Tech Review Comments & Reviews 2024

💸 Want to send money abroad for free?

We transfer money over €4 billion every month. We enable individual and business accounts to save 4 million Euros on bank transfer fees. Want to send free money abroad or transfer money abroad for free? Free international money transfer!

The articles are good but the app is trash. The app developers should add more functions like changing the font and saved list.

Great app...finally and thank you !. Always enjoyed Technology Review. Now I can red it offline and search prior issues...wow !

Lost my money due to to the app glitch. I had a subscription and when I signed in using the app, my subscription couldn’t be found. I thought my previous subscription was over so took another subscription. Turns out that my previous subscription has not expired. Reached out to customer, responded after 10 days and literally no use. I cancelled all my subscription. I do not recommended this publication to anyone.

Too rudimentary app. The app is like horse drawn chariot in the days of electric cars. Other than display the text in English(thankfully), it has no functionality. I give the stars to the contents and none to the app itself. Imagine it is already version 1.7. It should be beta 0.7 for a technology magazine app.

Woke up to a whole new app!. Have been a subscriber for years—real technology insights ahead of everyone else. The new app is fantastic. Was easy to get going, and I’m reading more stuff I didn’t even know they had.

Great app. Overall great app. One thing to improve for me is when you’re reading and article and you leave the app, when you come back to the article it doesn’t take you the part you were reading , but to the top of the page of that respective article.

Wish more features can come out. Love their content for sure, but I hope this app can display the articles on the website like Harvard Business Review does.

Glitchy Login. Unable to create a new account and link it to my Infinite Connection.

Great content - tiny font - lacks bookmarks. MIT, your content is excellent and informative. The app desperately needs customization for font size, currently too tiny. Pickup where you last left off or bookmarking would be more than welcome. Thanks!

New app fails to restore or recognize subscription. After signing into new app > I needed to kill app and reopen before it would show me as a valid subscriber. This is what happened after this new app updated on my phone… Opened new app, signed in with my existing subscription account. App UI would not update and show me as a valid subscriber. Kept show upsell to subscribe and not letting me read the articles. Signed into website to make sure my account was valid and it was. Went back to the app tapped restore purchase and it said success but app still did not update and show me as a valid subscriber. I needed to kill app and relaunch before it would recognize me as a subscriber.

Font size. Want to be able to change the font size baldness in family

Great app!. Love the design of the app as much as I love the content. Zero notes.

Nice, new way to get the news. The new app makes its easier to sort through articles and I’ve read things I normally wouldn’t have gravitated towards.

Great user experience. I have been a reader for many years but I’m new to the app. It was easy to connect my subscription and I love that I can save articles to read later. Definitely recommend - you can’t get these technology insights anywhere else!

Subscription does not include website. Fine Print: "subscribing in this way does not include unlimited access to technologyreview.com" FAIL i lost $35 buy not reading the fine print... if you want the App AND website access, you must open your account and spend the $35 on the website. Apparently you are punished for using Apple to setup an annually recurring subscription. How does that make sense? I just cancelled my subscription and will continue to buy at the airport newsstand once my remaining issues run out.

Don’t size. An institution as savvy as MIT should have an app that can adjust font size. It really reduces its accessibility.

Great Publication!. I rely on Technology Review to keep abreast of developments of interest to our local innovation community. Over the years, I have found it to be an excellent publication, well worth my time.

No audio read back option. I love MIT Technology Review & I’m a subscriber. However I’m also dyslexic. I wish there was a more accessible / inclusive option to have the text read aloud.

Not Synchronized with Web Subscription. I purchased the subscription on the phone using the credit card saved in my app store. Then later I want to access from web page, it doesn’t find my account and cannot access any issue.

Something called Tech Review should at least have basic functionality. Doesn’t hold your reading position, can’t read offline.

Perfect. The new version of the app is amazing. It finally brings together all aspects of the TR subscription and makes it seamless. Thank you and great job!

Great app; wish I could save stories into an easily accessible cache. See subject

Great app, at last!. I have been reading MIT Technology Review religiously for years and I'm so glad they have a great app to match their great journalism. I am a happy user.

Good app but.. The app is fairly good however there is no way to increase the text size. I have to squint to read it.

Great updated UX. Great updated UX to navigate around the magazine content.

Keeps reloading whenever I open the app. Keeps reloading and refreshing whenever I reopen the app. Cannot multitask at all. Surprising considering it's 2022.

