Actually unusable. I’ve used this app off and on for years and had to switch to a completely different app because ads make it unusable. You can’t make an entry without dismissing 10+ ads, and good luck trying to go back and check previous months, ads pop up again as soon as the first one ends. Maybe this problem is fixed with the paid version but with so many other free options out there trying to bait people to upgrade by making the free version unusable isn’t the way. Seriously, don’t even waste your time.

There was a time. When TipSee was usable— that time has passed. Like many of the other reviewers have stated, the app has become to riddled with the ads that it basically doesn’t work. You’d be better off setting up a spreadsheet to do the same thing for you. Disappointed but not surprised. It was fun while it lasted.

New version has bugs. I’ve been using this app for years and never really had an issue, but after the last update I can’t even get the app to load to put in new I for or access the old.

Inaccurate tracking. I just noticed that the app is tracking my tips wrong. I added up all the monthly totals located at the top of the month myself and was about $2000 off on what the yearly sum on the summary tab said. I came here looking for reviews to see if anyone has had the same problem. Didn’t see anything so I thought I’d leave a review.

What happened. I’ve been using this app for years for free- now I’m paying and it takes multiple times trying to open the app, once it finally goes through it ask about 6 questions I have to scroll through and then if you let you screen go black you have to reopen and do it all over it again. It’s been awful the last 6 months or so, never used to have issues like this.

Love it. I love this app I have been using it for years and I don’t know what I would do without it.

Can’t trust this app :(. I used tipsee for years. I’ve been a server in the industry for 14 years now and keeping track of your tips & hourly & what you tip out is essential for me to keep track of finances, what I claim and how I go about doing my taxes. I had shifts saved for years on this app. The other day I went to track my tips and it brought me to the log in screen like I haven’t had an account. Once I got back in, all of my info was erased and I had a blank screen. Super bummed. Downloaded ServerLife instead.

Don’t pay for anything. I really liked this app until I paid for pro features. Now I get crazy ads and I can no longer see my tips + wages. 🙄 I would love to delete all the data and start over but I need to save the record of my tips. Wish I could at least download my info.

Lost 2.5 years of income information.. Do NOT use this app. I went to open it the other day and it refused to load, after updating it was asking me for my email and password, which I entered in and it kept telling me it couldn’t sign me in. So I now have zero clue what I’ve made the past 6 months of the year excluding June. Huge PITA

Can’t view multiple jobs. I’ve used this app for years and it basically has become outdated. I upgraded to get rid of the ads, paid for a year and immediately regretted. I have two jobs and it doesn’t show which jobs you’re looking at. Color codes don’t work unless you view on the date list, not the calendar view. The hourly wage calculation is off by several dollars. No way to filter and view each job tip totals individually, in the calendar or anywhere. Can’t toggle between jobs to enter tips easily. Clicking Help/Feedback crashes the app. I have emailed for refund.

Constant Crashing, Unable to Import Data.. Another update without this issue fixed…the app works fine until I import my data from the tipsee remote database, then it crashes and won’t reopen. Huge bummer as I’ve used this app for years but whenever I switch phones I can’t access those years worth of data. I pay for Premium on an app I can’t use 🙄. I’ve also contacted the company and left a similar review on the last update and haven’t heard anything, so no stars on customer service.

Meh. The ads are awful, and it is very buggy. I’ve been using it for so long I haven’t brought myself to learn a new app, but it may be time soon. Paid options aren’t worth it when other apps do the same for free. And have a better layout. It’s like a 2003 website.

Potential to be good- but it’s not. You can’t navigate through the app at all without an add popping up. It’s every other action where a video will pop up. The app crashes often. This past week I haven’t been able to open the app at all. I’ve updated it too.

Used this for over a decade. I’ve been using this app since before 2013 and now that I’m trying to use it again it’s horrible. The same survey every time I open the app? Can’t even edit things? You have to close the app just to get out of a screen and otherwise I have to pay? Super silly fix this immediately.

Ugly but works well. The interface is not very refined but the features are all there to make this a great app to keep track of your cash at multiple jobs. I only use it for one but if you have multiple gigs it will let you program different settings for each one. Recommend.

