Distiller - Liquor Reviews Comments & Reviews 2026

Look no further.. Ever have that problem at the liquor store where your buddy had just told you about a bottle you needed to try......and your mind goes blank, you’re overwhelmed with the selection, and end up buying something you already had in the cabinet at home? Track your liquor cabinet, wishlist, and provide recommendations to other people with your “top shelf” list. These are all the good things about this app aside from the thousands of FANTASTIC articles on every kind of spirit you can imagine.

Excellent with room for improvement. I love this app and can honestly say that it’s the best of its kind out there. There are so many amazing features like the listing, the barcode search feature, the rating system, and the sheer quality of the overall product. That being said, I’d love to see some basic improvements in a few places. For the lists, when you sort your list a certain way, say alphabetically, it would be really nice if it would then keep it that way the next time you pull up your list. A little annoying that it’s default organizing is the order in which you entered the bottle into the list. Same goes for being able to move around the order of the lists themselves. Just an aesthetic thing. It would also be really helpful if you could add the number of bottles from the same page as when you are adding the particular spirit to the list instead of it being a separate step. It would also be great to have an overall number of bottles listed for that list. The only way right now is to manually count, and sometimes the lists can get quite extensive, which can become tedious. These are small things, but I feel like they aren’t hard features to add, and they would streamline the user experience quite a bit. But overall, I do really enjoy the app.

Can no longer log in after update. This app used to be great. I don’t mind the updated UI. However, since the update, Sign in with Apple is completely broken. I get an error every time. I have not been able to access my lists in over a month. Very close to deleting the app. I’ve already contacted support and was told they were aware of the issue and working on a fix. Frustrating that something like this wasn’t thoroughly tested before releasing the update. And even more frustrating that this issue is taking so long to fix. I would think a known login issue would be prioritized and resolved quickly. Edit: Now going on THREE months with Sign in with Apple being broken. Have been unable to log in or access any of my data during this time. At this point, I’m assuming my data is most likely gone. Will be looking for a new app to replace Distiller. Extremely disappointing how quickly this app has gone downhill.

Inconsistent updated Info. When I started using the app it is was good. Near daily taste reviews and/or articles about various things. But that has changed. There are few articles and way less taste reviews loaded. Often there are a bunch loaded all at once following a no activity. The Friday roundup that had interesting content is now a new spirts list. Boring. The point is who ever was running this previously doesn’t appear to be doing so now, or is not paying attention. Just poor management. Best part about the app is the library of spirts for a quick search and the ability to maintain a personal whiskey list. Really love to see this app get back on track. It was really great before. 3 stars for how it’s been run 4 if it gets back on track

Awesome App, must have to track collections. I use this app all the time to track what bottles I have and to create wishlists like, must have to don’t buy again. For 5 stars I would like to see more barcodes on the library and some more robust “list” tools. The customer service is awesome, I have had to reach out a couple times and within a day not only do I get a response but also resolution

~> developers please consider the following <~. Best diary of reviews and “expert” reviews but needs to add a few things: 1. The “community” reviews should include a flavor notes graph like that of the “expert”, like rotten tomatoes the community reviews should be graded with the same metrics as the experts (comment section still separate). 2. Clean up the community uploaded reviews. What I mean is take down duplicate bottle listings and ensure that uploaded listings are correct (one I saw had a terrible cover photo and I couldn’t upload my own without making a new listing). 3. How do you invite your friends? If there isn’t a feature your missing out on a lot of potential users. *Edit: I just looked at a few experts and I’m a little confused with the qualifications to be an expert. I think this highlights even more that the rating system needs a little overhaul. This is just meant as constructive criticism, you don’t know me I could be a moron.

Great little app. Great little app for looking up spirits. I use it in conjunction with my Whizzky app! The app can be a bit finicky at times when you’re looking up something specific. It’s not as broadly encompassing the variety of spirits or rather not as easily to manipulate to get to what you want to see at times. For this reason, it’s not my go to for whiskey but it supplements my needs outside the whiskey category.

WAS a good app. It was a very good app. Didn’t quit do everything I was looking for but it was the best I had found and I was learning to work within its limits. All that changed with the recent update. Now they want to push you to the pro version. Functionality is being removed from the standard version seemingly to encourage the upgrade. No longer what I’m looking for and cannot recommend it. I have found a couple other apps that meet my needs. I will bite the bullet and re-enter my collection into the new apps. I could justify a one time price but the subscription cost of the pro version exceeds its value for the benefit it provides.

Keeps getting better!!!. I can't recommend this app enough! It continually improves, used to be only whiskey but now it's got a bunch of spirits-- including mezcal, which is rad. The ratings system is great and I love those flavor profile graphs. If you want to know what's up when sipping liquor or making cocktails, get distiller asap!!!

Excellent app for the spirits aficionado. I love this app. It does precisely what you ask of it, which is to identify and describe alcohols that you haven't had the time or interest to read a dissertation on. I use it to steer my choices when I feel like trying out a new whiskey and it rarely disappoints. I also love the way it allows you to catalogue and track what you have tried. I can't remember everything I've tried and when I tried it but as long as I take about 5 minutes to work out a few of my thoughts and add the drink to one of my lists, I know that my impression will always be there to be quickly recalled on my phone.

Save your money. The app is decent but I paid for a month subscription to see if I liked it and I still get pop ups asking me to join every time I use the barcode scanner. After the pop up goes away the app works OK but it’s a pain. Another issue is when manually searching for a product I have to add it to a list then go back and tell it how many I have. You can’t change the inventory at the same time. I may keep the app but will definitely cancel the subscription.

Utterly brilliant. I was immediately impressed with this app. I was expecting a simple method of cataloguing spirits I've tried, and got so much more. In-depth descriptions of countless brands, batches, years, etc. of several kinds of spirits. The professional reviews are descriptive and florid. I was particularly impressed by the recommendation feature. Select your type of spirit, price range, adventurousness, and more and it will give you several options to seek out and delight in. I will be using this app quite a bit in the future.

