McAlisters Deli Comments & Reviews 2026
Disappointed. I don’t care for the changes in your menu. You took away the only gluten free dessert, mashed potatoes which were great for young children, the onions on the roast beef potatoes are raw not sautéed, and now you have to ask for a pickle . Took away the option for light ice in drinks and raised your prices so much it is no longer an affordable option. I use to eat here at least once a week and usually more. Now more like once a month. The rewards system has not worked for months and it used to work fine. Many times of late the potatoes take forever to get or they are out. You had a great thing going affordable food that wasn’t fast food. Now people can start getting better food for the same price yours cost. My bill for the exact same items is up over $8.
McAlisters to Chick-fil-A. There is honestly no point to the McAllisters app unless you wanna place an order which you could also do by calling. I love McAllisters but every time I look at the app I wanna delete it. I find myself going to Chick-fil-A because there app actually gives you free things. McAllisters at most gives you a cookie. It’s nothing compared to Chick-fil-A. Even if i don’t have free things if i go to Chick-fil-A i can get point from buying food to use to get free food. McAllisters literally does nothing. The best they can give you is 2$ off a meal or ice tea. I’m probably gonna delete the app because every time I look at it it’s just waisting my phone storage. Until McAllisters gets there stuff straight to where there’s an actual point to download the app I’m deleting it and just gonna go to Chick-fil-A
Horrible. I have never had a problem on the app till tonight and it said that something was not available And I tried to check out....but it wouldn’t tell me why it was not available at the Fountain City store in Knoxville Tennessee. So I decided to call the store and I must’ve ended up in the Philippines where he didn’t understand anything I was ordering ...and then he couldn’t take my money over the phone.... I was on hold for 20 minutes till he transferred me to the store on Broadway in fountain city/Knoxville Tennessee..The lady who Answered the phone said that all catering orders go through a call-center I was not placing a catering order I was ordering for my son and myself $21 to be exact. The lady on the telephone In the store on Broadway in Knoxville Tennessee didn’t seem too concerned and didn’t care that I didn’t place my order. Why can’t we just talk to someone on the telephone that is literally in the location we are trying to order from???? Why does everything have to be transferred over the Atlantic ocean or the Pacific ocean when we are in the United States of America. The reason everyone is going out of business is because there is no customer service anymore.
Can’t Order What I Want. When I first got this app, I used it every time I went to a McAlister’s. Now, with the removal of basic sandwiches on the menu, which is all I order, it’s useless to me. By “basic sandwich,” I mean I can’t order a pastrami on rye on the app, which is about as basic as you can get. It would be okay if the restaurant just didn’t allow it, but they still do, you just have to call it in, or order at the counter and wait fifteen minutes. Update: App is officially useless. When trying to order, I get to a point where I’m unable to actually select anything. Sandwich selection doesn’t populate. Clicking on “mushroom soup” in the What’s New section is the closest I can get to an actual order. I’m asked to choose the size, with no options for size. I doubt anyone is actually still minding this app. Stay away. Call or order at the counter, and hope the person tending to you knows what they’re doing. In my experience, they won’t. I’ve stopped going to McAlister’s because the experience is so awful, from the app to in person.
What’s going on with the app????. I received a coupon thru T-Mobile Tuesdays that I have to redeem thru the app. So when I pulled the app up it has the sign on there 2 update & when u click on it, it goes my Apple ID sign in, then it asks for my card information & even after I put all that information in it goes back the same original screen asking me to do everything all over again. What is the deal??? I know I haven’t used the app in a while but this is ridiculous & I still can’t redeem my coupon🤦🏽♀️😒
Not that easy to use. I’m a mom of 4, I often use apps and pick up curbside for food. This is one of the least user friendly apps to order food. You can’t customize well, or add notes, such as light ice in an iced tea, or add a side of honey mustard(which everyone does in restaurant, so I don’t get why this hasn’t been thought of). A lot of little things that just make it complicated, when you add something to cart, it tells you up too “added to cart” but to go to something else, you have to hit back, which is under the “added to cart” banner. It’s not anything big, just minor in inconvenience. But little things could be adjusted.
Great Food and Excellent service from a Happy Customer. Great food, excellent service, and one of my favorite go-to places for lunch and dinner! The manager, Jason, has worked there as long as I can remember, and several staff members have been part of the team for many years. The menu offers several fantastic options, and everything I've tried is fresh, tasty, and generously portioned—often enough for me to take home for another meal. Some of my favorites include the Jalapeno Turkey Avocado Crunch, Southwest Chicken and Avocado Salad, French Dip, and the traditional Loaded Baked Potato. The service is top-notch, and the food is always prepared and brought to your table within minutes.
your app update created more bugs and issues. I didn’t like anything about this app before the update, I find that it takes a second to figure out how to navigate it. Overall it’s inconvenient and overcomplicated to use. Your update did not address any of this. I noticed no changes at all, except that now I can’t edit a single thing on any item. Every time I try to select “Remove Mayo” or “Add Bacon” the app clearly registers my tap, but nothing happens and I can’t order what I actually want to eat through the app. I love McAlister’s so much and I love utilizing food apps to order ahead and get rewards, but I cannot do that with this app anymore and now I’m disappointed and hungry. Gonna go order in person
Not satisfied with window service. I understand that it is cold however the person at the window barely opened the window to ask my name. I gave home my name and he said the order is not ready yet and walked away from the window. I blew the horn to see how long before my order would be ready and he stated to drive back around and get back in line. However, when we drove back around we were the only vehicle in line. Then he asked the name on the order again and said they didn’t have an order with that name. I then gave him my name again with my maiden name and he just handed the order out the window and failed to give me my drink. He just acted as if he didn’t have a care in the world when it came to customer service.
Zero stars weren’t an option. WORST app and rewards program ever. Used to eat at McAlisters 1-2 per week. Haven’t received a reward since last August. Store staff have no idea how it works and just handed me the old tea and sandwich punch cards so I could at least start getting rewards again. Today I got an email instructing me to upload new version, create a new log in with my old email and I’ll get a free tea and 1500 points. Guess what? IT DIDN’T WORK!!! The app even says latest update was several months ago, and when I uninstalled, reinstalled and tried to create a new login, it said “oops! That login already exists so we didn’t create a new account” So, did y’all hire an undercover Panera employee to develop your rewards program and app? Otherwise, you’re self-sabotaging, and that seems ridiculous.
Needs Better Options. Seems to generic and the rewards are only set up in 3 categories by tiers. Descriptions also seem vague and classified by drinks sides and the main meal choices. Unless I’m not seeing something right, it appears I can’t pull up the menu to look at first. I select menu and it asks for type order and location. Most every competitor app I use is the opposite. You see the menu items right away and only then when you click on an item does it prompt you to start your order by type and location. If I decide on what to eat it looks like ordering from the website is the better option. If on the go and mobile this isn’t the case.
