Well designed app. I use this WSJ Print app and the non-print WSJ version. Both work really well, but I prefer this one because I can see the layout of the paper. It’s like being able to see the blue-prints of a house you want to buy rather than just seeing pictures of individual rooms but not knowing how they fit in with the whole house. You can tap on each article and it appears in an easy read “reader view” that is easily navigable. The only downside is that when you navigate away from the app (even without closing it), it returns to the front page when you come back. Also, obviously, it doesn’t update throughout the day like the other non-print version does. Still, I think they’ve done a really good job designing this app!

It is the best replacement for the old app version. I did not like the change to the regular app, since I liked being able to read the articles in some sort of order and not be hopscotching around. This version is the best of the moment. If you liked the old style, just make sure that you use the one with the printed pages on the left and the article on the right. There is a way in the settings to have the article flow from start to end. I really wish that they would have a way for the regular app to have a setting like before, but this will do for now. Make sure that you have it download a few issues to see offline. This also speeds up the scrolling to an acceptable pace.

I never thought I would give up my physical paper. There is no reason to walk to the curb for my paper anymore, except maybe a little bit of exercise. I still have it delivered (for now), but I have found that I almost enjoy the digital version more now. I am 72 years old, so I am definitely addicted to real Newspaper feel and WSJ has finally achieve that with their digital version. if you travel, it’s always with you. I highly recommend that you give it a try.

Very functional way to read a newspaper. App provides good analog reading experience on IPad. Various ways to configure your screen but I keep full page view on approximately half screen and easy to read reading pane view on other half. Is easy to read headlines and shorter content using full view. When You want to go deep you tap the article and it rapidly displays in the reading pane. One nice thing is that articles display in their entirety in reading pane so no jumping pages to finish long articles. I hate reading online newspapers but this works well for me.

Well Done, WSJ!!. I’ve been a loyal reader of the WSJ since my MBA Economics professor made it required reading over 25 years ago. We were even tested to ensure we knew where in the paper information appeared and on which day certain columns ran. I have had a combination digital and print subscription for years. But, I’ve never really liked the digital version. You see, the way the print edition is formatted - the size of a headline font, the location (above or below the fold), even how many columns are devoted to a story - provides key information about the significance of the article in the eyes of the editors. And, I like to see who is running advertisements in the print edition. I thought it was a significant improvement recently when I signed up for the email that provided the pdf version of the print edition. And now the Print Edition app! Apparently, I wasn’t the only person that craved the print edition as an app. Thank you for listening to those of us that prefer the format of the print edition with the obvious benefits of digital delivery (especially when traveling to locations where finding a print edition is very difficult - I’m looking at you Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada).

i don't like leaving ratings BUT this app is awesome. it brings back my natural way of engaging with the Wall St Journal read it the way we were taught it business school years ago. It mixes the old school paper feel with digital. Everyone at the Journal who worked on this! Thank you! You gave me back a simple pleasure. I almost went back to paper copies. Maybe I want that nostalgia back from when I started. Coffee and the journal on an hour ride downtown NYC. Anyway, no i'm not getting paid to write this. Thanks peeps. Everyone else do yourself a favor and download the app.

Great app!. I am a new subscriber to the Wall Street Journal. I love that you can read the newspaper online as a digital version or as if you had the print version right in front of you. I like that you have the overall view of how that days cage is laid out and you can either zoom in an article you want to click on it and it will go directly to a much larger version of that particular article. This easy to use what do you want to turn the page as if it were a real periodical, or if you want to skip to the right and in the section. I also love that if you are busy doing something and you want to read the paper and yet don’t have time to devote only to reading to the paper, you can actually have a newspaper read to you by the app. That is good for busy people or those who are a little visual challenged. In my case, I could have the newspaper read to me why apply my make up or brush my teeth. Lol while I love the online feature I also still enjoy reading the tangible paper copy. (May that tangible version never go away.)

Overpriced and I get the actual paper paper on weekends. The app is great on both iPad Pro and smal iPhones… it is the way to read the paper in the morning/late night. I traditionally start reading it minutes after publication before bed accepting the news of yesterday is already two days old. I read it for personal enjoyment and continued education of the macroeconomic engine we call our economy. Great app with consistently consistent perspective on the market. Growth Growth Growth… that is what good corporate citizens strive for. Bob Lutz told me over dinner to “ALWAYS over deliver and under promise”. I like working that way.

Nearly the Paper. It’s nearly the experience of reading the actual paper, with a few bonuses and only a couple drawbacks. You get the paper layout, with prominent stories about the “fold,” and other intuitive benefits of the layout of a news paper, etc. (ads innocuously included, of course). Bonuses include not needed to wait on the actual paper, being able to switch between print layout and a clearer text-only, once your select a story; navigation without the dexterity test of folding the paper; and automatic links (or seamless continuation) to other pages to continue to the end of a story (i.e., no need to flip to page A8 to continue to read). Oh, and the ability to share a story with someone straight away, via—whatever. The only thing I really miss is the ability to save a story. In the actual paper, you’d cut or tear the story out. Here there doesn’t seem to be that ability (and, if it exists, then my gripe is that it not intuitive how it’s done). There may be inelegant ways around this (like texting a link of it with yourself), but not points for inelegant solutions. But other than the tactile feel of an actual paper, this is all I really miss. Very well done app.

Amazing and ‘Finally’!. This is something I’ve been wanting for a while with the journal. When I started using the mobile version I missed the format and feel of the print edition. Now with this version, it’s back! It’s now the only way I will read it (including having the actual print copy at my disposal!) My eyes can’t take the small type on the hard copy print edition but now I can zoom into each column of text in a story for very easy reading! Thank you! I now read the journal more than I used to since this app came out. PLEASE don’t discontinue it! This is a successful experiment!!

Hate this app. Bring back old apps. Offline doesn’t download. I hate what the Wall Street Journal has been doing to their iPad app, and to this application. I never used this print edition for years and was completely happy. Now, to get off-line additions you have to use this application. They do not automatically download 10 additions, even though I have it set that way. They have no way to know which edition has been downloaded and which hasn’t. I just downloaded 10 editions manually and watched it supposedly download only to get on a plane to be told the edition was not fully downloaded so I could not read the material. It is really disappointing that these changes have been thrust upon us so sloppily.

