SCAM! Don’t purchase!. Unfortunately I was very excited to try this app only be be very disappointed. The IG ad was misleading, once you get the app it’s all pay and it isn’t a 1 and done. It’s subscription. They have ZERO items for free. I tried multiple selection. Also it’s really confusing to navigate where to go to get anything. The app developer ran in the opposite direction of easy navigation. But the worst part is not having a SINGLE ONE thing for free to test the product out and see if it’s likable before being forced to pay. DO NOT BUY THIS. If they had free options I would be willing to change my review but the app developer is greedy and scamming us.

I can’t pay for the service?. So like many others, I saw this through an ad showcasing lyric widgets and really neat stuff, I did initially think this was free but later found out it wasn’t, however that didn’t bug me too much as I didn’t mind paying for a service that’s neat like this. I go to pay for a yearly subscription and it said that it was “unable to complete request” and I thought that was odd, I restarted the app and same thing, I even tried the weekly plan and still nothing, as crazy as it may sound to some, I’m a little bummed I didn’t get to pay for the features because they seem really awesome. Hoping this review will get the attention of the people working on the app so I can try these things out for myself

Confusing waste of money. I usually do not write reviews but I thought to write one after the frustration I experienced today. I don’t know if this is just a problem with iPad but it will not let me install icon packs after half an hour of adding my games which was another problem I experienced, in the description it says 1-click which was clearly false. I did confirm in my settings to allow this app but it still wouldn’t let me install pack even after I bought a weekly subscription. It was only two dollars but I could still have used the money and time spent on this app elsewhere and I’m very disappointed. That being said I am also horrible technology, I just wanted I cute home screen and didn’t think it would be this difficult.

Really great app! Just a few minor things!. This app is really great! It’s overall pretty simple, and you get an adorable Home Screen. The one thing I was scared about while downloading this, is if it was like some of the other apps that want you to pay for literally everything. But no! This app does have some things you need to pay for, but you don’t need to buy anything to use this. What I did was make my own app icons and then link them, and it worked great. It did take longer than just purchasing one of the bundles that already have the icons made and linked for you, but it was completely free! One thing, is that when you press on the app icon, it takes you to the handy app and then to the app you linked. It’s not really a big deal, but it looks a little weird and like something’s glitching because it takes you to a different app and then to the one you pressed. Other than that, it looks really cute, and you don’t need money to use this and customize your Home Screen. Definitely recommend (p.s. Pinterest has some great app icons, so I recommend looking there for all your icons, if you choose to make them instead of buy a pack!

The pokemon island you probably saw and downloaded this for is nowhere close to free or affordable. Waste of a download. Only garbage phone themes are free everything else requires severely overpriced subscription based service to use and the reviews saying it drains battery fast make it not even worth it. Not having a free or even single purchase option available for the one thing I’m sure most people downloaded the app for is terrible marketing on your part. And I’m pretty sure not disclosing the price for main feature you’re pushing in your ads for the app or even disclosing that it’s a PAID feature is probably false advertising, not to mention all the pop ups pushing the subscription service the second you launch the app even with the next button at one point wanting to charge you for the subscription without warning that honestly might be illegal especially if people have accidentally bought it because of that. Overall; terrible app. Not worth the time or money.

Help. Hi I didn’t really care for what options there were and the ones I wanted cost money. I wanted to remove this app. But it won’t remove. It removed from my home page like the icon but it won’t uninstall. And it also has a weird widget of a cat that spins where the camera is. I never put that there. And I can’t get rid of it. I am sure this app is great but not for me. Can someone please help me remove? I cannot remove it at all. And it’s driving me crazy. I been trying to figure this out for an hour and I tried looking it up online and there is nothing. I will delete my review after someone helps me thank you. (I have an iPhone 15 pro max)

Great app for widget gifs. A very wide variety of widgets and lots of free ones if you look hard enough in hashtags, best widget theming app I’ve found. Fun to create more! (Please fix a few things! Let us remove website links from our bio, it forces us to leave “https://“ and please allow us to upload a cover video file easier when we create new widgets, lot of the time we get stuck on a white blank screen & need to close+reopen+retry) Ty!

Help me. This app is amazing but I need help, I bought a pack and tried to download it but the apps aren’t appearing in my Home Screen? I’ve done this process before but I wanted more simple app icons, I selected them and linked them but they never showed up and I’m not doing anything wrong because the wallpaper I wanted showed up in my photos but the icons didn’t? Developer if you see this please tell me what’s wrong cuz I don’t want my dads money to be wasted.

It's ok. App is really useful, and much faster than using shortcuts app to make app icons. There are some things I don't like about it though. Like a lot of other reviews on here said, you have to be over 13 to actually use this, as apple sign in won't work otherwise. A sign in option other than using apple idea would be helpful. A lot of stuff isn't actually free, either, like how you have to pay for a premium service to get certain things and a lot of stuff costs money, even with premium. The main problem I have with though is when you open up an app, it first takes you to a blank page with the app's picture and name, then that takes you to the app you opened. It kind of gets annoying having to close both out and being redirected every time I open an app. Other than that though, the app is very useful for decorating you're phone, and I recommend it.

9.99 a month?. When I first found handy I absolutely loved it! Having a icon pack creation platform that is easily accessible for artists and users alike was a incredible cool idea. I understand completely that it takes time and a ton of effort for the developer to create this app. Keeping up on the Twitter has shown me how much time is spent creating these updates along with the time spent sending reviews to apple. When I saw the notification that the “second jump” was getting removed I was so excited! But when I opened the app and was prompted to pay 9.99 a month for the feature I got sad. Everyone deserves to get paid. I do not disagree with that. But 9.99 a month? It’s a bit much in my opinion, and I feel it’s going to shrink your audience. Otherwise I do greatly like this app, it does what it says it does well. I enjoy the autofill “magic” feature when creating icon packs. I really like how simple the process for artists to upload their work.