No longer showing all sandwiches. I have been successfully using this app for some months now since the covid pandemic started. Suddenly now, the app no longer is showing me certain sandwiches when I try to order. Specifically, it won’t let me order a Smokey Pepperjack Turkey or a Harvest Chicken Salad sandwich, which we often ordered before. Oddly, I can find those sandwiches as an option if I’m trying to order a Choose Two but I cannot for the life of me just order a whole sandwich because the sandwich menu won’t show them as an option! I deleted the app and reinstalled it thinking that might help resolve the issue, but no such luck. The same sandwiches are still missing! Perhaps some others as well because it just looks like some are missing. I just don’t know which ones specifically. Until this is fixed, this app, and the associated Rewards points are useless to me. It isn’t because the restaurant was out of those sandwiches because I was able to go to them and order them in person. But I didn’t get and Reward Points credit for that since I wasn’t using the app. Until those sandwich choices return to the app, I won’t be patronizing McAlister’s again.
Can no longer place order. I don’t have a log in. I could still choose “reorder” and place my old order all the time. I order for 4 people and I don’t want to go through SO MANY OPTIONS every time I place an order. So the app updated. I can no longer use “reorder.” I put in my whole order, went to pay, there’s no longer a CASH option. Have to do credit card. Fine. I find my credit card. Put it all the info. Order never finalizes. The “continue” button is grayed out so I can’t press it. Exit out of that screen. Entire order is deleted. What is the point of the app if you can’t place an order???? Bring back the cash button and remove the million steps it takes to place an order. The old version was completely fine.
90% of the way there. The app is generally good to order ahead. There are some issues that need to be worked on though, such as the ability to select which fountain drink you want. It defaults to Coke without letting you change it, so when you go to pick it up they just have Coke waiting. Also, the nutritional info in the app is broken, it lists calories and protein but not carbs and fats. Lastly, it would be nice if I could put light, regular, or extra condiments. For example, light mayo extra mustard. Many other sandwich shop apps have this feature.
Pay for your website?. Why do I have to get charged a convenience fee and a service fee. One is for more enhanced delivery? You mean it covers the money you have to give door dash to deliver your food. I’m sorry but you chose those terms in order to get more customers. Seems like you’re double dipping. Then service fee to pay for your website? Whoa. Every business in the world has a website pretty much. Almost mandatory. But yall are so special you don’t want to pay for yours. What is that about? The food is great even thin the selection is lacking. But I bet yall will be in bankruptcy 5 years from now. Because of manager decisions like this. I’ve been a restaurant manager for 34 years. And one thing I know is you’ll never build traffic into the establishment by nickel and diming your customers. They will quit coming. I mean your prices are already too high and now yall pushing. Pushing yourselves over a cliff.
FALSE ADVERTISING. I have spent a lot of money with the McAlister’s in Clinton, Mississippi from dinner for 4 to catering. I have yet to see my points added to my rewards. It is the same way in Byram, Mississippi too. I purchased a potato as recent as 6-1-24 and the cashier at the Byram location said the point will show within 24-48 hours. Of course nothing had been added. I am beginning to wonder if the employees are adding my purchases to their card. It is ridiculous. Oh and if you contact the company the same scripted information is always an apology but they can not add points, even if you send them proof of the receipt. Be very careful if you think McAlister’s employees or the company will make sure you receive your rewards. RIDICULOUS EXCUSES OR EXPLANATIONS!!! They even have reasons why I can not receive awards for catering or just a salad. It is strange that I fo not have problems with NEWKS, Chick-fil-a, Starbucks, etc… p.s. The employee at the Byram location kept asking me scan my app so I can receive my free tea and guess what, she ended up taking over 1200 of my points but she did not know what to do Employees and company is a JOKE!!!!! EXTREMELY FRUSTRATED!!!!!!!!!!
Could be much better. I have used this app for several months now. Sometimes it works better than other times. It must have received an update about 4-6 months ago that was not to the end user’s benefit. You don’t really have much choice on sides. You should be able to upcharge for other sides like you can in-store, but the app won’t allow it and won’t allow you to remove the item you don’t want. I have also encountered that I got an order confirmation on the app then showed up a the restaurant to find out they do not have my order and no explanation for why it did not go through! It’s good if or when it works, but it really could use some advancements and improvements to be useful! Need to take advice from Chick-Fil-A. Theirs always works!!!!!
My first visit to Mcalisters new location in Granbury Texas. I use to go to Mcalister’s in Odessa Texas and loved their food. My first time at your new location in Granbury Texas and I was so disappointed. I bought one of your Chicken Salad sandwiches and it was like someone took a knife and wiped the chicken salad on like peanut butter. I have had this sandwich in Odessa Texas and it was loaded with chicken Salad. Your staff needs some schooling on making a sandwich. I spent $7.00 for a sandwich with no chicken salad on it. SO DISAPPOINTED!! Well second time to order a Chicken Salad Sandwich and even had the manager of the store in Granbury check to see if there was a good amount on my sandwich. She came back to the window and said, “Oh Yes , you will get a bite of chicken salad in every bite. Well I got home with my sandwich and it was the same as the first one. I will never buy a chicken salad sandwich from your store again, I can’t trust that I pay $7.00 for a sandwich and get a swipe of chicken salad like a condiment. Really a joke. But I’m not laughing.
I’m never ordering through the app again. No other food app has given me as much as a headache as this one. This is the only app that has the worst connection issues which I would chalk up to being me if not for the fact that every other food app has never given me similar issues when used immediately after to compare. Another issue I’ve had repeated multiple times throughout multiple locations is my toppings not being on my order when I receive it. And my final straw has been today when I confirmed a location twice and after scrambling to find my order for half an hour found out it was sent to another location entirely. This is ridiculous for an app to be able to change my location from what I confirmed multiple times and to not even inform me. It’s unprofessional, irritating for users, and overall a waste of my time to have to continue dealing with. If I ever eat here again it will only be in person and without using this app since it has only ever given me headaches since downloading.
Club sandwich. I was very disappointed with my experience. I was served bacon that was clearly undercooked and appeared raw in several areas. When I brought it to the staff’s attention, the cashier agreed that the bacon did not look properly cooked. However, I overheard what I believe was the manager say, “Well, sometimes it comes out like that and sometimes dark,” which was concerning rather than reassuring. What makes this even more upsetting is that I am pregnant, so food safety is especially important to me. Serving undercooked pork can pose serious health risks, and I expected my concern to be taken more seriously. Instead, the response felt dismissive and unprofessional. Food safety should never be treated as optional. I hope management takes steps to ensure food is cooked properly and that customer concerns are addressed appropriately in the future. Based on this experience, I would not feel comfortable returning.
