“Suspicious Login”. WeChat has permanently blocked my account due to a “suspicious login” which is “in serious violation” of their terms of use. I am a user in the USA and haven’t used my account for a couple of years now. I live 14 miles away from where I last used my account and tried logging on today. The app was downloaded via iOS App Store obviously and it even gave me the option of resetting my password. The password reset email was in Chinese! I changed my password anyway and tried logging in to the app. All of a sudden, it says I’m permanently blocked! This is ridiculous. You send a help request and nobody answers. And then when you try to unblock yourself, it tells you you’ve tried too many time. I can’t even have a friend verify my account, yet so can make a NEW WeChat. If someone has violated the terms of use, why should they be allowed to have another account? More importantly, what term of use did I violate? Not using the app for three years? I don’t have a VPN on my phone, I used the office iOS app. I feel like they just don’t want users from the USA. I did nothing wrong! I just want someone to tell me what I did to have my account blocked and to unlock it since it has been WRONGFULLY blocked.

Missing multi-phone support. My biggest gripe about WeChat is the fact that it does not support multi-phone. There are so many legitimate use cases for multiple phones: some has a work phone and a home phone, some just has a backup phone, someone need multiples in case battery runs out, for example. You can use the same WeChat ID on different phones but the message history does not sync, which makes it extremely frustrating. I cannot believe why such a simple feature is not supported, especially since WeChat do support iPad+phone or desktop+phone usage. Every other messaging app in the last 20 years has a decent support for this feature, including QQ from the same company in the last century!! My friends in China told me just use multiple IDs. But that won’t work because I have to tell everyone I know about both my IDs. Even after that, do they just send message to all my IDs? At this day and age we are pretty much relying on our messaging apps. Even if we go to sleep we still need them to work so others can reach us. I use it during my day time to communicate with my friends in the US, and during the evening with my family in China. So many times I went out and my family asks me to “check my WeChat”. I took out my phone, log in and cannot see the complete thread, because the rest was sent to my other phone. I tried for some time to just log out every time I am done using it, so that WeChat server will hold on to the messages until next time I log in. But that is just not practical. So please, please, consider supporting multiple phones!

Group chat tab please!!!. WeChat is a fundamental part of life in China, as are WeChat groups. There’s a group for everything!! That being said your chats seem to be polluted by a constant inflow of group messages, even if you’ve silenced the group chat it automatically goes to the top of the chat list when there are new messages and other conversations get pushed down causing you to miss messages. I really do wish that there was tabs for chats and groups and both tabs had the sticky on top function so that even on the group tab you could have your work group on top. This would make WeChat so much more functional as a work and social tool.

Not a review. This is my first app review. I am not writing to rate the app. It doesn’t need it anymore. It will be removed from the store tomorrow, according to the news. Wechat is the place for me to keep connected to my Chinese friends overseas and back home. Now all of us are forced to look for other apps as alternatives. None has been found to be equivalent to Wechat. COV-19 has already created difficulties in physically visiting China. Will we be able to resume normal Sino-US travel soon? I don’t know. Now the virtual connection will be affected with Wechat removed from the store. Tencent, when you update the app every time in the future, keep in mind that there are users in US.

Great for years, camera now inconsistent. I’ve been using WeChat daily for about ten years, and it has always been one of the most reliable apps on my phone. Messaging, calls, file sharing, and payments have all worked smoothly, and it’s been a big part of my everyday communication. After upgrading to the iPhone 17 Pro Max, though, I started running into an issue with the in-app camera. The phone’s regular camera works perfectly, but when I try to use the camera inside WeChat, it sometimes freezes or takes several seconds to activate. It probably happens about 10–20% of the time. On a typical day I take a few hundred photos through the app, and the delay shows up repeatedly. Sometimes it unsticks itself after about five seconds, and other times I have to wait closer to ten seconds before the camera finally opens. I’ve already updated the app and installed the latest iOS updates multiple times. The updates helped a little, but the issue still happens almost every day. I hope a future update can fix the camera lag, because everything else about the app has been excellent for years.

2 stars. Does what is claims to do, but quality is poor. If you send a photo, by default it is low quality. Selfie camera is broken—it sends mirror images. File transfer is poor. Very conservative limit on file size, and it often is not downloadable if the receiver doesn’t download it quickly. Translation is extremely poor—it gives insight to how uneducated Chinese people are when it comes to English. Recently the app asks me to verify my identity even though my passport is already registered to my account. Since the payment function depends on ID verification and the ID verification is broken, now I cannot use WeChat to pay for things. A typical all around low-quality Chinese app with lots of oversights. Please fix.

Blocked. Blocked my account after one day of use, even though I had a valid phone number and only added one friend starting out. From what I’ve read online and talking to others, this is a common occurrence. It’s a shame because I liked this app. I tried contacting support but had no response in a week. All there support forms are broken on there website, so you can’t even fill anything out to try unblocking your account yourself. People who do have accounts are never “verified” by there terms, so they can’t verify your account as another way to unblock. It seems they only have an interest in up-keeping this app for China use, where they are based, so I don’t understand why they are trying to distribute it anywhere else when no one can get accounts nor any help! Never have I seen an app be this disastrous just for a chat app. It’s frustrating and ridiculous.

Account blocked due to “suspicious activity”. I made a WeChat account yesterday. I set a profile picture, downloaded some of the cute stickers, and that’s it. I didn’t do anything else in the app. This morning when I try to log in, it says my account is blocked due to suspicious activity. I’m like “ok...I guess I can request for it to be unblocked.” So I go through this lengthy process to unblock my account which, mind you, should never have been blocked in the first place. Then I get to the step where the only way to unblock it is through a friend on WeChat who has made an account over 6 months ago. Well guess what? I DON’T HAVE ONE. I made an account about a year earlier and the same thing happened then. My account was blocked when I hadn’t even used it. I wasted my time trying to unblock the account. I ended up deleting the app then, and I’ll be deleting it again right now.

Awesome but a few things. Wechat is a super crazy useful app, and if you live in China it’s one of the only forms of payment. You can use chats, calling, stickers, moments, videos, and even customize your ringtone. The login method is kind of a pain (i had to solve 6 captchas) but once you’re in it’s completely worth it. It’s like Facebook, instagram, twitter, Snapchat, messages, and TikTok rolled into one. One thing I would suggest is adding widgets for the Home Screen so you don’t have to manually find the app in your screen and can just open it from the widgets. That’s probably all I have for now. Get wechat!

wecrap, poor coding at it's finest.. The app locked me out for suspicious activity, I wasn't in the app, I didn't have the app open, how is that suspicious? Is it because I'm not using their app 24/7, perhaps it's because I'm not from it's country of origin? Nah, it comes down to just good old fashion poor coding, something universal. In what little time I was on the app I found it to be clean and some interesting features. I just didn't have time to make friends on it, so I'm locked out with zero way back in. How about the developer try that in reverse? Make it so you have to have friends to register, that way I don't waste my time on such a poorly designed poorly coded back end system, which I could just be using the book of faces for that. There are other apps out there that don't have the problem, I'm sure there are apps that are worse than this. Save your time, find some other way to message each other.

Great But Lacks Features For Group Management. WeChat is a great all in one social media app, it receives updates often. I have used it since 2016 and I am part of very large group chats (200+) and a group that spans too much. WeChat has everything you could possibly need Ex. Calling a taxi (in China), ordering food (in China), Video games, calls, chatting, and it even basically has Tik Tok inside it. Though it does have some downsides if you manage big groups it is nearly impossible to manage because of the lack of features that other competitors like Discord has. Things that competitors have that WeChat doesn’t include: slow mode, bans, sub chats, more roles, restrictions, etc. Overall it’s a great app that still has much to improve on, I will continue to use it since it is how I connect to all of my school friends and family.

Good luck getting any support. Call functionality is decent but that’s not what I’m going to talk about. I forgot my password to my account. That account has a random unknown number linked to it. Which it could be my fault. it also has no emails linked to it. I could accept some accountability for that but what is upsetting is that there’s no way to contact support. The official website didn’t have a phone number listed nor had a chat function. The chat function part can be left out but any basic company would have a phone number to contact for any support. Let alone Tencent whose company worth is $134 billion. Basically if you’re in the US and you need some support, you’re screwed. This is completely unacceptable. If a small business can have a phone number, a multibillion dollar conglomerate should also have a number.

CN Government randomly blocks users registered with foreign phone number. Compared to telegram, this app is just too large in size and slow in function. Also, you are under surveillance when you are using it. Might not be a problem for a user for non-Chinese users since you may never go to China anyway. For my Chinese friends, they are having a hard time with it. Police might find you when they monitored you saying something they don’t want to hear. Also, FOREIGN NUMBERS GET BANNED FOR NO REASON. Registered successfully somehow but got banned the next day, same thing happened when I switched to my second phone number. When I was registering with my third number (about 10 months later on another device), I am not allowed to register. And finally I’m here leaving a comment…:(

Impossible for me to get registered. So I guess your goal is to stop your own apps’ progresss?!! I can’t even register because it’s telling me to “contact a webchat user who meets the following condition (They do not have to be your webchat friend)” I copy/pasted below. I don’t know anyone that uses webchat. I wanted to try it out. All other platforms can find ways to verify people, but you choose the option that alienates people from ever using being able to use your app. Then to say, the person that assist you to verify DOES NOT have to be your webchat friend. Well, no one I know has it, so they won’t be able to get verified and that leaves me with asking RANDOM strangers IF they use webchat so they can help ME register. So weird for an app. No other options given for verification. I closed the app and went back in thinking they message was an error. NOPE! Same message and I can’t move forward. Deleting app. I WILL NOT asks a random stranger for help registering to an app. 🙄🙄🙄. This must be an app controlled by Xi Jinping or Kim Jong Un. Terrible on iPad simultaneous login. This review is strictly on wechat for iPad. I love wechat on phones. However, since I use it both on phone and iPad, I found the iPad chat functionality extremely unpredictable. Only fewer than 1/3 of the chats show up on iPad. If I don’t look at my phone, I won’t even know how many messages are missing. If I’m on the iPad when a chat message comes in, iPad will show the notification at the top. If I click on the notification, it doesn’t take me to the chat and that message will not show up in the chat. I can’t figure out a pattern of when a chat message will show on the iPad. The only consistent time is probably when I’m actively chatting with someone, then I get all messages in this particular chat on iPad. But not for other chats. Please fix this!

