The main reason I gave it 3 stars!. I’m gave this app 3 stars instead of 5 is because of the way the coin/ pearl point system works. Not everyone can afford to buy these pearls so it very much limits how much you can read in 1 day, maybe it would be better if f every chapter cost like 15 pearls or so! I understand that that’s how the authors and the app get paid however the inconsistency of the pearls (cost ) could be better. If that were to improve I could see myself giving this app a higher rating and would consider boasting about it to friends and family!

CHARGING TOO MUCH-CONS WHO SCAM. I as others started reading a book on Facebook. I as others downloaded this app. I as others also spent a little bit not much to continue reading but for a book that has 3000+ chapters that are only 1-2 pages long if that of a normal book this is a rip off. The stories are great but you charge too much. I hope everyone else is smart and sees how big of a rip off this one is. I know these are authors trying to make it in the real world but charging what you do for coins is outrageous. The option for free pearls isn’t enough and the ads don’t even exist to play for free pearls it always errors. Some of these novel apps do daily reading times instead of weekly for free coins or pearls. Once I’m out of coins and pearls I refuse to spend anymore of my own money on a story that’s is going to cost me well over $100 to finish.

The Best App To Read Books. I’ve been reading books on Joyread for about 3 years now and I absolutely love this app. My favorite genre of books to read are “Rebirth” and “Werewolves”. I like that they give you free coins. Joyread is also the first app I’ve spent money to actually read the books. The books on this app is very well written and the plots twist in some of this will definitely catch you by surprise and make you want to continue to read the following chapters.

App glitch. I have never left a negative review for app before until today. For two days straight, I have been having trouble with getting my app to log back in. I have came out of pocket to purchase pearls and I can even benefit from them. I finally was able to get somebody on chat and he just told me oh it’s a problem with it not been up-to-date. We fixed it, I let them know that my apps are all clear my browser history I restarted my phone and reconnected my Internet as well after some of that I have not had a response since I am so ashamed of this app I really like some of these authors and the function of this app is taking away from their hard work.

Love it, but…. I am currently not able to afford to pay to read, so being able to watch ads to unlock chapters is great. BUT… I find it very frustrating to be limited to a couple of chapters at a time. Why add the forced wait? Why not just make me watch more ads? The ads are where you get your income from me. By forcing me to wait you are limiting your own income. It makes no sense, and annoys me no end. When I start a book I like to read it to the end at my own pace. Due to the forced wait I will be deleting the app once I finish the book I am reading. Great read, but I have no patience with the forced waiting.

Ridiculously Expensive. I started reading a book on this app, and was sucked in by the plot although the book was clearly not edited at all. Several chapters have spelling errors, and the wrong character names. ( Toby/ Tony, Sonia / Sophia). I was overlooking those errors at first. I found out the app wanted coins to purchase more chapters, so I purchased the $9.99 package, and kept reading. That quickly ran out, and I spent another $9.99 for more coins. After those coins were gone, I went to see how many “chapters” were left. I spend $20 to read less than half of a book. I was only on chapter 78 out of 180, and the first 10 chapters I read were free. So, no I’m not paying $50 to read one book. Complete ripoff, do not start any of these books, save your money.

When there is nothing left but love. What a total disappointment! I got this app based on a quick read on FB. Well, first it wasn’t the story I started or are they all dragged out and I didn’t even get to that part. How is it called a “romance when the lead character is basically getting raped by her husband ( no it wasn’t Dom/Sub relationship where it could be read wrong) I have spent more on this one book then I ever have in a hardcover just released. I spent chapters after chapters reading the same thing with only slight things changing. This isn’t worth the money. I assume from the other reviews this isn’t just the book I was reading.

Steal your Pearls. I initially paid to get Pearls to read the books but I noticed they take away extra pearls before you even opt to read the chapter. For Example, it may say you have 250 pearls and then when you get to the next chapter it says you have 240 and then it says you have to pay 18 pearls to read the next chapter but they already took 10 pearls so now they have charged you 28 pearls to read the chapter. Even if you get a free book and you earn free pearls you will notice that at one point you earned 50 pearls or so and have 300+ pearls and you watch videos to read chapters for free and then at the end of the day you have only 265 pearls. They basically took all the pearls you earned for “free” but took them away even though you unlocked chapters by watching the ads. The stories are good but I won’t pay for the pearls after noticing they they were deducting extra from me. 😡

Too expensive. This app may have some interesting books to read, but the cost to read them could be significantly higher than even the cost of college textbooks. This app takes advantage of readers. I was reading a story that apparently has 1800 chapters give or take. I stopped reading because I’m not about to spend several hundred dollars just to read one book. Whoever created this app clearly only cares about making money. Absolutely greedy. Most people, especially today, don’t have that kind of money to spend just to read a book that otherwise might not likely be published.

Super expensive and inconsiderate. Let me start of by saying that the book I’ve been reading is actually very interesting and I’ve enjoyed it. Apart from that, this app is too expensive. Chapters are about a page and a half of a regular book. Your coins are being used every chapter and before you’ve realized it you’ve ran out of coins on just a few chapters. They seem to be adding chapters to the story as you’re reading to make you spend more and extend the story. Before I started the story of my choice I noticed it was 240 something chapters. I’ve paid so much money just to reach 300 something and now the last chapter is “400+”. Insane !!!!! I’ve spent too much money on trying to finish this story because I do like it but they’re really taking advantage of you allow them. If you don’t mind, you’ll be paying about 200 or more on just 1 story. Please be mindful of this before you even get yourself involved. Just looking out for you and your funds 💕

Read a book a enjoy. I really enjoy this site. Right now I am reading my fist book here. That only because I have eye issues which make reading for any time into either a headache or worse if I continue reading because the book is so good a migraine. I still haven’t found out what to do with all the pearls I collected information would be helped but I honestly look forward to popping in every night

🚨SCAM🚨. Like others are saying it’s a rip off. I tool advantage of the free pearls mentioned by the developers but naturally I wanted to continue reading so I purchased coins and pearls. Each chapter is 9-20 or sometimes even more pearls. As badly as I want to finish the story I’m reading I’m going to delete this app. The story seemingly never ends and after a certain point becomes about completely different characters as if their is a totally different story being told. Don’t fall for it. If you want good quality reads just use an actual ereader app and buy real books or go to the library. If you like comics I highly recommend Webtoons or Manta. More bang for your buck!

