Great app only tried 2 others. I have used this since I started running in 2015. Elite version. Love it won’t run without my iphone. One wish list item would like if the routes could learn compare “looks like route x after a run” so it would compare without me trying to remember which route name I used etc. instead of new route every time

Confusing interface, keep it simple!. I appreciate the attempt to pack millions of features into an app, but it has to be the most confusing user interface I’ve ever seen in an app. The free version doesn’t let you do much at all, but all the paid features are there anyways waiting to let you click on a nag screen. If I’m frustrated enough to throw the phone at passing road signs while testing the free version, I’m sure as heck not going to dive deeper and pay for a premium version. Sorry, I’m deleting it and moving to something else.

The Anchor of My Marathon Training. It is exactly ten years since I started using RM to record 16,925 running miles and many additional miles on my bike. I love its interface, data and ability to share data with other programs, notably Strava. It is a joy to compare my training and race evolution over time. For better or worse, I barely take a training step without RM.

Problems constantly. Runmeter is the most advanced running app. But if you do anything with your phone or watch other than Runmeter you’ll have some problems. If you like music on your runs, fahgetaboutit. It just doesn’t work as intended nor ever consistently. Simply put, I’ve been working with Runmeter for 6 years now. Two years ago I gave up exclusive use and stopped depending on my running mates to forward me their workouts for correction. It just never really worked. Since growing up and getting a Garmin device, I can at least use that and still use Runmeter to compare. I like that Elite will log weather data. But when your running app doesn’t do anything but the tertiary Wx logs, it isn’t really a “run meter” at all. I’d say 4 years of hard work to make this thing work is enough. If you just run and just use your phone to run Runmeter, *maybe* your mileage will vary. Good luck. You’ve been warned.

Runmeter motivating and modifiable.. Great for the data driven. Pairs with my Wahoo heart rate strap. The premium service is a bargain and we’ll worth the price. Most importantly, I can make custom work outs. I love to run intervals and I can set up interval runs of various time or length segments. I can choose what announcements I get and when. My only complaint is that it would be nice to be able to set up multiple repeats. I can set up a run 1 min/walk 30 sec x10 workout easily, but if I wanted to follow that by a 30/30 x10, I would have to set the whole thing up manually (doable, but tedious). I’ve been using this app for years. I love it. I find it amazing that I’m the only one who ever mentions it in my running groups. Highly recommended.

Quality. Price-quality-support 👍🏼 Been here for about 7 years. My wish list would be to have a search bar for history and routes. As well as some kind of downloadable activity map with all the places I’ve been.

Outdated watch options. Have used all three apps for over 6 years so have enjoyed what they offer. I have never minded the yearly fee for the three apps. I figure a fee gets you continued development. That said hear we are with the Apple Watch 4 coming in a week and still no stand alone support for the watch. As phones have gotten bigger I have been wanting to leave it home. At this point if they do not announce stand alone support at least coming by December I will spend December testing other apps and move on for the first time in over 6 years.

Been using it for 7 years and still loving it.. As a data junkie, Runmeter let’s me analyze individual runs as well as trends over time. It’s nice that the Watch app has been untethered from the iPhone but since I don’t have a Apple Watch with a cell connection, I always take my phone with me anyways so my wife can track where I am. Well worth the upgrade cost to the pro version.

Meh-support nonexistent. Update: I have tried twice to contact support and the emails have bounced back. Very frustrating. It has a ton of features that it’s impossible to know them all and a bit complicated to figure out. One of the biggest features that I liked no longer works. It used to post to Facebook when I was on a run and then read me all the likes and comments during the run. This helped get me through half marathon training and my first race in 2017. Now, I’m 2019, I’m training again and it no longer works. Might have to go find some other app.

The free version is good. I’ve used it for many years and it’s a nice basic app. The map works really well, I’ve have some minor issues when it’s very cloudy out but it still recorded all runs. You can also name your routes and use them again for comparing your timing with each run.

A bit of a pain.. I love the idea of the program, works well most times but there are random stop-start issues that are baffling. Not sure if it’s the touch screen or program, but it occasionally hasn’t been running when I think I’ve activated it. Most frustrating.

Should you buy? It depends .... It is difficult to rate this app. I bought it due to the shameful lack of run apps that have a lap feature. In my excitement to purchase I neglected to see in the reviews - not in the description- that to use the Apple Watch you need to carry your phone. I bought the Apple Watch so I could run without a phone. So, if you are like me, this will be massively frustrating. (I’ve only used the app once because of this.) Lots of cool screens - if you can read them. The one time I was able to use the app I found it difficult to read all but one of the screens while in motion. No doubt they are slick to look at when you are sitting on your couch. Good luck trying to see data at a glance. This review does not cover any of the other notable features (e.g., plans) because I truly only wanted a GPS app with a lap feature I could use on my Apple Watch - again, without carrying my phone. I’ll keep looking for it.

Useless without Elite Upgrade. I've been a runmeter user since 2013 or earlier. I upgraded to Elite in 2014 when it was a reasonable $ 4.99. Then, in 2017 I STILL upgraded to Elite when the priced doubled to $9.99. It's actually a great app, but without the Elite upgrade, it's pretty useless (to me, anyway). Here's why. I went for my first outside run in 2018 and didn't notice my Elite upgrade expired last week. I spent about 20 minutes trying to figure out what was wrong with my heart rate chest strap. It turns out you need ELITE to measure your heart rate. You're kidding right..? Nope. How about just measure your steps..? Still need Elite. I didn't take the time to detail everything you lose without ELITE but for me, if a running app can't track my heart rate or at least steps, I'll just switch back to my fitness band or use a HR watch with my chest strap.

Good for basic run tracking. I’ve been using this consistently for 8-9 years. Most of the options I don’t use, but for basic tracking of my running routes, times, splits, etc., and what shoes I’ve used, it’s great.

Inaccurate to a fault. I don’t know why no one else has mentioned this yet, but the pace measurements are all over the map (literally and figuratively) in this app. I’ve been using this for a while and I’ve observed the following behaviors on a number of occasions: 1. It often stalls out and stops registering any change in time or distance 2. When it is working it often reports inaccurate information. For example, on a slight downgrade of a hill it reported that I was running a 5:30 pace, then on an equally slight upgrade it reported I was running a 10:00 pace. My pace was actually about the same on both hills. I’m not that fast, and I’m not that slow. At one point during my run it reported that my pace was 0:00 for about a quarter of a mile, at which point I turned it off and uninstalled it.

