I used to love this app… now too many popups. I used to use this for all of my local news but now there are so many pop-ups I spend most of my time shutting the multiple windows or redirecting back to the News app from Safari (which it forces you to go to). I’m hoping in a future release they allow you to disable the pop-ups. Until then I won’t be using it anymore.

Stories Not Available TOO QUICKLY. Too often, in fact, most often when I open an alert on my cell about a news story posted that same day has already been removed. Very frustrating. It’s so frequent, I’ve learned to not even bother trying to access the story older than a day using the KRON app and look for the story elsewhere. It’s getting so bad I’m even thinking of even deleting the app.

The worst. This is probably one of the worst apps out here. You can easily set it up to get alerts, but then when you try to actually watch the live stream they are alerting you to it simply does not work. When trying to get updates on the Napa fire I got a notification that there’s a Cal fire press conference but the app does not connect at all even with a perfect high-speed Internet connection The app ought to be scrapped and rewritten. Do not rely on it if you are trying to get any kind of news

Good - glitchy scrolling. This is the only news app that jitters when scrolling through a news story. iPhone 12 Pro. Can you correct?

Good – plus a suggestion. Would be great if you could cover the towns and counties that have and continue to fight the 5G microwave radiation street antennas being forced upon us by the FCC and Telecom. Interview Dr. Joel Moskowitz at UC Berkeley (Public Health) for starters. And Dr. Paul Heroux (McGill U.) At what point do you side with your viewers versus your advertisers, is the question I hope you ask. Please don’t sell us out by ignoring this most important ongoing development! .

Freezes Often. I like the app and content. However, it freezes quite often and I have to close the app and reopen to finish an article. Super frustrating when you are just trying to get a quick update.

Black Screen commercials. Why, when I am scrolling through a news article, does it go to a unseen commercial that I can’t shut off? I deleted and later reinstalled the app, hoping it was a update thing. Unfortunately I am going to need to delete the app unless this is resolved.

News quality is fine, but app is terrible. Forces video.. This app repeatedly springs open up articles with video, and the only way to get the video to stop is to close out of the app altogether. Sometimes the video springs up when you are midway through reading an article, and there’s no way to read the rest of the article. Video content should be clearly marked, and there should be a way to stop video within the app, or even better, opt out of all video content. There’s a dearth of quality print news in the Bay Area, and I was hoping this app would fill the gap. No such luck. I deleted the app.

They broke swiping - dang. The app doesn't support swiping through the news reports. I need to go back to the front page and select the next article from there. I hope that isn't intentional because I really like this app and I use it all the time.

No option to opt OUT of videos. And freezes!. This is the most difficult news app I’ve ever used. Not only does it CONSTANTLY freeze in middle of articles where I have to shut down app and try again, I REALLY feel I should be able to simply read an article WITHOUT being subject to the accompanying video. The video says “tap to watch”, but that’s not true. Videos start automatically each and every time I start reading. THUS, my family is awoken and I have to quickly punch my phone volume to mute it. Not ok to project noise without my consent. But that’s what this app does. So frustrating with KRON4. I emailed your news station with plea for assistance on how to opt out of auto video, but never heard back. Is it only me that has this issue?

We love the KRON 4 News morning team’s coverage. We wake up each weekday to Daria, James, John, Robin, Will, and all the other reporters out in the field. We also line to watch weekends with Marty & Dave. We love the local coverage and counted on you for our news when we had the wildfires these past several years. John & Heidi Healdsburg, CA

Traffic updates. Appreciate updates. Would like specific freeway , or corridor updates as an option.

App needs work. Really wish there were more customization options for notifications by topic or regions of the Bay Area. I get so many KRON4 notifications that aren’t relevant to what I need to know or care about. The app is also glitchy sometimes, such as the videos don’t play right, even if I’m connected to good WiFi.

Constantly freezes. I love your news station and the app is good if it would stop freezing. I would give you five stars if it stops on the next update. I always have to restart it and sometimes more than once

While reading an article of news. Disappointing! While reading a news article while scrolling down, it turns black and talking of a different article plays out loud. Kron4 mobile news seem to always has some type of issues when just trying to read one of the articles.

News. I love this app for my news & the traffic it lets me see what is going on all day long and let’s me no what my commute looks like this is the Best Dam APP 4 my news thank you and the developers of this app. I love KRON4 thank you🌎

Deleting app. It's impossible now to look at an article without sound from some video arbitrarily blaring out. And the constant ads that take me away from the article I'm reading are so annoying. I like the articles but your app gets one star. I was willing to put up with the ads but the blaring sound is it for me. I'm done.

I Love KRON4. I so appreciate getting local news and at a very reasonable subscription price. However I find it difficult to negotiate my way around the app. I’ll get a news flag on my front screen and it does not open to that article directly & it is not necessarily intuitive where to look for it. Also, I’m not sure if it’s the app or my phone but the videos time out so I don’t use them. Regardless, thank you KronOn!