App Abandoned; 0 customer service. I was a huge fan and user of this app since first launch. Had some amazing features and I loved the customization options and dedication to artist-made icons. Unfortunately it looks like this app has been completely abandoned by the creators. Which is a shame since it seems some artists are continuing to upload icon packs there. I am currently getting an unsolvable error when attempting to download new icons and have received zero response from support on how to solve. At the price it costs to hold a subscription I find this unacceptable. The discord server is overrun with bots and no information has been provided concerning the various issues users have reported. I’ll be cancelling my subscription.

It’s pretty good. I really like the app, minimal ads in the free version. I bought the club because it is currently a one time payment so I get lots of themes downloadable. The only thing I dislike is that when you open your downloaded icons from the Home Screen it opens handy first then the app screen loads. Another thing to note: if you pay for the club some themes you also need to pay extra for depending on the seller.

Cool App but…. Honestly, I really do like the app. It’s also great that it seems to be a community behind it as to who creates the wallpaper and widgets. My only issue was it seemed to be causing my phone to run hot as well as drain my battery. I checked what was being used most when the issue occurred and the iPhone showed the Handy app as the “culprit.” Even after paying for it, I had to remove the app from my phone to see if it would improve my iPhone 17 pro maxed battery life and heat management which it has. If this apparent issue can be resolved I’d gladly give it 4/5 ⭐️.

Glitchy, slows phone. Man, I wanted to love this app. I paid for a year, completely rethemed my phone many times, uploaded and made my own content for the app- but in the end, it’s just too glitchy. It slowed my phone down massively even when I uninstalled all unused widgets. I have a lot of free memory on my phone, yet the widgets would often (once every couple weeks) just disappear/wouldn’t load, leaving me to redo my entire phone screen. It was a huge pain. I loved having GIFs and a retro iPod on my screen, but I like being able to load my texts and make calls more. In the end, it wasn’t worth it at all.

Life time premium. So upon getting this up I realized I had to upgrade a premium to be able to access the witches, I wanted for instance the digital Pokémon. Well a proceeded to purchase the premium plan because it was discounted and it said that I could get get it for $19 and some change and I would have it for lifetime. Period so I purchased a plan thinking it’s going to be around $19 due to discount, but I soon realized that they charged me $50. I tried to message them in many ways have not heard back from them. Just to see what might’ve happened because I only purchased that one plan that was advertise for around $19. The time limit was still valid and was not expired when I purchased since I just downloaded the app the same day and only purchased within the first hour of getting the app. I actually really enjoyed what the app had to offer. But from that incident and not hearing back from anybody about what had happened it ended up making me not like the app anymore. I just could not justify having to spend $50 when it was advertised for $19. Hopefully someone will read this and get back to me. But just from my experience so far I feel like that’s likely to happen. I highly suggest being careful when you use this app because if you run into any problems, you’re more than likely, not going to get them resolved in a timely matter or at all.

Scammer do not buy. They have turned off their comments on Instagram for a reason. I bought the subscription so I could have the Pokémon Dynamic Island. It works but a lot of other things in that app require an additional purchase (then what’s the point of the subscription). I’ve tired to install a themed style now but it won’t work. They give no tutorials, no video, nothing. This is not user friendly and I do not understand the purpose of the subscription other than trying to get more money for their subpar products. The Dynamic Island Pokémon may look cool but this app offers absolutely nothing satisfactory after that. If I could give it negative stars I would. -1/5 stars

Good app for a while but. I’ve been unable to post any themes for like three days now, every time I press post on any draft it just stays frozen on a certain percent like 3 or 32 for an indefinite amount of time. I’ve only waited up to twenty minutes. I tried contacting the support team but the email is either false or outdated and they don’t respond on socials. I would’ve tried deleting and reinstalling the app but that would’ve made me loose all my hard work. Again, I’ve found no way to contact the support team so it makes for an unpleasant experience with this app.

So “Handy”!. This app eliminates the confusing and time consuming process of creating shortcuts entirely. All you have to do is select a pack, select the icons you want to use and tell the app which ones to link if they haven’t linked automatically and poof! You get to play with your own layout a bit to do some spring cleaning with your home screen as you set everything up, and it always comes out looking great! The app even has a widget function to let you change themes whenever you like! The customer support the app has is so useful and friendly! I had a minor glitch with my phone and they helped me quickly fix the issue, then they helped explain what went wrong so I can avoid it in the future. I can’t recommend this app more!!!

Misleading!! Don’t waste your money.. I was shown an ad that said $0.67 per week or something for ~all access~ and ability to “cancel at any time”. When I realized I wasn’t going to use much of what was offered for free within 20 minutes of subscribing, I went to cancel and it says I was charged for the full year ($31)…? Why say “$0.67 per week, cancel anytime”? I shouldn’t be charged for the full year if the promotion was truthful. UPDATE: I cancelled the subscription because I didn’t want to forget next year and be charged $30 again, and once I did that the widgets on my phone stopped working. If I PAID $30 for the year, they should STILL WORK until the year is up. This was so frustrating. Luckily I filed a complaint and got a refund.

