A problem. I like it but there a problem now

Best iOS interface I’ve ever seen. Theirs is truly no app that can compare to the sheer number of ways to interact with iOS on Scriptable. I was skeptical at first with this app because theirs so many useless apps for programing on the App Store and this one is 1000% better than the best I’ve seen. Seriously this app doesn’t cost a dime and I’ve been using it for the past couple of days and not ONE ad has opened, its amazing! Not to mention the possibilities with this app you can create timed notifications check sites. And best of all you can basically add Siri functions to your phone. Nothing else truly compares to this app if I could I would give it more than 5 stars.

Great App. Love the platform provided by the app! One suggestion: Could you please add support for M1 Mac so the widgets can also be used on Mac? Like some other iOS apps.

Great app but remove name tag. So much can be done with this app. I just wish you could hide the name tag on widgets. Other widget apps are starting to do it now, so we know it’s more than possible. Those names ruin the look of the home screen. Other than that such a great and powerful app.

I’ve only just scratched the surface…. This app changes the ability to extend iOS in crazy ways. Can’t wait to see what other people do with it. The developer should charge something to keep development going.

The most professional theming tool ever. Apple really needs to integrated that into its system.

Honestly one of the best developer tools on the App Store. Nothing else to say than if you need a dev tool this is the one it’s amazing

Fantastically powerful but. The app finally makes Shortcuts not a toy. However, as of iOS 14, some things are more complicated than they need to be. Stability is lacking still. But the progress has been incredible. Apple needs to implement their own integration tools in Shortcuts for this app to be able to pass data back and forth freely. As for this app, I’d only complain about the Documentation view. I think, it’s poorly presented.

Error Report. iOS 26.1 iPhone16 Pro open app and it killed itself immediately plz fix this

Browser. Great app; but the built in web browser has an issue: Web content is displayed under the notch and status bar. I have a scriptable action that sometimes requires me to view a web page (to log in and out) and the site's menus are at the top. It's impossible to use the menu at the top. I've only had partial success rotating my phone to access the menu. Please fix! 🙏

GOOD App. Good app for learning JS. Would like to see some examples in the documentation to further understand syntax requirements. A lot of work went into the development of this app and probably has a way to go to be fully functional as a fully capable scripting app. I look forward to the next release.

Great App - issue with iOS 14.6 RC. Amazing app and worked great. But I just noticed that the app does not work anymore since I updated to iOS 14.6 (RC). I know I’m using beta program at my own risk. Anyway you guys, the developers can fix this? Thank you

A SOTA App for Shortcuts. The app has made my shortcuts amazing! It also adds cool functionality to the iPhone outside of shortcuts. This app is so well implemented I’m suggesting to the dev to create apps for python and php as well.. take my money

Scriptable is so cool!. I have been preparing for a talk at upcoming Claris Engage conference to be held in Austin, TX - I have been using it to fetch FileMaker data and surface that data in different ways. As a small chart or list of top sales, but there are so many possibilities. A big thank you to Simon for making this great tool freely available. Combine this with Siri and shortcuts and there are incredible on demand interactions that we can deliver.

Really Nice Coding App. I have been a full time developer for 5 years and this is the best UI for a coding app that I have seen. Everything is nicely documented right in the app as well.

Ultimate JavaScript coding app. Man your app is the best app for coding in js. I use it to learn js, I hope in the future you or someone else make a one but with ruby

Best Automation App!. This is probably the best automation app you could install. I use it more than Shortcuts, even. I mean, you can customize your device with JavaScript? How cool is that? Scriptable has a ton of nice features: A clean UI (settings, dark mode, log), extensive documentation, and a ton of custom APIs written just for iOS. With Apple’s recent iOS/IPadOS 14 update came the ability to create widgets with Simon’s beautiful ListWidget() api. No other app that I know of can do that. Those were the Pros, and the Cons are.... well... hmm... well, guess there are no cons. 🤷‍♂️ Also, since Scriptable is free, there is really no reason not to download it. So go download it!

Pure Creativity. This app is so fun only your mind is your limit here because there’s a ton of stuff you can do here, and I’m just getting started but dude I can’t imagine what someone that knows a lot of java can do with this, trust me it’s really fun you should try it!

Must-have app for scripting on iOS.. I am absolutely amazed at what I can get done with this app on iOS. Thanks to Scriptable, I now have my own widget for my weather station before the station’s app developer has created one!

Pachino. Wonderful App, but, I opened the app, and noticed one of my saved script was one.. *In other words, the app automatically deletes scripts it chooses to (Randomly, or selected by the developer). Also, Apple App Store and the developer, take note of this, this App “Scriptable” does not appear under the cellular data section, therefore it means one cannot put off the cellular data for the app.. noting the face that The Apple iPhone does not have 100%(total) control over the app.. This is wrong, a very massive bug, please this needs to be fixed.. This App has too much access to the apple iPhone. Please developers fix this..

