Moon cast. Works ok but didn’t give me an icon so when I want to open it I have to go to the App Store, search for Mooncast and open from there. So very inconvenient!

Fantastic. I love this. Just knowing the moon is out there doing things makes me wonder more. Can't explain this. Much different than knowing the weather. I think back to ancient ancestors. Their relationship to the moon. And ahead to . . . ? It's more secret than the sun. I can share some of its secrets. So glad for this app.

Does one thing, and very well.. Okay, it's a one-trick pony, but it does that trick so well. It shows you the phase of the moon and gives you dates of full and new moons. It also lets you set dates and see the moon phases. If that's what you're looking for, that's what this does. Phase illustration is quite nice.

Moon phases make people crazy…. I love this app! As one who works with the public, it’s important to know when a New/Full moon is approaching. Call me crazy, but for some reason, the day or two before (or sometimes after), people are much harder to deal with. It’s good to know ahead of time what I’m in for!

Clean Simple Easy. I bought this app because it's simple & easy. I'm not interested in Lore or Horoscopes or all that other stuff. Just want the dates, time and % illumination: past, present & future. The black and white photos of the moon are beautiful.

Beautiful and Accurate. I love this App! I use it regularly. You get details about the major lunar phases along with high resolution images to reference the shape of all of the lunar phases. Bonus: it works on my apple watch to quickly access the current moon stage, new moon, full moon et al. You can even set a compilation to view the moon on the home screen. Highly recommend.

Helpful for cleansing!. Love the musical signals for full/new moons. Detoxing is easy during the new moon; difficult during the full moon. Helps me to know that!

I check everyday as I am a Witch. As I am a witch I need to know everyday what stage the moon is in and when certain days are coming up for spells. Its easy to use and always correct. I love this one and deleated 2 others. LadyRosePowers

Infinite dates, useful alarms. What's good about this moon app is that it is infinite - it won't run out of dates like another moon app I used. Being able to set an alarm (Wolf Howl) 3, 2, &/or 1 days ahead as well as on the full &/or new moon is very useful to me.

Only one thing.. Please add the calendar per month, where you see the evolution of the moon.

Widgets. I bought just for widgets and not where does it allow the installation even though the purchase description says it does. If I’m doing something wrong or I can use widgets after correcting I will change my review. After being advised on how to use widgets properly it works great. Some type of instructions with app could of been helpful. Thank you for your quick reply.

Painful Periods Begone!. I am SO grateful for this app! I sought the help of an acupuncturist to help me with painful periods. After reviewing my health history she shared a number of observations, and the first was that my menstrual cycle was not aligned with the cycles of the Moon. She started me on a regimen of seed cycling, and to stay on top of that (among staying on top of, what I now call my Moonstral Cycle), I have been using the Mooncast app. Identifying the dates of the New Moon and the Full Moon is a cinch and happily today I can report that my hormones have balanced with the timing of the seeds and now my cycle is aligned with the Moon and my periods are relatively effortless! Thank you Mooncast!

Used a long time & love this app. This app is really perfect for me. It’s elegantly simple and intuitive, and allows me to easily see a range of future or past moon cycles for whatever date i wish quickly, and that i can scroll through. If you wish to have full and new moon alerts, the wolf howl chime is a really nice touch….and it’s one i definitely hear! I also like how the app names the moon phase and the % illumination of any particular date of interest including the current date. This is the one moon app i use regularly, as it is kept informative yet brief sticking to the basics - not astrology or anything like that.

I love this app. I love this app very informative on the phases of the moon. Since I believe in the effect it has on the earth and people I like to keep up with what stage the moon is in. If you love stars, night sky, and milky way this is a good way to know what our beautiful moon is up to.

Disappointing. Yes not suited to ones global position. Ie southern/morthern hemisphere. Also dates of full moon is out.

Needs localisation. Nice, simple app, but the graphics are wrong for the southern hemisphere. Would be good to have a hemisphere setting, so could flip the graphic so it looks correct.

Wrong Hemisphere. Works a treat. Pity I'm in the wrong hemisphere. When it says it works well in all locales, it should say all locales in the Northern Hemisphere. Update the description to reflect this.

Calendar improvements needed. The calendar reminders are too limited for my needs. You can only set reminders for full or new moon, either one or two days prior to the event. More flexibility to set reminders on various days is what I was looking for. The location issue is fine for me, as phases are correct for my location in Tasmania, Australia. Reviews are not displaying when you purchase the app which is a big trap!

Simple Fun. This is not a terribly informative app, but does what it says. It is fun to watch the moon's illumination percentage change and be reflected on the iPad. I love to know when the next full or new moon is, so this is helpful even though it doesn't specialize in new moon info- I just need to look for 0% illumination. You can also go forward or backward in time to see what the moon was like on a particular day which I love to do too. Cool app overall, thanks.

Needs more. There's not a single lunar app on the App Store that pushes reminders at the exact start and end time of a lunar phase and this app is no exception. Review will be updated to 5 stars once I have the ability to schedule alarms for the start and end of specific lunar cycles. For example if the start of a full moon is at 4:09PM an alarm should sound. The user should be able to stipulate what events they receive notifications for. For example full moon, new moon, blue moon, black moon etcetera. Currently this app only allows the user to select what time on the day of a full moon they receive an alert. For example on the day of a full moon starts at 5:11PM the user would receive a notification at 9:00AM or any other time the user selects. Why not have a setting that is for "full moon start" and another for "full moon end". Have that option for all phases so the user can select which phases they want to be notified for. If your going to make such a specific app why not make it the best... Design and layout is perfect but looks aren't worth a damn without functionality.