Finally an app to manage themes. This app is a really wonderful idea, I’m always looking to change or update the theme of my phone and this definitely cuts down on how longs that takes. The only issues I think could be fixed are getting rid of the white blank screen that opens anytime an app is opened (it just sits in the background and doesn’t go away unless you close it) and when the themed apps are opened the titles of those apps just say ‘Untitled’ instead of the name of the application itself. Other than that I’m glad this ma agent app exists 😃

A lot of issues. After using the app for around a year now, I think the overall app is okay, however some issues I’ve noticed: Recently I noticed that a lot of the gifs I uploaded on the app are no longer loading on my phone. Certain gifs load fine, however many other gifs will show a green screen but never actually load (the gifs would load a few months ago but then stopped recently). My internet is excellent, the app is up to date, my iOS: 17.6.1. There should be an option to turn off watermarking since a lot of the content on the app is featuring other artist’s artwork. I’m unable to delete downloads that are located in the Library section under my profile. I would like to download more than 50 widgets from one post (if possible). It would also be great if there was an option to shuffle Dynamic/GIF images under the widget options. Would like to have the ability to follow someone’s profile.

Bug fix needed. I’ve used this app multiple times on many devices. I love the app, but the searching won’t work for me. Every time I try to type in some thing it won’t pull up anything I think there is a bug in the system. I have used this app for years and now suddenly it’s not working and I’m confused I have tried closing out all my apps and it did nothing please patch this!

Awesome app!. This app is so good, I love how your giving all of the artists a chance to make their work get published, I love how simple it is and it’s just 3 clicks to set up such an cute home-screen and have such cute app icons- I’ve been telling all my friends about it, but my only concern is that i’m having some troubles with selling my work, I honestly spent about 6 hours of my life drawing all of these icons and stuff and I can’t even make a buck out of it, im still trying to figure out what it means by “haven’t set up your mail yet” and I do not wanna link any social media or emails onto my account-

SOOOO much easier to get custom icons and widgets. Ever since apple rolled out the option to use custom icons and widgets, I’ve always had such a problem trying to remember how to do it and always got so frustrated! Handy makes this a MILLION times faster AND easier! Plus, I can support my favorite artists right from the app! SUCH a great idea and will definitely recommend to anyone who loves their custom icons and widgets!

Subscription randomly stopped working?. I felt silly paying for this, but I wanted to try it out. The widgets I used were very cute, but not worth actual money imo. And they didn’t update themselves, you have to click on the widget to sort of wake it up and sync it to the Handy app. Which is annoying. And then today, my subscription just stopped working for no reason. Apple says I’m still subscribed for a whole year, but the app itself says it’s under a different account? Which is literally impossible. So I’m just cancelling, deleting, and washing my hands of this experience. $20 down the drain, I only had the app for a couple of weeks.

not worth the price tag. I’d rather pay $4.99 one time for an app than add another subscription to the pile. You are going to lose out on customers and money from your greed. You can still monetize, but the subscription service leaves a bad taste in everyone’s mouths. Scroll through the 20 most recent reviews, all of them have issues with it. Again, I would happily pay ONE TIME for an app like this. So instead of getting 100 customers’ $5, you’ll have to settle for a small few gullible consumers who will pay monthly. I’d be surprised if any of the positive reviews come from real people. Everyone knows the App Store pushes positive bots over real reviews. It’s a great idea, who wouldn’t love a tiny Pokémon in their top bar? It could be extremely popular but you have shot yourselves in the foot with the subscription.

Draining battery life and subscription. I didn’t mind paying for the themes, as I was supporting small art businesses (never bought subscriptions) BUT idk after the latest update… My phone was dying FAST! It was insane. I checked the battery usage and handy app was active at all time (screen idle) and it even said “audio” so I’m confused why was handy was even using my audio? Why is it listening in the background when none of the handy app uses audio. My phone screen was off and all app is closed but for some reason handy app activity was on for no reason and was draining my battery… it was honestly so irritating and disappointing. I also hated the constant pop up of “pay for subscriptions” every time you click on a new page. I uninstalled the app entirely and removed everything.

Don’t get this app, it’s a waste of time and money, developers don’t even care about it anymore.. Hello, I had left a review on the App Store (that hasn’t been replied to yet), and I’ve tried to email the developers, but every time I tap on the email link on the app, the app crashes, so here I am, replacing my old review with a new one. I purchased the Joy Club Membership and I’ve been having complications with it. Firstly, an icon pack that I purchased with my own money by a creator on your app, has Lock Screen GIF widgets that aren’t working, they don’t load, and are just little squares. Please fix this, I paid money for this and would like to use EVERYTHING I paid for without complications. Secondly, the icons packs and widgets that become free with the Joy Club Membership are nice, but one thing I don’t like is how I have to “install” them in order for them to be on my home screen, i don’t like doing that and I’m more comfortable with the apple shortcuts method, as I’m not constantly having to close an “app” that opened alongside the app in the background. Not sure if it’s always been like that, but I don’t like that I can’t just save the app icon pictures and manually add them to my Home Screen myself. Please consider changing that. Please look at this, I’ve already left a review and it’s hard to get ahold of your email. Please fix these issues, especially the first one, I paid money for your app. I want it to work correctly or else I’m getting a refund. To anyone who’s looking to get this app, I’d say skip past it, this app has basically been abandoned by the developers, they don’t even care about it anymore so why should we? You’re never gonna get a response from these people, save your time and money. You’re better of with Widgy or smth like that instead.

