Incredibly well designed and feature-rich. If only every app were so thoughtfully built. It has practically everything I’ve been looking for in a news aggregator: thoughtful, dynamic summaries showing perspectives on a story, easy access to sources, fine grained tools for adjusting preferences, the ability to read or listen to most of the content. Please add a paid or subscription version, maybe with access to more sources or the ability to log into other sources.

Appreciation would be less for this app. I just want to take a time and appreciate this app maker. Has what I need so every other news app that I was using earlier always had these ads and doesn’t have the AI included in that and this particle news is just you know it made my life easy to know the news and it also has this feature to play the news. I didn’t see any of these features like the 5WS explaining to a person who is just five years old. Just summarising the actual news. It’s just perfect. Thank you. Thanks a lot.

The only way to get the news.. I can’t use any other news apps now. Clear, concise, bullets for each article with transparent views of article resources and their leanings. And ways to refine your feed so it’s customized to you. Best new app I’ve used in a long time.

Unprecedented Ability to Customize Newsfeed. I have always hated that royal family drama and national crises were both considered “breaking news.” Particle News gives you minute control over what content you want to see. The political spectrum of each news source at the top of each digest is always such a great feature that is often overlooked. Love the concept, and the execution thus far! I really hope the app continues to be successful.

Love the App !. I absolutely love the app, I use it almost everyday and get news that I like. I enjoy it more than I enjoy apple news or any other app I have used in the past. It has amazing features such as read like I’m 5 and an overview feature, which summarizes the important aspects of the news that u are reading about .

The Best News App for iOS.. This app is HANDS DOWN the most streamlined, objective, no-nonsense news presentation app that’s ever been released for Apple products. There are NO ADS. The app rarely includes qualifiers, or intensifying language to summarize the aggregation of news data that is being presented. Virtually FREE of hyperbole. This is the definitive answer to news corporations with an agenda or a desire to steer your potential pathological triggers into any particular narrative. Particle is a media presentation that doesn’t instill outrage or speculative nomenclature designed to stir up an emotive or moralistic reaction. This is a straight up and WONDERFULLY BALANCED app that would certainly merit my extra dollars if indeed it had a pay wall or subscription revenue model. (It doesn’t feature this.) Particle News is FREE, and inarguably the best news app for concerned readers.

Unstable Biz Model?. This is bar far the best news app I’ve ever seen. No ads, customized preferences, political bias spectrums, lighthearted focus, beautiful interface, ease of use, recently viewed, AI integration — all fantastic. But it’s not sustainable. I don’t trust it will be here in 6 months because there’s no revenue generation. Ads, subscriptions, and/or data farming are coming.

Be forced to see political content. It doesn’t matter how many times I select “don’t want” for any government related articles I see, I’m still forced to see Trump’s face and far-right extremist salutes. As a disabled veteran with mental health struggles, I was really hoping that I could have a source of unbiased news. I actually love the app otherwise. The overviews are great. The information seems accurate. The ability to ask questions that are answered with references is delightful. I’m not quitting the app. I just don’t open it unless I have the mental energy to be forced to see things I flatly don’t want to see when I just want to see scientific development, art and entertainment, etc. Even if they were to put all the content I vehemently don’t want to be confronted with after the “there be dragons” (great feature) break, I’d be happy. Please fix this. I’m tired of being livid, and my disability prevents me from being able to regulate normally. It’s exhausting, and this app is currently contributing to my distress.

Great user experience for news reading. I like the way they design this app and enhance the overall news browsing experience . Huge plus is that the have iPad app which is great for even better user experience

Great, one small feature request. Love the app, very easy to use and customized to what I like. One feature suggestion: I would like to be able to select different summary styles for different topics. For example, with politics i would like to see the different sides, but for tech news ELI5. Once again, great app.

Game changer. One of the best news app I ever had and the audio option comes handy. It’s clean with minimalist design. Highly recommend it if you just want to stay upto date and anyone who wants to listen while driving.

