Deleted the new version. I have always liked the newson 6 weather app until the newly released version. Absolutely hate it! Cant look at with a glance and the settings are difficult to engage “just right”. Pity the updated version caused a loyal user to delete. I will find a weather app that i love again but unfortunately it won't be this non user friendly version.

“Updated” App is Awful. The News on 6 has been my go to weather app for years...my only complaint was I felt you could add too few locations. The new app is terrible....talk about finding a solution to a problem that doesn’t exist! You can’t see the extended forecast on one screen anymore. The radar is terrible...I have no idea where they source it from. It’s useless and inaccurate. I’m staring out at sunny skies right now but per the new improved app it shows rain in Tulsa right now. 😂 I’m off to delete this and check out Channel 8.

Why did you fix what wasn’t broken?. I am echoing all of the recent reviews...why did you change the easy to read format to this immensely convoluted app? The old format was perfect, so much so that I had introduced friends and family to it to track the weather. We have ALL deleted the app since the update, it’s now completely useless. Please please please listen to the people taking time to leave reviews here and go back to the beautiful simplicity that was your prior design!

Can’t delete locations. I love this app, but there is a bug in it when you try and delete locations. When I travel I will add a location to watch weather when I am there. When I am no longer there I want to delete it. I can’t do it! I have to delete the app and then bring it back from the cloud and then it takes out all locations.

Fancy doesn’t equal better. App got fancy. That doesn’t mean it got better! Channel six use to have an awsome online radar years ago. Not any more. It’s the same watered down radar that everyone else has. How is it that the app radar and the radar on the tv looks different? How is it that I’m getting rained and hailed on but the app radar doesn’t show anything where I’m at???

Can’t change motivation sound. Can’t hear the motivation sound for warnings. Can’t change the sound it makes so can’t hear when sleeping. Use to be able to hear it.

Copy Cat App. I’m deleting this “new version” of the app because I’ve had this app since 2014, it’s called AT’s Weather App....except his has more notification options available in regards to weather events....a LOT more. Why should I now keep an app from a local station when they are copying the work from an app another meteorologist has worked hard to develop AND basically self funded for the last 5 years?!

New update is horrible. The new update is absolutely horrible. It’s incredibly difficult to find information, the radar is terrible and I really wish it was an option to uninstall the update. I will be deleting it and looking for a new weather app.

Weather is dramatically wrong. How can your stuff be so wrong and off? I had my weather radar on 24 hrs setting and it was 1000% different from reality. You all should be ashamed of all the money and time you’ve wasted on learning nothing and helping no one.

It was great before the update. I’ve used this app for years and have had no problems until the most recent update. The entire format changed making it difficult to navigate and the new weather map in itself is confusing. It’s hard to tell what colors mean what anymore and instead of being able to look at a legend to find out (like you could before), you have to click on an area within the watch/warning/advisory. So far these are the only problems I’ve found but they make it very frustrating to use.

News On Six Weather. I thought something was wrong with my phone when I look at my News on Six Tulsa Weather app which I do daily. It is absolutely horrible! It looks terrible. Very unappealing! I hate it. I go to another station app to see the weather now.

Used to love it. This used to be my favorite weather app because it was simple, easy to see everything, and had a radar. Since mine updated yesterday I have felt like it is hard to see what you need to know, especially at a glance (high and low temps for day and week) and the radar is extremely inaccurate. It was pouring yesterday and when I clicked on the radar it did not show anything there. I understand them wanting to update the look, but there was no need to mess with the functionality!

This version is awful. The old version was great. This version is awful! The radar rarely works as it should, and when it does, most often, it’s only showing a circular image. My son lives in OKC, and a lot of our storms come from there, but this radar very rarely now allows me to see the weather in the OKC area even though I have it pin marked. Like others, I now find myself using other sources for my weather, when used to be my only source. Very disappointing.

Use to be my favorite Weather App. I loved this app until it updated a few days ago! Not happy!!!!! I travel and I’m in a middle of a tornado WARNING and I got NO alert!!! Because it had updated and took away all of my settings! Thanks for the awful update... you took a great app that was wonderful and made it awful and so not user friendly.. And to think I was just telling family last week how wonderful this app is... for years it has kept me safe traveling. Not today it failed Very disappointed.