Whoah. Scriptable + AI literally lets me create a bunch of micro apps on my phone like a tip calculator, pomodoro app, and so much more. This is insane. Strongly recommend tipping the creator because this is incredible

Good but error for me. I was just trying to play pip but it gave me a error message and I don’t know how to fix it can any one help me

Just The Tip. This app is the all purpose app for the ubiquitous all purpose computer we carry with us everywhere. I know almost nothing and yet I was able to make my phone do what no other app available would do. Also, it was recommended by Chat GPT based upon my query!

Unrivaled Functionality. For power users this app enables your phone to do so much more than it could out of the box. Deserves 10 stars.

good and bad thoughts. this is a nice little app and it's amazing that the app developer donated it. i gave it 4 stars since my use cases dont necessarily line up all the the time with the capabilities of the app. I dont know if we can contribute on github to future versions. so it's at least a good starting poimt.

Good thou. Using the app, it’s very good. Like you can use this app to do many things and tweaks by prompting it by using programming. It’s one of the best app!

Amazing App. I wish I had more use-cases to use this! Maybe add a Marketplace or similar feature where people can add their scripts and you can install scripts from others. (Maybe also and .env variable feature that reusable scripts can get secret values that users don‘t want to share) 🎉 Keep it up! Amazing stuff!

Great app, responsive devs.. Great app, complained about an issue with prompting for a review. Now it’s fixed! There is a way to tip the devs for their creation in the app. Great model I’m happy to support. 🎉

Amazing usage of Application Programming Interface (API). As a programmer being able to customize and create widgets using API is an amazing idea, been having a lot of fun messing around making widgets.

Documentation could use example stubs. This is an impressive app in the sense that it allows the user to perform “native” scripting on the iPhone to create files, present information using native iOS functions. The documentation for the functions such as “Alert” lacks example “stubs” and leaves out similar information a beginner needs. The online forum helps a great deal in filling some of the gaps. The included example scripts provide helpful information as well.

Works with iOS 16 now. Latest iOS update fixes scriptable!

It’s great but needs update for iOS 18. Some scripts don’t work

Should Be An Editor’s Choice App. Scriptable is by far one of the best apps I’ve ever downloaded. As a website developer, using JavaScript to program iOS shortcuts is like a dream come true. With the no ads and no premium subscription, it’s an app that I would definitely recommend to anyone with a background in programming. With that being said, I do have a few bugs and feature requests for the developer. The features include: - Word wrap toggle: on iPhone, it’s a pain to have to enter landscape mode just to make sure all the indentations are as they should be. A word wrap toggle would be a big help. - Theme choices: we should have the option to use a different theme for light/dark mode (for example: one dark pro, etc) - TypeScript support: this is pretty self-explanatory And the bug: - Accessing Contact and ContactsContainer in a widget results in a blank widget. However, this does seem to work if you preview the widget in-app using present.

Obsessed.. This app is fantastic. Please continue to keep it largely in the state its in — not giving in to any kind of over-monetization or deep change. You (developer) will absolutely and certainly have a community of strong supporters, which pays itself in dividends.

It’s what shortcuts and other widget apps wish they could be. If you’re on the fence about trying it, try it. You don’t even need to know JavaScript because you can get other people’s scripts, but learning it is easy and it may even be the thing to teach you JavaScript

I’m finally comfortable doing iOS automation. I’ve been meaning to try Scriptable for a long time, and finally gave it a spin today. It’s SO MUCH better than using Shortcuts’ scripting language! Not only did I get my “upcoming birthdays” script working the way that I wanted it to, I was able to fix a date range bug in JS that I couldn’t figure out how to do in Shortcuts. Plus, as a bonus, now I’ve got a widget using my script that works with parameters. All this after noodling around for just part of the afternoon. Thanks so much for Scriptable.

Nice. After a minor iOS update I can use it and files actually show up in the Scripts pane. :)

Phenomenal!. Amazing, if you are experienced in JavaScript, then download this app NOW. This app is so useful to create widgets that tell you your elevation, where you are, the current weather, I could go on and on!! JavaScript developers, GET THIS APP!!

Good App Hope it would support Python. Useful app. Made short cuts more powerful. It would be nice if short cuts in the app could also be written using python.