The worst social media app I have ever used. WeChat ranks as arguably the worst social media app known to humanity. From the very first page, the app specializes in frustrating users at every turn. The verification process is cumbersome and God help you if you don't have someone to verify you. In fact, sometimes even if you use a legitimate registered phone number, it would bring up an error message saying "This phone number is invalid". After verification, it gets even worse, you are restricted from adding a decent number of contacts in a short time and can be banned for any arbitrary reason. The ban cannot even be appealed. This app is terrible and the only thing going for it is that it has a monopoly on business with vendors in its home country. It's an awful app.

Touchy Security and virtually IMPOSSIBLE to recover account. I downloaded this app in order to communicate with a group for college. I downloaded the app, created an account. Everything worked fine. The second time I opened the app THAT VERY SAME DAY it had logged me out, and when I tried to sign in, a message popped up saying my account had been deactivated due to suspicious registration. Of course, the only way to recover your account is to have another WeChat who has had an account for at least a month verify your identity, but I didn’t know anyone else at the time who had used the app long enough to verify me. THERE NO EMAIL RECOVERY OPTION. And, since you have to enter your phone number, not your email, to create an account, it is impossible to create another account if you get locked out of your old one (you can create a new email address, but you only have one phone number). Customer service WILL MOT ANSWER. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. TERRIBLE APP.

为什么 why. I’ll write this message in both English and Chinese so you can understand me better. Why did you remove the ability to see new videos? I can only see videos from people who I follow, and my friends. I understand that people with a Chinese phone number still have this ability. It’s very upsetting. I’m an American and I am trying to learn your culture, this was an amazing tool, taken away from me. I used to use wechat all day, but now it’s meaningless. I can use iMessage instead if I want to text my friends. Now the only thing WeChat has exclusively is their stickers. You’ve ruined the WeChat experience for all foreigners. Unable to proceed. I wanted to try WeChat to see what it was all about. I try to sign up and it won’t let me past the verification part unless I have someone who uses WeChat help verify. To me this absolutely stupid if I never heard of this app before. I’m not going to go around on social media or any other means trying to find someone who uses the app just to help me verify. In a way I’m disappointed cause I enjoy trying new apps that allow you to communicate with new people, until I find out the app has nothing but bots and scammers. I unfortunately will never know if this app is actually real or not cause of the stupid verification process that I am unable to do. So with that being said I give this app a 1 star. If something can change with the verification process where I’m able to move forward and explore the app more then I can write a new review with a possible better rating.

Blocked Account Access. Like many of the reviewers’ experience, I have been locked out of my WeChat account. And it appears that the developers have made it nearly impossible to reactivate my account. This has been the main way I have maintained communications with my relatives in China. And as many people know, the WeChat app is the predominant method for Chinese citizens to communicate with one other in China. When I told my relatives who used iPhones that it was possible to stay in touch without WeChat (by using iMessaging or FaceTime), all of them were completely unaware that these feature already existed on their phones. Later after doing some research about the developers of WeChat, I found out that the company allows the Chinese government to monitor communications of their users. Apple is very protective about their users’ privacy. It’s my guess that this is why WeChat is more heavily endorsed for usage in China than anywhere else in the world. Given all of the negative written reviews in English about WeChat, I am doubtful if the App Store’s cumulative 4 star rating for this app is reflective of a nonChinese, residence-based experience. The ratings may be weighted towards the mass numbers of Chinese citizens users rather than users from other countries. Considering that about half of my friends in the States who have been using WeChat have experienced a lockout from their accounts, I suspect the company may be closing these accounts in an attempt to limit exposure to foreign ideas or political images. If you are an Apple product user and have been locked out from accessing your WeChat account, I urge you to write in to Apple and ask them to address this problem with the app developers. Perhaps pressure from this tech giant may create better international tech support for nonChina-based users.

My favorite app! This app is absolutely amazing!. It‘s interface is incredibly clean and the core features stand out. It's a must have app for communicating and connecting with family and friends, and you can also share your daily life on Moments. Moreover, it offers a wide range of functions. In China, it can almost take care of every aspect of life. From handling business and financial activities, ordering food delivery, playing games, shopping, hassle-free flight check-ins, transferring money to friends, accessing fitness and health data, scheduling doctor appointments, receiving bank statements, paying utility bills, interacting and scheduling services with businesses and government, transportation, reading digital magazines, donating to charitable organizations, and integrating with other apps... you name it, this app does it all!

Losing the ability to actually help. Created a new account last night. Added family members as friends. Noticed it got blocked this morning. Followed the steps to unblock it, requested help from family and friends. Nothing worked. I sent requests to 3 of my family members, which 2 of them for sure didn’t work due to phone numbers being in a different country. What disappointed me the most, was my mother’s, my MOTHER’S phone number. It’s the exact same region as mine! But what did your team say to my mom? “You have already reached the limit of times of helping friends unblock their accounts.” And then second time, “You do not meet the requirements to unblock this account.” After those three accounts, I tried to request it one more time, but it kept on stalling to load the option, it didn’t want to load again. I also like to ask, What in the world type of suspicious activity did my account end up doing? All the agreements were secure, and the app itself doesn’t agree with it? This is a complete disappointment! I’m not the only one experiencing this. Look at the older reviews written this year. Many new users out there are complaining about the same situation. You’re going further away from 5 stars. Please fix this issue before more negative ratings come.

Can we pin the content in one group?. Wechat has been nice and easy to use for the past few years. I just wish there could be some parity functionality as slack to pin some content in one channel/group instead of saving them all in one favorite place and soon be buried by the next content. Also as there r more and more groups available, they always pop up to the top. If we can fold them into one bigger group like nested group function, it would help a lot for the user’s day to day experience. Hope some product manager from wechat could consider this.

Completely Awesome!. This app is awesome, and there’s nothing wrong with it. You can play almost all the games in the world on it, talk to your friends and family, as well as call them. You can also use it like PayPal, and you can post a lot thing so all of your friends can see. I know a lot of the reviews are saying their account was blocked for no reason, but that’s not true. You might’ve been blocked for saying something that’s political related in China or something. They keep a closer watch on those people who doesn’t have chinese phone numbers. Or sometimes they block your account when they see that you have a different phone number that’s not from China. I hope this helps you guys. :D

Not Very good customer service. I personally have been using this app for about a few years (mostly because the rest of my family live in China), lots of people are saying that they are getting banned for “violating” the rules when they are just using the English version. I mean, I don’t know what it’s like to get banned but I can tell it is pretty horrible from the reviews. If you didn’t want people from other States other then China, just don’t put it smack in the middle of the App Store where everyone can see this app. I have many complaints about this app other than the unfairness. One, is that when I open the app, I have to stare into the abyss of the screen and wait for the intro screen to go away. And if you are reading this Chinese government, I hope you can AT LEAST let other people from different states use this app? The people from other states did nothing wrong soo yeah.

Once your account is locked, you are screwed over!. The popularity of WeChat in China is tremendous, not because their product is amazing but the fact that this is the ONLY social media app in China. China has blocked other forms of social media developed by their foreign competitors. So when WeChat is the ONLY social media app, you are going to get MEDIOCRE customer service support. Like many others who depend on WeChat as a form of communication, it is absolutely ridiculous how DIFFICULT it is to unblock an account. I have contact for help in unblocking account for my father who is in his late 50s. They block him because they claim that he violated the Acceptable Use Policy and that would justify them asking for both his license and bank information to help him unblock. This is the first time I utilise a social media app with extremely strict policy and major invasion of privacy. How Chinese people are comfortable giving such information to a company basically control by the Chinese Communist Party government is crazy! My dad always praise that China is amazing but after dealing with one of the biggest social media platform in China... I disagree. If they are amazing dad, you wouldn’t have to complain to me why WeChat isn’t working anymore for you. Update: After 4 months of chasing them down and emailing them constantly, they were finally able to unlock this account. I thank the representatives that we’re finally able to push this through, and get this fixed. My dad can finally contact his family.

Only way to stay connected. I have been using this app since 2012, and it reconnected me with my friends from middle school, family members I weren’t able to talk to for years. I can send messages or do video calls. Wechat has been the only thing connecting the two continents, and I’m truly grateful. I will probably lose connection with my dying grandparents and many lasting friendships, but I chose to love and not hate. I am thankful for the times I got to see my distant family face to face, and I truly pray that there will be alternative ways for me to stay in touch these friends and family members - because for immigrates, it is a lonely world which westerners can not understand. I thank all Chinese immigrants for your sacrifice.

Blocked people whenever they like. I used wechat for two years. I didn’t use it very often. Most of time I read those messages in some groups. I didn’t post anything on my board. And it asked me to enter my password again because previous login expired. I didn’t enter the right one at the first time. Second time I typed the right password. Guess what? My account was blocked. Only once wrong password caused that my account was blocked due to suspicious login. And I’m on the same devise and same ip as usual. And the problem is I don’t have friends who used wechat over six months, no one can helps me unblock my account. And it requires not only a person to help you unblock your account and people who help you must use wechat over 6 months and didn’t unblock for others for a month. It’s really ridiculous. And no one answered my phone when I called customer service numbers. If you solved the problem, I will change my rate and review.