Simply the best. I have used this app for years. As a heart patient this is the only app that I can set the heart zones and go run. The app tells me to pick it up or slow down no guessing. A big help for running Ultras and not blowing up

If you're looking for a watch app, look elsewhere. Nowhere in the description does this app explain that it is so severely restricted that you can't test even the most basic functions. Until you purchase the full app, you get nag screens for nearly all of the icons you touch. If you attempt to open the app on your watch, it just tells you to go to your phone. With so many fitness apps in the market, I'm not willing to spend ten bucks to find out what the issues are for each. It's too bad, this looked promising. Be honest in your description or give a real test capability!

Great Running App!. I’ve used Runmeter since 2011. Great app and extremely accurate on Marathon runs. Also, great customer service - they were able to restore my data history when my phone shut down.

Never needed Strava. I’ve been using this app since 2011 (and it’s 2022 as I write). Never had any trouble spi by exactly what I wanted with Runmeter. It does simple things easily and cleanly, but has great customizability and deep analytic tools when you need them. You can upload your workouts to Strava if you want, but for me the lack of forced social media integration is a feature not a bug. But it’s still there in Runmeter for those that want it!

Works great and easy to use.. Starts fast and has a simple interface, but lots of functions. Runmeter is an excellent companion on runs, walks, cycling - everything. You can make your own categories (eg., dog walking - name it after my dog!). The display is clear and informative- also customizable. Elite add-on is worth it. It adds more ways to sort & display the data plus stuff like the weather data added to your log.

Runmeter lover. Such a fabulous app. Have used and loved the elite version for a year and a half to track running, walking, biking, more - incredible. Easy and meaningful way to track active minutes, including graphs and great summaries!! Motivational.

Love this app!. I’ve been using this app for probably 10 years now and I can’t say enough good things about it. I love that I can set up workouts and the app will cue activities for me. I love that it can show me the history of particular routes so that I can challenge myself for better times. I like that I can share my routes with selected people. The pro version is a very reasonable price and I have paid for it sometimes when I wanted to use some of the more advanced features but honestly the free version has been more than enough for what I try to accomplish.

Great overall, needs stand alone use for Apple Watch. I started jogging and running again after recovering from a previous running injury. LOVE this app overall, just wish it had stand alone functionality for Apple Watch. I like to leave my phone behind when I run, but I’ve been taking it because it gives great statistics. The pacing feature has helped me improve my 5k times and currently using to train for half marathons.

Best running app out there. I’ve been a Garmin guy for the past 15+ years but decided to see if I could switch to my Apple watch and be as happy. I tried a bunch of apps but didn’t find one that I liked better than my Garmin until this one. It does EVERYTHING and then some. My favorite feature is one that surprisingly few apps offer, the ability to compete against your previous times on a rout (ghost runner feature). This is something Garmin has always had and I’m glad to see in incorporated into this app. The only thing lacking is the ability to use it as a stand alone. Currently you have to take your phone along for the ride. I don’t have a problem with this, it fits nicely into my running belt, but I know others do.

Good app, but persistent issue with Music. I’ve used the app for years, and while I really enjoy it, it seems to have a persistent issue with the iphone music app. The Runmeter will usually stop working correctly if one starts fiddling around with the music app during a run. I have, in the past, notified the developer of the issue. They did respond quickly and request data from my phone to help them identify the issue. The did acknowledge an issue after reviewing that data. However, they requested further data/access from my phone that I was not comfortable sharing, nor did I have the incentive to get into a project with them. So the problem persists. Having said that, everything else about Runmeter is pretty good

Great for Runners who like stats. This app works well for casual runners or hikers. But it is loaded with lots of detailed statistics which are well presented on your phone. You can link it to your calendar so it keeps a record on your calendar of all your runs. It takes a little getting used to to access the advance statistics but once you get the hang of it, You’ll have all the data you need about your runs. Each run is available on the web as well

Encouraging. The Run Meter app is by far the most positive influence on my life style of any app on my phone. It has been a great source of encouragement and goal setting. After 30 years of working and inactivity I decided to start running and love reflecting on some awesome trail running and events.

Great App!!!. I’ve had this app for about 7yrs and it’s been rock solid! Being with Run Meter for that long speaks to its performance and kills any desire to look elsewhere. Run keeper was the first app that I tried; wasn’t dependable. That’s how I found Run Meter.

Changed my review 👎🏽. This used to be a 5 star review from me. My go to running app. These guys just don't get it anymore. Apple Watch support but you still have to bring the phone?!? Talk about a disconnect with your user base. Not only that, these guys have about zero customer support. I'm so sad I've moved on from this once great app. Just take a look at more recent reviews than the overall rating. Much more disappointment than in the earlier years. Update: Upped it to two stars ⭐️⭐️ The developer mentioned importing my info from the Apple Watch. Indeed you can, but you can only access that feature through a paywall, where other running apps just include this from your initial download. I did in fact pay to see if it works well and it does. I just wish I can use this app on my watch without my phone. If the developers can at least give us an update on the app and if they plan on working on a standalone app for the watch or even if it’s not in the cards.

Seriously the best. For an iPhone user there is nothing better (can't speak to Watch usage). The UI is very intuitive but also highly customizable. Lots of data if you want it, and easy to analyze your race visually or share with friends via online explorer. Distance measurement appears to be dead-on whether I compare to Google Maps or an officially-measured road race course. Uploads to Strava are seamless. Love that you can track the mileage on your shoes!

Flakey with iwatch. You will have to have some paitence to make it work with iwatch. There are sequence of operation issues. I had to uninstall three times before I got it to work and not crash my watch I have been using elite for over a year now. I have had my Iwatch replaced three times for various issues such as failed touch screen. If you want an accurate heart rate monitor look somewhere else. If you want something that every once in awhile tells you An accurate heart rate after pushing a bunch of buttons and resetting things for the first couple of miles , then this is your device!