TipSee. I have used this app for a few years now. It’s easy to keep track of money I’ve made (current and past.) I use this app multiple times a week and am thankful for it.

Been using it for 4 years. I’ve been tracking my tips with TipSee foreveerrr! It’s invaluable to me to have a single place where I can compare how much money I’m making at various jobs, at various times of year, or even week by week or day by day. Seeing every shift’s tips broken down into hourly helps me set a more efficient schedule, and seeing how much money I’m making each month let’s me know how my budget is going to be. I pay the $25 a year for all the pro features so I can keep my multiple jobs separate, so I don’t get ads. I can’t speak on that. It’s also really nice to have an easy to find year-to-date income number that is what I’m actually taking home, not what’s declared on my W-2. I just like to know how much money I’m making, and TipSee does all the work for me! Everyone who makes tips should be tracking them with TipSee.

Starting to worry. I’ve had this app for years!! Am I about to lose all the info I’ve saved? It won’t always open and just freezes after ads.

Used to be a great app. I’ve been using this app for years and it has been great . Recently however, the ads have been getting out of control. Tonight for example, it took less time to search the App Store and download a new tip tracker app than it did for TipSee to load. Later.

If you need to track tips this is the App.. I have used tipsee for 3 years now. It's great and the newest version even better. Highly recommended.

Unusable. I have been using this app for a long time now, I’m not sure when it started but you can’t even use the app now due to all the pop up ads.. it’s horrible! Every time you click on feature an add pops up.. and I do mean every time.. even just to scroll to a a previous page, ad, clicking on anything at all will trigger an ad it’s ridiculous

Must get!. This is such a good app! I’ve been using this for maybe 2 years? Its definitely a great way to track your money/tips. I would recommend this for anyone, but it’s very helpful for those who are in the restaurant industry. I also think it’s such a great app for those who have a business, even if you don’t get tips you can still track the money you’ve made for the day. This app has also helped me save more money/ create goals for myself. The app does have some adds, but it’s honestly not that bad.

Ads make this app completely unusable.. Used this app for months and it’s progressively went downhill to the point it’s unusable, 100% due to ads every few seconds, even with the “unlock pro features” option. I absolutely do not recommend this app, even to the most desperate of people. there are much better free and ad free apps out there.

Used it for 5 years now!. This company has had their ups and downs but over the past two years it’s been mostly ups. It’s a great app and the features seem to work really well. They got blasted a couple years ago when everybody’s data got erased but since then there have been no problems whatsoever.

Stopped Working. After 5 years of using this app it has stopped working. I luckily had exported all my information so I didn’t lose years of tracking but it’s still frustrating because I really loved this app. I even paid for an upgrade in hopes it would help… it hasn’t. At this point the app won’t even open for me.

Love this App. This app is perfect especially if ur a waitress, bartender ect. Its also awesome for budgeting and just seeing how much you made all together highly recommended

Best tracking app. I’m able to keep track of my tips easily and quickly each night. They send me reminders. I love it!

Great!!. I always use this app after work when clocking out. It helps me keep track of all my tips and checks, and also helps me balance money for bills.

ALL DATA LOST. After 8+ years of using this app and absolutely loving it I don’t know what happened but all my years of tracking tips has vanished. I’ve sent several emails trying to resolve this and haven’t heard a word. I’m very disappointed. I’ve use this app daily for over 8 yrs to look back and compare which days were busy for work and now it’s all gone.

Great app but ads are bugged. I love this app I use it to keep track of all my tips but the ads have become insane to the point where I think it’s bugged. Sometimes I can open the app and it will run an endless amounts of ads every 2 secs of having the app open unless I close it and shut it again which sometimes fixes it. Somethings I have to close and open the app multiple times until it functions properly. Please fix this issue. This is such a good app and want to switch my star rating.

Long Time User. Been using this app for several years now. It used to have its little glitches, but it seems to have become pretty stable in the last year or 2. Very reliable. Never had a problem with any lost data, I can still look up all my tips from 2018. I use it every single time I work. Knowing exactly how much I’m making has helped me move forward with big financial decisions in my life. Thank you TipSee.

