Some advertised features not working properly. The app overall works but the cloud features (specifically One Drive) do not work. I have emailed the developer the error and hopefully will get some remedy to this, as I store my calibre library on one drive. Other than great app.

Excellent reader. Very versatile! Handles many formats very well. I was looking for a djvu reader when I came across Total reader and I’m glad I found it.

Great app!. I love this reader. Probably the best one I’ve tried. I just have two requests. One, please update it so that it supports split screen view. Two, have the ability to go straight to the next book after you are done reading the current one. Besides that this is a great app that supports a ton of documents in one reader!

Excellent djvu and cbz comic reader. Many of my e-books are in DJVU format - and I have many graphic novels - this app does an excellent job displaying both file types... thank you!

Notes. It would be better if it can take notes. Overall a great app.

Versatile. I needed a tool that would be able to read diverse formats. It seems that I found it.

Cannot Access My Books. This app is for reading books, and it has a “File Manager”, however, it does not see my books, cannot “Find” my books, nor can I “share” my books with this app. I went to the Support Website via AppStore and it is all in Russian! No English.

Doesn’t work as advertised. I am waiting for a refund because the app does not work like advertised, the prc file cannot be read for whatever reason and crashed the app after about five minutes trying to open it. The UI of the app is also terrible, when using it to read epub, the only thing that can be interact with is brightness, nothing else can be changed. Very disappointed, do not recommend.

Cannot connect to google drive. When I try to add Google drive as a new network storage Ovation location, I get an error “Sign in with Google temporarily disabled for this app”

It’s great....but cannot highlight the text.... I like overall the features that it is a good app for reading. However, I purchased the app after reading the product description, which assured that I can both bookmark & highlight the parts of a book. But I CANNOT find any where to highlight, which is a very basic function. Plz fix/add the feature that it is too big of glitch for a paid app.

Nice!. Allows me to read books from a variety of formats. easy to set up and allows the categorization of large collections. Excellent reader.

You cannot highlight text?!. Features state you can “highlight and copy text”, which is misleading b/c highlights only exist to copy text — then disappear once text is copied. Thus, no ability for a very basic feature, which is to highlight text for future reference. You also cannot add notes. Your only option is to bookmark the page. Waste of $$!

Great reader app. Great reader app compatible with multiple formats. And useful ability to alter the brightness and color of text/backgrounds.

iOS 12.4.1, iPhone SE - crashing after start. I have paid for Pro version. It was great app, holding hundreds books and being fast. Now, after last updates, it is buggy, crashing on start even if containing just one book. A shame. (And yes, I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling. No change.)

Fantastic reader! Does EVERYTHING!. This reader does every document you could want and has other great useful features such as a night reading screen, being able to change font size, type, bold....anything! I love it! Edit: Can't say anything more but that it's a fantastic app I love. I am starting to get tired of having to redo the review, though.

Not so useful!. It seems to not be in the list of apps to open the file with! Not able to access either the local file system or iCloud! Wasted my money.

Most Powerful eReading App I’ve Found!. As a gamer, comic book fan and avid reader, I’ve looked long and hard for a program that beautifully manages all the formats I use (PDF, ePUB, CBR, CBZ, and occasional others) and displays them in an easy to access fashion. TotalReader Pro is the whole package for me - it’s fast, easy, features chapters (which is very important for game books), and just works. As the app I have open most often I would heartily recommend this program for anyone looking for a program that’s smooth, versatile and a pleasure to use.

Best reader I found. Total Reader is simply the best reader I know. 1) It supports most popular book formats: fb2, ePub, txt, pdf, ... 2) It is flexible to provide screen formatting options for comfortable reading. I highly recommend it.

Needs an update.... The reader is good. Most of the built in Catalogs do not work which was one of the things that separated this app from others. There should at least be an option to hide or remove non-functional Catalogs.

My new favorite ereader. I love this app. Simple and easy to use. Opens tons of file types and works well with one drive.

Apple Corp ought to buy them. This is the app. Apple should have developed. There's no excuse for Apple to have a book app. that can't open all kinds of book files. Total reader Pro does just that. It opens every book file possible. Just excellent and well priced.

Glitchy and broken functionality after recent update. Filter functionality causes app to crash. App has become unstable and keeps crashing .I tried reaching out to support but no reply.

Used to be a great reader but out of date. It was a great ereader but has not been updated for 5 years. It has many problems on newer devices. It is sad. Hope the developers can pick it up and make it great again!