Great app supported by a passionate community. I’ve been using this app for three years now and love it. They do a great job providing consistent reviews - you may not always agree with their ‘professional’ ratings, but once you get to know how they characterize a spirit and what your tastes are then you can count on it for a solid point of reference. The best part are the peer reviews - this is a very active, knowledgeable community that is passionate about their spirits!

Distiller is great starting point. I enjoy using Distiller when tasting bourbon or seeing a bottle that I am not familiar with to gain some profile notes. Everyone’s pallet is different, so by reviewing tasting notes on a bourbon that I am familiar with I have found some app users that have similar likes to mine, which gives me another reference point before making a purchase.

Best app out there for spirits. I’ve been using Distiller for almost 2 years now and I have to say that it’s hands down the best app out there for info about spirits, whisky in particular, and a place to log all of your tasting notes. There is a real sense of community that takes place and the love for spirits really brings everyone together. The developers are very responsive to bug reports and are receptive to suggestions on how to make the app better. I am continually amazed that this remains a free app devoid of any kind of pop up or banner ads. Well done Distiller team!

Terrific for whisky lovers!. I only wish all apps were this user friendly and easy to use. Scan the label or type in search bar to discover the flavors and notes of a whisky before you buy it. Charts, reviews and lists (user created) make this a must have app for those who may be new or to the experienced. Plus the customer support is 1000%. I had a challenge with my new iPhone signing it and Matias was super helpful and patient. Easily 5 stars!!

A Very Useful App. I made my own log on the spirts I either tried or bought. Then I came across this app and it had everything I needed to make a better log for my needs. I am not giving it a 5 star rating because I couldn’t find a scotch and a bourbon I’ve bought. I’ve tried again in a time frame and still haven’t found them. It hasn’t stopped me from continuing using this app. Maybe in time they will be in here. If you’re looking for something to keep a log and rating on what you want to use for a future reference, then I would strongly recommend this app. Enjoy your spirts you’re having, but don’t let them enjoy you.

Good app, basic feature behind overpriced paywall. This functions as you’d expect, similar to Vivino and untappd but for spirits. What is lame is they expect $5 a month/$50 a year for features that the previously mentioned apps include for free. In what world would I pay $50 a year just to scan a barcode 🤦‍♂️I get servers cost money but seriously. $5/$10 one time fee, a few bucks a year maybe, but this current price structure just means I’m either going to be deleting this soon or just sticking to manual search.

Don’t Buy A Bottle Without It. Got this app years ago and have not bought a bottle without it since. New articles and lists are added frequently and have opened my eyes (and lips) to some unique bottles, I certainly would not have known about or purchased otherwise. Lots of users you can draw inspiration and ideas from on how to grow your collection.

Amazingly helpful!. Like many others, I’ve been using some of this stay-at-home time to start dabbling in spirits and cocktails. I found this app through the Distiller blog, and it has been amazingly helpful tome while searching for spirits to drink straight or make into cocktails. And the ever-growing Other category has been great, because I wanted a few flavorful, fun bottles but I didn’t want to waste money on anything that would sit around after one try. I’m never going to have a massive collection, but my hubby and I have been entertained with the drinks we’ve been having (and just one per night so we’ll have a long time to go through everything we want to try). Thanks, Distiller!

Great app - best feature is the taste profile. I've been using this app for a couple of years and it has become indispensable in understanding the beverage offerings in many parts of the world I've travelled, from France, to Japan to most recently, Tasmania. One or two suggestions: it would be great if you could adapt your profile graphic to an interactive function and to be able to adjust sliders to draw a profile in 'search' - for instance, search for a more smokey and spicy, less sweet whiskey - and get results that align with the profile I am looking for - it would be an amazing function. Similarly, if I am looking at a review, to go beyond the three recommendations, to be able to request a list of results reflecting 'more smokey' or 'more rich' (pardon the grammar) would be fantastic. But really, great app with a fantastic database of bevs.

Fantastic app. This is my only app to track my inventory, have my wish list, have notes on bourbon and other liquor tastes. It is very user friendly and lets you make the various lists you want. Everyone should have this app if you are interested have a great resource available.

Indispensable Resource!. I’ve used this app now for at least a year or two and could not be happier with it and the updates. I use it every time I go to the store to confirm what I’ve already researched and to browse related whiskies while I’m there. Literally every person (at least a dozen) I’ve told about it has come back to tell me how much they use it too. Great work!

Great but is always down - edit. Not happening anymore.. Edit: It hasn’t done this since I posted this. Maybe they were just doing lost of updates the week I downloaded. Upgrading to 5. —— I really love the app. It has everything I want. But the server is down probably 70% of the time I try to open it and I can’t search or rate anything.

v7.x = Dumbed down design FAIL!. The “reimagining” of Distiller v7.x is neither “better” nor “faster” as claimed in the release notes! The new design is AWFUL! They seem to have succumb to the bad advice of some digital guro, drank the digital kool-aid, embraced this obnoxious trend within website and app design, and wrongly concluded that consumers want oversized pictures and excessive white space! The size of pics and use of white space in the previous design was much preferable. Making more efficient use of vertical screen space, resulting in a nice balance between list efficiency and visual appeal. On the list view in the new design: the header, search field, “Add spirit” button, and bottom navigation bar … combined with their supporting white space … use 50% of the screen’s vertical real estate. 50%!?! That means the actual list can display NO MORE than two items in the available space. As other users have noted in their reviews, the helpful information that was offered in previous versions has been dumbed down to the point the app offers no value. The previous “Flavor profile” graph, which was very useful and intuitive, has been replaced with a useless heat mapped horizontal line.

Amazing app!! 10/10. This is the first review I’ve left for an app ever. I’ve really gotten into whisk(e)y collecting over the last year and this app has been the best tool to keep track of details, reviews, and my personal collection. I’m close to 250 bottles now and I use this app every day to track or share info or check reviews before I buy a new product. Being able to easily share my collection with friends has been great as well. I had thought of making some kind of home bar menu but this takes care of that and is updated in real time. The reason I decided to leave a review is actually because of the new update. New features are included that I’m excited for (like bottle quantity tracking for my secret cellar stash of Blanton’s and Henry McKenna). Although it all looked good there was actually an issue with refreshing lists and I sent an email asking about the problem. Customer support replied within hours explaining the issue and reporting on the fix. Awesome support! I really enjoy this app and it’s an amazing value in my opinion for what it offers in utility and fun. I would have paid significantly more for the capabilities that it has and the ones rolling out now. Great job Distiller!!!!