Best News App Ever tried. I have tried multiple news app and have found some useful (mainly tested Ai news apps) and even some that later got shot down and felt like those were the best. But this one is officially the best one I have ever tried and probably will be the last. It has Ai summaries with multiple options, a useful topic interest selector, very high quality design, voice mode for the news that is continuous, tells you all the articles about a news story, each political party view in that story, lets you write questions about that story for others to read… I can keep going…

A high watermark for news apps. This app has been amazing so far. It summarizes content in very straightforward ways if I want to get a quick read in. It has bias checking features for politically motivated outlets, and you can even have it summarize bother political sides of the story. On top of all of that, it has a fantastic AI text to speech wrap-up every day. It sounds great. It’s like having my own curated news podcast that only covers what I care about. If all of that wasn’t enough, it has this incredible “questions” feature. You can engage with any article/story with questions. It’ll show the question and answer publicly. That way, everyone on the app can benefit from each other’s curiosity. Top tier app experience so far. Love it.

Particle is what Apple News tried to be.. The most comprehensive topic cluster that actually allows you to tune your news to your liking. I’d wish they balance between left and right to present a more holistic view, but I can see why that’d be next to impossible

The perfect news app. I thought it was going to be just another news app but it is not. It’s just perfect. Wonderfully designed, clean and elegant, easy to read and offering different perspectives on the same story. It’s a ten out of ten.

Easily the best news platform ever created. Between the UI, endless feed customization options, succinct overviews and political leaning scale, this app is exactly what I said in the title. I highly recommend spending the time and really fine tuning your content preferences. I took about 20 minutes deep diving into the hundreds, if not thousands, of options. Now, my feed gives me the latest on everything I wanna know about. To the developers, one thing I’d like to see that would really take this app to the next level is the author/outlet following feature. To follow them, I have to search specifically for them, click follow and then I don’t know where it goes from there. I’d like to see a “Following” page of sorts that only includes news from the people/outlets I follow. Maybe this page could serve a dual purpose between following and explore (where I could see recommendations of authors/outlets to follow based on those I already do). I think the page could live on the bottom navigation. Once there, I’d like to swipe side to side between following and explore. Just a thought. App is incredible otherwise.

News made accessible. Particle is the only news app I’ve used that makes understanding the news easy and fast. I also love how it helps keep out the news you’re not interested in.

Wow. Been looking for a good news app and I’m blown away. I’m generally a skeptic of AI but Particle uses it tastefully and links to all the articles it uses for its information. Add the ability to ask questions about the article and have the AI answer… I mean just wow. This is by far the best news app I’ve ever used after trying dozens. And it’s free. I’m blown away

Best news app since Artifact. Been looking for a modern news aggregator app for a while. This is the one. Probably the best in terms of design and ability to fine tune your feed. You can tell the designers really took the time to put you in control of the algorithms in a user friendly way by choosing the precise ratio of how much you want the AI to weight a topic in your feed. Hopefully this one sticks around longer than Artifact did!

Simple and easy to use!. I read about this app online and came to give it a try. After about a day of using it with my iPhone and my iPad it will definitely be living on my Home Screen now. The design is clean and it’s simple and easy to use. Tuning the app to find the categories you want to read was easy and didn’t take as long as it can in other apps. The way it condenses the stories is nice for catching up faster but my favorite feature is quotes. I like being able to see parts of the article directly as references for the summaries I’m reading. Can’t wait to see what other features come to this app.

Everything I’ve been looking for. My new go-to app. This is literally exactly what I’ve been searching for: an intuitive AI-sorted feed of stories you actually care about. Sourced websites and articles a tap away. Fully customizable feed. Political spectrum analysis. It’s seriously the perfect app for me - and if you’re tired of filtering through your news feed to find stories you actually want to see, give it a try. Please never stop supporting this app, dev team, I think I love you.

