Videos don’t play. The app is breath taking and texts are fascinating. But the videos just won’t play. I expected more from a Harper Collins app. Until this is fixed I will not give it five stars

Fantastic App!. This is a great app for exploring the universe, from the smallest particle to the biggest mega structure imaginable. It’s enjoyable by all ages. It is beautiful, with gorgeous accompanying music. Think of it as an overall survey of the universe a la Cosmos, rather than a way to look up specific elements like constellations or star names. (The video streaming has been fixed! This makes me - and my 8 year old - very happy, so I have changed my rating back to 5 stars.)

Video Streaming FIXED. Thank you so much for finally fixing the video streaming issue. This was and still is one of my favorite iOS apps.

Absolutely beautiful, gorgeous, fantastic, etc. I love anything related to the universe and played quite a lot of space 4X games, but this app, despite not being a game, massively satisfies my love for comprehending the wonderfulness of the great Universe. It has gorgeous graphics, the zooming in and out between the different scopes is smooth and really gives the breath-taking effect. The music is very, very nicely made, something that would mesmerise you that makes you believe you're floating in space. The videos and speeches are all wonderfully made, and the knowledge it provides will make almost make you cry, because you know in your lifetime you would never fully understand everything in this universe... Anyway this app is not simply some boring educational app, but a very nicely made entertaining, educational app that not only gives you knowledge but also makes you love such knowledge. Highly recommended!

Simply Beautiful. This is quite possibly the most magnificent app in the app store. Especially on the retina display iPad, every detail of this app is evident. This is a very well thought-out, highly interactive app about The Universe that will wow anybody, and teach everybody. It's apparent that everyone involved in making this app loves what they do, as this is well executed. Thank you! Keep up the great work!

Was hesitant at first, well worth the purchase. I'm a science, astronomy, physics and technology geek. This app hits each of those areas. This is a must have for anyone who shares the same interests. The quality + information in this app is amazing. If you have kids at an age where space has caught their imagination, buy this for them. A lot of information may be well above their understanding but the videos and pictures make up for it. Suggestions for the Developer, It would be nice to be able to download the content vs streaming it every time. Also, connecting to TV (via iPad HDMI adapter) is restricted. It would be great to allow adapter / Apple TV mirroring support to share with kids on the big screen.

Won't work on iPad 1, even though it says it will.. I have this latest version, 1.7, of Wonders of the Universe installed on two iPhone 5s and two iPad Minis, each of which are running iOS 7.1, and the app works wonderfully. Despite the fact that the writeup for this latest version of "Wonders" says that it is now for the iPhone and iPad 1, it will not install on my iPad 1 (the original iPad from 2010), running iOS 5.1.1, which is where Apple left it without support quite a while ago. In fairness, this app writeup states that it's compatibility requires iOS 7.0 or later, so we're left with a contradiction between that and where the developer claims it is now compatible with iPad 1. I'm disappointed in Apple for not supporting my original iPad, and in Harper Colins for claiming the app will now run on iPad 1, which is not true.

Needs bigger things!. Add Antares and UY Scuti and the multiverse I will be 😃

Great App. I rated it 5 stars for multiple reasons of course. 1) I'm a High school student and they don't even teach us this at our school. Although I knew almost half the stuff on the app before I download (through own interest research). It helped with the explanation of everything, breaking it down to a similar level in which I could understand. 2) Learning it through Professor Cox explanation, videos, images, Animations, information lets you grasp everything of the universe in a understandable way. 3) Don't know why everybody else rating it low, it's an app were you can get information in a way were you could have never gotten it before. Not to teach your classes or because you expected more than what is already plentiful. Can't wait for Wonders of life

Omg absolutely fascinating. This app is amazing. My children love it I love it my husband loves it. We hook the iPhone to our pocket projector from brookstone and make it a movie night. But with everything kids...... They have little patience for the video interruptions. Is there a way we can watch the videos continuously with out have the picture and lecture in between. Although we read your information and look at the pictures the video menu option would be the only thing missing. Oh as we watch the videos the kids attempt to look into space with the naked eye looking for what you just explain. A must have app I would pay any in app extras my hats off to you Star

Lovely app. I'm in love with this app. It's beautiful, informative and an amazing thing to show off to other people. I have 4 gripes, though: 1)You should have the option to download the videos for offline viewing since the streaming slows down frequently. 2)Navigation for information could be a bit better. 3)Articles should have more information. Most articles end up just being a summary. The addition of a glossary of terms would be very welcome. 4) I know Pluto isn't a planet anymore but there's no information on it. You'd think a dwarf planet with such story would feature more information, but there barely was any. There's a lot of room for improvement here, and this app has the potential of being the ultimate must have in the App Store.

How I envy the young.... ... because they will have a lifetime of learning with interactive media like this. Simple, straightforward, and visually stunning, this iPad app is really an object of beauty. I'm an astrophysics enthusiast and this app really appeals to me because it has all the best elements of the television series but lets me follow my train of curiosity. The feeling of being totally submersed in a subject is just wonderful and this app really gives one that feeling. I cannot wait to let my nieces and nephews use this program. I'm sure it will ignite in them the same fascination that I have with the cosmos and the atomic/subatomic world.

Needs iPhone X screen support. A really good app. Just needs iPhone X screen support.

Where is the star information?. Cool music, but when you click on a star it doesn't tell you what the star is made of! Don't buy this app if you want to learn star information.

Mind Blowing, Yet Clear. I've only been using this app for about ten minutes or so, and already I'm hooked. Visually, the app is stunning. Zoom in on practically any image or background and see the detail remain. As for the content, my avoidance of the scientific nitty-gritty has been cured. Information is direct, yet presented in an easily understandable manner. I've started with sub-atomic, and I can't wait to see what's next.

I mean just...my god!. This officially makes my iPad feel like a futuristic piece of technology. I zoomed out from Earth, then from the solar system, then from our galaxy, then from a galaxy cluster, then out to a super cluster and then to a view of the universe I have never been able to imagine. I literally gasped out load and starred at this sight for several minutes before zooming all the way back into subatomic particles. This app is amazing. And it will really make you understand your place in the universe.

