Love this!. It’s not the cheapest but not the most expensive either but for the quality and accuracy, I say it’s very worth it! I’ve had this since my son was 4 months old and for a baby like that this thermometer worked perfect. It goes into the ear and within a second, it accurately reads your temp. I’ve tried the $60 forehead ones or the cheap normal stick that goes under the armpit thermometers and they just 1) take too long, and 2) aren’t accurate. This thermometer will give you the same, reading each time. A plus too is that it comes with a health app! I absolutely LOVE this app. It will automatically save the temp reading and the time it was taken, let you note medicine that was taken and symptoms, which then formulate into a suggestion of whether to monitor your baby from home or take the the dr. There’s a lot more I wish I could explain about the app but for sure this thermometer and app is a moms best friend when her baby is sick and I recommend 10/10!

The Best Tracking App when sick!. I love this app! I use this every time my 4 year old is sick. It doesn’t just keep track of body temperature, you can also add medications given and at what time they were given. You can add notes and track their symptoms and even set reminders for next time they need to take their medicine or set a reminder for anything honestly. The app also gives you advice/tips and home remedies. You can also create a profile for all members of your family! Tracking everything when you or your children are sick is a must especially if you can be forgetful or have more than 1 child sick at a time. It’s so helpful to have everything in the app especially when it comes to talking to the doctor. When I speak to the doctor and the doctor asks me questions I can easily look back at the app and tell the doctor every detail which helps a lot! I highly recommend this app to everyone especially parents of little ones!

Can’t pair device to two different iphones? That’s dumb. Like most people, this device was purchased to be used by a family. Sometimes, families include two adults and some kids. As such, this cannot be used by both adults independently because one thermometer cannot be paired with two iPhones... Sure, it can share data about infection rates where I am, but my husband has to be with me if I want to check my own temperature or that of the kids because I can’t get it to ever connect with my device. Would be a whole lot cooler if it did. So I’m returning it and sticking with my cheap Rite Aid thermometer - because it doesn’t have any weird, irritating quirks - it just takes my temperature indiscriminately.

Not User Friendly 😥. This is a good idea and I am grateful. However, Kensa MUST make it easier to interact with technical assistance. I have the smart ear thermometer and it crashes often and a message to contact Customer Service is displayed, but there are no instructions on how to contact anyone for help or during what hours. This is unacceptable and poor customer support. Instead of being able to speak with someone, I end up struggling with the thermometer, by pushing the Big Button, turning it on and off, until it finally displays the temperature. Then I have to search for where and to record my temperature and notes. I only bought the item after hearing about it on Rachel Maddow’s Show on MSNBC, but wish I had only ordered the little smart thermometer she has, though I am not sure it would have been any more user friendly than the ear thermometer, or if access to customer support would be a reality. This is concerning because I have told friends and family about the app and thermometers, but am afraid people will be upset with me when they experience what I am experiencing.

Good product. However app not very intuitive.. Giving a rectal thermometer test to a 2 yr old is not a walk in the park. Frequently I would launch the app, turn on the thermometer, and by the time i was able to get control of the karate kicks going for my face was finally able to stick the kasa, Kansa, idk what you call this thing, in her rectum….then came to find the thermometer turned off by the time the thermometer was inserted. So only click the on button when you have those karate kid legs wrangled and trust that the Bluetooth will connect to the app. It usually does. So again. 5 star product. 3 star app intuitiveness. strange how they wouldn’t extend the standby time of the thermometer in rectal mode to allow time to collect a reading.

Keeps crashing. I hate that the thermometer won’t work without the app, and the app keeps crashing. I just received my Kinsa yesterday as a replacement for my old Kinsa smart stick, which always works...but I thought it would be nice to have a wireless option and not have to have the toggle search to plug it in to my phone. The app and thermometer have given an “Err” reading at least 70% of the time, and it won’t let me take a temperature without the app open. Right now, the app won’t open for me, so I have a useless thermometer. It would be nice to just be able to use the thermometer “free standing” in a pinch. Or you need the app to actually open.

LOVE IT!. I was given the thermometer kit by my child’s school a few months ago. I was skeptical at first thinking it would be too much of a hassle but I was entirely wrong. It’s become one of the best tools, as a Mom, I’ve ever had. It’s a must have for self and definitely for parents. It’s easy to set up and use. It even troubleshoots for you if there is an error on the thermometer. I can’t believe I waited so long to use this. Definitely recommend this to anyone.

Every Home Should Have One. I was fortunate enough to grab this must-have Smart Thermometer for super cheap since I’m an extreme couponer. Even if I didn’t have any coupons, I’d pay whatever to own this much needed device during an on-going pandemic. I believe every home should have one as it literally does all the tracking for us from having each family member’s own account, to logging every temperature scan (with time attached) including symptoms during scan, medical advice/suggestions until you see a Dr, a history chart for the dr, scheduled alerts to take meds, and then ( BEST PART OF ALL) informs you if there is a Covid-19 and/or Flu rise/decline in your local area!!! Again, this is why I feel every home should own one GO BUY ONE TODAY! You’ll thank me later 😄

Very helpful in tracking.. I bought this before the COVID-19 pandemic as I was having many kidney issues and needed an accurate thermometer. Didn’t even know it had an app to accompany the thermometer when we bought it. I was able to track every reading for myself when my doctor needed to know how I was doing. I was able to add notes for symptoms as they were present so later I would have them recorded to correspond to the time of the fever readings. My doctor was so impressed she too a picture of the thermometer (which I had in my purse) and immediately downloaded the app. She sent me an email that evening and told me she bought one on her way home and was glad she did. Her husband has mesothelioma and she has to track many issues for him and was tired of opening a spreadsheet. Now all of her nurses and some of her other patients also use this app and thermometer. Later this year when my husband and I were stricken with COVID-19 we were able to both keep track of everything easily and not lose anything. Thank you for a wonderful device and app.