Wow!. This news app is amazing and I’m surprised it’s not rated higher. I’ve gotten much more insights about recent events from this app than any other source of news. I also appreciate that you get bulleted highlights and even an “explain like I’m five” version for more complex topics. The app is well designed and easy to use.

My go to news app. I’m shockingly impressed by Particle. On my use of it I loved the layout and ease of use. Over the last month it’s moved from a buried folder to my Home Screen and has become my go to news app, despite being a subscriber to Apple News. I enjoy that the user can apportion the preferred amount of subject matter and that the app lets you train and refine what it feeds you in stories. I’ve noticed lately that it’s skewing heavily each time I open with a certain sports genre, and I’m interested to see if this is an effect of seasonality related to that specific sport that will change to a different sport or a different news subject altogether. In any case, I’m hooked, and I love the read out loud feature, which is great for a morning recap.

Frustrating potential. I was ready to drop Ground News and start using this mainly but it’s just not there yet. It’s very pretty and the AI tech is cool but the bias is so heavy it is hard to ignore, and for me, unusable. At least in GN you get transparency and all the crazy headlines per left, center, and right publications. Here it’s all vaguely left and some few ones have a bar to show bias but still run left headlines. One article I checked out had false info which I tried to correct with a link to a government site showing proof of my point. I want to stress, I provided a US government document from a dotgov site for this. The AI basically said “nah, there’s no evidence.” as a response and cited two other articles spouting the same misinformation. I mean, what’s the point? Uninstalled and renewed my GN sub. Hope this improves, I might check it out again if it does.

Very Solid. I enjoy this app so much I think I will cancel my new subscriptions. This app is simple and to the point. Great UI/UX Suggestions- if it were easier to jump into categories of news (ex. Science). Sometimes I feel I may be missing out on other stories based on my curation. Traditional apps have all stories in your face. I think there’s an extra step on particle app to see the “full picture”. Granted, that is the purpose of the app to cut out the minutia.

This one is it. So far, free as of writing this, with all the great features and how minimal it is, it’s a stellar news app. It’s honestly a hidden gem and worth the download. The news I’ve been getting has been relative to what I like and super intuitive with the way it lays out information.

News in the modern world. This app presents news and stories you find interesting in such an intuitive and helpful way. With their built in tools and AI(?) integration it’s easy to understand the context of a story you previously knew nothing about.

Outstanding. This may be one of the best news apps I’ve tested in years. That it is free (so far) and does what it does really well is a huge bonus. Customizable content is a HUGE plus - and it works so well! Devs better be careful - someone is going to offer you an insane amount of money for this. No!!!

PLEASE fix the constant resetting. This is a great app. But if you lock your screen or switch to another app for even a few seconds, it completely reloads the news feed. The order of the stories changes and it puts you back at the top. It wasn’t like this a couple of versions ago. Can you please fix it?

Missing topic. Hi, the science topic is missing when going to the topics but when setting the content preferences it shows science but once I try to go to the topic to read up on some article I can’t find it. Everything else is there even topics I don’t want to see at all. Please add the science topic to the topics.

Has the Chance to Be Revolutionary. If you’re like me, you are tired of media bias. You also like all sorts of topics, and love a good deep dive as much as a summarized/condensed “tell it to me straight.” You also read articles and say “huh, I wonder where that city is” or “I wonder what that means” or “I wonder about this detail or that.” This app literally covers all of the above. It’s truly next-gen AI “storytelling” that saves you the hassle of looking at multiple websites, and saves you the spin of your favorites that you begrudgingly use. This app… it’s going places, mark my words.

Very Promising News App!. So far in my use, the Particle app is a very clean and useful news app to help digest hundreds of stories into easily digestible headlines and key points. It has a really clean interface, works great in light or dark mode, and is fun to use. It’s not perfect and has some tweaks to make, but it’s a relatively new app and I am sure the team is up to continuing to make it better! Also they have no ads which is great! But I am sure they will come someday, at that point I’d be interested in the pricing they roll out.