Expensive!!. The story I WAS reading was so good, I was addicted! I read like 3 chapters, and then all of a sudden I need coins to unlock more. I figured $10 for 700 coins, sure, it’ll last me a bit and I figure I’m supporting the authors. Then each chapter turns out to be like 40 coins each, and an hour later-BOOM, have to pay another $10 minimum to continue reading. I was REALLY into the story, so I figured, why not, the story is probably almost over. Wrong-the story was 300+ chapters long. I spent $22 to ready 89 chapters (which BTW each chapter is about as long as 2 pages would be in a real printed book). So to finish the book, it’s so much more than I would pay to go to a bookstore and buy a real book from a real author…. I would have gladly paid $20 for the story I was reading, but it said I needed like 8,000 more coins to unlock the remaining chapters, which is a minimum of like $120 more. Ridiculous! Be aware before you get super into a story!!

EXPENSIVE. The stories are quite good, I’ve been looking for weeks for a pleasant werewolf romance story (although there are many, many different tropes and stories available) and this app allowed me to find one which I was very grateful for. Although, you have to pay for each chapter and there aren’t any free trials to even try it out to see if you like it which disappointed me. The book that I’d spent weeks trying to find, I now can’t read because I have to do all these daily log in prize things just to get enough coins to unlock one chapter. It’s not worth it in the end.

Overpriced Nonsense. I read. I devour books. This is absolutely the worst reading experience I’ve ever had. I read through Kindle Unlimited, Audible, Nook, Instaread, Wattpad, Chirp, Smashword, Netgalley and some online based reading sites. Any of them are better than this App. Don’t waste your money. The books I’ve read are ridiculous. It sort of feels like someone wrote the books in a foreign language then used one of those terrible internet translation sites to change it to English. It reads that badly. Then there is the problem with the facts. The books bend procedure, normalcy, reality and science to just make the the books longer. The books are so repetitive that they become annoying very quickly. When I say overpriced, I mean you could buy special edition hardcovers by awesome authors for cheaper than this mess.

A little annoyed. Firstly I would like to say I enjoy this app and the stories. I’m an avid reader and have 40+ book apps on my phone currently and read under to 5 books at a time in each book per day. BUT you all need to fix the current issue with the app. I am currently experiencing not being able to read anything on this app the stories are showing up blank even after refreshing nor can I get to the next chapter. I have entirely too many pearls and coins in this app so plz fix the bug or refund all my money for the remaining in those coins and pearls.

Honest Review. After reading an excerpt, I downloaded this app and decided to give it a try. Turns out, you must purchase coins to read chapters of a book. I don’t mind as I’m an avid reader and know not everything is free. That being said, I like to know I spend my hard earned money on something reasonable and valuable. Anyways, Mind you each chapter are sometimes only 4 - 5 pages and books can be up to 200+ chapters. You aren’t given the option to purchase the whole book for a number of coins, which would be fine but then your also purchasing chapters at different amount of coins for each chapter. Example, one chapter of 10 pages may cost 25 coins versus one with 4 pages may cost 11 coins. I have purchased over 1,200 coins and only reach chapter 70, spending over $20+. To be honest, I felt scammed and have deleted this app since.

App not functioning properly. I paid the VIP subscription and almost at the end of the subscription it stop working properly. Is a problem that needs to be solve by their IT deportment, unfortunately they have a horrible customer service department. They seem to work only one day a week and they are only able to answer basic questions and because my issue involves IT they never answer or transfer my issue. So I have been waiting for almost 2 weeks and my subscription will expire in a few days… the subscription is expensive and it doesn’t give you full access to all the books in the app, beware before investing your time and money in this app.

Not worth it. First time user, won’t be coming back. The book I choose is poorly written (grammar is awful, misuse of words ect) not to mention chapters are out of order and also repeat. You pay for it to unlock and then you just get a repeat of 2 or 3 chapters in a row. Paying could what you probably would have. I paid $4.99 for 350 points chapters are only 20ish points and I only got 3/4 chapters out of that 350. not to mention they seem to be mixing up books, names that have nothing to do with what your currently reading come out of nowhere. App needs a serious makeover. Waste of time and money.

Super deceiving. I saw an ad for this app that specifically pointed out that this app actually let you read for FREE where many other apps made you pay at a certain point. I figured I would give it a try and while the book I was reading isn’t written very well, it was kind of interesting. Of course, I hit a certain point and it wants me to pay. I got sucked into that same trap with another app and refuse to be again. This was so disappointing considering the ad said it was completely free to read the whole book when it wasn’t. Don’t waste your time reading unless you want to spend $30-50 unlocking chapters with no real understanding of what the end cost will be.

Terrible. The content is good. Like many others I started reading something on facebook and ended up downloading the app. I’ve downloaded other novel apps this way too. The problem is, the coins are EXTREMELY expensive in this app. Other apps you can pay to open the whole book. This one you have to pay per chapter and the story I started reading has 500+ chapters. I figured $20 for a book isn’t terrible so bought the $20 coin pack. However, after 200 chapters, I ran out of coins! I’m not going to pay $100 for a book. And the “free pearls” feature is a joke. It costs 10-20 coins/pearls to open a chapter and you can only make 30-40 pearls a day. So you can get 2 chapters a day (which are only about 7 “pages” long). I will definitely be deleting this app.