The app has some flaws!. This app is great when you need to see live streaming, unless of course you accidentally touch the screen and it goes right to a commercial; while they are giving live severe weather updates including tornado or high wind warnings. It is aggravating to have a commercial pop up when you are trying to see if your going to be getting potential damage or wiped off the map where you are. We all just love commercials; but fix the glitch that makes them pop up during live updates. Also you can’t delete tagged locations.

Impressively bad. By default, any time you open a notification from this app, it starts reading the weather alert in a synthesized voice. It’s not really any better than the native weather app, it’s not super reliable in terms of timely notifications, the ads are ridiculous, and there are so many design choices that can only be described as odd. Not worth your time.

It’s really good. It’s easy to use and I can put in peoples locations even if they’re not in Oklahoma and it’ll give me alerts for them. I love it.

Absolutely hate this update. I would give it 0 stars if it were an option. It is not user friendly. I have used the other version for years. I even used it to monitor the voice notifications for weather alerts for my elderly mother in Oklahoma when I moved to Arkansas and also for my locations when traveling.

Very Informational, a must have. This app is extremely informational. The dislike ratio is not understood. It is very easy to navigate and has an abundance of options. The radar has customizable options that are valuable and not unnecessary. It has a 24 hour radar option which I adore. You can set up to 16 locations in the Alerts tab and customize the alerts you receive. There are 60+ alerts available that you can switch on or off. It has anything from the extremely important tornado alert to heat advisory or thick fog or freeze advisory. The Weather tab has a complete weekly forecast with an abundance of information below each day. I love this must have app to keep me up to speed on the weather or potentially dangerous storms!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Bad weather app. Channel 6 definitely went the wrong direction when supposedly improving the weather app , I agree with so many other people the radar is definitely a disaster, now you have to go to fox or other apps to see what is happening.

Update is worthless!. Whoever designed the update should be fired if not drug out in the street. The previous version worked great and gave you all the info you needed quickly. The radar worked awesome. Now you can see a 7 day forecast without scrolling through a bunch of crap and the radar omg is it useless. Pathetic updated and will be deleted when I find a replacement. Travis don’t stand for this crap!! Get it fixed!

Update is crap. I use to use this app daily for quick weather update and hour by hour weather and wind speeds it wasn’t the most accurate but it was close now it’s slow and got to move to different screens to get all info I need congratulations u ruined a good app I’m deleting after this review Fox 23 weather app a lot better!

Change it back!. The new weather app is horrible. It’s confusing and makes no sense. I don’t understand the daily forecast, and why they changed it to the confusing mess it is now. They show the temperature but no heat index on the front page. You have to tap the front page and it takes you to another page which shows you all the info you used to get just by opening the app, and the temperature is 4 or 5 degrees different than other apps. I used to use the channel 6 weather app exclusively but not anymore.

Bye bye.. Im going to channel 23 your older app was so much better, this is slow radar loads slow, radar slider is so small I keep adding a new location because I can’t hit the forward arrow. So sad I’ve been a fan of channel 6 for over 30 years. You’ve had many responses that people were not happy, I vote with my feet. Im going to delete this app after this is posted.

Update is awful!. The old app was so much better, I hate that you can’t see the 7 day forecast on one screen. With the 7 day being all black and white it’s harder to see and know what each day is and why is it broken down by day and night?!? The radar takes so much longer to load because it goes back 1.5 hrs in time. It’s nice to know that but is it necessary...can there be a setting to change that.

Update ruins app. The new look of the app makes it nearly unusable. With the new layout and the ad at the bottom, the user has about one half-inch to read the forecast and scroll ahead to read future forecasts. Too much wasted space in the new design! And stop tracking me, the privacy disclosures are disturbing. Getting a new app for local weather!

It wasn’t broken until it was fixed. CHANNEL 6 app developers PLEASE HEAR OUR CRIES: THE NEW RADAR IS VERY HARD TO NAVIGATE! The old app was my go to. Easy to read, easy to see the roads/cities. This app update is AWFUL. Looks “fancy” but is useless in a pinch. My son is the only one who hasn’t updated this app and I have forbidden him too because if I am in a closet trying to figure out if we are in the direct path of a tornado, I DONT NEED TO SSE THE LAST 30 MINUTES OF RADAR. I want to see my location RIGHT NOW. (And be able to see the roads, etc...can’t see them any more with the yellow and red shading that completely blocks them out.) ALSO, every time I touch the screen a pin drops with the location I tapped. & the only way I can delete the pin, that I didn’t want in the first place, is to go to the menu & put the new location in the trash can. Really, we don’t need fancy. We just need it to work which is why it was my go to in the past. PLEASE FIX!!!!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!!

