Terrible. I scanned pages of a book. When it went to read the book all the pages were out of order. So frustrating. It scanned pages 1-10. And then read them as 7-8, 4-5, 1-2, etc. not helpful when you are already list with to a book you are required to read for work and you are not even interested.

Disappointed. Honestly I had really high hopes for this app and it definitely didn’t work as well as I thought. I am in plenty of AP classes and I have a hard time focusing on what I am trying to read so I’m looking for an app that works for a long time with little to no cost. I was hesitant when I saw the reviews were glitchy but I went ahead and got it anyway. It was indeed very glitchy, it would skip sentences and pause in weird areas. Would not recommend.

Multitasking reading aid. This is genius! I'm a busy mom who never has time to sit and read. Now I listen to articles while cooking dinner and have books read aloud during my morning jog.

S c a m...Here's a big tip. Use iOS Spoken Text--here's why.... Why 5 stars? Because I am hoping more people will see this review and find it helpful. I've included a full app review plus a solution. I had high hopes because I am a huge reader and I listen to audiobooks at work all day, but wish I could listen to the books I am reading on my Kindle at night. I did some research and found that this app synced with Kindle and I was very excited. But... Problem #1: it continues to reread the same page over and over. If I'm listening to a book, I obviously don't have the time or capability (in my situation - since I'm either working, driving, cooking or doing housework) to turn pages every few seconds. Problem # 2: There is absolutely zero inflection in the voice. So while the voice does sound more "natural" than some, when I'm listening to a book, there has to be inflection, especially when it's a question or exclamation etc. Here's the kicker! I also bring to you a completely F R E E solution that solves these problems and can read absolutely anything. There is customization in how fast, so many voices and then you can even alter the voices from there, control the speed at which they talk etc. Also, it is always available with just a swipe on your screen. What is it you ask? Spoken Content - Screen Voiceover on iOS which comes built in already. All you have to do is enable it and customize. You're welcome. Sorry Devs. You can do better and I was absolutely willing to pay the $9 plus tax until it didn't work then I found a better solution and didn't want other people to be scammed too.

No support available; limited functionality. I downloaded this app so I could listen to a textbook that is downloaded to my computer. The AI in this app started reading it just fine, but does not allow me to skip chapters. If I can’t skip to the current chapter I’m on, then this app is pointless. Also, the “contact us” button won’t do anything, so I have no way to contact the folks in charge to get this issue resolved. Pretty disappointing. If they fix those two HUGE issues, then this could be a great app.

Audio news updates. I can turn any online content into audio, which is so helpful for staying updated on those long articles from news websites and blogs. If you have a lot of stuff to read, install this app.

Long reads helper. The web link reader is genius. I paste links from news sites or research blogs and the app reads them aloud perfectly. It’s like having a personal narrator for those long reads.

Choppy. I am working with the trial of this product. It told me I could choose from many voices, but I did not see where that choice could be made. I sped up reading the text which resulted in a very choppy reading. It stops at the end of every line, even if there is no punctuation. It has a great pause before it goes to the top of the next page. If you were not looking at the pages and following the log, you would not be able to keep up with what was happening on the text.

Work while "reading". Hands down, the most well versed TTS app on here, and believe me because I've tried everything I could find. Finally I can stay immersed in "reading" even when working.

ONE STAR. First off, AI can be a useful tool if ethically sourced and I do not know if the Voice Actors were properly compensated for the ai training. Text-to-speech also doesn't accentuate things the way a VA would, so the delivery is bland and sometimes misread. The app won't let you play the clip unless you pay, so this app is training AI off of free stuff and then changing us consumers for it?? Overall a promising idea but not done well. There are other places to find free audiobooks that will be preformed better than this AI, or you can buy the audiobook and support all the talent that went into making it instead of paying this AI App

Very broken when working w/ kindle. I write very few reviews but I was so excited to have something that linked with my kindle that would read me books that don’t have an audible option. This just didn’t work well for me. I’m not sure why but it was consistently needing time to buffer and wouldn’t read more than a paragraph or two without needing a 15-20 second break. If I read it at 1.5-2 rate, it would also just start over at the beginning of the page. Very hard to follow along to a book when it’s very glitchy. I also have a iPhone 16 PM so I don’t think it was a phone or internet issue.

Not correct. I was gonna use this and when I did its word were horrible I was reading along in my own book and it skipped a whole page it’s horrible guys don’t download

I paid for ts. I like the different voices but it chops up the words with pdf version very unfortunate seeing as I paid for it.. gonna test it with epub version

Froze me out. Worked pretty good the first couple of days, then the app froze and wouldn’t even open. Very disappointing, since I really can see its value.

Expensive and glitchy. Tried this for my kindle but it glitches even more than the Alexa app does…and it’s expensive for not doing what it’s supposed to. The voices were nice when it actually worked tho.

Great concept, poor execution. I’m not sure if it’s just the current version of this app or not, but when listening to a kindle ebook the app constantly re reads the same parts/pages or just randomly pauses while reading. Its super frustrating!

iRead On-The-Go. Since now I'm able to listen to any book while on the go, iRead has made my daily commute so much more enjoyable. A must have for any book lover.