Downgraded to 1 star. I still love this app on the iPhone for the customizations but hate that it’s still not stand alone on the watch. It also, for whatever reason, has a problem with consistency on connectivity with the iPhone. I have my iPhone in my arm band on my left side and the watch on my right wrist and I get the no connectivity symbol often when running. Sometimes it just stops working completely with the app. Got to get with the program on stand alone with the watch. Until then I’m switching to Runkeeper who actually has a stand alone app for the watch. Also, the notifications on the Apple Watch don’t work. It doesn’t even announce start or stop but the have them there available. Stupid. Cancelled my subscription.

Watch App That Wont Work With Out The Phone Along For The Ride.. I had high hopes for this App as I have used a version of it various times through the years. That being said I got this App and upgraded to the elite. I thought it was going to be great until I went on my first run and was dumbfounded as to why my stats would not appear on my watch. I then quickly realized that like before in the past you had to find some way to lug your phone around with you to make this App work. Needless to say I was very disappointed. What is the point of making this App for the Apple Watch if it can't work independently??? Can the developers please get on untethering this App because it has some super legit features I just don't want to carry my phone.

Run meter. Works great, keeps track of everything. It was connected to face book so when you are running and someone sees you on Facebook, they could make a comment and you could hear the comment while you were running and your friends could see where you were on the run. That doesn’t work anymore. Not sure how to get around it. Probably for safety reasons, but that goes both ways.

Mileage is off. I have used and loved this app for YEARS and recently, my mileage is off for every run. The shorter run, I don’t really notice. For my recent half, it was over by 1/2 mile. It then impacts your average pace that it’s telling you in your ear which for this same race, it was off by 30 seconds - which is a lot. Today I ran 6.5 miles and again, it was off. So disappointing Bc it’s been my go to running app for so long :( I only gave it 3 stars bc of how long I’ve been using it.

Runner enthusiast. Terrible interface. For example, the Start button is designed narrowly such that when you have your phone on an armband and you’re outside in the sun, it’s very hard to see and tap on the Start button. What a stupid design - the other running apps have their Start button much larger. Also, the menus and functions are not very intuitive, the overall user experience is not good.

Great app with one flaw. Have been using Runmeter for 5 years, very good tracker and love the easy to use history over time. Only flaw - it should be able to be used without the iPhone on the iWatch. It would be great to go on a run with the watch only, then sync up that run with the phone later. Not sure why this functionality isn’t available. Would love the developer to work on this.

Love it but needs stand alone watch app. I have used Runmeter for several years now and it is by far the best iPhone based running app. Now it just needs a stand alone watch app so you don’t have to lug around your phone on every run. Other running apps have this so despite my admiration for Runmeter, I may have to switch over to an alternative so I can run without my phone.

Still a great app!. This is one of my most used apps! Have used this every time I run for over ten years, including over 500 miles while training for my first marathon. Easy to set up and easy to review every run.

Terrific App. I’m getting back into running after many years off. I’ve tried all of the current crop of apps. Nothing is as flexible and configurable as this. Although the Apple Watch app is not “stand-alone” (bummer since I have an Apple Watch 3), the screens are beautiful and customizable. Audio cues are customizable. In addition, the training plan is infinitely customizable. To be fair, it’s generic for say a 5k/10k and doesn’t have a “dynamic” component (where it’s modified every week) With others (mapmyrun, Runkeeper,) it’s surprisingly difficult to modify plans, switch a run from one day to another, etc.... I don’t know why this app isn’t more popular. As someone who has spent a bunch of time comparing the options ( including the premium versions) this was the best fit for me. Please pay the modest fee for the Elite version and continue to support it!

Lots of potential. First, they get 5 stars for support. I couldn’t get my Polar heart rate strap to work and I emailed them. Got a reply in less than 30 minutes, on a weekend, with a fix that worked. Pair it to the phone, not the watch. Unfortunately the heart rate does not update very often on the watch app. It seems to only work when the phone is unlocked. Beyond that, the app has tons of potential. Great stats for running and walking. However, the interface really needs some help. All the right info is there, but it’s not pleasant to look at or use. On the watch screens you have to scroll to see all the info. I also enjoyed the running plans, the interval training features, and the emailing of runs to let others know where I am. If the heart rate screen worked better on the watch I maybe would have paid the yearly fee. If it had that plus a better interface, it would be easy to pay for it. I’ll check back later to see how it develops.

Love this app... but.... I have been using this app for a few years and love the flexibility and detailed data is tracks. However, I do not want to rely on having my phone with me when I run. Unfortunately I will have to settle for a different app to use now that I will be relying on my Apple Watch 3 as my run tracker. Please make the changes needed to have this app stand alone with Apple Watch.

Incredible application. The combination of superb engineering and refined software is incredible for this app. Well worth every penny and more. The power features are kindly enabled with a subscription so the initial cost can be kept low. The level of customization and flexibility to customize this app is far greater than i could ever use as a hiker, runner and cyclist. It complements Apple’s native apps and works incredible well with the watch. The developer and user support is also exceptionally good.

Great App - Just needs to be freed from phone. I love this app on my iPhone. I just wish I could use it on my Apple Watch 3 without carryover no my phone along. I would love an app that allows me to set up a workout on my phone, upload the planned workout to my watch, then run the workout with just the watch, leaving the phone at home and sync the data back to the phone when I’m done. When you can give me that I’ll have 5 stars waiting😁.

Great App. I have run with this app for 7 year. It is easy to use, maps are extremely accurate, and it has great features. I have been extremely impressed multiple time when I ran on new roads being built and even then the mapping was extremely accurate. I look at each new app that comes out and never see anything worth changing for. I’m a recreational runner. I do not run marathons. I run mainly for my health and stress reduction.

A “screen one” App for Years. I’ve used dozens of running apps since the iPhone 3G first introduced a GPS, but I always come back to Runmeter. The app is super customizable, provides tons of statistics, integrates well with third party apps like Strava and MyFitnessPal, and has a very nice Apple Watch companion app. Sure, the app from time to time has suffered from issues with syncing between the watch and phone, but in nearly ten years and hundreds of runs while using this app, it has never failed me on a run. If you are looking for a running app that fits your exact preferences, give Runmeter a shot.

Best I’ve used. I live in an area of limited cell service. Literally none in my driveway. Unlike others this running app does not require me to have cell signal to at least start and finish my run. Yes I do pay the optional small annual subscription $9.99 currently so I don’t have to wait for it to load advertisements, which it can’t do without a signal. The subscription also provides extra features such as automatically detecting a pause when I am waiting to cross a busy street or such. Unfortunately the indoor step detection is never even reasonably accurate despite advice on how to make it more so. But I only run indoors in a blizzard or squall so not that big of a deal.