Losing a time frame of files sent to other account. When I sent some files to my other account once, after I checked in on it on my other account in about one or two weeks, I found out that there was nothing there, like someone else used my account so these files wouldn’t show here again. This has already happened several times. It also said that I had to type in my password again, which doesn’t usually happen. Even after I changed the password, the same thing happened again. I also checked the place where it shows which devices used the accounts. All are normal, as I know. Please fix this annoying bug!

Like it but some problems are really annoying. WeChat is a really really good and it’s very useful for everyone you can chat your friends and you can do anything you want you can share moment. you can take videos and lots of different things but there are some big problems that are really really annoying for example you cannot take any video more than 15 seconds and that’s really annoying and also you cannot share more than five minute video these are the biggest problems of wechat I think you have to fix it the other one is that some stuffs is really hard to use them because like if you want to recall your message until two minutes and then if you said something very wrong and something very rude so you had to recall but you cannot do anything in the wechat also some stuffs really hard and it’s like really slow to use them for example if you wanna like add to you’re favorite you have to tap many many times and you have to go to different places so you can add it to you’re fav also you cannot put any photos on your group chats U cannot communicate with the other persons who have watch or Apple Watch and also one big problem is that you cannot make your own stickers and like there is no way that you can make a stickers for WeChat and the other one is if you want to delete some stickers you have to pay money for it and that’s really awful also the one big problem is in channels you cant share your own videos because you’ll have to pay money for it also everyone can see your phone number And in the big group chats you cannot send any friend request to other person and you cannot add any person because it’s a very big I hope if you guys fix this I’ll be a huge fan of WeChat WeChat is a very good app and it really help me but I only hope you guys fix problems thank you

My Review. The App is good but the way they block and ban people with the English version is so uncalled for. This minute your account is on and the next minute you gets a notification that your account has been banned for violations that you never committed. If the developers doesn’t want foreign users and wants only Chinese mainland users then they should take it off the Playstore and AppStore. The way foreign users are treated is not right. The English version for foreigners has lesser features compare to the Chinese Mainland users and yet foreigners get banned unjustly. If you don’t want foreign users then you shouldn’t bother creating an English version of it.. It is a software and it should be made easier for everyone to use.

Hard to imagine life without WeChat. I’ve lived in China since the pre-WeChat era and after moving here had to get used to a new way lifestyle but after the dawn of smart tech came WeChat. For work it became part of our marketing strategy, for life it connected so many of the dots together. Money, travel, social networking, shopping and so much more, almost everything is all in one place and it’s become an indispensable tool for life here and when I travel to other countries I’m amazed at how behind the technological curve they are.

Must press space!?!. WeChat is very good and easy to use, however, when I type a message to my friend, I want to change change a line to make it clearer for my friend to see. But everytime, there's no change line button, at that place, there said send instead of enter (change line). Then, some time later, I figure out that you need to press space until it's end of the line then type. It's very tiring for me and sometimes, one message contains 113 spaces just for changing my line, I was so tired at that time so please replace the send button to a enter button instead. And the send button can be beside the ··· button. Thanks! I hope this change in the future!

Love this app!!. I am a American guy who travels a lot throughout Asia and this is mostly used by the Asian community so it makes it very easy to connect with new friends! It’s super easy to use and it never has any issues in the 10 years that I’ve been using it. TO THE DEVELOPERS!! I do have a suggestion for you! How about some page themes so people can change the color and customize the look of their WeChat? Of course you charge money for this but I think it will increase overall revenue and give people a more personalized feel for the app which, will in turn, boost the app usage! Just a thought :)

Why. I don’t understand why they decided to make it so that you can’t connect things like you email to your account from a device other than your phone, this has caused me several problems as I can’t log into my account from my phone as I got a new one recently and had my phone number changed and completely forgot my password this part was on me and I will admit I am partially at fault as I didn’t take the proper precautions before, but I thought it would be no big deal as I can just connect my email to the account from my ipad to login as I was still signed into the account on there, now I’m just left disappointed and annoyed as I can’t reset the password to my account or connect my email. I honestly think this should be changed as it makes no sense for me not to be able to connect my email from my ipad or other devices other than my phone.

Used to love but Customer Support is horrible. I have friends that live in various parts of the world and I loved using this app to communicate with them. I went on a trip to visit said friends, resulting in no need for use of the app since I was there, in person with them. My account goes inactive since I wasn’t using it for a few weeks and when I come back to sign on, it gives me an error message saying my account may have been “hijacked” or disabled for inactivity and I have to get another user to unblock my account. It gives me instructions on how the friend can unblock me so I find an alternative way to communicate with them to do so, but when they follow the given steps, it does not work. I have submitted multiple support tickets for MONTHS for help resolving this and no one has gotten back to me. Not even a confirmation email that the ticket was received. The only reason I don’t trash this app is that I have important information in the messages that I’d at least like to get back to. If I should ever get any freaking help. Horrible service.

Worst Application I ever worked with!. Each time they update a new version, not only any malfunctions do not fixed, it’s performance gets worse! Please stop developing and kill this app forever! - There’s no syncing whatsoever. I must work with this app because of my job. And I have it on my Cellphone and laptop. If I receive and open a message on my phone, next time I open it on my laptop, it won’t be there. Despite that I activated the sync button! And when I’m working on my laptop, and chat with someone, the app on my cellphone shows all my messages as new messages! - And don’t get me start with file system. To see a glance of how an app could be garbage, try to open it. Each time It takes like three attempts or more to open the app. And it’s not like the 3rd time it will open nice and easy. I must wait like 30 seconds to pass the opening page and the like another 30 seconds or more to loading!!! Please kill it and let the people use a real app!

Worst communications app. I come from an Asian household so I’m forced to interact with this app for my family’s sake. Here are just some gripes I have. 1. Cannot scrub a voice message First of all, I rarely use any form of voice massaging on my phone since I just text like everyone else, but just using the iPhone’s voice messaging system (which is an afterthought for most ppl to use), it is so much better. You can scrub thru a voice message so you can repeat what someone said a couple seconds ago, but that is NOT apparent on WeChat. When someone sends a message and you didn’t hear clearly, you need to replay the message all over again. Proceeding to waste your time. 2. Cannot send a message longer than 60 seconds… I mean, how can you mainly communicate with voice messages and then cap a limit on your message length? I get that twitter does the same with their tweets, but the annoying part is that you forget that there is a 60 sec cap, so you continue talking for the voice message and the app auto sends it instead of stopping the message at the mark to edit or something 3. Need to hold talk button Going back to the iPhone voice message system, I think it’s much more convenient to tap a button, set your phone down, and talk hands free. It’s such an oversight for so long, since this app was created, that we need to hold down a button the whole time in order to talk… it’s such a small non-issue but it makes life a bit easier and it wouldn’t be hard to implement. These are the main issues I see with this app that affects how I use it. It could be different for ppl who mainly text, video call, etc. There’s a lot more issues I won’t go thru, like videos taking forever to load, pics and videos having crappy quality, and an outdated UI. I do not enjoy this app nor will I recommend to anyone looking for a decent way to use their phone.

Serious privacy concerns. It’s no wonder that they’re still not using end-to-end chat encryption or 2FA for user account security. This app is basically used by the authorities (tankies) to track user activity, posts, comments, location and even sensitive information to monitor users who may have said or done something inappropriate with regards to their disciplinary actions (if you can catch my drift). There’s some evidence of data leak which shows that WeChat is being used by the authorities to track users down to collect information on their Covid status via their location and app usage records. I would ONLY use this app because its the only widely used service in Mainland China. But be careful over what you share with others in your chats because they watch your content for “inappropriate” stuff.

Security, but why? Location modify feature please. I understand the security aspects of Wechat and really appreciate that, but for someone who is using Wechat for fun this has become useless. Anyone who is using Wechat have an option to secure their own account, the platform should only provide controls but it should be left to the individual to secure their own account. There is no point for the platform to deny someone access and lock them out of their account because they send too many friends requests or someone marks the account as spam. The platform can rate limit the requests. Also, it will be great to provide an option to set location and search for friends elsewhere. That will be great.

WeChat help website is unable to submit feedback form. Since the online feedback form is completely not functional at all, I have to address my issue in here to allow app developer to see it and maybe forward to the WeChat help center. I am unable to de-register (unlink) my email address from my WeChat account. Whenever I try unlinking the email, it always shows a network connection error. I am also unable to link my WeChat to my Facebook account. I tried to troubleshoot by trying at different times, rebooting the phone, changing different Wi-Fi networks, uninstalling and reinstalling WeChat, but none of them helped. I have also sent feedback to the WeChat support team before, but the team member just replied with a useless website link that redirected to the article that provide zero help in my situation. Now it is my second time submitting the same message. I don't know if the support team could understand my question, but I cannot unbind the email address, nor can I link my Facebook account. I have already clearly and explicitly explained my issue to the WeChat support team before, please address the issue. Since I am unable to submit my feedback via online feedback form, I have to call WeChat to address my issue. However, there is no phone number to call at all, so I have to submit the feedback form, which is why I write it here. At the same time, I called WeiXin help center and asked for their help, but they replied me with a similar useless answer. On top of that, they told me WeiXin and WeChat have different support team, which means I am getting into a loophole again. SO, ALL I am asking is to create a FUNCTIONAL communication portal and TALK to someone and ADDRESS THE USER’S QUESTION

Best messaging and social networking app. So glad to have tried this. Now it’s my only social networking app. It has great privacy features and actually does NOT spy on your like Fartbook or others. Love the recall function whereby you can recant in private or group chat within 2 minutes of posting. Also love the privacy-respecting Moments feature where your posts are only visible to your friends by default. Simply the best messaging and social networking app by far! Just wish we could use the Pay feature here in the States.