Epic fail. The app is great; in theory. I love how easy it is to place my order and pay for it with the idea of dashing in to retrieve my order rather than wait in a long line, only to wait longer for your food to be prepared. It’s so convenient! However, every time I place an order and get my “your order is ready..” email I show up and nothing is ready. I’ve done this with two different stores and the manager of each place very curtly tells me they don’t have my order! I politely show them my confirmation and order ready emails (with their location at the top). They then begrudgingly pull together my order and hand it to me like I’ve stolen something from them (even though the email clearly states it’s paid). I’ve made the conscious decision to take my business elsewhere. But I’m hoping whatever is going on gets worked out so I can return soon.
i want to give NO STARS. this app is truly awful. it’s laggy and slow. half the time, it doesn’t even do what i want it to do. most times i’ll press inside pickup and it’ll do curbside. however, the worst encounter i’ve had with this app happened today. i chose a location near me and chose inside pickup for my coworker to go pickup. however, my coworker showed up and much to her disappointment, found out that the order had been made in a town 15 minutes away! i distinctly remembered choosing the correct location, but i guess the app had other plans! the honest truth is that this app could be good if the company prioritized the customer experience! a good app should have a simple ui and should ALWAYS be dependable! the employees are not to be punished- they have been super helpful through this awful experience. i have used many competing apps and wish mcalister’s could live up to it! newks and chick fil a do it better than mcalister’s! i wish i could give no stars and save other customers this horrible experience!! the points AREN’T worth this- just order in person!
Bad add!. I ordered through the app, got a confirmation email that the order went through. Then a few minutes later I get an email saying it did not go through. I went in person to McAlisters in Forsyth. They look but did not have the order. I showed them on my phone that the credit card charge had gone through. It was showing pending on the credit card so they said it would drop off and I would not be charged. They took my order in person and I paid cash for that order. The next day I checked my credit card account and the charge is there and is still there today. I sent this information through on the comment section of the app. And have gotten no reply. I’m really disappointed as I feel that should’ve been a timely response to the situation. I’m attaching supporting documents.
I’m done!!!. I’m a loyal, twice a week patron to my local McAlister’s deli, but twice this week scanned my app at the register only to find a few days later that I didn’t earn those points. My balance hasn’t changed. Also, I agree with everyone else that has commented that all the app is is a headache. I’m not that computer savvy, as it is, but McAllister‘s app truly is the worst thing I have ever had to deal with. Today, as I was looking to see if my balance for my points has changed, it tells me that there is a newer version of the app that I need to download. I tried to download it, and then it informs me that I have to go visit the store. I shouldn’t have to go physically into the store to download something on the Internet. I am so disappointed, because I really like McAllister’s and the employees at my local local establishment. But until I get my points from my last two visits, and the app is updated on my phone and is usable, I won’t be visiting this establishment again. I hate to break up with McAlister’s, but I guess I have to. I wish there was a way to put no stars for my rating.
this app is not very user friendly, tipping feature seems suspect. you guys need to hire someone with a lot of ux experience to troubleshoot this app because it is a hassle to use. ordering is kind of a nightmare and payment is super frustrating. why can’t i use apple pay from my phone? or something other than just typing in my card…no shade to the design team and ui/ux people you already have but for real this is not the quality i would expect from such a big chain with tons of money to throw at an app… . Also — i noticed that it charges a tip. In person I have never been asked about tipping at mcallisters, and when I worked at mcallisters only a few years ago, we were told not to accept any tips, but if we did get a tip to give it to the manager (I never saw any of that money again) so who does this “tip” money go to??? are the actual employees getting them. it seems kind of fishy and weird to me…
Little Inconveniences and easy solutions. When reordering it should only auto-populate the actual order and not the location. Went into the app and it showed my current location. Selected reorder and it reordered the item and used the location from a 100 plus miles away. After realizing it was order at another location i had to call that location to cancel since it didn’t provide a cancel option on the app. After calling and being assured a refund no refund has appeared. This along with negative experiences with previous McAlister’s locations is deterring me from to patronize McAlister’s. A simple reminder or verifying location of the restaurant’s location(the same as add on notification) could correct this and curve negative impacts to customers.
Do not use!!!. I love McAlister! Although this app AND the management of this company is horrible. I made an order on this app for pickup. When I arrived they did not have my order ready and said they did not receive a order. I got an email saying the order was accepted and then another email saying it failed. I continued and order it again at the store. When I noticed I was then charged for that order I placed in the app I tried to get a refund. It has now been 11 days and I still can’t get ahold of anyone that can OR WILL do anything. I have been emailing a ‘training manager’ which she has been telling me the store manager will contact me which I have not heard ANYTHING! Then when I tried to call the store which the phone only rings and no one answers. Again I love this place but it makes me sad that the management does not care for their customers. QUINCY Il
Not the best. I order McAllister’s frequently. I take food to customers several times a week. I only order through the app because I absolutely hate the phone service, it’s hard to get a person and I have to listen to way too much automated messaging about my last order. Anyways, there are several things I hate about the app. Not everything is customizable. I order a Reuben a lot however I don’t like as much meat as they put on it so I like to request less meat so I’m not just throwing it away and there’s no way to do that. You also can’t customize certain vegetables I like extra sauerkraut there’s no way to do that. But what bothers me the most about the app is when you do create an order and you were sent to the payment section if you do not put your payment in fast enough it tells you that the delivery time is unavailable so you have to go back to the previous screen change your delivery time to allow a few minutes just to put in credit card information which is absolutely stupid. Because then you have to go back and re-put all the information in. Which I had to do three times because I did not do it fast enough the second time again.
Poor performance. Often, the app informs us we can’t order ahead or that we cannot place a pick up order. Then I call to discover the location wasn’t aware the app was restricting use. Today, 1pm, I tried to place a pick up through the app. App said online ordering wasn’t available. I called location and they didn’t know what was happening with the app. I order chili for my son at every visit. Sometimes the app claims chili isn’t available or it’s completely missing from options. Again, I’ll call the location and it’s always available. They never know the app is restricting anything. I’m not sure why it’s happening, but hope the app can get updated to fix the bug.
McAlister’s Rave. Since McAlister’s came to our town, I have grown to love the food immensely. The flavor of the food is exquisite. There is never a break in the goodness of what I choose to eat. We have 4or 5 that are our favorites, but we have never had anything that we didn’t like. The service is pretty good. There have been a few times when my husband had to get our refills, but those are few and far between. I could eat at McAlister’s every day and not be disappointed. In fact, one weekend, we did eat there Friday and Saturday evenings and then again Sunday after church.