Decent app too many notification. Besides too many notifications, repeatedly, you may want to make it where I can delete an old location. I had to uninstall the app to remove a location.

Disappointed. I have used the old app since it was available. Loved it! I am not a fan of the new updated version. The old version was easier to navigate, and quite honestly, I got pretty good at determining the potential hooks on radar for tornadoes. The new radar is just not as user friendly. I do love our Channel 6 weather guys though. Thank you for keeping us always informed.

Horribly disappointing. Part of the greatness and draw of this app has always been that all information was quickly and easily accessible. There was one main screen with all options within a few short millimeters and centimeters of each other. Now, you have to hunt and search around to find information that used to be found at a quick glance. Disappointed that channel 6 decided to sacrifice usability and user-friendliness for fancy and over-the-top. When needing to know weather information, the LAST thing anyone needs is to have to waste time scrolling around and searching through a menu to find what they need. App will no longer be on my phone.

Confusing and complicated.. The new update is confusing to use and makes it almost the same at the regular news on 6 app. It’s not just simple weather but now more options and harder to use. I’m trying to give it time and get used to the changes but I’m just not a fan.

Not functional in iPad. This app does NOT work on iPad. I have deleted and reinstalled multiple times. Swirling circle of death every time it tries to open. The app works on my phone but is a huge step backwards compared to the previous version. Very clumsy interface and is not intuitive. Deleting from my iPad for the 3d time.

GW Veteran. Weather and war are predictable only by the most available intelligence, which changes in unpredictable ways. Oklahoma forecasters are the best in the nation. The national “Weather CIA” resides in Norman, Oklahoma. This app has never let me down as a tool for planning my day. Thank you Channel 6.

Can’t see time. Whenever we’re watching the live radar I can’t see the time as it passes. I only see the date and then you can see the beginning of the time with dad’s but I can’t tell what time it is as it’s going through the live radar.

Warnings take too long to show up. I’ll get an alert from the Weather Channel app that there’s a tornado warning, then a few minutes- as many as five minutes- later, the same tornado warning will show up on this app and then I’ll get an alert for it. That’s unacceptable. I love KOTV for my weather coverage, but this app just isn’t good enough in the way that matters the most. Please, please fix it. I don’t have any other issues with the app. Everything else works great.

Channel 6 weather update for phone. Whoever is your developer took a great app and totally messed it up!! Hard to find local radar, hard to follow, hard to do anything. I have moved my go to - any other station is now better! So sad- I loved your previous app. ZERO stars compared to previous. Ok, it won’t even send unless I tap a star- had to tap 1 just to get it to send—fake rating!!!

Great app!!. I got this app and it got me through a tornado. They notify me when rain is coming and tell me if lightning is close to me. I recommend this app!!

Miss the other app. This new version takes longer to navigate through the weather. I miss the week in view with the highs and lows in one view. Weatherbug has been my go to app ever since this update so I can see the 10 day forecast in one view and not have to scroll down a long page. I do like the radar view, option to still watch live, and school closings link.

What were they thinking. Compared to previous app which was Ok (not great, but Ok), this app is subpar. It has too much of what I don’t need and requires too much fiddlin’ to get the basic information needed. The video forecast would be great if they were more current. At 8pm CST the most recent forecast is from the early AM. Fortunately, there are other local alternatives to this station.

Great app. I saw a lot of reviews on how it’s difficult to get to the weather radar and I can’t seem to figure out why those reviews were posted. I downloaded the app clicked on the menu bar and the radar was one click away from there. You zoom into the area which you want to see and play the clip.

New update is terrible!. This app is no longer user friendly at all. My wife and I used this app daily. It was much more useful to have a seven day forecast in a single glance. All of the scrolling is ridiculous. I reward you 0 points for all of the other unnecessary video graphics in the background. All this does is make the important information harder to read. You really shot yourselves in the foot with this new fancy upgrade.

