t refund me. That’s simply not true — I cancelled well before the renewal date. Their response felt dismissive and completely unhelpful. This feels like deceptive billing and a terrible customer experience. I would absolutely give 0 stars if that were an option.
Misleading, Low-Quality Content — Don’t Fall It. If you’ve made it through grade school or know how to use Google, you’ll find nothing of real value here. The “lessons” are painfully basic and offer little substance. Be warned: although they advertise a 30-day money-back guarantee, it comes with a catch — you must complete exactly 150 minutes of “training,” no more, no less, or you forfeit your refund. On top of that, they incentivize positive reviews by offering partial refunds for 5-star ratings, which explains the misleading app rating. It’s a complete joke. Save your time and money.
Rip Off. Couldn’t register after I paid the initial fee and then there were add-ons that popped up and I mistakenly accepted and my chard was charged. I asked for refund and they said no refunds. I asked to reset my password twice and never received the email to do so. I asked for a refund again and they said I had to log 150 minutes of trying their product before any refund issued. I told them I couldn’t log in to use their product for 150 hours because they wouldn’t reset my password. Ended up getting 50% refund for a product I never used. TOTAL RIPOFF.
Registration Not Possible. I have tried to create an account on this app 5 times in as many days and after all the questions it just spins and I can’t register. I have contacted customer service and explained the issue and over and over they say “we don’t see an account under your email, without a credit card number or an email we cannot help.” And I keep saying no the problem is I can’t get an account. And they just say the same thing again. It’s like talking to a wall. I doubt I’m the only person having this problem. They won’t be in business long if no one can sign up. Ridiculous.
Expensive and lacking. I wish this was a family sharing enabled app. I don’t have a lot of spare time. So I wish I could share this. It’s too expensive. I also wish more lessons were on audio. I am very busy, I can play stuff in background if it was. It makes this app very limited for me. Need more variety also. Maybe like lessons in mindfulness or meditation since it talks about that. Or maybe something on health, dieting, exercising. This has some stuff, pretty basic. But could be so much more.
Basic info and no search function. There are a large number of interesting topics available, but in most cases, the lessons are less informative than a Wikipedia page. For example- there’s a lesson on investing in stocks. It’s extremely basic. In the lesson it actually advises the reader to research what stocks are and gives no resources for doing so. Meanwhile the finally recap says “you’re now equipped to make your money work smarter.” It would also be nice if you could search for a thing you might want to learn about instead of scrolling through lists and wondering if they exist.
This app is a scam. I strongly do not recommend purchasing this app. I downloaded and agreed to paying 9.99 for the app and somehow I was misled to consent to 2 other charges that were not clear or apparent. It didn’t feel like it was an option to bypass those options so when I clicked continue, apparently this consent the charge. I’m very disappointed and frustrated. This type of business is unethical. At this time, I’m waiting and hoping the company will reimburse me for the charges I did not approve. If this is not the outcome, I will escalate. Do not download this app. It has nothing to do with public speaking
Surprisingly captivating. I finally took the time to read some of the small lessons chosen for me on this app. I am pleasantly surprised at how engaging and informative the pieces are. I stopped to write this review, but will go back to continue learning. It is thoroughly refreshing to exercise my mind with thought provoking material rather than mindless scrolling. Nice job, Smarty Me! And, thank you!
Professional growth. I’ve made a lot of professional growth in staying focused and spending just 15-20 minutes every morning on the app. Cannot wait to continue my journey. I would suggest they have different careers as examples, instead of the office setting, office meetings, and office speeches. Use careers like, bankers, restaurant managers, food service industries, supermarkets, Home Depot, ect.
Premature Rating Request. I was really disappointed with the onboarding experience. Before I even finished signing up or using the app, it pushed a rating request in a modal that hid the pricing. On top of that, it asked an excessive number of onboarding questions and then EMAILED the “results” to me instead of showing them INSIDE the app. It felt premature and intrusive. What bothered me even more was the very first question: “Are you Male or Female?” with no other options. At the very least, there should be a “Prefer not to say” choice. It’s 2026 and on the cusp of AI revolution, so apps should be more thoughtful on user privacy. Overall, the experience felt pushy, incomplete, and not user-friendly.
Tried it for a week, was charged $67. I signed up for what I believed was a one week trial, and was immediately charged $27. Then, just one week later, I was charged under $40 for a monthly renewal without any clear warning a reminder. The pricing and subscription terms are misleading. $67 within a week of signing up. 😬 The actual content was also disappointing, it felt like watered down “for dummies” style summaries, paired with mediocre AI generated illustrations that didn’t add much value. Overall, the app did not feel worth the cost. Be very careful, just trying out this app is crazy expensive.
Fraudulent charges when signing up for free trial. I recently signed up for a free trial, which should be a four week free trial. I was then charged for the trial immediately, and I was also charged for an infographic. I sent the company an email telling them that they have an opportunity to refund the money before I involve my bank. This looks like a fantastic app that I was interested in using until the deceptive practices started rather immediately. I will still leave a warning review, but I will change my review if these charges are refunded promptly.