I see great potential. This is an awesome concept. Being able to write automation scripts for your mobile devices, on your mobile devices. It’s awesome and wonderful and as a Javascript developer, two thumbs ups. I just got three recommendations for you, to bump this from a 4 star to a 5 star application: 1. Documentation I don’t think should be a secondary window. If you can make it a sidebar, that would be huge. 2. Maybe include some common JS documentation too. 3. This is probably asking for too much, but automation for our automation app. It gets really annoying writing out every word so if the Scriptable app could auto add ending curly braces, etc. If these three things were to be implemented, heck, I’d buy you as much coffee as you’d like :)

The Greatest Pair for Siri Shortcuts. There’s a few quirks here and there, but they’re only graphical, so your content is all safe and sound (from my experience so far). The documentation is 10/10, and the example scripts are wonderful for new comers with all the comments! More features would be awesome, so I look forward to what is up next for this app. I just tipped the dev a caffe latte (the best in-app purchase I’ve ever made), but I wish I could give them a handshake for an app well done 🤝

Shortcuts for JavaScript nerds. This is an incredibly well put together and well thought out app that is a virtual replacement for the Shortcuts app, assuming you know JavaScript. One thing I can’t seem to make it do is behave as an input/output step in the actual Shortcuts app. It might be nice to offer a script with a return value as a suggestion there.

Great. Really helpful for doing things that Shortcuts can’t do, like marking reminders as complete/incomplete! I like how it provides a nice JS Interface for the native Swift/Obj-C APIs. The customisable editor and the code suggestions are also very nice.

Widgets. Since last update all scriptable apps ard white when using tinted customization

Doesn’t work on iOS 18. The background becomes solid black on iOS 18 when using tinted icons. You can’t use a background image in this mode.

setInterval is not set ?!?!. The very first thing I try! A setInterval in order to set the brightness back to 100% (for some reason IOS keeps reducing it even if auto brightness and accessibility features don’t allow it). I get a message saying that setInterval is not set... like it was a variable! That function has been around since dinosaurs... what exactly do they call « javascript environment »??? *** Update after developer response: (I updated my rating too) Thank you for your answer! And for the alternatives. I understand. Javascript is used in many places with different engines. Node.js does have setInterval / setTimeout in the global scope. So for the benefit of other readers: just like in browsers, we should check first.

Shortcut Lifesaver. While I like building shortcuts, it can be cumbersome to drag around actions and link them and test them. If you're more accustomed to regular coding and you understand enough JavaScript to be dangerous (read: anybody coding in JavaScript ever), this app is for you. While it's not a full-blown IDE like Visual Studio or XCode, it gives you just enough to be able to test and iterate on smaller ideas. The additions in iOS 13 to the UI cannot be understated and have lead to me developing even more in the app. I cannot recommend this enough.

Used to be amazing. This app used to be great. But it’s been neglected. The biggest problem I am having is that Webview won’t load anything, just runs and runs with no end.

But can you tell me what can I do with this : Shortcuts Automation failed "When any of 2 apps are opened" encountered an error: The operation couldn't be completed. (INCExtensionErrorDomain error 1307.) It keeps pushing when I run the process. But the function works well .

I think the app needs its next update. The options I had to play videos on loop and at different speeds aren’t there anymore. When the video is over I have to keep pressing play to start it over again. Now it’s just a black backround with nothing but the video playing and if I skip forward or backwards, it takes the video out of the frame and into PiP. Another thing; when I put the YouTube video into PiP, when scriptable opens it up it starts the back from the beginning again and not from where it was playing when I chose to send the video to scriptable to watch in PiP. Get me? I don’t know who else is experiencing this but I’am, on my iPhone. Hopefully you send an update soon that fixes all of this. I appreciate your work and this app. It helps.

Super clean. You did a great job writing this app. I never review apps but felt compelled to post on this one. It’s easy to use with even a basic level of js exp. The documentation is on point. Example scripts are rich with explanation & logically-clean code. Solid build. Love it!

Very simple user. Only using this for 1 widget. Got the code for Tempest Weather System. Worked great until a Scriptable update :(. Tried putting the code in again. Same… Is there a way to test/tweak a code on a PC?

Great app. This app is great as a programmer! One thing that I think it is lacking is the ability to have more ingrained automation in the app. For instance, if you could send a text message without having to manually send it, that would make this truly hand-free for the car. Also being able to set scripts to run every second would be dope as well. Other than that, awesome job!

ios17 calendar granded bug. not fixing until now

So many bugs. Like title

Kept freezing. I tried using the app to write some JavaScript. In less than 24 hours the app has frozen multiple times. None of the controls work. I have to force quit and restart. It happens after hitting the play button to run my code. I don’t have an infinite loop, but sometimes there are bugs that I enter (e.g. I forget to add const or let to a variable). The app doesn’t complain, but freezes. I like the layout and the functionality of the app, just wish it didn’t freeze.