Best thermometer ever invented!. I have been having a hard time keeping track of my two daughter’s fevers over the past few days. I was using an ear thermometer that always requires checking both ears because of its inconsistent readings. My kids were having higher temps, 103 and 104 and I wanted something oral to be more accurate. I found this thermometer at Walmart and was able to get it within a few hours. I downloaded the app and paired it with my phone and gave it a try and wow, so easy to use!! I absolutely love how it saves the temps with the time under each profile. It also allows you to enter when and what meds were given and you can set notifications to recheck temps. When I entered additional symptoms that my daughter was having, it gave really good recommendations of what to do. I also received an email with further recommendations. I am a nurse, so I was impressed at the relevance and accuracy of the advice given. I wish I would have known about this sooner! Best $25 spent!!

Does the job but.... The app is the absolute minimum I’d expect for the Kinsa thermometer, but that’s about it. Basically just saves some of the data. For example, the export function looks like it just uses the data as it’s formatted when stored. Much more useful would be a csv file to enable importing into a spreadsheet for manipulation and graphing. Also, why only save a few days of data? Our phones have a lot of memory these days. And so on. I’d recommend the Kinsa folks hire a professional iOS programmer to make this a truly useful app. Right now it’s not.

Temperature won’t sync to app. I opened the old app this morning to find that I needed this new app. Downloaded and created an account, connected my thermometer. But, when I go to take a temp, it will not sync to the app. It just shows the prompt “turn your thermometer on and press the big button” and asks which profile to save it to. It never saves. I have removed the thermometer and reconnected twice with no luck. I’m very disappointed because I loved being able to track temps with the old app and I love my thermometer. I just want to be able to keep up with temperatures like I used to be able to. **EDITED TO ADD** As of this evening, the app is connecting to my thermometer as it should. I updated my rating to reflect and want to note that I am happy with the app now.

First gen no longer works. Frustrating Kluge.. Kinsa’s whole scheme is a horrible kluge. It’s a wonderful business model where Kinsa obsoletes the older stick thermometer hardware, even for the older iphones that have the 3.5 mm jack. The constantly updating app no longer works with gen 1 hardware. (And why does the app need weekly/monthly updates anyway? Oh yeah, “bug fixes and various improvements “ lol - it’s supposed to give you a temperature and it cannot even do the basics) And, if you want a quick start, to get a fast temperature, well you can forget that. Kinsa forces you to set up an account, email, password, internet connection, etc. otherwise no temperature for you. Yeah, data harvesting is way more important than the temperature that you need, like RIGHT NOW! Yes, you’re forced to wade through seemingly endless badgering and menus in order to try to attempt to get a measurement. This product is a complete SCAM. Save yourself from financial raping and nonstop frustrations - just buy a regular dumb thermometer from the store and run as fast as you can away from this over-engineered, software-mangled kluge with it’s surveillance spyware.

This thermometer by means is my all time favorite.. Wow I must say that the thermometer is great for the whole family Kinsa Makes difference thermometers I did purchase the one that kept the temperatures of anyThree temperatureAny three people you desire. If then gives you information on what could be the issue and ask questions and as you respond to each question it will provide some kind of answer that might be wrong with your child I like that it saves in stores up to three children at a time or adults The one second reading is a blessing try to keep a thermometer under A two or three-year-olds arm for three minutes, not happening thank you Kissa

I’m over the Covid bullying. This was given to me by a relative, otherwise I would either never have chosen it or taken it right back. I get today’s desire to upload and share every kernel of information to the world, but I just want an accurate temp reading. Why do I need an app to see my temperature? And the intrusion on my privacy? No, you cannot know my location and no, you may not share my info to the world. And the Covid garbage, you can eff right off for asking my vaxx status, and for offering shots and boosters in every frame of the app. I just need to know my temperature. 🙄 Gonna have to get an old fashioned mercury type thermometer that won’t divulge my health secrets to the gov’t and sell me on big pharma.

Documents everything. So I called in sick, in June 2021. It was nothing more than a cold, but I wanted to make sure I hadn’t contracted COVID-19. I took my temp 3x a day with no sign of a fever. Now, I could do that with any thermometer. I love the fact that this one documents every temperature reading and save it to your smart phone. When you need to show it to a nurse, or colleagues at work, they can see that you haven’t had a fever. It also compiles the meta-data from all over to indicate hotspots across the nation. I’m not sure how I feel about having my meta-data collected like that, but I do like the results of being able to see where the hotspots are.

Disappointed that Local Illness Risk is gone. Contacted support after weeks of the Local Illness Risk report was missing and replaced by big question mark with a option to look it up. No response. Well nothing works. Tried multiple zip codes and none of them do anything. I relied on that, but now I just don’t know where to turn. I have always given Kinsa five star reviews and have always had customer support return emails (a few times over past two years), so I’m really disappointed.

Missing a lot!!!. Either I’m missing something or it’s not there! I have two kids sick at once. If I don’t have the app OPEN and logging the child real time, I can’t indicate which temp was for which child at that time! I have to go in and delete temps. THEN, I cannot manually enter a temp for a specific time! I’ve figured out that the only item you can enter for a specific time was the medication, so my temp updates were all in the medications color. Further, I have been logging temps and meds for 3 DAYS and my history only saves the last 12 hours! That was USELESS when speaking to the dr! All of this needs to be fixed! I will stick to the old fashion pen and paper thanks!

Thermometer:Good App: VERY Poor. 5/25 Update: The app is very buggy and the latest bug I have discovered is that it deletes readings that have been saved. What is interesting is that it also deletes the entry in the Apple Health app too. Kinsa never responded to my earlier review below. The thermometer works well but there are issues with the app. Some of the bugs I have found include : double posting readings from the Kinsa app to the Apple Health app. Each reading in the health app ends up with a different UUID but exactly the same time stamp so it rather looks as this is a Kinsa problem. Another bug is if you export via email the data the resulting is not in any sort of order at all it just seems to be random. Also why only allow the export of a max of 14 days of data? Other bugs include inconsistencies when it actually saves data to the timeline etc etc Whoever is doing their App QA is not doing a good job and is bringing down the quality of the product.