A Skeptic’s Take on the WSJ “ Print E-Edition. This is written by someone who has had a morning newspaper on his breakfast table for nearly 60 years and whose experience with e-editions has ranged from disappointed to disgusted. I not only missed the “feel” of the real thing, but I found them to be user-unfriendly and difficult to “flip through,” as I like to do. Then came the Journal’s version and I was, if not converted, pleased that it gave me the options I needed to feel at home with an e-edition newspaper. It’s layout seems infinitely adjustable to the reader’s needs, and combines the ability to see the entire page in one window with the ability to focus in on a single article. It is user-friendly and offers the reader access to the entire print addition, advertisements, Pepper & Salt, and all! We still have the print edition delivered to the house, but now my wife and I can read the Journal at the same time and even tell each other to look at page whatever for a good article. May “real” print editions live forever, but the Journal’s e-edition comes as close to the real thing as you can get. We’ll done, WSJ!

Better than the local liberal rag!. The local propaganda (Akron) paper is so biased that about the only thing I read in it are the comics and the obituaries. Unfortunately for them, they are aiming their content towards the masses that can no longer afford the paper, but are such poor visionaries they can’t see the results and don’t understand why their circulation numbers are tanking. Whereas, the WSJ makes an effort to be fair and balanced. The weekend issue really does take a couple of days to read and enjoy. Keep up the good work!

This app helped make WSJ a daily read. At first I didn’t think I’d like the print version but I was sort of forced to try it because the other WSJ doesn’t let my account use it for some reason. After a day I was hooked. It reminded me of years ago when I’d go to a coffee shop and buy a newspaper and then sit and read. These days I tend to read in the digital age format. But this app made me realize I miss seeing that front page and going to the different sections. I like that you can zoom in and move around and jump to continuation pages. To app is done very well. I’m also a recent regular reader now (never paid for a subscriptionbefore) and I found that WSJ has quickly become one of my favorite sources all around.

Close, but not yet. This is a nice improvement and does lots of things well but there is on very irritating flaw that can be fixed. When you zoom in on an article (using finger/thumb spread) the page becomes unstable, jerking further up or down on the page. If you are very slow and deliberate when you position, expand and release your finger/thumb you can usually, but not always, get the page to stay in the position you want but this is not the way you want to easily and quickly read. The moment you start to unconsciously speed up the program starts to become erratic and unstable again. If this is fixed it really will be a great newspaper reader

Great content - unsatisfactury UX. Completely puzzled by the UX of your versions. The "new" one, simply fails as the text is literally unreadable in the single page view. It appears to be purposely designed to display it as low-res, with the only option to zoom in slightly to make it readable - why??! You guys are obverthinking your design. Readability is the goal here. Stop trying to be clever with your designs. Secondly, I want to use arrow keys to navigate down the page, and move to a new page. This you do in the new version, however the keyboard "beeps" evertime - why??!! I have to mute my computer to navigate. Can you just add arrow controls to the "Old" edition and call it a day. All I want to do is read the paper, not work around a goofy UI. View this as constructive crticism.

The diversity of appearance is a big plus. I enjoy flipping through the online print version because it provides context on the section fronts. I enjoy seeing what the WSJ thinks are the best 5 or 6 stories that day, and it’s great because you click on the story and the text comes up in that easy-to-read format. Enjoyable to read some stories for the enjoyment of the writing, others for the economic impact and why I should be shoving more money in one place or another. As a former newspaperman, just fun to see a quality front page - so very rare these days!

WSJ Easy to Use and eliminate frustration!. Over the years I have read the paper copy of the WSJ, probably over 40 years. For many years I also have had access to the online version but still used the paper copy pretty much exclusively. I often saw articles that I wanted to save, but often failed to cut them out. That was frustrating. Now I view the print version online and print the articles that I want. Problem solved. Haha all except that I now save too may. But that’s a problem I can deal with. Just sorry that I didn’t start a long time ago.

My preferred way to read WSJ. I have been a WSJ reader for many years and have bounced between the print version and the online version. I very much prefer this online print version to the regular online version. It has the layout and features of print and the bonus is that when I read an article it takes me through the entire article without turning the page. I still love my regular print edition, but this is the only way I want to do online WSJ.

Great nostalgic experience- best of both worlds. I have been reading the journal every day since my college days for over 30 years. I switched to the iPad version since the first iPad came out and loved it. Due to extensive international travel, the digital version allowed me to read the US edition wherever I was. However I always missed the print edition’s feel. Now I read the print version on an iPad Pro with large screen and LOVE the experience. Flipping through the pages and reading the articles as they are printed is a true joy. Thanks WSJ.. Great app. Great experience. And as always great journalism.

Good paper substitute. I do not like the way electronic news stories are organized, if they are organized at all. It seems like they are randomized (though they may not be). The newspaper format allows me to see exactly what I want to see without having to swipe or bypass advertisements. This app makes it easy to zoom in and out into navigate to read the stories that interest me. That said, one star removed based on the consistent login challenges. FaceID doesn’t work. It also doesn’t let me use the Apple keychain. Fix that and you’ll get five stars.

Superbly executed!. Although I definitely like the feel and ease of the paper, the WSJ print edition app is so well executed that I find it my preference oftentimes. I used to prefer the paper edition because I couldn’t easily find certain sections of the paper in the digital online version, but that is no longer true. The print edition digital app is superbly and flawlessly programmed. I also like the fact that I can easily upscale text and photos with the print edition app. I never thought I’d prefer the digital, but the print edition online app (which I download and take with me) has changed my opinion. Nice job!

A good read. Yes, I do like and read WSJ every day. I find almost all I am interested in there, produced and published in a way and form that I understand, and with which I am familiar. It is like an old friend, and I can quickly locate any special thing I may need. I read the first section and the Opinion section. I am not very interested in most sports or in crossword puzzles. Who has the time for them? The Magazine also has interesting articles. The WSJ is the only thing coming out of the TRAGIC city of New York that gets my attention or appreciation.