Getting Better. It took a while for me to get app to do what I want. With improvements to the app, especially DropBox interface, I’m finding myself using this app more. The fact it can handle both ePub and pdf formats well is the apps best feature.

Well done. All what yu need in one smart app, pay once and forget about looking for another reading program. I wish there was a save this page and save this image in long press action. It would be extremely useful to be able to share info without the need of selecting the text and reformating the message afterwards.

Great Tool. I have two readers for the many tech and history books I carry with me. Total Reader brings not just a platform for reading ebooks, but all types if ebooks that I run into. It was the application I stumbled on when I discovered a required ebook was available only in epub format. I later discovered that it would “read” nearly every ebook I had. This was invaluable for someone who likes to be able to listen to books as well as music when I’m on long road trips. If I were to delete all apps but a few this would would be one of the few to remain.

Can’t change/rename the book. Plz add the option to change the name of the book.

No highlight/notes = meh. Its a good app for its purpose: one app to read them all. It falls short due to lack of highlighting and notemaking, features that are essential. Reading academic papers without those abilities makes this app substandard. It boggles the mind how this was overlooked since the color, appearance and behavior options have been developed further than most reading apps. Pity. Would love it if the app would stop asking me to rate. After having dine so, it's unnerving. How many times do I have to? I'm taking back a star!

A little disappointed. I used the free version of this app and decided to pay for the full version but was a little disappointed by a few features. Occasionally the app would stop playing and I would have to restart the phone. Today however, the reader would just skip a page. This is sometimes have never experienced with this app. Hopefully something could be done.

Great app, but needs some love. Been using for a while, it’s pretty awesome covering all my needs...but getting worried there’s no love for it anymore...any word on updates? Don’t abandon this app, it’s too good and would be a shame.

Underrated ebook reader!. This app is undoubtedly underrated. Just consider for example the abundance of document formats it masters. Compare the popular ‘Marvin 3’ ebook reader app which only manages ePub & comics to Totalreader’s format handling ability. Who wins? This software is powerful and very friendly. I do have though, a good suggestion for the developer, if they want to attract more purchases: Give us the option of choosing other voices for the Text to Speech function. The one and only default voice you have supplied is not satisfactory, it is far too robotic sounding. Please give us the choice of at the very least; the IOS 11 selection of available free voices. Within this selection you can get a far more natural reading voice experience. Also, the punctuation pausing is superior. Well done to this software developer for a very useful app!

Great reader app!. I don't do a lot of reviews but I've now used TotalReader long enough - and like it enough - that I figured I should take the time to review it. In short: this app is the best reader app I've used, and I've tried heaps. There are plenty of config options and the ability to link to external catalogs is a must-have for me. To summarise: buy it...you won't regret it.

Good range of abilities. Loads pages of PDFs faster than Adobe Acrobat Reader when skimming. Excellent page tile view for skipping through a PDF without having to guess page numbers. Only problem with this function is that every time it is called up, it's at the start of the document rather than around the current page being viewed.

Great ePub reader, actually better than iBooks!. ...and with the latest update the change between day and night modes is almost instantaneous, awesome! After stanza died off a number of years ago I have been patiently waiting on a flexible ePub reader to take its place, and here it finally is. It can import all ePub files easily, you can slide your finger up and down the screen to increase/decrease darkness and now has Dropbox support. Worth every cent 😊

Solid reader - displays MOST file types. Reader has tons of options and good compatibility. Overall solid reader. Minor issues - won't read .Lit files, opens to the navigation window rather than the book you were reading, animations feel sluggish when flipping pages.

A Really Great Reader.... I've used half a dozen different readers and this one certainly ranks among the best. It has a nice selection of controls. It is easy to use and delivers great results. I'd definitely recommend this app.

One of the best ebook readers. I have been using this app for some time and is the main ebook reader i use. I like how you can organize books in directories which many others will not allow. Only issue was with last update where they removed the cloud services from he menu and moved it to settings but i figured it out, just took a bit of time. Even with minor things i simply like how this app works.

Bad update. You removed the capability to display bold font with the non bold font. It's crap. Downgrading it.

Best of best. The most amazing point is..... It support all kinds of Ebook formats!! Only the function of Network services does NOT work properly..... It just told me Fail and I even have no chance to change the setting again :()

No good. Since I updated iOS 8, it minimizes after a few minutes, can't use it. Contacted maker but, no answer.

Links do not work. None of the links work. Cannot download anything. I contacted the support. No response. $$$ wasted.