Disappointing. I saw an add for this app showing ppl having song lyrics on their lock screen so I looked into it I read replies saying not a lot costed money and that it was great but found out the opposite when I got it I looked and nothing was free except random stuff from small users using the app and I couldn’t really download anything cuz it would still say I had to have a subscription then I ended up making my own widget but when I tried using it it was so confusing u didn’t just click the widget u already made u have to put a background and other stuff and when I finally got the stuff on it it said I needed the subscription to use the background and other stuff so I gave up such a mess do not recommend

Neat application!. The app is very simple to use and has a very clean UI and interface. There are a lot of cute icons, themes, and widgets to choose from without the need to pay for anything! The main thing that bothers me is that whenever I open any linked application, it opens the Handy app first and then the linked app. It’s pretty annoying, so I hope there is a solution or fix to this soon. It doesn’t look smooth; It actually looks like it glitches out.

Recommended!. I have had the Handy app for about 2 days and its amazing! Everything is under $20 or $10! I also love how you have the option to pay $20 a year! The only thing i’m okay with, but a bit annoyed with, is that every single time you click and app, it takes you to the Handy app for a second, opens a black screen tab, and then sends you to the app. Thats my only concern but, overall its amazing! I thank the creators and Handy for putting so much effort into this app!

Amazing, but a bit expensive.. If there’s anything, I can make wallpapers, get good packs and stuff, but a lot of it costs money and I don’t save up money often which makes it a bit difficult. This app is a useful app but only for people with the money for it, so I’d probably make more free packs and stuff. Yea, I know it’s the creators that aren’t making the packs and it’s the people that download the app, but people should make more free packs. Except for that, ive had a great time creating and making small packs of icons and all. And if there’s anything, this app is cute and very useful.

So sad. I downloaded this app because of all the great reviews. When I first opened the app, I could see all the different options but almost all the good ones you needed to pay for it. After some looking I decided to do i later. 2 months later, I opened the app to find that the moment you opened the app the add for the premium subscription pops up. Even though there is an option to close the pop up, it doesn’t work. I tried several times to close it and it never works. It probably didn’t happen to anyone else because of all the positive reviews. This would be such a great app if that didn’t happen to me. I hope it won’t happen to anyone else. ☺️

Genuinely awful. Since the app wants me to write a review I’ll do it. Don’t even bother. Your first 10 minutes of the app is skipping through pages of nothing. Then you finally get through and they ask you to leave a review and then pay HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS to use the app. Are you insane?? And then you say no because they should have free options, you get forced to click through more stuff basically asking you to please spend money on the app they haven’t even let you see yet. You say no twice and then you get in to find that nothing is free. It’s all paid. You wasted about 10-15 minutes of your life. So I’ll spend 2 more to warn anyone who sees to not waste your time and to not spend your money on this awful app.

subscription ad comes up often. this app is really useful to easily setup the cute phone layout you want! my biggest critique is how often their subscription ad comes up when i try to open apps (at least in my experience). i can get past the handy app pulling up the shortcut window then shortly opening up the actual app you selected, but sometimes it's frustrating when the subscription ad shows up especially on apps that may be more time sensitive to access. i can't open the base phone or messages app without getting the subscription ad when i'm trying to contact someone quickly. i understand why they have to display their subscription ad for the users, but i wish it could maybe be off limits on certain base apps that you would need to access quickly so you aren't waiting for the app to load only to see the subscription first before closing out of it.

Misleading Cash Grab. Exactly as the title states. This app is an attempt to get your money. When first installing, it walks you through a series of pressing “next” until eventually you are bombarded with a $30 subscription. There is a tiny X at the top right, however they make it transparent so that you are more likely to fall into their trap of buying a subscription. Then, if you manage to escape their greedy grasp, and you find their marketplace, it’s full of things you have to pay individually for. If you really want to customize your home/lock screen, this app might be useful to you. Just be prepared to pay them a lot of money to be satisfied with how your phone looks. Grimey business practices.

Has much potential. The app is great in many ways, but it has some issues. Some gifs or themes will not work. It’s a hit or miss whether or not it’ll actually show up on your screen. But my biggest issue is with the generic Live Photo album widget. I really wish there was a way to get one Live Photo or gif per widget rather than all of them being the same or switching between photos. That alone would make me rate it 5 stars. Otherwise the app is pretty good and does have things to offer, I just think it can use a little bit of work to stand out.

iPhone 13 Pro battery drained by Handy background activity. I just had to offload the Handy app because it was working in the background constantly for hours while I was sleeping and drained my battery from 100% before I went to sleep to completely empty by the time i woke up 4-5 hours later for work. My morning alarms didn't ring because my phone was completely drained. I then went into my settings and turned the "Background App Refresh" option OFF, but it was STILL working nonstop in the background the whole time. The app was closed out completely and my settings said it was working in the background for the past 4-5 hours. My iphone battery life is at 86% and should have no problems. I got this app to buy cute widget and app icon designs from an artist, but it's been nothing but glitchy (constantly saying my session has expired so I have to open the Handy app in order for my widget to display the artist's designed widget). Also, their developer website has no way to contact them, as the email address provided doesn't even work and my email bounced back.

I luv it some much!!!. This app is amazing!! At first I had some issues because my apple account wouldn’t sync with it, but luckily one of my friends used an easy trick for it to work using tik tok! I’ve custom designed both of my devices with this and it looks stunning! All of the pictures are beautiful and I love the widgets I am able to use! Also when trying to design my own it was so much simpler than I originally thought! Love all of the wallpapers and ways all of the icons are set up! I definitely recommend to those who would love to have cute icons or themes for their devices but don’t want to go through the trouble of setting up shortcuts for it!<3 Thank you so much for making this app, this is one of my #1 favorite apps!

