Meteogram for iPhone App Reviews

Old design was gorgeous infodesign. I used to use this over and over as an example of how infodesign should be done. Now the cloud info and precipitation amount is obscure, everything is pale and hard to read and the number glow is just awful. Who did this?!? This used to be so beautifully clear and ALREADY OS7 -like.

Inspired!. This clever app is the best weather tool yet. With one glance it tells you everything. No confusion, no clutter, no mental parsing. Tap and hold anywhere for details. Easy. Clean. The 'cloud cover' layers are genius. Their presence make the rest of the display especially intuitive. Together everything just makes sense. I'll decide after spring rains have passed, but so far the "cloud cover" info has eliminated my need for a traditional radar view. The wind vectors showing magnitude and direction are much more meaningful than traditional "8mph SSE" displays. Personally I'm interested in barometric pressure, and I appreciate that I could assign it to a second line in landscape view. The app is stable. No crashes -- some of the other weather apps can't seem to figure that out. This app takes very little time to update compared to the other weather apps. I don't hesitate to use it because it is quick. So far the data has been accurate in the SF Bay Area. This app is so unlike other apps I wonder how the developers will be enhancing it over time. This app could start a trend. I agree with other comments; one thing I would appreciate is a short section on the left side of the chart devoted to the -actual- weather data reported for the previous 12 or maybe 24 hours. Flick the chart to reveal historical data, flick back to hide it. It should appear continuous (seamless) with the forecast data. This app has made it to my home screen. I'm conservative about commenting on apps. In this case, I think it should be featured for its simple yet innovative display.

Simple, clear, beautiful. I have a habit of collecting weather apps. Different ones have different strengths. Meteogram excels at presenting a clear and useful multi-day forecast, and with a very nice sense of aesthetics.

Meteogram Simplifies Weather!. This app presents the weather forecast in a simple and continuous format. The informatics are concise and effective. Finally, I have found the weather app I have been searching for! Opportunities for improvement: - It takes some time to understand what the chart is showing. One alternative is to consider a sample chart in an FAQ with callouts to highlight what is shown where: such as time of day, wind direction, wind speed, rainfall, sunrise (I assume that is when the background goes from grey to white?), etc. Only after using the app for a while was I confident I understood what I was seeing. - Consider adding tick lines for ever hour and not just the hours listed on the axis. I don't remember how many hours are between ticks and end up thinking it out each time, another intuitive hurdle. - Consider freezing the vertical axis what in vertical mode and scrolling.

Accurate and Intuitive. I find the forecasts are very accurate. The chart format is very intuitive. You can see when rain hits throughout the day, when temperature rises and so on. Clean and simple.

Excellent UI!. Great app with fantastic presentation of so much information at a glance. My go-to app for sailing wx forecasts!

Best weather forecasting app!. I use this app daily. It does an excellent job at forecasting precipitation compared to all the other weather apps available.

Awesome weather app.. Great way to see the hourly forecast for all around the world. One of my early purchased apps and still one of my favorites. It's been a while since it was updated but everything works great! On the table page sunrise and sunset shows up after a delay at the bottom. I'd like that to stand out more, have Moonrise and Moonset. With the phase of the Moon too :) Problem - It's hard to know which foreign cites are in the database...

Not Accurate. Not sure where they get their data but I have monitored multiple locations served by on site wx reporting (airports) and this application doesn't even come close to being accurate with current or forecast. The app will show clear conditions and light winds when the current and past 24 hours actual has been 40kt winds and overcast conditions.

Surprise!!. This is not like any other weather app I use. I still use three. The basic iOS weather, wunderground and meteo. This is wonderful because of the customizable features. I added humidity and am very happy then with, cloud cover, temperature, wind and rain that it shows at a glance. It is simply beautiful to look at. So why the others? Weather does a quick job. Answering the umbrella or shorts question? Wunderground is good for searching places I am going to not just where I am and also digging a little deeper. Pollen anyone? This one I choose when I really want to get an accurate picture of the weather for say an endurance bike ride or hiking or simply impressing people who haven't seen it. So why title this review surprise? Because I am surprised that there are any reviews less than four stars for this slick looking, sniper accurate info source.

Not compatible with iOS 16+. Crashes on opening screen when trying to set locations. Too bad, since the dev’s WeatherMap+ is so useful (though even more out-of-date).

App not ready for prime time. Interesting app for weather, but not ready for prime time. Doesn't scale correctly on the iPad or iPod touch...a portion of the screen is cut off. Press the prefs button and the app crashes. So no way to change to F° from C°. Fix the basic problems and you might have something......

Just the right balance. So, so many weather apps on the App Store...this one nails it. Scannable, with a clear selection of useful details but never frustration at a lack of information. (I do use another app for weather radar.)