Bad update!!!. What the heck were you thinking with the latest update? It’s awful! I’m pretty sure I’m not alone by saying nobody wants to have to take time to scroll to each individual day to see the forecast. I miss being able to have a quick glance at the coming week’s forecast. Sadly, I’ve now started using the weather channel’s app for its convenience.

“Updated” app is awful!. The old app was so much easier to navigate. Everything was easily accessible. Not on this one going from page to page or scrolling up and down. The alert system is absurd. Alerts should be for significant severe weather watches or warnings NOT it’s going to rain in 30 minutes or the wind is blowing. My only option is to turn alerts off or on. Since I can’t select select what alerts I want that leaves me to just turn alerts off. If I turn them off I have no use for this app at all. Not at all user friendly anymore and basically worthless. Sending out numerous ridiculous “alerts” is also unsafe by causing people to ignore them at some point due to frequency of alerts. Will delete app and rely on NOAA and Dark Sky.

This was previously my go-to wx app. I previously used this app exclusively. No more. It was easy to navigate, simple, and seemed to give me the important information quickly. I watch the weather very consistently, and this used to be great. Now, I get so frustrated with it that I have begun using competing television station weather apps instead. I suspect that this app, or at least this update, was designed by someone who never needs immediate weather information in a concise, reliable format. I really like and trust most information that comes from this television station, but this weather app stinks!

NEW WEATHER APP 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼. I agree with the previous review! The new updated version is useless! The radar rarely functions properly and NOTHING is at your fingertips as it once was. I know at least 12 people using the Channel 6 weather app and not one is happy with it. The old version was great! Why mess with a good thing? I have been a diehard fan of Channel 6 forever but sadly have been forced to delete the 6 app and download a local competitor. When weather is bad we need a team and an app we can rely upon.

Horrible!. This new app is terrible. The radar is hard to read and follow. Please go back to the old radar at least. Here we are entering into tornado/severe weather season and I don’t find your app helpful anymore at all. Constantly getting rain in your area notifications when it’s not in our area. My entire family feels the same about the app. Such a horrible decision and not user friendly at all. Please do an update to correct this issue. When we had all the bad weather and rain the last Tuesday in April my app wasn’t functioning properly at all and I had no idea what was going on.

Why?. Why update a perfectly good app? To make it better? Not this app. This app was my firs line of defense against OK weather living in the country. Now, with the new updates, all the great features, as seeing in the radar where severe weather is or choosing which alerts are important to me, are gone. With this update we went from an advanced app that I shared with others to a horribly basic app that I just may end up deleting. Just in time for Oklahoma tornado season. Why?

Notifications on crack. I almost didn’t know that we have a heat advisory in effect and would have completely missed it if this app hadn’t sent me FOUR FREAKING NOTIFICATIONS IN A ROW. I don’t really NEED three and four notifications for every weather event. Edited: The problem with excessive notifications is much improved. The radar function is pretty lame, but I rarely open the app, anyway, because it is so ridiculously saturated with ads that it’s hard to find the actual features.

Hourly forecast is never correct. Hourly forecast is never updated. I understand the weather changes here frequently. But the app doesn’t change. It’s showing a 30% chance of raining right now. Guess what it’s doing right now... it showed a 60% a few days ago and never rained once. It’s like they set it at the beginning of the week and never update through the week. Frustrating!

Why fix something that isn’t broken?. The newest version has made it so that everything is so hard to access unless you spend a lot of time on it learning where everything is. It wasn’t broken before, and any inaccuracies could’ve been fixed without the redesign. Overall, I am disappointed with the decision to remodel the app, and hope that they revert it ASAP.

No longer quick and easy.. The newest update makes it impossible to just quickly glance at the weeks forecast as there is no longer the option to do so.

Horrible update. The old app was much easier to follow. The weather info was all on one screen, I could see the week at a glance. I have to do too much searching to find what I’m looking for. I’m deleting this app and looking for another.

Terrible update. I agree with Rushbabymama. This is not a user friendly app anymore. It looks fancy but is difficult to read, drops pins, slow progression of radar, less options.