Slightly misleading, not everything works.. I mainly got this app for the Dynamic Island pokemon. Well they give you a timer with an offer to buy the lifetime access or you have to subscribe yearly or annually. Clearly lifetime is better, but it’s not clear if you can ever buy it again after the timer which is really scummy marketing. So of course I bought it and I as excited to install the cool pokemon stuff… only to realize my phone apparently doesn’t support the Dynamic Island despite running iOS 26. I feel like there should be a warning that the Dynamic Island may not be available on all phones. My phone is apparently one generation too old and I didn’t know apparently it’s model specific not iOS specific. A warning at the top of the description would have been extremely helpful. I went with a plain Pokédex widget instead so I could feel like I didn’t waste my money and then there’s only twenty pokemon and none of them are really ones I want. So overall my experience has been extremely disappointing. I don’t think I could find a single theme on the app that was actually free, you either pay individually or need to get the subscription for the app to get anything.

I had a lot of trouble with this app!. It has a lot of great features and things to use but when ever I tried to download or get one it would not show and the buttons stopped working. I refreshed the app multiple times but still nothing. Also I tried opening peoples peoples profiles to see what else they had and it was always close me out to what ever I was looking at before. Maybe it’s just my device or me but I have a feeling that it’s not just me because I got this device 2 days ago!!! If there anything I can do I have probably tried it. This app could be great if it worked better.

Painfully annoying. This app is annoying. From the moment you open it you have to click through a dozen pop up pages just to see what the app is about only to be followed by the option to pay the subscription, of course. And then after that you think you’re finally prompted to look at the app yourself? NOPE! You’re given another pop up this time a fake spin the wheel game to see if you unlock a discount (spoiler alert, you’ll always unlock the discount). Five minutes of clicking through things to FINALLY see what the app offers. The gymnastics alone makes me not want to use this app.

Can’t agree with the direction it’s taking. I follow a handful of artists on social media, and it was so neat to see full icon and wallpaper packs. It was through their promotion that I discovered Handy. As an artist myself, I hoped to create some packs for my own phone and retail (a process I found to be much harder than I anticipated ^^’). Regardless, I still tried customizing my phone through the app, but my biggest concern was that using custom app icons comes with opening a blank page. I can’t stand clutter in any space, but I was hopeful to read older reviews with the same criticism and developers stating it was being looked into. I eventually reorganized my phone with other widget apps, but I still struggled to find a good substitute for custom app icons. With iOS 16, it seems Handy is the only service that can make it happen. Come to find out, the blank page issue has been solved, but it’s locked behind a paywall. I understand this is an indie team, looking to support indie creators by offering a marketplace. However, I think the blank page feature is such a utility thing, that I can’t justify making it a membership exclusive. I was hoping to still use Handy as a marketplace to purchase and sell icon packs, but use a different service to install the icons. Given this feature’s debut already, I’m pretty disappointed. Although it might not be as cute, I might just stick with Shortcuts because the blank page is such a turn-off. I hope the dev team reconsiders this decision, because I believe they have a great product to begin with.

Misled. Downloaded ONLY for the Dynamic Island gif. As soon as I open the app I’m bombarded with a series of what are essentially ads for their different features and widgets, followed by multiple immediate attempts to get me to pay for the subscription before even getting to use the app. All of this was unskippable. Quite literally it forced me to spin a stupid wheel for a stupid discount I never planned to use, and when it didn’t give me the “gift”, landing on the 10% discount, it FORCED me to spin again saying “here’s another spin on us” I DIDN’T WANT THE FIRST SPIN. I closed the app and reopened hoping to just skip that entirely. As I scrolled through the rest of the app, everything on the home page requires a subscription, there are some standby widgets that seem cool but pointless for me. And looking through the “Free Joy Club” section, I was mistaken to think this meant the free portion of the app, no, these are free items you get with the subscription. I assume this means even with the subscription, you still have to pay out of pocket for more. Eventually I found some work by another user on the site that had some independent work that was free. I downloaded it, went to implement it, just to find out, you need a subscription to use ANY of the gif features. What a waste of time. Then in the process of writing this review, I turned my phone off for a second, and came back to another freaking AD for the subscription on my lock screen. I’m deleting this immediately. Probably one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had with an app. If this were a paid app, with a smaller subscription, I would have absolutely bought into it. But I was led to believe I could get something for free only to be bombarded by ads for a subscription at EVERY TURN. Genuinely a disgusting experience. If you’re willing to pay for the subscription, and KNOW that’s what you’re getting into, it might be a fine app. Personally I won’t be using or recommending to anyone though.

given up after too many crashes. I really wanted to use this app, but during the icon linking process it crashes any time I exit the app to view my home screen, which is frustrating because I’m just trying to reference which apps I have on which screen. After every crash it doesn’t remember anything you put in previously. I tried three times, all ending in a crash, and ended up uninstalling. I would be able to use this app if the issue of not being able to leave the app while linking is fixed.