Excellent for serious runners. One of the most comprehensive apps i have used. Might require the user to invest some time to get the most of it but the sheer flexibility and functionality is amazing. Runmeter became my go to running app and i use it in parallel to Apple’s Workout. Well done.

Great support. I have found Runmeter to be the best app for all training, but specially for running with the Apple Watch. I am a data freak and Runmeter tracks and keeps all sorts of data in my data base. Also Abvio’s tech support is quick and responsive, listening and solving problems very quickly. Great support, great app!

AIRPLANE MODE. Please adapt this app to be able to function in airplane mode (AM)! Winter is coming and our phone battery energy gets zapped within a few short minutes because of the cold. Also, for the fact that people forget or don't have time to charge their phone before or after they go out to run, allowing the gps to effectively work on AM would be a huge convenience. I love this app BUT since the Nike running app uses this feature, I'll be using that app until this app gets up to date. :)

Loads of data but confusing interface. I've used it for many months now and used several other apps like it. This app has more data collection and reporting than any other app, which is why I prefer it for now. However, the interface is confusing with Application-Level Settings and Activity-Level settings. For instance, the Announcements are controlled at an Application-level, instead of Activity-Level, e.g. I need OFF for cycling and ON for running. Since I swap activities up to twice daily, I always need to fumble around with several settings before I start my activity. Give me Activity-level control for most/all settings and you would earn another star from me.

No standalone AppleWatch use. You have to have your iPhone with you which is pretty annoying. Standalone with Apple Watch 4 would be better

Solid performance. There are loads of running apps but this one takes the trophy. There is nothing like running a long run and then finding that somehow the app stopped recording all your hard work through some glitch or crash you don't get the buzz of seeing your achievement. No problems here a great simple uncluttered User experience and great storage of your hard earned running data.

I love this app. This app has not only helped me achieve my goals but kept me on the right track when i needed a push and also helped to better myself to greater heights than I thought possible. It is a great tool for general running fitness and tracking or as a tool when you have a specific event/target in mind.

Runmete. I have been using Runmeter since 2011. I absolutely love it. I hate running without it. It's easy to use, and all the data is saved and is easily accessible. I have all my runs saved since 2011...... just close cakes over 500 runs. It's also good to monitor the k's in new shoes. If you use Strava, you can link to Strava and at the completion of every run, it sends to your Strava feed. Awesome App. Can't live without it!

Impressive. I've only just downloaded this and have only used it once but from what I can tell it is going to provide me with everything I'm after! Was about to buy a gadget for several hundred bucks to use in my training for my 1st marathon so I am very pleased to have found this app!

Awesome app. Works well, use it all the time when i go for a run, works great with multi tasking, calender, music. I like how it reads out your time distance and average speed throughout your run. Better interface then all the other gps apps out there

Get serious. I've come from a garmin 305 I love the runmetre feedback via earpiece which beats trying to read a display on a watch. Runmetre gps tracking is fast and reliable. A few upgrades in features would make runmetre a serious alternative training tool for recreational runners. Such as: ability to set target paces, capability to preset workouts with intervals, fartlek and speed sessions. Also to buy a heart rate monitoring device that gives instant feedback would make runmetre a powerful piece of equip for runners who want more than just average pace time and distance.

Love it. I only jog once or twice a week but it's an extremely motivating tool. No complaints. Emailed the support team with a query before I bought the app a few months ago and got a response the same day. Nuf said!

Excellent A++++. Best running app on the market for sure. This little baby gives me the motivation I needed to do those few hundred kilometres in training. Absouletly love it. So good that Im writting my first app review. Complete with everything you need, whether you are a rookie or serious runner you'll love it. Thanks runmeter keep up the good work.

good bit of gear. It took a while to figure it all out. the acuracy is questionable if the phone is in a bumbag or pocket . I carry mine on my arm as you would an ipod. gives you a great deal of info about your running style and performance. I now feel lost without it. Robt Pender

excellent. love this app, it is great, i wanted an app app to track my km and i wanted an app that was free. You have made my dreams come true

Great app. This is a great app, easy to use, very customizable, stable, the notification feature is great !!! But I wish the "Pro Upgrade" is cheaper than 5.49$ , it would be nice to have the facebook sharing and iCloud sync for less than that ...

Good app, but with limitations. I have tried most of the running apps and I think this is the best. Telling you when you are ahead or behind for median/best/worst for that run is a great feature, although it does not work for one or two of my regular runs. The main issue with the app is that it is limited by the GPS in the iPhone 3. It takes up to 5 mins to warm up, which is annoying. It gets a little more accurate when you take it out of the case and turn off wifi, but distances can still be out by up to 10% and it can go for 5 mins at a time without taking a distance/speed reading at all. One improvement would be if it used the map of your run to recalculate the distance at the end of the run (or at least give you a second opinion) much like the mapmyrun web based tool. However, none of the other apps (even the mapmyrun app) do this and none of the competitors are any better on accuracy. All in all a good app.

Excellent App. I have been using this app for over a year and it is a great training tool. I love the ranking you get for each of the routs to track your improvement (hopefully) also talking feedback is very useful for staying on pace for a run. Won't run without this now days.

Great & easy to use app. Thanks for a great app. It has helped get into running and complete a 10km fun run. Easy to use, and keep track of my progress. Allows me to play music while it records, and announces the info I want at each split. Keep up the good work.

Fab App. I love it and so do my friends as they also receive email updates and it motivates my other friend who doesn't train with us to train as she can she how much training she should be doing for City2Surf.

Awesome.. Pretty handy little app. Some of the gps mapping is off but hard to tell if that an iPhone problem or the app. Works on par with everything else that I've tried. Can Sync with daily mile to which is a big plus.

Does the job well. Have had issue with incorrect GPS readings showing 1km every 500m, but did phone restart and all corrected. Love the way the music does not stop when voice kicks in, but just drops to background until voice finishes, then kicks back in. Had this app for ages and use it for run and ride. Overall does the job well.

Excellent, Excellent App!. I purchased this app at the very beginning and it has always been great, but every update brings more and more features and options - it just keeps getting better!!!

