Please help!. Firstly, I LOVE this app! Thank you for making it possible for me to revisit old classic books and find new ones through your app. Lately, though, it’s been such a chore to open the app and continue with a book. If I don’t happen to finish a chapter before closing the app, it will take me back to the beginning of the chapter when I’m ready to start listening again. It’s very difficult sometimes to fast forward and find my place! This is a relatively new problem (over the last month, I’d say). Is there anyway to fix this? Is there a setting I inadvertently turned on? Thank you for a timely answer! I WILL change my rating to 5 stars when this is fixed!!

Unbelievably awesome. I have used LibriVox for the past three years and am always consistently blown away by the skill of some of these amateur readers. I also have Audible, and with both combined I feel like there is always something interesting and new to experience. LibriVox's best feature is the wide, free use of public domain writings. The search for good readers is rewarding, albeit different than Audible. The difference is that with LibriVox it doesn't cost me a cent. Excellent. The mobile app is very straightforward, and in a way offers even more options than my subscription, in particular the playback speeds.

Great app. I love this app. I've listened to several classics already w a long list to go. It's easy, available to down load and remove chapters when completed. I even like it when the narrator changes out during the story. It's like the story teller of an epic adventure might switch out over days. In days past when folks gathered for a sessional fest the would be many bards over a weeklong gathering. I use LibriVox often and tell others about it. Thanks!

Ads???. This is an excellent app and has been for many years. But now I am disappointed to hear ads at the end of some chapters. This is very, VERY annoying. I once could listen to an entire book chapter to chapter without interruption; now I must be ready to hit pause after each chapter in case an irritating ad starts playing. Please get rid of this! It is most unwelcome and if I had another free audiobooks app, I would use it instead of LibriVox.

For Readers and Writers All. If it were possible to have a love affair with an app, this would be the one. A veritable cornucopia of great works old and new. Invaluable resource for students old-young, for nearly every great work created before 1900, as well as a respectable number of 20th century works, is available for free. Volunteers have donated endless hours to create these audiobooks, many of them 100% free (thousands of more available for sale at excellent prices). If you've not tried Librivox, maybe it's time.👍👍

So far, so good. I have recently looked through the collection LibriVox has, and I have been surprised and delighted. The classics and philosophic works that could cost as much as forty dollars each as an audiobook were on my phone in mere moments. The quality of the works I have listened to is excellent, the continuity of volunteers and rhythm is fantastic for staying in the story. I believe librivox to be invaluable to those of us who have greater curiosity than funds, and I appreciate their efforts.

Fabulous!. I discovered LibriVox years ago and listened to many books on my PC. Soon after I got my first iPhone, I downloaded the app. I recently joined Audible, and then I truly realized what a great deal LibriVox is. I love classic novels and LibriVox has loads of them. The recent addition of the occasional commercial does not bother me. Those kind advertisers are paying the bills so I can get my book fix! If you have not yet tried LibriVox, give it a listen. You will be glad you did.

Great service, awful app. LibriVox is phenomenal, and the readers do well. This review is specifically for the app. After entering a story, the app glitches and moves all content far to one side, so you cannot go back and look at chapter names, lengths, etc. without closing and re-opening. As of recently, the app stops playing when screen is off or app is moved to background. The vocal ads are deeply grating. The app just does not function well, to the point where it seriously disrupts the books themselves.

Love it Savannah. It’s amazing 😉 I mean I can read all my favorite books on audio plus they are all free the readers are AMAZING and there are no glitches for me it only takes about a minute to download your books 📚 I use it daily and it is something I will never forget about I went throw so many free trials and they where not even good books but I wanted something free so I cancelled all my trial and got this with amazing books for FREE get this app !!!!

Outstanding and an Angry Cat. This app and its catalog deserves all the kudos it can get. The search functions are dynamic and accurate, the selection of books is mind-bogglingly large. And it only costs $2.50 to remove ads forever. All of the narrators have been quite good… superb even, given this is a labor of love. If I were to change anything it would be adding a night feature (turn the screen dark) and, well, completely changing the app’s icon… right now it looks like an angry cat in a Little Pony cartoon. But such things, like cats, are subjective.

Incredible resource for auditory learners. This app has so many great books! I like that you can download titles for offline listening and adjust the playback speed. (I slow it down a bit to aid comprehension.) Also, the ad-free version is under $3/year, which is a pretty sweet deal if you dislike looking at ads as much as I do. This is one of the only online reviews I have ever written, so you can be sure I like the app a lot :)

Solid. Large library. Most of the recordings sound fine to me, and the organization of the app is impressive for a free download. Really, the only detraction for me is the ads, but they have to make money somehow.. That being said, they are relatively minimal and once you get your book going, its not bad at all. I am a person that will instantly uninstall if the ads are overwhelming and give a 1 star, so that should tell you my thought on the matter. Ill put a book on at work and maybe hear 1-2 ads per 8 hour shift. Will definitely be paying for the premium version, but not because I feel like I need to to enjoy the app. More because Libravox is a breath of fresh air, and I want to support.

LIBRIVOX IS A GREAT HELP FOR THE WEARY SOUL. LIBRIVOX IS A GREAT HELP FOR THE WEARY SOUL i ❤️LIBRIVOX. i live alone instead of listening to music 🎵 or watching 📺 i listen to the classics which makes me sound smart. my local library 📚 is 20 miles away. i have lost my ...account & to download audible or other books 📚 📖 on tape on line is free for a month or two then audible starts sucking money 💵 💴 💰 out of your credit cards so THANK YOU 🙏 LIBRIVOX. i want to start 📖 recording for you guys. it’s a great service you’re rendering to the public THANKS 🙏 😊 THANK YOU ☺️ LIBRIVOX ❤️

Absolutely amazing. I LOVE this app! It’s awesome! It has SO many classic books and all for free! And from a ton of really GREAT readers to! Classic books are my favorite but they’re so hard to find now-a-days. And with this I can listen to them anytime anywhere! It’s awesome. And there are books by my favorite authors that o didn’t even know existed! For example did you know that the author of little woman (Louisa may Alcott) wrote a TON more amazing books! I totally recommend this app and make sure to listen to Louisa May Alcotts forgotten classics!

Great App horrible advertising. The app is pretty good. There are issues with playback occasionally. Sometimes it just won’t resume. That’s not my biggest issue. My biggest issue is that they have chosen highly political and controversial advertising. For example, while my children and I were listening to book about a saint, it was interrupted to explain how the abortion giants Planned Parenthood are expanding their ability to murder the unborn. They are alienating a huge portion of their users in that regard. It’s unfortunate. I will resume using and promoting the app when they stop promoting the murder of the unborn.