Terrible writing, too many grammar mistakes. It’s obvious these “books” are translated from people who are not English-native. The grammar, punctuation, and basic writing mistakes are atrocious, to the point that it’s hard to read or understand. I’m not being picky here either, I mean like misspelling and mixing up main character names multiple times. Most of the stories are absolutely ridiculous and sound like they were written by a teenager. There is no way there’s an actual editing process before posting, and the “chapters” are really just pages. The best book on there is A Touch of Sweetness and even it is a little ridiculous because the writing is way too formal for a novel. I wish it would go on Radish - it’s a way better app.

Terrible money grab. I go through ebooks like crazy. I don’t generally like the pay as you go plan for anything but when my instagram kept showing a preview of a book that looked interesting I gave it a shot. You pay for coins and earn pearls that you use to buy chapters. Unfortunately each chapter is at most 3-4 pages long and often ends in the middle of the paragraph with the paragraph continuing in the next “chapter.” I’m over 100 chapters in and there is nothing even close to the preview in the sponsored ad. With the length of the chapters and the cost of coins, it would easily cost over $20 for a falsely advertised story written by an amateur that could easily have been told in a $2.99 ebook novella.

Beware !. Touch of Sweetness a nice I started reading have over 1900 chapters. In order to finish this book one would be spending over $500 if not more. On average each chapter is roughly 2 -3 pages if actually written in a physics book. When trying to reach out to their customer app due to story having several grammatical , spelling, and flow of read mistakes ( mentioning a character or place or thing when it should me another ) they have blocked my emails from coming through. They do not do their due diligence to make sure books submitted are correct and charge a ridiculous amount to read a book by breaking sections down into small chapters and making you pay more to keep reading. It’s unethical and unfair the readers. Greed is what it boils down to .

God of War. Started this because it seemed like an interesting story line although it the grammar indicated it was written by someone from another country. This wasn’t the problem. That started when you had to start buying coins since the pearls you collected on a daily basis where useless. The only way to unlock the next chapter was buying coins starting at 4.99 and going up. To make it worse when you tap on read for 10 more mintues or 60 mintues, it dosen’t work so you are force to buy more coins to continue. Also, it appears the longer it goes, the more writers seem to get involved, the grammar increasingly get worse, to the point of almost making no sense. The final straw is what started as about 350 to 400 chapters has increased to over 1000 chapters with no end in sight. None of the gifts work, none of the pearls work. Nothing work but cash and I’m not sure you are getting the coins you pay for. All this plus a story line that has went to ridiculous is enough for me to call it quits. Take my advice, buy a Kindle or just a good paperback and get something out of it. The only reason I gave it 1star is there is nothing lower.

Their ads are a lie. “Do you miss reading for *free*?” It said. “Get our app now and you can!” What a joke. Chapters 1-12 (which are ridiculously short) are free. Next chapters ALL need coins. We’re talking 36ish coins per chapter to keep reading. How do you get coins? Buying them with real money. You can earn pearls no problem though! What are pearls for, you ask? No clue. How do I get back to the home page from the book I’m currently in? Also no clue. I’ve been closing the app and re-opening it. The tutorial for which buttons do what comes up randomly about 5 minutes after you’ve been stumbling around trying to figure it out.

Price is to high. First what I want to say is, I like the Novel I haven’t read a Novels in decade since I lost interest to it. The this site shows to my Facebook feeds so I start reading it. So I went ahead download the apps , I read till chapter 15 when chapter 16 is lock I have to pay coins or pearls. They have free pearls for new costumer put info and reading in such of time. I’ve collected all those free pearls then starting reading again till I run out off pearls at chapter 20. So I decided to purchase the subscription for $9.99 for coins and pearls. It didn’t take long the 700 coins was used up in chapter 50 something can’t remember 😳 I got disappointed cause I wanna finish the novel that I’m reading. And there I go again I bought another $9.99 coins 700 and 100 pearls in the same day😐👀. I use all that and got to chapter 80’s something. I’m really disappointed 😔. I want to say to the creator of this site to consider the readers to read the novels with the subscription and have the option for some to buy the coins to pay for the novel’s not chapters or let us have the option buy the book then you can satisfy your readers and stay

Lies!. It is not free to read the books on this app, no matter how many different ways they say “stop paying to read” it is literally the same thing as every other one of these apps. Don’t got get me wrong, I love supporting writers! I have 2 huge bookshelves full of physical, tangible, smellable, books. All hardcover I might add, that didn’t cost me more than $40. I think it is incredibly and excessively expensive to pay upwards of $100 for something you will never own. If the books had a set price of $40 a piece, I would devour them! I can’t justify spending so much money on something that you do not own. Set a price up front, stop with the per chapter stuff, no one know exactly how much one of these reads, can’t even call it a book, it’s just a read, will cost them. It’s truly heartbreaking that most of these very good authors will not get the notoriety the deserve, because people will get tries of paying so much for so little in return.

App has gone downhill. The books on here are good but the app is not really worth it. In order to read the books you need pearls and it cost so much to buy pearls. When I first got the app you were able to get 60-90 pearls for free (if you read for a certain amount of time) now you can get around 30 which can buy you one chapter in a book. The chapters are so small too, it takes less than 5 minutes to read. It is not worth the money

Great stories but WAY OVERPRICED!. I have read a few stories on here and I really enjoyed them. BUT the chapters are very very short and the cost is too much. I’m currently reading A Touch of Sweetness and it says there are 3300+ chapters. The story is good but the plot is very repetitive and many grammar and character name mix ups. This apps is not pocket friendly and although I enjoy reading these stories, I have to stop because it’s too expensive and your pearls don’t last long. It’s too bad because I haven’t read in years and I thought this was a good app. Developers: YOU SHOULD JUST CHARGE A SET PRICE FOR THESE STORIES AND NOT WASTE COINS AND PEARLS ON 2-3 swipe chapters!!