Fabulous app. I’ve used this app for a solid 5 years. I am in food and beverage and it’s the perfect app to keep all my tips recorded

It was fun to use. A friend recommended this app to me and I really liked using it I used it for about five months. However, then one day I logged onto it and the ads are insane!! It’s like anytime I typed a letter or just touch the screen while using the app a new ad would pop up like literally every two seconds. It’s nearly impossible to use it now without an ad getting in the way. It’s sad because I really like this app so hopefully they can get this thing figured out

Terrible!! No help from company. I have used this app for many years and have never been able to email myself a backup of the data. I have reached out to the company several times with no reply. I had paid for a subscription hoping that would fix the issue with no luck. I used to love the organization this app allowed. However, about 9 months ago the ability to track tip outs and hourly pay disappeared. Again I purchased a subscription hoping that would solve the issue - no luck. This app keeps getting “updates” and claiming bug fixes but nothing ever changes. I have since switched to a different app (ServerLife) that offers much more organization, is more user friendly, and the Developers/company actually answer emails/reviews to help their customers. They also offer assistance with inputting data from other tip tracking apps!!! If I didn’t need the data from previous years currently on Tipsee, then I would delete it!! If TipSee ever gets around to answering their emails and helping their customers, then I will update this review. But I’m not holding my breath!!

Super easy and convenient. This app is great for keeping track of what I make. The only thing I wish they added was custom notification time. That way I could have the notifications go off after my shift instead of halfway through.

Advertising every 2 seconds!!. App is not user friendly plus you have a advertisement every minute so when your trying to input information to track tip income and hours you get interrupted over and over and over again. So something that takes a minute to do take 10 minutes.

Freaking ads, but good app. If they would back off the adds it would be incredible, love the way the app works when it’s not ads every 5 seconds

Ads ads ads. I used to really like this app and there would be the occasional ad. Now there are so many it makes it next to impossible to use the app in the way it should be able to be used. Going to start looking for a new one because this is ridiculous.

Freezes. I use to love using the app and always recommended it to friends but as of this last year, it’s gotten ridiculous with ads and it always takes forever to load a page, Regardless of whether I’m connected to a WiFi network or my cell network. I finished out the 2023 year for convenience sake but 2024 I’m switching to something else.

Great app. Easy to use.. only con would be the font is hard to read and for those of us that have a hard time seeing could you make it optional to enlarge the font please!

For a calendar you’d think to have the right dates. I’ve been using this app for years suddenly for 2024 they can’t get the calendar to be on the right days. They have January 1st listed as Sunday but it is a Monday this year 2024. So every day is one day off. I went to submit my for my shift from Thursday feb 1st and it’s telling me today, Friday feb 2nd is Thursday the 2nd. Get your calendar sorted. This app is useless without the calendar being correct.

Just doesn’t work any more. I’ve been using this app for years. I recommended it to every coworker and new hire. I can’t any more. It just hangs on the opening screen, key inputs aren’t recognized, and after every screen there’s a 5 second ad. I would gladly pay for premium to get rid of the ads but I just don’t have any confidence that paying for premium would fix the actual usability of the app. Unfortunate.

Deletes data suddenly. Have been using free version for years with no issues other than when I get a new phone, all data is erased. That I can at least prepare for but now apparently even with minor updates to the app it’ll delete data. Suddenly a years worth of tip saving just gone. Super frustrating.

Quality decline is drastic. Recently the app incorporated ads and since then it has been slow it glitched frequently and often the ads are not in the demographic language so they’re completely pointless. I’m looking for a better alternative because this app has gone downhill. It takes many minutes just to open to the main screen every single time I open the app and after a long shift it gets extremely frustrating.

Excellent customer service. Best customer service I have ever seen on an app. I emailed them with a concern and they answered my in less than 24 hours with a resolution on a weekend. If you need to track your tips I highly recommend this app.

Suddenly not working. Been using the free version of this app for over a year now with no major issues until now. I have previously tried to create an account twice before but I never got a confirmation email. Since I was still about to use the app’s features without logging in, I stopped bothering with trying to have an account. Today, all that shows up when I open the app is a login page, but none of the links work (logging in with the email and password I registered, create an account, forgot password, resend confirmation). Now I’m worried that I’ve lost info on all the income I’ve made this year that was logged but not backed up because an account was never actually created. It doesn’t make any sense.