Perfect tool and app combo. I absolutely love this thermometer. I have an old digital oral/rectal thermometer, a new forehead thermometer and this oral/rectal thermometer by Kinsa and this one is my favorite. It’s much easier to work with than the others just to turn on and take a temp reading. It’s easy to read with an emoji face and temp reading and you have it working with the phone app that immediately received the reading. It keeps record on app of time, temp, symptoms, medication and dosage, as well as an alarm to help keep track of next dose or reading. This app can also be paired with your child’s school and you can create a profile for each child or adult. It will send reading info to your school nurse and will notify you of illness cases in school reported and collected w Kinsa app.

Tech should be secondary to the primary function.. First and foremost, this thermometer should take your temperature quickly and easily. Full stop. ANY other functions technological or otherwise should be secondary. Instead, you have to download an app, connect to Bluetooth, set up an account, and set up a profile ALL before the first reading can happen. On top of that, the app was so buggy when trying to set up the device that I had to start and stop multiple times in the process, closing the app and restarting. This is frustrating enough, but when you have a sick 2 year old and you’re dealing with all of these unnecessary complications, the frustration is intensified. Once I was able to take a reading, I was given an error message three times before it would successfully read, but two additional attempts later were also unsuccessful. I am all for technology, but this device is giving tech a bad name and will be immediately returned to the store because it is worthless.

Helpful App. The Kinsa thermometer with app is really helpful when you have a sick child. The thermometer automatically updates your phone and tracks the fever each time you take your kid’s temp. You can add when medications were given and how much, set an alarm to check temp and track other symptoms. It tells you what course of action to take based on your child’s age and their temp. It was very helpful in giving me peace of mind for a care plan overnight.

Chuck Pappalardo product user. As a 61 year old Boomer I am usually very protective of my privacy. The way of being for people born in the late 50’s grew up in the 60’s and early 70’s, however, because of the Corona virus and the lack of preparedness by the Government regarding testing it seemed the patriotic thing to do to share my vitals so others can determine based on my locality how we’re doing In staving off the virus. Then I fell in love with the product. Easy to set up and easy to use. Thanks Kinsa you live the Spirit of San Francisco inventiveness...!

Where are you?. I’ve been a daily user of the thermometer and app since the pandemic. We have been extremely pleased overall with the thermometer. Lately, I’ve not been getting any feedback on area trends, and the thermometer has been giving a low reading and I know the low reading is not due to illness. I have not been able to access any customer service whatsoever and some links are dead. This would be a five star review if I at least got some feedback from the company.

Wonderful and easy to use. I downloaded this app to go with the smart thermometer I got and it has been fantastic to keep track of my family’s temperatures and other health statuses. I’ve been using it to mark down medicine usage as well, which my only complaint is there is no “frequently used medicines” to quick add medicine. Having to type in medicines each time is kind of a hassle, but it does still keep all the information all in one place. A memory feature would make this app practically perfect though!

Thermometer works app does not!. This app does not work. It literally will not open on my phone and is stuck on the agree screen. I cannot manually load my temperature. I’m now using the smart stick app so that I can record something. This is frustrating. My dollar store thermometer worked well enough and I could still have used the old app to manually record my temp. If you have any thermometer take your temp daily and manually load your info. You don’t need to waste 40 bucks on something that might not actually work on your phone(Bluetooth wouldn’t connect either). I do support reporting our temps though. This is a great idea to see where growing virus hotspots are developing. If nothing else record your temperature on whichever app you can get to work.

It works but it’s just not any good. Look, I just want to log my temperature, which sometimes I have to do several times per day. I just want to open the app and have it get the data from the thermometer. But no it always wants me to answer questions about Covid vaccines or other symptoms. I have a doctor, I don’t need to tell Kinsa if I have a cough. It’s no good at logging symptoms, either. It’s a set list of symptoms and you can’t change the options or the ones that pop up. Let me choose which symptoms to log, jeez. But, the core feature, working with the Bluetooth thermometer works well now.

Bring back the old app engineers!. First review ever! Why isn’t our entire history saved anymore? This is extremely frustrating when trying to tell the doc what happened two days ago! I trusted the app to save that info and didn’t write it down anywhere else! Please bring back the old app that saved entire history of family temps, notes etc for years! It was helpful to review what months my family tended to get sick. I’m also extremely annoyed that all of that data did not back up when I got a new phone. Disappointed but I also haven’t slept in a few nights with a sick kid so 😩

Why did we need to change the app?. I am frustrated at all the information I have to navigate through in the new app. The old app won’t sync with my thermometer anymore. The old app tells me to open the new app so it can transfer information across. It doesn’t do that. I can’t upload a picture instead of the avatars, which annoy me. I just want to organize my family members in the order that I’d like them to be across the top. One would think adding them in order I’d like would put them in that order. Nope. It’s backwards. I’d like to add the profile pictures I could add in the old app. The pictures allowed for me to see which family member I needed quicker. I don’t think I should have to memorize which avatar is my family member. A picture was faster. I’d like to not have all the suggestions on where to find a mask, etc. It is 2022. We know this information at this point. Move on from everything being all about COVID. Not every temperature is COVID related.