If you love the moon you will love this App. I really like to visualize when the full moon is coming. I use it when planning parties, they're always best right before a full moon :)

Straightforward & simple. Works well.. Go to a particular date, or swipe your finger right or left to go forward or back one day at a time. Set a reminder for the full moon or new moon. Looks great on my iPad's retina display. Just be careful viewing the full moon if you have lycanthropic tendencies. Arrroooooo!

Location Location LOCATION. The app, in its simplicity, misses the (moon)-viewer's LOCATION -- meaning that the moon crescent, as depicted in the app, will not appear vertical-upright to a viewer, say in Newport Vermont, and again in a different angel to a viewer, say in Key West Florida; or in the extreme to viewers on the North Pole, on the Equator and on the South Pole (indeed viewers of a given Southern Hemispher Latitude will see the crescent mirror imaged compared to the view on the same given Northern Hemispher Latitude! -- isn't it? -- of course it is). Possibly the moon crescent's angel may also be determined by other additional celestial factors.

Does one thing and does it very well. I like this app a lot. Nice graphics, works with the Apple Watch, works with widgets, and even has a fun alarm to remind you of the full moon.

Straight to the point. If you want to know percent of illumination and days to/from the next full moon, this is your no-distractions app. For more info (and distractions), I use Deluxe Moon Free. The two apps give different illumination percentages, though--not sure which is correct. Mooncast could probably add a calendar view at some point.

Elegant!. Really elegant, streamlined app. Easy to use and very flexible. I like the reminders feature for new and full moons. Nice to be able to flip through days and see the moon change. One request: can you add a way to hide all icons on screen so I can see *just* the lovely photo of tonight's moon? Thanks for making Mooncast free on AppsGoneFree!

Love this moon app. It's like calendar style with a sweet looking moon in different phases depending on the date. It would be extra✨cool tho, if it could tell us which moon phase is was ie. waning or waxing gibbous and what not.. just a thought otherwise love this app 🌙

Some errors. Come on this app is ok at best, must not take much to please some people. There are some time issues some am pm issues etc. This app has some potential but needs some work. Fix them and I will upgrade my rating.

Just the moon phase. Fantastic app that just tells me what I want - without a lot of extra stuff that just gets in the way ==> what the moon looks like today (or the day you choose), when the last and next full moons are, and a reminder if you want one.

Moon Calendar. As a lifelong moon watcher, I am always caught by the Full Moon. With this app, we can plan a trip,to Florida east coast to watch a moonrise. Thanks so much. Have to wait until August full mood before the Turtles who come ashore to lat their eggs. Love this app!

Moon Names. I like this app but I would like to see the moons named; Hunter moon, worm moon, etc.

Elegant & Easy-to-Use. I am a designer, and finding a moon phase app that was well designed and easy to use was very difficult to find. I downloaded all of the moon apps, even paying for many of them, and this one is above and beyond my favorite. I also paint moon murals, and I use this app for every one! I love the large graphic and the alert option of having a wolf howl before the new moon or full moon. Lovely, lovely app! So glad I found this one. I deleted all the others.

Simple and all that I needed. Other apps include far too much information for me and cost way too much, so I was so happy to see an app that just let me know the basics in a basic way. But nicely finished and looks very good.

Nice moon phase widget for Notification Center!. I'd like to see a compact widget, maybe about half the height of the current one, for those of us with lots of widgets to manage. Also Moon rise and set times in the widget would be great!

The Best Ever!. I am a commercial fisherman and moon signs are the key to catching fish consistently. I have used other moon phase calendars, but this is by far the best. A must for the hunter and fisherman. Easiest to use as well!

Good app, but needs a couple features. This app is perfect for finding out when the next full or new moon is. It also shows you exactly how much moon you will see on any given day (including today). The two critical features missing are: 1) It only shows the moonrise time for the next full moon or new moon. As a photographer, I would like to know the moonrise (and setting) time on any given day (and from any location - see next point). 1) It needs the ability to specify some other location other than my current location. Then if I plan on being in another location on a specific date I could find out when the moon (at any size) will rise & set there.

Moon phases are important to any angler !. The moon phase has a great effect on the tides. It is important to know if the moon is "Waxing" or if the moon is "Waining" This app. gives me the tool I need to keep in phase with the moon cycle ... I say four star app. For sure , three thumbs up from me ......

Complication. I got because I thought it would show the current phase of the moon in the complication not either the full moon or new moon and time.

Love it, but not quite perfect. I truly love this app. It can even be integrated into an iPhone's pull-down menu to view the current phase. However, I would like to see the current phase listed on the app (i.e. Waxing Gibbous, etc.)

Reminds me to howl at the moon. Slick little app that shows the lunar cycle including a calendar of full & new moons. The main feature, perfect for urbanites like me, let's me set a notification for full or new moons (wolf howl, Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata or iTunes library)

Frustrated. Love having the info available! Working the evening shift I am not often awake at 9 AM and therefore the notification kept waking me up. I went into the settings and changed the time so that the notification would alert me at 11 AM. This morning the notification again woke me at 9 AM. I double checked the settings, and it IS set for 11AM, so the error was NOT mine.