Great books on this app but there’s some issues. I wanna start by saying that Joyread has really good stories and has a wide variety of genres, but the more you read the more Pearls(or coins) it costs you for the chapters as well as when I first got the app the videos(Which you can only do 5 times for more pearls) used to be 10 then I noticed it dropped down to 7 and now it’s at 5 (only enough for one chapter maybe two if your lucky) like is this how the developers keep their customers because to be honest with you I love this book app but I’m seriously thinking about deleting it and finding something else if this continues to go on like this, all I want at the end of the day is a good book to read that’s not super expensive and eating into my funds. Please fix this or tell me why you are making the chapters more expensive and lessening the video pearls.

Great reading app. I have subscribed to other reading apps and I must say Joyread is great compared to some. Their stories are very interesting, full of drama and if the story advertise romance and erotica your getting exactly that. The app does not use as many coins per chapter compared to other apps and you have a chance to earn coins/ pearls everyday by checking in and reading which cuts back and how much you spend out of pocket so it’s a GREAT reading app compared to others.

Short chapters, long books, too expensive. The story I started reading has more than 1850 “chapters.” The “chapters” are maybe the length of 1-2 pages of a normal book. Most chapters cost 20+ coins. The story is good, but the writing is just okay. The story would cost around $300 to finish or you can “earn” coins daily. You usually only earn enough to unlock 1-2 chapters which is the equivalent of 2-4 pages/day. If it’s difficult for you to not finish a story, I don’t recommend this app. I actually don’t recommend it at all. They continue to add “chapters” so you have to continue unlocking to finish. Try any other story app instead of this one. Most of the stories on here I’ve actually found on other apps. This entire app seems like a scam.

Clean and user friendly. So far the app is fairly easy to use and has a good variety of stories. Complimentary pearls are always good. Wish there were more free pearls as the chapters tend to be fairly expensive. Especially if comparing to purchasing a full completed novel. Overall the app has a clean appearance, the animation is cute and overall it’s easy to use. Just need to increase the free pearls offer and keep the costs down.

Great reads, but AWFUL APP. So let me start by saying the books are amazing, and i say books in plural because everytime you start reading one you run out of coins and that forces you to start another book. The chapters are unreal, each chapter is like 5-11 pages long and they are short so you have to keep purchasing. If i could purchase the book i would. But buying coins for this crap and all the chapters are different prices makes this app a Joke. And honestly I would be deleting but the free coins are keeping me going a few chapters at a time. But it’s SUPER ANNOYING

$600+ for a single book!. Too expensive. I spent 20 dollars to get about 80 chapters into a 1800+ chapter book. I calculated that I would have to spend hundreds of dollars to finish it! About $650 if I kept buying the $4.99 worth of coins, like I had been. They must be aware that no one in their right mind can afford to spend hundreds on a book, they are probably making a fortune off people buying a few coins, realizing how expensive it is and deleting the app. Of course they advertise their expensive books the most. It doesn’t matter if they have some free books, the fact that the charge hundreds for their paying books is insane! And then they have the nerve to suggest you give gifts to the author, as if they aren’t the ones assigning expensive price tags to their work! If the author is actually worth hundreds per read, then they don’t need gifts, though I wouldn’t be surprised if the authors make a cent for every million they make. I have googled and tried to find anyway to earn chapters for free. And no luck, if it is possible, they are keeping it as inconspicuous as possible. Just read the replies to negative reviews and see how shameless this app is, they know they are ripping readers off, and they have the nerve to act like they’re a charity for readers.

Do not purchase, wish could give no stars but have to select 1 star to review. Stories in app are extremely expensive to finish reading and price is inconsistent chapter to chapter and due to length of chapter. Can’t purchase whole book at once, chapter by chapter. Customer care is terrible, sent them message through app and they never responded then deleted. Then they made it so can’t send a message at all. Obviously not interested in making app user friendly nor appeal to the reader and making it so one book doesn’t cost around $100 to read… never will spend that much on book, espy that has so many grammatical errors and needs professional editing.

RIP-OFF ALERT Cost $100+ to read one Novel. I started reading this book on Facebook. It was interesting and caught my attention so I went ahead and downloaded the app as directed. I continued to read only to find out that I have to purchase coins to continue reading. I said to myself "well its like purchasing a book from the a book store. The only problem is that I'm purchasing chapters that are very short. I must admit the book is so good that I want to continue reading it. At the same time the book has 1700+ short chapters and I will end up paying well over $100+ to finish the book. Another thing, if I'm paying all this money but don't even have audio reading as an option while I'm driving or too busy to sit and read, what's the point. I love the story but once I'm done with my coins, I'm done with the book and the app. Readers should have an option to purchase the whole book at a set price.

Very expensive trap - lure you in with excerpts…. Do the math b4 you decide to buy their coins . Each chapter is very short and the book i got into was over 200 chapters probably more a d to advance beyond chapter 16 you have to pay 10-15 coins per chapter. Do the math and you will find that by the time you have completed the novel you would have paid upwards to $100 per book. I refused to pay for a single coin as this money making structure scams people. The book was free for 1st 16 chapters, then starting on chapter 17 you have to pay coins to advance forward so I scrolled through to see how many chapters the book entailed and i stopped scrolling at chapter200+…needless to say, paying a few dollars for online content is reasonable but hundreds for 1 supposed novel with grammatical errors is outrageous and wrong on so many levels. So I immediately deleted the app - what a waste of my time

Don’t bother. The chapters are too short, filled with grammatical errors and poor sentence structure. Buying the coins and pearls to unlock chapters makes the books over $50 each just to finish them. Some can be even more costly. Even playing the games to earn pearls doesn’t get you far. They get you hooked with the first 20 chapters, there seems to be very few errors in the first chapters, once you burn though all options for free pearls and you start buying them, the sentences start to make less sense with more spelling errors. By then though, you’re just trying to finish the book. I also found that it seems you spend both pearls and coins at the same time when unlocking characters. By the time you run out of the coins you’ve paid for, you’ve conveniently run out of pearls too. 🤔 Just don’t bother getting started.