Great!. I love this app because there is so much variety and it's all free. I love that it picks up where I left off and I can get there with one click of the resume button. I have only had 1 book out of the dozen I've downloaded that had ads and they were very short and in between chapters so it didn't bother the flow of the book. The content is so diverse. I am part of a smaller Christian denomination but they have multiple books written by pioneers of my church. Truly amazing. Keep up the good work.

Blessing. Libravox has become such a blessing to my life. I listen to it while I make supper in the evenings, or when I’m getting ready in the morning or anytime I’m doing something with my hands but not my brain. I listen to spiritually uplifting books or to interesting and informative stories. I love reading, but I have almost no time in my life to read. Now I can still listen to stories even though I don’t have time to read. I absolutely love libravox.

Inconsistent. Sometimes this app works really great and then other times it doesn’t work. Last time I was listening to a book, it let me play it in the background, but as I tried to resume it, it was wouldn’t play it unless I kept the app open. And sometimes it shows up as downloaded but won’t play. I’ve even tried uninstalling the app or removing and adding the files to my library again. It works great and then just doesn’t for some reason.

Great listening option. If you want to listen to great literature from the past and don’t have the time to read, this is a wonderful application. You can pull up documents of historical and religious significance. You can listen while they are read to you and you were able to do another activity while you’re listening. I have especially enjoyed listening to William Bradford‘s record of Plymouth colony. I highly recommend it. You have no idea of the myriad obstacles the Pilgrims overcame until you’ve listened to it.

Commercials. I absolutely love this app! I have arthritis, very bad, in my phone, so I need to use audiobooks. I do, however, have one huge complaint! I set a timer, so that I can slip off, to sleep, each night. I understand the need to advertise, and have seen many, included with the pictures of books. I don’t mind that at all! But now I find, that as I drop off to sleep, a VERY loud and intrusive, pop up, and wake me. So instead of using this app every night, I must use a library audiobook. Very disappointing!

Regular librivox user. I’m rating this based on the app itself. It’s glitchy and weird. I wish it was more intuitive and useful for saving books. It often loses where I’m at in a book and I often have to go fish for the same book over and over again. That said- this is a service I did not pay for, listening to books I did not pay for. I’m very thankful for all the volunteers and donors who made it possible, even if it’s a pain sometimes ;)

Wonderful App but…. The app no longer remembers my place on a track and that if I close the app midway through the track, when I open back the app to listen to the track it will begin the track from the very beginning. This is very frustrating and inconvenient as I have to manually find where I left off every time. I have tried signing out and signing back in, but the glitch persists. Please fix this issue as soon as possible

Amazing!. I’ve been using the app and I think it’s great so far it’s basically just audiobooks there’s not pictures it doesn’t even show the words you just listen but I think it’s great it’s basically just audiobooks except it’s free so if we do go on a road trip or something and we want an audiobook this is better cause it’s free but I don’t like about it how you can’t change the voice but amazing 5 stars I just wish we could change the voice amazing app 10/10 recommend!

5-Star content, one annoying problem. This review is for the app (LibriVox is one of the best things on the modern internet). Playback and downloading works well. Search algorithm finds what you want most of the time (though having separate entries for different readings of the same book makes things more complicated than they need to be). The only serious problem is ads. Not that they exist. They’re infrequent and generally tasteful. It’s the VOLUME. The ads don’t seem to be scaled to the same volume as the books. Rather, whenever an ad plays there’s a large spike in volume and I’m inevitably startled if I’m wearing headphones. It’s particularly troublesome if you’re listening to a book to help you sleep.

Love. I used & loved this app for years. After not having an apple device for a while I just rediscovered it and I’m so excited (I think you can use it through their website as well though). It’s easier than overdrive because I don’t have to worry about having a time limit and I think it’s a bit more user friendly too. Also great selection for free, especially as I love the classic authors and have found some really unique and educational stuff too. Five stars all the way.

Great app, needs improvement.. When I play a book, it tends to stall after it finishes a chapter, so that I have to stop whatever I'm doing, go into the app and push the play button on the next chapter. Even then, it tends to be extremely slow starting, and I have to sit there with screen on til it starts, cuz if I just turn the screen off, the next chapter won't start. I know it's not my internet speed either, nothing else is slow!

Happy to find this app. We love LibriVox for long car rides. We've been happy with the number of titles from which we can choose, and appreciate that we can hear literary classics we may never have read--nor would have the time to read now. The voice quality varies, but we do get used to the accent, if the reader has one. And only once have we refused to listen to a story because of the reader. We love having an app because we can download ahead of time to avoid using data while on the road.

Totally enjoying this app.. I am truly enjoying this app. For the past week I’ve been downloading books and listening to them when I go to bed. I honestly believe I am sleeping better since I started this. Perhaps it’s because our mother used to read to us before we went to sleep at night. As a child it made me feel safe and content. Whatever it is I am thankful that my sister told me about her experience with audiobooks which peeked my curiosity enough that I went looking for apps and found this one. Thank you.

Political ads??. I loved this app, but I’m super disappointed in the political ad I heard on it yesterday dealing with abortion that blatantly LIES saying it’s harder than ever to get an abortion and asking for donations to fund abortions. ??? Whatever organization that is is just playing off the recent news and I assume LibriVox is just raking in the cash from that organization to play their ad. Hopefully ppl will actually educate themselves on what’s really going on politically and not buy into ads that lie like that to get donations to fund abortions, of all things. If you want to donate to a politically relevant real cause that actually HELPS ppl, donate to Ukraine’s relief causes. Hmm, why haven’t I heard any ads about that on LibriVox??

Fantastic Service!. I love the service that this provides. What a great product, delivering public domain works of literature for free! Thank you to all of the volunteers who make this possible. I want to make one suggestion for the app though, and that is that the playback doesn’t show up on my lock screen. I need to unlock the phone and open the app to pause it. It would be nice if it could show on the lock screen like all of my other audio apps.

Fantastic app. I love this app and all the volunteers who make it so valuable. There are so many great books on here and many of the volunteer readers do a fantastic job even doing different voices for each of the books characters. Because I work for at least 10 hours a day mostly driving heavy equipment I have lots of time to listen to something but precious little time to read even though I love books. This app has made it possible for me to enjoy literature without sacrificing family time and other after work activities.

Great collection with awesome readings. I really love how this app has grown since I first started using it. I have a love for Germanic folklore especially core mythology books like the Eddas and the Sagas. When I first started using this app they had literally two audio books on Norse and Germanic myth. One was awesome, the other...not so much. But now there are quite a few more including readings of both Eddas as well as a few sagas and some are in more than one language. The readings are well done and easy to understand. I am super impressed with the progress of this project so far and I look forward to seeing how it continues to grow.

Great free alternative 👍. I have used this app for a very long time and it is by far my favorite app ever. Now it is not the best audio book app ever, but it is free. There are small not too frequent ads and some of the voices aren’t the best. But most of the voices are amazing ( my favorite is Annie Coleman) and that ads aren’t terribly long or anything. This app is great for falling asleep, driving, or doing some boring or long task. Also if you are in school and have to read a book for homework this app is great for that.