A place of refuge from the new iPad WSJ app. I’ve been an iPad WSJ app user for ten years. The new version reduced my interest in the paper to about five minutes a day with its new layout not showing any of the paper’s value. This app gets me back to the WSJ I know. It’s a bit harder to navigate a newspaper format on the smaller iPad screen. But I can see enough of the articles to decide what is worth scrolling around to fully read. I don’t have access to a printed paper because it cannot be delivered in my area. This app is the only thing keeping my 40+ year subscription to the paper active. If they “unimprove” the WSJ app back to what it was, or further improve the new app to actually see the paper I would probably go back to that app.

The WSJ’s Journalism and Presentation Is Worth The Expense. Sadly, my apartment building doesn’t permit delivery of daily newspapers. So I relish reading the WSJ’s Print Edition daily on my iPad. It is presented so very well. The news reporting in The Journal is crisp, authoritative, well-conceived, well-edited, important and — in its famous A-Hed front-page features — wry and amusing. Editorially, the Journal is classic conservative; I am a moderate liberal and I well consider the Journal’s viewpoint when it challenges my own. The WSJ is expensive and worth it. I also read my local daily newspaper and The Washington Post in their individual mobile apps. I have dropped the NYT in favor of the WaPo.

Really prefer print edition. Generally I prefer reading an actual newspaper to a digital one requiring scrolling. I never can tell if I am finding all of the day’s articles and if I am reading yesterday’s news. This print edition works great, as well or better than a hard copy. I get to expand each article (great for older eyes) and also don’t have to turn the page to see an entire article. My only criticism is that the photos don’t appear in the article when you tap on it. I haven’t figured out how to expand/enlarge photos and their captions. Otherwise I have been converted!

Good App but still has bugs. As a WSJ subscriber, I find it a bit annoying that the regular APP is not included in my subscription on a tablet. Weirdly, I get the regular APP on my IPhone but not the IPad. So rather than using the web based version, I have gone to this Print edition app instead. While it is good overall, it still has bugs. The print version presents the paper format on one side of the screen and a reading pane on the other side. What is supposed to happen, is that when you select an article from the print based version on one side of the screen, the article can be read on the other half of the screen. Unfortunately, MANY times the two sides don’t play well together. This often seems to on pages where there is a block of advertisement. You click on an article and see the advertisement as well and there is no way to bring the article itself into the reading portion of the App. The only way around it, is to enlarge the Print version and read it from there.

Love it! Many plusses. Have one suggestion.. I was one of those who loved reading an actual paper but I switched to reading the WSJ this way and love it. I did it to eliminate the visual clutter of messy newspapers laying around my home. I bought a 12.9” iPad for it on the recommendation of other reviewers, and it seems a perfect pairing. The app is very well thought out and easy to use. I can enlarge anything so I can read it without needing glasses. I can continue an article to ‘inside’ pages with just a touch. I can quickly link to the more in-depth options I never bothered with before, and I now see I’ve missed a lot. One thing I would like to see: Maybe there is a setting I don’t know about to remedy this, but I wish it showed more than just one week of past issues in the ‘issues’ tab. (I know I can do a search by topic.)

Hyphenation and Spelling Errors Galore. I have been a subscriber to the WSJ for iPad for many years and have always loved how easy I could navigate to the articles I wish to read. The most recent reincarnation of the electronic edition has taken some getting used to. It is nothing like the prior version. However, the thing that WSJ should find the simplest to correct are the e-edition’s problems with hyphenation and letters of another word jumbled in a preceding word. I must find at least 10 examples of hyphenated words in the middle of a line of text every day. The word jumbles are less common but there were two in yesterday’s edition. PLEASE FIX.

Almost Perfect. I didn’t expect to enjoy reading the paper this way, but now I love it. The only negative is that the interface is pretty clunky. The app feels homemade with generic Times New Roman text and misaligned bullet points. I also hate that it reloads the whole paper if I have to leave the app and come back. For instance, if I’m zoomed in to an article on page 9 and have to leave to respond to a text, it reloads and goes back to page 1 when I return. Takes a minute to get back to where I was. Clean up the interface so it looks and operates like a professional app and this review goes to 5 stars.

More than Enough. I enjoy the Journal’s varied coverage because it gives me the sense that I’m caught up with the news. The editorial section offers great writing and a steady point of view that succeeds in making sense of the many voices clamoring to be heard. In the end, your paper delivers what I’ve always required from my primary news source, a feeling of closure for the day..the paper’s been read. One last thing, I rarely read about sports, however, I read Jason Gay’s column just for the fun of it. My thanks to all who work hard to make the WSJ the newspaper I look forward to reading every day.

Review. While I enjoy my online WSJ, I miss having an actual paper. Unfortunately, the female paper delivery person was sporadic in actually delivering the paper. We made several complaints about not getting our paper deliveries but no action was taken. We see the woman still makes deliveries in our neighborhood but fewer and fewer people are receiving actual paper deliveries because of poor service. We live in West Lake Hills, Tx on the Austin boarder. We also receive an Austin American Statesman online delivery. This same woman delivers those papers. The quality of the American Statesman went down when they moved their Austin offices to San Antonio. We love the articles and editorials in the WSJ. THANK YOU.

Informative. I believe the obligation of a news service is to inform readers of the events of the world, not to present information in such a manner as to try to influence the reader’s point of view. It’s hard to find that in today’s polarized world . The WSJ mostly does a good job of this with its news reporting. Sometimes an adverb or adjective is slipped into what should be a neutral article that alters the ‘flavor’ of the sentence and that can be annoying. They present a wide variety of guest contributor columns and the op-ed pieces are thought-provoking, as they should be. Opinions belong on the editorial pages, not on the news pages and the WSJ does an admirable job striving to meet that standard.