Best thermometer ever!. I’m a mom of 4 kids ranging in age from 14yrs to 14 months so I’ve tried quite a few thermometers over the years and this one is by far the best I’ve tried! Once you download the app to your phone you can add the members of your family or anyone you would use it on. Then when you take a temp you open the app up and select who it was for. Now when you have more than one kid, chances are you will have them all sick at some point in time and this makes it super easy to keep track of each kid, their temperature and it even allows you the option to add if you’ve gave them medication or not what time and how much and what it is. My favorite part though is the at home things to try for different symptoms going on. I love things that recognize that sometimes the best thing is rest and a few things at home before you rush to the doctor. I will definitely recommend this to any and every friend of mine for years to come

Every parent should get one!. I was shopping at target and came across the Kinsa in ear thermometer in the clearance department. I figured for $14 down from $50 that even if it was a bust that it was only $14. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I also found quick care under the younger thermometer for $9. I bought them both. Let me tell you they are awesome. You add a profile for each member of your family and it tracks by Bluetooth to your phone with each temperature you take. You can also add symptoms so you can track on a timeline how your loved one is feeling. They have a space for notes, diagnosis, medication (what time you took it), symptoms, temperature and reminders! You should also see if your school is a part of their FLUency program. FLUency tracks is Kinsa philanthropic effort to prevent the spread of illness and health keep healthy kids in school. They partner with sponsors to provide schools with free thermometers, a free app, and a live health dashboard for your school. These tools can be used to monitor your school's health and keep healthy kids in school, using only anonymous, aggregated data. All in all I suggest picking one up. Even if it is at full price. I will add this * the in ear thermometer seems to be about a degree off. So keep that in mind too.

Useless. Glad it was free. I hate this thermometer. You can’t use it unless you have the app. The app takes forever to load and the temp it gives you is inaccurate. I compared it to my other thermometer and this one reads higher. It’s a quick read thermometer which is nice when you’re doing rectal temps on unhappy babies but I question how accurate it is if it reads in only 2seconds. Are you expecting the temp to automatically upload? Well, too bad because it won’t. You’re better off using a basic ol’ thermometer and tracking it on paper or in the notes app on your phone or taking a picture instead. It’ll also tell you to contact your dr or go to the ER when it isn’t necessary. Avoid this crap if you can and just use a regular thermometer. It shouldn’t have to be this complicated to take a temperature. I’m done entertaining the app now and will be deleting it and throwing away the thermometer. I’ll buy a different one for the diaper bag.

Slow app. When the app works well, it’s a nice combo to have as you get a good kind of ecosystem with information about symptoms, etc., but the app is slow. Sometimes minutes just to get any feedback after a temperature. And then that awful message in the app, “Hang tight! We’re loading an awesome experience for you”? When a parent is dealing with a sick child, that’s a lame message in general, and is far worse and cavalier when the app won’t even function properly. Change that message Kinsa, and boost your servers to work faster. Or build more data into the app so it doesn’t rely on the server so much.

Highly recommend. I recommend this for any parent. It tracks fevers and keeps information for past sicknesses. You can add to track times you gave medications, symptoms, and any notes you may need. The way the information is organized is great. It gives a peace of mind for nervous parents, sharing general info and when you should be worried to possibly call the doctor. There’s alarms to check fevers or give medication again. Recommended this to any family.

Great thermometer and fantastic app. I live overseas with my family and I’ve been using a Kinsa thermometer for several years. I cannot tell you how handy it is to keep track of temperatures and symptoms, especially with multiple children who are often sick at the same time. The advice it gives is helpful and the record of keeps is invaluable when it comes to talking to doctors back in the US or going to the local clinic here. It’s a great product.

Buggy App, slow & unhelpful support. I’ve had nothing but problems since I ordered this thermometer from the manufacturer. Took a month to be delivered, it wouldn’t connect to app, password couldn’t be updated after was forced to delete and reinstall app, none of the suggestions from slow tech support helped, Kinsa app freezes when I try to link to Apple Health app. Eventually I’ve sorted out some of the issues on my own but who wants to have to spend days to get a bluetooth thermometer to work correctly?

Best ever. At first it was annoying that you had to download an app before using it but it turned out that setting it up took about 5 seconds and it is very cool how it tracks when you use it. Not only does it take your temp you can weight notes for you doctor, set alarms to take your meds and even take a short quiz to see if you need to go to the hospital. I also enjoy that it tells you on your the app weather or not your temp is a fever. By for the best one out there.

Great Thermometer. Thermometer seems to work great! I would suggest using it while you are well so you can get an average of what your temperature normally runs before you actually feel the need to use it. As I’ve always told my patients, there is no such thing as normal. There are only measurements that are considered normal. I would base my judgement of whether I had a fever on the average temperature I got when I felt better. I would also suggest doing this on any medical device such as this (blood pressure, pulse ox, or heart rate monitor).

The Best Thermometer + App Duo Ever!. Hands down the best thermometer I have ever bought. Where was this product two kids ago?! Haha. I love the app as well. The only issue I have with the app is very minor. When you go to add in a time of medication given for prior in the day “Tomorrow” actually mean the Current Day. AM and PM are backwards. So if you go to enter a medication give at 8:30 AM on August 29th you would have to do it by entering it in as 8:30 “PM” “Tomorrow” ... a little tricky at first and confusing. I hope it’s just a minor error and is fixed soon. Other than that it is literally perfection. Accurate and fast readings ..every ..single ..time! 👏🏻👏🏻 Kudos to the creators and inventors at play here! Very well thought out! Could always add in extra features as well one day. Always room to update and improve. The thermometer itself is just AMAZING... wouldn’t mind having some specifically made probe covers for the Kinda Quick Care Thermometer though instead of guessing online which sizes will fit and which brand to buy for it 🤷🏼‍♀️

Best app ever!!!. I’m a mom of 3 and I’m so happy that Kinsa saved me a trip to the doctors office! My youngest was feeling really sick, but after taking her temp and adding her symptoms, this app told me I could help her feel better at home. I called my doctor just to check, and he was really impressed with the guidance this app gave me - and agreed I didn’t need to come in unless she started feeling worse. So thankful! I will be using this app every time now for all my kids - and myself! Thank you kinsa!