What a mess. They lure you in with the promise that you won’t have to pay to continue reading but it’s a lie. Too expensive and the stories are poorly written. As a published author I lost count of the punctuation and grammatical errors. Story goes nowhere. Each chapter is the same just different situations places. Basically a rinse and repeat chapter. The one I was reading had 2,503 chapters! I overlooked all the errors and missed words and mixed up names and kept reading. Almost every sentence ends with an exclamation point (!) but I continued to read until I had to pay! I’ll stick with WATTPAD which truly is FREE and has hundreds of book choices, something for everyone. Many of the stories there have won awards and have been published. Run away from these fly by night apps that promise the are free until they aren’t.

Last update ruined it. I like the app. I found some stories I’ve really enjoyed. The stories are available free other places but I enjoy this app and the lack of ads. I spend more money on this app than I did with others, but I also felt their free pearl opportunities were good. However, the last update really reduced the number of pearls available. Especially the daily check in pearls. If the pearls aren’t increased, I’ll probably cancel my subscription and use the free apps with ads.

They advertise free stories nope. They advertise free stories which is so far from the truth they give you a bit of the story for free. Then start charging by the chapter. They also say they have a subscription which I have yet to find. The stories are good but I do not think that we should have to pay more than an actual book for one. They need to find a better way. I get that some of them are incredibly long but I can get books for 5 dollars that are excellent and do not nickel and dime me. Ten dollars for a few chapters is crazy. This app has so much potential and I love supporting writers but not when things are built on deception.

You may be tempted, but DO NOT download this app!. I started reading a book that was engaging and immediately drew me in. I’m an avid reader and quickly went through the first chapter (ridiculously short chapters that are about 2 pages worth of material in a regular book). Unfortunately, I extremely disappointed to find that this “free app” is nothing more than a money making scheme! You are required to purchase coins or pearls I order to keep reading one chapter at a time. The ridiculously short chapters are all pay as you go after chapter 15 and the books are over 3500 chapters long. If you fall for the scam you’ll end paying over $200 for a single book! The complaint I had went nowhere and it’s a simple recommendation to utilize their free reading options (laughable). They have the same stock answer for every complaint. If you are person who likes to read very little over a great length of time and pay insane amounts of money for a book, this ap is for you! If you love a great story and enjoy paying 20$ and reading a book cover to cover once you start, DO NOT get this app!!! Your experience will be to the contrary! WORST APP EVER!!! Don’t waste your time getting hooked on a story you won’t get to finish! If there was an option to not give any stars in this rating I would. 1 is the lowest so that’s what I give!

Rip off-. The stories have interesting - hook plots but some portions are simple in development & current book has over 400 chapters costing 22 coins approx a chapter, leading to the story costing over $100+ if I wanted to finish it. And there is not real deals for buying coins or getting chapters. And the chapters sometimes are only 4-5 pages, but not true book pages, so ultimately 4 chapters is a real book chapter. Other apps are much better if looking for reads similar with Dreame is one that has other ways to earn coins /chapters and much more affordable. Decided to bail on the story because not reasonable to spend hundreds when other books out there for less.

Price is Outrageous. The cost is simply outrageous. Instead of paying a regular price for each book, you purchase pearls and it costs about 30+ pearls to read 8 to 10 pages. I wasn't a quarter of the way through the book and realized I had already paid $50. I looked at the number of chapters remaining and calculated it would cost over $200 to finish. What??? A movie collection, an entire encyclopedia set does not cost this much. They should realize instead of masterminding a few people into paying $100s of dollars is not as lucrative as having 1000s of people pay a decent price. Great books. The stories are great eye-catching. Some titles are hard to find. However, please do not get stuck in the rabbit hole that I have been in where are used to reading the few chapters that are available and next thing you know it’s a 240+ chapter book that you have to continue with Lee by calling packages for an a book that would have been five to $10 or any other app has now cost you over $200.

Disappointed. I have always enjoyed reading. This app when I first started using it was wonderful, and not too expensive, plus they gave quite a few good bonuses to receive free pearls. I would spend extra cash and didn’t mind, because they were good about giving you extra points to read. Sadly to say now the prices of several books have gotten more expensive and the extra incentives for free pearls have significantly reduced. It sometimes costs $100 or more to complete a book, which is entirely too expensive. Really beginning to be disappointed and ready to delete.

Enjoying the App. I love the app so far. I only downloaded it to read 1 story to be honest. I wasn’t sure at first because of some of the reviews complaining about paying to read. Very costly. This is an absolute rip off, you pay for every chapter. I started reading one and thought I would pay not knowing it would drag out .thinking with the mediocre story line it couldnt last that long. W. Story was intriguing at first , wrong spelling and wrong reference on character ( lacking of prof reading) but then it dragged out. Because you have to pay per chapter ( which was only four paragraphs) and spent two paragraph repeating what happen in the last paragraph... it ridic how much you'd be spending. Deceptive. Downloaded this reading app after it advertised on Facebook that ALL of its books were FREE. This couldn’t be further from the truth. After reading a number of chapters, the only way to continue was to purchase further chapters, which didn’t even see me to 10% of the novel. Compared to Audible or Apple bookstore, this is a rip-off, and certainly misleading according to the advertising. I don’t recommend at all.