App continuously disconnects when casting to a TV. App works great on its own but when trying to cast to a tv through a google Chromecast the news livestream constantly disconnects and I have to go back in the app to re cast the livestream.

KRON 4 News App. Overall a clean interface where I can get my daily “news fix at-a-glance.” Ads are not hovering all over the pages, unless you link deeper to other stories. It is frustrating when the news headlines main page dynamically refreshes itself. It hurts my eyeballs, as the headline I was just reading moved to another location on the page, and continues to move unless I click on it to read. Again, this KRON 4 app is good for a quick overview of the day’s headlines.

Needs more customizable notifications. Way too many notifications, especially now with the COVID-19 coverage. I’m getting an alert every time a new death or increase in cases (both of which are to be expected) is reported in the state. This is a serious situation, but we can’t be bombarded with it 24/7 at such a degree. I’d like to still receive notifications, but there’s no way for me to differentiate alerts from breaking news such as new restrictions or laws, from updates every 20 minutes on the count of cases.

Volume control. I like to read or watch about our local news, but exactly as another reviewer complained about is the lack of volume control to mute the ad that plays whenever there is a video attached to the article. There is no volume control until the actual news clip starts and makes me not want use this app because of it.

I would recommend kron. Kron 4 is a very good app and it’s where I get my local news coverage. The only problem that I have with the app is that sometimes when I read the news it plays the video coverage in the background without me hitting play and I don’t like that. Otherwise, it does it’s job well.

On top of it. Frequently I try to see current events on local news apps and I find that channel 4 is the fastest to cover things that are happening at the moment.

Notifications mysteriously keep reenabling. The app is good for the most part, but once a week or so I notice that more and more non-important alerts keep popping up in my notifications. I go into the app, and, sure enough, alerts like “Trending Now” are reenabled automatically. I shut them all off except for “News Alerts” and the process repeats itself later. It’s getting very annoying. I’m still keeping an eye out for a better local news app that doesn’t spam me with superfluous notifications in attempts to harvest more clicks.

Someone in Marketing Needs to Get A Grip. This app is horrible. Have been trying to stream from the East Coast to get updates on the fires as family and friends are in the line of fire in NoCa. This app keeps running the same 2 commercials for KRON 4 over and over and over and over again every few, very few, minutes. I mean over and over and over again. It is bizarre. Makes it unwatchable. What is their marketing department thinking?

Charges. What’s with the chargers to watch online? I won’t pay I’d rather watch a free bay area station online to watch the news. Don’t use this app

Can’t Silence the Ads. This is as annoying as it gets. You open an article and there’s an advertising video at the top that’s set with the sound on and you can’t silence it or stop the ad. In addition to the pure annoyance it can be embarrassing depending on where you’re at when it happens. I understand the need for advertising revenue but not when it completely ruins the user experience. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!!!

Mahalo!. KRON does a great job of broadcasting the latest Fire & evacuation info during wildfires. This BayA Native is able to monitor & share info with loved ones on social media from my iPad on Maui. Friends in NorCal can download app & watch when the power is out if they have cell coverage or wi-fi. Great community service! Highly recommended and appreciated.

Kron 4News app. My kron 4 news app froze up and it is really annoying and it really needs to get fixed right now

Decent app. Couple of fixes needed. When PUSH notifications are sent ... MANY times the article isn’t even on the app/website yet. Don’t send notifications out, unless the story is available. It’s lame to click on it and then ... nothing. App is crashing — LOTS lately — on iOS.

Fan. Without a doubt the most informative news network for the bay area Xfinity stop broadcasting this news network in Fairfield I do not know why but it is a shame any big mistake

Very buggy but OK for being free. The app bogs down until it freezes half the time that I use it. It’s also super annoying that when scrolling down it will reset the timeline and send me back to the top. I then have to scroll all the way back down to where I was. Happens quite a bit. I do like that it’s free and keeps me up to date on the run, so 3 stars for that!

Horrible auto play commercials. I have turned off the auto play of videos in the settings and they still turn on. Is this a way to for the app to get money from ads? They won’t stop playing. A truly horrible experience and they have the most articles locally. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app to no avail. Until the auto play of videos is fixed, definitely a 1 star or less (if I could) app.

Television news streaming is wonderful. It’s a great luxury to watch streaming news on my laptop I’ve always enjoyed watching channel 4! Keep up the great work hey!

Same complaint as everyone else. I just want to quietly read the local news, but the app constantly opens videos without being prompted to do so. The video opens and even if you close out the video, the sound of the video keeps playing and the only way to stop it is to either close the app or turn the phone volume all the way down. This is incredibly annoying when you just want to read some news. I wish the developers cared about this, but it appears they don’t.