WSJ Print APP is great!. I have recently switched from receiving the Wall Street Journal from paper form to using the Wall Street Journal print APP. After decades of reading the printed paper, I have found this APP useful and an easy transition. I go to my favorite sections and skim certain others just as I used to do. I love to be able to quickly cover the entire paper too because there’s always some nugget of unexpected information that is interesting and important to know. This APP allows me to view the paper as though I literally held in my hands. I love this form! Thank you!

Better than paper version!. I ever thought I’d like a digital better than a print version of anything. After weeks of digital WSJ app I’m not going back to print. So far the app works great. Very easy to read articles spanning multiple pages. Double tap to zoom in or out. Hit Fit to fit whole page on iPad 11” screen. Quickly go to start or end of whole day’s paper. My home Wi-Fi is fast and this app is too, no lags. Move out and bring up another recent day’s paper with one click. I haven’t been able to search for text in an article like Find On Page but maybe it can be done. I did search for text in whole day’s paper to fine several articles. Now I’ve got WSJ wherever I’ve got Internet.

Beast Newspaper. It was sad when the time came that I could only afford the digital wsj. I truly love to hold the paper and read it every morning. I even like the smell of newsprint. At first the digital edition did not include my favorite bits like currency tables and crosswords. Now the lovely publishers show a print edition. It is perfect, except it doesn’t smell and doesn’t rustle. But it includes everything. Hurray for making it available to more people. It is the most informative newspaper in the US. Now if they could just add all the long articles that were so informative 10 years ago.

Unpleasant blast from the past. I recently switched from using the printed app version of WSJ because the most recent "upgrade" of the non-printed app edition was so terrible, illogically presented and difficult to navigate. While the printed version is easy to navigate, some details do not download clearly, and sharing requires taking an ugly screenshot. Because it's a PDF format, one cannot touch on a word to obtain a definition, nor be directed from one article to another/related, or view related videos. To read a complete article one must scroll over to another page and find where it continues. It reminds me of using microfiche many years ago. The content of the articles meets what is expected from WSJ (without any app videos)

The WSJ is a great paper. I appreciate the WSJ because the focus is on what is really going on (the news) while keeping the opinion separate and clearly stated. I appreciate that you provide a range of opinion to let us be informed on what ideas are being floated around whether we agree with them or not. I like the economic focus combined with the cultural awareness. And I like the tone of the paper in general. I have been reading the WSJ for years and I am never disappointed. I also really like what you’ve done with the electronic print edition. It works really well and preserves our historic roots and the experience of reading the paper. Ray Nagell

Great app. I read WSJ daily and this app makes it easy in a number of ways. First the new edition each day is available around 3am, plus the organization of the articles is in the familiar format of the print edition. This makes it easy to peruse and find the articles of interest in the political, financial and personal sections. Finally to read the article you can either zoom in on it while it’s in the print format or click on it to automatically convert it to a mobile format where you can read it or print it if you like. Very convenient app all around.

Like reading the hard copy, but better. I read the hard copy Journal starting at around age 25 and switched to the WWW site in my 40s and then to the iPad app in my 50s. The latter two mediums were slow and clunky, but I got used to them. Then the powers that be radically changed the app to a format that is just so bad that I couldn’t use it. I went back to the WWW site and slogged through the sluggish load times, eventually getting through the paper each day, but not enjoying the experience. Then I discovered the Print Edition app. Wow! I love it. The whole paper loads onto my iPad in seconds. I swipe my way through the articles without the dreaded load times of the WWW site. And I love engaging with the “hard copy” again. Five Stars all the way! Don’t mess with this one, Journal!

Makes digital tolerable. I have both the daily print and digital editions of WSJ, but when using the digital app I always felt I was missing something. The layout and organization of the standard app (esp on iPhone) is haphazard and it’s not possible to determine if the article appears in todays, yesterdays, or maybe tomorrow print edition. For breaking news the WSJ app is necessary and useful, but to get the full experience of the print version this app is a must. If it’s ever discontinued the only other alternative is the PDF download from the WSJ site, provided it’s still offered.

nice app for reading WSJ. I like the app for the most part. I find it easiest to read in Fit mode with one page width. The only issue I have is the scrolling in Fit mode on an iPad Air in landscape mode. The scroll control appears to favor being at the top of bottom of the page. As I scroll down, the scroll control skips down to the bottle of the page when my finish the scroll operation. This makes reading the center articles difficult. A work-around is to slowly scroll down or up to the center section, which allows for the scroll offset to stay. Suggest that the scroll control keep the last scroll offset when the scroll operation is finished instead of being set to the top or bottom of the page.

The newest release, September 2023. I can’t say enough bad things about the iPad print version of the WSJ. I am, about to be was, a daily subscriber of the Journal for forty plus years. I loved it but the latest version has destroyed a daily pleasurable experience. I’ve tried and tried to find a way to read and navigate the new “1980’s attempt” print version but shortly get tired of moving around the “Paper”. Oh, the real newspaper is easier to read than this new digital version. Been there and moved on to the future, except for this giant step back. For now, I am borrowing my wife’s new iPad and reading it, she has the, old but better digital version. We disabled the automatic app update feature. Hopefully this will prevent the garbage print version from replacing it. So long as she has the four or so year old version we will keep our subscription. I asked her to try the the new print WSJ and after 30 or so minutes she took her iPad back. I received an email from Daniel Bernard, Chief Experience Officer WSJ telling me how to enjoy the new digital version and giving us a one month subscription credit. 😖 Good by old friend, I will miss you.

“WSJ Print Edition” App is AWESOME, But Should Be Available as a Stand-Alone App. I have been using the “WSJ Print Edition” app for several months and it is awesome! It is FAR superior to the Journal’s other app, “WSJ,” which is frustrating to use and a poor alternative. The WSJ Print Edition app is the closest thing to reading the paper in hardcopy. It is easy to access information and easy to flip through to find articles relevant to my interests. Being able to select an article and have it displayed in large, easy-to-read font is terrific! My one HUGE criticism is that this app is NOT available as a stand-alone subscription. For some odd reason, the Journal insists on BUNDLING this app with full access to everything else on the Journal’s website, which I do not want. Please do your loyal readers a favor and make this app more affordable by making it stand-alone. Then charge separately for access to the website. Or at least offer a discounted price for access to only to the “WSJ Print Edition“ app. Thanks!