Impressive response by developers. Brilliant direct response by developers relating to an issue I was experiencing with the app. 10/10 for customer service.

Ripped Off. I bought this application back a while ago when it was Pro, on the blurb it said all pro users are entitled to a free upgrade, i went to update settings, and when i hit the "register Pro" version, it asked me for an amount which i then got charged again, so theoretically, it means i've bought the program, not once, but twice.. be carefull when you submit as Pro Upgrade, you will get charged.. I hate this new apple in app purchase format that everyone is deploying now..

Run meter. I have in the last 6 months lost 25kgs. During this whole time I have used Runmeter to track my running & now cycling fitness training sessions. It has helped me share my training sessions which has given me a lot of support to keep going.

Very good. I shifted from MMR because it was draining too much power. Been using Runmeter for about 6 months now and very happy with it. It uses less power and less memory. Only issue has been installing the datebase from icloud (updated after using app on iphone) onto the ipad app - the ipad takes some time to recognise that there is an updated database. It might be an icloud issue rather than an app problem.

One of the best.. I'm using this app more than a year, is one of the best. Congratulation. Please make app stand alone for Apple Watch.

Great app. Great app and really love it. Very customizeable and all information are available in the app itself, I don't have to open webpage to see all the information, including graphs. The only pain is if you use wahoo fitness and have more than 1 bike with different cadence and speed sensors. Everytime you change bike, you have to remove all sensors and added it again. I hope abvio comes with a better way of handling this in the future update.

Great app. So, i've never been inspired to write a review before, but runmeter is totally worth the buy. If you're nervous that your iPhone will get busted (like I was) don't be. Just start it up and put it away - everything runs perfectly by itself. The voice announcements are great and the fact ut doesn't use a lot of battery is fantastic. I went for 55mins eith music playing and didn't miss a beat. Get it now

Fantastic Program - Best thing I have bought in iTunes. For once an App that does what it claims. I tried a cheaper App to record my exercise which did nothing but drop out every time I used it. I have been using this one for about 3 month and it has never let me down.

The best running app - built for runners. This app is clearly designed by runners. Running against yourself (ghost running!) is awesome and really keeps you motivated. The distances are very accurate, the live satellite view, the google maps export with split times. I've deleted all my other running apps now.

Love it!!!. I've been using runmeter for about 6 months and I love it. It's reliable, easy to use and has some cool features like auto-stop and announcements while you run. It's customizable so you can set it up to suit you. A great tool for new & seasoned runners. It's definitely helped keep me motivated during training for my first marathon.

Extremely promising, well featured GPS runners log. Liking this application a lot after trying a few others. This appears to be a runners app for runners and as a long-time runner I like the main page data which gives right at the top of a clear, easy to read screen, my elapsed time and distance run. So simple but so essential. Lots of other features, such as setting running loops and ability to compare runs, calendar of results, graphs etc. Developer advises data can be extracted to csv in an upcoming release (2.0 I think) which is excellent news for more analysis of data.

Loree. This is an excellent application. I started running in February 2010 and love being able to see my progress. I especially like how I can listen to music while 'Run meter' makes distance and time announcements at regular intervals.

Good for tracking sailing and running and cycling. Use this for running, cycling and take it on the boat on Saturdays to record the track. Having weather is great and the dashboards I also like a lot - now I can see very easily how my running is improving month month or getting worse after having too long a break. Great app. Been using it for a few years. Data uploads to apple health, my fitness pal. Very happy with the app, not just for running though. My sailing buddy was very impressed when i took it on the boat and we saw have badly we were taking, or should have been taking.

One of the best. I use my phone for everything and this is my favourite app I own. I've used it for over 300 runs and it's been inaccurate 3 times (I'm happy with 99% success, plus I was able to correct the errors). Love running against previous data. Only addition I would recommend would be graph of run times against the date for individual routes. Thanks for the great app and motivation.

one of the best apps for sure. The stopwatch is keep stopping. But I guess it's because instead of using an earphone, I use the main bottom when I change I-pod songs during run. Is that correct? Anyone can answer? Also If anyone know how to put on "CALORIES" on the stopwatch screenshot like the above's one? Mine's show as "ELEVATION" which I dont really care, wanna get rid of it and put the Calories on. I know we can see how much calories you burn WHEN you press "stop" and "Done" but would like to see during run as well

Best running app. I've tried a bunch of running apps and this is easily the best. My favourite features is the customisable announcements during the run. Set all the details you want to hear, when you want them. The post-run km-by-km analysis is also great.

Awesome. This is an awesome application. It does everything it is supposed to do and does it well. Very easy to operate while running which is great as some applications can be more annoying than helpful when training. Thanx for a great App !!!!!

Best running app!. This is by far the best running app on the market! It is so extremely customizable and accurate that it will take your training to a whole new level no matter what your goals are. I've tried plenty of free apps and nothing can compare to this one!

Brilliant App. One the best and most polished apps I've come across in the app store. Does everything it says and does it perfectly. Interupt iPod mode is sensational and keeps you updated during your run so you know exactly how you're tracking against previous runs. There are so many features built in that I have not yet explored but everything I have tried so far works perfectly. A bargain at the price. Well done guys!

my running mate. This is definitely a user friendly app. Top of the class for runners, walkers, hikers etc. I rave over the dynamics of it: splits, maps, pace, calories... so many goodies! and you can even email the run to yourself or friends while you are running; check out the street view in 'maps'. I really like the way it allows iPod and in coming calls too. I'd like to see a kilojoule option to calories in a future update? but that's not a criticism, just a suggestion, thanks heaps!!

Great. Love it- can't run without it

Been using for 10 yrs. Have tried a few apps over the years but always come back to Runmeter. Fully customisable can upload to Strava, it will announce your run through your eat buds as you go. I purchased a blue tooth chest strap for heart rate and although not as comfortable it is deadly accurate. I have tried expensive fitness watches but heart rate is frustratingly all over the place. Pay extra for the elite features in the Runmeter App and get a chest HR strap and it’s the best combo and best app around.

Great app.. I agree with the reviewer who said the interface can be a little confusing with the details, but the basics work brilliantly and I don't need to fiddle with the details at all. The training programs are fantastic being integrated with the recording side of the program.