One of the best e-novel apps. This app is hands down amongst the best of the dozens of apps for reading e-novels. Points are straight forward. No spending hours playing games and watching stupid videoes for useless points that don’t convert 1-1 into coins (like MoboReader!). The only time you watch a video is to unlock chapters and Athen it’s only one video that ends as soon as 30 seconds click by. Cost per chapter is reasonable and the book selection is good as well. Well done! I’m deleting the rest of these apps.

Customer Service!. Extremely bad customer service. I paid to receive 1400 coins and 1120 pearls and instead got the opposite, so went to chat to one of the customer service team and he was not understanding at all. I just wanted to get what I paid for, instead he made it seem like it was my fault and that it said that it would be swapped around when I paid for it, which it did not or else I would not have purchased it. I would have liked to have given it 5 stars but my issue is I get hooked and read many many chapters where each chapter is released by watching ads but then it gets down to like the last 10 chapters where you can only finish the book by using pearls/coins. All of Us. The book that I’m reading is costing me more than 5 brand new hardcover books. Also, it needs heavy editing as there are parts where the sentence structure is just bad. Continuity needs addressing. Two of the main characters are allergic to shellfish in the beginning and a couple of hundred chapters they are not. What I’ve read so far, 300+ chapters (there are over 1,100 chapters) could be boiled down to maybe 20. I could’ve gotten dozens of better written ebooks than what I’ve spent on just this one.

Go to BookBub or Kindle and get books for less. You can get an entire book for less than $5.00, have great reading experiences and complete the books without waiting for the author to upload ongoing chapters. Loosing interest. Most of the books are poor in grammar and are still expensive (not free). You have to obtain pearls by watching ads and where you used to get 10 per ad it’s now 5 per ad. If you have a book that takes 50 pearls to unlock then you might be saving pearls for a few days just to read one chapter. It’s starting to be a rip off. Side note: some books are now 50 pearls some are cheaper. However those books are the ones with the most grammatical errors and also they tend to jump around and loose focus on their own book so it tends to be very confusing.

How do I get back to the home page from the book I’m currently in? Also no clue. I’ve been closing the app and re-opening it. The tutorial for which buttons do what comes up randomly about 5 minutes after you’ve been stumbling around trying to figure it out.

Expensive and unfinished. They get you hooked the in the end you spend a lot of money reading just to find out the story isn’t complete. VERY DISAPPOINTING. You should charge a set price for each book. You are ripping people off because having to buy coins/ pearls never stops. Yes I have read your response on other reviews but just charge a flat rate and you would get better reviews as well as customers.

Princess with Eight Uncles. Really enjoying the read. Just slightly disappointed about having to spend money to continue reading. Earning pearls was good. But then at a certain point it would not let me earn pearls. Would be great if there was just consistency on being able to use pearls to continue reading

VERY EXPENSIVE. The price is very expensive! For two half-days of reading I paid $40; and there is no end to the story. $40 - is a price for a good hard cover book now; for a soft cover - $20. I have decided not to finish the story and remove the application from my phone. It is not clear how many chapters there are. I decided to quit on chapter 240 or so. For kindle books you pay a fraction of the price. One of the readers mentioned she paid $200 for the whole story. I would stay with the application for $15-$20 per story, but not the price they charge.

It’s too expensive!!. Some of these stories are actually interesting and you want to finish them but at the rate they are charging it will cost over 200 dollars to read unfinished book I’m all for supporting artists but that is crazy considering i can go to the book story and buy a completed work for 10-15 even 20 30 dollars it’s crazy to pump out stories like this and try to rake in all this money and the subscription is no better and the app doesn’t give you much detail into what you’re buying anyway or how it will delve out more coins either beware before you download

Horrible Experience. Let me say the stories are engaging. If I could rate this app a 0 start I would. The app is a rip off, you end up paying more than $200 for a book to find out that it’s still not complete. The coins and incentives are also deducted incorrectly almost double. I’m surprised by how many low ratings that this app still has a high average and I’m surprised Apple Continues to allow it on their platform with how dishonest this app is about their tactics. Don’t fall for the app, don’t buy any coins don’t even play their daily games, stay away from this app.

Not worth it. First time user, won’t be coming back. The book I choose is poorly written (grammar is awful, misuse of words ect) not to mention chapters are out of order and also repeat. You pay for it to unlock and then you just get a repeat of 2 or 3 chapters in a row. Paying could what you probably would have. I paid $4.99 for 350 points chapters are only 20ish points and I only got 3/4 chapters out of that 350. not to mention they seem to be mixing up books, names that have nothing to do with what your currently reading come out of nowhere. App needs a serious makeover. Waste of time and money.

Good but false advertisement for ads. Honestly it’s a great app but the past few so called updates have ruined it. it says watch video for coins but then wants you to click all these pictures over and over to qualify as watching an add and then sometimes it will actually allow you to watch and ad for the coins. It’s sad that there pushing you to buy the coins but then each chapter is different priced so it’s hard to calculate if even that is worth it or not. It used to be an amazing app with great stories but sadly its been ruined

Don’t purchase book that still “on going”. Please make sure you check the status and the price of the book before you start reading. Lesson learned, if the book still “on going” please don’t purchase it because it can become “unfinished “ story. And when you want to know when the author will be updating, never get the answer. Don’t waste your money for unfinished story!!

They listen to feedback. At first it was too expensive to continue reading the book. I love the story and felt sad because I was going to stop reading once coins were used. I wrote and expressed my concerns. A few days later a rewards program was released with multiple was to earn coins for free. It has kept me reading without spending a lot of $.

