BUGGY APP!! Good local weather reporting. Biased news.. This is the only available local app with full coverage I can watch on the go otherwise I would watch another. Best weather coverage and good anchors and fairly good local news coverage until election time got here. However very obviously biased since Hearst took over. Consistently critical of Republicans and Trump. Shamelessly doesn’t make any attempt at balance or real news. Guess I’m old enough to remember when the news was actually about news. The app itself has always been buggy, but lately I can only get to the first animated commercial, then it hangs up. I just want to get through the full weather report and and the low down on COVID. I can’t stomach your political crap! Bought a new streaming service so I can get something better. I’m breaking up! Tired of brainwashing and fake news.

Combination is good!. I only used the weather app and then when they were combined I found it beneficial to have news and weather in one place. My weather app still works even though you said it would be removed in January. Holli Hoover

On point!. I really enjoy the regular updates on local and world news as well as weather updates.

Same ad over and over drives me crazy!. I like the app and love having access to the news but being forced to listen to the same ad over and over without being able to disable it is annoying in the extreme. Perhaps if you only had to hear it once when you first land on the page would solve the issue. Please fix this!

Mrs. Vi Parramore. I love the information you provide daily. The articles are interesting and timely. I like the option to read the articles with the option to cancel the adds. I rarely listen to videos because I can read articles at a faster rate. Thank you for providing the printed stories on many of your articles. I appreciate the headlines so I can immediately review the stories of interest. Overall I am extremely pleased with your app and the news cover stories! Thanks for the great information!!

Review. I like your app, but am confused by some of the articles that have a topic in the title, but when you look for more information, the article only re-states what the title says. It’s probably my ineptitude, but I do get frustrated. I agree with another reviewer that having to listen to the same commercial every time you open an article is a real deterrent to using your site.

Fred. Sometimes the video will begin and there is no way to find out what is going on. We use to be able to tap the video and the information would be there. But now, all you see all the ya down the page is “What is going on” frustrating

WVTM Channel 13. I enjoy the content and constant updates on weather and news. I enjoy the on site news on live events also. Keep up the good work.

Needs some work. I keep getting news alerts & when I try to view the article, it isn’t there & takes up to 10 minutes to show up. Even a search for the headline in the app doesn’t show anything. Fix your lag time or hire better staff.

Too many commercials. It is frustrating to have to watch an ad for almost everything you click on. I usually end up just clicking out of the whole thing. And sometimes I can’t even find the article you are telling us about. I like to keep up with local news, but this just isn’t my “go to” place.

Weather app.. I liked it better when the weather app opened up and was separate from the main 13 news app. It was much simpler to go weather and get resoyou wanted. Love channel 13 though.

Disappearing news. I love your app. I hate to choose which articles to read. When I open one story the rest of them go away.

Love this news station. I love the information y’all provide it’s up to date hourly and I look to y’all every morning on tv and while I’m at work through my app

Keeping it real. Thanks for caring about the things that we need to know. Thanks for educating us on weather safety and COVID 19. Everyone seems like they are genuinely concerned about viewers.

Radar. When I put in my location I want the radar to show a close up of my location. Yours doesn’t!! It gives me a written description of current weather and temperatures but I want to see the radar for Me. I hate to say it but if there isn’t storms I will be watching Channel 6 for my weather. 6 shows my area every time I open the app ( close up).

PLEASE keep weather separate. And keep it the first thing to show. I go to the app several times daily for weather info

Bad app. This app is all about news not weather. All about ads!!! We don’t care we want weather. Hard to get instant alert. Radar is so so slow. We need alert first not news. Step up or give us our go to app back. Very disappointed. Wayyyyy too many pages to navigate to find weather. Can’t believe this app is so bad for weather. Need needs to be a choice not radar. Radar should be instant gratification. Messed up on this one. Please fix since we had no choice on app. Hearst is the worst.

A Must Have. This App is one of the top 3 apps, for breaking news notifications, weather & everything Alabama.

Rating of News Coverage. I like/appreciate in-depth reports by your staff AND community issues presented AND interviews/fact-finding of decisions made by elected officials. Reporting appears to be neutral and unbiased. The “Breaking News” feature keeps me informed in “real time”.Rebecca B. Tinker

Brittany…... Brittany Decker is so fine. I could lick her from the tips of her toenails to longest hair on her head… that includes all the places in between that supposed to have hair that don’t. Damnit she is yummy!

Love WVTM 13. ...but I’m confused by some of the alerts on your apps. When I get an alert and click on your app, I expect to go straight to the “alert” information and that doesn’t happen. On occasion I even take the time to try to find the link and can’t. Example is when the alert says Trump is speaking live...and I click on the link there is nowhere to watch/listen to him. Then I Google to find where I can watch/listen live. Also...I get “alerts” for things that I consider frivolous, i.e. “beautiful sunset from Red Mountain” and “easy recipes during quarantine”. Neither of those require my attention immediate or otherwise. And lately I’ve been getting notifications that “WVTV 13 is LIVE”. My question is “live about what”? Please be more respectful of users’ time and attention. Thank you very much.

Blank screen. On some mornings it shows commercials and then go blank and back to commercials especially on weekends.

Deleting app. I have always liked this app for local news until the last year. The format change and ads are annoying. Today the ads started auto playing and you can’t skip. Who has time for Ads that are irrelevant to me?