Don’t bother paying to remove ads.... These public domain books are read by readers with vastly varying skills. Most of what I’ve heard is pretty amateurish, but there are some very good contributions. The jewel in crown, of course, is that the service makes so many great books available to audio readers. You just have to do a bit of searching to find a combination of good book/good reader. The app is moderately intuitive and a bit glitchy. Most disconcerting of all, though, is that payment to remove ads does...nothing. The ads are annoying, at best, and there seems no way to really communicate effectively with the apps designer. Ultimately, though, I’m an avid listener of books, and this gives me another tool in my audio book tool box.

Great project. This is a fantastic project. Invaluable. The audio advertisements are new and are jarring. I don't mind the visual advertisements because I understand that projects benefit from having money. But the audio ones seem out of place. I'm listening to some amazing piece from hundreds of years ago and then I get blasted with some loud commercial. It's really worth it to consider changing this.

Very Good Book Selection & Easy to Use App. I’ve been using the LibriVox App to listen to various books for a few months now. One of the things I appreciate is the wide variety of books about historical events and or people. One of the things that I like is that once I find a subject that I like, I can then search for other books that are similar. Which is much much better than the App forcing me to look at books that the App thinks I might like. Thank You for this App.

A blessing in disguise. Every single article, book, script, translated and read for every person seeking to know more, want more - who wants to awaken and remember all the information that we forgotten. All for free - use it use it use it !!!! it's here for you as it is for me - I hope this review attracts your attention enough to waken the explorer in you and listen to all this free information over and over until it empowers you and takes you to the top ! I will see you all there !

Great app but new reading speed controls bad. LibriVox used to be the perfect app for free audiobooks, and as a English graduate student, I still use it daily for reading. However, I’m greatly disappointed by the new app update, specifically the changes to the speed settings. You used to be able to change the speed and see how fast you were setting it, but now it’s just a sliding scale with no numbers. The old version also allowed you to go much faster than x2 speed, which honestly is necessary with some of the slower readers (I think the old version went to x2.5 or x3 speed). If they could improve the speed controls I’m sure I’m not the only one who would greatly appreciate it!

Great app, ads are too loud. This app is very useful I have enjoyed hours of stories for a while. Many aspects of the app I enjoy but recently they added recorded advertisements which I think harms this app. They are really loud and jarring. I often listen to stories to sleep but the ads are unpredictable and at a different volume than the stories and invariably startle me. I really hope they change this aspect. It has been a really harmful update to this app and makes it less pleasant to use.

This application has enabled me to listen to many books I never would have experienced.. This is one of my favorite applications if not my favorite. It has enabled me to gain access and enjoy many pieces of literature that I wouldn’t have been able to without this application. It has filled many daily and often mundane tasks with inspiring words.

Librivox is excellent!. I have consistently enjoyed Librivox’s titles that they offer, which are heavily sourced from books in the public domain. I tend to gravitate towards a smaller genre of theological writings which are available, (i.e., Teresa of Avila, G.K. Chesterton, etc) and even though at first listen some of those works may sound like a ‘dry’ recording…sometimes it actually pairs well with using the audiobook from a studying/learning standpoint. All in all, the free version of the app excels at what it is meant to do and I am eager to record one or two books myself in the near future to add to the excellent collection that is there now from dedicated volunteers.

I’m reading books I always meant to read. I’m enjoying reading Dickens and other 9th century authors. Some of the single readers are excellent. I’m not enjoying the volunteers as much because their reading is sometimes excellent and sometimes not and I find the transitions between readers more difficult to deal with than the ads. Especially when it shifts from a good reader to one not so good.

Excellent Resource - Great App. I’m a homeschooling mom of two high schoolers. While I enjoy reading, I sometimes find it difficult to be prepared to discuss the many books they are using in their literature based humanities classes. I use this LibriVox app to keep up with their assigned reading and for my own enjoyment, too! The app works smoothly. It is easy to navigate. I use the sleep-timer often. THANK YOU to the dedicated volunteers who make this marvelous FREE LibriVox app possible.

A Polished Gem. Of all the “ebook” apps that are popping up like lilies in May, Librivox stands alone as a highly-polished gem! Although it has only books in the Public Domain, it is free, it has dedicated volunteers who read the book as you listen, and these volunteers—for the most part—are as professional as the readers on the paid apps. Imagine the magic of an Englishman—or woman—reading a Shakespearean sonnet as you walk on a country road! This app is worth every iota of my five-star rating! RR

Great Books & Readers!. Great readers especially since they’re all volunteers. Many sound extremely professional. Once in a while you will get a reader that’s not that good but for the most part I really enjoy listening. I’ve been using this app since it’s conception. I was really impressed with the selection of books, almost all the classics. Plus I found myself listening to authors/books that I didn’t even know existed. I suggest when you get a reader that you enjoy their voice and do a search for the reader’s name and you’re probably get some great suggestions for your next book. I love Elizabeth Klett and Karen Savage. They tend to read the classics. If you’re wanting something sweet with a happy ending I suggest “ The emancipation of aunt Crete”. If you need a few laughs you might want to start with “ My man Jeeves”. You can search for a book via the author, the genre or the reader. And you can save favorites and even download them. It’s only like $2.50 for no advertisement.I always get that because it helps cover the cost so they can make these free audiobooks. However that being said a few books I listened to had commercials in between the chapters. That is really frustrating!!! I don’t want to make a big deal about it because I haven’t ran across it that much. But I would like to know why that happens???

Ive used librivox for the last 3 years.. I put my earbuds in while I work and listen to all kinds of fascinating dramas. The old Time radio dramas are my favorite. I love history and I feel like I’m stepping back in Time. I especially love hearing the old time ads. Those are adds that I’m actually not disgusted with. If you all can make the suspicion show complete, I’d really appreciate it. Great job. Great app.

Still Handy, but Disappointing. I’ve used Librivox for a number of years, through undergrad and grad school, and have found it tremendously helpful as an English major. The voices help liven up the texts and make difficult works much easier to follow. More recently, however, I’ve been disappointed by the addition of advertisements at the end of chapters and such. While they could be much more intrusive, it’s still a disruption to the experience and overall nuisance. Luckily, you can work around them by tapping on the next chapter, but having to do so feels unnecessary. I wish they would have just stuck to having a small visual ad at the bottom of the page. A small matter, which most people probably don’t care about, but enough to make me go to other audio reading providers sometimes. That said, Librivox is still my go-to reader, and it is very helpful overall.

The journey of Alva Nunez Cabeza de Vaca translated from his own narrative by Fanny bandelier. As a recovering stroke victim, my hope is to recuperate mostly up to 100%. From giving lectures about history/archaeology anthropology to not being able to remember how to tie my own shoes. The hope is to regain my multi tasking and articulation of my speech. Also to regain mental focus in comprehending what I read. This audio along with a hard copy of the book perhaps I will be able to recover faster. This review is definitely a positive tool.