Don’t use this app. It’s really expensive. False advertising that the book is free.. The book I am reading through this app is quite good so far. However, instead of saying, the book is free, which is false advertising in order to go past chapter 15 you have to pay. And you have to pay quite a lot much more than you have to pay for a physical book in the store. I would rather buy a book in the store or a book like a Kindle book which has a set price and you know it upfront. I wouldn’t use this app.

Night of destiny. It’s an amazing book, but sadly, it’s far from free…. Also, one involved with law, has to remember that the headliner “says it’s completely free”… when in fact it is certainly not. It’s false advertising.. the book is actually a very good read, it’s something that I would purchase in paperback, but not at the price this app is offering at!

I absolutely don’t recommend reading in this app. I just got it this morning and was on chapter 12. when I finished it, it wanted me to pay for chapter 13 and on. With coins. And the only way you can get these coins is to give up your real money. Now this wouldn’t bothered me that much if I win on this from beginning. I don’t have a lot of extra money to spend on this stuff, so I was just trying to find a good story for free. So if you were looking for a good app to read free stories on, don’t do this because now I’ll never know what happened in the story.

Interesting app. I like the content so far, but the method of opening chapters is frustrating. I binge read and the pay as you go system is not idea. A monthly or yearly subscription would be a better option for me specifically. That makes it less likely for this app to last long term in my personal phone.

Worst updated “improvements”. I use to like the app but now even with all the updates the books aren’t loading it keeps saying failed, videos don’t load, they want you to open so many tabs to tap on pictures just to get a credit for one video. It seem like they want you to pay for more coins but honestly I’m going to delete the app it’s getting frustratingly annoying and i’d rather not deal with it. I have other reading apps that have literally the same books and I don’t have this problem and I can read the same book there.

Title: Good Reading App. Although I like this app. Earnings point, tickets or coins is not easy. However, I do like the fact that I can watch videos to read the next chapter. Even if after I am done I have to wait a few minutes before I can watch the next video yo read the next chapter. Also I think thirty minute is ample time to wait. More than that I usually forget and move on to something else.

Great books. The stories are great eye-catching. Some titles are hard to find. However, please do not get stuck in the rabbit hole that I have been in where are used to reading the few chapters that are available and next thing you know it’s a 240+ chapter book that you have to continue with Lee by calling packages for an a book that would have been five to $10 or any other app has now cost you over $200.

Super expensive to completely read.. It is very expensive to complete a novel because run out very quickly. It seems as though it is more that on book in one because of the amount in one book and several different characters in one book. The cost needs to be addressed immediately.

They advertise free stories nope. They advertise free stories which is so far from the truth they give you a bit of the story for free. Then start charging by the chapter. They also say they have a subscription which I have yet to find. The stories are good but I do not think that we should have to pay more than an actual book for one. They need to find a better way. I get that some of them are incredibly long but I can get books for 5 dollars that are excellent and do not nickel and dime me. Ten dollars for a few chapters is crazy. This app has so much potential and I love supporting writers but not when things are built on deception.

Def one of the best. Out of all the apps this one has the best way to read chapters without having to pay! The prices per ch are usually pretty fair and the same each time compared to other apps where it’s near impossible to read a chapter only by free coins and def not more than one chapter per day. So yeah LOVE this app!

To much. I have enjoyed reading this book . It advertised as a free app but it’s definitely not. Like I said though it’s a really good book , but I’m not going to finish it. The price is way to much. I did see one review about it & it was the same really good. Just letting everyone know I would watch out

Destiny. I love reading this book and I want Haley to end up with nothing. I don’t understand I paid for a subscription that renews every month. I thought I was getting over 4000 pearls but after three days I either have to buy pearls or watch adds to open chapters. I think this was advertised as free reading

Enjoyable but too expensive. I noticed the books are cleverly designed to draw you in & you buy coins to be able to see the next chapter except the chapters aren’t that long. It’s kinda smart actually. I spent $40-$50 and it got me to chapter 354 but now I regret spending that much money to read part of a book…

Great Story. I’m enjoying this app except I wish we could get more pearls/coins faster per day. Some apps allow you to earn more per day or watch ads to open more chapters. I wish this app was like that as purchasing the pears/coins can be expensive. I don’t know if I’ll stay on this app but the story I’m reading is really good.

Good read. I love the books. You can watch videos and get some pearls which helps you able to read. If you’re not careful you could spend a lot of actual money reading and still not finish your book. Read a few chapters a day. And then go back and re read your book as a whole.

Joyread. I downloaded this app this morning to read a book advertised on Facebook. I read the first 16 chapters (which are only 5-6 pages long) and the app wanted me to buy coins. I looked further into the book and there are 281 chapters. At the rate they sell coins it’s going to cost me over $99 to read the entire book. I’ll gladly pay $10-15 to read a good book but not $99. I loved the story I started reading which is why I gave two stars. Unless you want to pay a ton to read these books I wouldn’t download the app.

Broken!. I’ve been reading on this app for a while now and until the last 3-4 months it’s been great. Recently I tried contacting the app support to let them know the advertisement links are not working, making it impossible to earn free bonus points. I have contacted them twice now and still have the same problem. And it’s the whole app not just a specific books. I don’t know what to do anymore, I’ve tried everything.

Unfinished stories. I use to buy expensive stories all the time, but they never finish the stories. I have a huge library with unfinished reading materials. Don’t get me wrong, they are really great stories and I can’t wait to read them, but the author just stops writing for that story. Almost all the rebirth and system stories are not completed. Not one is finished. So we all beg for more but they don’t write anymore. So I wasted a lot of coins for an incomplete story line. Its sad

My Billionaire Husband. This book takes a long time to build the characters in terms of their personalities and role they play. I like the tough of keeping the two main characters trying to figure out their relationship and the third party needs to be more assertive and stop hiding behind parents.