Broke a Working Function; Horrible New Interface. Not all of my subscriptions are equally pressing for me to read, so now I have this cumbersome extra step of having to click on the dropdown menu in order to get to the old view of my subscriptions in order to see which ones I currently want to look at. Maybe the subscriptions message folder is useful for some people, but now it just makes me not want to use subscriptions. At least make it optional, or give us the choice of whether to view the old view or the messages view first please. As for the new interface it is way too white, and there is not enough contrast. The update says it’s supposed to be more intuitive and easier to use but now it’s actually harder to navigate because of the color scheme used for all the sections. Also, there is so much wasted space in the margins around messages and text, and everything looks so spaced out (not condensed) which is frustrating. DO NOT UPDATE.

WeChat is a great app but always remember. This software was developed by the CCP. It’s difficult to sometimes remember that, but this is a command and control program in addition to a lifestyle program. It’s basically a mandatory program if you want to live work or really vacation for any long period of time in China, however be advised that you communicate anywhere you go anyone you pay money to every bit of that is logged by the Chinese government. This is not a luxury. This is a must have application and program you need to master when doing business in China just use with caution never ever forget who wrote the program and who owns the servers that collect and log this data forever.

We already face a lot of racism and xenophobia so imagine the biggest app that connect us to our family from somewhere else in the world, gone. ABSOLUTELY REDICULOUS REGISTRATION REQUIREMENT??. This Apps registration requirement is just mind boggling? I have NO problem whatsoever providing a phone number like so many Apps need nowadays...usually you give your number to a trustworthy developer to verify your a real person and they file with the other thousands of users Ph numbers and thats it, no big deal. But for “We Chat” they actually require you to some how randomly contact another user, who is a COMPLETE stranger from who knows were, and ask them to help you finish the registration process? Are you out of your minds? Your crazy and it blows my mind to think other users gave there actual Ph number to a total stranger who could be a hacker...a identity thief...convicted felon....killer...rapist or even worse? HOW CAN THEY EXPECT YOU TO DO SOMETHING SO DANGEROUS for such a common App that doesnt even look that promising or special? Its just SO wreckless and unacceptable and to know that there is even 1 person out that complied is by far 1 person to many? And if something does go wrong and a user is harmed in ANY way, WeChat developers should be be most definitely held responsible for causing it.....NO APP IS WORTH PUTTING YOURSELF IN HARMS WAY PEOPLE? WOW?

A feature I would like to see in Wechat. Wechat is a good product. It’s very easy to use. Some of my relatives in their 80s are using Wechat on daily basis. One feature I have been wishing for is to allow a user to blacklist certain people in same Wechat group. One trouble I am experiencing is that there are members in a group keep posting disturbing info. I do not want to quit the group (could be a family group or a high school classmate group) just because one or couple of person. I don’t want to argue with them either. I wish there is a feature allowing me to make posts from these folks invisible to me, unless they directly address me.

I’ve been using WeChat for a while now, and it’s great for staying connected, but there’s one feature I think could really improve the experience: adding an option where people can’t just toss you into group chats without your approval. It’d be awesome if WeChat could implement a setting that requires your consent—like a quick verification prompt—before you’re added to any group. Honestly, it gets kind of annoying when you’re suddenly dropped into random chats with no heads-up, especially if they’re spammy or irrelevant. Giving users more control over their own space would make the app feel more respectful of privacy and way less chaotic.

Easy to use, but oh my the optimization is BAD!. In my honest opinion I think Discord is miles ahead of WeChat in terms of optimization, but too bad people in China doesn’t use it! Every message, video, and file, and I do mean literally everything you send, is stored locally on your device and not in Tencent servers. This means that a few files and power points sent back and forth with your friend and colleagues will ALL get stored in your system memory unless you manually clear them. My phone currently sits at 3+GB thanks to that, and I can’t easily clear out the files in case I need it! This also means chat history isn’t synced across devices because the WeChat servers doesn’t have a copy of it. Annoying to say the least.

Never Really Used it but the asking for phone number is sus. I didn’t notice until now the Phone Number registration process,was meant for the company to give the phone number to some company that knows how to determine if you’re a scammer or not,but It is Sus,giving out your phone number can potentially give you robo calls,Might be a great way for someone to hack your account,Maybe this is a Trustful company for that but I refuse,to Trust some company I don’t really know & aren’t you Meta? Seeing someone talk about the registration process,I wonder if you really have to make sure someone also confirms your number,not just by the company but someone else too? Cannot share photos from “Photos” and camera?. Used to be easy and convenience, open IOS Photos - select photos or screen shots - share - WeChat - select contacts and the photos will be sent. Same as IOS camera , take a photo-share - WeChat - select contacts and the photos will be sent. Now neither of these works, will have to save all the photos and screen shots - open WeChat - “+” - photos and select photos, by doing this way, it creates lots of extra photos and screen shots that we just need to use once OR an extra deleting step has to taken after share the photos/screen shots.

More ad than ever before. All important service notice (payment receipt, reservation notice, parcel notice etc.) has had been minimise to the Service Account’s notification. Under the Service Account, all notices are folded and minimised, leave rest of page into updates of following account and the new Ad: Top Story. On the brand new Top Story, it shows not just low quality ad. , but lots of spams.

I need help from Wechat officials. I just downloaded and created an account in wechat yesterday, the only thing i did is just added a few friends. But this morning i randomly got a warning: “Violations such as harassment, malicious marketing, and fraud” and i cant even login to my account, its stuck in the login section and I can’t even tell my Wechat friends. It says it needs a wechat friend to help unblock, but this is a new account none of the friends can unblock for me. I need help from Wechat to help me unblock or i cant use my account.

Very Poor App. Don’t waste your time. Downloaded app then created account. Used it for a couple of days then deleted it as found it not very useful. Decided to give it a second chance and re installed app. Signed into my account then account was blocked due to possible suspicious activity which I get the security measures side of things. So I verified my identity using password then mobile number sms verification only to be directed to another security measure which requires another we chat member to verify my identity. Seriously are you guys joking? Account is blocked now as only new to wechat and did not have chance to make new friends via your app not enough time to recommend people to downloading your app!! As a result have to delete your app even though I verified my identity. The mentality of the so called genius who created the security measures. I’m laughing so much as it’s such a joke. HONESTLY people reading my REVIEW DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS APP!! Only left one star because you cannot leave a big fat ZERO!!!!!

iPhone 15pro max lagging during calls. When I used WeChat with my iPhone promax making call my receiver can’t hear what I said during the call. I tried several time with different receiver but results are the same they can’t hear what I said. They said I am very lagging. Can you please check if the system is crashing or any bug with the iPhone 15 pro max.

Waste of time. I tried to sign up to Wechat for communication purposes in China but was asked to be verified by another user due to unusual activity on my account which I found strange. I managed to get verified but then a few days later when I tried to log in again, my account was blocked again and needed to be verified. I then tried to get verified by another user through the ‘help friend log in’ option but it failed as it came up with a message saying that user is blocked too. After numerous attempts, I cannot understand why it is so difficult and get verified more than once. Horrible experience overall and a waste of my time.

I'm going to make this short, this testing app is one of the best,many many functions and better than facebuk twittur etc. the people who don't like this app is cos they never used an app as grate as wechat. Other people that give it low rating is just trying to make this app seem bad and say "it's a scam" privacy alert blah blah,but it's not it's grate, there's nothing to worry about, ppl get blocked is cos they don't know how to use it, i have 2 accounts with no problem, and it tells u to link ur bank account cos it's a feature on wechat where u can pay by scanning stuff, even shops or restaurants like McDonald's use wechat to pay and etc, and others that don't like it is cos the don't understand Chinese. Wallet. This app is amazing, but i found that some users who download wechat that are from countries other than china dont have the wallet function. Can you please fix this? If other people have this problem, i have also searched it up and it says to get a friend to send you a red envelope or lucky packet, then click to recieve, and apparently you will get the wallet function after that. Is there a control freak control me to use the app?. For the past 3 years my Wechat app people nearby almost did not working, I mean nearby people cannot see my moments so they can’t say greeting to me and when I send greetings to them and they never received…. The reason I say the freak control me to use the app is because in this year it suddenly worked for 2 times, in different months but it only worked for a week then suddenly stopped…. Please don’t even think about could my settings issue, Apple Store many staffs know the app on my iPhone did not work as it, they checked and make sure not their iPhone products causes problems, also the phone service company did check the settings…. Why?. Ok, so my mum downloaded this app for me to use to connect to her and her parents (my grandparents) but as I was about to log in, it said that you needed to be OVER 17, I mean, there’s nothing wrong with being under 17 and using it! I don’t understand why that was there, but that’s not all. JUST a suggestion, you should add something for people to watch on there not just to chat or call, but to watch. Because, well, you know, like WhatsApp, they allow you to watch videos, so I really would appreciate that.

Please fix the screen orientation. Only recently screen orientation is the wrong way around. When I have iPad turned landscape, the thumbnail of my picture is in portrait, whilst the picture was f the people I’m calling is landscape. When I turn the iPad to portrait, my picture stays portrait but the picture I cure of the person I’m calling goes landscape within the portrait space. It never used to do this. To the person I’m calling, my picture comes on their screen sideways. Please fix this.

