HVAC Duct Sizer App Reviews

Good app, needs iPod touch support. I bought this app for my iPhone. Very handy and good for duct sizing in the field. Next iteration might want to tabulate duct runs for friction loss. I hope the author of the program reviews the abilty for it to load on an iPod touch. When I tried to buy it for the touch it said that the application won't work on the touch because it needed a microphone. Unless there is a sound or db meter application I don't see why this is the case. I also bought the sister app for pipe siZing. Good little app also, hope the author continues to write and develop software for HVAC. Maybe pyschtometric app?

Best Ductulator You Can Get!!!. This is hands down the best ductulator you can get. The variety of options allow you to tweak whatever design conditions you would like. Waiting for a just now recommended upgrade for a total friction loss option where you could put together an entire system in order to size a blower.

Works great on my old iPod touch. I downloaded it on my old iPod touch (2 years old, I think). Anyway, it works great. I find that this app are a godsend; it is convenient to use, so that I do not have to run to the nearest computer every time I need to estimate duct sizes or velocity flow. Keep them coming!

A classic. This app has been around for years, and I finally got around to rating it. I use it daily and it's all i can ask for a simple duct sizing app. I love the emailing capability. Sure beats a ductulator. Love it!

iPod needed. Unfortunately I bought this app and then found out it does not work on the iPod, what's the point if it can't work on both.....should have been written to work on iPod touch as well what a shame.

Nice and handy!. Just learning to properly size ducts using Manual D, only complaint is the list of materials doesn't include fiberglass duct board

high quality accuracy.. Very accurate and useful. Relatively easy to use if you know how to properly size ducts. The only problem with the app is after you enter a value, the screen stops scrolling up and down so you can't see the results. You have to back out to the main menu then re-select the category (i.e. Size by airflow) to see the answer.

Foreman. Its Grrrreat! I wish this Application had a mode for lower numbers like 1 to 2000 cfm for Easy field Calculations and a QUICK rectangle to round converter. I like this App. and use it daily!

Works great.. You should see the eyes of an engineer when I pull out my phone and use this app to show him that I can change the size of his duct correctly because of a beam the engineer "missed" when designing the system. The best is when I go into a home and show the owners why my competitor installed too small of ductwork for their top of the line a/c unit.

Not a great interface.. The interface should be completely rethought. My old Ductulator is so much easier to use. I hope they improve the user input in future versions or I may have to write a ductulator app myself.

Good, solid duct sizing program. This is a good, solid duct sizing program for sizing a few duct runs in the field. I have used it on recent occasions, and found it to be great. I no longer have to carry a ductulator with me.

A classic. I’ve had this app for 4 or 5 years now, and I can’t believe how use it still is. It’s great that Carmel keeps updating it and now I can use it on my iPad.

HVAC Design & Sales. This is the most useful app I have on my phone, as my profession is designing HVAC systems. The app is intuitive, versatile and functional. It fits in my pocket. It's accurate. I use it every day.

Great duct sizer. I’m an HVAC engineer and I use this at work almost every day. It’s a great way to quickly size a run of duct and easily switch between duct types.

Update looks good.. Nice update. I like the new aspect ratio slider control.

Great. Finally an app I don't regret buying

Residential. Smaller increments would do great, 90% of hvac is residential and we need people to know how to size duct correctly!

Happy so far, but...... My only complaint is that there is no rectangular to round duct conversion function. This would be extremely helpful to me. Other than that I am pleased with the app.

Great update. I find I use this daily for doing rule-of-thumb duct calcs. Results appear accurate and it's good to see periodic updates coming out. I'd love to see a native iPad version developed, too.

Poor quality app. Not worth the money.

Worked before update. Was a great app but now doesn't show top of screen after entering values. Sliders are impossible to set accurately too. They always move when your finger is lifted.

Room for improvement. It's a little fiddly. And some obvious featues are missing. User request to be able to set the Pa/30m as a constant when in duct dimension mode. Pressure drop rates would be good in Pa/m, not just Pa/30m (who uses that!). Add option for user to input a K factor for a fitting and return fitting pressure drop. User selectable list for standard small duct sizes (ie 100mm, 150mm, 200mm, 250mm, etc). Duct aspect ratio being fixed unless changed in the settings page is very annoying. Oh, and metric units for duct dimensions should be in mm, not cm. Could be a neat app, but unfortunately my equivalent excel spreadsheet is much easier to use.

Big Bugs. If you set the max limit and increment for data in the duct inputs window and you come back in the user input windows, the rules bars indicate different limits. I'm not able to reset the limits values and the conclusion!!! I can not use this tool. I'm comfused !!

Piece of crap. Nothing more than a slide rule. I want My money back!!!!!!!