The best running app at the moment (v2.0.9). Over the past fortnight I've tried all the main running/GPS apps (Runmeter, RunKeeper and MapMyRun+) and have to say that this one works the best. Runmeter and RunKeeper are both good but at the moment Runmeter is a better bet because of a few things: 1. It's the only one where you can set a route and 'race' against your best previous time. 2. It's the only one where you can stop it and start it from the earphone controls (eliminating the all the fumbling around at the start of the run). 3. The GPS is more accurate. 4. The price is good. Main downside is it doesn't have a web interface that allows you to review the map of your run in more detail, or edit your run if there were inaccuracies in the GPS reading. Also there is only the ability to post on twitter, not facebook - if posting about runs is your thing. Overall, a great app that has really increased my motivation to run.

Perfect. Can do everything I want it to do, and even more that I don’t yet.

My most useful App. This App has been so well developed and continues to grow with regular improvements. A recent 26 km mountain bike ride was logged and emailed directly from the App to all participants. The riders were then able to open up the resulting KML file in Google Earth or Maps. Way cool!!!

Great product. It just works. Very informative while exercising. I use it for running and cycling. Keeps me focused when it warns me of being better or worse than best or average times. Also provides useful info during session. Summary is great too!

Great App.. Easy to use - this was exactly what I was looking for! Gives you all you need to know about your run and keeps a history for you. Now I get to compare each run and quickly see any improvements. Thanks for a great app.

Reliable. Tried other 'free' apps of this sort that don't work very well. eg GPS not working, pace, distance not configuring properly. With Runmeter, I have not encountered any these problems. I recommend this to anyone who runs/walks/cycles and needs a reliable measuring device.

Love it. Love the App and have been using it for years so much history. Would really appreciate an integration with my new Garmin setup

Useless without voice cues. Lacks many useful/essential features other free apps have. Don't waste a workout on this app. UI is lackluster too.

Runmeter. Do I need to purchase the “elite” for the running app and the cycling app.

Crap. I bought this app to do training intervals Run 2 Walk 1. It tells you to start at the beginning, but then there is nothing else. You have to watch your phone for the entire run. Waste of money.

One of my favourite apps. By far one of my most favourite and most often use apps. I would recommend it to everyone. Van. BC

Very versatile pace / velocity tool for training. If you want decent data (precision limited only by phone GPS) about your training this is a great tool. You can adjust the measurement units for speed, pace in metric or imperial, the pro module allows for setting to be adjusted depending on workout (e.g. speed for bike vs pace for running or rucking). Also, my favorite part is using the customizable announcement feature to give me a “ears-up” display without having to look at my watch / phone. Just play the announcements through a headset while you train!

Excellent app pour courir en compétition. Je cours 10km et le demi-marathon. Runmeter m'a aidé à améliorer mon temps, en analysant mes performances au km près. J'utilise l'app depuis 4 ans et pour moi, il est indispensable. Toronto 10km Ooch.

Run meter review. I love it. I'm not a competitive runner, I run just for fitness. It's definitely added more interest to my runs as well as hikes and cycling. Very cool.

To Many ads!. Purchase this aps 4 year ago! Each update since removed features and added ads! If I want the features back! I need to pay... This is how you treat your longterm customer?

Application très conviviale. je l’adore

Needs Pause button. Luv this app! It tracks your route, even hiking through forested trails, or walking on river valley trails, off pavement and roads.. and then shows you a map! Luv the elevation graphs and the way it tracks calories burned. Just wish there was a "pause" button for breaks (water, bathroom stops, stretching, etc.) so that your time and avergae speed/km stayed accurate.

Excellent app!!!. This app is worth the cost. Too many awesome features to list. No need to login to an external website, map info, graphs, etc is all displayed within the app.

Super. J'aime

Love it. When I first started using this app I thought the distance was way off until I found out it actually not that far off at all. After using it in a half-marathon race where the distance is exact, this app recorded 21.8 kms on a 21.1 km route. To me that is acceptable and I adjust my kms accordingly. The only problem I have ever had with this was when it updated to a newer version and I lost a year and a half of hikes, runs, and backpacking trips. Most disappointing of all was losing my first half-marathon race info.

Merci. Super cela me garde en forme et je sais combien de Kilometre je fais super application

Thorough and efficient. This app does it all. Accurately, and as simple as you like or as complex as you like. Support is excellent. Buy it, you won't be disappointed!

Use it all the time. My favourite app for tracking my runs!!

Excellente application.

Awesome APP!!. Awesome! Keeps track of everything that needs to be tracked!

Location location. No thank you. You do not NEED to know where I am. Is it so hard to be able to use a running app without location services on? I was so excited too. To finally find an app that lets me set my own running plan. Deleting.

Pretty good apps!. Easy to use and help to keep track of the hiking trail you do! The years inscription seems really interesting but for the moment I will use the basic One!

Doesn't work. If you don't have your phone with you I have found that this app doesn't work. Mine paused today and wouldn't restart and i have the series 3 watch with cellular. So far it's a waste of money.

My app was deleted!!. The latest update did no run successfully and I don't have the app anymore! How do I recover my data??

Runmeter. Bonjour à vous, L’application est vraiment amateur. Aucune intervalle à programmer, pas de résultat cardio. Application à repenser Pierre

Great App!. I use this app during every run and I enjoy all of its features. I feel more interested in exploring my neighborhood because of Runmeter. Keep up the good work!

Programmes. Programmes d'entraînement progressif très bons. App un peu compliqué, mais on y arrive😉

Great app. Love this app and all its features. Keeps track of so much info and gives greats stats to help you push your running to the next level.

Exceeded expectations. Great app! It's simple to use and the maps and graphs are great. I use RunMeter for running, cycling, and hiking. I sync my phone to my iPad, so I can view the calendar, maps and graphs easily. I've recommended RunMeter to a few friends who have tried it and loved it, and I would recommend it for anybody, from casual walkers who want some stats about where they walk, to serious athletes in training.

Where did Twitter go?. I have been using the app for years and one of the features I liked was that I could share to Twitter. That seems to now be gone even though your description of the app still shows it as a feature. :( Otherwise, still a good app. Accurate and user-friendly. Only gave it a lower rating because the one specific feature I used it for has been removed.