Videos …. I understand this is an old app now, however I think embedding all videos within the app rather than having them stream from somewhere would be a great fix, and maybe a final one. My iPad 3 could barley handle this gorgeous app, now however neither performance nor storage are a problem for more modern M1 iPads … I mean I have the Blu-ray’s of the series and all, but the app is really worth saving

In a word - Stunning. I bought this app on the strength of the reviews posted and I must say this is the best app I have ever seen on an iPad. I totally agree that this kind of app showcases the iPad's strenghts for all to see. The application is simply stunning. I cannot recommend it highly enough, and at this price, its an absolute steal. When I first launched it, I probably spent a good 5 minutes just watching the Milky Way rotate. It is just brilliant.

Beautiful!!. Someone complained of limited information....well....if you're a physicist, scientist, or the like, perhaps it's true. Plus, I didn't spend any money since I used the Pick of the Week card from Starbucks to purchase it. But if you're like me....a parent who wants to expose their children to the wonders of the universe, then I'm sure this app will more than satisfy. The format, the photos, and the videos are gorgeous.

No Video Again. I love this app when it is working properly. I updated the app that just fixed the video playback and the app was working great! Now, Most of the videos and sound do not play at all, but sometimes you can hear the audio but the video isn’t working again. Could you please correct the video play back again? I just updated to iOS 14.2 in hopes that this would fix the problem, but it did not. Please correct the video playback again. I would be happy to rate you back up to five stars when corrected! Thanks!

As if... It was totally unnecessary to include this guy or even his name into app. I really don't see the point in it. This app could have been about stars, but it would seem as if it was more important to place this man at the centre of the universe than actually focus on it. It would have been charming if they only included his name as a narrator in a separate credits section, but instead it would seem more as if this app was about making a model out of this guy for the science community. Awful.

Excellent application. I bought this app for my son, who has an interest in the subject. I found the interface intuitive and the material truly inspiring. Mr. Cox narration is a highlight. My son has been exploring it repeatedly for the last week. He surprised his teachers yesterday with a detailed story about the sun and its end. He is five. It shows what a wonderful learning tool this app is.

Next update. When is the update going to come I would like to see the next update can you please update it

In need of an update. I was blown away by this app when it launched, but it hasn’t been supported for over two years and it really needs some bug-fixes. I would really like to see an update that addresses issues with video playback not working on some devices. When using this app on an iPad mini with my 5y/o nephew he was in awe, but disappointed that he couldn’t watch the videos. Please update for iPhone X or at the very least fix bugs with the app clipping in weird places and the UI being off center. I really want to love this app again.

Please fix the video streams. Video playback needs to be addressed (again) - an otherwise good, instructive app

Was a nice app but.... Videos no longer work, and there is no way to download them remotely. Really a shame.

Love It. Gone through sub-atomic and atomic chapters. Very informational and not too scientific. That is what I like about Brian Cox. App is intuitive to use. You can zoom in and out of the chapter image to navigate each chapter. For example, gesture zoom in to the atom to explore the sub-atomic section; zoom out from the atom to explore the solar system. Neat! Excellent educational app for most ages and any level of interest. Also, video appears to be streaming which saves on space.

Really neat app but there are a few mistakes. This is a really cool app. The pictures are beautiful and the videos are a nice addition. For the most part the instructional graphs, charts and illustrations help a layperson to understand the basic physics behind how our universe works. However, several details are incorrect. I am not a physicist but have a strong scientific background; therefore it is in my very nature to look for mistakes. I almost immediately found an illustration in which the types of quarks are mislabeled in the proton and neutron. Not too long after that, in an illustration of the Big Bang, I found a mislabeling of a hydrogen atom and a helium atom. I think in both cases the labels were swapped. Not very good editing by the creators. All in all the app is pretty cool and educational- but don't use it to try and pass your college astrophysics final!

Not even a 9th grade science class.. The presentation is very pretty, and the interface is very smooth. However, I was hoping for much more depth to the information. I am a high school science teacher and was excited that there might have been good ideas for ways to present this information. But all of the content here is pretty basic and fluffy. For instance, the section on the periodic table has a video of the narrator dropping sodium in water, a picture of the periodic table, and some text about how elements like to react with each other. Nothing about how the table is organized, or about specific elements. I think this app is for people who slept through their high school science classes and think that "Ghost Hunters" is science.

OK, but could be better. The content is fluffy; it is what you would expect from a television program that caters to the uneducated couch potatoe. However, my four year old likes content and controls. A few minutes per subject is a great bedtime lesson after reading a few fairy tales. The streaming video is very slow, causing videos to pause and buffer for long periods; almost unwatchable. If the users could pre-cache the videos for local storage it would greatly enhance the experience.

Fantastic app. This is the future of education. The app is stunningly beautiful, informative, and intuitive / easy to navigate. Exactly what I want from an astronomy iPad app. Not sure why this would not get a 5 star rating from everybody. The content is good, with numerous videos, text, and hd image galleries for each topic. Brian Cox is a great narrator. His wonder, excitement, and curiosity for the universe is palpable as you finger through each chapter. The entire experience is smooth; Loading time is virtually unnoticeable, which really helps to immerse you into this learning experience. I've had this app for a few days and already there has been an update with new content. Props to the dev team. As a developer myself, I appreciate the time, thought, creativity, and production that goes into creating this app. I want this in the classroom instead of a textbook.

Screen format off. I hadn't used this app in a while. Went to use it the other day and saw that the formatting of the display is off for iPhone 6 (not plus). Tried I installing and reinstalling - still off... Tried contacting app support - THERE IS NONE! Link on app store tool me to Digital River book sellers which sell the book version of this app.... And after two emails with them they did not know how to connect me with app support. It's kind of sad really that am app that is $5 had no way of contacting the developer for support or questions. I used to love this app. Hoping am update comes out soon. I will change my rating once this issue is resolved. Until then - Don't buy!