Absolutely the BEST News Program in the Bay Area!. While visiting friends in Glen Ellen, I enjoyed watching your news program...it reminded me sooo much of our news station back in Hawaii....Because of that, and the fact that I had a great time in Northern California, I decided to add the app for KRON4 NEWS to both, my IPhone and IPad....that way I’ll always be connected in someway to the Bay Area and to my friends in Glen Ellen.

Traffic cams. I like the app but like on the traffic cameras like bay bridge toll plaza and stuff like that how come they are still images why aren’t they like a live video like how they are when. They show them on the news on tv ? Can you please update that? Now why should I have to subscribe just to live stream the news that’s just ridiculous!! Now I give you two stars!

Ads and stuff. Repeating the same ad over and over. Try to link to a story and again. Bombed by an ad. This is not a news source. It’s home shopping network disguised as news. The overly left slanted stories are more like CNN. I want facts with my news not social commentary that is one sided. Not that FOX is any better. Just the same in the other direction. Not happy with the app at all.

Cancelling Option for Dan Mateo. I do not understand why KRON is cancelling their alliance with the service provider that connects lower income people to KRON. Many can not afford the high prices of cable/Comcast/ Direct/etc. So they have to subscribe to lower tier services. Now KRON is cutting ties so these people will not be getting this news info. Why??

Why doesn’t picture in picture work. Not a bad app but needs some work. It would be nice if they can get picture in picture to work.

Great local news. I love KRON4 news. I watch it everyday and I’m so glad we can watch it on our devices. It gives me important updates on what’s going on locally and not local. When I can’t get to a tv I get it on my device. Thank you!!

App getting worse. Definitely not liking the new design. Every time I finish reading the article and click back, it goes back to the main page and I have to reclick and scroll through the headlines all over again instead of going back to where I left off. Leaving for another alternative news app.

Informed and Prepared. Thank you for all the local and national news events. Everything from traffic to weather is greatly appreciated by my family as well as my self. Clickbait Notifications. This app regularly sends notifications with story headlines, but the corresponding stories are nowhere to be found when you tap the notification and open the app. Seems as if they’re trying to utilize clickbait to get users to open the app, which is frustrating and a waste of time.

Application is a perpetual glitch. It’s like an 80’s application, I’ve downloaded the app in my fire stick to watch the news but it gets stuck every 5 minutes and right now I have 30 minutes in silence watching the Traffic, is like a horror movie and I’ll be on it in 30 minutes when I start driving to work!

Commercials. I have always loved the great coverage that KRON4 has to offer. But lately I am irritated by the commercials that pop up on the top of the screen. I don’t mind that they are there and I understand the business purpose of the existence. My issue is the automatic volume that comes blaring on. I read the news in the morning and cannot see more about the subject because I can’t control the sound or level until I can hit the off button ASAP. I have woken up children and spouse due to this unasked for interruptions. I find it so irritating that I don’t sang to read the articles any more.

Local News. I like your local news. Every once in a while though, your liberalism comes through and it usually makes me change the channel.

uncontrollable ADs. I love their news contents but ads are all over and starts video ads uncontrollably. Can’t read news with this app at night because those pop up ads wake my family up. Too bad…

Love KRON 4 news. I enjoy KRON 4 news, it keeps me abreast with daily news and when there is just in news, I get the minute to minute updates.

On time update. Good job on a well updated news locally.

Notifications. I am deleting this app because it always turns on notifications for certain pieces of news such as traffic alerts even when I turn it off. It’s been too much of a hassle and it makes me receive over 50 notifications as I sleep

Terrible performance. I have had this app for several years and multiple updates. I like the content and don’t mind the ads but on my phone the app hangs almost every time I use it. Also the scrolling is very ragged unlike any other app I have used. Needs some work.

Sound?. Good coverage, but accompanying sound for videos seems hit or miss. This isn’t a problem with my ABC 7 app or other news apps, so not sure what’s going gonna with the KRON app.

Video does not work. A few weeks ago the app stopped being able to play videos. I updated the app, still doesnt play videos. I can read the stories but cannot play the videos of the stories. Super frustrating.

Awful app. I love local news but will stick with the KTVU app. KRON app is very frustrating. You cant just read an article without having to stop the video attached. Many times you cant skip the ad or even stop the video. almost as if it freezes on you. Have been patient but will now delete the app until they fix it.

Visuals don’t line up with sound. Yet another day when none of what is on the screen is what is being presented verbally. And not just for a a few minutes- this lasts for beyond a reasonable amount. How can you be so slow to respond to a problem and have it happen over and over again. Really bad!

Turn off the volume!. I just want to read the article & not hear whatever video or ad you want to play. My mute button is on & the only way to eliminate the sound is to turn the volume all the way down! It’s very disruptive & am ready to remove this app.