Terrible!. I absolutely love McAlisters, but I have always placed to-go orders. When the app came along, I thought it would be awesome and I was very wrong! Constantly can’t find the location about 3 miles from my house, tells me one or more items can’t be ordered at that location and won’t tell me which items, can’t EVER use reorder function so why is it there, and finally the rewards are terrible. Who wants a free plain potato every 6 months?!? As much as I love their food, this is just too much trouble. Moving on to Jason’s deli or Newk’s. Update: Haven’t been in awhile and tried to use the app, big surprise that it wouldn’t load the food for awhile and then after investing 20 minutes into clicking through it, the payment method wouldn’t work. Definitely done this time.
Doesn’t work good. I went to place an order and I added my reward - free soup, then I added a couple sandwiches. When I went to complete my order, it said one of the items I chose was not available and took me back to choosing a location screen. It didn’t tell me what item wasn’t available, and it wiped out my entire order and my free soup was gone. I ended up having to call and place my order and the lady that took my order couldn’t find my free soup and couldn’t add it to my order. Very frustrating! I think it was a side of mashed potatoes that wasn’t available if you want to try and recreate the error but I’m not sure because again, it didn’t even tell me what item wasn’t available. Also you cannot add coupons to your order and it requests payment before pickup. Please fix!!!
Wow!. My family just went into McAlister’s for a meal. I watched the one running the cash register and the one running the meals. They were smiling with a line that formed almost to the door. They never missed a beat. Never got overwhelmed. They just kept moving and serving while we ate and watched. WOW! This two AND the ones producing the meals from the back that we never saw doing it!!! Just the two out front. I’ve seen food service in excellence but THIS… set a new level of standard in Excellence!!
Sad sad story. Let me tell you a sad story! My app defaults to store A but I was closer to store B, so I changed the store before enteting my order. No problem! I got all the way through the order process to payment when I realized I forgot to add a beverage. So I selected the menu and went back and added it. Checked out and drove to store B and then noticed that the app defaulted me back to store A when I added the drink! So then I had to drive to store A. Do you know how much gas costs? Well you can chalk this up to user error, but I do think that a user should be able to have the expectation that the store they chose when starting an order would persist all the way through until the order was paid for.
Disappointed in app wanted to use it. Will not accept my cash app VISA payment. It went through then it came back payment has been canceled? Why is that? Cash app sent me the text both times letting me know what happened, once it went through 2nd McAlister’s canceled it wow idk what’s going on or why you can’t order with your app and be able to pay through my cash app Visa card. But oh well I save .35 cent fee that this company charges every time you place an order through their app or online! But how can they do that anyway I’d like to know a “ Service Fee”? Is that legal ? If you call your order guess what No Fee y’all! Wow really terrible when you have to charge a fee to your customers fir placing online orders Bummer
Glitches and bills with no refund. I placed an order two days ago to pick up ASAP. After I paid, the app set the pickup time for the next morning at 10:31 AM for some reason. I called the store and asked to move the order to that night and they told me they can’t adjust orders for different days and I needed to call back in the morning to cancel. I called yesterday and requested to cancel the order. The employee asked for my name and when gave it said “ok I’ll let them know” and hung up. I never got a confirmation and the charge has been posted on my credit card... received no food. The app is broken and obviously it doesn’t interface with the stores properly. The app also charges you a fee for each order. This is insane. Customers using the app saves on labor costs so the company is essentially charging twice for an app that doesn’t work. The fee also more than cancels out any rewards you earn. Any time someone mentions this in the reviews the company responds with a copy and pasted nonsense explanation, so I’m sure this review won’t do any good. I’ll just go to Panera instead from now on.
Small inconveniences add up. I use the McAllister‘s app regularly, but a few long-standing issues make it frustrating enough that I order less often as time goes on with real customer pain points left unaddressed. My biggest complaint is the lack of basic customization options that nearly all of their competitors offer as table stakes. I have submitted feedback many times through the app asking for the ability to add extra Caesar dressing on the side to a sandwich. My feedback submissions have fallen on deaf ears, which makes me question why they even ask for my feedback. I am fine paying extra, but the app still does not allow it. Because of that I have to go through the regular checkout line in person every time just to make that request which completely defeats the purpose and negates the convenience of mobile ordering. Another issue is store hours. If a location is closed, the app should tell me when I start an order, not after I have spent time adding everything to my cart and get all the way to check out that is frustrating and avoidable. Finally, the new sandwich browsing experience makes ordering harder than it needs to be. When you tap into sandwiches it immediately filters you into categories there should be an all sandwiches view first so that customers can scroll and find what they want without guessing which category it’s under. McAllister‘s is shipping customers their org chart and putting the burden on us. These may seem like small inconveniences individually, but together they add friction every time I try to order. After repeatedly, running into the same issues, I find myself choosing McAllister‘s lesson less, even though I love the food. That is the real impact here.
Needs better performance and Apple/Android pay. There were 12 people in line in front of me. I already had the app installed. I figured surely I can enter the order for three people on my phone faster than a single cashier can deal with 12 customers. Nope, the app kept glitching and telling me after 60 seconds my location had an error. I think I entered a wrong table #. Then it froze for 2 minutes on the payment processing with no errors. At the counter they have two pages of instructions on how to use rewards points in the app. As a software designer this app is a very big no for me. Adding items to the cart was easy, everything else was extremely difficult.
NEEDS MAJOR IMPROVEMENT. I knew there was a reason I deleted this app years ago & that exact reason STILL hasn't been resolved! I love their food, don't get me wrong, but having to delete the app, re-install it over & over again JUST to use the app properly, in this day & time is a poor excuse for anything.. ESP when we're talking about a restaurant app! I will be permanently deleting this app until I know for a fact that I won't be dealing with these kinds of issues bc quite honestly, I don't have the time nor energy to deal with that.. My days are busy enough handling ridiculously, much less do I want to have to deal with a stupid technology issue just to order food. Crossing my fingers they'll get this figured out bc like I said, they've got good food! :)
So many updates, and never a fix. I have placed many orders with the app, and there is always an issue with my order after placing it on the app. I confirm my order I get an email confirmation everything is correct, and then something is wrong when I get to the store. Either the payment, they say, didn’t go through, or something else. With this newest update, I had to place my order two separate times. I had to, rewards and I was going to attempt to use one of them. However, each time I submitted my order with payment, then it canceled my order and sent me to the very beginning page in the app where I had to restart everything. Went through the process twice. And the app then deleted my rewards. What is the point of a rewards program when you never give your customer a reward? Maybe you guys should talk to Chick-fil-A. They know how to do the app thing
Catering. I catered lunch for 35, asked for vegetarian options. They delivered and after looking over everything. I noticed we were missing the vegetarian options. I called the manager, Eric, he stated they are there, in with all the sandwiches. I stated they are not there. He again stated the vegetarian options are mixed in. I let him know that when vegetarian options are ordered they need to be kept separate from the rest of the sandwiches. I went through all the sandwiches, we received none with veggies only. I had several people without a lunch. Eric told me I received my whole order and he could do nothing for me. I informed him our company will no longer use McAlisters, he was fine with this and hung up. Very poor customer service and poor management skills.