Beautiful App. My source for all things great in the wide, wide world of one of my favorite sports - drinking bourbon. I’m starting to dabble in serious reviews as my taste buds move from a one dimensional “tasty” to a more sophisticated hints of this and finishing with that. A great reference when staring down a bottle of something new and a handy resource to bolster my argument if my wife is close by.

A Guide to the liquor store. I was never a big drinker. A few years ago a friend invited me to a whisky tasting at his house. We had about eight different bottles and I had my first experience with a variety of quality whisky. I was hooked. However, every time I went to the liquor store I was overwhelmed by the selection with no general direction. Was this bottle worth $40? $60? What if I didn’t like it? I ended up not venturing much because of the confusion. Distiller allowed me to quickly check user and expert ratings to see if the bottle was worth the cost. Over a short period of time I was able to find quality whisky at reasonable prices. I found the flavors I prefer and the app allowed me to see flavor profiles for each whisky to determine if it was a style I enjoyed. I really liked the robust search features which allowed me to find the highest rated drinks in a particular price bracket. This feature allowed me to find the drinks that were good values. Lastly, Distiller allowed me to keep track which spirits I had tasted, liked, and/or owned. I’ve now used the app to find quality beverages throughout the Caribbean and visits to Colombia, Guatemala, and Mexico.

Super helpful in general. I’ve had a too many times where I’d be walking between aisles over and over looking for the best liquor/spirits to buy. Then when I found out this app existed, it’s been a game changer for me. I could literally look up information ahead of time to plan out my purchases. All the reviews by the critics and reviews by the people gives me a good take on what is really worth checking out and so forth. Thank you guys for all the great info and keep up the great work!

Great app if you like whiskey. I found out about new releases and also get great input from experienced tasters/bourbon afficionados before I buy the bottle which often influences my decisions to try new labels. I like to source basic info and look at the intricate flavor profiles and think this app only continues to improve and bring the whiskey community closer.

Used to be my favorite app. This was by far my favorite app, but recent changes have made it less user friendly. It used to open with big, attractive font for each whisky in your list. It was easy to scroll through to choose what you want, then just touch to get more info on that whisky. Now the list is less appealing, it takes a long time to load, it’s very slow to scroll through (and I have an iPhone 12 Pro), and you can’t set a default way to list (eg by rank). Worst of all you can’t touch the whisky to get more info. If you touch from the list it now goes to a small screen showing just that whisky, but then you have to fiddle around with rating icons at the bottom of the screen to bring up the expanded whisky info page. It also has an add banner at the top of that page as well. It used to be a sheer joy to use, but now it’s only average. Revert back Sox months and you have a winner.

Useful App. Being a newbie to bourbon whiskey drinking over the past few months, my initial tastings/purchases came via word of mouth. After finding out about the Distiller app, I’ve had a lot of fun while gaining a lot of knowledge through the app. Love the descriptions of the flavor profiles of my favorite brands - the graph is great! The expert reviews seem to be accurate for the most part, so finding different brands that boast my favorite flavor profiles immediately go on the Wish List - which is helpful when shopping. Another reviewer mentioned adding a way to search for brands utilizing the different aspects of these flavor profiles, which I agree with - this would be a great tool and a great time saver. But with that being said, a lot of the fun within the app is just browsing brands. All in all, this app is entertaining and educational. Here’s a big thumbs up - thanks.

Excellent app!. I use this app all the time, especially going through duty free. I never know whether or not the people in duty free actually know what they are talking about or whether they are just trying to offload stock on me. Usually when they approach me asking if I need help, I say no—because of Distiller! I trust the reviews and tasting notes. I also appreciate that in the app they don’t push you to write a review...which is much less irritating for users, hence I’m giving a 5 star review! Cheers :)

Whiskey-specific Review. Stuck with this app due to the fast load time, ease of use, and depth & breadth of whiskeys. Truly great, please keep doing what you’re doing. Expert Review section contain valuable information, especially the chart and the name of the taster (you’ll find tasters you agree with and those you don’t). Flavor profile and corresponding chart allows for fast comparisons between what you know you like and those you haven’t yet tasted. Lists are also useful, especially the ability to create your own lists. Update: “Pro” is one of the few app upgrades I’ve found worth the cost. Still a 5 star app.

Great app overall, with a few comments. I really like this app. However, i wish they would let you submit missing liquors to be added to the database. Also, it seems like the App's developers focus mainly on reviewing brands owned by the big conglomerates and ignore the good stuff out there by smaller, less hyped brands. It would also be cool if they added store private label liquors like found at Trader Joes, Costco, and Total Wine. Also, I wish they would’ve added a section for Liquers, Vermouths, Apertifs etc instead of Vodka. Seriously, how much can you say about the differences between 1,000 vodkas?

Fantastic resource!. Of the many bourbon apps available, Distiller is the most comprehensive AND user friendly I’ve found. The recent update just makes it that much better. I appreciate the range of staff and user comments/tasting notes, especially the former as I’ve been able to match my palate and preferences with theirs’ which makes a quick review that much more valuable.

Bad update. While I love the personal touch of real reviews by a team of real people, this new UI update makes this app less good. I get that it looks nicer and is easier to navigate but we lost granularity of information. The expert review used to have a graph of the flavor profile and showed many different flavors and how intense each was, now however, there is just a bar saying about 3 flavors. I used to use this all the time I was looking for new bourbons since it showed so much info but now it doesn’t show as much and I will probably use it less. For development/product team, please add back the more detailed graph! It was my favorite thing about this app.