Holy Jebus. I don't usually rate apps. I generally like apple tech, but am no fanboy. I got the new iPad not because it's a pretty device to show off to friends. In fact, nobody's seen it accept my wife who couldn't care less. I got the new iPad for apps like this one. This makes me want to go out into the world and scream "look!" It is absolutely phenomenal. It gives me a sense of wonder and perks up my amazement for our universe, and the exquisite beauty of it all. I could spend hours just wondering around....Enthralling!!! Worth every penny.

Awesome. This is how a book should work.. I'm a huge fan of Brian Cox's videos, and this app has the same feel, and many HD video excerpts from them. It puts other space learning apps to shame. Buy this -- it's probably the best $7 book you'll ever buy. My only complaint (which knocks off a star) is that there seems to be a bug when selecting content. If I tap on something I want to learn more about (e.g. Venus), it focuses but the content bar never comes up. Or if it does, it shows the last thing it was focused on. The only way I've found to get the appropriate content for an object is to use the search box.

LOVE IT. This game is SO cool you can see so many planets and it looks so cool

Simply amazing for the price. The guy who says he's a teacher must have missed what this app is for. I think this app is for the average user who wants to stimulate their minds and have a little visual pleasure. It also is a great tool for learning and never once expresses that this is a tool for a teacher to teach his ninth grade class. If it were so....I'm sure it would be a bit more in cost than what they are asking. All in all I think this app is amazing for the price. Definitely recommend this app!

Beautifully Made App. Beautiful app....it's absolute perfection. The information is top notch. I'm a huge science fan in general so I'm always trying to stay in the loop, but sometimes the info can be hard to follow and truly grasp. This app simplifies it all and really helped me understand some of the basic elements of physics and chemistry on a whole new level. Thanks for putting the time in to make such a great piece. I only hope more will be added in the future!

This is really amazing!. This app is the most exciting applocation about space and astronomy, yet presenting wonderful facts about the Universe. It features brilliant design of cosmos and a faithful sense of its scale. Music is also amazing. There's only one thing, that made me rate 4-star. That's the iPad 2 compatibility of the app. As a programmer, I think the developers had to use gyroscope of iPad 2 to handle correcting places of celestial bodies after being touched by users, but I would have rated this app the best if I could use it in my iPad Original. Please do something for it. As an author of a book about Reality, I enjoyed this application, thanks to Prof. Cox and the developer team.

Streaming does not work. I used to LOVE this app. It was wonderful when the streaming worked. The streaming seems to no longer work. I was really excited to show my daughter how we know what stars are made of or concepts about time travel when looking at a star. I’ll give it five stars if this gets fixed.

WOW!. I recently came to the realization that I want to major in physics/astronomy. This app is blowing my mind! I already find astronomy text books to be fun/exciting to read; this app takes the learning experience to a whole new level! I've only been exploring for a few minutes and already I can tell I'm going to spend hours and hours having fun with it. The navigation is awesome, the Brian Cox videos are fantastic, the sound, the graphics... love it all. Money well spent! :)

I fixed the sound. Like many others, I downloaded the app and couldn't get sound or anything. I tried the mute button and volume settings, etc. I finally went under settings and changes the side switch button off of rotation lock onto mute. For whatever reason, when my side switch was being used to lock rotation I couldn't get any sound. Once I changed it to control mute, the sound worked. Weird bug, but easy fix. Hope this helps others with the same problem.

Beautiful, entertaining. This app is both entertaining and enlightening, focusing on the "big picture" and doing a superb job of illustrating the current state of our understanding, and what efforts like the search for the Higgs boson mean in terms of our understanding. I found the material to be at a level where it was accessible while still being relevant and interesting to a more educated layperson. I minored in chemistry and found the material to extend my knowledge, so the "educators" who claim the entirety of this app should be common knowledge to a ninth grader is clearly living in an ivory tower. There's a lot to learn from here, for all ranges of education. One addition which might be worthwhile would be links to Wikipedia to allow users to digress into more detail within the application. Overall, this is a fantastic effort, a huge achievement, and a meaningful contribution to science outreach. I hope it's use becomes widespread and that this app continues to evolve.

Beautiful, but slanted.. I give this app five stars because it is so gorgeous. It is, as well, highly informative. But, while all of that is good, it is completely slanted to the view of evolution and the Big Bang theory. Creationism is not an option in this app. I'm able to overlook this fact simply because I believe the app shows the vastness of the universe, and that makes it special to me. How anyone can look at this app and say that this vast Cosmos is a random advent.. believe what you want. “Even evolutionist Stephen Hawking, considered the best-known scientist since Albert Einstein, acknowledges “the universe and the laws of physics seem to have been specifically designed for us. If any one of about 40 physical qualities had more than slightly different values, life as we know it could not exist: Either atoms would not be stable, or they wouldn’t combine into molecules, or the stars wouldn’t form the heavier elements, or the universe would collapse before life could develop, and so on...” (Austin American Statesman, October 19, 1997)” The key word here is "designed".

Do not purchase, videos no longer supported. My 6-year-old loved using this app to discover and learn about space, but one of the primary components of that learning process - watching videos at each location as you explore - no longer functions. It’s such a disappointment to see your child so eager to engage in the learning process only to watch him get frustrated by such a simple thing. Buyers beware: do not purchase, as this app no longer seems to be supported and a core feature of video streaming no longer functions.

SO COOL GET DIS PLZ. You can go inside a proton and see quarks!!! You can go past the local group too!!! plz buy and can u add sub quarks they are in a quark.

Fantastic!. Let me preface this review by saying that Brian Cox is one hell of an intelligent guy. That being said, this app is amazing; mind blowing that is. From the highly detailed photos and videos, to the immerse information, this app redefines all others. It's perfect for showing off your iPad or iPhone. But beyond all that, the education this app provides is far beyond anything anyone could've imagined twenty years ago. Very nice, thanks to all who put this together and made such a unique experience possible to be felt.

Video stream not working. When fixed I will give 5 star.