Great!!. I absolutely love this app! It is simple to use and really nice for when you love reading but have too many things to do to just sit down and read. The one hiccup I’ve experienced is that I keep getting the notification that I need to connect to the internet in order to listen...but I’m already connected. So it’s kind of frustrating at times. But other than that, this app is flawless! Even with the problem, it is definitely one of my favorites!

Wonderful app but current update is problematic. I absolutely love this app, its selection of books, and its readers. However, the current update is a serious problem. The new version replaces the progress line for moving through a book with waveforms. It takes a very long time to go back or forward more than a few minutes. I listen to books when I go to sleep, and the book often continues to play for some time after I have fallen asleep. With the old version, it was easy to go back 15, 20 minutes or more, to pick up from where I fell asleep. The new version makes this a tedious process. please restore the progress line to the earlier version! Otherwise, this is an absolutely fabulous app, and I am very grateful to the people who make this possible.

Love the programme. Enjoy the readers, selection of books and effort put in. Recommend to all, especially the young to hear great works and learn.

Sleepy gal. Great app ,I go to sleep listening each night, A few of the readers voices are a bit boring and some speak too fast but mostly fine.

Love it. Great app. Love to listen to the stories at night when sleep won't come.

David Edwards. Wouldn’t miss it, use every day; my sleep companion !

The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. I really enjoyed this timeless classic. The readers spoke clearly and with emotion and excitement in their voices when the story required it. Thank you.

Great app. Awesome app love the work you guys do.i have heaps of friends addicted to LibriVox

Librivox. Absolutely brilliant APP just put my earphones on an that's it no more nagging Wives Brilliant just Brilliant

Unable to find bookmark. Each time I stop listening, I have to do a search to find the book I was listening to and where in the book I was up to. Perhaps there is a way to do this but I haven’t found it. Otherwise a great ap.

Pls fix timer. Does not finish at end of chapter or after time set. Iphone. 13.3.1 Thank you.

Problems. Annoying that app can now only be viewed in portrait mode.

Love the app. Can’t go to sleep without it

Great app!. Features like timer to end playback and download are great. The app also downloads the next chapter as you listen which is good for space saving. All the audio content is free and read by volunteers so the quality varies. But there are some pretty good options here.

Good stories but poor app. There's a great range of stories here, but the app is not very user friendly. I only listen to a couple of chapters at a time and when I close the app it forgets which book it was reading and which chapter it was up to, so I have to go and find the place I was up to each time I want to start listening again. This could be so easily fixed. Also the sleep timer only works within chapters. So if you set the timer to listen to more than one chapter, as soon as the first chapter ends the timer switches itself off.

Great App!!. This is a fantastic app, there are loads of free audiobooks to choose from that are actually really great to listen too. It's the best audiobook app I've come across!!

Seek and you shall find.... When my hands are busy I can always rely LibriVox to tune in

5 stars. Life changing 🙏🏽 Thankyou

Love the app. I would give this great app a 5 if it had the option to organise your favourites better. I would like to be able to put titles I’ve listen to already apart from ones I would like to in the future. I use this app instead of the radio in the car for years and sometimes forget the names of the stories I’ve listen to and DL them again. I would gladly pay a one off fee for the privilege of that option. Or a warning asking “ you’ve enjoyed this before do you wish to continue?”

Almost Perfect. Neat little app that makes accessing LibriVox's catalogue very easy. Great search, download & favourites functionality. Lacking in playback though: doesn't remember which book you were listening to, nor which chapter or where you were up to. The lock screen UI could be improved with a lot of functionality and info too. I hope it's on its way. Great start.

Dark Fantasy. I love LibriVox , there is a huge variety of books to listen too . I think it’s great that they are read by volunteers , some of whom are just brilliant . And it all free, accessible to all . ❤️🌹❤️

Love the concept!. And the updated app is much better!

Not bad. Some of the functionality could be improved like fading out the sleep timer and sorting out the echo on the speed adjustment. But for a free app I think it works pretty well most of the time.

Great free reads. So grateful to all the amazing volunteers for reading these books. Making my commute to work so much more enjoyable!

Great. Thanks to all the people who donate their time to read these books and provide them free of charge :-)

Very valuable. Thank you to all the volunteers

Help please. My husband and I love this app and have used it for ages but recently (May 2022) there has been a problem with it cutting out continuously during a chapter of a book. We have tried using three different phones and same problem. Hopefully you can fix this problem. Thank you.

Makes the world better!. Thanks so much to the authors!!

Great stories. Easy to use.. Reliable. Easy. I wish it allowed me to see which chapter I'm on and how long it is while the audio is playing. I have to pause and look. But overall, I'm really enjoying listening to some awesome free books on a free app. I can't complain.

Enjoy LibriVox. I love listening to the detective yarns

Love LibriVox. So great to be able to listen to such great stories for free. It's also so easy to use. A fantastic resource.

Love the app... when it works. I have been listening to LibriVox every night for 9 months on my Samsung. It has beautiful recordings and amazing stories. However, on my iPhone 6 , I can't listen to any of them because it won't open any of them! It opens the app fine, but won't allow me to click on any of the books. Please fix this, I was so close to finishing my obsession with the OTR collection!

The only audiobook app with ads. If you want a decent app with more books and no ads use Overdrive instead. The ads on this app get in the way of trying to navigate the app so I deleted it. I have listened to over 400 books on overdrive with no issues

Not free money withdrawn from my credit card. Upon downloading this app money was taken out of my credit card. No where in the description does it state that a charge will be made, I checked my c.card after down loading and yep from iTunes Store a withdraw was made. :(

My favourite way of listening to Librivox. This is hands down the easiest and most reliable way of listening to audiobooks in the vast Librivox library I know of. The free version works fine, but the price of the paid version is extremely reasonable, and that’s what I use these days. Newly released audiobooks are available in this app almost instantly, which is a great feature.

Family time. Great for supporting kids homework and bedtime stories.

Too tired to read? Want that experience of listening to a story on the radio?. I love this app and am very grateful to all the kind people who put in the effort of creating, supporting and reading out loud to make it great.

I love LibriVox. Fantastic app, love listening while driving interstate. Some great reads!

No luck finding books, very messy app. I downloaded this app hoping to listen to some books that have been on my list for a while. I searched about 10 books and none of them came up. Shocking. These weren’t obscure books either eg My Sister’s Keeper, Stephen Hawking, Ikigai. Quite disappointed really. Thought to browse to find any book but couldn’t sort through ‘Most Popular Books’ or well acclaimed. You just need to search for one and hope for the best. There’s also a ‘List’ category which I realised was just random user’s own lists of books. I suggest download the app to find a book you’re interested in but don’t hold your breath.