New interface takes getting used to. I only started using Distiller about two weeks before the new redesign was released, and they had made a few changes I was not happy with. But they seem to be listening to the feedback and making things better. The flavor profile wave is back, which is great, because I can easily see from the shape of the wave if it’s something I’m going to like. Visually, the flavor tags graph is less useful, but I like the concept of the tags changing over time as more tags are added. I do see it as something that could be ripe for abuse, though hopefully the Distiller team will do a good job of moderating it. I’m still unable to login via Apple ID, but I was able to reset my password, so I use my email address to login instead. I like the website’s Recommend feature, and I hope that comes to the app soon. Also, can you add a search or index for the articles? I would like to be able to refer back to older articles without having to scroll to find them.

Great app - keeps crashing. When trying to establish an account with my Facebook account, the app crashed. Three times. When I tried to create a stand-alone account, first time, I didn’t get a confirmation email. Had to create an account a second time, and it worked. Then after adding one bourbon to my list, adding a second one consistently crashed the app. App shows promise and I’d love to use it. But unfortunately, it’s not ready for prime time. Needs some bugs worked out.

Better app before Pro added. The old version of the app from early-mid 2020 was far superior and more user-friendly. They decided to do the pro thing to get rich and now they've purposefully broken the free version to require more clicks to get to where you want to go. Opening to the personal notes page of a spirit instead off the actual information page is done to try to force you to get pro so you can put your own notes. My notes are in my tastes. I don't need a separate notes section and I certainly don't want that to open when I can't even enter any notes without upgrading. This app is going down the drain with the pro version being pushed at every opportunity within the app. This used to be 5/5 for my friends and I but we're bailing for the Flaviar app now. See ya.

Decent App. Distiller is a decent liquor/whiskey review app. It has improved significantly in the last couple of years and I have no reason to think it won’t continue to do so. My only negative opinion of the app is the “feed”. The feed is not the default view. Aside from that there’s just something about the format I don’t like. Maybe I’m just too much of a FB addict, that’s very possible. Whatever it is it has taken me some time to get used to the format and begin to appreciate it. It is a good source of information on spirits, with a large and fairly active community.

So promising but performance is a major issue.... I really want this to be a favorite app - the look and feel of this app is very user friendly and I have found every whiskey I have searched for so far. And I purchased the pro because I really want this to be the one and only app to I use to manage my wish lists and track my inventory. But it is no where near a trusted app yet. First, I don’t mind paying for pro - the heck with the deadbeat millennial reviewers who think everything in life should be free. But I should get some real value from the pro. There just isn’t enough perks yet to pro membership other than adding quantities and it was buggy even signing up for it. It took 2 days for the pro sign up page to work for me. Really? You do want my money right? Second, performance is terrible. Apparently there is no local storage, cache or any kind of background sync. That means even for checking my lists or updating quantities I have to wait seconds with a blank page and spinner for the page to load or refresh. Please improve performance of this app ASAP! This app has promise and I will continue to use it for now but I certainly won’t renew my pro membership unless performance improves and they add a few more perks for pro membership.

Okay platform...good for noobs I guess. I’m pretty sure the reviewers get their samples directly from the distillers or distributors. They rarely rank whiskies below an 80 and never say anything bad about them. I rarely ever get the feeling a review is truly independent. The rating system kinda dumb. If they set a ceiling (which they do at 100) they should make the floor (0) meaningful (which currently it isn’t as no booze gets even close). Also their price rankings is broken as five $s spans from ~$150 to tens of thousands). I do like their flavor profile graph though.

Almost perfect but lacks a couple improvements. This app lets you write your own reviews, read other people’s, and compile your own lists and share them with others. Lets you and your friends follow each other and see their reviews. It lets you sort your searches by price, ratings, global regions, etc. The problems I see are many of the spirits that come up in a search are from years ago and no longer available. In some instances that me be desirable but for most users they are really only wanting to look up stuff that is in current production. If they’re looking up Elijah Craig they probably want the current one not the 12 year. There needs to be a filter that isolates current production or at least only shows entries a few years old. Secondly, there are many new distilleries and their products are either not in there or they were entered by an app user. Distilleries should have the ability to enter their own products and photos, along with their own backstory and description of the product. They could also be prompted to include the source or state it was distilled in and the mashbill. Then later on Distiller could supplement the entry with a professionals rating and score.

Update doesn’t address major flaws. I was looking forward to the new UI of Distiller, but the latest update didn’t address some of the major issues I had with the app: #1 - the fact that you can’t *permanently* keep your lists sorted in a specific way. For example, if you wanted to sort a list in alphabetical order, leave and then come back - the list will have reverted back to the default order(date added). This drove me absolutely crazy in the previous version, and it is so frustrating to not see it addressed here. #2 - loading times. The older version took forever to load just about anything on the app. This has not been addressed, and even scrolling through your own lists have loading timeouts. That’s just unacceptable. #3 - the UI itself. There was a clear effort to make navigation easier in this version, but now the text and images are so big there’s barely any information on the screen at a time. It’s like using your iPhone with large text accessibility mode. And with no options to change this, it’s another star knocked off the review. To summarize: if you’re using Distiller to find reviews of specific products, you’ll probably find this app useful. But if you want a way to catalogue and rate your growing collection, then just create a spreadsheet. That’s what I’ll be doing, and not renewing my Distiller Pro subscription when my current one expires.

Almost There. This app is very very good. I am not a big spirit connoisseur however I love my bourbon. This app is able to keep track of what I like, don’t like, my collection, and what I want to try. The biggest issue is amount of drinks not on the site. I’ve even sent information to Distiller to add a bourbon drink and received a reply saying they will add. This was 12 weeks ago...still nothing listed. Once they update with all available drinks, it will be near perfect. Until then, I’ll keep looking for a better app or website.

Great app to track spirits. I really enjoy using this app to keep track of the different liquors I try. I like that I can keep public and private notes. It helps me purchase new liquors that are highly rated, and keep me from purchasing something I had before that I didn’t care for, but forgot about. I recommend this app.