Breathless Wonder. Awesome. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 as I would love to see Professor Cox engage the reader/watcher with additional content that is more sophisticated. I teach physics and astronomy to talented students at a high school using a on-to-one learning program. I think the current version doesn't have enough depth to keep them fully engaged. The potential to do so is definitely there and I encourage Professor Cox to built on this AWESOME beginning as I believe this app has enormous classroom potential. Don't be scared away by the price. As is, the app is well worth the cost.

Inspiring and immersive way to learn about the physical world. This app provides a truly unique way of learning about the cosmos through written word, images, video and 3D models. I found Brian Cox's explanations gave a brilliant and complete view of our universe while still being delivered in good portions. While at times a bit repetitive, I often found that my next questions were being answered quickly and seemed almost anticipated. The thing that would have allowed me to enjoy the app a little more would be less repetition and a clear view of viewing the content by scale (from sub-atomic particles to the whole universe) or by section (life, solar system, universe).

Excellent. I purchased this app some time ago and through countless decisions on which apps to keep as space runs low, this is one of the few that always remains. The design is very intuitive and the information provided is excellent. Brian presents the complexity of the universe in a straightforward and direct approach and summarizes the details very well. One of the best applications I have seen which blends the content and details in a manner which should appeal to all.

Video does not make this a great app. Well. I have to disagree. I loved the series, buying it on iTunes and have watched each episode several times - marvellous brain-food and superb production. But this app is a very poor substitute and adds little that is new. I also know a bad app when they have to explain how to navigate it - Jobs would've been appalled. Save your money and buy the TV series on iTunes.

Spectacular.... Other developers take note. This is how you build a quality program!! It's that good I'll happily pay for more content. Nice work.

Absolutely stunning. What can I say, this is a masterpiece. Hats off to all parties involved in this project. Runs perfectly on my iPad Air btw.

Streaming?. This is a 5 star app but... There's a problem. Streaming? Owe please don't tell me you did... 😧 I'm shocked. You have. Yes people we have to stream the videos, which means no signal no videos. So much for using app outside away from Wi-Fi or GSM signal. We should be able to choose to download in HD locally to device or stream remotely from server. Another big let down is no bookmarks and no note taking and worse can't get definitions of words. This is a good app, just needs refinements. At last the App has been updated for newer OS and hardware.

As amazing as the subject matter, almost. Wow, what a great app for the iPad. This is the kind of resource that I wish I'd had growing up. Still, better late than never. Highly recommended.

Amazing !. This is why I bought an iPad. Amazing graphics and presentation that allows you to explore and appreciate the wonders of the universe from your armchair.Congratulations to Brian and the developers.

Watch the show instead. I find this app a bit lame, especially when compared to Star Walk. Instead of buying this app, go to the TV Shows section and buy the 4-part TV show. MUCH better.

Love love it!!!!. I have read book and seen the tv. But this one is still a must have! Finally I found myself a best reason to have a New iPad! The animation, the pictures...everything is perfect! Just wanting more from future update.

Why did you break the app?. This used to work and it was amazing but I tried to show it to my 6 year old for the first time and it doesn’t work anymore. I paid money for this app!!

Streaming does not work. Love the concept of the app but I can’t even use it because the streaming of videos does not work. It just says “streaming...l with a loading logo but never loads/streams. I have tried on wifi and mobile data without success. The link to contact the developer just links to the store to buy the wonders of the universe book. Could you please help?

Incredible. Utterly Brilliant! The Best Purchase I've Made. This is by far the most comprehensively educational and valuable app on the App Store. For just $7.50 you get a truly surprising amount of breathtaking content. Stunning videos, photos, info-graphics and fantastic breakdowns of the complex and extraordinary processes that govern our existence. Brian Cox and the team have created a brilliant gem of an app that will make your iPad worth the purchase. This app is marvelously inspirational and even though I have quite an extensive knowledge of the universe and it's workings, I'm still blown away. I've never held such a vast amount of accessible and understandable knowledge in my hands before, that delivers it in such an interactive and engaging way. I find myself showing this to many of my family and friends, both young and old, and watching them become astounded and awestruck with knowledge and wonder. You'll be blown away by the sheer scale of our universe and the incredibly tiny, unique existence we have here on earth. This app is a visual and cognitive feast for anyone; be you an avid stargazer, cosmologist, a curious night watcher or someone who has no knowledge yet of the complex nature of our cosmos. It takes a journey from the deepest atomic level to the vast expanses of our explored universe. We need more apps like this on the App Store; apps that entertain the mind on an entirely new and profound level, not apps that distract the mind from the important things like knowledge with trivial nothings. If you are even considering buying this app, then BUY it. It's truly worth the small $7.50, because knowledge is beyond priceless. A 5-star rating doesn't cut it, not even 10 stars. This app deserves as many stars as there are in existence, so buy it, and discover the value for yourself.

Amazing & inspirational!. This app is stunning! It is not too much money so if you are on the fence definitely purchase it. It really is inspiring to see our place in the universe and the educational content is fantastic!

Disappointing. This app has been badly designed. The video works for a moment and stops on the best one G ram memory iPhone. I like Brian Cox. However this product needs to be redesigned. Dr T Alamar

Nice visuals no obvious way to turn off music. Nice visuals but the music is intrusive and irritating.

Awesome just Awesome. Best app from the new iPad hands down

A truly wonderful app. I hope the developers continue to push the boundaries via future updates. It would be interesting to see how they will take advantage of the new 64-bit architecture of the iPhone 5s and iPad Air! Expecting great things!

Neat app!. So educational with a beautiful interface for my new iPad! I really fell in love with this app. Top job. Hope to see more stuff added. Well worth $7.49 :D

AMAZING!!!. Lots of great content and interface, love it when u zoom out to the very end and get a picture of the entire universe... Kinda gives u an idea of how big it really is :D Definitely worth the money :)

Best app!. Excellent quality! Worth every dollar, unique layout. Making a big geek out if me! Loving it, and all the interesting things I'm learning. Great job

Not for use in Australia. I don't know where the servers that are meant to stream the content for this app are located, but they're certainly nowhere near Australia. This stuttering, sputtering excuse for an app should not be for sale to international customers. Brian Cox, I thought better of you.