Just got this yesterday. My family and I are traveling for a funeral. When we arrived at our destination, my son had a tactile fever. I went to the closest store, and this thermometer was the only affordable option. I wasn’t thrilled that it’s a “smart” thermometer, but it was $20 instead of the $60 option. $20 bucks, sold! It worked like a charm for the first few hours. He was indeed running a fever of over 100 degrees. And, it turned out I was also coming down with the flu, and was running a temp of 102.6. Unfortunately, the thermometer app only worked for about 12 hours. Now, every time I open the app, I get the loading screen. And, it never loads the app. It just keeps giving me the loading screen equivalent of the middle finger. It won’t save any data, and I can only use the thermometer manually. Thankfully, once it’s linked to a smart phone, I can still get a manual reading. I just can’t use the app. Edit: Apparently, there was an update released shortly after I purchased the thermometer. Once I updated the app, the thermometer/app started working seamlessly again.

I was wrong.. I’ve had some trouble with it hanging on startup, and I assumed that it was due to the app not able to work without the internet connected. Now I’ve tested it with the internet off and it does actually record temps and work. So improving my review to 4 stars. Not 5 since it does randomly hang when connecting, and makes simple measurements too complex, (measuring temperature and recording to Apple health shouldn’t need much UI at all, and certainly no button presses) but it does work without internet connections which is a admirable feature.

App goes bad. I’ve been using the Kinsa for over two years . Typically the app opened as soon as the thermometer had my temperature. Recently I’ve had to log in every time in order to record my temperature. Today I can’t even log in. The app fails to remember my logins. Very annoying!!! The aforementioned bug was fixed. Now the app won’t respond to my temperature being taken and most of the time has to be manually opened. When opened it takes time to connect and has to be closed and reopened before the temperature can be recorded…still annoying!

Inaccurate. Nothing is really wrong with the app aside from not connecting to my thermometer. I had the original kinsa stick thermometer and liked it so I decided to upgrade to the ear thermometer. It won’t connect to my app. I have done all types of stuff even made sure Bluetooth was on and it had fresh batteries. My phone won’t event pick up the bluetooth at all. It will pop up and ask to connect then when you choose to connect a message pops up saying it couldn’t connect and to contact support. Also every time we have used it it seems to be off and give low readings. We have two ear thermometer and this one says 97.7 and then when I use my braun ear thermometer it will be in the 98’s. The braun is more accurate and our go to but I purchased this to keep in our diaper bag and so that it could help us avoid manually inputting info into apps.

Almost perfect. This app works really well, for the most part. And the smart devices are affordable and generally work pretty well. The app interface is pretty good too. Intuitive, simple, does what it needs to do. My only complaint is that the app does not remember what medications you’ve been taking. The whole system is clearly designed to be a cold/short-term sickness manager. It’s not for tracking long-term medications. And that’s good. Except it means that you’re going to be taking Tylenol every six hours and Mucinex every 12 hours and DayQuil or whatever periodically over the course of five or six days and the app does not provide any kind of quick entry to log medications that you have already been taking. It just makes logging medication’s kind of tedious, and that’s a shame because it’s exactly the kind of simple tracker that you need when you’re sick, but sometimes a little too tedious to keep up with… when you’re sick. I think it would be great if the app just had a simple medication history you could pick from. If the app had that feature I would easily rated five stars.

amazing and gives good advice. kinsa helped me take care of my special-needs brother while he was/is going through his sickness. They send emails offering advice with remedies/ when you should contact a doctor or not. The remedies work very well for normal people, but my advice is to use your discretion if your “patient” has a special condition. Make sure the remedies are safe for your special-needs child. Other than that, the app is a 10/10 :) also love the way they incorporate the patients age.

Above & Beyond. This is one of the best apps I’ve had the joy of using. I’ve had connectivity issues with the hardware, but the software more than goes above and beyond. It’s not riddles with ads like other apps. It gives helpful tips and suggestions when ever it can. This is what a health app should be!!! Best of all, you don’t need the hardware to have this app be useful. I look forward to seeing future products from this company. Thank you for making your products so helpful!!

Kinsa for the win!. About 5 years ago Kinsa reached out to our district school nurses so handful of campuses can test out Kinda thermometers. They gave $20 thermometers for interested families for free! It was such an amazing offer! The purpose started out to track flu cases in schools and than covid rolled around and became even more helpful for school nurses to track grade levels of numbers ill students with fevers. Parents used thermometers and connected their childs profile to a campus and we had a good idea of not any names but numbers per grade level who may be ill. Love love love Kinsa and have purchased multiple for friends and families since than. I highly recommend this thermometer and love the app on both a parent and school nurse side!

CANNOT USE THERMOMETER WITHOUT STEALING YOUR INFO. The Quickcare thermometer is NOT QUICK. Needed a quick temp reading for a family member, and it DOES NOT MEASURE TEMPERATURE... unless you download the app, sign up, and agree to all their policies... including GIVING UP ALL OF YOUR INFORMATION. No warning of this requirement, until AFTER you bought it, driven home, opened it, and tried to use it in pure frustration only to find out there is NO OTHER WAY to simply use the THERMOMETER AS A THERMOMETER. How ridiculous is this? Regardless of the manufacturer’s too little too late response. This product should be a thermometer first, and data mining app second. It should default to the manual mode FIRST and not require an unreliable game of cat and mouse. If it is a data mining product, it should be given away for free, in exchange for its soul leaching data mining.

Great Tracking App. At first I only used this app to track when I used their thermometer. But I recently discovered that you can manually add in your own temperatures, plus any other information regarding your child’s health. For example: vomiting, coughing, when you administered medication, and even notes from your child’s health care provider. I’m loving this app now and you can see a time line of events that can easily be shared with the doctor. Also it shows your risk of Covid and the flu within your county. They also have health tips related to the symptoms that you entered in and also indicates if your child should see their doctor.

Very easy to use. All I need to do is open the app, turn the thermometer on, and it automatically connects, shows that it is reading the temperature and saves the results.

Tap Switch Celsius to Fahrenheit. Loving the app! Great design and functionality Would love to be able to switch between C° and F° by tapping on the reading or somewhere in the timeline instead of going to settings.

