Love this app!. I prefer using my actual book so I can make notes, but this is very convenient when I want to read something and don’t have my book handy. It would be cool if I had the ability to highlight and make notes within the app.

Needs daily readings.. I love this app. And use it often. Love that it’s free and easy to use. I just really wish it had a “daily readings” section. For daily meditations, reflections, etc. That would be AMAZING. Or have a option where you can activate push notifications for helpful reminders/motivational notes or quotes.

AA. I’m sober 5years 7months 25days! Thank you AA. I don’t just read the big book, I study it. I read and ask myself questions about how I relate to each sentence, just like I was taught, when I was in treatment. So many times, the words in this book, have got the wheels in my head turning in the right direction, that I was able to keep myself from doing something stupid. And thus, staying out of situations, that would lead to relapse. USE THIS APP. Live Aloha

AA. I am really using this for my prayer and meditation daily, over all it has brought me closer to my God. Not forgetting it has all the tools I need to practice these principals in my daily life. It one of the things I use to achieve a daily reprieve from my alcoholism .

Review. I travel a lot and sometimes find it difficult to find meetings to attend. With this app I can have a meeting with the God of my understanding. If there are 2 present, you can have a Big Book meeting. Very handy!

Not worth it.. Speaker tapes are of low audio quality. Big Book doesn’t save your current reading page after you close the app. Big Book is not 4th Edition. Meeting locator just refers you to numerous websites that have meetings listed. You can get good quality speaker tapes from various podcasts for free. You can buy 4th edition Big Book on kindle for price of this app. Download Meeting Guide app for free. This app is not worth your money.

Perfect Companion. Having been around for many 24 hours, the technology provided today for everyone is wonderful. This app offers many features that can help support the alcoholic: of course nothing replaces a meeting and personal contact. Thank you

Big Book is a help. Like having the Big Book with me using this app. Don’t always carry my hardback copy but always have my phone. Thanks for making it available. Also like the fact it goes right back to where I left off reading.

HELP. I cant login or creat an account. Horrible thing when I read a post about a younger person feeling ashamed to be in the rooms and I cant post anything, especially when no one else has, yet. But yes, great concepts. Literally can be a life savor.

Is what it is. Big Book always within reach. No interruptions. Only ad is invitation to purchase audio version for inexpensive price. I wish that invitation would convert to a link to the audiobook after one purchased it, but so far it doesn’t. Pure and simple product overall that I’m sure has been of great assistance to many.

Perfect for the New Alcoholic. As a person new to AA, I have found this to be so helpful. Not having to haul the Big Book around with me everywhere, but always having it on me is a huge relief if I need to read the book to help me get through something.

Portable and discreet. I like my regular big book because I can highlight and take notes on the page. This option is great for when I'm traveling on the bus or train.

Can’t even get the thing to load. I have an iPhone 7 Plus so my phone is perfectly capable of handling this app. High speed Internet that runs all the other apps just fine. This BB app loads the “contents” page where you can choose whether you want to read personal stories, chapters, etc. Each one that I click on just loads a blank page and I can’t get anything else. This is my first time trying the app so I am deleting it. What a piece of crap.

Portable. I have 42 years sobriety and I appreciate how portable this book is by having an app in my phone. I have found myself rereading it so often, and still, after all these years, there are phrases that jump out at me or I have a new understanding of a principle or concept.

Great App for keeping my book with me everyday. I only gave 4 stars because it needs to have bookmarks for specific pages. Maybe an index to go straight to a page not a group of pages would work. Overall this is great app just needs a little fine tuning!

Great app for recovery. I love having the Big Book with me all of the time! If I’m needing a little boost during the day I just go on my phone and read something out of the Big Book- it always helps!!! Thanks for making this a free app for everyone to access!

11/10. I absolutely love this app, to the point that I use it multiple times a day. I’ve found very few recovery apps that are free, and most that are free have been glitchy and/or don’t carry that much info. This app is also handy when I forget my B.B. at lit. Mtgs. It has all the prayers, too, which is a huge plus. Thank you for this !!

Won’t hold your place. The app content, obviously, is great. My only complaint is that if my phone goes to sleep or I click it off and then back on while I’m reading, it doesn’t stay on the page I was on, but automatically defaults to the table of contents. That’s frustrating, but it’s a great read:)

Sloppy unresponsive interface. The app does not allow me to sign up. It won’t let me enter my email. It returns to its splash (first) page instead. I can enter my sobriety date but it says, “enter a valid date” when I already have. The text on the sign up page is overwritten on top of itself such that I can’t completely see each line of text clearly. The pages are truncated, too. I hope these can be fixed. It looks like a great app, if only...

The Big Book. If you are curious, skeptical, or just plain old in trouble, this read is simple and easy. Some of the information is eye- opening, but it is pertinent despite the books age. The original text is a mere 164 pages, but it packs an entire new way of thinking and living into the package. The remaining stories of individual AA members are poignant. You may find some affinity among them, and a doorway to a new life!