WeChat is AWESOME!. WeChat is good it is so great that u cant mute people’s calls because the function is so great for taking a break from WeChat but if your friend mutes u will be very sad and sad is bad no good no good no good and if as people I’ll delete this app and I like it vary much and I wouldn’t want this app to be unpopular so plz don’t add a mute call button :)

recent use. i have to go to china soon for a school trip and we were advised to download this app to contact relatives when we are there. At the start i had no problems but once i downloaded this app on my mums phone, it locked her out for no complete reason. Even once trying to reactivate her account with an allegeable account, we were unsuccessful. For china to block most of their apps and for this one app which is accessible there to not even work is absolutely absurd. This apps security is so tight that it doesn’t even work properly and i’m not the only person who has experienced this problem, as my friends whom are also going on this trip have undergone this process with either their account or their relatives. Honestly disappointing and i hope this gets fixed before my trip as the fundamental purpose of this app is for communication.

Great for Everything Except Chat!. The amount of things you can do on WeChat is absolutely amazing. It truly is central to life in China. But the actual messaging aspect is archaic. The ability to like individual comments would stop the incredible amount of spamming that comes up in group conversations. The ability to create an event that people can RSVP to in the chat would also stop the ridiculous 1. Name 2. Name 3. Name lists that pollute conversations. The ability to reply directly to individual comments would also prevent things getting lost in larger groups. These are already things most other messengers possess. But a positive, the ability to send and receive money from friends is amazing.

ANGRY. I am very disappointed with my wechat experience. This is because about a year ago I downloaded wechat and signed in using my phone, I then signed out because my account was glitching. I redownloaded it now, and it’s asking me for someone else’s number to verify it’s me. But unfortunately I didn’t have any friends on wechat to talk to, therefore I don’t have any other way to log back in to my account. Very unhappy and please make a new verification system. Thank you

The notification doesn’t work. I thought the tickle function is to nudge the recipient, and notify the person to check the message from me. But both the tickle and the message notification will only work when we open the messenger. Otherwise, it won’t work. So, if that is what happened, then what is the function of those features again? The recipient doesn’t get my message on time.

Loveing Wechat. Friend cycle, messages, group even news all together, WeChat is becoming better than ever, we Chinese love Wechat. BUT! Can you guys fix the watch app? Wechat on my watch crashes every time when I tried to lunch it from a Watch OS 4 device. Still, wechat makes our lives at oversea as convenient as at home. Sharing video, reading news, posting sells, linking with local community! Go Wechat!

iPad mini can’t get synchronized messages. I use WeChat on both iPhone(7 plus) and iPad (mini3) with the same id, for some reason I can only read the push notifications on my iPad, but when I actually get in WeChat on iPad, the messages I saw in notification can’t be sync’ed(sync msg option ticked on when logging in with iPad) I thought it was a temporary problem which would be resolved with new release, until now it’s still happening. Only around 5% of all of the msgs are received by iPad. 4-5 years ago this function works perfectly all the messages are sync’ed, still using the same iPad, iPhone was 6+ then. Since 3 years ago, this sync problem arose, it first appeared as iPad not receiving messages, then it can receive push notifications but when open WeChat, these same messages can’t be received on the app. I have tried stay on WeChat or never turn off the screen, nothing works. I really hope WeChat can solve this problem it’s a very useful feature.

Yaaaass the appp!. This app omg u gotta get it I’m Chinese alright and I can contact my friends the stickers have such a kawaii vibe whoever made it congrats I love it thank u. I don't need help I just wanna say. This app is really good you should download it! The creator worked hard on this,I text my friend all the time and I always tell them to get wechat! Problems after updated to version 8.05. I’m encountering a few problems since updating in 3 weeks ago. For example, 1. cannot listen to a voice message if it’s more than 20second long 2. Login issue: every time I have tried to login at least 2-3 times then going through connection and loading cycle, it takes longer than used to be. 3. Under The discover section - the moment function is refreshing but there is no data loading up for 4days. 4. Deleted the app then reinstalled,then I can’t login anymore, I noticed that some options under Apple setting - WeChat, photos are missing. I have to lodge a report/feedback, then the options came back. 5. I reported the issues last night again, it functioned to normal after 3 weeks, I am so happy that it’s all solved. However, in the next morning the issues came back again, I have been sending report/feedback again, still going nowhere. So frustrating! 6. The problem is happening on iPhoneXR & brand new 12 pro max not on my iPad and iPhone 7 Plus! It’s so weird!

good but have mistake. I had another account for WeChat before, I’m just keep send request to my friends in the new account and it show up and say I’m seem like to spread ad or something and ban my account, when I tried to unbanned my account and it tell me that I need to ask a friend in my account to unban but I didn’t get a friend yet, because I think they delete my request, so my account is basically been banned forever. What the hell is this?

Data scrapping intrusive & unreliable. Forces users to accept access to you files, camera, photos, contacts. Also WeChat uses standalone Facial Recognition outside of FaceID. WeChat is compelled by Chinese Communist Party (CCP) law to assist and provide all information on its users. The platform is monitored and scrutinised including every single one of your conversations, photos and contacts. If you or one of your contacts say something that WeChat, moreover the CCP doesn’t like they can remove your posts, block/ restrict your account and this can also have knock on effects for your contacts. Quite scary when you think they have information about everything, because they even have to verify your ID or passport, and match it with their own facial recognition. If you have ever said something that China doesn’t like it makes you very unsafe if you need to travel back to China at some point or have family or friends there. What seems like a convenient social platform is a deceptive, manipulative and I would suggest dangerous tool under the influence of the CCP. Best and most safe alternative if you have friends or family with an iPhone, then just use FaceTime, iMessage and ApplePay. If you need to communicate cross platform use something else. Of your still not convinced you shouldn’t use this app then search online for the countless stories of people having their WeChat accounts restricted, blocked etcetera for all sorts of reasons.

What happened…. Wechat was really good before, but suddenly today when I was texting, it suddenly deleted itself along with many other apps on my phone and won’t let me update it because of certain ‘restrictions’. Im not sure why this is, but hopefully the bug can be fixed soon.

WeChat. WeChat is phenomenal. I wish I downloaded it long ago. It is so much better than Facebook! Facebook is so negative in comparison. I must begin to learn Mandarin so I have a better understanding of what is being said. It really shows the wonderful attitude of the Chinese. Their comments are just beautiful.

Hope moments could have a automatic “back to top” sign. When I am checking on the moments, I realize that there is no way go back to the top automatically which makes it hard as I have to do it manually. Even you close the moment and re-open it soon the page will still be the same one you have been. It is waste of time!

To jaj600. There’s actually a feature which allows you to directly translate the message from WeChat, so you don’t have to copy and paste it into google translate. You just have to hold down on the message and you will see a button that says translate (you may have to press the right/left arrow key if it doesn’t show up right away. Other than that, it’s a great app. It’s easy to use and works very well, I’ve never encountered a major problem with WeChat and I’ve been using it for about 3 years.

Needs key. I like this app very much, although as others have said, on an OSi device it lacks a key for a line break, which is quite annoying. Also, other messaging apps., like Viber & WhatsApp that let you know that a message has been received by the other device, and both of these go further by notifying that the message has been seen. Fix those, and it's going to be so much better.

Useless and extremely complicated. If you’re not Chinese avoid downloading this frustrating app. Totally useless and an utter waste of time. You’d provide everything and verify your identity and number, add your bank card details only to be blocked few days later for no reason. When you try to remove the ban, they will ask for a Chinese friend with a Chinese number to verify your account and even when you do this impossible step (for foreigners and tourists) they still reject that saying you need a friend on weixin pay or whatever tf that is. You will reach out for help and their support team will ask you to provide millions of things via email only to be totally ignored. You contact them to follow up only to get another bot response urging you to provide the same things you’ve already provided previously. Save yourself time and stress and avoid completely. I’m using another app ( you know which one) and it’s perfect.

An essential for visiting China, however…. … the lack of any built in translator make it very difficult for non-Chinese speaking users. AliPay has a basic translation option that allows you to at least navigate and use the app. So many mini apps in WeChat have no foreign language option and you have to resort to screen grabbing, loading into Apple or Google translate, switching back and making and option then to repeat for ever page.

The best app in the whole internet!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️. WeChat is amazing you can contact so many people! Honestly the only bad thing is that sometimes when you’re calling from a long way away from the other person it glitches just a little bit. My suggestions are so you can call a lot of people at one time otherwise it’s the best app I have. WeChat is the best!

its a great app. This app isn’t made for making friends obviously, but for contacting friends. I love this app because it did a good job to protect our privacy. Not like Facebook or whatever. You likes someone’s article, everyone knows. That’s horrible. Not like WeChat, you can like and common whatever you like, and only common friends could see it, isn’t it great?

A minor problem. As I need to translate a lot of information that I read. We used to be able to press on the top of the page and copy, select, select all used to appear. It would appear that you have removed select all from the script. This is very annoying as you now have to drag the whole article before you can copy it. Is it possible to have select all, put back as an option?

My favourite messenger. This is the main messenger I use most of the time, it got lots of functions. I love it so much. But the only thing I wish it could be improved is the voice message, I can’t keep it if I change a new mobile. It would earlier lost the original voice message and can’t play at all. Overall considered pretty good. I have been using WeChat for a pretty long time now, and this website is definitely worth a try! I can connect with my friends at school, my overseas family and lots of other people. Definitely should give it a shot!

Amazing must download right now. WeChat is amazing I love to context with my friends and send them emojis these emojis are awesome so many more sweet emojis that we can’t use my phone l can call my friends and chat with them and make group read the news and see what happening it’s really helpful when you can block someone when they are annoying you or unblock someone that is important or you just want to unblock download now

Reply function. We can’t quote and reply messages on any chat group. And the alert / notification is very bad, we need to keep the app open to get notification. Another feature we need is to be able to group chat groups together in seperate folders, mommy we chat is a mess ! Mixing with companies wechat, promotion, and chat and etc.....