Worked well until update. I've been using this app for a few years, never had a problem with it. Since one of the recent updates, the app stops working after pausing, making this app unreliable. Imagine you're in the middle of a workout, or competition, and you pause it for some reason, and it won't restart. You have to finish it where you are, reset it, and restart it. This is unacceptable for continuity.

Very User friendly sports app. Ive been training with for over 4 yrs now. They have a music player integrated in the app which sinc's with the iPhone Music app. If you find a bug, the creators actually seem to work on fixing them. Best app I've ever purchased. App support is also very fast when emailing them technical questions. I even used it on vacation around the world and the maps loaded very easily.

3yrs using this app: I love it. The only thing I would love to change is the ability to show distance in KM when syncing with iCal. Right now eventhough my setting is set to KM, when syncing with iCal it still shows as miles.... PLEASE FIX Over than that I love this app.

Run meter is great!. Love the feedback after a workout -great for learning and sharing!

Not a workout app, just a tracker. Subscribed to this app because I thought I could do track and interval workouts with it. Ended up buying ismoothrun instead. One time purchase at half the annual cost of this one. Too bad I had already paid for this one. This app does not offer interval/lap recordings and does not work with watch alone without phone. I learned it does not allow you to create an interval workout so no ability to keep track of intervals/ laps. For example, if you do 8 x 400m on the track, no separate stats. You need your phone, does not work on Apple Watch alone. ismoothrun claims to handle both as a one time purchase. We’ll see but looks promising.

Yay. Awesome app

Gorgeous and detailed, HR tracking utterly failed. Just took a test run with my Apple Watch and came home to find a flat line heart rate graph. I've used the Series 2 and now Series 3 watch for the past few years, with over a dozen apps, and never had a problem with reliable heart rate data so I'm confident it wasn't user error wearing the Watch wrong. I also can't find a support email address on the developer's website. If you're not using this app with an Apple Watch it may be a good pick. You'll have to pay for Elite if you want to get your data out of Runmeter's silo, but the annual subscription is reasonably priced. The customization is great, far deeper than anything else I have used recently. Having cadence info is something a lot of apps skip.

Couch to running. I love Runmeter! I went from couch to 5k and now working on 10k. I wouldn't have been able to do it without the app. Switch to the Irish announcer, you won't want to let her down :)

Misleading on App Store. This app only functions on Apple Watch with the paid version. $13.99 yearly. Deleting app due to misleading information.

Runmeter. J'adore!!! Simple et efficace.

Love it. Love it, it just gets better!! Excellent!

Everything you need. This app has everything you need to start maintain and finish whatever training program you set your mind to. I have been using it for years since I got off the couch and have run all my marathons with it. Getting Elite is also a must. Have tried every program as they come out and this is always the benchmark I return to. Happy running... Cheers!

Awesome GPS running app. Love being able to save routes and have it track my best, current, average and worst runs against the route. No issues with this version yet. What a great tool for 5 bucks.

Great Ap!!. Love it!! Only wish it did 10 & 1 notification if it does I haven't figured out how!?

A km is farther then I thought. This app is a marvel all runners will love it. To pause just press stop and it will pause u then have the option to press done or start. And if u press start it continues ......i never ever would have thought it would work so well. My running life is changed forever.and it's in either km or miles.

No privacy, no security. The app itself seems to be good but I can't accept those privacy terms and you needs to copy paste a link from terms and conditions to see them. Liar! On the app preview, there is a image with "secure and private" but in practice "user content" of yours is send not encrypted to and from the app server... C'Mon! It's 2016 at least encrypt your communication it's FREE now.

Came back to Runmeter. The latest version of Runmeter completely resolves the issues shown below that led me to cancel my elite subscription. Now I can record a workout using only the Apple Watch App, using only the phone app without a watch or using both together. I have changed my rating to five stars based on this improvement and the many features and flexibility that Runmeter already offered. I will also be renewing my elite subscription. Previous review After being along time user I have canceled my elite subscription to Runmeter because: 1 There is no ability to use the watch app independently from the phone. 2 The Apple watch app frequently does not work to link with the phone and properly display workout information. I am tired of trying to get the link to work properly. When the Apple Watch app works it is good but I it doesn’t work too much of the time.

Excellente app. Toutes les statistiques qu'ils nous faut

App is the same as all the others,. This app is the same as all the other apps ... Sign in with email etc and keep sending you crap Too many advertisements!

Longtime user. I have used Runmeter to track my exercise for over 10 years. It has done a great job tracking my runs throughout the United States and in Italy, Chile and Canada.

Very pleased!. Runmeter has tracked more than 4,000 miles of running for me. Love the data.

Awesome - thanks so much Runmeter developers!!. Halp. Your Marathon plan is stuck on km despite having main settings set to miles

GPS does work consistent. Had this app for years and it worked fine. Recently got back into running after a long break. It only tracks my run time- no other run data. That’s whole point of this this app. Phone GPS works just fine w other apps, but this one says poor GPS connection

DO NOT UPDATE!. This app used to have a selection to post various work out details to Facebook and hear comments read aloud. It was silly but fun. It no longer does that. = Less fun. If you update, you lose “free” features you have now. DON’T DO IT!

This is a Tremendous fitness tracker!. I use Runmeter for walking hiking running and cycling and it’s a tremendous tool for tracking all kinds of details about my runs and I love it heart rate monitoring as well.

Love it. Best bag for the buck. This app has everything you could want. If it is not a prebuilt option just create your own. I can’t think of any flaws.

Does not work with watch alone!. The whole reason i bought the watch was to leave my phone at home. The here app doesn’t support this and other apps do. So I like other features here better but I never again want to run with my phone on me. Improve the watch independence and I will use this app gladly again.

Run. The accuracy has improved alot thank you

Very good app. I have used both the basic send elite versions of this app since 2013 and the app was working great until a month ago. It has gone completely bonkers. Continually losing miles or adding miles. I have uninstalled it and reinstalled it and still absolute poor quality! I have actually changed to a new app because of the extreme glitches.

Useless Watch Support. No stand alone watch support! You must have your phone with you to run this app. App works great on phone, useless watch integration. Would like a refund since I paid for the upgrade to use with my series 3 cellular watch. As I run exclusively with only my watch, this app is useless for me.

Runmeter is my all time favorite workout App!. It’s awesome for running, hiking & Kayaking! I wouldn’t leave home without it!