I love it. Considering that Libravox is free, there's quite a good range of books. Something for everyone. There are various versions of the popular books, which I really like because I can't stand to hear something like Pride and Prejudice being read by a man with an American accent (it's just wrong!) so I can just choose another version. My favourite is The Chronicles of Crime, Volume One, and I'm hoping Volume Two is in the works! Great app and service. A big thanks to all at Libravox.

Librivox. I wish I could give Librivox a better rating and two stars seems to show a lack of gratitude towards the volunteers who read the books However in my experience two many factors detract from what should be a blessing for listeners. I had a long list of complaints and suggestions for movement which I emailed to them but I did not receive a reply The pilgrims progress by Chaucer should be read in Middle English and here is too much provided about his life.

Listener. Wonderful ap! Free, allows downloads, and reviewers comment so you know if a recording goes dodgy. The only thing I'd like is if the rabbit/speed button wasn't so sensitive or had a % (I can't quite tell if I'm speeding it up, until I *really* can.)

Is this app faulty?. I'd love to give this app a higher rating, as it used to be brilliant, however after the last update this app seems to have some glitches. Almost every time (9 out of 10 times), the story stops after playing for approximately a minute, then you have to restart the story, and then it stops again.... I've tried skipping over the point where the story stopped, but it doesn't help, the story stops again after a minute. It seems to happen with all stories now, rendering the app useless. Frustrating.

Good app - free audiobooks!. Downloads and plays well. Selection is improving but can be a bit hit and miss sometimes.

Glitchy app. It's wonderful that this exists and there is a free database of audiobooks, the concept of this deserves 5 stars, however the app itself is lacking. Whenever I try to resume a chapter after closing the app it doesn't load. And the app also looks rather cluttered. These bugs could be easily fixed to make it more user friendly.

Great App. I use LibriVox frequently. It is really great. Thumbs up from me.

Like No Other. This app honestly is one of my most used. It's simple and allows you to access Librivox away from a computer. It has never glitched for me and functionality is great except for the fact that you can't sync where you're up to across devices, which is certainly not a deal breaker. Superficially, the UI could be prettier, more modern, to make using the app a more enjoyable experience but other than that 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼

Started paying the monthly support happy to donate. Please fix the app though, I definitely am connected to the internet with full bars 5G and mobile data turned on and Librivox App says I cannot download because I’m not connected to the internet. Apologies for my grammar, English is not my first language. I hope you understand me. Thank you

World Class. Simply Marveous

Cant find any thing. I cant find any thing I search it’s very old books pleas have newer books

Great App. This is a great App, and there are many talented readers who bring the classics back to life. It is unfortunate that the Review component of each book does not seem to be working.

Good but sound not always good. Have found the app to be very good, however the volume level on some recordings is so low cannot Hear the reading over road noise

Resume missing. My last two selections would not resume where they left off after I shut down to go to bed or go for a meal. Previously I could simply tap “resume”. Not any more. Libre Vox is now USELESS!

It is fine. That is all good and all that but it has a downside there is not a lot of kiddish books it’s a pretty good app but it could be better sometimes it’s fun to go down memory lane and read a lot of books you read as a kid so I give it a three I hope there’s another update where there’s more kid books Like dragon rider wings of fire etc.

Well pleased. Have used this book listening app for a long time and continue to find it very useful and enjoyable on the many occasions where I am unable to read but can listen. It is rare that the readers are not clear and pleasant of voice and I am most appreciative of the time and effort given to this effort. Thanks to all who make this possible.

Great resource. Lots of options for listening to classic full free audiobooks; they can be downloaded for listening anywhere. Obviously some readers and their audio (or enunciation) quality may vary, but for a free app and service of Audiobooks, in my experience this is second to none.

Really great!. I love this app and currently listening to Sherlock Holmes as I’m writing this. This app really helped me in ELA when I couldn’t make it to classes so thank you lol, I have to ask to add a story though, can you guys add Harry Potter and the philosopher’s stone? I know you guys do stories that is not this kind of type but I would really love to see it added since I can’t use audible without paying. Thank you!

You get what you pay for. This app crashes often, and some books don’t play at all. The selection is about what you’d expect for free- some public domain stuff written 80+ years ago and a lot of generic, self published first novels. The narrators are mostly volunteers, but most do a pretty good job. Overall, it’s not great, but I do feel weird complaining too much about free audiobooks, so I have to give it at least a couple stars.

I love it!. I never would have gotten into Sherlock, first the books then the excellent tv show, if I had not been told of this app. I have thoroughly enjoyed it and I am very thankful for the time that many people put into this in order that I may listen to many books!

Mme bovary. Pour quelqu’un qui n’aime pas lire je me suis remis à la lecture grâce aux extraits audio merci

Love it. Love how you can bookmark and resume later!!

Occasionally glitchy app unlocks a world of literature. There is room for improvement with this app, but it’s basically a simple platform to enjoy the vast treasure trove of public domain audio content that is the LibriVox website.

App crashes constantly. App constantly crashing after a few minutes. Deleted and reinstalled but still crashes. Please fix it.

Thank god for the public domain. We’re so lucky to have such quality books and quality readers

Not enough selection. Is hi hi good. still It

Classical literature. Great to be able to listen to classical literature while I cook, drive, or do laundry. The format is easy to use and of course - it’s free.

Great free app!. As well as books there are quite a few old radio programs. For the most part the audio is excellent for radio. The books are great, but reading ability varies. It ruins some of them! However, you can easily find the books read by readers you like. There are some excellent readers. It’s all free!

Merci. Très facile d’accès et très audible.

Not useful. I thought this would be a great app but it’s full of classic literature. I paid for a full subscription and it still has ads. Also there is no option to select a genre. Very disappointed

Good and free audiobook app.. If anyone likes to listen to audiobooks from authors such as Jules Verne, or HG Wells, then this app is the app for you. Very good app, the trouble is sometimes, not all their catalogue loads.

J'aime. Une grande sélection de titres et j'apprécie la variété des voix.

Great Free Books. It’s great to listen all these public domain books for free, but it would be better if they curated the readers and recordings better. Some are good, but some are not good at all.

Why is the app keep crashing on my ios15.4.1 xs max?. App usually crashes after couple mins in, please help

review. pleasant experience. I have enjoyed the app it is much appreciated.

Such a great App. I give my thanks to whoever started this project. It’s incredible to have so many books available

Crashing every minute. I loved LibriVox before, but now it’s crashing after every few sentences.

Above life turmoil by James Allen. Excellent read by Andrea Fiore Thank you for reading so many of James Allen work - he never copy writes gods work so it would be accessible to all and now we can listen to the various works because of Andrea efforts ... totally appreciated and enjoyed regularly!!!!!

Rafe I. I love whoever organized this library and set it up- truly doing good work. Fantastic the help this has been to my psychological well being, god bless you all!