Overall Great, Room for Improvement Though. I love this app overall. Suggestions for improvement: - Add an option to have a list or log of previous checkins so you don’t have to search the specific name to find it and see your checkin(s). - Make it less laggy. Takes a few seconds to be able to search every time I load the app. - Add more filters, for example regions for scotch or more specific price points based on your area. Whiskey very widely in previous (like other alcohol) and the price range filter is not very sensible as is. - Improve the “you may also like” lists to be more relevant. Often times they show completely different whiskey types than what I am even looking at. - Improve the social component to where you can see what people are buying near you and how they like it. That way you can feel a sense of community if you don’t have friends that use this app. - Be able to filter pro reviews by reviewer. As we all know taste is subjective, but it’s often difficult to sort by the pro ratings if they have only been reviewed by one “pro”/“expert.” Thus if you want to try something and see it has a low score, having multiple expert reviews (perhaps show the average expert score in the search window) and then have all the expert reviews viewable and collapsible once the whiskey or drink is pulled up.

Read It, Pick It & Drink It!. Delete! Delete! That’s what I did with the other Spirit apps on my phone. Distiller is by far the best for me. So now it’s the only one I use. I found that I was wasting time reading other apps. Distiller incorporates both the average connoisseur of adult beverages as well as the experts that we assume have a more distinguished pallet. I have found that whether it is a bourbon, a rum, or tequila I been happy with the choices I’ve made based upon the ratings and reviews. The articles, weekly roundup and top choices of the week are always interesting reads. You can never learn enough and I feel I’ve learned a lot from Distiller. Keep up the good work!

A Bartender’s Friend. I’ve worked all kinds of bar settings, from divey college bars with holes in the floor and roaches in the kitchen, to pristine fine dining establishments with high end craft cocktails. Coming up with different, exciting cocktails has always been something I’ve been into, so having a good grasp on what certain spirits embody before coming up with new cocktail menus is super important. Prior to this app, I’ve only ever seen one other that was truly helpful, but, I dare say, it was not as concise and focused as Distiller. My only qualm is that the price ranges aren’t very specific, but I know the cost of a lot of these bottles anyways, so it’s not that big of an inconvenience.

Excellent but could use some work.. The amount of product at the disposal of the user is absolutely insane!! Keeping up with new products around the world must be a small headache, in itself. The work part. The overall app itself just seems heavy, clunky and a little slow in operation. Is there anyway of addressing that at all??

Comprehensive with great expert reviews. Lists most whiskeys and I use the reviews to choose what I’m having for the month. Brilliant app!!

Need to create my own collections. Looks promising, DB is much improved, but I need to be able to create my own collections for me to use this eg my shelf, open bottles, tasted etc.

A must have for any scotch drinker. A fantastic companion for any scotch drinker at any level or experience. The taste chart is an awesome feature to help guide what you like with what you are looking to taste. Unfortunately some of the bar codes don’t work but this isn’t the apps fault. Great stuff and I’ll keep using it!! Making the maze of scotch drinking super simple. Cheers 🥃

DustyBarrel. Great read and coverage of spirits

Great resource. Great resource for this who want to know what they are buying.

Awesome app. A must have for the whisky lover...

Looks promising but crashes. After a few attempts to get into the app it looks really promising. However im unable to get more than about 10 seconds into it before crashing. Would love to try again once stable.

Great app. Good to see spirits other than just whiskey. Some minor improvements needed.. Hi guys Awesome app. Tried a few apps but they mainly focus on whiskey - I’ve come for the rum! Def would like to see a way of submitting missing products (suggest you guys filter/approve) to avoid the duplicate issue you mention. In the 30mins I’ve used the app I already have 5 products that that I can’t find (I’m in Australia). I’m using the iPad app. Nothing in My Feed even though I’ve rated a handful of products and added tasting notes etc. Bug or is Feed is for something else? Sort tasting notes by location or search by location would be handy so I can find products to taste locally (if this feature exists I haven’t found it yet). 5 star rating system isn’t granular enough. Either need to allow for 0.5 increments or 10 star like rumratings.com. Out of what I have rated so far I would like to set a 4.5 instead of a 5. Or a 3.5 instead of a 3 etc.

Great app. This is my go to app for spirits. I love browsing and reading all about the different whiskeys and it always helps me decide when making difficult decisions when purchasing whiskey. My only gripe is the app crashes occasionally, please fix this.

Missing so many options and refusing to add more. Great idea, and was looking forward to such opportunities but going to a distillery to do a tasting and found out that 90% of the gins weren’t available on the app with the app refusing to create new entry was a huge disappointment. Also having to add pictures of bottles, which you don’t have while doing taster, is just dumb. On top of that, this doesn’t even record unfavourable review (it’s the third time I’m sending my review and it doesn’t appear).

Fantastic app. Great app. I use it all the time when looking at purchasing spirits and looking for something new. The Friday weekly round up/ blog is a great read and informative on both new products along with useful background info such as how mezcal is made etc Well worth downloading

Great app....but. Content and presentation of the app is great. More recently I can’t connect via wifi. Says no internet connection. Switch to cellular and it works fine. Definitely no issues with the speed of my wifi as it’s running at around 40mbs. Please fix and this is a five star app.

Distiller. Distiller has been very informative, although, I don’t always Agree with the numerical ratings on some tasting notes, our palate is as distinct as our genes.” What’s one mans food is another man’s poison........” Slainte Hamish

Terrible app. This app is just one of the million apps trying to cash in (or just fame in) on the current whisk(e)y revival. This app offers nothing new or inventive, has an incredibly poor selection of whiskeys to choose from and is plagued by bugs. On top of this the user profile options are so limited that it's pretty much asking for people to download and app and create an account simply to boost the ego of the single writer of reviews. Just stick to a blog! Additional complains go to this "company" for completely ignoring emails sent to them and instead using my email for their own mailing list to which I never subscribed. I no doubt believe that this app will be quickly lost amongst the million others that offer the same whiskey reviews (although the other ones have better selection) and be completely forgotten before the end of the year.

Comprehensive and Accurate. Distiller contains and extremely wide range of spirits including scotch, gin, tequila and rum. Both the expert and user review are helpful, and for the most part I agree. Very useful app - I highly recommend it!