Lots of weird problems. Overall, I do sort of like this news app a lot, but there’s some issues that I feel like are kind of critical. The first one is some categories will keep articles from months ago at the top and for some reason, never seem to update on a regular basis and then other times I will see the exact same new story be repeated Sometimes every day

A Too Good To Be True Privacy Nightmare. I was wondering why this app is so well polished, easy to use and completely free. Seems too good to be true right? Try to find any details on their devs or their parent company to see the field of red flags. Then read the privacy policy and terms of use: You’re providing them a “non-exclusive, transferable, perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, fully-paid, royalty-free, sublicensable (through multiple tiers of sublicensees) right (including any moral rights) and license to use, share, copy, reproduce, modify, adapt, prepare derivative works from, translate, distribute, publicly perform, publicly display and derive revenue or other remuneration from Your Content." This is an extremely broad license. They also: - retain your data perpetually - have you waive your right to sue - share basically everything about you, your phone and your network to any and all third parties including Anthropic and OpenAI Insane, and unacceptable. Don’t use this app if you care about your privacy (which seems increasingly rare nowadays).

News. Love the ability to be able to select the articles I’m interested in , I also think they should add profiles so we can send articles to people. But otherwise great app no notes

Best News App on my Phone. I only use this app. I love the feature of getting Morning, Afternoon, and Night time briefs and the AI voice to listen to the articles like they are a podcast. The fact it is free makes it my go to news app. Please don’t change it!

Excellent. By far the best news app I’ve had. It tells you the sources where the articles came from, comes with plenty of media, and you can ask questions! 10/10 app, will recommend if you are a busy person that want stay on top of the news.

Well done. Particle is what I want in a news app. Concise information gathered from a variety of sources. Particle allows me to quickly learn about the news in much less time than other methods. I’m interested to see where it will end up.

Perfection. This app makes news enjoyable to consume. It’s fast, intuitive, has great coverage, and transparent about sources. Not to mention all of the beautiful animations and novel features. Also not to mention it is FREE 🤯. I would happily pay $10/month for this app.

My go-to news app. This news agregator is great! I get a really quick view of what is happening in the world. I also love the other features like media coverage over the political spectrum, quotes, and future links.

Feedback. I really enjoy using Particle! One of my favorite things about the app is how it presents article information in an easy-to-read format. I especially appreciate the different reading options like the “5 Ws” and “Explain Like I’m 5” — they make consuming news more approachable and engaging. However, the user interface could use some improvement. It can feel a bit overwhelming at times, as the app tends to bombard you with a lot of information all at once. A cleaner, more organized, or minimalistic design would definitely take the experience to a 5/5 for me. Overall, I genuinely enjoy the app and can see myself using it more in the future!

Best news app by far. By far the best way to consume news. The best part is it strips away all the clickbait, the second best part is the summaries usually present more useful information in fewer words and with a better format than the source articles. The fact that the sources are linked with a meter of where they fall on the political scale is the cherry on top

Possibly one of the best apps on the app store right now. I downloaded particle to offset my doomscrolling addiction and instead replace it with time learning. The app is really great to use and the option to pick how you want the scenario presented is top notch. This and the ability to ask and ai agent questions relating to the article make sure that u truly learn and understand what’s going on. 10/10 would strongly recommend

The Literal Perfect. Particle News is a clean, fast app for staying updated without wasting time. It gives short, simple summaries of big news stories with no ads or clickbait. The dark design looks good, and the AI explains stuff clearly if you’re confused. It feels like TikTok for news — quick, smart, and smooth. It doesn’t always cover niche topics, but for everyday news, it’s solid. If you want to stay informed fast, Particle is a 9/10. Definitely worth using.