Still no French Languages. After seeing publicity in French in many stores, this app can’t add French after all those years... Not professional at all... They don’t care about us...

Peace of mind!. This app is wonderful for tracking the whole family. When new symptoms are input it takes you through a series of questions which ends in advice. Often, advice on next steps is exactly what I, as a parent, is looking for! I cannot sing Kinsa’s praises enough. It has really helped me stay calm and not panic when my child is not well.

Everyone needs one. I purchased mine when heard about what value there is to entire world in Kinsa tracking this data. Kinsa was ahead of the CDC on spotting seasonal outbreaks of the flu and now with the corona virus. Only thermometer you’ll ever need and can be used by multiple people and track them. Secure as only sending your temp from your zip.

Thank you peace of mind!. Thank you for making such a great product. The thermometer is much faster than any other I’ve bought from a drugstore but it’s the app that really puts this product into a whole new level. It is such a relief to see the next steps in the app about giving my child medication or taking them to the doctor. With a baby, it really helps calm me down. Great use of technology right here.

Love my Kinsa ear thermometer. I love this ear thermometer so much it has a smiley fever indicator it shows a happy face when it’s normal neutral for mild fever and sad face for high fever it also makes a beep sound whenever it’s on off temperature reading complete or if it’s showing error low of high thank you for this app I love it so much

Every household should have Kinsa thermometer!. This is the best thermometer ever. It arrived within 2-3 days after placing the order, it was super easy to set up & very easy to use. I love it that the reading is almost immediate & that it displays on the app within seconds of being placed under the tongue. It’s also helpful that the app displays your temperature history. I highly recommend this product.

I FEEL FINE ALREADY!!!. Every morning I run the app and every morning it says “we hope you are feeling better” despite never telling the app I was sick to begin with. I’ve tried selecting “I’m feeling better” several days in a row, selecting “no symptoms” on other prompts, and continue to record normal body temperatures, but every morning it’s still “we hope you are feeling better”. The app seems to believe I’m perpetually when all I want to do is log my daily temperature…

We don’t need an app for a thermometer. Received the thermometer through a baby shower. When I needed to actually get my baby’s temp I had to download this app and connect via Bluetooth just to use it . It’s the only thermometer we had in the house and I just needed a reading. We don’t need yet another organization obtaining all of our child’s vitals so they can share across a community anonymous temp readings. The length of the disclaimer/waiver is concerning enough. Do everyone a favor and just make a thermometer that tells me my baby’s temp. I don’t need an app for it.

New phone not working. I really loved this when it worked with my iPhone 7 but got the 11 and now it won’t sync or communicate. I’ve deleted the thermometer from my phone and reconnected/resynced and nothing is working. Even got the new app/firmware. The thermometer seems to work great and is fast but the app is letting me down. Doesn’t communicate, I have to manually add all temps, I did like the lag out of the app that says to only use with smart stick, also was able to edit temps/meds in case times were not correct. Sliding scale to manually enter temp isn’t very accurate either. I rather type them in and not use the sliding tab.

Love. I assume that because you have the app you have the thermometer. It amazing. I love it. My husband and I sign into the same account so that we can keep track together. It’s so nice to know that when he was up with our son he gave him Tylenol and took his temp. No needing to wake him up to know if I can give more Tylenol at 4 am. It’s more sleep for both of us.

Disappointed in my Kinsa. I was very enthusiastic about getting a Kinsa thermometer. I really think that the whole concept of using this thermometer to project trends is so important. I am a Retired RN who firmly believes in the saying “once a a RN always a RN. I live in a very large (500+) resident senior care facility. So with COVID19 I am very interested in what is going on. So I was so interested in getting a Kinsa. I presently live in a designated hot spot for this dreaded virus. I struggled to set up my devise. I am rather comfortable with technology so I found it quite frustrating. Eventually I found the problem. You sent out my thermometer with a dead battery! Now that I was able to change the battery, my thermometer started right up. Looks like I will again get enthusiastic about this technology. However you should have a better quality control system.

Local illness tracking less useful. Was surprised a couple of days ago when I opened the app, did and recorded by daily temp check and then went to look at my local illness tracking. What had been a useful 180 degree colored arc with percentages noted had been reduced to a single narrow colored line with no percentage indications. The line is small, difficult to read and provides far less information for those of us who have used the Kinsa thermometer daily to track Covid. Very disappointing. Went from 5 stars to 2.

Company ceased core operations. The CEO posted on LinkedIn that the company ceased core operations in October of 2023. While it seems like they are still looking for a buyer of the tech and IP, for now I wouldn’t expect any updates or support. Such a bummer- we’ve used this product for 6+ years and the customer support was amazing. Sad to see such a great product and service end.

Kinsa. I love the Kinsa thermometer and app. I’m very hard of hearing so any thermometer with end of temperature reading having a beep to let you know that it’s done is very hard for me to use. Also I travel a lot to work and my main in the ear thermometer is not as easy to carry around as this, so I love the portability. Thanks Kinsa for making such a great product!

Horrible. Why I’m GODS NAME do we have to have a thermometer that’s an app and you MUST and HAVE to have your PHONE to simply want to take your child’s temperature!? don’t we just want to go to the cabinet get the thermometer, put it under our child tongue and get a temperature reading? Why do we have to have an app? Why do we have to agree to service location? Why do we have to agree to putting in our names children’s names family on and on and on. This is a horrible product. Just buy yourself a simple thermometer that tells your temperature for your family without all this insanity

Kinsa Thermometer. I’ve been beyond please with my Kinsa! It works with my phone and makes keeping track of my family’s stats easier than ever! I’ve received the most accurate temperature readings compared to all of the forehead thermometers I’ve purchased. I would recommend this to anybody!