Feature Suggestion. It would be great to have an option which allowed for pinyin to be shown under Chinese Characters. It would be a great way to help foreigners who live in China and abroad to learn how to read hanzi more efficiently! I know this may take some time, but it would be greatly appreciated! To joeycozz. I read your feedback, maybe because you do not have enough friends which using WeChat at the same time, you don’t get the benefit of the app possibly givens to you. I believe if you know more people used this app you will find it really functional and helpful than any others in the digital market. No customer service. In China, I have to use WeChat for work to communicate with people. I have hundreds of work and client contacts saved, and lots of important files. After upgrading to a new phone, I couldn’t log onto WeChat, and couldn’t recover my password as I registered using my OZ number that’s no longer in use. I contacted WeChat support, but after sending back a generic response, they have not responded to my multiple queries in 3 weeks. That is extremely unprofessional for such a large company.

To JoeyCozz. Now, I have been using WeChat for almost FIVE years now and have never encountered that problem. Either 1. Your account has been hacked and WeChat has blocked/banned you. 2. Your device may not be suited for the app and WeChat has kicked you because you don’t have the right device. Or 3. Your app has had an update that’s too large for your device. (Similar to what I said in two) Overall, I think this app is the most greatest messaging app I’ve ever used. I suggest people to get this app but avoid breaking rules, be 17+ and not be a 7 year old kid that has encountered something and writes a review on that ‘bug’ when really, its just a feature. Proceeds to say, “I suggest people to not get this app.” and, “I have been in a lot of bugs/crashes/glitches, I hate this app!” and exc. JoeyCozz, just because you have encountered this problem doesn’t mean everyone will. I suggest new users to try the app out and not listen to the bad reviews but keep them in mind. Can’t make a group chat and not receiving notifications. So I tried to make a group with my friends and I but I can’t because I have to pay 1usd in order to verify that I’m not a bot. Who’s going to pay $1 just to make a group with their friends. According to the Chinese laws, I have to do it. But I’m not in China, so WHATS the point. I am highly disappointed in this app. Another reason is that I don’t even get notifications for the texts and calls. I would like WeChat to patch that up. Not only is it for me, but it is also for my friend. I am highly disappointed in this app. I can’t even use simple features and I don’t get notified.

Notifications not working or doesn’t play any sound!. Since the recent update, WeChat notification sounds don’t play properly even with my phone volume at maximum. This caused me to miss an important message from my mum about changing restaurants, which I only saw it after I arrived at the wrong place. She was so upset, and this situation could have been avoided if notifications worked like before. Please fix this immediately, as it has real consequences for users’ daily lives!!! 😠

Can’t use same account on different technology. I love the app and how you can text and send send stickers or how there an place on the app where you can scroll and see what’s going on in people’s life cause of photos and l like how you can call video call and much more but l don’t think it’s only me but you cant use the same account on different pieces if technology an example is when l logged in into my 6 plus the wechat on my iPhone 6 turned of and stopped working and logged out by its self and don’t like it cause of that. Fix notification bug. Sometimes the messages will appear as a notification and sometimes it doesn’t. Also the same thing with voice call and video call, sometimes one end will be ringing and the other person won’t answer because they haven’t received a notification. It complicates things, but it is a good free app

Terrible and unreliable. I downloaded this app to be able to contact my friend going to China but within one day when I went to message them after their arrival, my account had been locked out and I was told it was blocked due to unusual activity and no further explanation - as far as I’m aware, I did everything correctly and broke no terms of service. It told me I needed somebody with an account older than 6 months to verify me in order to unblock my account (which is a stupid rule in itself), and I found two people to attempt to help me but they were both told their accounts had been restricted because of unusual activity as well. Upon finally finding a way to contact my friend, I discovered that her WeChat account had also been blocked as well as our mutual friend’s who downloaded it for the same purpose. This is clearly an issue with this service rather than five different people doing things to warrant their accounts being blocked with no worthy explanation. I would absolutely not recommend this app as a way to contact anybody, and would strongly urge anyone to find an alternative.

Alright. But can you guys add like an option where you can see the channel comparison with your friends. Like a compatibility leaderboard for channels. For example, if you like this type of content and your friend that’s another type of content, your compatibility score could be 60%. That would be so cool. The rest is pretty good.

Mini APP within the Super APP. I've used many social apps over the year. But there are no apps can do what wechat does. That'll be their MINI program. You can simply scan it and use it as you go. There's no need to download native APP and take up space for your phone. You can also use wechat to make payment and pay within the MINI app. If you ever travel to China, make sure you have the WeChat handy. I just can't live without it. Peace out :)

Increase custom stickers limit. I’ve used wechat for years now and i think its actually one of its best kind, as it updates more and more features are available, extremely convenient in china as well. The stickers are one of my favourite features of this app, however the custom features have a limit and once you’ve reached the limit, you cannot add anymore. I want to suggest to increase the limit so you can add more custom stickers to the collection.

TERRIBLE US OTHER APPS. Everything about this app is terrible. From the moment I opened the app I was greeted with a typical sign in or sign up screen ok normal. So I click sign up then put in my info. Then I had to security check this is where the stupidity was created. Instead of using an sms or email verification you need to have a friend verify you. This friend could not have verified anyone for at least a month previous. There customer service is bad overall starting with the website and the unresponsive email and text. In my opinion if you want a free app that does the same thing go use WhatsApp or telegram both great apps with good customer service and easy straightforward sign up services.

I love using WeChat! Trump you cannot force us not using it!. WeChat is the most convenient and widely used communication app in China and among Chinese who are in abroad. It doesn’t show others whether you read the message or not. Therefore it protect our privacy better than WhatsApp. Also it is multifunctional, combining Facebook, instagram, WhatsApp all together. It deserves its popularity and wide usage. If Trump ban TikTok or WeChat, then he is a most notorious dictator in history.

Would love to review the app, but…. I wish I could leave a good review of WeChat, (or any review of WeChat for that matter) but unfortunately since I’ll never be able to use the app I can’t review it. Why can’t I use the app? Because the app requires me (a new user who has never tried this app before) to already know other users in order to sign up and make a login. How can I be expected to know other users when I can’t make an account and get on WeChat to meet other users? What am I supposed to be psychic?? What if none of my rl friends or acquaintances already use it? But the sign up requirement doesn’t stop at just simply knowing another person who already uses the app! This person has to also have used WeChat for over a month, hasn’t completed “Help Friend Register” for other users in the past month, AND hasn’t been blocked in the past month. How am I possibly expected to know someone who meets those requirements when I’ve never used the app?? Most ludicrous sign up requirement I’ve ever heard of, makes it just about impossible for new users to make an account.

LANGUAGE ISSUES. The system allows you to convert into a handful of languages other than Chinese; however, the file transfer is often named by some Chinese characters when your trying to upload some documents, which is quite confusing since the system ought to be operating under a full English version after the switch. Other similar cases appear once in awhile when your browsing through the app. When problems resembling to those I’ve faced in terms of their recklessness, it makes you wonder the effort put into the design and testing of the app... Anyway, WeChat really need to refine their language settings.

Cancelation nightmare. I was going to use the app to do multiple video chat calls but with the new update on my phone I can already do that so I have no need for the app. Hence, why I want to cancel it. However the app won’t allow me to cancel my account because it keeps claiming I’ve made changes to the account or there’s “strange activities”. I have not made any changes. I tried deleting it two week ago—on the same day I downloaded the app. Now two weeks have passed and today I was trying to delete the app and again it won’t allow me to delete it. I’ve tried contacting their customer support and it directed me to Golden frog and Golden frog says they have nothing to do with the Wechat app. If I can get someone to please help me with this, I would greatly appreciate it. Annoying. It’s great if it works, but i recently changed my phone number and had the hardest time linking my new phone to my old one. The purpose of this app is to stay connected with people.... i only use it to chat with my parents. It’s asking me to have “friends” verify my account. My parents are not very tech savvy, so getting them to verify is not something i can do until i visit them in person. I tried to sign up for a new account and it didn't work. I tried to change my number... and it says account compromised. (Probably because I tried so many times...) I wish the app was more user friendly.

We need Dark Theme Not White Theme. App is OK just the same old typical WeChat but I’m not a fan of the newly “White” Theme design. Come on, 2019 is coming in hours and you introduced us a White Theme where almost every other apps are doing Dark Theme!!! Are you kidding me? My eyes are getting tired because of your stupid new theme color you so-called “intuitive design.” I seriously doubt about your design R&D department because they simply don’t do any research. Connection problems for foreign WeChat accounts when in China. I’ve got an American WeChat account with an American phone number. When travelling to Mainland China payment with WeChat pay (money already on the phone) takes 30 seconds. Sending a map link doesn’t load the map. One needs to connect to a VPN to use map links in China with a foreign accounts. Loading chat messages takes 30 seconds on an iPhone 15 Pro. That’s just ridiculous. Apparently connections to foreign WeChat (Tencent) servers are slowed down or blocked entirely by the Chinese authorities which affects all foreign WeChat account holders with a foreign phone number residing in China.

Voice Messages Keep Cutting Me Off!!!. Incredibly annoying issue where voice messages keep cutting me off before I finish and send them. This is ridiculous. Allow a feature to let me stop recording or at least don’t stop when I have the button clearly pressed and hold. Also another insanely annoying feature is the inability to use Return to go to the next line. This is problematic as I cannot type addresses with line breaks. It will send each line as a separate message. Also the inability to backup entire chat history with pictures and videos like iMessage, is absolutely unacceptable. Fix these 3 issues, and this trash app will become one of the best.