I love LibriVox. I love that you can change what language it is and that there are a lot of old stories that I love😎😎😎

Excellent app. This is the best source of free audiobooks I know of. I really enjoyed listening to Sherlock Holmes, Treasure island, and other books.

The app is a great way to learn English. There are many classical book for those who are avid book lovers. It helps you digest the book.

Fantastic app. I’ve listened to world class books narrated by professional readers.

Awesome app I recommend. It’s free and there’s tons of great classics. If you’re into audiobook let me say that again: it’s free. Oh and the ones I listened so far were perfectly read and recorded. Thank you so much for developing this, education should be free for all 😉

My Simple Review. Let me start with my one complaint which is also true of audio books that I have paid for from other sources - namely that I do not always prefer the narration. Adverts are a given with something of this nature. On the pro side, the books are indeed free with no signing up. They can be downloaded and listened to offline and there is a great selection of audiobooks, podcasts and sermons. Recording quality is generally decent and there are at times multiple recordings for us touchy people who want to hear a book read according to our preference.

Best Free App EVER!. This is an amazing gift to us all. There are some super talented readers who have donated hours of their time to share some great literature with us. I am very grateful to them all! You can search google to find the names of some superior readers.

Love the concept. I’m writing primarily to request some features and help improve the app 1. add a donate button to better fund app dev / readers 2. Add google / alexa streaming without requiring an iPhone to select a book but offer a voice menu interface 3. My first book stream wasn’t my default language, language selection needs improvement

Still a fantastic resource, free audiobooks!. This app is a bit long in the tooth but hell; it still works. Finally get around to those classic books you’ll never actually read or pay for as audiobooks. The app makes it easy to find the audiobooks you want, just be sure to try a couple different versions and pick the one you like best, some of them are WAY better than others so it’s worth shopping a bit before settling. Overall works like audible. Tracks your position etc. Love to listen to classic books while I go to sleep. If you’re not sure where to start listen to Frankenstein! What a great book.

This is what. I am very happy after the downloading of this app, easy to download the books and listen it any time without any issues.

Great app for audiobooks, TY!. Update: Well, after a few years the app is now busy busy with interrupting ads and as other reviews said it crashes very often when loading. Not as pleasant an experience, in fact, a bit of a PIA now, too bad. I use it much less frequently. Former enthusiastic review: I really like this app. I rarely do reviews because I find developers change apps, provide misleading or half-true descriptions of apps, well, I'm often disappointed. Not this time. It's super easy to load librivox books, and listen to them. Also (huge bonus) there ARE people behind the app to answer questions and help use it. Great adjunct to the whole librivox idea of free access to books. Not super sophisticated but great basics. Don't change it. Thanks.

excellente app. jadore yo ;)

Good in theory. LibriVox is a good idea in theory, but in practice most of the readers are poor stylistically, so that most works cannot be heard enjoyably, and one must make do with what one can find that is read at least tolerably, rather than what one was looking for.

The Job. A very entertaining book by Sinclair Lewis and excellently read by Michelle Harris.

A treasure. What a trove of good listening.. LibriVox gives me a world of pleasure.!

Excellent. Wounderful books thanks

Amazing. Librevox is mu go-to when it comes to old fashioned books! I love most of the readers, and the selection is huge, as pong as it was written a while ago (early ninteen hundreds) I always listen to it while crocheting for my buissness, and have recommended it.

Enjoyable listening. I was told about this app from a friend and we have thoroughly enjoyed listening to the stories of Thornton W. Burgess on this app. It has been great to be able to download the stories and listen offline as we travel in the car. Highly recommend LibriVox.

The. Card. I’ve listened to this recording 3 times now and will no doubt listen to it a fourth.

Problèmes de lecture. Depuis le dernier mis à jour, la lecture arrête, rien à faire. Besoin d’aide svp.

Unhappy and dissatisfied. I used to love this app, I would use it all the time to listen to my audiobooks. Unfortunately, a few seconds after I turn off my phone, the app crashes and the audiobook no longer plays. I’m very disappointed.

Too much extra talking. Every chapter starts with the same opening title, part, chapter etc. Disrupts the flow of the story and takes you out of it completely. All they need to say is the chapter number. I can understand why they do it initially but it should be edited out when it is posted.

Librivox. This is a great idea, and I love listening to the classics while driving. Beats what passes for music on the rsdio. Brilliant.

Wonderful! But makes my phone hot. Something about this app heats up my phone like nothing I've felt before. But the books are worth! Quality recordings of a variety of writings. Only other thing I don't like is that is pauses/freezes when listening through to the next section. Each time a new one starts, I have to pause and unpause several times for it to start again.

Great books. You can’t imagine what LibriVox has done for me. Since I love to read and do little crafty things LibriVox lets me do both at once. And though it doesn’t have my absolute favorite book series because LibriVox only has books that aren’t printed new any more it lets me listen to my second favorite and do something I love with my hand at the same time! I can fanaly multitask two thing that I love to do.

A true public treasure.. Just like Wikipedia, only purer, many of the best things we have available are the product of volunteer labor on the part of interested people. There is so much excellent content in public domain. This may be one of the best ways to broaden your education just by listening and at no cost. It’s true that not every reader is professional quality, but the copies available get better every day.

I Love Lucy On Radio. To hear I love Lucy on radio is simply mind blowing. Imagine not having to sit and watch television anymore. You can take this show with you not to mention several other shows, comedy, poems, and many many other genres with you wherever you go. There will always be a narrator ready to read to you any title you choose. Even more exciting (as an icing to the cake),it’s all FREE. I’ll take FREE ANYTIME. Thank you.

What a Gem!. I don’t know if people realize the value of audiobooks yet, but in this busy world where we all work so hard to pay our bills, it’s hard to find time to read. This app gives you the opportunity to indulge in every subject imaginable. I love listening at night while cooking dinner and in the car on the way to work. Thank you LibriVox

what’s going on?. librivox Seems to have really slept… Like no one’s at home on my end the store. Are you just a shell now to get people to sign up for audible? Or the horrendous other ads that blast through the box for listening to? After I finish this book I think I’ll be moving on to other sites for my free classic audiobooks… I’ve listen to you guys for years but between the hands and the glitches… But not worth it and that’s even for free. sad.

Latest paid version scroll function is difficult to use. Not sure what is in the dev team’s mind by replacing a straightforward scroll function using horizontal bar line with easy forward & backward scrolling and replaced with vertical bars that is time consuming to use. Please bring back that easy-to-use function instead of the current vertical scroll bars with 10 sec increment. Too cumbersome and time consuming. I hope you take this feedback into account in your next product scrum meeting… 😉

The art of Public Speaking.. This book is as relevant now as it was when it was written. Have we been taken back in time? It talks about the false negative reaction to socialism that’s untrue and uneducated, the mismanagement of government money (spent on wars instead of housing and infrastructure, etc.), racism against immigrants and many many other things. Everyone should read this book.