Feature removed after update. It was a very good app but recent update has ruined its usefulness with the removal of direct access to PC via SMB. Please add this feature back and I will raise to 5-star.

good but description is misleading. I bought this app because it says you can highlight text but there is no option for this. It does let me add bookmarks and organize my file into folders (but no tag functionality). 3 stars because this app does not do what it says it would and I paid money for it before I could actually try it.

Has become my most-used reading app. Dependable, versatile reader that handles a wider variety of formats than most, has a good selection of tools (rename, export, etc) and the interface is pleasing for extended reading (excellent flip page animation, gestures to change screen brightness, etc). Great. Great app. Does so much. Worth the money. My one issue with it so far is after loading up some comic books I find they load up significantly slower than other cbr-type files on other readers.

Forget everything else, this is the best. I needed a decent reader which I could simply upload my pdf and epub books, with my own directory structure to it and not using tupid internal collection concept. JUST PLAIN FOLDERS full of books from my computer. After testing nearly every app I must admit "TotalReader Pro" is the one that does exactly what I need. "tiReader" was also good but trust me "TotalReader Pro" is much faster with heavy 100MB+ books.

Tap zones are not working after update. After iOS 13.4.1 update, tap zones are not working anymore - tapping does nothing, or selects a piece of text. Please fix.

NO HIGHLIGHT TEXT OPTION. Despite what is listed in TotalReader’s special features there is no way to highlight text in an ePub. Also no way to underline text. It might be the best ereader if these two options were available, but as such Marvin is still king of ePubs. Also support is non existent. There is supposed to be support through the app but I’ve gotten no response. And there is no other way to contact DevelSoftware? Give your readers a way to underline or highlight text in ePubs and its 5 stars.

A Nice Reader for ePubs. I wanted something to allow me to read ePubs. This app will do that and support other formats as well. It has a text to speech feature but it has two very annoying characteristics. As the reader finishes one page, there is a pause before it starts reading the next one. If it is the middle of a sentence, there is a gap in the playback. The other quirk, that I find even more annoying, is when the text is spoken dialog. It reads the sentence and then says "right double quote" after the end of the sentence. It really breaks up the flow of the book. Since I want something on my iPhone that will read to me, this is one app that will do it. I resort to editing the ePub. I unzip the ePub and edit the chapters to remove all the right hand quotes. It takes me about 30 minutes to "prepare" a book. I hope they will fix this soon. If they do, I would rate it 5 stars.

Just great. The design is great and easy to use. It's just really nice to read and display your documents of any type. A well thought out and useful utility reader and document manager.

Great reader. Best choice to replace stanza so far since that is abandoned. Took one star off because I wish it would remember the book I'm reading always. Sometimes when opening the app it brings me back to a homepage where I then have to go back to navigating through to find my book again. It should have an option to choose to remain in your current book whenever the app is opened instead of having to cycle through hoops to get back to it. If this were amended it would be five stars. *edit September 15, 2015 Still no fix to opening straight to your last book and having to cycle through to get to it. Now it asked me twice in a row to rate it after I clicked later it hits me up again 2 seconds later asking again. Annoying and now 4 stars down to 2 stars.

Crapware. I wish that I didn’t have to leave this review but it’s impossible to locate the developer because the link in the iTunes store goes to a generic page and all links there (such as support or contact) lead to 404 errors. I had to get this app so I could read ebooks checked out of my local county library. There didn’t seem to be any choice of what reader to use. This reader is pitifully awful in so many respects but I’ll list a couple to keep this brief. The major problem is with bookmarks. You can book mark a page but when you open the book again, it opens on the first page. There is no way that I can find to jump to a bookmarked page. I had to swipe page after page to find my bookmark. The second problem is that when the app is relaunched, not only do you not go to your last bookmarked page, but you go to your library, meaning you have to open the book you were reading, then go flipping through pages to get to your bookmark. Okay, so that’s essential 1½ major problems. Apple needs to have some way to check to see if dev web pages are active.

Went from awesome to junk. Worked great on old iPhone. On iPhone X will not say open — crashes immediately. Tried reinstalling... Update: I am already on the iPhone XS Max. Still nothing. They are just MIA for over a year. Do not pay them.

Lacks useful tools. Deleted after comparing to several ePub readers for my iPhone 6. There is no highlighting, underlining, or making notes on selected text. There is no dictionary or lookup option for either. This app will read the ePub out loud in a boring robotic voice and you can control the speed of her reading. Horrible waste of $5.99. I compared several ePub readers including NeoSoarBook, Kybook, this one, and another. In the end went with NeoSoarBook fir normal reading and marking up/studying although it has some shortcomings but best overall and for speed reading I went with REVO. I WISH I COULD GET A REFUND ON THIS APP OR DEVELOPER WOULD ADD HIGHLIGHTING SEVERAL COLORS AND NOTE TAKING!!!!