Prices are high!. Really like stories , but prices are so high. I think if prices where more reasonable you would lose less readers and you’d make more profit.. And after first couple of free chapters you don’t offer enough on a daily basis to keep your reader interested in returning. I’m a avid reader but have so many different apps on my phone that it’s easier to just box around and read 5 or 6 different stories then try to stick with one.

Great reads, but AWFUL APP. So let me start by saying the books are amazing, and i say books in plural because everytime you start reading one you run out of coins and that forces you to start another book. The chapters are unreal, each chapter is like 5-11 pages long and they are short so you have to keep purchasing. If i could purchase the book i would. But buying coins for this crap and all the chapters are different prices makes this app a Joke. And honestly I would be deleting but the free coins are keeping me going a few chapters at a time. But it’s SUPER ANNOYING

Way too expensive!!. Think twice before downloading! You have to buy coins to read the book, then they charge by chapter! It is EXTREMELY expensive to read just one book. You could easily end up paying $200 or more just to finish one book! When I first got on it gave me an option to pay an amount for the entire story, but that option is now gone and if I want to continue to read this book that I really do love I must keep paying and paying and paying. So VERY disappointed.

Way over priced!. I started reading through an add on FB. I got the app to finish the book. I read until around Chapter 20. It says I need 38,000 coins to finish the book. The offer a subscription but that only gets me 7000 coins. Why the gimmicks? Just let me finish my book. It’s a cheap little novel that I would pay up to $10 for but I’m afraid with this app it will end up costing way over $50. They also don’t explain their subscription and pricing well. I looked for the book on another platform so I can just buy it and I can’t find it. The Joyread books are only on the app.

Updates keep getting worse. This app used to be one of the best, but the last couple updates have made it so hard to read. Each video you watch gives you half of what it used to be and you can only watch 5 videos a day. You used to be able to watch ads to unlock a few chapters a day, that’s gone now too. And all the ads you can watch to get coins are a minute or longer and they weren’t always like that either. Extremely disappointed might delete.

A man like none other. The story is awesome and exciting. Jared a young and handsome young man was wrongly accused of a crime he didn’t deserve doing it. An obedient young man to his parents yet he was wise, humble and full of spirit. A wise doctor who Josephine liked. A must read story. I don’t want to stop reading it because of it’s story line it’s so hard to put down. This is a five star story you don’t want to miss out reading it.

Too expensive. This app may have some interesting books to read, but the cost to read them could be significantly higher than even the cost of college textbooks. This app takes advantage of readers. I was reading a story that apparently has 1800 chapters give or take. I stopped reading because I’m not about to spend several hundred dollars just to read one book. Whoever created this app clearly only cares about making money. Absolutely greedy. Most people, especially today, don’t have that kind of money to spend just to read a book that otherwise might not likely be published.

Best app I’ve found so far. This is by far one of the best reading apps I’ve found so far. Fair prices, great rewards , monthly subscription avail at great price. Books are great!!! For once I don’t feel cheated when I do rewards and get to read reasonably priced chapters!! BUT. There needs to be a way to report problems. The kwik set adds never let you claim. There’s no x to tap to get out and get points

Pay per page. I got this app to read a story that I managed to read for free for the first couple “chapters” (each chapter is maybe 3 real book pages) through watching ads, liking them on Facebook etc. and the book was… fine? It had literal spelling errors and was pretty predicable but entertaining. Then you finish the first day tasks and all the ads magically disappear and they give you uncompletable tasks. Also the price per “chapter” is just absurd. They have to be inflating reviews cause this app is just generally a crappy money farm.

Liars. They say you can read for free, a total lie. They offer a small selection of books (about 4 or 5, mostly unfinished) you can read for ads. The stories are rated but they only let you see the ratings that praise the story so you have to pay to unlock chapters to find out stories have child grooming or smutty multiple sex partners and values you hate. The only story I found that appears worth reading is so expensive I can only unlock 2 chapters daily after watching 20 minutes of ads. Definitely not free.

Great books ridiculously expensive. Let’s start with the books, they are great some are odd but most a re fantastic. The subscription is pathetic, I have a subscription with another app and all the books are readable with no wait this one however is just pathetic. I can’t even read a full book. You only get a pitiful amount of coins/pearls and it isn’t enough to read anything . The price was not even close to being worth it. So very disappointing. I wish I could get my money back that I wasted.

OVER $200 a Novel. First even with the grammatical errors, the book itself was a good read INITIALLY but never in a million years was a non fiction book worth the $207 I spent just to get thru these EXTREMELY SHORT chapters for it to say “To Be Continued”. I’m real world the chapters are equivalent to 1 maybe 2 pages. It doesn’t allow a log in so you can switch devices to read on Nor does it allow you to transfer or gift coins to another user. Like none of these books should be worth more than $40 for the ENTIRE book PERIOD. I gravely disappointed and which there was a way to convert my remaining coins back to my bank account.

App steals coins. At first, I thought they weren’t gonna be any issues with the app?. so I purchased coins. Then I noticed that I was only unlocking three chapters at a time and somehow that was using up all my coins. Then I re-purchased coins looked at the balance, went to the chapter to see how much each chapter would cost me and I saw that it didn’t add up to the amount of coins I purchased the app steals coins from you so that you have to keep purchasing. The story was good, but the fact that an app really has the audacity to steal from a paying customer says a lot.

Joyread Is Phenomenal. I’ve been enjoying Joyread for several months and I absolutely love it! So many incredible books to choose from- and I love the incentives for reading more each day and week!! I had to get a yearly subscription after just one week! I was hooked immediately and am still very happy with it! I highly recommend for the avid reader!