Deleted all my Data. Was really happy with the app. Used it for over a year. Signed in today after doing the update, punched in my tips and the hours worked fine. Go to the calendar. All of my previous information is gone. Just wiped away. Over a years worth of monitoring how much I made gone because of one update. Pretty furious.

Bring it back. Bring back on calendar view when you touch it, it shows notes! I have 3 sources of income like to view it simply Also add a back button

Everything was deleted. I really enjoyed this app and used it for years to track my tips and hours. It updated on its own and now everything is gone. I'm hoping customer assistance can help restore it. Very unhappy!

Get rid of the ads!. I used to love this app, and still do, but I hate the ads! They are so frustrating. I would prefer to simply pay for the app and not have to deal with the ads, but that's not an option. Please fix this!!

Great way to keep track. Works really well, gives a summary of how much I've made in a day/week/month/year and how much per hour. I can't add my hourly wage in on the Apple version though to see what I'm making total.

Horrible update.. Not impressed at all, update deleted all of my previous entries. Makes me want to delete the app and never look back.

Bad update. Lost all of my data from the last year and couple months of tracking. Tried to recover information from 1.4 version per tutorials and was unsuccessful and lost lots of important information. Document all information before update.

What the hell happened to this app. I’m a server and used to love this app and have been using it for years. Now it spams you with ads literally EVERY 5 seconds like not even enough time to click a date or check something before the next ad comes up. This is so frustrating I do NOT recommend this considering the new ad update. It’s literally non functional.

Great way of keeping track. Keeps track of each day/ week, month, and year so you can keep a good eye on everything, breaks down hourly rate also, I use this every day

Gone to garbage. This used to be a great app but now it’s just useless. I don’t want to watch a video every single time I log in to get “upgraded features” - I don’t want the upgraded features and I’m obviously not getting them if I still have to watch the video just to use the bloody app. Editing past dates or multiple jobs is almost impossible now - I have to delete each entry and start over - but not before watching another video all over again. I’ve switched to a notebook to track tips - the effort I have to put in just to enter my hours and tips is not worth it. Complete waste of time.

Previous versions were better. Just updated & 2 years worth of tracking has been erased, very disappointing. The font is way too small, I find myself squinting reading the tiny, new font on a 6s+. Also toggling between pages isn't as user friendly/smooth. Was a good app, but will probably be less inclined to use it after having everything pre-update deleted & fearing a new update will erase everything.

Decent but not lately. Feels like the app stopped working properly or would get higher. It records the tips but is not showing them on the monthly day by day calendar. Need that for reconciliation of due backs.

Better before. It was much better before the update. The font is now tiny and hardly legible on the calendar screen, the week number and day columns don't align properly, making Friday look like it's actually above Thursday, and it's now harder to quickly transfer back and forth between tip entering and calendar modes. Complete fail of an update.

5 stars!. I really love using the TipSee app! It's super convenient, easy to use and a bonus that it's free! Also the app has a support feature in which you can contact the TipSee team via email. They respond very quick with detailed instructions for your concerns! Great app, awesome customer service!!!

Keeps track of my income. App works great.

Outdated- needs updates. I downloaded this app a few months ago, then ended up being so frustrated with it constantly crashing, freezing, etc. that I deleted it. I re-downloaded it recently out of pure necessity (because there really aren't any other apps for tracking tips), and was disappointed to see that there really had not been any updates made since I originally got the app. It still crashes randomly, and the aesthetic of the app is very outdated. It needs a makeover VERY soon.

Super helpful!. Best app for organizing tips! Shows you your tip averages per day, month and year!

Give back notes. Your most recent update has taken away the little "Notes" marker on calendar view when looking at all totals for the month meant this feature back because I liked to see the days it says notes so I can see what days my work owes me money for. Now I have to click into every single day individually and it's very annoying. I just want the calendar to show where I've written notes without me having to click every day to see if I've written notes or not. Otherwise I love this app and thank u for making it for us servers! NOT HAPPY THAT YOU NOW HAVE ADS. ITS SO ANNOYING! if these things aren't fixed I'll probably go back to my simple note book

Don't waste your time. After two years of tracking the app continues to crash and lose the tips I've added.