WTH. It’s been almost a month and I can’t watch the news on here. I can see the commercial just fine but the new just won’t load. Please fix this

News Pushes. It is almost laughable when I receive a “push” and open it to realize other news feeds had reported days before. And as several have fussed about, the commercials blaring with no skip option, no thank you.

Too many ads.. I have stopped using this app as regularly because of all of the ads and other clutter, especially during this stressful time.

Add read option. I would love the option of reading the news articles in addition to video. Sometimes my internet is not fast enough to play the videos. Also, can you update the news more often, especially on weekends. I love the Stitch articles.

Wish they would have kept the weather only app. This app is worthless, you have to watch a 30 second ad before you see either the weather or see a story. Miss the weather only app.

My #1 Choice. Bham has many local news sources across a variety of venues. WVTM13 in my opinion provides the best newsworthy content both locally and nationally. The app is user friendly so ‘you’ choose what alerts to receive from wherever you decide in the Birmingham area. The weather app (now combined with the news app here) keeps you quickly informed using the most advanced, accurate weather information. (lightening detector/my favorite feature!)

Rating A+10. The only channel I watch.

Worst app of all Birmingham TV stations. I don’t know which is more frustrating: superficial stories or ads in the middle of the stories that omit half of the information. Either way, the app is crappy.

not staying where I was at before reading post.. I hate when I read an article. I finish it and then it general always takes me back to the beginning of the app, instead of where I left off at. Really leaves me to have search back to where I was last.

WVTM App. I’ve been receiving notices that the WVTM Weather app is going away in January. That app is my go-to weather info companion and I use it many times a day both here in Birmingham and when I travel out of state for work. I think it’s great! I understand that the weather features will be combined into the WVTM news app site, which I also use as my news source at least a couple times a week, but not nearly as often as your weather app. My preference would be to keep them separate. However you combine those two I am concerned that I’ll have to fumble my way around your news site to get to the weather. If you’re going to take away my direct-connect with the WVTM Weather, please, please do all you can to make the link obvious and placed on the first screen I pull up. WVTM is the best. Sad. That is sad what you did to your radar app, forcing people now to go to your news app first. People are driving perhaps and need quick radar information. You should have done like WBRC and just have an opening quick ad and banner. See ya later.

Headlines sometimes buried. Hear a story on tv need and go to web to find related info. Too many times search is frustrating due to TMI on site and no good way to search.

Quality?. It seems far too often that the broadcast quality is lacking. Either it simply doesn’t come in or it is not HD. Yes, I know that might depend on my server, but I NEVER have an issue with the commercial you run as the program begins - funny, huh?!?

Feature article. The feature article pops up and then one must wade thru multiple other articles before finding featured article. When it can be found 😟

News stories. News stories I want to read will not load. Just a white screen This is a new development. Please fix

Notification settings don’t work. So. Many. Notifications. Even when you change in the settings what you get alerted about, you still get the notifications of the things you turn off!!! Going to to switch to another Birmingham news app. This is so sad.

Please bring back separate apps or weather. This app now includes the weather app and it is not good - doesn’t save or even recognize current location well - and way too many ads.

Stop the commercials. I love the app but it has too many commercials I would love to go just straight to the news but I still love the app . I’ll be on my lunch break , yes I know I am not the only one. Yes I know the commercials Pay for the APP. Just saying!!!

Interrupting. You should just post real breaking news, not weather going to be toasty, mayor doesn’t like something, covid numbers (ad nauseum), cat rescued by firemen, etc. It should be REAL and a matter of great importance. Otherwise, I love WVTM 13.

Too many fluff stories pushed as breaking news. Good for weather updates, but I finally decided to delete the app because of its insistence on sending push notifications for the most mundane human interest stories despite me having my filters set to “breaking news” only.

Reopening Schools. This special with Lisa Crane is awful, awful. You can’t understand what she’s saying through the mask. She is a great reporter but not with this special. Is there anyone in the room with her that requires her to wear that mask?We change the station.

Breaking News. There are several breaking news stories everyday with the WVTM 13 news app.

Getting the Yankee Out Of Me. Not that I am opposed to Yankees, my mom was from Bayonne New Jersey. However, my father was from Orange Texas and the for some reason, the south stuck with me. Nice to be back south. I never lived in Alabama nor passed through this beautify state in my 63 years. I love this place, the people and OH YES this station. I get pop-ups routinely, listen to southern accents on your videos, and love the news pods. As for the app, A#1! When I travel and I do a lot, I still get my news updates. Thanks WVTM.

Garbage. Who wants to hear a commercial when trying to get the news? I don’t. If this keeps up I might have to switch to another station.

Don’t download unless you like ads and only consume news via video. This app is terrible. WVTM pushes clickbait news alerts. You click on the alert, and without warning, an obnoxious video ad will begin playing, at volume. Then, a usually-less-than-informative news bit will play. It wouldn’t be completely awful if they didn’t auto-play their videos. WVTM’s weather app is good, but you should pass this one up.

iPad app?. New app available. Only for iPhone. What about iPad users? And what was the matter with the old app? It worked fine.

WVTM13. I love this app. I am able to keep up with the weather which is important to me since I live where we get a lot o major storms. It also keeps me up to date withe the latest news no matter where I am. Oh, don't let me forget to say how awesome it is being able to know where traffic bottle necks are.