Like the Good Old Days. I’d been reading WSJ for about 2 years on the iPad app and had really enjoyed getting a sense of the layout of the paper as I read articles. You get to see what the publisher is prioritizing, glance through stories, and a sense of where to find consistent items of interest. Having the actual print edition available has taken that to the next level. Charts and graphs, a crucial element of many WSJ stories, are laid out in a more readable format. I can quickly go find what I’m looking for, and more easily glance over headlines and stories I might want to read. Just like the good old days.

New App is better and not. The new app for the WSJ is easy to use and more readable because of the touch to read feature. This is huge for people who tire of adjusting the focus of the epaper to get the size right for the reader. However, missing, at least so far for me (can’t find it if it is there), is the running news feed. Otherwise the app is fine. The old version was easier to use, but the current reader saves the eyes a little strain. The best thing isn’t the app, but the coverage of national, financial and international news. Thank you WSJ.

Almost like reading the paper!. As an ‘old’, I have fond memories of relaxing and reading the paper in the morning over some coffee, particularly on the weekend. It was a leisurely start to the day. I also enjoy seeing all the stories in their entirety all in the same place and then reading what I want, providing much better context. In that way, I can also easily skip over what is irritating and potential propaganda. Seeing the whole thing and being able to come back to it without being changed or ‘nudged’ is refreshing and liberating,…

Just the facts. I started this Wall Street Journal viewing with the almost free 6-month subscription. In doing so, I became impressed about the accuracy and dedication to offering mostly facts on each chosen subject. At first I thought $7.99 a month was too much and that I would end my viewing at the end of the near free subscription period. In the end, since so many new newspapers have succumbed to free, yet one-sided Internet reporting , we’ve got to pay the salaries of investigative reporters and journalists who reveal the truth and keep our government/politicians in check. So I decided to pay this minimal fee fee to support WSJ’s investigative journalism with continuing hope, through successful, truthful journalism that our great republic will thrive!

Good app, great paper!!. I use this app every day, and it works quite well. It used to collapse regularly, if I switched from one issue to another, but that problem seems to have been resolved. It’s intuitive to use, and pretty simple to share articles with others by email. I send myself the crossword puzzle every day, for printing. I wish it was accessible for online solving right thru the app, but I believe that you have to go to the website for that. When clicking on and reading specific articles, Occasionally articles that continue to another page don’t continue thru the app, and sometimes there are textual errors (mixed up lines of text). But you can also read by expanding the page to zoom in on any story, and there are no issues that way. This is all to say that, with a few minor annoyances, this app works very well, and is a good way to read a great newspaper. I only hope I can afford to keep the paper once last years Black Friday special runs out this fall! I’ve loved the WSJ since first receiving it at the student rate long ago, but the regular price tag is hard to fit into the budget of a school employee!

This is what I’ve been looking for!. I’m a long time WSJ online subscriber and have been frustrated in the recent developments of the WSJ app as more and more stories require an internet connection and I generally read the Journal whilst on airplanes or in other places without internet connectivity. It’s great to finally have the option to simply download the paper; my only complaint is why hadn’t they alerted me to the existence of this app sooner as I have been complaining about the increasing online functionality of the WSJ app for years now.

Jeremy Lo. User-Friendly App!

WSJ Down Under. It is a wonder of the age that people in Australia can now have real time access to The Wall Street Journal, arguably the finest newspaper in the world. The diversity of the coverage and the evenhanded treatment of topics is something to be treasured in a world of media bias and fake news.

WSJ. Excellent newspaper - world class.

Traditional print presentation with finger tip control. The Wall Street Journal continues to be a fine newspaper with high standards of journalism. The truth matters. Its modern modes of presentation take full use of the available web-based app technology while providing the look of a traditional newspaper. Great work!

Just the newspaper to read to understand the USA. I enjoy the up to date analysis and reporting of USA news and it world wide interests. While the world gets smaller opinions have never been so variable and actions so unpredictable.

Second Rate. Once WSJ had a great app for viewing the paper’s stories via the iPad. Recently that was dropped and we are now left with this. Very difficult to navigate between stories. So sad.

Developer. Easy to read easy to manage when you’re on the go. I just need to have an update on both events and business events makes it very easy. Well done WSJ..

WSJ. Timely, interesting, thoughtful, informative. Journalism as it should be.

Wall Street Journal (print edition). I love to read WSJ Print Edition on my iPad mini. Easy browsing for an all around overview. Most efficient app for selecting interesting articles, enlarging and reading. Cristal clear typo even when text is enlarged. Various content available to suit all interests. Business and financial pages mostly interesting. A great companion to my morning cup of coffee. Raymond Genest Canada

A great way to read a great paper. I’m happy that they have created this great way to read the WSJ. To me, it’s the best. Thank you.

Intuitive, easy and loaded with important information. Great app, loaded with more content than expected

Great read. Nice to have such informative paper. Your Canadian neighbour.

Great Publication. Current balanced positive reporting. Great way to start my day.

Big Improvement. Paper reads like the physical paper which is my preference. I wish the NYT had the same functionality.

Goood. Goood

Poor implementation. On iPad moving around the page snaps to a useless grid. Often reverts back to the first page. Selecting the “continued on page x” just takes you to that page, not the remaining part of the article.

WSJ informative. Excellent newspaper

Closest to getting that “newspaper in newsprint” feeling!. Don’t know if this is do-able - can’t articles be printed in the newspaper format? Current functionality does not allow this.

Print edition. Wanted this for so long since they stopped sending the paper copy to Ottawa.

Timely and informative. App is easy to use. New paper is delivered in the early hours of the morning ready to be consumed. App has a great layout that is intuitive, allows the reader to select an article to read from a page in isolation. Paper can be selected for offline reading as well.

Almost perfect. It be best if it kept the last position on a page when closed.

Great on an ipad. Provides a paper like browsing experience

Great and friendly App. Enjoy using it on both my phone and my tablet. Highly recommended!