Great app, but missing gift card redemption functionality. If I had a magic want and could change 3 things about this app, I would Add gift card functionality to checkout. I’d love to purchase member-exclusive items by scanning in store for tableside or order on the website and use gift card specifically for tableside. I am forced to pay with card to eat the Member Exclusives in app. I use the app to plan orders or browse the menu with photos and ingredients ahead of time. I wish I could back out of an order to pull up my reward barcode from most places in the app. Sometimes I’m ready with my order, but the cashier insists on scanning first. When navigating back from customizations or to the Home Screen, I’d love if the copy or confirmation was clearer. Clear customizations? Is the question, but the answers are Continue and Cancel. I don’t want to continue with my order, I want to cancel what’s in the cart or selected. Maybe “Yes, clear” or “No, go back” would keep me from tapping the wrong answer each time.
Not Selling My Data For Potatoes. This app has pretty much been trash for a very long time now. It worked fine about a year ago and then one day, just stopped working. Could never place an order. Gave up after awhile. Was eating there 3-4 times a week while at work. Haven’t in almost a year now. Figured they would have fixed the app by now. Was glad to see it now has the Sign In with Apple option. Only it doesn’t work. I choose to Sign In with Apple, my phone uses Face ID to verify, then a screen pops up that says, Hold On A Minute! Turns out Facebook doesn’t know everything. I’m not signing in with Facebook nor would I ever. The app then requests every personal detail of my life in order to be sold in exchange for the option to order food from an app. No thanks. Maybe I’ll check back in another year.
Password issues. I’ve reset my password over 5 times and the homepage from website tells me I’m good to go. Go to the app to login, get error message “please login with correct email and password.” SUPER frustrating. I really enjoy using apps to order and pay for food bc you get rewards/incentives when doing so. This makes me choose to order from other establishments because their platform isn’t constantly giving me error messages.
Pretty Good App. It’s much easier to order in the app than it used to be online. Although, It changes fairly often. My biggest complaint is that you used to be able to put ice preferences in the drink section, but they took it away. It’s annoying to have to either call right after you order and ask them to put lite ice or order food online and then order the drinks in store when you pick up. The workers at the store told me to put it in the notes section, but there’s no notes section anywhere to put it in either.
App has improved over time but there’s always something annoying. The latest version of this app has a bug in the payment process. My saved card had expired. The nice way they could have handled it is let me edit the aspects of the card, but no. Have to enter a new card. However, the app freezes after you enter your name. Could not click to next field or click on the “next” button. Nada. Just frozen. Closed the app and restarted. Same thing. So went to my profile to add card there instead. It let me delete old card, but said to enter new card at payment process. Crap app. Had to go to laptop to finish order. And do you think it had my cart? No. Had to start completely over.
Forces bread substitution for no reason. App (and online ordering) both force me to substitute 9 grain bread for another type when trying to customize the garden fresh turkey sandwich. This has been happening for more than 6 months and I’ve submitted numerous complaints to the app developers. Now, for the past month, the ONLY option on the app for chips is BBQ, yet when I get to the store All varieties are available. Now I have to call the store to get the order right which make the app worthless. I have always enjoyed the app until these glitches. I hate having to pay at the window and then have to scan the receipt for my reward points. About to give up and go back to Subway.
Lacking simple ease-of-use features. The app works well, but it is limited in use for some simple features that would help a lot. For instance, there is no way to request a water in a cup. The tap water is already filtered. I would willingly pay the cup cost if it were a feature. Additionally, the redemption process is a little wonky. I was in the rewards center trying to redeem something that was in my cart. It kept telling me to add the item to my cart to redeem the coupon (free tea). When I got to the cart, it gave me the option again and it worked. Lastly, upon using the customization process I found the user is not able to specify the amount of an entree augmentation. For instance, I added a herb Mayo but I was not able to specify I wanted a little or extra. Same with the veggies. I don’t like a lot of tomato, but wasn’t able to select a light portion of tomato. The items that come on the sandwich have this step in the customization process.
Could be better. If you truly want to “reward” your customers you need to make it easy. Sheetz has the best reward system hands down. They ask you at check is you would like to redeem you points and it is automatic. FYI have you ever seen a Sheetz that is not busy? All of the chains have to make the redemption process easier. At some point in the ordering process ask do you want to redeem you points for … whatever you have enough points for. Customers will return more often if you make this easy.
So frustrated with the payment process on the app. It generally works well but for the last couple of weeks, I can’t get to either of my credit cards to pay. My only option is to add another card, but I don’t want to. And I can’t re-enter an existing card because it says it’s already there. I just can’t see it or use it. I also don’t like the rewards system. It’s clunky. The old system worked so well. Not sure why you changed it. Please please fix the payment process on the app.

Digital Gift Card is a rip off. About a year ago, I bought the gift card. I didn’t want it to be digital, but it ended up that way. Don’t ever ever ever buy the digital gift card. If the amount on your gift card is less than your purchase, it won’t let you use it, ever. I’ve tried for a year many times. I’ll forever have $7.65 on my gift card because no one will ever contact you or help you in anyway. The people at the store are fantastic, but the app is a rip off if you have a gift card .
Functions but unpleasant. The app has always been not great but a recent update has made it to where you have less than half the screen available to scroll the menu, where the other half is taken up by location settings, menu sections that could be placed in a drop-down or slide-out, etc, and a significant amount of unused space. At max you can see 3 items at a time while scrolling. 2 stars because at least you can actually place the order after scrolling for twice as long as necessary.
App needs a few additions. There definitely needs to be a place for order special notes on the app to cover things that can’t be customized. I don’t like paprika on my potato salad because they always put way too much but there’s no way to request it be left off on the app. Water needs to be added in the drink selections. Whenever I use the app to order table side, after I have finished placing the order I have to go to the counter to request water and tell them that I don’t want paprika on my potato salad.
Never works. It tells me it doesn’t go through 3x, get to restaurant and it went through 2 of those times. Every single time there is a problem ordering from the app, order won’t go through or payment. Now I can’t place an order because it says I have an order pending. Not sure from when haven’t used the app since October. Can’t clear it. Not worth the hassle. Delete.
Worse than ever!. The app used to be ok, it wasn’t the best ordering app I’ve used but at least I could customize anything. With this newest version I can no longer customize anything on the kids menu. What about my gluten sensitive nine year old? I’m not going to pay almost $8 for the “adult” grilled cheese just so she can have gluten free bread. Yeah, I could call my order in but the whole point of the app is so I don’t have to call. It’s not even user friendly. It doesn’t even fill my whole screen, I don’t have the biggest phone anyway and it cuts off the top and bottom of the screen making difficult to tell what you’re looking at. The rewards are nice but not worth dealing with a lousy app.