Great site. We have been listening to books for several years now. We really enjoy all the old mystery and detective stories available, I think we have heard about all of them now! It’s been a great traveling companion. So glad to have a free site, books that are clean and free of sex and bad language! Thanks !

Great!!. Librivox is so great! It helps a lot with books I need for school. I also just love to listen for pleasure and I enjoy it very much! Some readers are just not good but overall most of the readers are so amazing! On the app you can download the books you want so if you don't have connection then you can still listen which is very helpful! I highly recommend Librivox!

Amazing!. Librivox is a great service for any book lover. I have listened to many many books on here all the time and i still have many on my list to listen to. Its great that it is free, has many titles you wouldn't expect, and some narrators that are just superb. For a free service, maintained entirely by volunteers this is great and definitely worth downloading and if you've got a voice of gold its worth donating to as well.

Grateful. I had been wanting to read a variety of classic works but rarely could find the time. Through the generous efforts of talented volunteers in reading and recording these works I’ve been given the ability to listen to many wonderful stories...and all for free! The app itself works great and is very easy to use. Many thanks!

Love the Free Audio Books. I love audio books! Let’s me feel productive. I can take in a good book and do chores at the same time, or better yet, quilt and sew! Some of the readers are excellent. Selection is good. And they are free. I don’t even mind the short commercials. No yelling and they are condensed snippets of information. Keep doing what your doing Librevox and I’m a customer for life.

Life saving. I absolutely adore this. These books have saved my sanity. I especially love hearing Ruth Golding speak. I can’t believe the amount of classics on here. I listen to books practically all day now. While cleaning, cooking, running, and everything in between. These books are priceless and your mind will thank you later.

Awesome for LD and driving. What a great resource for dyslexics. My HS age child has been using LibriVox to keep up in school for years but this app is icing on the cake. She can listen anywhere with ease and can always find a voice she enjoys ( v. important if the voice is hard to listen to it is a struggle). I'm enjoying the app on my drive to work. App easy to use and download is a valuable feature so not burning up data😄

Wonderful app. It has been some years ago I found Librivox and the opportunity to listen to dozens (a lot!) of classics, mysterys and more. I have recommend this site to many of my students (University), to help improve their knowledge of classics. I do have one question. With the latest download version I find I am unable to open the genre specifics or click on titles under an authors name. Any suggestions?

What a gift!. Librivox is a gift that keeps on giving! A friend introduced me during a long spell of illness and pain, and HOW it's helped get through those long hours! Many of the volunteer readers have extraordinary talent! (Thank you! Thank you!) I find it's a bit like having a dear friend pull up a chair to the hearth-fire, and sit a cozy while, sharing tale after tale... I just love it! Many thanks to the creators of this wonderful app!

Many classics. I am so grateful for this app, the readers of classics from all over the world. It is priceless. I love to listen in French, German and Spanish and it's thrilling to have access to masterpieces read in their original tongue. Whoever started this idea making it possible to listen for free to our human heritage of the written word spoken once again did all of us a great service.

I used to consider this a 4star app.... Because LibriVox is volunteer based, it was never going to be 5 stars—90% of the readers are very good, but there’s that 10% who aren’t. However, due to the sudden appearance of ridiculously loud ads after a mere 30 minutes or so of listening, I’m finding this borderline unusable. I’ve had LibriVox for years (and loved it!) and this issue has only come up for me recently. It makes me sad—and annoyed and startled when I’m using the app to fall asleep. Another free audiobook option bites the dust....

Commercials are horrible. Are used to love LibriVox Until the commercials. I listen to LibriVox to go to sleep and would just drift off and then the horrible blaring commercial would come on and wake me up. If they feel it necessary to have commercials they should at least have it at the beginning of a segment rather than in the middle of one.

Words are Living. Language skills and communication are the foundation of civilization and progress. They call them classics for a reason. There is no resource for experiencing imagination and reality better than LibriVox. I drive truck for a living, and with it’s versatility in lower G areas, LibriVox is my best friend doing my job. Thank you for the creation of this irreplaceable app!!

Go Online, Use the Website. Sheesh, I'm a huge fan of the librivox service and community but I recommend people don't bother with this very tedious, clunky, and ad-infested app. Their website is vastly easier and better, even on a phone. I offer this heartfelt entreaty to the makers of this app: either make it decent or take out the ads, because you're gonna drive away potential users of this fantastic service, all to scam them out of some change? I'd happily donate $5 to the Librivox Foundation, but would die before paying the app fee. Sad, sad app-situation.

Great app don’t like the ads. There were not audio modern day ads before that kills the whole vibe while listening. That was an extremely disappointing addition to the app. I presume the one you pay for doesn’t have them. The contrast is too harsh for enjoyment. Especially while listening on headphones or at night. I listen to these books when I sleep the ads are so loud they are shocking.

What a joy and privilege to use this resource. I have to say Andrew Murray could not have found a better voice that of Christopher to read his writing....I enjoy every moment of it..while taking my autistic son to walk with my three dogs...and on every step meditating on every word. Thank you for all who made this resource possible.

Cloth. So I got this app because my mom wanted me to because of some school assignments. But I kept it because I really enjoy it. I have download quite a few books and look forward to downloading and listening to more. Literally no complaints. I will admit that some of the recordings aren’t highest quality but I understand completely. These put me to sleep every night. Thanks developers!!!!

I love the app but. I love the story but the ads are terrible. I use this to help me sleep and when an ad comes up it spikes up the volume a lot. I have it playing through a speaker and other people on the other side of the house can here it. I try turning my WiFi off to stop the ads but the app turns my WiFi back on by itself and I don’t know how. If this can be fixed it would be amazing.

Why the interruptions?. I love LibriVox. It has provided me with countless hours of entertainment, especially while doing mindless but necessary tasks. It has even helped me dramatically with my lifelong insomnia. But now, without warning, my peaceful reveries or my embroilment in an exciting novel or short story is marred bY loud and obnoxious commercials at high decibels. Is nothing sacred from the evils of unfettered capitalism?! It is like interrupting prayer with screeching hymns from tone deaf choir boys. A sacrilege of literature. You wound me.

App shuts off unexpectedly and forgets last location. I wish the app would work properly. For me, the app typically shuts off a couple of minutes after my phone screen turns off. In addition, if I reopen the book, it forgets the last location that was read and returns to an earlier part of the book. I haven’t seen any settings which would account for this. I deleted the app and re-downloaded it but the same problems continued. But for that serious deficiency, it would be a great app.

Horrible - once I paid a subscription all downloads stopped. As soon as I paid for a subscription the app stopped working. Now I cannot play any books which were working fine before. I wanted to listen to these on the train and the apps says they have downloaded for offline listening but it does not work and keeps asking you to connect to the internet. Even though it says downloaded and all you can do is delete the book. There is no way to get customer support for this so I am writing this review, stick with the free version!!