Solid, useful app. I really enjoy this program. It needs to support multitask views and it needs to be able to sync reading locations. Other than those 2 items, it's terrific.

Total Reader Pro. Despite repeated attempts to contact the vendor, I am not able to resolve issues related to adding cloud storage (specifically OneDrive). Therefore, I’m not able to review performance, only the complete lack of user support. User support is at best, dismal.

Best reader available on iPhone.. This is, hands down, the best, most customizable, easiest to use reader out there. I've downloaded quite a few of these, and they all feel like they're made for an iPad, or on an actual computer. This is the only one I've found that actually works like it was made for the tiny screen of an iPhone.

Can you please update. I'm on an iPhone 6 this app keeps closing on me. The lite version worked for a day and then stopped being able to fully open. I bought the actual app but it's doing the same thing. I'm guessing it's because this hasn't been updated to the 6. I tried the app support but it's not very user friendly.

Please just let me read. I'm tired of getting constant prompts to "rate" or "review". Life is busy and I don't get to read as often as I would like. This is very distracting and annoying. I wrote a review earlier hoping that this would make the prompts stop. Well I picked a nickname that was already taken so it just erases my review. So what happened when I tried to go back to my book? Another prompt asking me to "rate" or "remind me later". Here goes another try.

Great app!. Almost perfect. I use this to organized 500+ documents and books. Great filing system. I wish I can tell quickly the number # of files in each folder and total folder.

Opens almost all file types, reads well. This has been a great app for my commute, reading books to me as I drive. It also has good compatibility with different file types. The adjustable settings are myriad and easy to manipulate. I would like to see .lit compatibility added.

Potential. Very nice app. Positives: Can open most file types for books and read aloud. Well for me, that's what I needed for my intended use. So I can take to the road and just set it to play or follow along. Negatives: I put up with it since this is the best one out there after weighing all possible options. Please fix or improve.... -ability to skip a page it gets annoying when I follow and slows me down. -read aloud having to start all over from the page when it stops for many reasons. Better if it can stop and play back at previous... - maybe highlight, note. My Suggestion... to ones who's intent is to get more reading done... just put up with it and request for improvements... most do anyways. But this is a keeper. Please just improve on this app. Could be one of the best. Thanks...

One of the Best Reading Apps. I love this app. It does everything I want a reading app to do and it does it easily and simply. In the past some of the mobi files I downloaded opened with weird symbols in place of some of the letters, but I just tested a book that I had had problems with in the past, in the updated version, and it worked fine, so hopefully that problem is fixed. I was concerned when I read another review that said the update had gotten rid of cloud services because I use that to download and save books all the time. When I first looked at the updated app they did appear to be missing, but under network storage there is a way to link various cloud services, so I was able to easily add Dropbox and Google Drive to my account and they work just like they always did, so no complaints about this app. The only small things I'd like to see added is in addition to pages in book I'd also like to see what percentage of the book is left -- not a big deal, but something I'm used to in other apps and it doesn't appear to support highlighting, which would be very useful to have (I'm surprised how many reading apps don't have highlighting -- I like to highlight interesting points when I read non-fiction books). Other than that it's perfect.

Excellent.... I like this app...I wish I could highlight and add notes to djvu files. These features are necessary for many students and researchers, because there are too many professional apps for pdf files but almost none for djvu and epub files.

Junk! Fails to load pages. I bought the pro version, but after a couple of pages, it just stops loading. You have to close the app and reopen. I want a refund!

I love this app. I would like to thank the developer for fine tuning the text to speech. The pause between sentences is just right now. I used it all day the day of the update and plan to use it a whole lot more.

No fuss simple reader that works for me.. Spent a short while experimenting with the settings, but now that I have it set up,it's my reader of choice. Best features: Simple thumb flick up to move to next page; easily customizable layout - I prefer two columns on my iPad so I don't have to scan too far across the page with my eyes; keeps current page you are on with no fuss - simply go to recently opened menu to return; simple tap to bring up options menu (and also shows current pg you are on, although personally I would like to see the page number always shown while I read, like a paper book, but good enough); touch and hold a word you don't know to bring up a define option. I use that all the time. I recommend the reader. I have no affiliation with the developers.