Videos don’t stream!. App simply doesn’t work. Videos do not stream making the app fairly useless. Can I have my money back please?

Want more. If you enjoy watching a documentary cut up into 2 minute clips and out of order then you'll enjoy this app. I'd rather just watch the documentary. Nice app though overall.

Mr. I love this app, it's great and I have it for more than a year. Always worked well, but since I changed from an old iPhone (1) to a new iPhone S + the screen does not work properly. Part of the screen inside the wonders of the universe & the solar system are of center, so the images are half cut. There are black spaces all around. Can you please fix it?

10 STARS!!!. Unbelievable...THE best educational app of its kind. Well worth the $7.50 and on the new iPad it only makes it better.

Unfortunate. The fact that the videos in this app stream, and stream so poorly means that I have to slam it with but a single star. The solution is obvious and that is to make the videos downloadable as part of the app.

Does not work on (6 S plus). The display screen with this program on the 6 s plus is faulty and does not fit to the screen. The graphics have shrunk and the rest on the screen is black.

Great app content wise but none of the videos work. My 5 years old loves the interactive interface and amount of content this app has. Since he cannot read and all videos go to just streaming and never run, that is a huge disappointment especially for an app that is paid app.

Great app. Do not get put off this app because of negative comments in other reviews. It works well and presents a lot of great information, just like the TV series. Problems with video streaming occur because of the 'last mile', as it used to be called - if you are on wifi, you should have no problems. If your video stops mid-stream, it may be because you are on a slower mobile/cell link. Don't bag the app, reviewers, bag the telcos. Good value at the price (two cups of coffee). Brian, you're a legend.

Planck Time. So happy that I can put this on my iPhone now. Best educational app in the AppStore! So much fun just checking out all the videos and stuff... Get lost for hours! Looks amazing on iPad and iPhone. Everyone should get this!!! Brian Cox is boss. 5 ^10-33 Stars Planck

Not recommended. The streaming function is so slow that it's pretty much unuseable. It's just a waste of time. A pity.

Brian Cox's Wonders of the Uniqverse. This poorly designed and poorly implemented Very clunky to use Videos run for a few seconds and then stop Extremely difficult to search Poor overview In my opinion the worst app I've purchased

Brilliant. If you're into science then this app is a must have. And if you're not, then just get this app for the breathtaking presentation.

Streaming broken. Used to work, but then developer broke streaming

Oh, what a lovely surprise! It's AMAZING!. Well! No offence, but I really wasn't expecting that. What a delight! The interface is like I've never seen and is, at the very least, inventive and thoughtful. I haven't even looked at much of the content yet but already this earns five stars for being something radically different and beautifully executed. Bravo.

No videos playing, need money back.. I bought this app more than a month ago but since I bought it I haven’t been able to stream any of the embedded videos. And I have tried other networks as well. Only this app seems affected, other apps and video platforms work fine. Something is wrong, and you are not fixing it. Please refund my money!

Nice app but feel ripped off by pricing. I bought this app yesterday on sale at $1.99 and today is .99? Feels like a bait and switch. Believe me, it is not the extra buck i paid that makes me angry but the principal of the thing. Just hate feeling ripped off.

AirPlay Support!. This app is amazing, but the lack of AirPlay support makes it loose its wonder when putting it on a 189" screen in my lecture hall. Please update! 4:3 presentation on such a large screen or any really detracts from it. My fellow teacher feels the same when he uses it on his smart board.

Beautiful!. A must have for anyone who loves to explore the world! I wish I had this when I was a child! I had to be satisfied with atlases!

Love it thanks Brian Cox. Great app buy now

Amazing (for free app). Beautiful images, fascinating content. Well-polished app, but I don't know how much it normally costs (thank you Starbucks), and the amount you might pay is a subjective matter

Just Purchased. A quick run through my favorites and have to say this his one AMAZING App

Wonder of wonders it is!. This is the most beautiful and extraordinary app I have. The breathtaking 3D rendering is just state of the art. One can rotate around galaxies and as one moves the star field behind the galaxy changes perspective..this is not some slide show...this is immersive and utterly palpable. Dr. Cox brings joy and a depth of knowledge to astronomy and whoever did the cinematography is a true artist. It fills one with awe for our own world and others also. There is a huge amount of material in this app and the simplicity of navigating allows one to choose just how to approach it and one can return to any place with a few swipes. It is accurate, in depth, glorious and frankly, I feel privileged to be alive today to have such a treasure in my hands! Congratulations to all concerned. I expect it requires the critical technical brilliance of the iPad to run the realtime computations to make this app dance as it does...it is perfect in all respects and the authors, the software engineers who wrote the app scripts..all deserve honours for it. Dr. Cox deserves most especially my thanks for I have watched much of this on television and his true enthusiasm for this subject is joyous.

Astounding.. When i started from earth and slowly went farther and farther away, I felt a calming. I was in complete awe of the universe. The music is fantastic as well. If anyone finds out the track when you're looking at the Centaurus Great Wall I would be grateful if you shared that information.

Gorgeous app. Beautiful images and wonderful music. The most visually appealing app I have seen so far. And very educational. Very well done.

Amazing!!. This app is great for people who absolutely love space like me!!

Totally informative. This is a great buy, you will get your money's worth!

No sound?. Looks cool but I can't get the sound to work...update!

WOW!!!. Best educational app I have seen!!! Love how they can make you feel so small when compared to the univers!

Looks great...but, no sound.. Not worth the money without fully functioning features.

WOW!!😄😃😀😜😝😛😍😍😍. Amazing app!! Amazing graphics!! Loads of info.... 100 trillion stars from me!! 😜 Highly recommended ... Well worth $6.99 .... Great Job!!