Best Choice for Multiples!. As a mom of twins it’s hard to keep track of who did what when and who had this or that temp. This thermometer is a life saver! Easily keeps track of which baby had a fever and when. Helping me keep sane and love the additional information and suggestions of next steps and caring for baby.

Manual input. I bought the smart ear thermometer about a year ago due to having a baby soon. When I had the iPhone XR, it would work perfectly. It would send the temp to my app and let me select the symptoms and see if I need to take her to the doctor or care for her at home. Now that I have the iPhone 11 and newest update, it doesn’t send the temp from the thermometer to the app anymore and it’s really frustrating because I don’t want to have to manually input it every time I need to use

Great for tracking. Kids are sick and this helps keep temps, symptoms, and medication times straight. Gives guidance on when to call the doctor, obviously use your own judgement here. So far very helpful. The Bluetooth thermometer would be a nice addition, but not required for app.

Very accurate and way to use !. Thanks for providing a great instrument for helping to monitor the health of the nation! My wife and I purchased two of your thermometers so we can have them with us when we are not traveling together. We also have ordered two more for our two adult daughters. Your app is well designed and easy to use. Craig and Sherry Lee

Works accurate and amazing tools. Best thermometer yet. Amazing upgrades to the app which log your medications and show the temp on your phone as it’s being taken. You can also have all members of family on one account. Super fast temp reading like 5 seconds!

I love this!!!!!. This is the best investment! I love how I can have the temperature read back to me in seconds. The downside is that I’m not sure if my baby moves too much but after 2-3 min I recheck the temperature because, I feel my baby warm in contrast to the 98.1 reading and I try again second reading is 99.1. Big difference from no fever to a mild fever. Not sure if it’s my baby moves a lot and is annoyed by medication and temperature check ups or what.

Love it but have a suggestion. I love the thermostat and the app I would like to say it would be nice to have the option to add health issues that require frequent temp checks. I am currently on Chemotherapy and have to check my temp often and it would be nice to be able to have that set on my profile along with other immune issues besides the common cold, flu and COVID

Great concept, poor execution. I like the concept here — tracking illness across whole populations to see where the problem areas are. This is especially relevant in the age of COVID-19. That said, I have some quibbles with the application, specifically with manual temperature entry: - Dialing in an exact number is infuriatingly difficult. There is not enough granularity in the slider to get the precise tenth of a degree, and if you DO get it, the slider moves as you lift your finger off the screen. This is just straight-up bad UI design by a company that clearly has designers and should honestly know better. - There is no mode for forehead / temple readings, even in manual mode. I realize Kinsa only makes oral and ear-based thermometers, but forehead models are in widespread use and it is incomprehensible that they would leave this mode out. I know Kinsa can do better than this.

I just need it to work!. The idea is a great one, however, when it takes 3-5 min for the app to load it defeats the purpose! They said monitor her temp at the ER but I can’t! Then when it loads I get an err on the thermometer by then my 3 yr old who has the flu is more cranky and doesn’t want to cooperate any longer. I hope you work the bugs out soon!

Love it!!. When I bought the thermometer I didn’t realize it had an app - I just needed a thermometer for my little. The app is awesome!! You can track meds, symptoms & temp. This is the first time my son is sick and I don’t have to worry about when I gave him his last dose of medication or what his fever was the time before. I love this app!

Love The Kinsa App 🤍. I absolutely love having this app, it definitely gives me a sense of comfort and direction. You can take your temp with the thermometer & you can input the symptoms you or your child is having and it will give you advice on weather or not you can manage it at home. Cause sometimes I really don’t know and Kinsa helps me to figure things out ❤️

Works great, when it works. This app is a great idea. It is just not reliable. I get the “uh oh, something went wrong” page pop up and it doesn’t record the readings. The problem is, that page only pops up the NEXT time you go to use the app...so all of a sudden it is a guessing game as to what the last temperature reading was. Great if you are just “checking” a temp. Not so great when your little one has a 105 fever from an infection and you are sent home from the ER and told to monitor his temperature. Good thing we didn’t rely solely on technology and recorded his temps by hand.

Good thermometer. Just got it a day ago; records your temp and you can look at your progression. It has a cute animation of an elephant blowing bubbles which you can stare at while taking your temp which is great for kids (and adults). All around, I feel more secure with it than my last thermometer.

Missing something. I think it would be really beneficial to be able to write notes in the timeline about how the child is feeling at the time or other information you want to remember for when you talk to the doctor. I’m currently writing notes in a phones note app, but it would be nice to have it all in one place and in line with the other events on the timeline.

Can we add a diagnosis option. I use the Kinsa thermometer frequently and my child has frequent Urinary tract infections. I would love the option to track uti symptoms and to also put the diagnosis of uti after we get a diagnosis from the doctor to put the other families attached to the school at ease that it isn’t something contagious going around. Plus to help me be able to keep a record of UTIs for the pediatric urologist. I think other children get them too!

Highly Recommend!. I love that the app gives guidance on when to call the doctor, when they should stay home, and general sick care tips. So much helpful information regarding your child’s wellness. My Momma brain is always second guessing, so that feature is helpful. ❤️

Requires app, won’t display results unless. This product is a piece of garbage. They would not display the results on the screen of the thermometer and instead require you sign up for an app and give an email address so that they can send you ads. .It’s one of the easiest to use scientific developments of all time to just display a temperature on a screen, but they won’t let you see it unless you sign up for their ads and have them harass you. And have to go get a phone to look at the screen and clog your phone with an unnecessary app instead of seeing the result on the thermometer.

Precise and useful guidance. I used to own the Vicks smart temp Bluetooth thermometer that gave temperature and history and wrote to the Apple health app. The Kinsa is next level because it is very accurate provides temperature and history and it writes to the health app and it also provides useful guidance and tips and a snapshot of the illnesses in your local area. I would like to see a different user interface instead of having one long scroll of all the information, provide Separate tabs along the bottom one for guidance one for timeline One for local illness and one for tips. Just my humble opinion Overall this is a fantastic device thank you Kinsa

Useful, but could use some updates. This is a great app to be able to look back and see a timeline of when your child is sick and keeping up with everything, but a feature to manually log the time for temps, symptoms, etc like there is for dosing medicine would me nice because I don’t always remember to go in and add those things immediately. That’s why I’m only giving it 4 stars.