The App force me to give up my privacy. Try to setup an account for personal use only. I am very careful not to let it go through my address book. so I deny to let the app have access to my contact. I don’t let you have all my contact because I won’t sell my contact out to you!! ridiculously you blocked my phone saying that my account is compromised, make me go through security check need other wechat member to unblock it. Forget about it. Too stupid to go through this. You are the one I don’t trust. Couple years ago, i let you have access to my old phone, you add everyone (included friends and clients) on my phone book to wechat. Have you consider my privacy? I don’t want everyone in my contact links on any social media !!!!!

Please let users choose to disable the new tickcle function. I have used WeChat for many years and I usually liked the new functions it developed. However, I do not like the new tickle function. I have accidentally tickled someone in a group chat or someone I’m not familiar with several times. I think it’s really awkward. I have several work-related group chats and I’m always nervous about tickling anyone by accident. Please let users choose to disable this function in the future. Thanks.

Not User Friendly and Data Mining Sus. No matter if you login using Facebook or apple, you need to provide your phone number and have someone verify you. Otherwise signup cannot be completed. This is very sketchy as to why they even have OpenID to authenticate with other providers if it’s the same as mobile signup regardless. Only reasonable answer for this behavior is to get her customer data and still require the same signup flow. That way they can store your Facebook login information, Apple ID and your phone number. No matter what you need to go through mobile signup which requires you to have someone who already has a WeChat account to verify you within minutes. Do not bother with other signup options as they aren’t necessarily options but just ways to get extra data. They only allow deletion depending on local laws, not by their own policy so make sure to look up your local/country laws on data and privacy.

It’s a good app. The app is good for communication and interactions with people mainly in China, it allow us to connect with them since there’s not a lot of apps to use to talk with them. I saw that many of the one star reviews are about accidentally nudging the other user in certain cases. But I think that’s just a small problem. The nudging happens when you double click the users profile. Overall there’s not a lot of distractions. Just be careful.

Read Feature. WeChat is a great app and all, the payment system, the convenience, the quality of the voice calls, everything. I really enjoy using this app on a daily basis in China, keep it up Tencent. One thing I hope Tencent adds to WeChat is the ‘read’ feature, it is when if the person has looked over your message/item it alerts or somehow tells you that he/she has read it. Refer to the already existing read feature on Messages on iOS

We chat. Whatever is going on with these inventors I had a WeChat account or year ago when my daughter went to China. I had one for two days when my wife’s been in Cancun this morning I wake up and it tells me it cannot connect me because of what I have no idea of. I’ve tried a couple passwords that I knew no go. Tried to reboot it won’t let me do anything just put in my phone number that’s wrong put in her phone number that’s wrong put in this phone number that’s wrong put it in any password that’s wrong this WeChat is for the birds find another way to communicate other than WeChat now I can’t talk to my wife them at all I’ll have to use my phone see what happens

Great job！. I might as well give WeChat a one-star negative review. Of course, the development team can continue, as always, to arrogantly ignore all user experience issues (including but not limited to the deliberately removed dark mode icon in the new version, the outdated layout that has remained unchanged for years, and the terrifyingly large space occupation, etc.). After all, WeChat has become an infrastructure in China, and "it just has to work" has already become your optimal goal. In such a complex team, being able to handle interpersonal relationships is already a victory. Who still cares about the product experience?

Account blocked. I'm in the US and was very excited to learn about WeChat, as it provided me a way to communicate with new friends in China. I set up the account, found my 2 friends, and was loving it...for about three days. Then, I got logged out and was unable to log back in. My account was then blocked and, like others have said, it's nearly impossible to get it unblocked. You have to provide information from other WeChat users. I only knew two people on WeChat and I could not access their information since I was blocked from my account. I finally found two people in the US and sent in their Information so they could verify me. Nothing. I've sent multiple emails to WeChat with no luck. So frustrating. Zero stars

Fix dark mode. This is a great app, but when it updated and had gotten dark mode, everything was ruined. I like keeping dark mode on my phone, but I don't like the dark mode on WeChat. WeChat dims my custom background and it isn’t what I want. I suggest to either keep the background the way it is, or to make a dark mode setting so it will be manual. If people like dark mode like this, please make dark mode a setting that you can manually turn on and off. If you are a WeChat user, and you like bright backgrounds, I highly suggest you not to update WeChat. PLEASE. CHANGE IT BACK TO NORMAL OR MAKE IT MANUAL. Thank you for reading this.

The best social media. This is the absolute best chatting app ever created. It is very easy to use to chat individual person or a group. The moment feature is also very useful, especially that you can block certain people from seeing certain moments 😉 I love the emojis in WeChat, there’s multiple very useful sets of emojis and you can always add any emojis of you choice. The money transfer feature is also very useful, and is not present in any other chatting apps. This is the best chat app ever.

App Great / Tech Support Ehhh. Love the App, I’ve been using this app for a few years now. It has some great features for chatting, speaking, and video. Also love that you can make new friends through other features like People Near You, Shake, and Message In a Bottle. I’m not impressed with the Tech Support. About a month ago when using the shake feature I got a “To Many Attempts, Try Again Later” error. I’ve submitted a couple of requests for help including a screen shot and still no help. Overall, I recommend the App and think you will be happy with it.

Blocked while traveling was a disaster. WeChat blocked my account while I was traveling in Asia. I couldn’t perform any of the verifications to correct the account since I didn’t have access to my USA phone number while abroad. The conference organizers and attendees were using WeChat as the exclusive method of communication, so I was completely cut off. I lost access to my collection of contacts. WeChat said that my account had suspicious activity, but I have no idea what that was, or how to correct it. Now that I’m back in the States, WeChat still will not unblock my account. It’s unacceptable for a platform of this scope, which so many people depend upon, to be cut someone off without warning or recourse. Relying on WeChat while in China was a disaster.

Can someone helppp. I have been using wechat for a pretty long time and I use a iPad mini 3. I check my wechat settings and it says 7. 0. 20 which is the most current and latest version. I can’t find dark mode 😂 I really can’t. I went to “me” -> “settings” -> “help&feedback” and clicked “how do I set dark mode?”. It says to go to Me > settings > general > dark mode > enable automatic. But I cant find the dark mode option in my general settings on wechat. Someone please helppp!!!

horrible second experience. The application is especially used by anyone in China to do everything, order food, including payments. You might post something, message somebody and your account is easily blocked, you don’t even know why. This is the second time my account is blocked, first I gave up years ago, started fresh recently as i was going for a business trip and got blocked again, and unblocking it is going to be the same nightmare, and I don’t really have the patience for it. Giving up freedom of choice for convenience should never be an option, cash is king! Telegram is still the best out there for communication and community information share, yes, because of it, entities pay agencies to create fake accounts and try to get people leave it, but still the best! Simply stop using it, civil liberties are chipped away we have seen it with Facebook, Twitter, Google, all of the big players; is sad a software review has to deal with this aspects.

User censored without being notified. WeChat censors users arbitrarily. In may cases, users are censored because their messages are considered inconsistent with Chinese government’s messaging, even though those users have not violated user agreement in any form. WeChat also “silences” users without any notifications. When WeChat does so, the impacted users’ messages in a group chat will only be visible to himself/herself, and his/her “Moments” will not be visible to any contacts. However, the users would not know, unless they compare the chat history with other contacts in the same group chat. It seems WeChat’s action has been a serious violation of Apple App Store policies.

WeChat is wonderful application, I am using it since 2015, I was using it before to contact my friends in China, but after moving to China, I am a regular user now because life in China is without WeChat is impossible. WeChat mainly focus on users privacy and due to that reason it my favorite application. But I feel one thing that is not added yet and that is built it lock. Just like WhatsApp and QQ International Messenger. I am giving 5 Starts as a satisfied used and hoping to consider my review.

Wow!!! The most stupid security verification in the industry. I just want to know the thought process (if there was any thought behind it ) of the people who decided to enforce verification by another person for creating an account? How about to take bonds and put someone from family as a hostage while using the app to make sure it's not against the Chinese Communist rules and regulations? What if I am living in rural area and there is no other Wechat user who didn’t help someone else to get security verification? Isn’t it better to limit this app to Communist countries only so you can enforce the communist party’s policies? I am wondering how Apple allowed such a horrible requirement exist under their nose.

Advocate for a new privacy setting. Please help address an important privacy setting prob: when one chooses to only open his most recent three days’ posts, this setting applies to EVERYONE. But realistically, he might want a few exceptions where several best friends or families could see ALL of part of his posts, whereas the rest of his friends are subject to the three-day limit. I highly advocate for an upgraded version considering this problem—it would be great if we can use this function!!

Blocked!!! Impossible. Once you are blocked in this app it is impossible to unblock. I have have been blocked for close to a month now. I have tried to contact the app support several times and have had no contact back. I have uninstalled and installed the app several times with no luck. It says I have a self service unblock capable. But when when ever I get to the last steps it says wrong password or the sms was not received. I can’t ask anyone for help because most people I know who use wechat are on the mainland of China and I only had their info on WeChat. Really if you can’t respond and help the users in the U.S. then you shouldn’t offer it to us.

Half black screen + cannot add photos. Two annoying bugs: 1. If I turn my iPhone sideways during watching a video from within WeChat, the display splits in half and the left half would turn black. If I turn the phone back the full display goes black. I must close the video and reclick the same video to watch it. 2. After I upgrade my WeChat, I can no longer add photos from my album from within WeChat to share with WeChat friends. The only get around is to select one from iPhone album and the. Share it to WeChat. Hopefully these bugs will be fixed soon.