Happy with Print Edition. First rate reporting and print edition is like becoming a kid again and going to the candy store. Next best thing to picking up an actual paper and reading in my favourite chair. Reporting provides an important breadth of views/opinions to augment my NYT online subscription. Thanks

Easy to navigate. Flipping pages on the phone is a feature I like. Very intuitive.

Great publication. Enjoy this publication. Real news.

Nice. This app is a great way to read the day’s paper. Unfortunately the speaker icon doesn’t ever play anything for me on my iPad Air 2. Showing both parts of a two-part article when clicking on the 2nd part would be nice. There’s a link to the first part but after finishing and closing the article after clicking that, it puts me back to the page where the first part began so I have to find the page I was originally on. Besides those two issues, I love it.

A great way to catch up on the news. The daily print edition delivered to my phone allows me to see the news in a compact and convenient format. I can easily scan the most important stories, read them, and then look at other articles that catch my attention. The paper is with me all the time. Because it’s digital, I feel it’s more environmentally friendly. I truly feel much better informed.

Wow!!. Finally a app that carries all the positive aspects of a print edition plus the bonus that you don’t have to turn the page! The actual newspaper appears just like the print edition and just tap on the article you want. Sure it’s common sense but most print publications aren’t there yet The newspaper continues to be informative and does a great job keeping news, features, & sports separate from the editorial portion.

Excellent app. I was wondering how I will be able to even read the article on phone. They have done a fantastic job. As soon as one clicks on an article, article opens in normal fonts on phone in a different tab. This tab is made so that we can share the article easily. No need to go from page 1 to another page. So much better than printed paper version.

WSJ Print Edition app is great.. Since going to web-based news in recent years I really miss the layout of a traditional newspaper and the way you can glance at various headlines and stories on a single page. It helps me get through more news in less time, and I always enjoyed the varying fonts, column widths and other visual variations. The WSJ Print Edition app brings back much of this. And while I still miss holding the print version in my hands, this is the next best thing. Thank you, WSJ.

The journal that doesn’t stain you fingers. I admit that I miss the paper WSJ. Having the journal a available at any time of day is a plus and the digital format is very user friendly. One quibble - Peggy Noonan has lost touch with anything out side of New York City and the Beltway. Here in flyover country I know lots of folks, Democrat and Republican, are concerned about the national debt, the cartels enriched by immigrants who are callously abandoned in the Rio Grand, and the reckless embrace of Iran and it’s surrogates. How about a few columns about these problems and less about Trump.

A great paper, made even more accessible. I have read the print edition of the WSJ and articles on the web. But having an exact copy of the paper on the phone means I can read the paper at home or at work. It has always been good for national, world and financial news. But, over the years, the Journal has taken on increasing areas of interest. It truly has become indispensable.

Easy to Use. I prefer the print layout of the WSJ over that of the web format. But a print layout can be a nightmare to navigate. Not so with this app. The developers have made reading the print WSJ a seamless experience, with easy to turn pages, zooming in on articles, and clear print and photos. As for the content of the WSJ, that’s up to you to decide if you like it or not. For me, the national coverage is fair, informative and comprehensive.

Great App for an even Better Newspaper. The app design is innately intuitive. The way all the configurations flow together are exactly where you would expect them to be. The access to the printed paper in the app allows me to enjoy the same WSJ paper of the day on the go. I don’t need to worry about carrying my paper with me everywhere I go because it is always with me. Can never beat the actual experience of holding the physical paper in your hand, but this is the nearest you can get.

The only way that I will ever read WSJ. The WSJ app with the disjunct articles has never been my cup of tea. I really couldn’t get myself into reading the articles despite the heck tons of notifications it spits at me everyday. This digital paper version changed everything and now I find myself reading pages and pages of news about markets, current events, etc. Additionally, it looks exactly like a newspaper once I transfer the pdf digital paper to my e-ink tablet, which I prefer reading on. I swear by digital print forever!

Best Substitute for a Real Paper. Structured visually identical to the print edition, this is a remarkable achievement in user interface development. Better than the print edition because you have the freedom to make the print larger (a real boon for us olders). And changing pages takes just a fingertip rather than whole-arm motion (another boon ;-). But it retains very faithfully the fun of accidentally encountering new topics as you page through the masterwork of editors and typesetters. Very nicely done!

Enjoying reading the print version of WSJ. I used to get the print version of the Wall Street Journal for over 20 years. When the electronic app became available, I still subscribed to the paper, because I liked the layout better. Once the print version of the app was available I was able to get the best of both worlds. One really nice aspect of the print version app is that you easily blow up an article, using the normal iPad pinch open pinch method. I recommend this version highly.

Glad to have print edition. I am glad to have the print edition of the WSJ digitally. About four weeks ago the digital version of the WSJ changed. It strayed very far from the print version. I called customer service. They were very responsive and told me about the digital “print” edition. I am reading it regularly. I can supplement it with more up to date information, such as a Fed report, through the other digital app.

This app is terrific. I am updating my review of this app with a bit of humility. My previous review of the WSJ app was not a happy one but the updated version is significantly better. I can read the paper on my phone, iPad or desktop just as I can read a paper copy. The ability to download the whole paper for offline reading if you were catch a flight, for instance, is also a wonderful seamless experience. Thank you very much to WSJ for this massive upgrade to the user experience.

Simply the best (newspaper reading experience on iPad Pro)!. I love the content of the WSJ but did not get the same pleasure out of reading it with their standard iOS app as I do the newspaper. This e-edition app when used on my 12.9 inch iPad Pro gives me all the pleasure of reading the paper in its physical form! The navigation is great and makes it easy to continue reading articles on the next page without having to scroll through to find the page.

Worth the wait. I was so disappointed reading my Journal with the app while they went through the changes. What are they up to? Should I complain? And one day, I did! THEN the new Print Edition arrived and I Iove it. My husband reads the paper Print version. I read on my I Pad ! He would say, “It is on page 3, for example. I would search my Pad and maybe I would find the article and maybe not… Now, we are on the actual same page, and I could not be happier.