Best educational app. Needs more marketing for support. One of my favourite apps still after 4 years. Best educational app. Needs more marketing for support

Remarkable App. Have you ever listened to someone who easily drew your full attention? Such is the compelling presentation found in the wonders of the universe.

Great app but streaming broken?. I went to watch this again on my iPad but none of the videos seem to stream. I tried it on three different IOS devices, all up-to-date but none of them will stream any video content.

Excellent. Excellent tour of the Universe.

Unbelievable!. Wonders of the Universe is an exceptional synthesis of our current understanding of physics. It explores the realm of subatomic particles all the way our universe as a whole. Narrator Brian Cox is also a great speaker in the short video clips. It's a captivating and informative read that I will not hesitate to read again and again. As a side note. For all those having issues with sounds or who need subtitles for the videos, typically the paragraph following the video reiterates word for word what was said in the video you are not losing any content.

Amazing!. Just an amazing app! The graphics and music are fantastic. Great features and information. Well worth the price.

Amazing. It's a beautifully designed app now fully compatible with newer devices.

Excellent!. Great app that covers everything from the vastness of space, to the tiniest of quarks. With Plenty to read ,watch and marvel at, Well worth the money.

Amazing!!. Thanks Starbucks!! This app is unbelievable! :)

Wow!. This app shows places things and more that are kinda hard to see other places. As I said Wow. Amazing

Brilliant. This is a brilliant app, so much to learn! And even if you just want to look around at spectacular photos this is an app you'll love!

Amazing!. This is by far the most jaw dropping, digitally animated app I have ever purchased. This app is a standalone reason why you purchase an iPad. Smooth animations, vivid detail and mind blowing imagery. Kudos to the dev's of this application

stunning!. absolutely stunning! extremely rich/interactive visuals. needs more info on other galaxies and solar systems tho....

Amazing.. Update: thank you!!! For taking forever to fix your app so I can finally enjoy it on my iPhone. Please update for Apple TV. This should be done as a thank you for taking our hard earned money and doing nothing with the app until now to allow us to enjoy this wonderful app. Short and sweet, probably one of the best apps I have ever purchased and used. If you love space, or curious about it , this app will not disappoint.

Everything in the Universe?. I am curious if the makers of this app will remove all included videos. This will constitute no loss to the quality and experience of the app. No? Unfortunately, this is my position. Without subtitles, I am unable to enjoy the videos, and thus they may as well not exist for me. I wonder, then, if the makers are satisfied that the design of their app constitutes a very different experience for people who require subtitles when there is audio involved. I hope they are not because having subtitles added to this would be immensely good, and I know I will dive headfirst into the app. For now, though... It's an app that includes everything in the Universe except subtitles.

Wonderful app. Beautiful images, really helps you to get an understanding of the universe!

Amazing. Amazing app. Very interesting. The graphics of the universe and stars are very nice. The text is rich and forces you to keep reading and reading ....

Mr.. Simply brilliant app. Shines on the iPad. A wealth of beautiful colourful knowledge stunningly presented. Best $5.99 I have spent in ages. The kids love it too.

Videos are not working. If you fix this problem, it will be a great app

Cool!. Thanks Starbucks. :)

Greatest. I've been looking for a app like this for ages. Thank god Starbucks is awesome. Great pictures and every else in the app is awesome

Videos are not working. Videos are not working.

Spectacular. Im not usually into the "educational" apps, but this tour of the universe is visually stunning, easy to use, and employs hours of interesting educational entertainment.

Amazing, but could use some work!. Amazing content. However I think the interface could use some improvements. When you scroll up to read the text of each section, the blue background makes it look somewhat unprofessional. Also, it takes way to long for the video and text to load, maybe just put the videos onto the iPad for a better viewing experience, instead of streaming it. More video content and interactivity is also going to make this app even better! I hope to see more updates, good job!

Spectacular!. This app majestically illustrates the vast universe that we live in. From the smallest particles all the way up until galaxies and beyond, Wonders shows you new things. It's like being a kid once more and looking up into the sky. Embedded video is very smooth, the text and information is easy to understand and read. Visually, this app takes the cake for any digital book I have ever seen. Get this app. For kids and adults.

Incroyable. Application d'apprentissage de première qualité ! Graphisme incroyable !

Amazing. This is hands down the most interesting app I have ever used. I dont say this often, but thank you starbucks!

Mind blowing!. Definitely worth the price. It's held my attention longer than any other interactive ebook (sorry Al Gore). Great videos and visualizations. The ability to zoom from quarks to galactic clusters is cool enough, but I found myself staying up late reading about quarks. Maybe it's because Brian Cox is an amazing hybrid of Carl Sagan and Davey Jones?

Stunning on the new iPad. If you bought a new iPad, buy this. It looks great an the new screen and the content is immersive... and fascinating. This is the kind of app we couldn't have imagined five years ago.

Wow. Just wow !!. Amazing. I wonder why this app is available as an app and not as as a book. It should be in iBooks store. Nevertheless, an amazing app, graphics are amazing... Must have specially on the new iPad. A must for space lovers. Pls add full screen view via AirPlay.

It's okay. The zooming in and out of space when you select a topic is cool, though it just feels like a gimmick. And the videos on each topic (which was what interested me the most) were only 1-2 min long. Every time I think he's about to talk about something interesting... the video ends. Everything else is just information for you to read. There aren't that much topics either. To me its kinda expensive for what it offers.

Excellent App from Astronomers and Fans of our Universe. This is an excellent app for learning about the universe. Very well designed and seeded with video content from the series. I have shared this with astronomers and general fans of space and they have all enjoyed it.

Greatest App Of All-Time. I'm the last person you'll find writing a review but I had to after I came across this app. This is what an iPad app is all about; easy navigation, high resolution imagery, excellent visual interpretations, fantastic sound, and enriching narration by Brian. Well done!

Proofread it, please. After all the hype, great graphics and obviously a lot of effort, proofread this thing please! "Higgs Bosen"? Really? It's not like there are volumes and volumes of text here. The search for the Higgs BOSON is such a current topic, that I was disappointed after my first few minutes with the app to find, right in the fist section "subatomic", that such a glaring typo was made not once, but twice in a single caption. I hope the rest of this app is better quality information, and not just pretty graphics.