Videos playing while I’m trying to read an article. Why in the heck is the app playing a video while reading an article. Makes no sense! If this is not fixed I’m deleting the app.

Whoever wrote the glorious info about your improvements needs to step out onto Market St and and under oath to tell the truth, watch someone try to use your app. Then that liar should be fired for perjury. How can you guys get any worse?!? First you won’t put up the scratch to stay an NBC affiliate and now we loyal KRON fans are given pig slop in the form of an app, not to mention the non professionals in San Jose.

Adds so important they open by themselves. I’m not here for the adds Forcing them to open and leave app on there own is not how I want to read the news fix or I will by never getting this app again

Commercials drive me crazy!. It is impossible to turn off the sound when commercials pop up. I had to switch to another news app because of this. Very annoying.

Marketing renders the app useless. Between the constant advertisements, random pop ups and other marketing techniques this tool has become one of the most frustrating news apps I have ever witnessed. I would almost be willing to pay very small nominal price to mitigate the barrage of marketing.

No audio. Any video has no audio. Also there commercials in every video gosh can we get the news and then play a ad. Some of these seem to be breaking news and we have to wait for advertising wow great. Also the app load time is not fast compared to other news apps.

Subscription?. I have been a user of the KRON4 News App for nearly 2 years and now I’m forced to subscribe to news that is free?? I don’t even know if my family is safe in the flood areas of Guerneville. This is a ridiculous thing to have concerned families pay/subscribe for to find out if their loved ones are alive.

Lake County. For some reason we always get left out of the news for Weather reports COVID-19 tier reports on the news that’s very disappointing this evening at my house in Kelseyville I have 2 1/2 inches of snow and it’s still coming down. Only reports are for the Bay Area why.

Review. Your channel is horrible for not giving all the people watching real news . I wanted to know about hunter Biden corruption! Not a word from you or any other news . The only reason I keep you is to see emergencies in California my parents live there. I know you will delete this but you asked:(

Horrible. I thought it was bad before but this is totally useless and filled with ads and glitches. I agree with everyone else who has given kron app 1 star.

Why bother. It’s basically a web experience with some junk wrapped around it. Not well designed. Video clips fail all the time. You are a SF Bay Area news station - would be great if you could tap into all the talent here and get a real app built that works.

Loving ur news nightly. I have always watched your news station. I love the people that work there and the good vibes I get from the newsroom. Keep going strong

App freezes constantly. Seems to be a recent issue but the app just freezes when reading an article. Only fix is to swipe up and close and reopen.

It mediocre. I check the news on my phone app everyday. To be honest the stories l seem to be very repetitive and a tad on the boring side. I prefer reading over watching the videos so I’m happy to have that option to say the least

What was wrong with the old app?. The font of the body of the article is way too narrow and faint to read for any amount of time. When reading at night the videos load unexpectedly, are way too loud, and wake up the one sleeping next to you! Can't wait for the next version.

Very buggy. I would have been a really good app but the live stream news is very buggy, it stops during the commercial but sometimes it won’t come back, and screen turns dark and won’t load anymore, every time they had an app update doesn’t seem to fix the problem.

Good source for local Bay Area news. I like the app gives me good local news

I hate it!!!. I hate the new update!! I used to love the last version before this new update. I loved that I can watch the news live from my phone with no issues. Now, every 5 seconds a stupid ad pops up and I can't even watch the news while I'm getting ready. Bring back the old version!

KRONON app. Unfortunately the app is spotty. I don't know who the content provider is but they have to do a better job of programming. Sometimes especially on the weekends get old news. The same news reel plays for 2-3 days.

Bay Area Strong. I love this app. It keeps me updated with my home town sports. I currently don’t live in SF. I can watch local sports updates. Thanks GO NINERS!!!WARRIORS!!!GIANTS!!!

Terribly unstable. KRON4 News is great to watch on TV and I was looking forward to being able to catch stories from my phone. Since installing this recently, however, I can barely read a single story before the app crashes. Some articles won’t open at all - app just crashes. Pretty disappointing and useless.

Always a Calfornian. Living in Texas now after retiring when I lived In Oakland. This app keeps me connected with RAIDER COUNTRY. App is organized with lots of pictures. Live coverage with Gary and Darla and Pam. I miss their new casts. They are the best!!!!!

Try Harder. To put it simply this station sends alerts for breaking news that has already transpired. They also provide links to live coverage that are absolutely not live. It’s recorded and replayed throughout the day. This is deceptive and should be criminal. Just another business disguised and a public service.

Constantly crashes!. Latest "bug fix" didn't! It didn't used to crash before. Now it is so frustrating to use that as soon as I finish writing this I am deleting the app.

To many ads. There are to many ads in the video portion. I mostly just want to read the news articles. The ads just start running and sometimes won’t stop. It interferes with trying to read the articles.