Solid digital print edition. The WSJ print edition app concept is solid. I love being able to read a clickable print edition and easily navigate pages and sections. The time-out function is woefully short, however—a few seconds of not touching the screen causes the app to reload. Sometimes this sends me back to the front page, making me search out the article and spot where I just was; other times, the article comes up, but I have to scroll to find my spot. This is a little issue, but enough to knock off a star. I’d recommend the app to WSJ and print newspaper lovers.

wsj daily paper on app. As a long time reader of the WSJ. i started of course with the real thing which i always loved, but as i reached retirement and began to travel more and for longer periods i found that i was constantly having to stop and start the home delivery of the paper which became quite an ordeal!! Finding this approach to receiving the paper daily has been a godsend as no matter where I am it is always at my “digital doorstep “ as soon as i arise. Thanks WSJ!

Quick and Conenient. The Wall Street Journal app faultlessly reminds me it is there, is quick to download without apparent error, and above all is convenient when I travel beyond reach of our morning WSJ companion. (The latter, convenience, is important to me for two reasons: I am able to “catch up” on news and opinion, and reading it it is something useful to do while (e.g.) waiting for the doctor to appear.

Happy with the change. I was not happy with the change in the WSJ app when it came out a few weeks ago. Especially since I couldn’t figure out how to see back issues (if that’s even possible). The Print Edition app corrects that and I like the feel of reading a “paper” without having to a newsstand or going out to the end of my drive way. Thank you for the Print Edition app.

The quality of the paper is matched by the crap in the Opinion pages. I love the WSJ as the reporting is first rate. I think the writing on economic news is excellent and the additional features are worth looking at as it’s not your run of the mill fluff. That said, the three opinion pages have 10% of that quality. It’s dominated by wack-job right wing Fox Lite perspectives and makes me question my subscription every day. It’s just a shame that such a good paper has this ridiculous section.

Fast and easy. I use this almost daily, even when I have the print edition available. When traveling I use it exclusively and when home, it is often easier to revisit here than pulling out the paper. I do prefer a news paper to a computer but at times when the paper is cumbersome my phone, iPad, or computer is available. My local paper is electronic only but the app is not as friendly or fast. Well done.

Almost as good as the real print. Finally, I get to see the WSJ in entirety as opposed to curated articles to keep my attention. One thing I loved in the paper was perusing and reading stories far from the front page. I often learned something that I was not expecting. That had not existed in digital space until now. The side by side presentation of the paper and a reading pane works really well. I am once again enjoying seeing the whole paper!

Just about the only voice of sanity in major American media!. The Wall Street Journal communicates to its viewers in a way that proves they have not forgotten what journalism is all about: delivering the news, and separating the news from their opinions. Open I will give a shout out to the New York Post, a sister publication, which also adheres toJournal principles of truth and integrity, which is virtually lost in print, and radio and TV. Thank you for your presence in our world.

My go-to news source!. I have been reading the WSJ Print in digital version for several months on my IPad and my iPhone. I love the flexibility of being able to read the articles as one would on a printed version or as a text version. I think the user interface is excellent. I like the topics that are covered to give me a view of the world in general and specifically the market, economy and politics.

Digital Edition is a welcomed option. I receive the WSG Digital Edition and it’s the first thing I read every morning. It is a classic reading experience. The digital edition loads quickly and is easy to scroll through and expand articles. Particularly pleasing is the focus on providing news information vice opinion. I will highlight one of the editorial writers, Jason Riley. He writes Upward Mobility. I used to read the economist Walt Williams until he passed away. Jason Riley provides good opinion on a variety of subjects.

Print vs E Edition. I enjoy reading the WSJ on line. The subject matter is good and comprehensive. However, in order to receive The WSJ on line I have to also pay for and receive the print edition. To me this is a tremendous waste of paper as it typically goes directly into the recycle bin untouched. I also read a local newspaper on line and there is no requirement to receive the printed copy. So I only receive the E Edition on line. Is it possible that WSJ can adopt this more environmentally friendly approach for their readers? This would make good sense to me.

Fabulous Gift to Myself. I “splurged” and signed up for WSJ a couple weeks ago. What took me so long? I’m a 2-year-retired engineering exec learning Spanish to keep me alert. Glad I started Español before I started the Journal or it may not have happened. I LOVE THE PRINT EDITION. 15 years in Manhattan 25 years ago whetted my passion for unbiased, well executed information. Except for the Economist which is not as good for US and not as good as the Journal anyway … Well, what else can I say. I am hooked and ecstatic. Thank you.

An alternative to the latest terrible WSJ app. I really liked the previous WSJ app but the latest big change killed it. So I tried the print edition - for reading the daily this is as good in most respects and even has some benefits over the old WSJ app. I like the view of the daily edition - my only real gripes are the low res images, lack of video features, and article sharing, as well as not being able to do the crossword - for those its hold my nose and use the other app.

Wonderful. I feel like I have the paper spread out before me. This is the way to read WSJ. The only way! You see each page..go ahead and turn the page...just touch an article and it highlights and appears in a side window ( plenty big) right next to the full page. So easy to read what you want, to see where it’s in the paper and to skim headlines of other articles. Love, love, love this. If you are paying for WSJ and don’t have this app you are really missing out.

Love my WSJ!. Need my news fix every day to see what’s happening. Can’t trust the New York Times or Wapo at all, it is just a propaganda machine for the Left and the leftist Democrats running the country and ruining our country…. Democracy dies in the open and not in darkness. when we see the abuse of power and the end of honest journalism and honesty in the main media sources we know we have a real challenge in saving our Constitution and Republic. Thank you WSJ for giving us real news! .Nelson

Very good App, finally one that makes reading a news paper a delight.. It took you a long time to improve the app to this level. It makes you feel you’re reading the paper-print version(no ink on your hands). Can maneuver around easily, increase size of font/article to your delight. Can see an entire page or just a section or an article. Overall a great App.

Excellent layout for an outstanding news source!. I love the epaper layout that lets you focus on the paper and keeps articles in the page order intended. Too many publications put opinion columns or shift the most viewed articles up front and these often get confused as “the news.” A quality news source in a reliable format are more important than ever. I would like to see a sepia mode for ease of reading. Thanks!