Would be nice if the ‘don’t show this message again’ button actually worked. Every time I start the app, it shows me a screen asking if I want to turn on ads to unlock the pro features. At the bottom it gives you the option of ticking a checkbox that should supposedly not show that screen any more. Can’t check that box, can only hit yes or not now. Why put that there if it’s just for show?

Nice app but crash often. The app is nice and it basically does what it's promote but every time I try to do a backup, the app crashes and closes.

Needs update. Awesome app! Love the calculations and totals showing how much I make per day/month/year/day of the week, and colander showing my wage in tips per day. I really think it's time for a fresh update! Maybe more modern to go with iOS 8 theme. And really need the features for base pay and multiple jobs! (Cuz servers work more than one job so often). Other than that, awesome!

Update is horrible. The update blacks out the past dates and you can't see what you made....every time they update they mess it up.

Deleted everything.. Don't update unless you're ready to lose everything. So miffed. Deleting this app and going back to pen and paper. GRRRRRRR!! Years of data GONE. ridiculous.

SERIOUSLY?!?!?. 4th time reviewing this app in 2 weeks. You have epically missed the mark. EVERY time I open this app now something is wrong. I'm so beyond frustrated at this point. I'll be deleting your app and finding another way to track tips!!!!

No good. Brutal. Deleted it after 5 minutes. It crashes whenever you try to make changes and click the “save” button, and it has a poorly designed interface for mobile.

Crashes immediately. Can’t even get the app to open, it crashes on launch every time. Even after several version updates it still won’t open. Don’t want to delete as I have several years worth of data saved in it from a few years ago 🙄

Great customer service!. I had an issue with an automatic update, I reached out to their support team and had a response and a fix within a couple hours! Definitely recommend this app!

New Update. When I first opened the new update, none of my data from the past nearly two years was there so I immediately emailed the support team. Agh! They responded within minutes and we were able to quickly resolve the issue with ease, and all of my data is loaded and correct. It seems all the data had been saved but just needed to download. Fantastic customer service and a smooth new design.

App need to be fix. Don’t work on my Iphone, i’ve try with 3 phones never open

update takes getting used to!. i was worried when i opened the app after the update, all my entries from the past 2 years were gone. i emailed them & they walked me through finding it & getting everything back. super easy & helpful. love this app!

Favourite App!. With the new update, all my information was also lost... however, once I emailed the "help centre" within the app (and got a reply within minutes) they gave me step by step instructions on what to do to resolve the issue and just like that- all my information was back! Pls update. Please update the app!! It needs an hourly wage feature, also a payday feature to completely track full income. Other than that, the app works well, it does what it's supposed to.

Great app. I’ve been a server for many years. This is a great app to keep track of your tips and hours. I love that I can go back years and months. Easy to use. I’ve been using tips$$ since 2017 only issue is dec 32 of the year always inputs on the next year. Other than that great app

Ads. I used this for a long time without issues. But lately the ads are insane. I can’t do one function without getting interrupted with an ad. I will be finding another service.

Newest update won’t open. The newest update (downloaded yesterday) causes the app to crash immediately when trying to open.

Fix the login/registration. There are all these lines saying enter password when you’re trying to create for setting up an account and nothing telling you what to specifically entee

This new update messed up my app. My app will not load whatsoever since the new update I love TipSee but now I feel like if I delete it and reinstall I’ll lost all my entrees

Lost everything. No warning about the new update requiring a log in. I have always backed up this app for the last 8 years and have had no issues. Now it won’t even let me sign in or create an account to start over. Very disappointed.

Not worth the hassle. I’ve been using this app for 2 years now. It’s had a few glitches along the way. Now I can’t even use it with out deleting it and reinstalling it every single time I open it.

TOO MANY ADS!!!!. This app used to be great with reasonable ads . Now you can’t even see the screen for a second without the same video popping up over and over! DELETED IMMEDIATELY!!!!

Not great. This app was referred to me by another barber, the sync is way off since I’ve started using it, the full month calendar and dates mix up constantly. Super annoying. I’m trying another app.