I thought the sound was missing - it wasn't.. My new iPad has its mute button on the side next to the volume. I must have pushed it to mute when I was trying to raise the volume. The app works just fine and what a trip! Great way to learn.

My Favorite App. This is my review ever. I am so compelled to as a result of this wonderful app! The 3D fly thru, info graphics, short videos and narratives are captivating. My 8 year old daughter really enjoys this app as well. I am looking forward to exploring it more when I get some down time - next vacation. Thank you!!!

Simply Great. I got this via Starbuck's free app card and it is simply amazing. Both myself and my 5 year old son have had hours of enjoyment and education together. Even though it was free, I'd gladly pay the full price if I had to. Just an excellent app in all regards.

10 stars. Awesome!!! Well done! I'm glad I bought this app. Great interactivity, videos and pictures. Very educational, never seen anything like this. If you have any interest in science at all I think you would enjoy and appreciate this.

13jekyll. This is a good app. It provides lots of interesting information. There are some things, however, that don't get a result when I search them. There are no videos about black holes, blue supergiant stars, and probably nothing at all about the core of the Andromeda galaxy. Also, I can't access the videos when I don't have Internet access, and the app would be a great deal better if I could.

Absolutely Fantastic App. This app is simply fantastic. I have just about all of the space apps and this one has about ten times their combined curated content and visuals. It's worth 5 times what I paid and my three year old loves to watch me play through the videos and we are both huge neutron star fans.

Absolutely Brilliant!. Amazing that this is now on my iPad and I can take people on a tour of the known universe... If it were a $100 app it would still be worth it for the mechanics of exploring the universe alone, all the additional content is bonus. How in the world did they not have Brian Cox host the new Cosmos series?

Fantastic app! It even supports AirPlay!. The quality of the photos and videos is amazing. Being able to send the videos to an Apple TV makes it easy to share the videos with my kids. I've seen a few of the TV shows with Brian Cox and this app expands on the information in interactive and enjoyable ways. Well done!

well worth the $. you get so much info here its really a steal at 7 dollars. it even has cool background music when you are browsing between sections. it will take a WHILE to see/read the whole app, and then ill probably just want to start over and go through again and again.

For Independently Curious Minds. This app can be used in several ways. 1. Visually zoom around the solar system, Galaxy, and universe. Tap things to learn more 2. Go section by section and learn about macro level stuff like the universe all the way down to atoms and even sub-atomic particles. The app has beautiful images, helpful diagrams, and mediocre videos. You'll likely have the most fun by zooming around our solar system and learning about all the planets and moons. I didn't go to school for physics or astronomy, business actually. But I love space and, as a result, have learned to love physics. This app was a great opportunity to revisit basic physics and grasp the most micro scale building blocks of our lives

Pretty, but.... Fans of Brian Fox will go for this. However I found it to be extravagant in visuals but short in science. I get bored watching Brian tell us how wonderful everything is and find that in each segment he falls short of explaining the science behind the pretty pictures. Perhaps he is trying to reach an audience that can only work at the fluffier levels. He is not Carl Sagan but we should give him a few points for trying.

Maybe more than I expected. With high expectations, I was still still impressed with and pleased by this app. Might be one of the more expensive apps I've purchased and it is worth it, and then some.

Nice except wifi required. I have a great connection but the video is not local and the stream is really slow. I don't like this design for apps like this, no offline video. And what happens when the source of the video goes away? Otherwise very nice, just wish I could watch it without waiting Oh yes, badly in need of a bookmark function!

Well done. This is an awesome app, very informative, well designed, wealth of information , well done and well worth the money, the new update made it even better which I didn't think it was possible. Thank you for this great app

Wow.. Just, wow. This is just absolutely amazing. It's worth every last cent. I honestly consider myself to be an above average scientifically literate person, and yet I find I'm learning left and right. (Which of course is a good thing!) Not to mention… I don't think I've ever seen graphics of certain star animations done half as well as they are on this app. [By that, I mean that if you have a Retina Display iPad — you'll see space (photos, videos, or rendered) so stunningly better than you ever have on an HDTV, that you'll just gape at the screen the first time you notice the difference.] You know you love science, that's why your here. It's worth it, I promise. Just get it already.

Amazing!. This is a gorgeous app, completely mind blowing and so well detailed. Could use a little easier navigating with our solar system, such as the Solar Walk app, but otherwise it opens your mind for it to understand how big the universe really is.

Great but needs offline video. I love the app. Very nice polished presentation and interesting content. My major gripe is that there appears to be no way to download the video segments to view offline. Since my wifi is painfully slow it is impractical to view any videos. Would love to be able to download videos for offline viewing.

Breathtaking!. This app is absolutely gorgeous. It is a must-have for those that love outer space. My only wish is that this app had true 3D navigation like Star Walk. Then it would be the best universe app bar none.

Wonders of the Universe. This is visually stunning and intellectually delightful. Complex science is presented in beautiful and readily understandable ways. The presenter uses a charcoal-tipped stick with stones and the ground to illustrate planetary motions that confounded astronomers for centuries. Even my dog was transfixed by the images when I played this via Apple TV on a HDTV and Bose Sound system.

I'm in love. Totally amazing a trip around the world of a life time. this app is history in the making turning old school books Into something everyone of all ages will enjoy. I love this amazing and thank you apple and Starbucks for the weekly gifts ...

Gorgeous. As a huge enthusiast of astronomy and astrophysics, I have many space-related apps, and this one is my new favorite. Terrific interactive content, beautiful animations and transitions, and great information. This is a wonderful companion to the fantastic series. Dr. Brian Cox is amazing in this series, and I look forward to more of the same in future projects. Well done!