News not slowed by snowstorms or supply chain issues. We have the paper subscription, but the paper is slow to arrive so I use the app to read the Wall Street Journal. I like to start my day between 4-5 am so it’s my schedule that starts too early. When the actual paper arrives, I keep it in the plastic sleeve and give it to my neighbor who is a late sleeper. I guess it’s a win-win for both of us…even if I prefer the actual paper version.

Old school reading the newspaper the old fashioned way. It is almost as if I have the print version. Since I have read a newspaper for many years at the breakfast table and go through it from front to back (no, not reading every article but visually choosing which ones to read), I find this as close to the paper version and easy to navigate.

Intelligent and Balanced News. This is your newspaper if you are searching for a news source that is more news than opinion. (There is an opinion section, but clearly labeled and various sides presented.) I do not need to be told what to think - just give me the facts and let me decide. Hard to find these days. WSJ also has other areas like arts, mansion, life information as well as news around the world. I highly recommend this news source!

Useful when the paper copy doesn’t arrive. I use the print edition app when I can’t get the physical paper. I like that it provides me miniature pictures of the real deal paper and is has links that I can click on to take me to the “continued on” page. A very useful back-up to the physical paper. I use it on a large screen version iPad Pro. I can’t see using it on an iPhone or even one of the tiny iPads.

WSJ is a very solid news media outlet. I generally don’t review anything. Most news media outlets either in print or on the internet are about the same quality as the garbage restaurants throw in the trash. WSJ has avoided most tabloid news. The opinion articles are thoughtful and come from both liberal and conservative viewpoints. WSJ produces good international stories based on international sources. Overall, WSJ is one of two level headed news publications in the US.

How I read a newspaper. I was very frustrated trying to read the Wall Street Journal with their regular online app because recent articles were mixed with older articles ( on my phone) and on an iPad, turning pages to finish an article was a problem. Fortunately, a fried told me about the WSJ print app, which lets me read the paper as I wish, and all articles are together, even if on different pages

As flexible as can be. The WSJ app allows you to read the print edition in whichever way is preferred. Personally, I like the article list sidebar which expands the particular column you wish to read. The only issue is an unintended swipe in the bottom right quadrant which will temporarily freeze and then close the app - could be an iPad issue independent of the app. It opens again easily and usually where you left off

Relevant news and financials in a great format.. Of all the news sources out there, WSJ is the best with high quality content and control of invasive-distracting ads. This makes the read very valuable and enjoying. The new “Print Edition” format with the old school approach is more than just a nice touch. It allows me to see a bigger data picture with quick looks at information I would otherwise miss in a non-print format. This widens my daily perspective. Thanks WSJ. C. Coppock

Something special about it. There’s something special about reading the Wall Street Journal as we used to in the old days. I love the actual print layout and find myself reading a lot more stories, than if it was presented in a purely digital outline for some reason. I think you have the ability to scan much faster and move around to what really interest you I know it sounds strange, but that’s how it is for me!

Needed this! Better than the Digital version. The print edition online is a game changer. I can see stories that are not necessarily picked to appeal to me, which broadens my exposure to news. Thank you! Also, “What’s News” is useful again! That section was great in the digital edition until 2013 or so, when it changed to the present format on the digital app. The print edition online has the section the way it is intended to be used!

Clunky App. With recent changes, this app has gone from terribly frustrating to mediocre. Why don’t you just copy the Washington Post’s print edition app, with its clean and intuitive layout and processes? All of your fussy (and often ineffective) options don’t add anything to the reading experience. And why do pages load so slowly, with many photos blurred for a long time — even on the latest iPads and fast connections? I appreciate having the WSJ print edition available on my iPad, but genuinely think you should rework the app significantly with a straightforward user experience in mind.

WSJ App and Paper are Best. Recently subscribed to the WSJ and have been using their App... Both are the Best... very glad that we subscribed... It’s refreshing to able to pick up a paper and read articles and News that give you the TRUE picture, not twisted to the side that the media wants you to see... The WSJ is truly the greatest daily paper you can pick up and read... and their App makes it even easier... I love to read it in the Paper Edition Format so it looks just like have it their paper in my hands... Can’t say enough about it... Subscribe!

My most prized “app”.. Surprised how enjoyable the WSJ app has proven to be. I can access content readily (despite delivery issues with the paper) and can read it in a piecemeal fashion. The ability to enlarge the script as needed is much appreciated. First electronic source of information that’s comfortable to read. Considering canceling the print edition (desirable environmentally) as the app has proven to be a worthwhile substitute. Will “field test” further. Thanks for your efforts in perfecting the WSJ app.

Love this - almost like reading the paper. I much prefer reading an actual newspaper, but this is the next best thing. The app is easy to use and navigate. I also noticed the headlines on the print edition are different from the online edition of the Wall Street Journal (the online version being more attention-grabbing, which I find a little annoying) so the WSJ print edition is my preferred online newspaper.

Digital edition. Very helpful as the delivery of my print edition is very spotty. In fact, delivery is very unreliable. Sometimes there is no delivery for no obvious reason (weather or otherwise)and I get the paper a day late, the paper gets delivered late in the day(late afternoon), etc. Digital edition is at least available to me. Considering canceling my print edition. Why have it if I can’t rely on its delivery early in the morning? Waste of money. The digital edition is a great backup and well designed. James R Lajoie

The new print edition has corrected the issues I was concerned about. I have seen changes that addressed my previous concerns. Now the print edition reads more like a physical newspaper but better in that it allows you to read or scan an article. And you can look back to that weeks editions easily. The page is also loading faster. Altogether it is a vast improvement.

Online WSJ. Much as I enjoy handling the actual paper when I read it, the online version is extremely accessible and easy to use and I have quickly learned to use it. However, there seems to have been a change and I miss being able to tap and forward to article continuation then tap back to the original page. The entire is well thought out format pleases me greatly, much to my surprise. Of course, news content is peerless.