Run, don’t walk, away!. Handy IS what it claims to be, an Indie themes marketplace. And you CAN simply pay individually for themes you want. And like most marketplaces, anything worth having is going to cost you. But if you want the ones advertised, created by the Handy creators, you’re going to have to get past the JoyClub paywall. Immediately after opening the app for the first time I was told all the cool things I could get and then prompted to pay a $30/year subscription to JoyClub. I exited and was then immediately offered a $20/year ‘deal’. When I exited that and clicked on a widget, I learned I could also get the subscription for $8/week. Except….. as I was writing this, I came across a tiny gift box in the bottom right corner of my screen, which offered me a lifetime membership to the JoyClub…for $20. It has raving reviews on the App Store, or so it would seem. All their featured reviews are from 1-2 years ago. Anything recent is 1 star all the way, citing broken widgets, login issues, transaction problems, and more. Normally after a preliminary look through an app, I would go ahead and buy a subscription to learn more, but I feel like I’ve seen enough. Just from the randomly changing subscription options alone. While it’s true that there are no Stardew Valley widgets out there, I feel like this one would only disappoint you in the long run. (Also it’s just usually a giant red flag when an app uses protected IP. I also saw Pokémon, Kirby, and Hello Kitty. It’s like they’re begging for a C&D letter) Save your money kids! Run away!

useless app. As with mostly everyone, I got the app to display the cool Pokémon island feature. Well when you first get the app it wants to sell you a subscription which I bought into. What a mistake. FIRST off you would think with the premium subscription you would have access to every pack, well apparently there are *MANY* packs that you still have to buy separately even with the subscription. SECONDLY, with the subscription the GIFs are supposed to run smooth. They do not. They run so slow it’s an eyesore to see on your phone. THIRDLY, there are basically no tutorials or guides or support to help you install and use the app at all. DO NOT GET THIS APP.

Basically unusable, just make it a payed for app. It’s SUPER bold for the app to ask you to rate it after shoving a bunch of ads for their premium version into your face (“Joy”). It immediately hits you with one of those spinning wheel discount things. I gave it a few minutes to redeem itself, exploring the all the free options. There may as well be no free options. You can’t use gifs unless you pay, and that’s even if you find a free widget pack. I do like that widget artists can be payed for their packs, however. I just wish the app itself wasn’t so annoying and limiting for free users.

Such a Cute App!!. Have not had a bad experience! I love being able to make my own icons and widgets. I find it faster than having to use the shortcuts app. If you delete a pack it removes all the apps so there’s no time wasted on deleting the icons on the homescreen one by one. It’s pretty affordable and you get to support small artists on their designs! Only suggestion is to add an option to see if you added the same app twice when linking the icon photos to the app and if there’s a way to make opening the apps go more smoothly because there’s a slight delay/lag but that’s about it <3

Scam.. After cancelling my subscription, this app continuously tried to take money from my account. I have reported this issue many times and it has not being resolved, now resulting in me being unable to install any app. I should not have to pay the full amount for a subscription I cancelled in under 5 minutes, realising the app was not for me. You should be ashamed of yourselves for attempting to scam me. Resolve this issue.

Paid for Member. When I downloaded this app, I was super excited to be able to use the widgets it displayed to make my phone a bit more geekier to match my personality. When the widgets worked, it was exactly what the eye claimed to be and made me very happy Within 4 days of purchasing the $49.99 membership to gain access to the widgets, my widgets now have a banner saying ‘Access Expired’. Going into the app, my account has been restarted, and it’s now offering me another membership to access my already brought widgets!! I’ve tried signing out of my account and re-logging in, but now my username and everything has changed, and I don’t know why Not happy at all, just a cash grab I fell for and have now lost money!!

Why I did not rate this fully!!!. I hate this! You have to pay every widget and it says free but you still have to pay. It’s so frustrating, it’s like a nightmare seeing evening happy but me. Don’t buy this silly app 😡

read before getting. it has alot of cool stuff but damn all of them need joy club, find alternatives like widgetable or even widgetsmith.

How to install???. It’s a really great app and the app icons and widgets are really easy to make but then when I actually try to install my custom icons, it doesn’t install. It will bring me to the Install Complete screen but when I press continue and go to my Home Screen, the new icons aren’t there. I know about the Configuration profile process but the profile doesn’t come up when I go to settings. The first time I tried installing an icon to test if it actually works, it worked, but now it wont let me install my other icons. Please fix the app, it may be a glitch, but I would really like to actually install my custom icons.

Logging in.. Hi, so I saw this app and it looks really cool, but when I went to sign in the only option was with my Apple ID. I’m 12, and you can’t use your Apple ID to sign into apps unless you’re 13+. I might just have to wait a year to use this app, or maybe add other sign in options like with your google account.

A little misleading. While the widgets and everything are amazing, what they don’t tell you is that you still have to pay for the app icons/themes separately. Feels like a waste of money.

Loging in. Hi, widgets are really great, loving it, but i cant sign in with my apple id. Ive already wanted to save and create my own, but it just says, ‘you cant sign in with your apple id.’ Idk if theres something wrong with my apple id on MY end, or if its just a bug. But if its on my end maybe the option to sign in with different things like google. If its a bug, pls fix, because i would love 2 use this app. Thx

Not working. I downloaded this for the iPod widget, it won’t open Spotify and the buttons only work if I spam press them, and even then sometimes they don’t respond at all. What a waste..

Useless without paying. Every cool feature that’s actually usable is locked behind a $7 a week paywall. I’m not paying $7 for smooth gif widgets or a pokemon in my Dynamic Island, sorry. I have reported this app to Nintendo for IP infringement and profiting off their copyrighted materials.

Prices wrong. The prices are wrong. A theme may say it’s $8 but actually it’s 14.99. Same with the one time subscription, it says it 19.95 but when wanting to pay it wants me to pay 29.95. Ridiculous.