Amazing. The idea of an ad in this app consist of a pic you just “x” out of right away. There’s audiobooks if you want to listen at anytime. Virtual meetings from everywhere are always available and more being added. The Speaker tapes are awesome as well. ✊🏼

It's the big book for free!!!. This is exactly what it says it is. If you would like a copy of the big book for free then this is what you should download. It works smoothly and is set up well. You can even change the font size like a normal ebook.

A Powerful Tool!. The single most important thing I need to know about my Higher Power is that I have one and to know and accept that it's not me! Of the many tools that keep me accountable, practice acceptance on a daily/regular basis, and keep me active in my recovery, this app is almost ALWAYS exactly what I need when I need it!

What A Blessing!. It’s so handy to have the big book on my phone for FREE!!!!!! I can at anytime look up a section or chapter of the 164 pages of text. The appendix is here and the stories from the 1st and 2nd addition as well. I appreciate have the other stories that I don’t find in my big book. It gives me something to identify with and that means HOPE of recovery. This has also allowed me to be of service. Be it a call from a fellow alcoholic at work or a newcomer at a meeting. It gives me more to share thank my own thoughts and understanding of the program. I also love the prayer section. It was so helpful when I was new to the program. I still use it almost everyday. Keep coming back. This app has done wonders for my recovery. Having quick access to the AA text and prayers throughout the day has strengthened my program and kept me from getting caught up in my thinking and self-will.

Read This One Night. Simply put, my body was tired and beaten. There was no joy in drinking when the next day brought jitters and physical pain. After a long overnight in the ER, I downloaded this app the next afternoon and read it nightly to maintain sobriety. Even if you aren't sure about giving up alcohol, please take ONE night away from the liquor and download this so you can instead read about s sober future. Read it sooner than later. You will be grateful you did and so will others in your life.

Just awesome. I love the prayers on this app it has become a big part of my day to just open it up and read them very well thought out app and super user friendly 💕

New format is worse than before. The new page formatting is worse than it used to be. You used to be able to scroll up and down seamlessly through the pages. Now you have to scroll side to side and can’t even see exactly what text is on what page. One single page is split between 3-4 frames. If you guys can change it back, please do.

It’s Free!!!. This app is so user friendly and it’s free!! It’s right at my fingertips when I need help or just want to read a story to remind myself why I actually have this app on my phone. Great tool and resource. Thank you.

Mostly helpful. I am grateful for this app. I like the quick reference to 12 traditions and 12 steps. The aa birthday is also great since I can count days and hours. I do have two issues. 1. This is not the latest edition so I cannot use it when reading personal stories out of the book. Also the page search just doesn’t work period. It always delivers an error regardless if the page is available or not because it’s an older edition. Fix these and it may be near perfect. :) Still recommend that you download if you want to stay sober. It’s the best of the rest. None seem to be 4th edition.

More. I gave this app four stars simply because it doesn’t have the long version of the twelve steps and twelve traditions with it. That would be very handy along with the big book other than that it is a great app.

Easy to use and I can take it everywhere I go. I love this app, and I love that it is free! It has helped me in my spirituality. I am a beginner in AA, I have most of the books already, but I enjoy this app because I can just have my phone or tablet and read from the Big Book when inspired to do so. This app makes it easy to say my daily prayers and to work the steps. I highly recommend this app to anyone looking for the Big Book or any AA material. I have just begun listening to the podcasts from this app as well. There are so many great things included it's amazing!

Friend of Bills. Awesome App. I use it everyday. It's so much easier than dragging my books into the meetings. Thanks for recently adding page numbers into the chapters. Makes it faster to find.

FREE and helpful.. The big book is so crucial to recovery. I can only taink the creators of this app for making it available for free. Of course, there are things that I would like better, like the ability to bookmark pages. But I have found that not been able to bookmark pages means that I pay closer attention to what I’m reading. So I’m trying to find the positive in everything.

Basic read only. Free and rEadable on my iPhone - unlike the one I paid for which looked like just screen shots. Only 3 stars though because this is SUCH an important text and I’d be shorting myself greatly to just use the B.B. in this format. Very basic, no selecting txt, so no ability to look up definitions, highlight, create references, add notes, etc.

One day at a time !!. I ❤️this app. It’s so easy to use. The layout is great -i go straight to the prayers first thing in the am n start my day off! I think it’s the most friendly to use big book app out there !

Great little app. I just have the free version, I try to carry my big book everywhere with me. Most important thing I have found on the app has been the prayers. Really has been helping me align myself on which side of the street I want to travel. Highly recommend!

Like the app but lots of typos. Have used this app for a couple years now and the typos still haven’t been fixed - otherwise I appreciate it and good that the developer made it free. Typos could easily be fixed, I’d do it for free as I’m sure many others would

Excellent. I really appreciate this app & the folks I get to use it with. I thank the God of my understanding who gave me this disease. He is all powerful & chose this disease for me - wow, thank you HP! It could have been terminal cancer, but in your wisdom, you gave me terminal alcoholism AND a prescription for living (medicine): help others. Simple, effective and not easy. God loves me too much to make is easy & I’m grateful for that & this app, which contains the message of hope, so I have it with me at all times. Bob K

Amazing and easy to use. I love this app. It really helped me get started on prayer and it's such an easy, handy way to access the big book 12 traditions 12 steps. Even reading people's comments is a huge gift.