Pharaoh delight. Very informative, easy to navigate...keep up the good work 👏

Great App.. Best app for all is Whiskey! Superb to learn about the differences..

Helpful app. Truly insightful but I would like to see some adjustments like being able to enlarge displayed bottles and to change alcohol readings (proof/ABV). Keep up your excellent work and cheers/santé/乾杯! It’d also be great if we could do some story (not only review) searching about specific alcohol throughout your app. Don’t forget to add enlargement of displayed bottle to your next update. Thanks!

Love This App. Polished with an active community. I don't know how anyone can risk buying a bottle of whisky without first consulting Distiller.

Crashes non stop. Crashes continuously

Where are the old graphic. In this New Version the app works greatly but the old graphics disapear

Redesign is nice, loses info. Please bring back the full flavour profile graph and pricing metrics, they are sorely missed on the product info pages, as well as the comparison statements in the “you may also like” section. The redesign is nice overall, but without these it feels like it’s missing info.

Pretty Good. I like this app Bit slow to load, but good info and suggestions

Best whiskey app!. Really well designed! Helping decide of every purchase!

Great App. Use this to research Canadian whisky and to learn about others! Great app and easy to use

Missing graphs and scans. Need the old graphs again, and scanning a bar code was in free version. Not impressed with the update.

Deceptive. This app has no business being 100MB and this slow.

Great app, but crashes constantly. Great idea and nothing else exists like it, but it is very temperamental and is constantly crashing.

Was great. Keeps getting tweaked that now it is a pain to navigate through the lists. Really pushing you to purchase the pro, it’s not worth it based on this version. Content is also stale and the feed is not in chronological order.

Big improvement. Very impressed with the new version. Barcode scan is a big win and I might even start using the lists again.

Great!. I really recommend to anybody who enjoys spirits. Things to work on: - Add more reviews of agricole rums particularly those from Martinique. - Missing a lot of spirits from Canada. As of now those are the main points bothering me, otherwise great reviews, wonderful functionality, easy & intuitive interface and I LOVE the graphic of taste.

If you love whiskey, you’ll love this app. If you love whiskey, you’ll love this app

Great tool. This is a must use app when browsing the liquor store looking for that ‘must have bottle’. Allows you to quickly search, read reviews and compare. Let’s you keep track of your current collection as well as a “wishlist” for future purchases. A must have.

Cant make account. App looks great, my friend loves it. But every time I try to sign up with Facebook it crashes and every time i try to make an account by username is says "We weren't able to make your account." Ive reinstalled twice with same results.

Great App. Never leads you wrong. I love the taste profiles. Helps me pick similar products from other distilleries.

Limited Inventory. What it has is great. But, it is missing a large number of whiskeys (Canadians, bourbons and scotches) There does not appear to be any mechanism for users to add any.

Most Updated Whisky App!. There are dozens of whisky apps out there, most of which haven't been updated in years. This one is different! They update regularly, news articles are current, and whisky database is large. Recommended App. Would like to see some a community forum for its users to interact with each other, post classifieds, etc.

Great with the update. Awesome update. Have asked to be able to compare two bottles side by side which would be great for consumers. I typically use the app to tell me what tasting notes I’ll be getting in a dram

Broken in 14.2. Won’t open in 14.2 just hangs and crashes. Please fix ... otherwise this is a fantastic app.

No good. One word - garbage. Three words- it doesn't work

More them peats the eye. Options within options with the app. Only really starting to explore all it has to offer now - and I’m impressed. Like an untapped but for spirits... and this one is better organized.

Good stuff. Great tool to help enjoy and learn about whiskey. Also helpful to keep track of things over time...for those with less than perfect memory! I just wish I could find a similar app for coffee! (Hint hint, nudge, nudge).

Beautiful and buggy. Great idea and difficult execution. Interactions with links in this app causes frequent crashing. If you stick on a single page everything is great...but that's not the point of the app now is it. This would be in constant use if it didn't keep freezing and crashing.

Great App. Very helpful, huge selection of bottles reviewed to assist with purchasing new products never tried before.

Very Well Put Together. Really happy with the Distiller app as I explore whisky. It’s well organized and its pro and user reviews let me get an idea of a bottle before I commit. The lists feature is going to be really handy as I read and learn more about the craft and line up the next bottles to explore.

Great app. I always check this app before I buy a whisky, very informative and a great community that provides reviews.

Excellent. Facile d’utilisation excellent outil de préachat. A avoir avec soi lorsque vous entrez dans un magasin. Nous pouvons aussi partager des listes avec des amis. La fluidité avec l’application desktop est impressionnante.

Great resource. It’s really the best app of it’s kind -would love to try premium if it was offered to purchase thru the app -i’d throw some support your way in a heartbeat I’ve been waiting to see that in an update for years hopefully you can add that feature someday soon but cheers on making a great little app you can fire up when your enjoying a nice beverage and honestly having that info at my fingertips actually makes me enjoy trying different bottles a lot more so keep up the great work and hopefully you can make some tweaks to bring everyone an even better experience in the years to come -

Accurate and reliable. I’ve been able to find exactly what I’m looking for and what I shouldn’t even bother buying.

Crashes on load up. Was a good app until the update, now it just crashes.

Great App!!. Well designed, almost all whisky I was searching for was in the app with a review. A must have if you love scotch whisky!!

Booze Wizard. Great app to help you on your journey through Whisk(e)y. Slàite!

THE app for the spirits drinker. The most comprehensive, interesting, all around well made spirits app there is. I always browse the reviews (from the experts as well as the users) before buying a bottle. It is not only recommended, it is a total must.

Doesn't ship to Canada :(. Good app if you like whiskey. The UI could use some improvements. Sometimes it doesn't feel very organized. Also the devs need to allow the whiskey to be shipped to Canada. Partner up with the LCBO please!