Good, Almost Great. This is so close to being the best widget app on the AppStore. But… The only thing lacking is the ability to create widgets with other integrations (health, weather etc.) Yes, you can get features like that from the ‘Handy Team’ or ‘Huiyu’ - but as a user you cannot create them - outside of a normal clock. Other apps do have those features but each lack others (like good gif support) or easy transparency (which is actually awesome by the Handy Team; great work!). If I see an update that brings those extra integrations in, I’ll gladly give a 5 star; to me it is worth 2 stars on a widget app. I hate in app purchases, but honestly, I would be happy to pay for it.

kinda confusing but good. the app itself and what it does is pretty good but maybe i’m just slow but the instructions were kinda confusing and unclear to me 😭😭 i suggest adding more detailed and clear instructions, ESPECIALLY for the live activity lyric widgets where you need to do a ton of different things to get it to work, like allowing different permissions and having to add the small widget to ur homescreen first. i learned that the hard way 😭

This app is totally useless.. I downloaded some widgets for my IPad. When I go to add the widgets however, the first steps say to hold down on the screen and click the plus sign then find the Handy widget. But Handy doesn’t show up. So I’m unable to add anything to my Home Screen.

App is a scam. Paid for a year membership only to log into my account and not have the membership I paid for. Keeps asking me to sign up for one even though I just got one. Tried emailing the email they have for support only to be told the email address is invalid. This app needs to be taken down ASAP this is a full blown scam never experienced something like this

Disappointing. I saw this fun app on tiktok hoping that it would be good but after downloading I couldn’t get a single thing without using money. I’m not it a good place to spend money on an app that is for expressing and showing off stuff I like. I honestly just wanted to show my lyrics when I’m listening to music on my Lock Screen but I couldn’t even do that. 😕

Stolen art and overpriced widgets. Very few free options that aren’t uncredited, stolen art screeshotted from Pinterest, and the cute options are like $8 for a clock widget. Cute idea, but needs better options.

Cute options but problems. I love all of the super cute art and don’t mind buying themes at all. Once you understand how to use the app, it’s pretty easy to use. I’ve had a couple problems with it though. When I open safari, it opens an entire new tab instead of leaving off where I was. It’s not too bad, annoying if I accidentally tab away, which is also a problem. To tab over to the last thing I was on, I need to swipe twice... Swiping once will bring me back to the same app instead of the last app I was on. It’s sometimes a bit slow opening apps and my tabs screen…. Hope to see improvements and hopefully some new options too!

Not So “Handy”. I went to get this app for free. I downloaded it and then told me I had to pay for it. It seemed it was free, so I kept going to see if it was just a premium thing. So I went on but then when I kept going I clicked on one of the categories and it said that I still had to pay. I was not happy with what happened in the app. So I will definitely not be installing this app again.

So helpful!. Bought this cause I saw Baomii’s art! It was a little difficult to set up because I’ve never set up icons or edited anything but the developer was so helpful on their discord server and I love my new phone icons and wallpaper 🥺🥺

Cool, but…. Ok so I love the themes and the widgets that this app offers, but all of a sudden the Handy icon appeared on my Dynamic Island and even if I closed the app it wouldn’t go away, every time I clicked on my island, it opened the app and played an ad to join their subscription. So essentially I had an ad stuck on my Dynamic Island that wouldn’t go away until I removed the app. That’s honestly super gross.

Could not get widgets to work.. Bought a pack, and got the widgets to show a theme but after a while, I log back on my phone, and the themed widgets I had set up earlier were back to the green widget that says long press to edit. When I try to edit, it just says no options available. I hope this will get fixed soon, because it truly is an amazing app.

Why is it not free?. So i downloaded this app because I keep seeing this be8ng recommended. When I tried to make a account I realized that I can’t use my Apple ID to make accounts, But I know that I don’t have TikTok and I don’t have a account. And my parents Would NEVER let me buy a subscription just to keep the widgets. I would give this 3 stars if it was free.

Love it but could use a light touch up. It is easier to make your widgets and such but it is hard to find them free without paying all that money a month.

Good!. Some of the widgets cost money but it’s a one time fee Tons of free user made themes! If you’re having trouble uploading your own theme, try uploading it with only one image and then editing in the rest

Cute but misleading Advertising.. When I saw the ad for this app I got super excited because it presented itself as a widget app with cheap/free widget designs that are well made. However for the well made and good deal widgets you have to spend either $30 a year or $7.99 a week without any free trial to test and see if you even like the widgets or see if they even function well. So this is a no from me.

Such a smooth app!. super easy to download and install my new baomii icon pack! the transition to the app is so smooth and has the added cuteness of the icon! would def use and recommend 🤍

still a jump. i downloaded this because the promotional twitter video i saw said that there’s no jump unlike when you save a shortcut bookmark. however there is still a jump on all the apps. i regret not just testing it out on a few apps first because it also cleared all the data on my browser, the tabs i had on everything are gone, and they didn’t get saved either so for example i have to re-sign into websites, wordle streak is lost, even the history has been obliterated. i had a few to-read pages open that are now lost 🥲 seems like this works for other people but for new users i suggest testing it out first instead of just trusting to go all-in

Do Not Download!!!. Do Not Download!!! It’s very glitchy and you can’t even look or type what you are looking because it’s glitches and freezes every second so just image what it will do if you try to download a widgets and you can’t get pass it not only that but the widgets run your battery and overpower your phone so I will not recommend 🤬🤬😕

Tried again and again!. I got the app seeing it from Pinterest, downloaded it. I picked a cute design, everything seemingly went well. Picked the apps, made sure everything I did was correct. Followed EVERY step correctly, and did everything it told me to. Logged in, allowed, etc. I watched the add, as I had just gotten it. I hit “complete”, nothing. Reloaded, turned it off, tried again. Nothing. It looked the exact same, I did everything correct, nothing.

