Excellent tool!. I had purchased the Road Trip Planner for my MacBook Pro and have been using for about a month. The challenge is lack of portability and found this iPad App. Traveling via motorcycle is much easier with this app on the iPad!

Planning definition -. To think about what point you want to go from another point where you want to begin. This one like the three others I tried make you start from where you are and want to track you where you progress. I am flying somewhere else then driving from there. No pin drop allowed without exact address or data downloaded from something else. Planning not allowed. Want 5 stars? Dumb it down and allow me to be smart. Allow me to just put pins in cities and towns and pick my path and once complete compute the distances and let me decide how far I want to go and drop pins in hotels and campgrounds and places to eat. Collect what I want from me and then collate. Going to just go sit at google maps and print to pdf after I look it all up myself.

Review. Why would an app ask you to review the second you download it ? There response was feel free to hit the cancel button ?? Why ask for a review the second you download it

Road trip. It not very clear how to use.

Stupid. This app is dumb! Not user friendly- you think it’s complicated on the app go see the desk top version that btw you have to use to view anything on the app...... using this app is like playing poker in the dark with a group of 4 year olds

Confusing app. App is not intuitive, gave up trying after 5min

Very disappointing. First let me say I’ve been using computers for a very long time and I can generally figure things out pretty quickly using the trial and error approach. Appreciated being able to try a free version before buying the full version. So I started with trial and error and soon realized that wasn’t working for me. No problem, I’ll use the tutorial. Swiped through the examples and thought “cool” this is easy. So, started a pretend trip, which should have been pretty easy. Home to 2 poi to home. Got the home in. Even got the first location in. Couldn’t figure out how to add the second location because the + sign wouldn’t come up again. Back to the tutorial. Went through that again. Started over. Same issues. Played with it for about an hour or so and finally decided to move on. I agree with the person who commented about Streets and Trips, not because I’m looking to go back to a pc but for its functions and ease of use. The developers snarky comment to a helpful suggestion from a customer told me all I needed to know.

Need a tutorial to navigate. It would be nice to know how to navigate this app. It feels like something that could be useful, but I am having trouble figuring it out.

EASY to use. So EASY to use, we transfer files (trips) between our IPDADsthen we independently review We can easily pull up old trips to find our good memories along with data like cost, distance, how long we stayed…. Who could ask for anything more!

Just right. I’ve spent a lot of time searching for a trip planner, this one is beyond my expectations. The tutorial is just the get started guide. I’m traveling full time in our 5th wheel trailer. I downloaded this app after starting this seasons trip. Many of the features available were not in the tutorial but in the sample, so don’t forget to check it out. When entering dates and times I found the travel time was added in the data. One of the best parts in this app is the ability to edit the errors easily. Bottom line I’m loving it!

Just starting. Nothing seems to work. Can’t edit pin names Can’t share contacts

Totally Frustrating. Tried to use the demos numerous times and kept crashing. Contacted support and they said try a different browser-safari, no luck, Firefox, no luck, Chrome, no luck on either my iPhone or IPAD. I’ve tried to set up a password for the subscription I paid for- link doesn’t work. I’m going to have to send an email to technical support just to cancel the subscription I signed up for.

Unknown sp. I haven’t the faintest idea of what this app does!

Wish it worked for me. Not able to get support without joining google groups, then the support is mostly other users. The app doesn’t recognize that I paid for it. So won’t save or route my trip, therefore useless to me. Apple App Store marks it paid for So bummed can’t get it to work

Pick a point and more. I have been using this app for a couple of years now. 24 National Parks and counting. I pick an ultimate destination and edit stopping points along the way. I try not to drive more then 3 to 4 hours between stop overs. This allows me to see the routes and time travels. I can insert new POI/destinations and edit the pins to reroute accordingly. I am not to techie,so probably don’t get the most out of apps? But I believe that free apps are just that and no one makes stuff for free. Always room for improvement, but time cost money and programmers aren’t free.