Very Good for 9/10 People. As someone who doesn’t read the news much, this app has helped me find relevant news. However I would like to see more and more articles added to expand the pool, for example Id love to see some more music related news, more Church related news etc

Now my go-to news app. Found myself recommending this app to yet another friend and figured I was due for a review. Huge fan—so nice to be able to see an unbiased take on the news, and love the “Political Spectrum” summaries and analyses. (Also, every app should have a “rewrite to satire” button. The world has become much more palatable.) Keep it up 🙇‍♂️

Annoying card touch reaction, great app and feature rich. I’m enjoying everything about this app, except for how the cards react when I scroll though my feed. When I touch a card, it quickly dims and undims even when I’m just touching it to scroll. It’s strangely super annoying to me.

I hope this app lives forever. This app has become my some source of news! It’s one of my favorite apps on my phone, and that’s saying something. I don’t know why it isn’t talked about more. High recommend!

Just what I was looking for. Absolutely wonderful app! I was looking for a customizable feed of news that matters to me, no negativity, no depressing headlines. This app allows me to fully customize my feed to see what I want. Product feedback request - the ability to use natural language to curate my feed (maybe via AI?) Doesn’t really work as expected. This app is a great idea, because algorithm-driven newsfeeds show me a lot of content I don’t want to see. So I put in a decent amount of effort to tell the app my interests and disinterests, but then the app seems to ignore what I just told it and still shows me stories about topics I specifically said to avoid. I’ll even check that story’s categories and the blocked topics appear there, so I don’t understand why it still gets shown to me.

Great app, just one thing. The app is really easy to read for someone who doesn’t read the news much, the information is good, the personal preferences are a nice touch and it’s well designed. The only thing is I wish you could read region specific news, based on your location, like most news websites.

It’s Beautiful. It’s… beautiful. Stories feel so polished, with a wealth of information right there if you wish to dive deeper (even links to the reputable news articles it sources from). No Tech Category. Seriously? A news app with no tech or science category? One star until you let me make my own curated categories. I keep telling you not to show me articles and yet they appear over and over again. Preferences don't actually affect timeline I still see all the stuff I don't want. Let me also set news location. I don't care about the USA let me set my country.

Useful app, but…. It’s useful, and so far, it’s tweaking the feed as I participate in the process. I’m curious what Mina Labs gets out of the interactions tho. No ads, and no subscription option…

Great news app. Great accurate easy to use news app. Has special options where you can see the opposite side, different views and simplified articles. No complaints.

Excellent replacement to scrolling. I get the best of two worlds, I’m informed about what is going on in the world and I get to scroll. Particle provides a platform that showcases both sides of the same story and this makes it so much easier to understand and form an informed opinion

Too US centric. US driven news and for some reason just won't remove certain subjects like mlb and and football

Absolutely great. This is the greatest news app I’ve ever used. I love how it tailored news for you. Yes it takes time to train the algorithm so it only shows news you’re interested in. But it’s so nice not seeing topics you’re not interested in. I love how the articles give you a summary. I love how you can view the pictures at the top of article from all the sources. The quotes section is cool. I dont even use the other AI features. This has reduced my time spent on Reddit and twitter. My only request is being able to view stories that you viewed earlier in the day or week. I’d like to be able to keep scrolling to see what was viewing yesterday. 5 stars

Easy to use: Minor problem with searches for the term “null”. Date: 11/26/2024 Particle News app (version 1.0.8) I downloaded the app and gave it a try today. I like the user interface and I get the idea of the app. One small issue: I did a standard search that I do with every app I download. I searched for the term “null” and how it is used/displayed inside of the app. Oddly, 14 URLs related to the Seattle Times newspaper’s website were returned - with each and every news article described as “null” I am guessing these 14 URLs should not be showing up in search results. Steps to Reproduce: 1. While signed onto an account, run a search for the term “null” 2. From the returned results for “null” click on URLs 3. Note 14 returned URLs from the Seattle Times website that are described simply as, “null” Result: URLs from the Seattle Times website are described as being “null” inside the Particle News app Expected: URLs should never be described as “null”