What i wish to build came first. Was looking for something to help me improve my odyssey in Scotch and guide me. Was going to create it, but there it is. Layout is awesome, lots of product available and added daily(?) and expert reviews is boosting up the package. Tasting grid is just bonus :). Keep it up

Crashes after update. After update, iPad version will not open. Crashes after several seconds. iPhone version seems OK

Very useful but app has some issues. I’ve been looking for something like this to view reviews and keep track of my own impressions. It works for that, but somehow the app disables autocorrect, which makes writing anything a challenge. And popping up an ad for the pro version EVERY time you write a review is a bit much. That all but guarantees I’ll close the pop up automatically and never even think of upgrading.

My go to app. This is my “go to” app for scotch.

Best on line reviews. Tomatin Legacy Highland Single Malt reviews are best

Interesting. Informative, social with good reviews.

Old Version So Much Better. The old version of this app was stellar. It was much easier to navigate and didn’t prompt you to sign up for a pro membership before you can even get to your search. Wish I didn’t upgrade for a less superior app. Oh well, guess I’ll find a new one!

Fun app for research and community. Love the weekly articles, love the ease of use, love the community. It kind of like the .99 music purchase from the early days of digital downloads. You don’t have to spend a fortune before you commit to a bottle.

Costs extra to do everything.. Can’t even track simple notes against fav whiskeys without paying their fee. Sure it’s only 10 bucks but when they hit you with a fee for even basic functionality what’s the point of even having the app as there really is no basic functionality to use without paying. And their payment process isn’t even integrated with iOS app Store so it takes you outside the app for the purchase. Meh

Stop bugging me to create an account every time I use the app!. It’s been death by a thousand cuts, and now it’s annoying to have to dismiss a prompt every time bugging users to create an account. This app used to be the best app for looking up information on whisk(e)y. Over time, that user experience has gradually changed from one of delight to frustration and I’m on the verge of just deleting the app because of the inconveniences.

Great Tool To Find New Whiskies. If you’re looking for new whiskies, this is the place to start. Expert ratings, user ratings and the “if you enjoy this, then try these” suggestions. The only gripe is with people who grade one star because they don’t like scotch or bourbon to begin with or because the price was too high in their opinion.

Almost Wasted My Time. I develop Apps as a hobby. Had my version of Distiller already designed in my head. Luckily I did a quick check of the App Store and found this. It’s so much better than the version I was planning. I’m pretty picky and I have ZERO complaints about this App. I use it almost daily (I’m a little obsessed with my bourbon lately)!

Great app, informative and interactive. This is a great app for both researching before purchasing, insightful reviews and fun to add bottles to the “My Collection” list. I wish they would show the average price instead of just multiple dollar signs ($$$$) in the search results though.

Crashes a LOT lately. I really enjoy this app but lately ALL IT DOES is crash. It only seems to crash whenever I’m typing something in the search bar. It needs an updated or a bug squash so I can get back to regular activities. While I’m at this review, there’s a couple of suggestions I’d like to add. This app needs to be more like Untappd where you can see people’s pictures of there pours or bottles. It makes the experience more unique and personal. Just a suggestion.

Great app but needs updated reviews. This is great to not only learn about what your drinking but also keep tabs on your wish list and current stock at home. However we really need some updated Distiller score/reviews on some of these bottles, many are almost 10 years old.

Slow Search Functionality. Searching in this app is incredibly and frustratingly slow. I have also had many occurrences where a search results in 0 results, only to search again using the same string to find it works. Need to optimize your search algorithms. Otherwise, great app!

Overall a helpful app. Easy functionality, handy to have. Search function - particularly getting back to search without re-typing - could improve. Also duplicate and incorrect entries mean sometimes having to sift thru results to find the correct or most comprehensive search result.

Could be better. The app needs to remember your previous search. Every time you click the back arrow you will have to enter your search term again. If I type Wild Turkey and hit search, I should be able to look at every variety of Wild Turkey without having to type that in again. It’s a solid app otherwise.

Best app out there. It takes a few minutes to understand how to use it but it is certainly worth learning. I bought the ad free version and would do it again!

All things considered this is a great app!. Doesn’t get updated much and a few things are a challenge to use/find like getting to my tastes from a search screen but once you learn it is pretty easy to get around. Entering restaurant locations doesn’t always work but minor stuff.

Great Informative/Inventory App. I really enjoyed how easily accessible and digestible all do the info is within the Distiller App. My favorite feature is the list(s) function—my only recommendation is that a number field be added to the collection/top shelf sections so you can have a true representation if you have more than a single of any certain bottle.

Very helpful. Very helpful to use when looking at different spirits and trying to decide which one to try next. I also use it to see how my tastes Compare to others who have tried the same.

Redesign is leaking crucial information. 1st off this is a great app. However after the recent update I can no longer see the full flavor profile of different spirits in chart form as before. This should at least be an option. Plus the price indicator is gone. This is a case where less is not more (in my opinion).

Excellent Resource. Being new to whiskey drinking, I’ve found this to be an invaluable resource. To know what others think as well as experts makes choosing much easier. The expert reviews showing the different levels of flavors and spices is wonderful.

Awesome!. This is a wonderful app for not only whiskey enthusiasts but all spirit lovers. Comprehensive in expert reviews, cool distillery background info and one of my favorite parts... creating my own list and having the ability to write my own reviews. I own a whiskey bar in Clayton, NC hoping to some how integrate this app into our business and whiskey club. Well done, cheers!

Great App. This app is a wonderful tool in helping me keep track of my collection, and more importantly, learn more about whiskey and scotch. I am a novice collector and this app also helps me “educate my palate” and enjoy tasting all the more! Simple to navigate and educational to use.

It’s fun!. Whether you agree with the reviews or not, I find it very enjoyable to just get lost in what others write about the spirits, especially Bourbon. I’ve lost quite a bit of time and have found some new Bourbons to try. Thank you for giving this group a platform!

Distiller. Beautifully simple application that provides just what is to track your inventory and to manage lists of bourbon to buy and to not buy. Great at helping see what others are doing and to share your own tastes and purchases

Go To Reference Guide. Nice guide to spirits of all kinds. I use for whiskey and get a basic idea of taste before I buy. I like it because even with a rating system it gives a flavor profile that is even better as everyone has different tastes

Was good but not anymore. Just writing this review to update people. This app was good, it was filled with a lot of very specific information but they dumbed everything down and made it less useful and necessary. Not recommended now. The info about flavor profiles are now much worse. The info about specific bottles that change from year to year are all gone. This app go a huge downgrade.