Every day.. Seems to be more reliable than all other apps, websites or tv which is odd since it uses the same data from the closest NWS. I use the cloud cover info for photography.

Brilliant. Clear and accurate presentation of the weather information. I especially appreciate the rainfall forecasts Updated version is very smartly designed--just like this developer's other applications. Clear, informative graphs show the weather information well. There is a good bit packed onto the screen, but the option for a bigger font is a welcome addition added by an extremely responsive developer. Meteogram and WeatherMap are two of the best weather apps available.

Nice app. Logical, informative layout.

Good presentation but limited compared to iPad. Unlike the iPad version you can only see the next two days instead of the next five. Weather data only generally correct (for central Texas). Love the interface, don't appreciate how much it nagged me for my review (seemingly every time I use the app). Also it always shows the future, never 'now'. It's 6:45pm and the app starts with 8pm.

Elegant. It's simple, direct, and quick. Very logical and easy to read. And for some reason it's extremely accurate. Very Tufte concise, elegant display.

Graphical Forecast Rulz. I keep coming back to this app as my favorite way to get a weather forecast.

Good...needs update. The app is original and beautifully displayed. Very unique and a nice way to view the weather. However it is inaccurate. Yesterday it forecasted 61 and it got to 77 (NORTH HAVEN, CT). Everyday it under predicts the high and in the Winter it is colder than what it forecast. When it predicts rain it snows during winter. I have contacted the app creator and he quickly responded to tell me that he might get new data providers for the forecasting. When that update comes this app will easily have my 5 stars.

Need bifocals. Particularly in the portrait view, the fonts are now very small.

Great graph-based Wx forecast. While this type of forecast visualization will not appeal to everyone, I find it works great to plan outdoor activities in the next few hours/days.

Detailed wind speed removed. Why did you remove the hourly wind speed forecast? This was the reason I purchased this app?

Nice but. It would be better with at least a day or two of historical data.

Pretty decent. Excellent use of infographics to show the upcoming forecast. The scaling could be improved when iPhone is vertical. Also, some more emphasis on the current temperature would be nice. I find myself going back the the Weather Channel app whenever I want more details about the next 3-6 hours.

Graphic Bliss. I have over a dozen weather apps, but this is where I go for a quick notion of the near-term forecast.

Interesting. It's interesting to see the forecast in this graphical view. Suggestion: I wish it allowed you to see the previous few days or the past week in this same graphical view so you could get an actual record of the high temperatures, precipitation, wind speeds etc. This would give you a bigger picture of the weather trends.

Wonderful way of seeing the weather. lowered review: ton of tracking you can't disable and no privacy policy This is my preferred weather app, but I'm still getting used to the iOS 7 update. The help page 404's but I still found a few nice additions. You can swipe back and forth to change between your saved locations. You can zoom to get a weekly graph or detailed daily graph. This is a welcome change. The ability to cycle through the different overlays, such as humidity, wind, etc is gone. There seems to be settings for pressure and dew point lines. ***I would like the precipitation amounts to come back on the graph***. I used the numeric values at specific times to gauge if I would ride my bicycle for instance. Clouds were better before. The new daily summary below the graph is kind of lame (just like every other weather app). The point of this wonderful app is NOT to be that. I don't want to know the daily low (probably at 5am), I want to know what the temperature will be when I get home. I don't want to know we will have rain sometime in this 24 hours, I want to see what hours it will rain and how much. Other than that, keep up the good work. This is still the best weather app.

Nothing Better. I have used probably every weather app in the app store, and this one has always been my favorite. Not only super-accurate (thanks to forecast.io), it fills the middle ground between beautiful but stupidly simple and, on the other extreme, truly wonky stuff for meteorologists. I have to admit, I was worried that it would never be updated after languishing for a long time. But that's all history now, as the new update brings efficient use and the great-looking feel that you expect with iOS 9. Spend some time with it. There's a lot more there than you realize, so tap around here and there and see what you can discover in the best app for weather in the app store. Enjoy.

The only weather app on my home page! (And I’ve tried them all.). Takes data from yr.no and presents *only* its category-leading meteogram. It adds tweaks, such as Fahrenheit. The new version adds fabulous additional infographics — brilliantly done, although it’s hard to learn all the features (settings, where to tap, etc.). This is its Achilles heel: *NO* instructions are available, and the developer does not respond to email, so you'll need to figure it all out on your own. But once you do, it’s fabulous! And well worth the effort.

In my professional opinion, this and the iPad version are the best weather apps we've yet seen. They depict the four-dimensional nature of weather systems in an intuitive manner. Information content is complete, and graphics are genius. A full five stars!

Great Weather App. I use this app daily in California and more recently in France, Germany and Austria. It's fantastic. The website is pretty cool too, to put it mildly. Great, great app.