Lack of Rewards via App. I normally stop by my local restaurant at least 2 times per week and always order the same thing (4 teas). Under the old card program, rewards were easy to obtain and track. Since the switch to the app for reward tracking, I’ve likely missed out on at least 1 free tea per week for the past several months. I was told by the local store that the app has continued to experience issues and was being worked upon on at least 3 occasions (without ever being actually fixed). I also received an email stating that the app hasn’t been properly calculating rewards and I was to receive a free tea for my troubles. At the end of the day, If you’re going to have an app to track spend and purchases for rewards, it would be helpful if the app actually worked. If the app can’t be fixed, PLEASE go back to the old card program as the present app isn’t doing your organization any favors. Further, while I like your tea, I can go to other restaurants with customer reward programs that actually work.
Love the Restaurant, Hate the App. This app is terrible! I have to update it every time I try and use it. It will never allow me to select the dressing that I like because it’s never an option. And it never allows me to switch out the meat chili for veggie chili. It always adds an up charge. Too difficult and too much of a headache to deal with. I would order more often if I could get the app to work properly. BOOOO!
Bring back the old app format!. This new format is confusing and makes it harder to customize items. When I click “no lemon for me” in the iced team section, it shows up on the order screen as “remove no lemon for me.” So confusing... And the option for pick up time is ridiculous. In the past, when I would select “now,” it would be ready in 20 minutes. Now, the soonest I can have my order ready is in 35 minutes?! The new format definitely makes me less likely to order McAlisters when I’m looking for something quick... and McAlisters is our go-to place when we don’t want to cook at home. 😒
Looks great. Not sure if it’s user error or what. But just tried to do a reorder from the last order I placed. It appeared to be from a secondary location that I wanted to use this time. I get there and they have no record. I thought the app malfunctioned so ordered again. Only to get the confirmation email after I left and it actually placed the order with the store I utilized with the initial order. Just something to keep in mind for the next update and I’ll be more careful when I place a reorder.
No Soup For You. I’ve had problems with the app a couple times in the recent past. Once my order got cancelled after I had placed the order. I got a push notification saying my food was ready, but at the restaurant they said the order had been cancelled. No reason given. Another recent time the app wouldn’t let me order soup. I thought I was reliving the Soup Nazi episode of Seinfeld.
iPad App NON FUNCTIONAL. DO NOT DOWNLOAD. We used to order exclusively off the iPad so we could easily see & customize menu options. Update rendered iPad completely non-functional since now there is NO MENU displayed under that tab. App Home Screen is beautiful. But NO WAY to order without a menu. I have been writing & requesting feedback and/or fixing from within app for more than 6 months. No reply. No improvements. Finally decided to leave my 1st App review ever HERE since ya’ll ain’t listening to me. Deli is great. iPhone app great if you’re not a senior & can see. iPad App is a brick taking up space on your iPad. Can’t understand why they won’t fix this when it used to work beautifully.
Love McAlisters but app could use some work. When I go to the app and order a salad, on some screens there’s no way to add extra dressing. Also when you choose a spud it charges for cheese on the plain spud but on other spuds with meat and cheese it already has the cheese with no extra charge. Also I wish there was a way to add a pickle spear to all entrees not just sandwiches. Overall the app is convenient to make a quick to go order but there could be a lot of changes made to the modification screens.
No pickles. I love mcalisters. I order off of the app 2-3 times a week and I never used to have a problem. With one of the newer updates I couldn’t click to remove the pickle anymore. That was okay because there was a comment section where I could specify “no pickle” and they still got it right 90% of the time. Now that comment box is gone! Why can’t I remove pickle the normal way/ why can’t I add a comment to my order anymore? Is having the option to remove the pickle too much to ask? Please fix this because mcalisters is my favorite!!
A lot of kinks. I have tried to scan receipts for past purchases where I forgot to scan my app and it gives me an error that my receipt total has to be more than $.51. My total was over $20. I am trying to place an order now for kids meals and when I choose chips it tells me I need to select a chip flavor even though I have one already chosen. It’s very disappointing that McAlisters can’t get an app figured out. I am addicted to their tea and buy it by the gallon multiple times a week and can’t get rewarded for it because everything seems broken. I wish they still had those stupid punch cards I had to carry around.
If I could give 0 stars I would.. I absolutely would love to have McAlister’s more often. I’m a very busy single mom who doesn’t always have the time to dine in. So many eateries have made it so convenient, yet McAlister’s falls behind. I would like to just be able to place a simple order for pick up. The app is the slowest food app I have ever come across. I have started an order only to have to place an order at a different place. I have deleted the app and installed once again in hopes of improvement but left disappointed again. You’re losing customers! I agree with another user, take advice from Chik-Fil-A they never disappoint. Even Newk’s ahead.
Need better customization. I was excited to read that the new update had better customization, but was disappointed that it’s the same it always was. There is nowhere to type special instructions, so every time I order through the app, I have to call the location and ask for extra-crispy bacon and no green onions on the potato soup. Please make a place for special instructions like this! Also, an app option to order an iced tea refill in the special cup I bought from you would be great!
Service fees on their own app. I placed an order for pickup from the store via their own app and saw a service fee attached. After emailing them about it, their response was that it helps cover the cost of digital orders. I’m not sure why a business would think this is okay in any way. Apps are designed to bring people into the store that would not have otherwise came in with deals, promotions and ease of use. Why would I ever want to pay a service fee to use your own app to purchase food from you that I still go inside to pickup? I won’t be buying from McAlister’s anymore until the greed fee is removed.
Need additional options. I have a refill tumbler and there was no option to order on the app. Also, I occasionally like to order the half size of salad— the choose 2 size but all I want is salad. That is not available in the app. I would use the app more if it had these additional features to make my order more accurate to my desires.
Great!. Why do people post such awful hateful reviews? Keep it to yourself! I’ve ordered McAllisters several time both pick up and delivery, the service has always been absolutely the best, courteous and quick to go out of their way to please, in fact I forgot to order a beverage and they were kind enough to go back and redeliver. The food has always been great and fresh! So leave your rude comments to yourself!!
App is so frustrating. First of all, if you buy a tea pass you can’t use that on an order plus use your points or another offer sent from the company. Utterly ridiculous. Second, for months now the app will only credit $4.99 for 1500 points that should be a free entree. I used to like this app until these things happened. Please fix! Also, I can’t change my own phone number because it says it’s already in use. I’ve had that number for years.
Waited way too long. Went to the McAllisters on 17 in Surfside. 2 people at the counter but no one was moving. I had 4 old people in front of me. The other girl was helping a couple. I waited for what felt like 10 minutes. Definitely close to it. No one moved. The old people were wandering around talking amongst themselves, getting menus from the front. But no progress. The girl taking their order wasn’t inputting anything. There was a 3rd woman (maybe a manager) that was at the counter but did nothing to help the disorganization. I had to walk out. I’ll try them again but if this is the norm, then I’ll skip them.