Excellent app. Have several weather apps on my phone but none preform as excellent as this one (personally speaking). It picks up where U left off - "excellent btw, thank u".! U can set all kinds of watches & or warnings etc.. To be pushed "VERBALLY" to the phone & U can understand everything said briefly, then go to the app & find out more!! I don't have time to be on my phone or looking out & around much - but when the "VERBAL ALERTS" "Sounds Off" (BREIF & CLEARLY) that I've gotten them set for, (day or night) - "I Do take the time THEN to check things out - for sure"!! They've been on target each time as well..!! Thank you for that BTW!! Navigation is super easy, plain out & forward..!! :-) U can set all kinds of ALERTS, depending on where U live or going to or just care about- example: tornadoes here, CA has more earthquakes & fires, & south have more hurricanes etc..!!!! Alerts "can or do"cover wintertime, summertime & the in between U may want..!! App opens back up where u left it - again a "Thk U deserved there"!! "Love the radar" ~ accuracy is perfect.!! :-) U can set your town & Pins anywhere you like, even on the smallest towns ("like ours" on a U.S.A. Map) & they cover those & not all the in-between places around u, unless u have the alerts set for ~Its unbelievable - "Love that feature specifically also".!! Mr & Mrs. Scrooge believe it is "money very well spent"...!!! :-)

What happened?. I downloaded this app on Stacia Knight’s recommendation because severe weather was possible tonight and it simply won’t open.

Update ruined it. I gave it time to try to adjust to the updates, but they’re horrible. Radar is worthless.. if it’s cloudy outside, it looks like it’s raining/storming on radar. Actually deleting the app and using something better. Sad, because it was great before the update.

Weather. Not even close. SMH. Says “cloudy”, it’s currently pouring, and gnarly thunderstorm. Do not trust this app for weather reports please. Not even close

DISAPPOINTING. News on 6 weather was my go to app, until this release and supposedly upgraded app. They used the same menu style and interface on the news app too. Both are horrible to use.

Horrible update. Why am I constantly getting notifications that rain is approaching my area when there are no clouds in the area?

Randomly Crashes. I was just looking at the weather and the radar and the app crashed so I went back on it and 30 seconds later it crashed again

Not accurate!. This app is NEVER RIGHT! If you check their website compared to the app it’s never right!!! For being the leaders in meteorology you need to do something about your app!!! It’s the worst weather app of all the stations in Tulsa! Channel 6 find new app developers!!!

Update issues. I loved this app until you changes it this month. Arghhh, not providing easy access to details as before. I’m deleting it if it stays as is. Not useful to me any longer.

Previous Version Was Better. Not a fan of the new look. App was much easier to navigate in previous version. Please allow setting to revert to previous look and I will go back to 5 stars.

Updated App HORRIBLE. I HATE this new version. It’s garbage!!! Not reliable, radar doesn’t actually move, just shows up as pretty colors on the map. I 100% DO NOT recommend this app! I went back to My Radar!

Bad Bad Update. Local conditions doesn’t offer quick view of the week to come. Whoever scoped this upgrade didn’t understand how it was used!!! Current temps, what to expect for the week and radar. Just made it harder so weather channel is what I will be using.

You have ruined this App. My App Updated this morning. You have absolutely ruined an app that was fantastic! Much harder to see everything at a glance and change alerts. You should have left it alone. I’m finding a new weather app.

Old info. The temperatures are rarely correct. The radar doesn’t match what is on the tv. The information seems to be days old as far as the 7 day forecast. WORST weather app I have tried.

Bad times 10. Nothing good! Can't get rid of the huge blob saying where I am on the radar map. Only one thing this app gets WRONG!

Nice Improvement!. I've always used this app for the local weather videos, even with the slow load time. Since the update, all of the content, including video, load much faster. The new interface is smoother as well... not glitchy like the last version. This is a nice improvement and makes this app worth getting!

Battery Drain. No matter what background tracking option I select, even the non-GPS tracker, my GPS stays actively constantly and drains my battery. For whatever reason it did not do that when I installed the app two days ago, but now I can only get it to stop by completely disabling background tracking or removing the app from my phone. Please provide an update or suggestion. If I can't use the background tracking I feel like I wasted $10. The interface and usability gets five stars. The entire app gets five stars if you can provide me a fix. Thank you!

Horrible update!!. I used to love this app, it was so easy to find all the information. NOW it’s awful!! You have to search all over for everything, no longer user friendly. I hate this app now!