Hard to understand. I was trying to figure out routes that can be taken driving across country and it’s not very good at explaining how the app works

Just a map app. I don’t see why this is any more useful than maps. There are no features that allow you to set a destination and plan a multi-day roadtrip, by setting the destination and adding legs of the journey while looking at the entire route and seeing pois on the way. You have to know where you want to stop ahead of time and that can be mapped with google or safari maps. Or maybe you can do that but it isn’t user friendly then.

Going to have to pay if you want details. Miles, time, tolls, ... Trying to plan a trip, but this version won’t specify details from one location to the next?

FYI. This is a view only app, there is nothing you can edit. I downloaded this app looking for something I could map out the points of my road tip with, and you can't do that with this. It's ONLY so you can download a map you've made previously on your computer to VIEW ONLY via this app. I only gave it a 3 (instead of a 1) because had I downloaded this for its intentional use, who's to say it wouldn't work for me just great (as far as providing what I needed).

Don’t waste your time on this.. Deceptive way to force you to purchase. Should have allowed saving with few pins so that we can see how it works. Developer responses are just rude, lacks compassion to understand basic feedback

Rip-off. Before you can even plan a trip, you have to buy the app unless you want unsaved edits. Total rip-off.

Not working. I paid so I can save my trip and it is telling me I can not save my file. Also, it does not auto-populate the addresses.

Very difficult. Very difficult to figure out how to use. Haven’t programmed a trip yet?!

Bait and Switch. Fails to advise you can’t save your trip unless you save. Bait and switch.

No elevation chart as advertized. I downloaded the app for the elevation feature that is advertised but foe the life of me I can’t figure out how to access it. I wrote to “support “ and all they did was refer me to the online help page which only says that the elevation chart is very handy but don’t show how to access it! So far this app doesn’t appear to be what it claims.

Scrambles Stops. I spent four hours planning a trip, and when I came back to it, the stops were scrambled with regard to the order along the way. Many were also missing, even though I added them using addresses, city, state, etc.

App is terrible - Desktop version great. All the app does is display a map of your route. Pain to have to open computer to get more info when phone is always handy. No arrival or departure dates, no address of destination pin. Pretty much just a non functional picture. But the desktop part is great.

Not very user friendly. This has the potential of being a great app, but as is, its mostly just frustrating. I have yet to figure out how to delete a pin once it’s placed without deleting the entire file and starting all over. There also does not appear to be a search function in HELP. If there is and I’m missing it, that’s just more evidence of being non-user friendly. The developers would do themselves a huge favor to study Microsoft Streets and Trips for useful features and intuitive user interface.

lame. just downloaded this app and planning on deleting it right after this. it seems to do good things but not for free, the free version doesn’t save anything for you. basically if you want it buy the paid version

Roads. This app dose not have all roads, just main ones most county and state roads do not exist, this app is useless. I type in an address it goes to nearest town, with no roads. 🤷‍♂️

Good info. I like the idea but the map lacks detail… one of the reasons I don’t like Apple Maps. Wish it would interstate with Google maps. I find that Google maps has more detail not just major highways.

BS - Not Free and a waste of time. Downloaded and before I can even start they let you know that none of your entries or changes will be saved unless you purchase the “other app.” It’s a waste of time and a trap. I will buy another but not this one because it was initially misleading. Thanks but no thanks. DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME

It works really well and it’s good. After I bought the paid version, it works really well. The developer seems like he’s tired of hearing about how his free version doesn’t work.

Directions needed. I wish there were directions on how to use the app

Great but could be excellent. I drive a 'Meals on Wheels' route and it works pretty well. The best improvement they could make is to add a 'current position centered map' button so when I'm driving the route I would stay in the center as I drive, locked to north , and the route on the map would spin around my position. It's a bit hard to figure out how to use it, but so are 90% of specialized apps. This app has a lot of good features that reflects a lot of forethought and effort, but needs polish. Caution! Don't use the current version a/o Sep 16 iOS 9.1 has a bug loading it's maps from iCloud.