Mostly OK. It’s mostly and ok app. A lot of times it gets to the payment screen and doesn’t load the payment options already saved and I have to back out and try again. This has happened to several friends too, so it’s not just me. I also don’t like how I can’t specify things. Like I love the Caesar salad but when I ask for extra dressing, there’s nowhere to indicate how much, either through clicking or additional comments. When I want extra dressing, I’m talking like double what they give me or even more since I’ve been receiving less lately.
No Rewards For You!. Seems that McAlisters has done away with their rewards system. I spend a lot of money at their stores but get zero rewards now. I used to get free tea, sandwiches and other items which kept me coming back. Those are gone now. I don’t know if it’s a functional issue with development in the app or they’ve just taken rewards away. All I know is that one of the local franchise owners has told me it’s been a problem for a long time but corporate is either incompetent or doesn’t care. The find store functionality in the app is junk too. I live about 8 miles away from the nearest location but the app is too stupid to find it since the developer has set the search radius to just a few miles.
Horrible app. As it looks by the recent reviews, I’m not the only one with app issues. This is bad for McAlisters Deli.. I’ve tried to order through the app twice now in the past 2 weeks. Both times it tells me something I ordered isn’t available. Now, this time I spend 5 minutes trying to modify the items in the “cart”... all to find out there is absolutely NO WAY to view the cart once this message populates. I tried just a simple order of a sweet tea and I can see the cart.. this app is junk! Period. McAlisters unfortunately lost about $100 worth of money since I usually order for 4-5 people each time I order. Oh well, they won’t get me to waste my time for the third time. Bye Felicia!
Cannot use my email address or phone number. I am unable to use my email address or phone number to create a “new” account for this rewards app as advised on the app and on the macalisters website. I get the error message “already taken” , well yes I had an account before on the website, I am not going to get a new phone number or a new email address just to sign up again. In the mean time I have been unable to collect rewards for all my over the phone purchases. Over the phone because I cant sign up on the app, and Ordering on the website is a pain and the site always freezes/crashes. Please fix this problem.
Disappointing Pickup. I ordered a sandwich to be picked up by a friend who was out & near the store. I put my order in his name so he would have an easier time picking it up. It somehow made things worse. My name was on file instead. They didn’t want to check the phone number associated with the order. They wanted the order number which was like 20 numbers. The staff was also really rude to him & tried to make him feel dumb when they didn’t bother to check any alternative credentials. I really like McAlister’s sandwiches so I was genuinely disappointed that the pickup experience was such garbage. I won’t be doing that again.
Inconsistent App. Sometimes the app works great…other times it essentially falls apart when I’m about to submit my payment, especially the tip section. It’s frustrating to put everything in, and then if I choose not to tip (which I don’t on carry out orders unless they’re massive, and they never are) or hit other to try to get around it, the app refuses to continue. But if you leave it at the default 15% or go up to 20% it’s completely fine. Seriously, it’s not only frustrating, but it’s also kind of sketchy when it does that.
Freezes and then closes. I have not been able to order anything on the app for several months. I reached out to customer service and their concern was more that I had an issue with the restaurant. The employees have nothing to do with the app and are always super helpful, but the problem still has not been fixed. Fix the app please!! I hate having to call it in or do it through the browser.
Poor Service. I do not understand how the lack of service at this store has gone on so long without any changes. I love their products but I am done. They stopped their drive up a year ago, forcing you to order ahead which is inconvenient. Today I placed our order around 10:30am. The app said our order would be ready at 10:50am. I knew that wouldn’t happen so I ran a couple of errands and arrived at 11:01 and waited till 11:16 till my order was ready. The food was outstanding, however unfortunately for you there are many other options with similar quality of food and much better service.
Food great. Can’t scan barcodes. I got a New Yorker and tomato cucumber salad Sweet tea. It was great !!! I’m in rehabilitation center just been released from hospital. First decent meal in over 2 weeks. Your. Greer store just opened. Happy to see it on. Door Dadh menu. I signed up for rewards. I scanned to scan square can’t find a barcode on receipt. Maybe had something to do with Door Dash I plan to be regular customer. I use DD since I’m immobile. Will. I not get points ? Welcome to. Greer SC MARCIA Young
Horrible customer service. I ordered my food through the app and received a pick up time of 6:50. When I arrived to pick it up I was told “we’re still working on it”. Several customers arrived after that time and ordered in store but somehow received their orders before me. Finally at 7:20 my order was placed in the pick up area instead of my name being called even with staff knowing I was there to pick it up. I finally went to ask about my order and the staff member just said “oh here”. No apology for me having to wait an additional 30 minutes or for my order just being placed in the pick up area. This was such an unprofessional and unpleasant visit.
Fee for using app. Everything with the app is more or less what you'd expect, except that they charge you $0.35 hidden in a "taxes and fees" section each time you place an order. You only know it's a fee if you click for more details. I don't know any other company that charges you to use their own app. Also, if you're going to charge a fee, be upfront about it. The order navigation could be better. If you go to checkout and then want to add something to the order, it is tough and non-intuitive to get back to the menu. You don't get your $.35 worth.
Can’t change items in cart before selecting time to pickup. This app is frustrating. I finished selecting my order, go to try to select a time and it won’t let me select a time because some of the items in my cart are not available at the location I selected (doesn’t tell me which ones). No big deal. Except it’s telling me to change the items in my cart and I can’t figure out how to see my cart. You normally don’t see your items in your cart until the end of the checkout process. And it doesn’t show up in order history because I’m assuming it doesn’t assign an order number until your card is charged. Now I can’t even figure out how to delete this order in limbo.
Great app until the newest update. I used this app all the time to order and it really saved me time. Just tried to place an order and it says my McAlister’s doesn’t have an item I ordered. A half a chef salad and veggie soup (which they have everyday)?! Why do I find that highly improbable? Also, the “reward” of soup and salad for $6 gives you an online or counter option but then says “Oops...doesn’t work for online”. I hope they can fix this quickly because it could potentially be as good as it was WITH rewards again. Update: App has improved some but it’s still very slow and buggy sometimes.
To go order today. Absolutely the slowest service I have EVER experienced at any McAlisters. I placed an online order that said would be ready at 4:40. My order confirmation said my order was ready at 4:49—wrong! I finally got my order at 5:15 after threatening to cancel. There were about 10 or 12 others waiting for to-go orders and they had the same experience that I had. There were no explanations or apologies for why everything was so slow, that may have helped. No offers of a discount, coupon to use later or even a free cookie while we were waiting. I’ve been a McAlisters customer for years but right now, I’m very dissatisfied.