Beautiful...simply Beautiful. This app is the most delicate app I have ever seen. Some apps look like they had been made by monkeys, but this one is so well-done I can't soak up enough of it. The gorgeous graphics and incredible facts... Love it! One thing though, where's Pluto? Sure it may not be a planet, but there are moons on here, why not Pluto? :)

Excellent app.. I love this App. Everything about this app is awesome .. Including the software itself , navigation though the app, graphics , right level of information , great explanation by Brian cox .. Worth every single penny .. :) . I am buying an iPad just for this app .. U have gone through all the information almost 7 times..

Breathtaking… 🌘☀⭐🌏. I have a awesome time using this app. It taught me very much about our universe, atoms, black holes. You name it! "To infinity, and beyond!!!! 😉 Two thumbs up for sure!!!! 👍👍 you will love it! It is definitely perfect for people who are curious about what our universe really is, and every question you could think of (about space, of course!) will be answered. Have fun!

Could use an update but it's good. Ive had the app for a week or so and am about halfway through all the parts. Some parts need to be updated like the end of the how stars are created section. It sets you up like its about to tell you something else but it just ends. Parts like this make it seem incomplete. Please update.

Spectacular. I don't write many reviews for apps, I'm a pretty black/white, 1 or 5 kind of guy. This app is a 5, through and through. Of ALL the textbooks, demos, books, etc out there for the iPad, this one is the ONE. This is the future of how stuff should be. This is the Star Trek future right now, on our iPad!

Shows off what learning tools can be. This is a great app for the iPad. Because it takes advantage of the intuitive touch screen and gives your beautifully integrated videos and images. Brian cox fans shouldn't miss this either because he is everywhere in this app.

Internet connection required for videos. Beautiful app, indeed. Lots of information and pictures, however if you have a slow internet connection, it will take a long time to go through the video footage. I have a 64gb ipad. Why not make a version which includes the video data for those with the space? Or include an in app download that will store it.

One of a few must-have apps. This is one of the few must-have apps out there. It doesn't get any better on the new iPad. Stunning graphics; intriguing text; a good narrative – all make for one of the best apps ever to be offered. For less than the cost of one movie ticket, one can have hours of fascinating entertainment and enlightenment.

Not worth the money. This app has less info than wikipedia and you could get more pictures on google images for free. A simple search engine is more useful and entertaining than this app. They should drop the price down too $0.99. Its an ok app, they're just selling you an experience you could find elsewhere for free. Honestly, I wish I hadn't bought this app. Too bad Apple doesn't do refunds.

Very nice for what it shows!. This is an awesome app and shows us more then any other! With that said it still bothers me that we only get to see what the government allows us to see. There are billions of galaxy's out there and yet this app only let's us look at two of them! I really hope they keep adding more to this app!

Wondering? Why I spent 5 dollars on this?. When this 5 U.S.D. App. Worked, it was very good. However, after updating it recently it will not download...I contacted the developer with no response....Non-existent customer service. Last time I spend 5 U.S.D. On an app. Qapla'---UPDATE..Back to a Five Star rating...Apparently,after my One Star review this Wonderful App magically reinstalled. I wonder who or what was observing the app store? Truly a Qapla'

Probably would enjoy it if..... I would be able to see some of the photos. I have searched everywhere to try and get support but no luck. I feel I should be able to see some of the photos on my iPad Air but all I get is blank slots where the photos are supposed to go. I do get the videos but not the photos. For $5.99 I expected a flawless app but I also cannot find support to get this issue taken care of. 2 stars for now.

Video. Seems like a great application. However, it would have been nice if they made it clear that all of the video is loaded on demand, rather than with the application. I was looking forward to loading this application and then viewing it at a location away from WiFi access. Unfortunately, that doesn't work - the application seems to require a WiFi connection to view the videos.

Exceptional!. Even if you've always thought the universe is both daunting and awe-inspiring, this app makes casual learning and exploring easy and enjoyable. I can't think of a better way to spend $7. Cheers!

Maneuver improvements needed.. Repeated irritation when you manouver between planets and such you keep getting the info on how to use and the credits everytime you, by mistake, press once on the screen while browsing. The time it takes for the simulations between the "sights" to finish gets boring very quickly when what you're trying to do is see as much as possible of the beautiful surroundings in our universe. Update and solve this pleace :-)

Fantabulous!. Finally an app worthy of my iPad! This is aces above any app I've seen so far, and begins to touch on the potential of ios5. While admittedly this is not a full physics course (some have criticized as much) this is a wonderful classroom tool, as well as just plain beautiful to explore by itself. You make science very cool. Bravo Dr Cox & team!

Best App Ever. I have acquired a large number of apps over the years. This app is without a doubt the best I've ever experienced. I have already let my kids and grandchildren know about it. What a fantastic way to show the immensity and complexity of our universe.

Highly informative. I've only finished the subatomic and atomic sections and if the rest are anything like it then I will thoroughly enjoy it. It's sadly disappointing that people's opinions, religious or otherwise, are being used as a basis for judging an interpretation of the formation of the universe. An interpretation that is thoroughly tested and evaluated and constantly changing.

Big fan. I raced through just to watch the videos and look at pictures, and those by themselves are great. Skimmed through some of the text, but what I read was also engaging. Navigation can take some getting used to -- seems a bit slow, and a few times the app wandered in a direction I didn't want it to. I look forward to exploring it further.

Brian Cox at his best.... This is an awesome App, and is made for the New iPad, but it is even better, using Air Play on a big screen for the video content. I have the book and could have saved some money if this App at been available. This is an easy 5 star and hope to see more Apps this good!

Amazing with the new iPad. Wow! Amazing app with retina display graphics. Teaches you so much. Navigation of the app is great and intuitive. One of the best, if not the best educational apps on the iPad. I wish more apps could be like this one. Definitely buy it you will not regret it.

No Audio - Tried suggested fixes. I can't get audio playing the app. I have the volume up, the rotation switch turned off (why it should affect audio when set to control rotation I'm not sure), and restarted. It looks to be a beautiful app, but without audio (new iPad), it's a let down. I hope it's fixed soon, but as it stands I paid for an app that doesn't work.