Really good app but there’s a lot of ifs and buts when you hit install and do the app stuff and then hit done it makes you go through ads you do the thing to set it up and it does nothing and then I have to redo it five more times just for more ads handy please take out the ads there’s you can’t really do anything the stuff except for the free stuff but there’s like five in the whole app and that’s why I gave it a two star bye✋😊

How there is some free widgets. It good but I’m confused. The app is good itself I found lots of cute icons and widgets for me to use but when I downloaded a widget and tried to put it on my Home Screen when I clicked on themes and widget it said I didn’t have any widgets.

Pay for everything. Every advertisement I’ve seen for this app has the music widget on it but it says nowhere that you have to pay for it and every other thing on the app. I understand if you want to have everything cost money but please mention it somewhere.

Why doesn’t it work?. I saw all the reviews and thought this app would be great to download! But then when I got it, the icons I put on my apps didn’t even show up! And I can’t figure out why. This is extremely frustrating because there is nothing I can do about it. And it looks like no one else has had this problem. And now the app I kinda useless to me just because of this!

SSL error. I’ve reached out via multiple methods and can’t seem to get a response. I’ve deleted and redownloaded and nothing changed. So I can’t even use the app that I’ve already paid the subscription for.

No help button and instructions. So I saw this app through TikTok and loved it and many great reviews. But when I tried to go in where in the video showed the install button I would see the button to purchase a bundle and I tried to see if there was a help button but there wasn’t.

Totally download this app!. So i really like this game. i can get whatever icons i want but just one problem, how do i delete a whole set without having to just go to each icon and clicking delete?

MONEY HUNGRY. So I found this app on tiktok and I was like ooh I'm tired of having to keep opening my phone to look at the lyrics so I wanted the iPod widget turns out you either have to get a monthly or weekly subscription or pay 6-8 bucks on something you could just get for free same for the wallpapers I deleted the app as fast as possible there is no free things so much for a lovely affordable app😒

Being patient for the future performances.. This app features tons of widgets and obviously my favorite one is the lyric one, Granted it’s a little delayed but I’m hoping they optimize it as much as possible in the future where it goes faster.

definitely cute, but needs some work.. I got an ad for this and I was so intrigued by it that I downloaded the app and bought the widget where the lyrics show up on my Lock Screen. It was going good but it glitches out sometimes and I have to fix it myself. What’s the point? I was so excited and now I’m just bummed that I wasted $4 on it.

My review. It’s overall good and everything is cute and all but to be real it’s very pricey and almost everything I come across cost money for some reason and like it said it can display lyrics for a dong you listen to, it’s true but that also cost money and a lot of people don’t have the money to make their phone aesthetic so yeah

Ummm. Ok so i downloaded this because it looked like it had some really cute themes, widgets etc, etc. But the problem is i can’t access any of those things because the only way it will allow me to sign in is with my apple ID, however I then get a little notification saying that my apple ID doesn’t allow me to sign into apps with it. I’m not sure if there’s another way, but if there is, i have no idea where it is.

I want a refund. They lead you to believe that once you pay for the subscription then you’ll have access to all these amazing things but that isn’t the case at all. Even after you pay for a subscription you still have to pay to download about 3/4 of the content of this app. I want my subscription to end immediately and my money returned to me

Cool stuff on it but can’t make account. So I got this app just to get some cool wallpapers for my iPad and I tried to make an account, but it says my Apple ID won’t work. So I clicked the button to sign up another way, but I can’t have TikTok. Otherwise, there is great content!

everything is just money money money. All the good widgets are just money and you have to buy a subscription to just have a little picture on hire device not worth it when there are other apps I don’t recommend it. It also started lagging out my ipad.

“Purchase failed” problem. Hello, so I just downloaded this app because I was interested in the iPod Music feature. I was about to pay for the $0.38 / week subscription but it kept on saying “purchase failed” and im really confused!! Is there a way to fix this or is it just a minor glitch right now?

i love this app!. This app is so cute!! I love how there's so many cute features it provides you. the subscription is definitely worth it ! my only complain is that "create user name" page won't load, but other than that, it's amazing!!! Thank you for your service!!

overcharged for nothing. I tried to use a theme but there weren't enough widgets and weren't enough icons for each color for me to create a cohesive theme. That aside, i was charged for a membership i didn't purchase. I bought two themes and then deleted the app. Two days later i was charged $10 on top of the $10 i spent on themes i cant even use. the worst part is that i dont know if its gonna charge me again or how to cancel it.

Don't waste your time. Literally the second you open the app, it tries to get you to pay for its subscription service and you have to wait for 5 seconds to close the ad. This happens literally every time you open the app. I like that people can upload free widgets, but they are very confusing to install and it forces you to watch ads to install them. If you want money that badly, just make the app a 1-time purchase for $1-2

Good but make more sign in options. I love all the themes but I would like new sign in options instead of only apple (overall good app and I like how you can support your favorite artists directly:))

Live Activities Music. The music live activity only shows the lyrics on a black background. but its a transparent background thats advertised. how can i fix this? besides that i love the app.

Seems okay. The issue i’m having is how non-user friendly the app is. there’s no search function i can see and the wallpapers i want open up a blank page and k can’t even click on the user who made it. so frustrating.

slow but works. I bought the Ipod Lyrics Prompter. It does work but it does take a bit of time to catch up and I noticed some songs it stays freezes on the lyrics and doesn’t sync with the music. The pop ups to pay monthly or weekly can be frustrating as well.

Ehhh... The app is great and has a lot of fun things. You would probably want to add to your wallpaper. But you have to pay for everything and when it says it’s free it’s always free for people who have their membership. The app has potential, but you have to pay for everything. And some people just want to decorate their wallpaper.