Impressed. I really enjoyed this thermometer. I do not know how long this has been out but I would have bought one a long time ago. Note: I have only been using it for two days. The only thing that was a bummer was that the phone needs to be near the thermometer for it to Display the results. I was needing it to keep track of my mom’s temperature when I was gone.

Freezes and not accurate. Who wants to run to your phone and use apps every time you need to take your child’s temp. No where on the sales packaging does it say only works with app! Imagine having a crying baby with 105 fever but you are wasting time setting up a profile, email and password then only for the app to the freeze and have to log back in, Each time having to login and find your phone. Useless. Creates extra steps. Its a thermometer for gods sake. It should work with or without the app. Returning!

Don’t use the app. They used all data collected. When you down the app they make you sign up. They also state that they believe illness information should be collected to help control disease. Now they say that the data collected is not linked to you. But they state that they collect the IP information of where the data came from. Well IP information can be linked to you. So this company will collect the names of your children and all the temperatures they collect. Who know how much they will give to the CDC and who will show up at your house.

LOVE. I received this as a baby shower gift and loved that it has the accompanying app! It allows me to track his temperature when he’s sick to give the doctor accurate numbers. It’s such an easy thermometer to use as well as the app. I will be using this for my son for years to come!

Unable to add notes. I would give a much higher rating is there was a space to add notes. Specifically if any fever reducing medications were taken prior or add brief circumstances. This is a great way to easy refer to symptom log & accompanying temperature, yet without a space to add mitigating/aggravating factors, it is overly simplistic and unreliable in providing a holistic view of what a persons health looks like day to day. Hopeful for future updates.

Disappointed with Product. I have had major trouble with the consistent use of this device and he app. I had to contact customer support several times to seek help with syncing the device with the app. Moreover, I had a problem with the device giving off a L reading on the display indicating that the device was not able to detect a temperature reading. This occurred after placing the device into my ear canal in an unsafe manner. I am somewhat disappointed and frustrated with using this product.

Can’t use without phone. While the app may look and work nice I absolutely hate that you can’t use thermometer without the phone/app connected. What if I just want to take the temperature measurement and don’t care about all the logging / history / etc? Everybody wants to collect / log your data these days. Returning and getting the basic thermometer. I understand it may look I’m overreacting, but this data collection is annoying.

Hoping all kids school districts get these!. Great easy to use medical device. It would be nice to know what the distribution profile of this device is within a community to know how many data points make up each community’s fever map. Perhaps that number could be added in to the current fever map when zoomed in to make the numbers visible?

Dumb, rude, and slimey. The fact that the thermometer doesn’t function without the app is really rude design. The more accommodating choice would have been to have it as an option. It’s a digital thermometer, it’s not a difficult task. How is requiring an account helpful to the user in any way? Locking all functionality behind account creation suggests the core business model is collecting and selling personal information. At some point their database will get hacked and leaked and the company will put all its users at risk. This business mode is so gosh darned small minded and self-serving. I will happily encourage anyone to consider any other option.

One less worry. I am an emergency room ultrasound technologist. Everyone in healthcare is worried about becoming COVID positive. After learning about the Kinsa Thermometer, I thought what a great way to self assess for one of the symptoms for corona virus and do some public good by being part of an epidemiological tracking system for flu, and now, Coronavirus. This is a great service during a great time of need.

Update: Keeps logging me Out!. Update: the latest patch has fixed this error. The App works great now!! Every time I use the app and then leave the app and come back to it, it tells me it does not have the correct token. So I have to quit out of the app, re-launch it and login again every time which is super inconvenient. Please fix this bug!

Needs work. Great idea, but the interface needs work. As is, it looks like a kids app. Allow pictures for each person instead of childish icons. Allow setting who a reading is for before taking the temperature. My own temperature has always been a bit low, which yields a “Call doctor” and won’t even allow going on to symptoms. That’s silly. Allow a range.

Use of device *requires* the app. App requires account. The stupidest premise ever. The app isn’t an add on. It is required. To use a thermometer. What. And then you need an account. Presumably to store stuff in the cloud. Which Apple and Google already provide app developers a way to do in *the clouds they have already built*. But, you know - why *not* have *yet another* place where your PII is stored and can be hacked and stolen, before which the company will be sure to insist that there is nothing to worry about and all precautions have been taken, and after which the CEO will get a generous severance and go on to be a DC lobbyist while Chinese and Russian hackers are happily looking at your family’s temperature history and busily correlating it with everything else they know about you. It might not even count as a theft - I haven’t checked the ToS. I want to bring back the stocks and public shaming. Or maybe ostracism. For the makers of this app. I mean this is just borderline sociopathic.

Sync Issues Since June 27. Temperature data hasn’t synced to Apple Health since June 27. I take readings every morning and night. It shows up in the Kinsa app timeline however Apple Health doesn’t seem to recognize it. The latest update seems to have broken something. I had to log out of my Kinsa account and then resync to Health. Only readings from today (7/6) were transferred over to Apple Health. Again, everything since June 27th is unable to be read by Apple Health.

Good as the first app.. I like the new app. It’s cool. You don’t get to select your own pictures, but the kids like the characters, so big deal. And I’m sure at some point. The sync will Health Kit will be resolved. But currently. That’s the only thing I can’t do. But it gives you the option to sync with your child’s/children’s school. That’s a plus.

Not my favorite. I gave it a try to see how it will work. It’s ok. Did everything it’s supposed to do. But unfortunately it doesn’t have the Sesame Street feature and my autistic son loves that part of logging in his temperature. So I’m going to stay in the one I have already. Thank you anyway.