Treasure trove. The expense and limited selection of classics had prevented me from subscribing to Audible—I had no idea Librivox existed. It is too good to be true. The $2.49 subscription is no hardship and I’ve already listened to 2 Jane Austen novels and felt as though I stole hours of pleasure. This is truly a godsend for me during this pandemic. The readings are clear, expressive, flawless so far. I can’t thank you enough.

People helping people learn. I first found this app 4 or so years ago. I love how you can participate if u so desire. I've learned a lot over the years from this app. For people who may not have a library card this is the go to app for audio books without having to pay. Pro large selection of topics. Con some people are a little hard to hear unless volume is turned up.

My Favorite app. I love LibriVox!! It takes we through 2 1/2 hours of daily commute to work. The classics I read in high school and college were not nearly as interesting as they are now...35 years later. Great authors are frequently known for one major work. With LibriVox I have been exposed to many of their writings. Thank you volunteers for making this app possible! Best App of any kind!!

Good, free books! Does have flaws but good!. Very good for books, you don’t need a library card or have to wait to get books. Has some books that I probably wouldn’t be able to find in many other places. Does have ads at times after finishing a chapter or two, and doesn’t have a very smooth transition from chapter to chapter. But it’s a good app if you want free audiobooks!

Librivox keeping the synapses going. I love Librivox! As a voracious reader I find I can go stir crazy while doing my art work (my job). With Librivox I can keep my brain engaged while doing the more mindless elements of my work. The variety is wonderful and I'm rediscovering books I read as a young woman and finding them different thought the lens of maturity.

What an amazing app!!. So many wonderful classic books to choose from, read by so many wonderful people! Granted, some are better than others but - it’s marvelous being able to listen the classics when I simply don’t have time to sit and read. ❤️❤️❤️

Sort of buggy and could use some work, but it’s free audiobooks... enough said.. Sort of buggy and could use some work, but it’s free audiobooks... enough said. App freezes sometimes, it’s quite laggy at times, doesn’t remember your place usually. But chances are if you’re looking at this app your searches it out and know what you’re getting.

Consummate reader. After listening to a few books you begin to realize a poor narrator can ruin a good story. Having said that I do enjoy the service and for the price, I could justify a lower score just because some narrators have not developed better skills. Perhaps if there was a way to give honest feedback it would help those who struggle to improve their skills.

Lose the Adds. LibriVox has been one of the coolest things out there. Free volunteer read books in the public domain! How cool is that u get to read a book fir others and also listen to thousands of books read by others. So what happened why are u now running ads on this volunteer based site? They are really annoying. Call fir donations to meet ur needs ads goes against the whole idea. Thanks LibriVox volunteers for all u do and have done. Sincerely Dave

Love these audiobooks. I’ve been listening to stories from this app for years! So many readers have such great voices. I often prefer the audiobooks over reading myself because of their voices. Our children also listen to these stories with us so we can build our home and great memories around books!

Love this app!. This app is SOO helpful especially when I am folding laundry or doing crafts! The only problem (although very minor... not enough to take away a star) is that after a chapter, a random advertisement started playing! This was the first time it happened so I was a bit surprised... If there is any way to get rid of this, yay! Otherwise I can easily deal with it! Thanks for a great app!

Jane Eyre. Version 2.. Love Elizabeth Klett !!!!! I read Jane Eyre at first as a teen-ager. I adore this story and Ms Klett is the voice of Jane Eyre herself …I have heard the entire book and continue to listen to some of this daily. I’m a true romantic and Ms Klett has captured all the essence of this brilliant novel with her remarkable , talented , beautiful voice !! I see Ms Klett as a true artist !!! I can’t say enough about her !! Thank you Ms Klett !!! You have made Jane Eyre my favorite novel of all time now !!!

Great App! Love the Readers and the Books!. Well laid out website, I love the many books that they have, I would highly recommend this app to any one! Glitch though, minor, when I start another app while listening it sometimes stops working, freezes and shuts down. This very rare though and other than that I love it!

Pressing the crap out of my screen. I love this app so much but I’m giving it three stars because I have to literally hit my screen to select things. Also I’m a little disappointed there don’t appear to be a lot of books I wanted to listen to but I’m loving the HG wells. And I don’t understand why you have the pay for this app with now bonus book as apposed to the free LibriVox app

The Secret Garden. Listening to The Secret Garden (version 2) read by Karen Savage. It is sweet story about young children between 10 - 12 years old. The main characters have had traumatic experiences and spending time outdoors in the garden helps heal their spirit. This is a light read for adults. Karen Savage is a good reader and her voice captures the essence of the characters. I recommend the story and the reader.

Great potential. I *really* appreciate all the work that must go into making all these “books on tape” available and easy to “read” when you can’t do the actual reading yourself. Having said that, my first Librivox book is pretty dense & I need to slow it down to really take it in. But if I slow it down, there’s a horrible echo, which makes it unusable! :( Please fix this; I’m eager to listen & give the app the high star rating it (almost) deserves.

Amazing Resource! What a gift to us!. I love listening to books on LibriVox! I have my favorite readers and it is wonderful to be able to hear the stories while I work or rest. I also like to download free books from the library and read along with the reader on LibriVox. If you or someone you know has any difficulty with reading, this could be a way to develop better skills at reading and focusing, or even break through obstacles in reading that have been difficult to overcome. I am so thankful for the hard work of the volunteers. I have read so much more than usual since I discovered this resource, and that feels great! Look for the works of Karen Savage and Elizabeth Klett! They are excellent readers!

Great website, not great app realization. LibriVox is awesome! But this app has some bugs. Number 1 problem for me is that I cannot get the books to play continually from chapter to chapter. The playback always stops at the end of every chapter & I have to wake up my phone & have the app open in order for it to go on to the next chapter. And the time it takes for this process between chapters is a real drag. Sometimes up to 1 minute.

Good, Great if you like older literature.. I’m a teenager so I don’t really find much interesting stuff on this app. I do like the fairy tales, however. It has all the old classics and I really do appreciate that. However, having Ads in between each chapter is kind of annoying and maybe you could fix that? Overall I think it’s really good for people who like old literature but if you don’t, maybe go to audible or OverDrive/Libby.

Easy to use. I use library apps for all my audio books and found this one easy to use and intuitive which made it possible to build my library and start listening right away. I wouldn’t bother with the paid version. The ads are between chapters and not every time.

Hello. This is such a good book app I mean I think that everyone she gets up just don’t listen to what I would do is just change the ad because like this in the night time and I hear it like an ad for them to wake up so I will just cancel out the Advil to possibly do that but yes please cancel all the ads because it’s just when you’re sleeping in here so hard but some people might not like it for raising kids and I listen to this is not a good