Requires You to Carry Your Phone. Despite cellular and other capabilities of the Apple Watch, this app requires you to have your phone with you. I bought the app thinking it was standalone with the Watch...so beware before buying. Great app if you have your phone.

Lug phone on run with a gps watch?!?!. I misread the details of this app, and paid $9 to get the heart rate zone notifications, but quickly realized on my first run that even though I have an AW3 on my wrist with GPS and LTE I still have to lug my iPhone + in pocket as watch app wont work without phone.... horrible, don’t waist your money

Poor Apple Watch support. Great app for tracking progress, staying motivated and the training routines are a nice addition. Useless if you want to go running without your phone. The developer will not invest in standalone Apple Watch support. If you want to go running without your phone, find another app.

Use a different app 👎🏼. This was a great app years ago. Now almost every run it stops tracking my distance and pace. That should be the most reliable thing! Now the only part I can rely on is disappointment and ad’s after every input. Big fail 👋🏼

Used to love this, but no AW3 support.. I absolutely loved this app. Too many awesome, easy to use features to even list here. Been using it for years. But I bought an Apple Watch 3, and wanted to leave my phone at home. Too bad the Watch app only works if you have the phone on you! No thanks! So I will be abandoning this wonderful app after so many years. Please, please upgrade the app to use with the watch independently so I can come back!!!

Apple Watch Series 3. I love Runmeter and have used it for years. This morning I went running with my new Apple Watch and there wasn’t any connection. Please advise.

Bad update. For some reason, after today’s update (8 sep 21) my Runmeter does not get the apple watch HR data. Rendering it useless. I’ve been using Runmeter for 8+ years and it’s been great, but if this doesn’t get resolved soon, I will have to switch workout apps. Please fix!

Great App. Works great! Keeps track of everything!

Great app for runners and walkers. I have using this app for 10 years and it has been working great. It gives you a lot of details about your run/walk to understand your workout. Some of the things I like are: Altitude information Split runs Graphical breakdown of your run Simply a wonderful app for your run/walk!

Excellent app, but..... This app’s data is amazing and easy to access on iPhone..... but needs to be easier to use with an Apple Watch.

I love Runmeter. But lately the GPS in the app has been getting lost and not recording my distance accurately. GPS in my phone is working while using other apps.

Great app but can’t get it to work with Apple watch. I got it years ago and it was great but it seems it can’t keep up with UX upgrades from Apple, but hey, it’s free.

Just a few issues. Works great at tracking rides/runs, has issues working when other apps are ope . Memory crashes and/or it him just shuts down. Would love to see them add a couple of features: - Alarms based on time (every n minutes as set by the user - Alarm based on distance (every n miles as set by the user)

Great Program. Easy to use interface, great program that keeps track of all the details!

Review. In the last few months it will switch screens without my knowledge. Then I have to stop and change the screen back to mileage and time. It’s a pain.

Family sharing. Interesting app. Very customizable with lots of info but no family sharing!!!! And does not support complications on the watch. At least not in a number of applications. Great customer responsiveness

Love it. I recently had an issue with GOS tracking, contacted support and got responses quickly. It was user error on my part, but support was great for it and now it's working better than ever. Even gave me help with restarting a running plan.

Tons of data and charts. Lots of charts with tons of customizations. Connects to lots of third party devices to track even more metrics. Options to connect to other apps as well. Easy to use but powerful if you want to dig in.

Fantastic app don’t worry about the cost just get it.. I have had this app for at least five years can I use it all the time. I love it

Numbers. I am a CPA, like statistics and love to run. After trying a couple of the top apps to run, I decided to keep runmeter as my only source. Awesome graphs and keep record of all the vital numbers.

The best at what it does. Easy to use, extremely reliable. Been using this app for the past 10 years if I’m not wrong

Was 5 now 2. I’ve been a premium customer for years and really love the app but they are tone deaf to AppleWatch stand alone functionality. Sure you can use Apple Workout App and then import it but why? Get the stand alone watch functionality or become obsolete.

Poor Watch Support. They have chosen not to support stand alone support for the watch despite being available for a few years now. I contacted their support and they said it was Apples fault and have no future timeline for adopting stand alone running with Apple Watch. Strangely I have now been able to switch to several other third party apps that have been able to support this so their response to me seems interesting.

Does the cycle or running app allow for a cadence sensor? I have Elite and don’t see it. Great program

Runmeter is fantastic. I’ve been using Runmeter for 7 years, an avid runner. Highly recommend - simple to use and navigate, excellent customizable features. Every step is a gift - have a great run 🏃🏽

Accurate &Easy. Love this app. You can use it with various forms of exercise. It really easy to use and adaptable.

No standalone watch app. This was the best for me past 5 years and well worth the premium subscription. I’ve stopped using it, unfortunately, and didn’t renew, due to the poor watch app that requires a phone to be carried along. 5 star app if you run with phone, zero star app if you want to use just Apple watch.

Love it!. Use it all the time. It’s my favorite for years! Thanks!!!

Great App. I’ve been using Runmeter for years, amazing app, great price, highly recommended!

“0.00 miles” - awesome, thanks for nothing. This app tracks my time but not my distance. Currently looking for a better app as this has happened more often than it actually tracks my distance.

I always come back to this one.. I rarely write reviews but this is a very, very good app. I look forward to a watch complication one day but other than that it fills my every workout need and has since 2012.

Amazing.. Great running app. Very accurate. Wish it would add up the partial miles for weekly and monthly totals but I highly recommend.

GPS won't track after update. The app has worked well in the past but I updated the app and now it won't track my runs with GPS. The timer runs but nothing else works. The app says I have full GPS coverage but it won't track. I've tried several times today.

It's great. Used the program for years across several iPhones. Always works right

Great app. I’ve been using this app for years! Easy to use and track your runs

The GPS is not precise.. The GPS is not precise. Done multiple activities in the same route cycling or running and distance is way to many miles when I run o to little when ride the bicycle an it show like I took a shortcut in the map.

Great w one recommendation. I’ve used this for years. If only you could analyze workouts via a website. If only...

Keeps Crashing. Why does the app keep crashing in the middle of my runs? It’s updated, and I’ve started closing down all other windows to no avail. It is very frustrating trying to map and time a run when it crashes every half mile and stops. This used to be a wonderful way to track my runs-now it’s just frustrating. Yes I’ve emailed support.