Pick up inside?. When order placed option to cancel or pick up inside. No option to pick up in drive through which I know I can do. My foot is broken. Has to be through drivethru. Was pretty frustrating placing the order because I tried several times. Even entered a different card because I was thinking maybe something was wrong with the first card I tried to pay with. 😏
Difficult App to Navigate. Why can’t I change the McAlister’s location for order pick up? It’s very frustrating to have to walk in the deli and ask a manager to show me how to do that and THEY DON’T KNOW! Also, it appears I have messages from the deli when I see the icon on my phone’s home page, but there’s no where within the app to check them. I’ve tried deleting the app and reinstalling and it doesn’t help. Trying to save time by ordering online has only added more time than I can afford on my lunch break. I guess it’s time to find a new favorite lunch place. 😢
Getting worse w/ time. App started out passable at best. It often freezes and is not intuitive. Now, there is little to no option to customize - I want extra dressing - no where to customize that on the app. I want 2 lemons with my tea - no where to customize that either. And, any previous rewards are now non-existent. Even when trying to utilize the scan in the store I was told that has been down for a long time. At least w/ my punch cards I could get a free tea every now and again. Worst food app I have and actually had lead to me going to McAlister’s less frequently than before.
Love the food hate the app. I really enjoy the food. I am disabled so I always order pickup because it’s just easier. But using the app to order is a horror show. I usually get so frustrated trying to order from the app I just quit and order from somewhere that has a working app. If I use the app at home using my wifi it’s fine, but if I’m out and I try ordering using data the app just spins and tells me there is no internet service. That’s even when I have full bars of service.
Go back to punchcard reward system. I don’t care for this app for rewards system at all. Will show I have rewards and no expiration date usually. And then they just disappear. Or like a day ago it showed I had 2 free teas and said 4 days left. Well today they are gone as well. Very disappointing when I’ve been waiting for a long time for them to restart a rewards program of some kind. Especially since I am a very frequent customer. I will have to look elsewhere to satisfy my tea addiction it seems unless McAlisters steps their game up... this is unacceptable 😑 and I am seeing this is a recurring problem with others as well. 👎🏼👎🏼
FRUSTRATED. It won’t let you see their freaking menu if the restaurant is not currently open!!!!! I don’t care if it’s cloooosed. I want to plan ahead and see what I want to order for when I get there! I have kids. I can’t be standing in line waiting. I need to know what everyone wants so when we get to the front of the line where we can actually see the menu, I can just spit the order out and not THEN have to stand there for another 10 minutes and decide what we want. I’m really frustrated by this. It’s an APP! Why can’t you see the menu AT ALL TIMES????
Can’t log in. I’ve tried logging in but it only will allow me to log in via FB. I don’t want to use a third party app to log in. I’ve tried resetting my password but nothing works. I’ve reached out via their contact us page, but got no response. I tried calling their 888 number and the response was “we’re sorry there is no one available to help you now. You’re welcome to call back.” I made this call at 1:00pm on a Monday. So it seems there is no customer support. I may discontinue eating at McAlisters if they are forcing a customer to log in via FB and I can’t get it resolved.
This app is complete garbage. Downloaded the app because I thought it would be easier when ordering pick up orders, but I was very wrong. I placed an order for pick up and got a confirmation email and everything saying my order was received and when I got there I was waiting forever for my food to be ready and they finally helped me and said that they didn’t even get an order under my name at all. I checked the restaurant to make sure that I made it with the right restaurant and I did. They told me they could make it for me right there, but I was in a hurry that’s why I had placed a mobile order in the first place so I wasn’t going to wait for it.
Love the place but app needs work. McAlisters is one of our favorite places in our area and we love being able to order on the app and pickup. But how has the app not figured out how to enable gift cards as part of the payments section? This has been a problem for years now and it shouldn’t be hard to figure out. Want to keep getting gift cards to the place but if I’m limited in how I can use them, then I’ll stop. Update: Still have not fixed payments section, try to add a card, but it kept telling me the card already existed when it was not selectable in my payments. Fix this junk app!
Needs a delete pickup. I wanted to look at the menu, but I had to choose between pickup or delivery. I chose a pickup time and day, which I didn’t want, and now 9 days later that same pickup day still shows. Why can’t I just delete it? Also, I’m rewards driven. Give me a coupon for $2-3 off a combo or a sandwich and I’m probably coming in. But those coupons have disappeared. The $2 off $25 coupon just keeps appearing with a new expiration date every week; that’s great for families, but not singles.
The app not worth much if it doesn’t let you in.. Updated the app as the FAQ indicated. Tried signing in. It said “oops an error try later”. Tried changing the password. Two different times. Both times it said it was changed successfully. Tried signing in again. App said same error “oops an error try later”. Tried again later, about 6 different times over the next 4 hours, just kept getting the same error. Tried setting up a new account using a different email address. Wouldn’t let me because the phone number is “already in use”. Obviously you just don’t want me to order online or earn any rewards. Very frustrating!
App NEVER seems to work. This app never functions properly. Rewards are also far and few between. I miss the Tea Cards and getting them punched at visits. I love McAlister’s, but this app is a major failure. Half the time, if you add further instructions on the order, they’re not followed. For example, I always get my sweet tea without ice and specify that on the app, and they will inevitably put ice in it. Or when I ask for no green onions on a spud because I’m allergic to them, and then my food has them anyway. Surely there’s a way to streamline this and have it work?? Also, just today I was going to mobile order and redeem a free soup that popped up earlier, but the app crashed and I lost the reward! Fix it.
Very aggravating to use.. Be careful when ordering if your city has more than one location. I was sitting at a table pressed table side at the location I was at. Ordered my food and at the end of it it said “pick up from ____” which was the location completely across town. This isn’t the first time it’s changed the location midorder. Check, double check, triple check your location!
Needs Customized. While I’m thankful to have a functioning app again and for their rewards, the app leaves a lot to be desired. To start I show that I have notifications in the app and cannot get that to go away although I’ve looked through every section of the app. The app tells you if the location is available for table side, curbside and/or pick up station, yet I can’t actually choose to order for table side. As others have mentioned, if a condiment is already part of the item then you can choose regular or extra but not light or on the side. However, if you’re adding to the item you cannot adjust the amount at all. Likewise I am unable to request light or extra ice for my beverage or a cup of water versus a bottle of water. Likewise the functionality of the rewards and having to select them first versus them applying to what is in your cart is frustrating.
Rewards. I have been enjoying eating McAlisters since they came to our area. I enjoyed the rewards program they had in the beginning when you purchased some many meals you got one free or mine was the gallons of tea I would by so many the get one free. Then they went to new rewards program and I have never received another gallon of tea. I have stopped buying the gallons of tea and now the rewards program does not work at all kind of sad I value companies that reward me.