Needs reply button !. Overall happy with wechat and how fast it deploys and shares images, media etc. however one crucial deficiency in my (and likely many others’) opinion is the lack of the REPLY button. It’s impossible to hold any sort of long conversation that spreads over multiple topics without struggling over the reply button! Every chatting app nowadays has a reply button for a selected highlighted message so i do not need to copy/paste manually anytime i need to address a part of the dialogue. Currently for every eversoslightly complicated conversation i have to go over to QQ because at least they have Reply button. This is a huge inconvenience.

Got blocked so can't use this app :/. I opened my account and began using this app to communicate with my business partners but then somehow got blocked. We double-checked - Everyone in our groups said they didn't block my account. Despite my and my associate's attempts to contact this business for help, NO ONE at WeChat CUSTOMER SERVICE IS THERE TO HELP! :( So anyway long story short, we stopped using WeChat and are now happy GroupMe (by Skype) users! GroupMe offers so much more than this app: create RSVP calendar events, send photos, invite ppl to groups, add/delete ppl to groups, ppl can delete themselves from groups but easily join (with invite from current group member), can receive SMS rather than thru this app (doesn't send emoticons).

To Yani2x and a few others. I am an American user and I can sign in no problem. It’s not that wechat didn’t want American users, but Trump banned it in US. Usually they ban you not because of no reason but because someone reported you. Of course the need to find evidence first. Wechat is a great app, it has high quality calls, millions of sticker packs, group call (WITH VIDEO if you want), moments (so you can catch up with your friends.

5-Star App When In China. I first downloaded this app when I was in the US. I assumed it was just a normal chat app because it didn’t have many features when I downloaded it. After going to China and connecting my Chinese bank card with the app, it unlocked so many features. You can literally do everything with this app. Pay your bills, buy train/plane tickets, transfer money, buy movie tickets, get a taxi, order food, find a cleaner... This is definitely the most underrated app in the App Store.

The best app ever. If you have the app installed, you can literally do anything in one app. Genius design. Not mention free message, video chat, voice message, location pin, scan and pay,find friends near by, make donation to charity, selling or buying goods etc and more, I saw ppl running millions dollars business in this app. Jaw dropping..I wish we have a similar app in US, so we don’t have to download 10+apps to get our jobs done. We used to judge ppl too much ,didn’t realize that we should learn from them on some point. IMHO

System kicked and blocked me out without reason. I’m in nyc and started using the app everything was great until last night the system kicked me out and need verification from my friends, luckily my friend helped and my account is restored but from time to time my friend will receive notifications from WeChat warning that my account is not registered in China and could be a potential threat / scammer Pls help me WeChat and look into this, I don’t want my account to be blocked again. Thanks and love the app!

Unable to Sign Up or Log In!!!!. Terrible app. Tried to log in because I remember making an account a while back. After multiple security login pages and confusing terms and conditions and agreements that WEREN'T EVEN WRITTEN IN ENGLISH !!! I finally got through for it to give me an ERROR WRITTEN IN CHINESE that said that the app is not up to date! WHICH IT WAS! Tried the sign up screen and it required a "friend" to authenticate??? But I already used a "friend" aka my 60 year old mother !!! in one of the log in security pages and because of that it wouldn't allow me to do anything! Absolutely terrible user interface. Confusing and convoluted for no reason at all! It shouldn't be this hard for an old user to log inm If I couldn't give this app zero stars I would!

Moments load sooo slow!!. About several months ago, the pics and videos from moments started to load so slow. There’s a five second waiting period each time I open up someone’s pic in moments. I’m just staring at the loading icon during this time for the pic to download. I have used the app for years and it’s always been great. This new phenomenon is really annoying and makes me not want to look at anyone’s moments, and this is why I’m giving this a two star. This is the first review I have written in the App Store so you can see this is a huge issue for me!! Please fix it!!!! (I tried clearing cache, updating to latest version, etc but no difference).

What happened?. WeChat has been my number one app of all time. I have met wonderful people from all over the world all for free. I never had a complaint until now. One day I open the WeChat and I use the shake function. All I get are Chinese and the profiles seem fake. I have messaged over 300 Chinese women with no replies. I do not think the profiles are real. None of the profiles have moments and all the photos are fuzzy. I want my old WeChat shake back or I can chat with women from the Philippines, Malaysia the US and Europe. Am I being punished or what? My people nearby works great it’s just the shake only goes to China with no results.

Essential app for Chinese community. The WeChat is probably the largest and busiest social network platform in the world so you may wonder why there are so little reviews, even the negative one. This is because everyone is busy using the app itself instead of writing reviews. If you haven’t use it before, try it. If you are going to China, definitely download one and start to use it. The Chinese life style is going to spread to the entire world soon.

Help. I just signed in and in a couple of days and I got blocked. I used actually my Facebook account AND my number. I was pretty excited because this app has soo many amazing reviews. I did nothing. I just signed in, change my photo and finish. I had my account activated maybe for 3 days? 4? But then, when I tried to check my account again it said that I got blocked and I needed someone help. I have no friends with wechat that fit with the criteria needed to help me. I just can’t change my number and I don’t know what to do:( I really want to use my account, please help me

China. I see comments there are some people in the United States said that the software is not good, some problems cause you use effect is not good, but I ask you to know that this software is a lot of people in the use of software in China, his influence is very strong, now he is found in North America the app, does not mean it is for you to use, and most of it is for our Chinese students, you don't like to give up. There's no need to say where it's dead, of course I'm not racist about anything.

Let me toggle dark/light mode please. The app was fine until last update. Now it forces WeChat into dark mode because my iPhone system is in dark mode too. There is no way to change it unless you change the system-wide setting. Every app out there let’s you override the dark/light setting of your phone. Please let us use whatever mode we want regardless of the OS setting. That said, the dark mode itself is bad. All my stickers are messed up because of the dark background. Doesn’t seem like the update was thought through.

I’m furious at this app!!!. Hello dear developers I made a WeChat account recently, about two weeks ago, and I didn’t need to use it until today. Surprisingly my account was restricted because of suspicious and unusual activity 😑😑 Well I’ve been trying to log into my account for five hours and I’ve gone through all the steps but it still doesn’t work!! Two friends tried helping me but it still doesn’t work! Excuse me? I shouldn’t have been blocked in the first place and now I’m really annoyed because I’ve done everything the app requested me to do to get my account back and it doesn’t work 😑 please do something I need my account to communicate with some new Chinese coworkers and I’m helpless right now.

Zero stars. This is the worst app I have ever seen in my life. There is absolutely nobody in any locations I want and when you try to delete the app or delete your account and cancel it they won’t let you for a two week period. I have gone over the two week period and it says I keep changing stuff and will not delete the app still. Worst app ever. Still trying to get rid of it. You put in your information and now it has your phone number and type of phone in it. You can’t change it or delete it because it says if you have a change you can’t cancel your account and you can’t leave things blank. All I want to do is cancel my account and get rid of this so none of my information is on here.

Never Using this app again. So, here’s the story, I’m going to China in a few days and decide to make a wechat account. I use my iPhone to make an account so I can log into it on my iPad, I have a bad iPhone and decide to not bring it whatsoever. I go to china, and I think it’s fine. I want to order something for my friends and when I open my wechat account, it was blocked. It showed that it would send an sms to my phone to request an unblock, which was in my house, nowhere near china. I try to see if it could send an sms to my friend’s phone, but yet again, it said that it would only send one to my old phone. Now, I have to wait a whole month, just to get my account, having to always ask for someone to pay for my meal Great System, WeChat

WeChat User. I didn’t know about this app until I traveled to China in June/July of 2017. I met a number of people there while I was working. Facebook and other apps were blocked while I was there. I was able to use WeChat to keep in contact with my family in the United States. Now that I’m back home, I’m able to keep in touch with some of the people I met in China. I even had someone call me from China for free using WeChat. The call was crystal clear.

Does not notify upon new message/Constant glitches while playback voice message. As an instant chatting app, this app does not notify me when my girlfriend sends messages to me. This is extremely annoying. My girlfriend is very upset with me because of this. The message playback have been a major feature for a long time, but this app constantly fails at this job. When I click play, and put my phone close to my ear in my office, you know what? While the voice memo is being played in the upper speaker for my ear, it will suddenly stop, black out, then switch to the louder speaker, letting all my colleague in the office hear it. It happened hundreds of times by now.

Hmmm. I didn’t rate the app cuz I really haven’t used it yet, but right off the bat, I need to say something. So, I went to “mobile friends” to see if anyone in my contacts were on WeChat. I was surprised to find that it had one of my friends listed. The profile pic looked nothing like them, but I figured it was just an online pic that she found and liked, so she used it. However, when I texted her to make sure it was the right person, she said she was NOT on the app, and hadn’t even heard about it. So, I don’t how that happened, and I am wondering if I can even trust this app...

Wish I had ability to change ringtone. Everything is pretty much amazing, really nothing to complain about. I got this app around 2 years ago and use it since most of my family use this app. I think they should make it so we’re allowed to change or ringtone or text tone. It gets pretty boring after 2 years and having the ability to change it could really help. Other than that, it’s all good!

Incomptible with Apple Watch series 3 and iPhone X. So I basically have 2 problems: 1. My iwatch series 3 works fine with my previous iPhone 6s. When in switch to iPhone X, I cannot view any WeChat message from watch. I get notifications but cannot open it. It prompted me to restart phone and turn off wechat on watch to reset, but still does not work after multiple times. Very inconvenient and I don’t know if it’s a watch problem or a phone issue. 2. The help and feedback section on phone version wechat is not completely visible. The bottom section that allows people to input feedback is completely blocked by the bottom swipe control of the iPhone X, and there is no way to access the bottom buttons of the wechat help page.