App not opening. The app will not launch

Poor user experience , session management. Doesn’t remember my subscription and always have read on web instead

Always Resetting. Every time my screen turns off and I open the app back up the article resets to the top and I have to go and find my place again. This is annoying. Also it would be nice to be able to download articles so I could read them on a plane or in the subway.

App will not open/browser login req’d. Currently I tap on my app and it acts as if its opening but just goes back to my home screen. I am using the current version of the app. Any suggestions. Tho not this app…When I go to articles on technologyreview.com it always asks for me to login. Is there a reason it doesnt recognize me as a subscriber even coming from the app or from The Download emails?

Needs Work. I use the app on my iPad. It is very surprising that an app with the MIT representation, would not have incorporated some basic features such as being able to adjust font size to make it more accessible to this of us who are visually challenged. The content is great, please improve the accessibility functions of the app!

App is awful, content is fine. You know what you’re getting with the magazine. The app is terrible, I deleted it just to use the web browser instead. The app takes forever to load and if you lock your phone it closes everything and needs to load again and you lose your article and your place in it. Still have the same trouble, doesn’t provide any benefit over using a browser.

Very slow in loading. Ironically that a technology review magazine from MIT has a sub par app.

Reading MIT Tech Review for 10 years. I have been reading this magazine for 10 years as I love cutting edge technology and innovation and no better place to get it as far as publications go for a broad overview. Thank you for all you do.

Terrible App, Great Content. No doubt, the content from MIT is terrific. I’ve subscribed for years. But, the content is so difficult to reach. The app can’t keep me logged in. And reading in a browser constantly requires logging in and it’s common to loose the article I was logging in for and need to start all over. I’ve complained multiple times to the staff directly. They never have a solution that lasts. If I wasn’t addicted to the content I would happily drop this annoying process. Wouldn’t you expect that the smart people at MIT would be able to make the subscription and logging in process work? The New York Times can do it, so can many others.

Glitchy. Good content, poor user experience

My go-to tech news app. News aggregators are good and all, but I find it's a 50/50 proposition to find well researched articles that aren't actually rehashed tech or bio company press releases or opinion pieces. The Tech Review app is nothing but high quality tech journalism, and it is well executed to boot. Great user experience, fast load times - in short, it reflects the best aspects of the sectors that it covers.

Log in issues. Can’t properly log in - does not load password input page.

No access to website. Read the fine print! Subscribing through Apple does not give unlimited access to technologyreview.com.

Good articles BUT super bad app. - the app doesn’t store on which page you stopped reading - you cannot adjust the font size - doesn’t sync across devices

Functionality is still poor. The app is still not as seamless as the economist or wsj. But there is progress

Great App and Publication!. As I’ve tried to get my news and information without needing to go through social media platforms, ease of use and access to quality content have been paramount. The Tech Review has nailed this, and instantly converted me to a subscriber so I could experience the full breadth of what they offer! Access to everything in the magazine, plus so much more, is seamless, valuable, and fulfilling!

Basic functionality missing. Can not change font size Can not mark text or highlight No bookmarks, need to use paper notes to remember where I left ... Please add this features, thx

Would be five if you could change font size. It’s fine for me but this would be difficult to read for anybody had trouble with small print. Seems like an easy thing to fix!??

Misleading Scam. This is a scam. It is not an actual magazine subscription in the sense that nearly every other similar app is. It (1) provides no access to the same content outside the app (e.g., on the website) and (2) does not support standard iOS features like sharing links or bookmarking or opening in the browser. It should probably be removed from the app store.

Paid for subscription via Apple - app will not let me login. The credit card attached to my appleID has been charged for the subscription I made - but the app doesn’t recognize the associated email — so I have now paid $50 for content I cannot access. Waiting to hear back from help desk to confirm they will issue a refund.

App does not work well - can’t login access my paid subscription. On iPad, login prompts for user id, but not password. Don’t know if I’m logged in or not, can’t access back issues. Apps basic functionality does not work - MIT please fix this.

ONE SUBSCRIPTION. Have just one subscription platform please

The app doesn’t remember where you left off. When you switch to some other app to then quickly come back to Tech Review to resume reading, on every occasion, it would take you to the app’s home screen and not where you left off. It is so inconvenient. Please fix it!

It’s ok. allow reader to hide the top bar, it sat there the whole time spoils the magazine experience.