Go to reference when whisky(ey) shopping or tasting. Just like the subject line says. Whiskey buying is not a cost friendly endeavor, but this app has helped me make sure that what I’m getting for my money will most likely be something I will really like.

Great tasting profiles!. I really appreciate the ratings and detailed tasting notes. The graphical tasting profile is the best! The graphs are a great way to visualize how a spirit may taste and compare to others under consideration. I use this app EVERY time I’m at the liquor store.

Perfect app for tracking your samples. This is an excellent app for any spirit enthusiast. The customizable lists make it easy to track your inventory and what you sampled so that you are not guessing on what to buy next. The database is very extensive, and the reviews are very helpful.

The recent update..... When you search for a keyword that generate a long list, you cannot scroll down until it loads all items in the list... (it keeps coming back to the top of the list)

Sketchy Development , Scanner Laughable. I love the info and understand not every single bottle would be included. However, I wanted to use the Scanner to inventory my 100+ collection. I went to 3 liquor stores yesterday, that scanner is NOT only bad, it barely at all even works !!! Maybe snapped 1 out of 25. It’s not a real feature. Non functional. One of the 1 or 2 I did get to work it gave me choices on what I scanned ! I had to hold the camera still for about 30 seconds to even scan the 1 or 2 items. The App is a fantastic idea, it just has to remotely work at times. It does not. Believe me, I wanted it to. Just someone chasing a dollar with idea over functionality. Epic Fail. Btw… this is the first app I have ever reviewed in 15+ years. That should speak Volumes.

One of my most used apps. If you are interested in spirits, and looking for what is out there, this is one of the best apps I’ve come across. Paid for the Pro Version after 1 year, and no regrets.

Useful and Simple. I had been tracking my collection and notes on my own but this app gives me a chance to share my collection and opinions with others and learn from them as well. Recommended.

The best. If you’re a fan of whiskey or other liquors I don’t think there’s a better app out there. I use it every time I want to buy something for my home bar and I keep my whole collection in it. I like the Pro version because I look bottles up by flavor and I keep track of my bottle counts.

The new update ruined the app. I loved this app until the new update, it made the app more “user friendly” but removed a lot of the features that made this app special. The new flavor profile system they have is just too simple, the graph they previously has was much better and provided more in depth info. The price point was also removed which is a huge bummer.

Great app before! Even better now!. I loved this app before the recent redesign, but it’s even better now! And it’s free! (Although personally, I think it’s worth paying the few bucks to go Pro.)

Bottle collecting made easy. I love that I can look up the tasting notes of many bottles of any spirit type, and it’s easy to add new ones. Having lists and filters make it easy to look through my bar

Consult before buying. Reading reviews elsewhere is helpful, but using this app is better. The way they graph the notes and vast library are the biggest help to me. I get a consistent consultation before each buy. Opinions of others don’t always not match up to your pallet.

Great- when it works. App is very informative and the ability to save whiskeys into lists is really nice. However, the app- while not exactly “crashing “- keeps logging me out during a session. So basically useless if you want to save anything.

Great concept but not very diverse. Looking through the whiskeys this app with show whiskey and when you select them for more info it then displays “no spirit found”. If you don’t have the spirit then why is there picture of it in your browsing section? And if the spirit is not found why does it show up in the search results when I type in the name? Doesn’t seem very robust in browsing and searching functions.

A must for anyone who love spirits. Hands down this app is life changing. I have used this app for a few years and have shared it with others and they feel the same. I love that you are able to get honest reviews on spirits and add them to your list help while hunting for rare finds.

Simple and effective. Easy way to get info on new drinks and this keeps your notes on what you have already tried. The fun part is drinking your way to the notes!

Great overall use. This app is great for new hobbyists looking for info and recommendation on spirits. It’s easy and fun to write tasting reviews and see other’s. Overall, the app is a little busy and difficult to navigate, but it becomes easier with a little practice.

Rate your booze. It’s not every app that makes you feel like your opinion matters, but distiller does just that. Rate and review your favorite adult beverages, and learn a thing or two about spirits you haven’t tried. It’s an enjoyable experience for those interested in the finer examples of distilled delights....

Very useful. I find this useful for not only keeping track of my collection, but also for sharing wishlists and getting recommendations. I wish you could add special items. For example I have regular Buffalo Trace and a Single Barrel store Pick. Would be nice to add custom items. Would also be nice to add notes like, have backup.

Very Informative!. Interested in expanding your beverage selection, maybe try something new but you really don’t know what you’re looking for? This app can help tremendously! After reviewing the tasting profile they provide I’ve been able to purchase my new beverage reasonably confident. Highly recommend.

Great!. This app is great! I think the best feature, at least my favorite feature, is being able to create lists, and being able to jot down tasting notes for everything I try. I would give this five out of five stars!

Great Content but Interface Query Lag. I love the spirit (no pun intended) of this app. Has really good content and a well crafted interface. One HUGE problem is the lag when searching and how it affects me when I am typing search criteria. Even does this on wi-fi. Maybe it is a bug but you gotta fix this to make it a quality app. If it had that I would give this 4 -5 stars.

Go back to old UI. While I appreciate how they fixed the speed issues, the new design and layout is terrible. I have used this app for years and years, I can barely navigate it with the UI overhaul. The tasting notes on each whiskey profile have been reduced, and everything on each page has been changed beyond recognition. Really bummed about the changes!

Saves me money. I like discovering new favorites. Prior to finding this app, I’d wound up getting stuck with more than a few expensive bottles of something that looked great but wound up being something that I’d never buy again. With this, I can look it up as I’m in the store and make an informed decision.

Fantastic app. This is my only app to track my inventory, have my wish list, have notes on bourbon and other liquor tastes. It is very user friendly and lets you make the various lists you want. Everyone should have this app if you are interested have a great resource available.