Do The Next Right Thing. I was frustrated because many Recovery Apps have a cost or in-app purchases. While this app doesn’t have as many “bells & whistles”- it does have exactly what I needed: a copy of the big book, personal stories, and prayers. For anyone looking for an accessible way to read recovery on their device- I highly recommend this app.

Attitude of gratitude. I am so grateful for this app. It is easy to navigate and has lots of helpful information and good references to the aa literature. I use it several times a day and am never disappointed. I highly recommend for any one new or returning to aa that is seeking a resource to help them grow in experience, strength, and hope.

Huge Font!. The font is so big you can’t see an entire page of the book despite changing it to the only smaller size. Scrolling is only allowed from side to side, not swiping up. The sobriety calculator wouldn’t work for me. Kept saying put in valid date in past. I will give it a couple months to see if changes are made otherwise it’s unusable to me.

Dark Mode?. Hey just wondering if there is a dark mode for the app and readings. It would be greatly appreciated and I would definitely pay extra for it! Thank you for creating such a great interface for the book.

So far so good. I’m really loving this app.. I’ve had this app for several months but am just now giving it a try. I like its simplicity and it’s thoroughness. Everything I need to stay on track.

Encouragement at your fingertips. There are lots of type-o's. And the stories included are only from the 1st and 2nd editions. Add in the 3rd and 4th edition stories and correct type errors and you'll get 5 stars from me. It would also be nice if when you "share" a page that it would send that page and not the whole book. Or if you could copy/paste the text (which you can't do for some reason).

Just getting a blank home page on iPhone XR. Used this app and loved it on my iPhone 8, but just got a new iPhone XR and it just loads to a blank orange homepage with the logo. Tried deleting and reinstalling and same issue. It’s a shame because this is the only one with both the big book and prayers!

Big book to go. I am a re-tread and spending more time this time around in the BB. Aside from the occasional typo/format hiccup this version is a great find for free!

Handy to go tool. I love being able to carry the messages of this book with me wherever I go. However there are a lot of stories missing that I would love to have access to!

Crashes constantly. I’m new to AA and trying to highlight as I read through the Big Book. Unfortunately, the app has crashed at least 5 times in as many minutes. So frustrating!

Just what I need. My phone goes everywhere with me and, now, so does the Big Book.

Lots of Distracting Typos. There are many typos, making reading of an already challenging book more difficult. It’s especially distracting while reading aloud in Big Book Study meetings. There are better Big Book apps available.

Really like being able to have it everywhere I go.. Having the big book on my phone is really nice.

Can’t log in. I’ve never had this app before and it’s telling me I’m someone else and won’t let me create an account or remove it. It says welcome back with someone’s email

Annoyed.. I hate that when the app. Or screen closes and you reopen it it doesn’t go back to the page you were on but opens back up to the beginning choices. i.e. chapters, personal stories, prayers etc. this is very annoying

I want my money back. None of the stories show on the app, I purchased the $4.99 version. None of the chapters show up, 12 and 12 doesn’t show. Literally none of the sections show any information when I click on them. No personal stories, no prayers, no chapters. Nothing shows up.

It’s 90% Great. It’s really convenient to have this app with you wherever you go. That being said, almost every page has a grammatical error. i.e. no spaces, no periods, commas where they shouldn’t be, etc.

Thanks. Every time I read "The Big Book", it ensures me in a positive way that I am still an alcoholic today.

Great resource.. This app helps me. It’s especially useful when traveling or when I need my BB but don’t have it with me. This app and the Meeting Guide app help me stay in the solution. Grateful.

Great. The only thing I can think of to make it better would be have the ability to highlight. If the book mark feature worked on all versions I would have given it another star

It’s a life saver. This app enables me to work a better program because the material is at my fingertips so there are no excuses.

The old stories are here!. It’s the only app of the big book I’ve found that has the first edition stories in it and some of the AA pioneers had something to say believe me.

Big book. I use this app daily and for the good graces of my higher power and the fellowship of AA together is helps keep me sober, grateful and humble.

One thing wrong with this app. The app does not go back to the page last read. I either have to write down what page I was on or have to remember. Drives me crazy

Doesn’t work anymore. I used to love this app. It was great. Now it never works on my iPhone. I’ve deleted it and downloaded it again and again and it just doesn’t load when I open the app. Could you please fix this so that I can have the big book with me at all times? Thank you!

Great app to have on hand. I'm a full time missionary to Uganda and use this app myself and recommending it to others here. Hope to see a lot of recovery here soon!

Needs An Update. The app crashes on the startup screen. It’s been doing this since the last update. Hence the 2 star rating. Other than that is a really useful app. Hope this gets fixed in the next update then it would be a 5 star rating.

Great. The only complaint is when you switch apps or leave the app it loses your page. But that just me being in grateful and selfish I guess lol.