Road trip....??. Too awkward to use....not worth the bother Google maps easier by far

Can't save? What's the point.. Can't save a trip. What's the point if you just have to purchase the full version to save a trip.

Great. Imported waypoints from a big overseas trip. Easy to do, now a great reference for past journeys.

Crashes. Doesn’t save, not impressed, not worth the time

Mr BMW. Hopeless couldn't even gut it to load a map. Would not move off the my file page.

Limited places per file. This is ok if planning a small road trip because it doesn’t allow more than 50 places per file. Can’t add ‘missed’ locations if file has reached the 50 location limit so have to start again. Looking for an app that allows for a longer road trip.

Crashes. This app crashes when I import my road trip file, yet works fine on sample road trip file........ Disappointed

Almost useless. This app does less than google maps, total waste of space!

If you have Road Tip Planner for Mac. This a great complement to Road Trip Planner for Mac, you can carry all the info about all your trips in separate files, that you sync thru iTunes. Great to see all the planned trips info accessible on your iDevices. Check the Mac app store for the "Road Trip Planner”, if you do not have it already, a great App, that so easy to use and very complete, the only one I use. Thanks.

Motorcycle tripping.. Have used the app in 2017 for a massive motorcycle ride through 23 States and 5 provinces. It worked great. Doing a 3600km trip through BC right now with it. Ride hard, ride safe. Jack L

Misleading. This app won't save anything. It's meant to be used with another app that you have to purchase. You can't use it to plan a trip at all. Disappointed.

Thickness of Route Ribbon. Any chance you could decrease the route ribbon width, or maybe make it a little translucent so we could see the street names under it.

Comments. I have not downloaded the app yet but reading the comments from the developers responses is entertaining. Not very customer service friendly responsive.someone gave a good review but the app developer reply’s with instructions. I am gonna try this app but mainly because the app developer response is entertaining. Lol BTW the excuse that nothing can be done about how Apple maps work is not valid as you can as a developer use your own mapping tools you don’t have to piggy back off apples map app that is a choice. Just FYI Update: So trying out the app so far found many issues with it. Even though this is a basic free version it should give you the ideal how the app functions. As I am gonna try it first before buying the full version. When searching a spot it doesn’t actually go to where your search is just the general area. Also the search list shows a list of places that match the search which is good however it’s pointless if you can’t scroll down and look through that list. Other things wrong with it is it isn’t user friendly. I am a tech guy and know my way around an app. I can see how people will have issue using it. This is not the case to be blamed on Apple as this is your App and you control how well it functions 100% app developer. It also does not seem to have a feature to plan the trip in advance as I see no option to adjust the date

Hard to use. Nice features. However, the program's next to impossible to figure out. Poor helps. I have spent hours trying to lay out a trip and I am still not done. Save yourself $15 and a major headache, and get another program.

Super. Awesomeness

Terrible. App doesn’t work. Help is non existent unless you join a google group, but the email address to join does not show in the directions. Created a .GPX on my computer (round trip from Ks to MA, with hotel, dates info). Tried opening file in RTP, brought in 25000 POI pins, didn’t recognize my route, no hotel info. Very dissatisfied.

Great with OS version.. You can plan trips on your Mac, store them in iCloud Drive and then import them into the iOS devices.

MAC only?. Too bad. Your limiting yourself by writing MAC only software. Looks like a promising App.

It’s limited. It doesn’t know all zip codes when searching location by zip code only. And there is no option for crossing Houston except using the only toll road which is stupid, there are 100 ways to get across town without using that. Overall it’s a basic app

Frustrating. Trying to plan our summer vacation however due to current road conditions in the northern states this App / Apple maps will not let me plan a route. Waste of money if you want to plan a route in the northern part of the USA in winter - despite not actually traveling until the summer. Incredibly frustrating.

Unusable. This app looks like the perfect companion for a road trip. All you want to do is start a trio, add in your addresses and go. It seems to want you to plan your trip on the computer and then link it through iCloud? I think the purpose of an app is to be able to us it on the go. Maybe I'm missing something and I'm totally wrong but it shouldn't be this hard.
